OK @taylortruther reblogging her post made me go back and watch the whole BBC Live Lounge performance and her introduction to Can't Stop Loving You is SO revealing in retrospect regarding so many of the themes we've been talking about lately in her later albums.

"The type of love that this song sings about is unconditional love. People say that term all the time and they kinda think that they know what unconditional love is, but I think true unconditional love is, like, do you love someone so much that you would even love them if they didn't love you anymore? That is unconditional love."

Um, "hoax" has entered the chat. 😳

I feel like that goes a long way to explaining why she may have believed "hoax" was romantic, and why "grey skies everyday, would you still stay" was the ultimate expression of love. "Your faithless love's the only hoax I believe in" makes a lot more sense in this context, holding onto someone who's drifting away or showing that they may not love you in the way you need or in the way you'd once been. It's kind of heartbreaking because she's so earnest and so emphatic about it, but it's actually so sad in the context of ~everything~.

Help me hold onto you. That's the kind of heartbreak time could never mend. And I can't talk to you when you're like this, staring out the window like I'm not your favorite town. Your faithless love's the only hoax I believe in. Don't want know other shade of blue but you. I'll be getting over you my whole life. (My personal opinion is that unconditional love isn't loving someone even if they leave you; it's loving someone for who they are, including their challenges, and not seeing it as a transaction but an action. ANYWAY. Semantics I guess. I find the way she explains it really devastating tbh.)

Bojan is already sloshed here. He decides that fuck that guy (he doesn't mean it), it's only in Bojan's nature to fall in love on first sight, it's nothing special or unique at all. So he looks around the bar to spot a familiar face. Of course that face is not here and so anyone else would work just as well. He clings on this random girl immediately like "love of my life, my missing part". Lovebombing much, hm? Was her friend really throwing up or were you just a bit too desperate and a bit too intense Bojči? 🤨

The song strikes me as he had already gave up on this girl before it even started. He got a plane picture and immediately went "oh woe me 😔" despite knowing very well that distance is not an issue for a relationship (hard work, but def not impossible). It's because he never expected anything real to come out of it in the first place.

This part stuck me, and many of us, as being uncharasteristically heavy for the song up to now (including the melody too). Like this heaviness has been eating him up for a long time, not just tonight. Because this part is not about the girl he met at the pub and who all he can remember is that her friend was throwing up. This part is why he was already drinking in that bar before she even showed up.

So yeah it's a song at how Bojan was missing Jere so bad and was feeling so heartbroken that he flimsily attempted to repeat what they had with another person. And at the slightest inconvenience he threw his hands up like "can nothing ever work out for me?! 🙄"

Fast forward to Bojere vacation and Jere is asking Bojan "so what next song you release? :D", and Bojan hits him with "I don't want to talk about music 😑". Because his next song is about him trying to move away from Jere. Yet here he is.

Of course they do talk about it in the end, like they talk about everything. So Jere knows. And he takes a very neat opportunity yesterday to remind Bojan that he is "his". Jere is a genius at playing with words, so while he could joke about "his" being the cut-out lutka Bojan, they both know that Jere is claiming the real Bojan, on the evening of Bojan's attempted rebound song 😌

No wonder Jere doesn't look too cheerful lol

i was certain i'd never have one, i truly adore each of those boys so so much.

i was however proven wrong after a very sweet, silly compilation of binnie being ridiculous. followed by a face cam of his sclass performance in the supreme jersey?? and the curls?? he has such amazing stage presence and he's a great dancer. but he kept going from his cute sweet binnie expressions looking like he was just so into it and having fun, to the "dark rapper" eyes and commanding stage presence. and like, wow. 🖤 i am a sucker for that kind of duality.

i was a kpop fan 2014-2017 and went all in. kcon and concerts the whole thing

but then i was just on my usual 6 hour yt shorts binge as i tried to fall asleep and saw skz reacting to the "your eyes" mv, specifically felix's part, obviously. i watched it like 12 times just cry laughing at han screaming, hyunjin trying to escape, channie hiding behind his hands and squealing. it was just so funny to see a group kind of clowning their own shit? i thought they were hilarious.

then i saw julien (solomita) had reacted to 'topline' and i was soooo into it. immediately went to watch some mvs and decided cool i'll be a totally normal casual fan of this group’s music….. :)

THEN a lovely lady i'd followed on my 10 year old tumblr account posted about skz. i messaged her that I’d finally decided to check them out and she was kind enough to answer questions and entertain my onslaught of messages as I screamed about how much I love these boys. and she still does everyday so. thank you hana 🌸

Future chapters were going to have almost a Scooby Doo vibe (with a twist reveal at the end about Aiura's husband!) I abandoned it because I posted some art and someone called my art creepy and it made the whole fic feel bad to think about. Maybe I'll get back to it someday. It's cool to see how quickly my writing improved. I was also super proud of how well I wrote Akechi's dialogue here]

Hotel Valentine

Summary: Toritsuka Reita is a pretty lucky guy. He somehow managed to not get expelled from PK Academy, he graduated, and he's avoided creeping on any living girls for a few months. To celebrate, the PK Psychics paid for a one-night stay in the fanciest hotel in Tokyo so Reita can creep on the ghost girl of his dreams. Pretty lucky, right?

Too bad things aren't going his way. He's being ignored by the staff, he's bored out of his mind, and he can't find the ghost girl anywhere. Some vacation, huh?

[Notes: Spoiler: Toritsuka's a ghost stuck in a nice hotel. This is based on a concept album that most of you have never heard but hear me out! It really has nothing to do with the Cibo Matto album of the same title except that the chapters are named after the songs and there are fun Easter eggs for fans of the album. Another slightly sad ending but not too bad]

[Notes: this is my least popular finished fic and I understand why. It's about grief and the loss of a grandparent. It's about the unique pain that a psychic would have after failing to prevent that death. There's a sad twist that TBH I think I was a little too subtle with. One of my favorites]

[Notes: Friendly Fire my fucking beloved!! In this fic, Saiki gets essentially psychic multiple sclerosis and has to deal with some complicated emotions. I don't think it's a masterpiece or anything but it was cathartic to write and I'm in love with the versions of these characters that I wrote here. So much so that I'm writing a sequel just so I can write more of them. Also, FINALLY a happy ending!!]

[Notes: The summary explains it well but also I weaved so many connections between the chapters (that are all happening at roughly the same time). It was also a lot of fun writing interactions between characters that didn't get much in canon. Also you can tell it was hot as hell when I wrote it because I definitely gave Saiki some kind of psychic heat intolerance lol]

Also this was the first fic of mine that an IRL friend read (to my knowledge) and his comment was something like "I don't know anything about your boy but he sounds autistic and gnc" and I took that as a fucking compliment! You know you've written Saiki right when people can see that shit from space]

The Disastrous Financial Situation of Saiki K

[Notes: This is my sequel to Friendly Fire but it's a lot lighter in nature. 100-Yen-Man goes around doing stuff for Saiki's friends. There are mentions of his disability from Friendly Fire and it's plot relevant but I think you can catch on even if you didn't read the original. I haven't updated in a while but I am actively working on it!! A Yumehara and Makino chapter next and then a Toritsuka chapter after that. TBH this isn't my best work and it's pretty unpopular but I'm having fun and that's all that counts)

hiii ex-camren shipper, but i still believe tbh. i listened to a couple songs off mila's new album (B.O.A.T and june gloom) both are kinda obvious camren songs to me. a decade long situationship is insane honestly, but they are both lover girls so i see them doing this. i think they've outgrown each other, but what they had was very formative and impactful so they aren't entirely sure how to let go. this is atleast my take on what camila wrote in these songs, being the most lyrically interesting ones off the album.

tbh, those two songs are the ones which DO have meaningful lyrics. at least that's what i think. idk abt others.

after listening to her first 3 albums (4, if you consider the cinderella one an album), this one's all over the place. i get that she's experimenting with new things and that's great. production wise, i'd say there're a lotta sounds that could've been included and a lotta sounds that coulda been eliminated.

coming to the lyrical part, we all know mila's a lyrical genius. she's literally the one who wrote, "see me like breath in the cold" and "i wanna dive in, what a divine moment". but this is not the same person, cuz, "im a dog, woof woof" ain't doing it for me.

"you'd never give me peace of mind, so i had to give it to myself" is not the same as "loving you was sunshine, safe and sound, a steady place to let down my defenses. but loving you had consequences"

i feel like mila's still in the denial stage, cuz denial makes u do crazy stuff. a friend of mine was in denial of her father's death due to alcoholism and she was straight up blaming witchcraft.

deep down i know that they're not together anymore. but that doesn't mean that i can't hope anymore. they're the one thing that made me anchor myself during my darkest days and i'll never let them go. mila can experiment all she wants but i know there's still the lyrical genius, emotionally fuked up mila hiding somewhere deep down.

i can only hope she'll be able to bring that side out of her. and yes anon, their relationship was very impactful. i mean, mila couldn't help but write 2 full albums and dedicate it to L. it's uncanny how much she couldn't get L out of her system. it's exactly how our mother taylor swift says, sometimes you can't help but write 2 whole albums about one person and sometimes, even if you've spent years with them, you won't even write a sentence about another.

it's just how creativity works.

but who knows?? maybe we're all wrong and maybe they both are well and truly over each other. i mean, we're talking abt stuff that happened when they were 16yrs old to 20yrs old. i'm not even the same person i was an year ago.

change is to be expected. i, specifically, am unable to digest this drastic change in mila cuz, well, i simply cannot bear to watch my baby mila grow up. i mean . . . she's cursing in songs more often now? my baby mila would never do that. but she's not a baby anymore and that's what angers (read as: saddens) me the most.

i'm just hoping for something just a little bit better, at this point, so that my heart gets consolation with a glimpse of that little part of mila who wrote 2 full masterpieces.

I've been a stay for 6 years, I've seen all the bad and the good things, and skz have been a really important part of my life. With everything that was going on, I decided to take a break from skz until this whole lose my breath era was over. Now I wanted to come back for their new album, but it just doesn't feel the same anymore. It's been months yet nothing has changed, they haven't apologized or addressed any of the concerns, they are still working with zionists. Their lyrics seems so meaningless now, this is from their new song "Head above the clouds, stand tall for the hell of it. Tower over crowds, don't pause 'cause I'm lovin' it. Heavy and I'm proud, backbone never suffering". In the past I would loved this song, but now them saying this while being silent about a genocide and happily working with zionists, just feels wrong. I know that one person leaving won't change anything, but I don't think I can support them anymore. As much as it hurts, it's time to admit that they really don't stand for what they used to.

Here are some quick thoughts on the setlist at Louis' O2 show: The color codes mean AMAZING, GREAT, and BE GONE

The Greatest: One of my favorites. Loved hearing it with a string section considering that is one of my favorites aspects of this song on the album.

Kill My Mind: The lights looked sick!!

Bigger Than Me: Another favorite. This almost made me cry, and I do not get emotional at concerts ever.

Holding on to Heartache: Thank god this was on the setlist. Such a warm atmosphere.

Face the Music: Why do I feel like the only one who goes hype for this song live? Like, do you hear those drums people

We Made It: Another favorite. I don't know if it's controversial to say I'm glad this stayed on the setlist from last tour, it's just such a well crafted song.

Drag Me Down: Whatever... at least it's better than Night Changes

Chicago: "I STILL. KNOW. YOUR. NUM-BER!!!!"

High in California: Better in the states tbh

All This Time: Don't get me started 10/10

She is Beauty: Missed the regular lights a little on this one, but the transition from ATT is so delicious, and I will always defend this song with my life. Everyone was swaying their hands during this and it was so sweet to watch from the balcony.

Copy of a Copy: He seriously needs to put this on streaming, it makes me mad.

Walls: Another favorite. Again, this almost made me cry. Sometimes it's hard for me to hear other people singing over my own, very loud singing and all of the instruments, but oh did I hear "you were my because" and the more tender "nothing wakes you up like waking up alone" ending.

Written All Over Your Face: OOOOhhhh yeah. Major highlight of the show. I love the blue/red split stage lighting, and the band sounded so cool and funky and Louis voice was incredible... I'll stop.

Back To You: Has been a favorite of mine all tour. It's just fun!

Angels Fly: I think this is where Michael had a really good guitar solo I liked, maybe? Also, the people behind me were living for this song, shout out to them.

Out of My System: Another favorite. I don't know, OOMS really had the special sauce at the O2. This song had never sounded bigger. I was jumping so much I was worried I was going to fall over the railing (hyperbole).

Saturdays: Although the light project wasn't what I was expecting, Louis sounded great, and I love how it goes from such a striped back tender moment, to this epic chanting thing... I just love the contrast between the beginning and end and how sprawling it is. I can see why Louis loves it so much.

Where Do Broken Hearts Go: I would love to ask Louis his thought process behind putting this on the setlist was.

Silver Tongues: The perfect ending. Couldn't ask for anything more.

So I didn't want to keep blowing up your messages on that post, so I'll try to respond as concisely and respectfully as I can here :)

Some of these are my opinions, some are speculation, and some are pulled directly from the Canon, but feel free to disagree all the same. This isn't me trying to argue, but tbh, I like engaging in debates/talking to people about media that I enjoy so I can get a different perspective on what to do/not as a writer. So here we go.

"That's basically the issue I take with the twist - a good chunk of the foreshadowing could be construed as Sunny feeling guilty about Mari's *suicide*, not his *manslaughter*. We're also not shown much of the process of Sunny's frustration growing until it boils over and he breaks the violin, so it just makes him flipping out at his sister feel out of left field."

I agree and that's where most of Omori's problem comes from. We're never shown the gap between when the photo album takes place and where the argument happens and I always had a feeling that it was tact on. We're told that Sunny was dealing with pain from the violin in a random throwaway line, but that was never conveyed. There should've been more of a build-up for what Sunny did, but I always saw it as more of the heat of a moment thing since the recital was happening, giving Mari a reason to be harder on him, on top of him already feeling nervous because, unless I'm mistaken, Sunny did deal with feeling nervous about the recital and only took up the violin because he wanted to spend time with her, not because he wanted to play. But nonetheless, that doesn't excuse the poor writing.

Again, feel free to disagree with him, but his breaking the violin shows where his priorities lay, and that was never on the violin, but his relationship with Mari. The violin was supposed to serve as a tool he could use to spend time with Mari, but all it ended up doing was driving them apart and having his doubts about himself fully realized because, from what we can tell, he always thought that he wasn't really good at anything (as evidence by what the books say in the Lost Library) and was more a less of a burden on his friends (which things ends up being proven to be true since his killing Mari burdens his friends AND his cowardly running away from the action stunts his growth and turns him into a being devoid of any meaning or purpose in life but to escape from the guilt he brought onto himself.)

So basically, already not feeling good enough was proven because he kept messing up his part, wanting to spend time with his sister and then indirectly driving their relationship into something that can only be indulged in if he's doing something he doesn't want to do. And I get it, "If he didn't want to, he should've said something," but tbh, it's more realistic for preteen kids to try to hang out with their "big kid" older siblings on their terms because they want to feel closer to them. My evidence? Like I said, having siblings with roughly the same age gap as Sunny and Mari.

(Ironically, I also played the violin and there were so many times my siblings wanted to play with me to spend time with me, so eh, funny coincidence there.)

11/12-year-olds are very emotional and reckless at times, and they tend to take a lot of things at surface level. I'm not attempting to justify Sunny's actions, but I've seen in action how QUICKLY rambunctious they get, ESPECIALLY in arguments or physical altercations with siblings.

My issue with Omori is that Mari is displayed as perfect and NOT the typical sibling, which makes their fight unrealistic to me. Sunny at the moment was a realistic child, but you can't honestly expect me to believe that someone as perfectly shown as Mari would've got into a physical altercation with Sunny in good faith, no matter how angry she was.

Mari needed to be aged closer to Sunny and to be closer to the average sibling for the fight to have been believable. Give a reason for the fight to be believable, because fights between siblings resulting in more harm than what was intended occurs A LOT in real life, age gaps be damned, but part of the emotional impact needs to be about the siblings' closeness, so why not just show a normal sibling relationship with ups and downs rather than this idealistic "mother-son" bond that they had?

That's what breaks it for me. In this case, yes, I believe that with how perfectly Mari was displayed, they should've gone for a suicide angle, whereas if they wanted to do a "younger sibling accidentally killed older sibling" they needed to make said older sibling believable. But I guess they thought that if Mari wasn't showcased as perfect, then the audience wouldn't have been endeared to her, which is just stupid logic because Aubrey is a problematic character (tbh they all are), and yet a lot of people still like her? Omocat confuses me sometimes.

Sunny should've had to explore the implications of the suicide while also piecing together that Mari WASN'T a perfect person, but the game seems to want to double down on that for some reason. You can't have your cake and eat it too game; either she was a good person who never would've engaged with her brother to such an angry and jarring degree OR she was a flawed, realistic person who got into a fight with her brother over a stressful thing that neither of them could communicate properly on, but the game doesn't seem to want to explore either of those things. Headspace Mari being perfect makes sense. He killed her. The least he can do is idolize her and make her an "angel figure." But then real world Mari is ALSO idealized? And I'm just like, that doesn't make any sense, but sure, ok...

Ok, so here's where I start to disagree a bit. Sunny shouldn't feel shame (which is what I think you mean rather than guilt, but I could be mistaken", he should feel guilty. And I'm sure you going to ask, "Well what's the difference?" (Or maybe you already know, and it's my fault for assuming you don't.)

Shame, in this case, is a selfish thing. What Sunny did was a selfish thing. He killed his sister, albeit accidentally, and then pretty much hid said shame under the guise of an idealistic dream."

Guilt is feeling bad because you did a bad thing to another person, shame is believing you ARE a bad person. The guilt never goes away, it's the shame that does. Guilt is a healthy thing, shame typically isn't (it depends on the action tbh.)

The problem with shame is that it doesn't drive anyone to do anything but wallow in self-pity. If you truly believe you're a bad person, then 9 times out of 10, you're not going to make the effort to prove said belief wrong because shame goes deeper than a thought process. It's an entire evaluation of your character that doesn't even have to exist because you did something wrong, some people just feel shame naturally. Shame is heavily related to OCD (guilt can be too, but people with shame-related OCD usually believe they're bad people rather than they simply did/thought a bad thing).

Whereas you're constantly in a cycle of blaming yourself and feeling terrible and as a result of being in said cycle of shame, you never FORWARD yourself, and if you never do that, then you never take the time to try to right the person(s) you wronged.

Sunny should feel guilty and it's never said that it goes away, he still did a terrible thing to another person and as long as that fact remains, the guilt will always be there. It's the belief that he's an inherently evil person that goes away.

Guilt is healthy, shame isn't, and it's the guilt that drives him to come clean in the first place and the shame that drives him to, well, *glances at a bad ending.*

I feel like this is an issue with Omori fans when they say that Omori embodies the guilt because that's not true, he embodies that shame.

And we can see the logic, "I did a bad thing, so I'm bad and therefore I don't deserve to live," (and tbh I feel like the only people who don't deserve to live when they do bad things are like, r@pists and people into children and serial killers,) not a child who unintentionally killed their older sibling. Now if it was an older child who intentionally killed their younger sibling, I could see an argument there, but like I said, as a big sister, I couldn't in good faith believe that a younger sibling deserves to die over something they did unintentionally when they were twelve.

Whether or not Sunny is an inherently evil person once he's older is up to you when, but again, I can't as an older sibling say I wouldn't forgive my sibling for doing something to me like that. Maybe that's just me, but that's how I feel about it.

Maybe it's not for everyone to agree on, but I couldn't see myself being angry/not forgiving my sibling over an accident, especially for causing said accident when they were twelve.

Honestly, the thing that's driving a lot of the annoyance and frustration towards Taylor Swift...I might get killed for this but fans?? It's your own fault. This one suprised me because he fully prepped me with the preshow and tour bus playlists and recs that I thought it would be so heavy on the greatest and ooms and silver tongues kinda sounds? And unfortunately I do like my noise and I do believe he's loves his noise and I do think he wants to move towards noise? So my response was more of a what happened lol maybe I misjudged it maybe he's still kinda careful and easing us into it (tbh I think this) and it's for lt3 or maybe this is just what he's more comfortable with (and a lil this). Not that I think he doesn't love this sound. Or that I don't love this sound. Just didn't anticipate this many softieboppies that's all. Expectations were high and he fking met them don't get me wrong I just didn't expect this ALSO yeah it's crazy he just did it all lol.

Sonically she feels timeless like she belongs in the 60s 70s 80s 90s- projected into the future- projected into AUs- she belongs wherever she goes i don't know how to explain it I don't have the knowledge but she's just a lil bit of every era and never too much she's just out there being the sidecharacter in all of them sorry she's not the main but she's there she's definitely there

T H E TITLE is everything like going for a track called Headline being someone who has been the subject of many shit headlines over the years is just very hot no matter the context or how its used as a metaphor, but then so casually "you used to read me like a headline" that can be taken many ways both positive and negative is just oof chefs kiss.

For the rest of the song lyrically I don't have much to say, there's not many plays on words I can break down over or not that I've noticed yet apart from the links with the rest of the album in the first verse which I'll get to in the end, and the concept isn't relatable to me either so yeah eh shrug on them oop.

It's like this first verse makes this song belong on this album. To me it actually feels like this is what he tweaked to make it fit on this album. And then that stops and just kinda bops on I guess 🙆🏻‍♀️
