I've been listening to a lot of Deadman lately, particularly their albums No Alternative 2.0 and Genealogie Der Moral. I recommend them when I can—their music is just so unique. Same as Acid Bath, both of their albums are great.

I listen to a lot of goth music as well, lots of Bauhaus, London After Midnight, Voodoo Church, amongst others. The Cure's Pornography album is another favorite.

If I get around to it, I might put together some sort of playlist I can share on here.

Hi, sorry i'm late again, I had a few other things to do, and I ended up forgetting about this month's rotation lol (also i wanna point out that this is the DIXième rotation \m/)

DEATHGAZE - Dies Irae

I did not realized this, at the time, but I literally got introduced to deathgaze with their very first release... which was with their original line-up, which is also how I got to discover Hazuki and how I also got introduced to lynch. with their first release too :D

Dies Irae was released on 294036224052, in 2004 (the whole thing is worth listening ♥)

Dir en grey - Obscure

A fucking classic. I said in the previous entry that I originally didn't like dir, so this one came after I gave them another try. I spent my last year of high school listening to this song in a loop in between moi dix mois songs lol

Obscure was on Vulgar, released in 2003 (which also is still in my top dir album ! I also still think the original version is superior to the 2011 version, but that's me :3 )

(sorry that's the only one that doesn't require signing in apparently)

GAZETTE - The $ocial riot machine$

Now, I gotta be honest, i happened to lose interest in gazette very fast, as they are one of these bands that the visual is more interesting than the music to me. Today, I think they are a good base to get into visual kei, they were back in 2004 too, even if they were babies :D But between 2004 and 06, I was also looking for heavier faster songs, and this song here scratched that itch (ngl it surfed on the wave pop is dead created lmao)

The social riot machines was found on the album Disorder, released in 2004

MUCC - 我、在ルベキ場所 (ware, arubeki basho)

HAAAA this song is still so very effective on me. Mucc went all over the place, and I like some of their songs from all their eras, but I think their early 2000's is my favourite. Actually I think ware arubeki basho might be my favourite mucc song. Anyway you should listen to mucc ! Mucc is also the opposite of band like the gazette, to me, cause i spent a loooooooong time listening to them without even knowing what they looked like except for Yukke lol (and even then, if he hadn't his blond bowl cut............)

And I just learned that ware, arubeki basho was a single released in 2003, before being on 是空 (zekuu), later that year.

(wow i had not watched that in.................. 20 years lmao)

そろばん (soroban) - -RAM-

Soroban is a band only me knows...... ok no lol. But i knew them before Yumehito went to Ayabie (two thumbs down tbh) I also spent the longest time with only that song from them because, in 2004, I didn't realize how fucking indie visual kei was and I wanted more soroban, but all I got is that soroban is the japanese word for an abacus... i ended up finding their (really short) discography years later and was almost disappointed that -ram- is their only song sounding like that (the rest is good too, actually, just less heavy and more kawaii i guess)

-ram- was the A-side of the -RAM- / オレンジ手紙 初回限定盤 (-RAM- / orange tegami) single, released in 2004 (orange tegami is also a very good song !!)

and I can't find -ram- on youtube (there's the 2006 re-recording i didn't know existed though) so here :

*the used word means “make-up” but since we use make-up to cover something, I used the word veneer (which means something that hides something unpleasant or unwanted) -> in this case the suddenness of loss hides/covers the real, negative feelings that come along with it. Same with the next line, a wish to alternate reality, rewrite it is hidden by suddenness of forementioned loss

**white breath can mean literally a spirit but also flowers - baby’s breath flowers - used often as a filler in funeral arrangements where they symbolize purity and are linked to the clouds in heaven

Hoy les vengo a mostrar un poquito de lo que se trata esta compilación con canciones magníficas de Laputa, una de mis bandas favoritas de toda la vida. Tienen un sonido que al final del día es imposible de describir, te llegan mucho al alma. Lo más esencial de esta publicación no son los scans o mostrar el diseño del disco como tal, vengo a compartir un extracto de Fool's Mate que trae ✨️✨️ es una traducción de fans para fans, en este caso los créditos correspondientes van a @erogurokiss jsjsjs lo comparto con mucho cariño y me disculpo de antemano si hay errores de traducción, sé japonés pero es un idioma complejo (por ende muy especial para mí) 💜 Aki y Laputa ETERNOS.

"El sonido de Laputa se basa en las canciones delicadas y de vanguardia que Kouichi crea agregando su propia sensibilidad de espíritu libre al gusto del rock ortodoxo, y las canciones de estilo vanguardista de Junji que utilizan mucho martilleo y ruido. Sus vectores contradictorios se extienden a los cielos y la tierra de manera fantasmagórica, y comienza a tomar la apariencia de un gran árbol con un hermoso equilibrio de flores y hojas en un conjunto vibrante. "Laputa Coupling Collection + xxxk" que se anunciará aquí es una reorganización/remezcla parcial de nueve canciones combinadas de los ocho sencillos que lanzaron entre 1996 y 1999, cuando hicieron su debut principal. Este es un trabajo recién grabado con una nueva canción agregada.

Para presentar brevemente las canciones incluidas, "Pink Animals" (Sg "Chimes" /Marzo de 1999) es una canción que utiliza muchas aportaciones y puede considerarse el trabajo de Junji. La canción creó un mundo nuevo para Laputa, junto con la interesante letra creada con la imagen de un "elefante rosa que muestra su ágil carrera. La nueva canción "xxxk animales", que se puede Ilamar una secuela, tiene una hermosa melodía de piano con un pesado sonido de batería que impresiona. El desarrollo dramático, que combina belleza e intensidad, es la característica misma del sonido de Laputa.

"Beautiful Place" [Sg "Breath" /enero de 1999], que te permite disfrutar de la profundidad y amplitud del sonido como el de una banda de guitarras del Reino Unido, es sorprendentemente obra de Junji. "Tomorrow" [Sg "Virgin Cry"/mayo de 1999) fue creado por Junji sin utilizar ninguna tecnología digital, basándose en la idea de que quería una canción que utilizara el sonido de un órgano de tubos. El tempo medio-lento del ritmo digital sobre las majestuosas melodías del órgano de tubos es agradable.

La canción de Kouichi "Kobere Hiro" [Sg "eve" / mayo de 1997], que puede considerarse el clásico de las canciones de Kouichi, muestra el apogeo del sonido Laputa, donde "la quietud y el movimiento" y la "tensión" y relajación" conviven. "Your Voice" [Sg "Swaying" /febrero de 1998] tiene una melodía fuerte, pero también incorpora trucos exquisitos en el ritmo y el equilibrio, dándole a Kouichi su gusto característico.

"Squall" [Sg "Feelin' the sky /septiembre de 1998] es un tema espectacular exclusivo de Kouichi que enfatiza el "impulso", ya que fue creado para presentaciones en vivo. "WITH THE WIND" [Sg [reencontrarse" /noviembre de 1997] es una canción que incluso hoy en día el público canta al final de los shows en vivo. Una canción que creó una nueva frontera para Laputa en ese momento con su sensación de turba saltarina.

"BUZZ" es en realidad la canción de Junji que fue grabada como una pista secreta en "Yuyuna na Nagara" de Sg, y en la presentación en vivo, solo los dos miembros del ritmo actuaron y Junji dio un grito parecido a un grito (¿grito de guerra?). Las coplas para singles suelen ser "obras maestras escondidas" que rara vez se interpretan en vivo, pero en su caso, por otro lado, las canciones de copulación son indispensables para la emoción a mitad y al final de la gira en ese momento, una existencia. En otras palabras, este trabajo podría denominarse "el mejor de Laputa". En este álbum, lleno de giros únicos, puedes vislumbrar las inconmensurables profundidades del sonido de Laputa, que ha ampliado su visión del mundo a nuevas profundidades con cada trabajo sucesivo, creando un sonido original que ya no se puede describir en palabras.

I applied to an art school several years back. The process consisted of an audition, which was a still life drawing session, and then later an interview if you received a callback. In the interview, you brought your portfolio and talked about your art. Later you'd receive news of whether or not you were accepted.

I got to the interview. I've always been good at drawing still life, and the audition was not too difficult for me.

But I do not draw excessively realistic art in my own time. And my portfolio was not made up of art I'm sure they wanted to see.

There is a certain elitism in art schools where the only "good" art is realistic or adjacent to such.

And I believe my ability to self teach and learn how to better draw in my unrealistic art style was actually beneficial to me learning how to better emulate real life things in an exaggerated fashion.

I know how to proportionally draw the human body better than some people who I know who've focused on semi-realism their whole life.

My still life skills have never faltered, even after several years of not doing realism.

These things came back after a class session of drawing skulls. Here's one of them.
