— Ughh..he’s such a cutie🥹 But anyways..he is definitely the most loving and giving boyfriend EVER
— I feel like he would kind of..blast the relationship? But in a good way. Just because he’s so proud to be with you.
— Your dates more than likely consist of quality time together. Going to a restaurant he rented out completely, a movie maybe? Just whatever it is, it’s only the two of you + workers
— You show interest in something while you guys are out? He buys it and you’ll find it on the bed randomly like a week later..sorry not sorry.
— He has you everywhere with him. I truly think quality time and gift giving are him main love languages..
— You’ll be backstage at each of his shows, your support is his strength (Armies is the only thing that means more)
— You work? Expect flowers at your workplace at LEAST once a week. Maybe more.
— You’re graduating from college? He’ll be in front row cheering for you the loudest.
— His family loves you, family is a huge thing for him so it means a great deal that they like you.
— You’re at a party and a song he knows you love comes on? Maybe you’re a little shy? To bad. He’s dragging you onto the dance floor and pulling you out of your shell.
— If for some reason you argue, better fix it before bedtime cause going to bed angry isn’t happening. He’ll stay up for a week if he has to. You’ll talk it out.
— While he is in military he keeps in contact with you as much as possible, sends letters whenever he has down time.
— When he gets out you’re the first person he runs to.
— I do feel like marriage won’t happen very fast, while I do think the relationship progresses fast marriage is something he wants to take his time getting to.
— Your relationship with the other boys in the band is close, they all adore you as well and that means a lot to him to.
— I feel like he’s always on top of your daily routine, constantly making sure you’re eating properly and drinking enough water.
— God forbid you ever get sick..
— He would quite literally turn into a mother hen. Every sneeze is met with him coddling you and forcing more water down your throat
— He wants you to do tiktok trends with him. Sorry. You have to, his rules.
— Armies eat up every post he makes that you’re in.
— If you’re in a bad mood for any reason you’d be met with flowers, your favorite snacks and a relaxing bath when you get home.
— I don’t think he’d be outwardly protective but if ANYONE disrespected you he’d step in.
— He knows you can take care of yourself but you don’t have to when he’s there.
— His favorite things are singing/rapping and dance so you’ll be joining him in that. While you’re making dinner or doing laundry he’ll randomly grab you and just..sing and shake you forcing you to dance 😂
— Your laugh and smile are his favorite thing ever. Doesn’t matter how long you’ve been together, everything he does is to earn a smile from you.
— I do think when he gets upset he gets a temper though, snapping at you once or twice but the second he realizes what he’s done he’s apologizing and practically on his knees begging you to forgive him.
THE END
(Sorry for disappearing!! I’m back though, i’ve missed you all 💜🥺)

---
Stiles was getting sick and tired of the complete and utter blackness that came with a magic-deprivation sleep. Not only did the darkness feel a little too much like his time while being possessed by the Nogitsune, but it also sucked total ass.
This time, the world didn’t come back slowly. No. It forced its way back into being. One moment he was drifting in the nothingness and the next he was gasping for air, eyes wide as he clutched the blankets around him with a white-knuckle grip.
Stiles could feel Deaton hovering somewhere in the room, his druidic magic sharper and more sterile than Stiles’ own. Once his breathing returned to something more normal, he turned on him with a scowl. “I’m assuming this abrupt trip back to the land of the living is your doing?”
Deaton simply let out an amused chuckle then went back to tinkering with his ingredients at a table across the room. Or at least that’s what it sounded like. Stiles wouldn’t know because he was still having trouble getting his heart under control; it was beating so fast, he was sure it would escape his chest any second.
“Please don’t do that again,” Stiles spit out, trying his best to form complete sentences. His whole body hurt and his head felt full of cotton. But the worst was the constant, numb ache hovering in his chest where his spark lay; it pulsed erratically in its weakened state. Deaton had woken him entirely too soon and Stiles knew he was going to be paying for it over the next few weeks.
Deaton gave him a long look. “Well we didn’t exactly have a choice. You encased the entire pack in a powerful ward, the likes of which I’ve never seen. We need answers.” He walked to the side of Stile’s bed, staring down at him like he was a puzzle that needed to be solved.
Stiles sighed and sat up carefully, every muscle screaming at him as he did so. He rubbed his face roughly as if he could clean away the exhaustion if he put enough elbow grease in it. “How long was it this time?” He was too tired to deal with Deaton right now.
“Almost 48 hours.”
Stiles blanched at him. The Hales were probably going out of their minds. Stiles moved to get up but all he got was a sharp tug in his chest that sent him curling in on himself. 48 hours may have been longer than he wanted, but it definitely wasn’t long enough to recuperate from the magical deprivation he had put himself through. He couldn’t remember much of what happened that night; just the feeling of immense power leaving him in a short amount of time, with the singular thought that he needed to protect the Hales from Jennifer. Protect Derek.
Ughh, he was not looking forward to seeing what his spark came up with to accomplish that. He rubbed his face again for good measure and decided to just get it over with.
“Okay, lay it on me. What happened?”
The raised eyebrows on Deaton were new - he had never seen such expressive faces from the Druid in his reality. “You don’t know?” He sounded incredulous.
Stiles scratched the back of his neck in embarrassment, the habit so automatic that it happened despite the immense pain his body was in. “Yeah, sorry. My spark relies heavily on intent so even though I have a pretty good grasp on it, I can’t always control how it will manifest.”
Deaton looked absolutely baffled. Like he couldn’t understand why Stiles would go around using his spark if he didn’t have complete and utter control of it first; it had been a point of contention for them as he was training under the Druid in his reality, and it seemed like it would be the same here.
Deaton managed to gather himself fairly quickly. “Your spark, created a dome around the house and its surrounding area, made of pure magic. It doesn’t seem to be causing any harm to those trapped within, but we are trapped. No one has been able to pass through since it–” he paused like he was looking for the right word before giving up and just using the information Stiles had offered, “manifested.”
Now that… was actually pretty fucking cool. His spark had never turned his magic into something solid before. And it sounds like it was acting almost like… “Like mountain ash?”
“Similarly, yes, though it's obvious that it does more than that.”
“What do you mean?”
“It seems to also act as a ward. Talia noticed it first, when someone had crossed the tree-line into the preserve, but the rest of the pack felt it as they grew closer.”
“So it’s acting as a warning, on top of a barrier.”
Deaton nodded, “It seems so. But I’ve never encountered something quite like this before so we don’t have much information to go on.” He gave Stiles a wry look.
“Hence, the abrupt return to consciousness.”
“Yes. We were hoping that you would be able to shed some light on the situation.” Deaton grimaced before continuing. “The pack is getting anxious, cooped up in the house without any answers. What little yard the dome provided, isn’t enough for a full pack of werewolves with an ich to run.”
Stiles took a deep breath, held it for four seconds, and slowly released it. “Okay.” He nodded while he thought through a tentative plan and then started again. “Okay. I may not know how exactly it manifested, but I should be able to figure out what it does. At the very least, I can tell you that the intentions behind the initial spell were safety and protection so as long as it’s up, the Hale Pack is safe.”
This got a curious squint from Deaton. “What makes you so sure? Intention-based magic can be dangerous and unpredictable; it’s more closely aligned to fae magic than your standard witch or druid. You say you can’t always control how a spell manifests so what’s to say that your spark didn’t take that to mean protection from themselves or protection from each other? What if the dome means to keep them, us, isolated here without contact to the outside world, or without access to more food and medicine?”
Every word was like a blow. Stiles felt his gaze go cold and his expression stony as the anger rose within him. In a low, deliberate voice he said, “I am the emissary and Alpha Mate of the Hale Pack. The magic of this land runs through my bones, even here, in a reality different from my own. I would never bring harm upon my own.” He spit the last part out like the sharp edge of a knife, needing Deaton to understand that his loyalty to his pack was everything to him; it wasn’t something that could be ripped from him, even across realities.
Deaton’s eyes went wide but he eventually nodded his understanding. It was enough for Stiles to relax the ire in his voice before he continued. “Look. My spark can be unpredictable and surprising, but never once has it betrayed me and my intentions. I cast that spell with the sole intention of keeping the Hale Pack safe and I know, deep in my bones, that the dome will provide that safety. As long as it’s active, we are not in danger. The Hales are not in danger.”
Deaton looked satisfied enough with his speech so Stiles leaned his head back against the cool wall behind him, taking a moment to gather himself. God was he exhausted.

Don't Lie to the God of Lies - Part 2
Word count: 5100
Warnings: ruthless Loki, ruthless Bucky… yeah just ruthless. Mmhmm.
This is a three-prompt-inspired fic - incorporating requests for Don't Lie to the God of Lies part 2, a Loki/Bucky tagteam, and a Prompt by an anon requesting reader pranking Bucky until he finally decides to get back at them.
Today is also exactly 6 months since posting my first fic, which just so happens to be part 1 of this new fic! It’s crazy to think how much I’ve written and how many kind people have interacted with my posts since then 💚💚
Read Part 1
Tumblr media
The damned god wasn’t ticklish. Not one bit. If he was, then he was damn good at hiding it.
You tried every ticklish spot you could think of, and he simply allowed you to do it, even raising his arms to allow free access to his entire torso. He didn’t even flinch. And the smile on his face? That was a haughty smirk, one that simply oozed ‘I-told-you-so.’
You had to literally beg him on your knees not to tell anyone your secret. He finally agreed, only because he was getting sick of your groveling. But making deals with the devil was never free. He had conditions, and you had to abide by them, or he wouldn’t be holding up his end of the bargain.
He and Bucky had been in some kind of unspoken feud for about a week now. Bucky had apparently drunk an entire bottle of Loki’s Asgardian mead, having discovered that he could actually feel a little bit tipsy from the liquor despite his super soldier serum. Loki had been plotting revenge ever since he’d confronted the metal-armed soldier and gotten no more than a shrug in response. He had a few pranks planned out, of course. But why get his hands dirty when he could make you do it for him?
“You want me to prank Bucky. Repeatedly.” You stared at Loki incredulously, wondering if he was pulling your leg. His face remained completely serious as he nodded, brows raised in confusion.
“Yes, that… is what I said, is it not?”
You began to laugh humorlessly. “Loki – I can’t! If Bucky found out it was me, I’d be in so much trouble!”
“Then it’s best you avoid giving yourself away,” he suggested facetiously, his lips curling up into a smirk. “Wouldn’t want to be on the Winter Soldier’s bad side, would you?”
“Ughh, Loki!” you groaned in frustration, running your hands through your hair, beginning to pace anxiously. “Is this really my only way out? You can’t come up with anything else?”
“Darling need I remind you that you’ve been strutting about, touting the fact that you’re not ticklish to anyone who dare even try to prove otherwise. This is a considerable secret you want me to keep. And that comes at a price.”
You paused, taking a deep breath before turning to face Loki again. “Fine. What do I have to do?”
Loki briefed you on the revenge he had plotted for the super soldier. Admittedly, you couldn't deny that his ideas were pretty funny and, surprisingly, didn't involve all that much magic. You tried to look at the bright side - at least if you were going to have to put yourself at risk of Bucky catching you, you were going to have a little fun doing it.
The next morning, you awoke to a knocking at your door. It was still dark outside, the sun only just barely peeking up over the horizon. Groggily, you staggered to your bedroom door and opened it to find Loki standing on the other side. You gasped a little, running your hands through your hair to smooth the knots that had formed in your sleep as your face began to burn, knowing Loki was seeing you in such a state.
"Wh-what are you doing here so early, Loki?" you whispered, trying to suppress a yawn.
"As you may recall, Barnes awakens quite early to go for his morning run before the sun rises," he reminded you, his eyes skimming over your oversized sleep shirt and cotton shorts. You wrapped your arms self-consciously around yourself.
“Ok - which prank are you asking me to pull, then?”
Bucky had a rather specific routine in the morning. He went for a run, he returned to the compound, he showered, and he sat down to have his morning coffee. He took his coffee the same way every morning - a teaspoon of sugar and a splash of cream. Your job? Replace the sugar with salt before he returned.
"Isn't this kind of a juvenile prank?" you asked as you opened the sugar bowl, pouring the sugar out into a separate bowl to empty it.
"That is the point, darling. Would you suspect that I, the God of Mischief, performed such a 'juvenile' prank, as you call it?"
"... Fair enough." You poured salt into the dish and replaced the cover, hiding the bowl with the sugar in the back of a cabinet. "There. Happy now? Can I go back to sleep?"
"Oh, I don't think so. We've got more work to do."
You groaned, rubbing your eyes groggily. "Fine, but you're going to wait until I have my own cup of coffee."
"Be my guest." He turned to exit the kitchen, pausing in the doorway. "Don't use the sugar dish - you'll be sorry." You rolled your eyes, hiding an amused smirk as you turned on the coffee maker.
As you left the kitchen with your coffee mug, Bucky passed by you with a gruff 'good morning' on his way to the coffee maker. You kept a straight face as you said good morning, taking a sip of your coffee as you continued on to meet Loki and prepare the next prank. A sudden shout of disgust from down the hall told you Bucky had encountered your trick. You only hoped he didn't suspect you because you'd been the last in the kitchen.
Next up was probably your favorite of Loki's ideas. You waited patiently in the common room, watching television with Steve until Bucky came in to join the two of you. He eyed you warily when he entered the room, but didn't say anything as you looked back at him with pure innocence written on your face. Taking a seat beside Steve on the sofa, he placed his phone on the armrest and began to make casual conversation.
You had a sense he was already beginning to suspect you, and so you knew you had to tread carefully. You participated in conversation with the two super soldiers, interjecting occasionally where it made sense and otherwise pretending to watch the television. After you'd sat there long enough for Bucky to let his guard down a bit more, you stood and exited the room under the ruse of having to use the restroom. As you passed the sofa, you took mental note of where Bucky's cell phone was sitting. Your best shot at appearing innocent was to wait until you returned to take his phone - he wouldn't suspect you took it right from under his nose and then sat right back down in the living room.
Sure enough, when you returned you casually swiped the phone from the arm of the sofa, stuffing it in your back pocket before taking your seat on the arm chair. You waited casually, wanting Bucky to notice the phone was missing while you were still sitting there in the room so you could lead him to believe your innocence. It took a surprisingly long time for him to reach for his phone, having been caught up in a lively conversation with his best friend. You watched as he blindly patted his palm around the sofa arm without looking, turning his head only when he realized he couldn't find it.
"Where's my phone?" His eyes darted immediately to you, narrowing suspiciously. "Alright, where'd you put it?"
"Huh? What do you mean, where'd I put it? Why would I take your phone?" you asked, feigning ignorance.
"Don't lie to me. I know you're guilty." He rose to his feet, approaching the chair to stand over you threateningly. You held your hands up in surrender.
"Search me if you'd like. I didn't take your phone, Buck."
"Maybe I will." He pressed his tongue against the inside of his cheek, studying you as though trying to discern whether you were being honest. You held your arms out, palms up flat.
"Seriously, Buck. I don't have it."
"We'll see about that." He patted his hands along your long sleeves, running them down along your sides. You knew what he was trying to do when he dug his fingertips into your ribs and sides on the way down. Luckily, you'd prepared for it and maintained your straight face despite how badly it tickled.
"Buck, I've told you I'm not ticklish already - why do you bother trying?" you asked teasingly as his hands left your sides, a scowl etched across his face. "Do you believe me now? I don't have your phone."
"You must have hidden it somewhere," he scoffed, folding his arms across his chest.
"Seriously? Why do you think I'm out to get you today??"
"Oh, come on! Like I don't know you were the one who put salt in the sugar dish this morning. Why are you pranking me?"
You snorted. "Someone put salt in the sugar dish?? Is that why you yelled this morning?"
His face melted from irritated suspicion to confusion, his heavy brow furrowing. "Yeah, they did. You didn't know? You were walking out with a coffee when I went in the kitchen this morning."
You shrugged. "Don't take sugar in my coffee."
Bucky seemed to buy it finally, his arms relaxing by his sides. "Well somebody took it. It was right here next to me." He turned and walked out of the room, grumbling about how he was going to catch the culprit in the act. You looked up at Steve, who was eyeing you thoughtfully.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" you asked.
"No reason. You just seem pretty defensive for someone who didn't pull these pranks."
"I'm not -"
"Look, I don't want to get in the middle of... whatever is going on. But let me tell you from experience - Bucky doesn't take pranks sitting down. He will seek revenge."
"Well, I'll keep that in mind if I ever decide to prank him," you insisted, standing up and adjusting your sweater to cover the part of Bucky's phone that stuck out of your back pocket. "If you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go find someone to hang out with who doesn't look at me like I've committed some sort of crime."
Steve chuckled, waving you off dismissively as you left the room. "I'd avoid Bucky if I were you."
You headed up to your bedroom, shutting the door behind you before taking a seat in the middle of your bed and pulling Bucky's phone out of your pocket. Opening his settings, you began changing his autocorrect feature to replace common words like 'and' and 'the' with the word 'dork' - a harmless prank, but god was it going to be funny when he couldn't figure out how to fix it.
"I see you've succeeded in getting Barnes' phone without detection."
You leapt a mile into the air, turning to find Loki leaning against your desk. "Loki! God, I'm gonna put a bell on you or something. Could you announce yourself next time??"
"Now, darling, there's no fun in that." He paced over to where you sat, leaning over your shoulder to look at the screen as you worked.
"To respond to your statement - no, I didn't completely evade detection. He's beginning to suspect me."
"How unfortunate."
"Loki!" You looked up from the phone screen, glaring at the nonplussed god. "I'm serious! He gave me a pat-down because he thought I took his phone!"
"You did."
"Not the point. He's suspicious, and if I keep pulling pranks he's gonna figure it out. And according to Steve, he doesn't let people get away with making a fool of him without consequences. If Steve is afraid to prank him, what's he gonna do to me?"
Loki shrugged. "I suppose you'll just need to be more careful."
"You're seriously gonna make me go through with the last prank?"
"Unless you want me to announce your little secret."
You groaned, pressing your fingers to the bridge of your nose. "Loki, if I ever find any dirt on you, you'd better believe I'm gonna blackmail you just as hard as you're blackmailing me."
Loki chuckled, rumbling deep in his throat. "Good luck with that, darling." Without another word, he strode out of your room, leaving you to finish your task.
A thought occurred to you just then. You knew exactly how you could get the blame off of you, and implicate Loki in all of this, without him ever being the wiser. Smirking, you returned to Bucky's phone settings and got to work enacting your plan.
The final prank was going to be the most challenging to pull off without getting caught. Somehow, you had to attach a small circular device to his metal arm somewhere, which would disengage the appendage when activated. It would be pretty funny to see his face when his arm just randomly pops off. But he already suspected you, and so you knew he couldn't see you when you attached the device or he'd immediately know you'd done it. You hoped Bucky's suspicion of Loki was growing after he discovered your last prank.
You hadn't expected the perfect opportunity to just drop into your lap, but here you were. As you wandered down the hallway toward the kitchen, you overheard a heated debate in the common room between the metal-armed soldier and the dark-haired prince of Asgard. Silently, you crept toward the door, keeping out of sight while you listened to find out what was going on.
"I don't know why I didn't realize this was you from the very beginning! It's so obvious!" Bucky exclaimed with irritation.
"Barnes - I am telling you the truth, believe it or not. I did not perform these pranks," Loki insisted, calmly and coolly.
"Then why does my phone suddenly autocorrect everything to say 'Loki rules'?" Bucky demanded. You threw your hand over your mouth to prevent a laugh from escaping. So he had discovered what you did.
"Think about it for a moment. Why would I implicate myself in such an obvious manner if I were the one who pulled this on you?" Loki reasoned. Bucky was silent for a beat. You poked your head cautiously around the doorway to get an idea of where the men were positioned. They were seated on the sofa facing away from the door, with Bucky on the left side facing toward Loki on the right. Perfect.
You ducked down low and hurried silently to crouch behind the back of the couch. Sliding the device from your pocket, you hobbled silently around the side of the couch, swiftly pressing the device onto the outer side of his upper arm, the vibranium cool against your warm palm. Wasting no time, you hurried out of the room before they finished their argument, returning to hide in your bedroom and avoid Bucky for a bit. For good measure, you pulled out the remote to the device you'd planted on Bucky's arm and activated it. It was a shame you wouldn't get to witness his reaction, but it would certainly help to put the suspicion on Loki, seeing as he was the only person in the room with Bucky.
You spent most of the afternoon hiding out in your room, waiting what felt like a long enough duration of time that the last prank would have either blown over, or Bucky would have already hashed it out with Loki. Eventually, though, you needed to show your face again in the public areas of the compound. It would be just as suspicious for you to hide for the entire night.
It was in your routine to hit the gym in the late afternoon before dinner, so you put on a pair of leggings and a tank top and headed down as you normally would to try to adhere to a sense of normalcy. It'd be in your best interest to let Bucky see you following your usual schedule.
The rest of the gym was empty at this time. This was typically the case - exactly the reason why you preferred working out this time of day. Placing your water bottle in the corner, you headed over to the sparring area where there were cushioned mats so you could stretch out before beginning your workout. You sat on the floor, bending one knee and straightening out the other leg so you could stretch your hamstring.
"I thought I might find you in here."
Your heart leapt into your throat when you heard Bucky's voice from the doorway, but you hid it well. Tilting your head up at a non-startled speed, you offered Bucky a smile in greeting.
"Hey, Buck. Did you figure out who took your phone yet?"
"I did, yeah." He meandered into the room, approaching the side of the sparring arena. You turned your attention back to your stretches and waited for him to elaborate, but he didn't say any more, merely standing by the edge where the mats began.
"So... who was it?"
"I think you know who it was."
You turned to look at him again, shifting to sit cross-legged on the floor. "Bucky - we've been over this -"
"You can drop the act. He told me everything."
Damn.
"Who told you everything?" you asked, trying to sound confused.
"I did."
You looked up to find Loki striding into the room, coming to a halt at Bucky's side. His expression was smug, positively dripping with mischievous glee. You rose to your feet, deciding it would be best if you were prepared to flee on a moment's notice.
"Oh, he did, did he?" you asked sarcastically, meeting Loki's eye with a confident stare. Your eyes shifted to look at Bucky, jutting your chin toward Loki as you spoke. "Did he also tell you he was the one who made me pull all those pranks?"
"He did." Bucky didn't appear annoyed, or at least, not at Loki. Confused, you tilted your head in a silent request for an explanation. "We decided that the two of us are even now, since I did drink his mead, after all."
"Oh. Well, great. Glad you made amends then." Not liking where this seemed to be heading, you headed to the corner to grab your water bottle and get the hell out of there while you still could.
"Don't you want to know what else he told me?" Bucky asked. Despite the fact you were facing away from him, you could hear the smirk in his tone. Against your better instincts, you froze on the spot, whipping around to shoot Loki a panicked look.
"You didn't."
"Oh, I did."
You bolted.
The only problem was the mischievous duo was standing between you and your exit. In a desperate attempt to get past them, you tried to catch them off guard, sprinting straight toward them and diving into a somersault to duck under their reach. You popped right back up to your feet and kept running, a skill you were thankful to have learned as an agent.
You turned your head to look over your shoulder and see where they were, startled to find they weren't there. It dawned on you, as you ran directly into a solid form, that Loki had played a trick on you.
"NO! Loki! You ALWAYS do that!!" you cried in frustration as he wrapped his arms around you, preventing you from escaping in his tight grasp.
"And yet you always fall for it. Why is that, darling?" You groaned into his chest in frustration, deciding to save your energy rather than fighting his hold. "Barnes - you recall what I told you?"
"Oh I remember." You gasped as you felt his hands rest on your back, just below your shoulder blades - the trigger point that had given you away in the first place.
It wasn't as though you didn't want this to happen. After yesterday, when Loki had discovered your lie and did his damnedest to make you regret it, you'd anticipated it would only be a matter of time before he told the others. In a way, you'd actually found it fun - and, not to mention, you didn't mind having the trickster's full and undivided attention. But you had an innate sense of self-preservation that you couldn't ignore. You couldn't just stand there complacently and allow the two to tickle you to tears.
"Wow, you're already so tense! Loki, you weren't kidding."
"I'd never jest about this," he responded, leaning back a bit to look down at your face while still holding your arms tight to your sides. You looked up at him with your most pleading face, silently begging him to release you. He chuckled, his smirk only broadening. "You crossed both Barnes and myself today, and you think giving me an adorable pouting look will make me change my mind?"
"You think I'm adorable?" you asked, smirking. His eyes narrowed as his cheeks began to turn red, looking up over your shoulder to Bucky.
"Do your worst."
And gods, he did.
It was worse than you remembered from the evening before - perhaps because last night you didn't have someone trapping you in a bear hug to hold you still at the same time. Especially since that someone was now Loki. Perhaps it had something to do with the fact that Bucky had one human hand and one solid metal one - two very different sensations, but equally as ticklish.
There was no hiding it; you were already far too flustered by the whole situation to try to pretend like he wasn't tickling you. You exploded into immediate hysterics, writhing in Loki's arms to try to break his hold on you.
"Wohohow! This is gold!" Bucky exclaimed in awe, kneading his thumbs in tight circles into the backs of your ribs. Your knees buckled, the entirety of your weight leaning heavily into Loki's front.
"Now that you've got her laughing, you'll find she's actually ticklish everywhere. Watch." Loki began to scratch at your sides where his hands rested. Bucky didn't ease up in his torment either - in fact, if anything, he made it worse by digging his fingers into the sides of your upper ribs while continuing to toggle his thumbs into that awful trigger point. You buried your face into Loki's chest and let out a shrill, muffled scream. It seemed to surprise even the mischievous trickster, as he paused his torment for a moment and nodded at Bucky to pause as well.
"You... you guys... are such jerks..." you panted, face still buried in Loki's shoulder.
"Perhaps if you'd simply pranked Barnes as requested without trying to sell me out, you'd be spared from my vengeance," Loki goaded.
"OR if you'd told Loki you WOULDN'T do it, maybe I wouldn't have had to get revenge," Bucky added.
"Oh, bull shit, Bucky," you argued, looking over your shoulder at the super soldier. "You and I both know that as soon as Loki told you the truth, you'd have been testing it out as soon as you could get your hands on me."
"You're probably right," he agreed, grinning. "Loki, you want a go?"
"What?! No, he does NOT 'want a go' Bucky!" you demanded.
"Quite the contrary, actually. Barnes, if you would."
You shrieked in protest as you felt Bucky's hands close around your arms just above your elbows, pulling you from Loki's grasp and pinning your arms behind your back. You felt your face burning hot as Loki eyed you predatorily, shrinking into Bucky under his gaze.
"Hello, darling," he said with a teasing grin.
"Still think I'm adorable?" you retorted cheekily. He stepped a bit closer, looking you in the eye as he wiggled his fingers in the air just inches from your belly. Your abdominal muscles contracted to avoid his fingers, an anticipatory smile already tugging at your lips.
"It's adorable, yes - watching you squirm despite the fact I'm not even tickling you yet."
"L-Loki! Dohon't!"
"You think that's going to stop me?" His fingertips made contact with your belly, barely grazing along the skin. "You think I don't know that you don't mind this as much as you pretend to?"
"Wh-whahat??"
"You heard me." He applied slightly more pressure with his fingers, scratching lightly at the sides of your belly. Drawing your bottom lip up between your teeth, you tried desperately to hold back the giggles threatening to spill from your mouth as Loki played at your resolve. "Tell me I'm wrong, and I'll stop."
"I...Ihi-HEHEY!!" Not waiting for your response, given it was taking you so long to provide it, Loki began to claw into your belly with both hands. You doubled over, bursting into giggles. Bucky held fast to your arms despite your thrashing, chuckling behind you at your predicament.
"Damn, you are ticklish everywhere. How the hell do you hide it so well?" Bucky asked curiously.
"I'm... traiHAHA… trained to withstand TOHORTURE!" you explained through sporadic laughter.
"Torture? That's an awfully strong word, seeing as you're enjoying this so much."
"BUCKY!" Your face burned impossibly hotter, and Loki removed his tickling fingers from your belly. Gasping for breath, you made a show of it by looking down at the floor with your hair tousled over your face, hiding your colored cheeks.
"I think we're flustering the young agent," Loki snickered, lifting your chin with two fingers.
"Where else is she ticklish?"
"Nope! Nowhere else! Uh-uh!" you protested, shaking your head frantically.
"Oh, I know just the spot! Hold her there for a moment." Loki stepped around behind you to take Bucky's place, circling his arms around your waist before suddenly dragging you down to sit on the ground. Bucky cocked his head in confusion. "Her feet are quite ticklish."
You yelped in protest. "What?! No! Bucky, I swear, don't you even THINK about it!"
"It's too late for that - I already thought about it," he teased, kneeling by your feet and reaching for your ankles. You jerked your feet away from his reach, planting them firmly on the floor right in front of you.
"I don't think so, darling." Loki held your waist with one arm and reached for your knee, pinching above your kneecap. With a spluttering giggle, you kicked your leg out, right into Bucky's reach to grab your ankle. Once Bucky had hold of both ankles, Loki threw one leg over your shins to hold your legs out straight while Bucky removed your sneakers.
"Wait, WAHAHAIT! Guhuhuys!!" You knew you were beginning to sound whiny, but you didn't much care. As the cool air of the room chilled your socked feet, you gave Bucky the same pleading look you'd offered Loki earlier. He was equally as impervious to your pouting.
"This is for putting the salt in my coffee AND making me believe you hadn't done it!" Bucky began scratching along the soles of your feet with both hands, grinning when you threw your head back into Loki's shoulder and let out a rapid stream of giggles. "Aww, now that's adorable!"
"Buhuhucky!! Stohohop teasing mehehe! You're such a jeheherk!"
"Now that's no way to speak to the soldier!" Loki scolded playfully, digging his fingers into your ribcage. You batted at Loki's hands weakly as your giggling intensified to belly laughter.
"No-no-NOHOHO LOKI! GUHUYS!!" You were finding very little success in fighting either of them off, practically melting into Loki with desperate laughter. Giving up on tugging at Loki's hands, you let them rest on his knees on either side of you, squeezing into the muscle above his kneecap as he discovered a particularly sensitive spot at the bottom of your ribs.
You didn't expect the god to yelp in surprise, his fingers suddenly stilling against your ribcage. Bucky halted his attack as well, startled by the sudden jolt by the trickster god.
"Loki?" You turned your head to look at the red-faced trickster, a wide smirk painted across your face. "Something you want to tell me?"
"Not a word," he growled.
"Oh, don't try to hide it! You ARE ticklish!" You squeezed rapidly at his knees for emphasis, giggling as he began to laugh and squirm to evade your fingers. "I am SO getting revenge!"
"I think not, darling."
"Bucky? Do you think you'd be willing to help me out here?"
"Help you pick on Loki? Absolutely." Before Loki could react, Bucky shifted his hands to pin down Loki's ankles, holding fast. You continued to pinch ruthlessly at his knees, pleased with yourself for stumbling upon the one spot that drew laughter from the God of Mischief.
"BARNES! RELEHEHEASE ME!" Loki demanded loudly.
"That's no way to talk to the soldier, Loki," you mimicked, sliding your fingers underneath his knees to scratch at the delicate skin through the material of his pants. This seemed to be even more effective, as his laughter actually pitched up in volume and his arms constricted around you more tightly in a desperate attempt to pull your hands away from his knees.
He began to weakly tickle your ribs again in a last-ditch effort to get you to falter in your efforts to torment him. It worked, surprising you enough to make you drag your arms back to block your ribs and begin to giggle ticklishly again.
"OK, OK TRUHUHUCE!" you pleaded. Loki relented, and Bucky released him, chuckling at the pair of you.
"Wow. I gotta say - it's not every day that you witness a tickle fight between an Avenger and a god," he snickered, rising to his feet and offering you a hand up. You accepted it, turning to help Loki to his feet as well.
"You'd be wise not to breathe a word of this to anyone else," Loki growled at him.
"Uh, yeah, I agree, you need to swear secrecy here, Buck," you added, folding your arms and glowering at him.
"Oh, hell no! I'm telling everyone about this, it's too good not to!" he refused, smirking. "Between you having lied to everyone that you aren't ticklish, and him just being Loki and ALSO being ticklish, there's no way I can keep this to myself."
You turned to look at Loki, a panicked look in your eyes. He met your gaze, a smirk slowly spreading across his face as a thought crossed his mind. You realized exactly what he was thinking, the pair of you turning on a disgruntled-looking Bucky.
"Alright, Buck - I think it's time to find out if super soldiers are ticklish too."

Once upon a time in the futuristic land of Royalea, a secret spy academy was made for royals to train and become professional spies. After years of suffering from invaders and having their kin kidnapped and slain by the same invader rebels, the royals wanted to put a stop to it all, they wanted to protect their children, their future heirs.
They had learned from their past mistakes and devised a plan to become stronger. They strictly trained their children at a young age to help in preparing them to face all kinds of enemies. So that when the time comes, they will be able to protect themselves. They won't be the ones cowering in fear, feeling helpless and begging for mercy at the hands of their enemies.
They will be the ones invading other lands and eradicating anyone who threatens to come in their way. That is how they innovated their land. With their newfound courage and mindset. Within just a few years of establishing the academy, they had the latest gadgets and technology the neighboring countries would envy. Their princes and princesses trained brilliant in combat. To them, it didn't make their heirs any less poised and graceful just because they knew how to fight. Those times are done, and they knew what was most important having witnessed the chaotic events that happened before.
Although most of them thought that- not everyone did. A few royals still wanted to live the traditional way, they preferred to raise their royal children by the book and with grace, as they say. They reasoned that their heirs' responsibilities were to lead a land, not play as guards. They were curious about the superb technology their land had now, but they limited their use of it. Your parents were one of those traditional royals.
The queen was about to enjoy the morning's prepared feast, when she caught you in the corner of her eye wearing a cloak heading for the door. You were probably planning to sneak out before breakfast again. "Y/N, come back here dear. You were trying to sneak out again right? Where have you been running off to these days? I hope it's not where I think it is, because I've told you not to go there-" The queen had ranted but you cut her off. "It's not where you think it is okay? But even if it was, why won't you let me go anyway? How will I be safe If I don't know how to defend myself?"
"You know why we forbid you to go to that place. You're safer here. You don't need to become a brute to be safe. That's why there are guards to protect you, you have your own knight Hoseok to protect you-" The queen rambled and explained only to be interrupted by you again. "Well I don't want to just rely on the guards and my knight, your majesty. I wanna be able to protect myself whenever and wherever. You say I'm safer here, but you can't always assure that. I don't know why you won't just let me be a-" It was the queen's turn to interrupt you, "And I don't know why you keep on insisting to disrespect and disobey me. Don't finish that sentence or you'll regret it princess. Actually, If you won't listen to me then maybe you'd be better off inside your room the whole day. Guards, please escort Princess Y/N to her room and make sure she doesn't leave the palace."
"This is so unfair! Why are you doing this to me?" You exclaimed. "You know why, my child. It's because I only want to keep you safe. I'm doing this for you so don't dare to disobey me again, or you might have to stay in your tower for a year again." The queen warned. You didn't bother to retort anymore, it was futile.
You were bored, your breakfast was sent to your room but you didn't have the appetite to eat. You were supposed to be assigned to a new mission today, it just sucks that your mother had seen you on the way out. All of it sucked. This castle you're in, your mother, (though you loved her deeply, she can sometimes be so difficult and strict.) everyone on this planet, Prince Jeon, wait… Jeon Jungkook. That's it! Maybe if his panties aren't in a twist today- maybe he can help you get out. It won't hurt to try though, so that's what you decided to do. You took your phone and messaged him.
To Agent 🐰: 9:18 am
Hey bunny I need your help.
To Agent 🦊 princess: 9:19 am
And why should I help you? 🤔
To Agent 🐰: 9:20 am
Because I'm stuck here and I can't fight you if I can't get out. So come here and get me 😜
To Agent 🦊 princess: 9:21 am
Touché. But what's the magic word princess? 😉 you need to say it.
To Agent 🐰: 9:22 am
Ughh. Fr? Fine. Pls help me my furry prince and hurryyyy.
To Agent 🦊 princess: 9:23 am
I'm otw my princess. And for the Nth time I told you I'm not a furry!
Jungkook arrived to the palace after a while, the queen was always delighted to see his presence. "Prince Jungkook, It's a pleasure to see you. If you don't mind me asking, what brings you here today?" the queen inquired. "It's a pleasure to see you too your majesty. I actually came here to see Princess Y/N, is she busy?" Jungkook said albeit knowing you were stuck in your room.
"Oh not really. Let me ask the maids to get her for you."
"Um, if you don't mind your majesty, I can just go into her room myself. If that's okay?" Jungkook asked. "Of course that's okay dear. You know where her room is right?" Jungkook nodded.
Jungkook was taking a little too long, you thought. If only you had another choice, you wouldn't conspire with that annoying prince. After a few seconds, you heard someone knocking on your door. Could it be him? "Jungkook is that you?" you inquired. "No, I'm not Jungkook miss. I'm just your friendly neighborhood spiderman." you opened the door and there stood the handsome ebony haired prince. "Spiderman your ass, what took you so long? I've been waiting here for ages!" You whined. "Sorry princess, I did try to hurry a little for you. Anyway, what's the plan?" The prince said as he sat and made himself comfortable in your bed.
"Hmm. I was thinking maybe you could convince my mother to let me go out with you today," You looked at him directly, trying to convey what your plan is with your eyes. "Even though I'm supposed to be grounded. Maybe you could tell her that we're gonna practice archery, or we're gonna conquer other lands, whatever just do your thing. As gross as it is and I don't know why but, she's quite fond of you so- help me get out of here." Jungkook stares at you and notices how your long brown wavy hair falls over your face. He always thought your hairstyle matched perfectly to your face. You were actually kind of perfect to him. But he'll never tell you that of course, even if you or someone threatened to kill him.
"And what do I get by helping you princess?" He smirked. He loved teasing you and making you irritated, he thought it was kind of cute how your face would turn red from anger after he irritated the shit out of you and when you get flustered. Everytime he teased you he couldn't help but think you were sort of cute. "You can get the satisfaction of me letting you get more points on the top spies leaderboard." You replied smartly.
"As if you'd let me do that without chewing my ear off. Please give me something that's actually factual."
"Fine. Hmm, how about me promising not to insult you for a week even if you annoy the hell out of me?" You suggested smiling a little manipulatively at him. "Eh, that's lame. How about you do me a dare and maybe I'll agree to your planposal." He retorted and smirked arrogantly. You hated when he smiled like that, he's always so cocky and just because he looked handsome as hell- not that you'll admit it out loud ever, doesn't mean you'll fall for his insufferable cute ass. Wait did you just say handsome and cute? Ew. You meant evil. Yes that's what you meant… Anyway.
"Please don't say planposal ever again," You rolled your eyes at him. "Regardless, it depends on what the dare is. If you want me to run around naked and flash the whole kingdom then that's not gonna happen baby." You told him strictly.
"Don't worry princess, as satisfying that concept is for me, I don't wanna be the cause of blindness and curse the whole land." What the heck did he mean? Did he just insult me? "Whatever, Jeon. Just tell me what you want." You demanded.
"I want you." What? Did his last tiny brain cell die and now he's talking nonsense?
"What?" you replied flustered by his weird statement.
"I want you to do this mission for me. That's my dare. Why are you flustered though? Did you think about something else?" He taunted and smirked again, It's like he never stops being cocky when he's around you.
"Of course not. I'm not delusional like you. And what mission is it that you can't seem to do it yourself? Is Prince Jeon a little scared?"
"I'm not scared. It's just no fun to do it myself when I can have my princess to do it for me. That's my condition though if you want me to help you get out of here. I'll help you escape, and you'll help me when you're out. Is it a deal?"
"Hmm, tell me what mission is it and maybe I'll agree." You proposed. "You'll know when you do it, so I'm not telling you right now. Also, I want you to do another little thing for me." He grinned evilly. You have a feeling you're gonna hate him even more for what he's about to make you do. Nevertheless you agreed, if that meant he'd help you get away from your mother today. [INSERT PIC]
You were finally able to get out of the palace thanks to Jeon Jungkook's annoying face. You don't know how he charmed your mother, but at least she bought the act that the two of you were practicing your archery skills. You got what you wanted, but at the cost of your ego. You couldn't believe you actually praised Jeon Jungkook in public and embarrassed yourself on social media. Anyhow, the two of you were now on the way to the academy riding your respective monocycles. (the ones the guys in Men in Black used to ride, if you've seen the movie.)
It didn't take long for you to arrive, and before the other royal spies could see that you two came together, you already told Jungkook to maintain some distance beforehand, and act as if you didn't just hangout awhile ago.
You parked your monocycle and just as you were about to go inside the academy, you noticed how Jeon Jungkook gathered the attention of some girls and even boys too. Maybe it was the way his hair still looked perfect and fluffy in the wind, or the way he walked so gracefully just how a prince should. Either way, you couldn't deny how popular he was. He was every prince/princess' dream guy. No one could resist him, and maybe you couldn't too, maybe that's why you loathe him a lot.
In Prince Jungkook's defense, it wasn't his fault he was born so damn beautiful. He didn't pretend that he didn't notice the stares and the attention people gave him. But he also wasn't so cocky about it. He was still quite humble if he might say, and he was a shy guy too. He didn't actually care about everyone's attention, well maybe except one. It was still confusing to him how you always thought he was cocky because he was popular, as if you weren't cocky and popular too? He wondered if you noticed the other princes gawking at you when you walk by, or the insecure princesses rolling their eyes because they can't be you. You weren't even just a princess, you were one of the best spies in the academy too.
You were practicing your knife throwing skills when you noticed a presence beside you.
"Go on continue, don't mind my gorgeous presence here." He said.
"What are you doing here Jeon? And what do you want? I'm busy," you retorted. "I just wanted to remind you about our deal princess. The mission I want you to do, it's at 1800. Just wanted you to be ready."
"I'm always ready Jeon."
"I know but you might need a good luck from me personally for this one, that's why I came to see you before you go. Good luck my princess, be safe." He said and left you wondering if the mission was truly as dangerous as he hinted.
It turned out that the mission was quite harder than you expected. You had to overthrow a mad king, but not just any mad king- he was a retired superspy too. It didn't help that his army were giant killer robots, and although you've trained at a young age, it was still a little difficult to defeat them alone. You understand now why Jungkook made you do this mission, it was a trap.
That insufferable prince- he'll see when you get out of this hell hole, if you get out of here alive he'll really get his ass kicked. "Ballsacks!" you cursed as you barely dodged the laser beam the giant robot just shot at you. You were debating now if you should call reinforcements but you didn't wanna lower your pride for him even more. You didn’t wanna give him the satisfaction of knowing you're failing this mission.
Just as you thought you were gonna get crushed by one of the ginormous robots- to your surprise, the nasty thing got blown into bits.
"I knew these bubblegum bombs would come in handy someday," the voice spoke. "It's really unprofessional of you to leave your gadgets behind princess. You should be thankful I decided to bring them here to you." Of course it was the insufferable agent rabbit.
"What are you doing here Jeon?" you inquired rudely.
"What does it look like I'm doing Y/N? I'm saving your ass from getting killed." he retorted, and you were taken aback when he called you by your first name. It was a rule that agents should call each other by their codenames, you wondered if he forgot about that. "How dare you call me by my name! You know that isn't allowed. Call me by my codename you idiot, and I don't need you to save me, I can save myself thank you very much." You retorted.
"You called me by my name first! Whatever, and sure you can, you were obviously not about to get crushed just five minutes ago. I didn't even get a sincere thanks from you 'cause in case you forgot, just like how you forgot your gadgets, I saved you princess." he said snarkily. "Well, I didn't ask you to, but fine thanks a lot! I'm so grateful you saved me. Happy now?" So what if he saved your ass this time, it's not like he saved the world? And you were only in this predicament because of him anyway. This was his mission and he made you do it, maybe it was your fault for underestimating the mission hence, you only brought a few gadgets- but that's not even such a big deal. So why is he blaming you and making such a fuss about this? You really despised his ass.
"That still sounds so insincere princess, but sure I'll accept that, we have bigger robots to fry right now anyway-"
"Don't stop attacking them annihilate them fast!" The mad king exclaimed as he instructed his gigantic robots to attack the two of you even harder. You heard his minions reply and called him Agust, maybe that was his name. Jungkook and you were hiding at this point, their attacks were getting stronger and you really needed to finish this mission fast but that's still a problem for now. Luckily Jungkook thought of a plan, and he decided you should use the remaining bubblegum bombs to destroy all the massive robots, but you had to chew the gums first before blowing it on them.
You blew the last one on the king and successfully eradicated his existence for good. It was satisfying to defeat him albeit it wasn't that easy.
"Ugh, finally we can go home now." Jungkook whined. "Yeah, mayhaps I can't believe we could work as a team." You added. "A team? I did all the work though? Without me you'd probably be-" you cut him off, "Yeah sure, whatever but I still helped blow the gum bombs! Anyway, we better leave now my mother's probably worried."
"I would be too, if I had a daughter like you." he remarked. "What's that supposed to mean Jeon?" You glared at him. "Oh nothing, nothing my princess." there he goes again smirking like a cocky idiot. Gross. He didn't even stop grinning when you rode your monocycles all the way home.
~♡~
"Prince Jeon, Princess Y/N, It's late. What took you so long?" The King inquired. You were surprised to say the least that it wasn't your mother, the queen who was waiting for you when you arrived. "Sorry if I took her out so long your majesty, we decided to visit my kingdom after practicing archery and got distracted. We didn't realize the sun had already set when we were done, my apologies." Jungkook smoothly reasoned.
"It's fine, next time just don't stay out too late. Though Y/N dear, what happened to your dress? It's as dirty as a peasant! Is that how a princess should behave and carry herself? You're lucky your mother isn't here and on an emergency meeting right now, or you'll be grounded for life!" Your father added. "Dad I-" you were about to defend yourself and explain when Jungkook cut you off.
"It's actually my fault, your majesty. Please don't blame Princess Y/N. We were playing at the castle, and mayhaps we had too much fun. I apologize again, your majesty." Jungkook looked at you in a conspiring way, as if to tell you to ride along with his story. "Very well. You should stop apologizing son, accidents can happen." Wow. Your father didn't get mad at the obnoxious rabbit prince, but he got mad at you, how fracking fair. It's totally fine. You truly felt great. "Although you both should always be mindful of how you look and your actions, you are royalty after all." The king added.
"Of course dad, even though I didn't ask to be born like this…" You quipped, voice lowering a little as you finished saying it. "What did you say Y/N?" "Nothing dad, can I go eat dinner now? I'm hungry as heck. Bye Jeon, have a safe trip on the way home." You told Jungkook and were already heading to the dining area when your father decided to say something that stopped you from going there completely, "Mind your language dear, also it's truly quite late, aren't you starving Prince Jungkook?" The king inquired, staring at Jungkook to check his reaction. "Um, It's late your majesty I should be heading home, and I don't know if Princess Y/N wants me to eat with her…" You glared at him and mouthed 'What the fck Jeon? You frackin pig!' well obnoxiously he looked like a rabbit with his big bunny teeth, but the way he was acting now- he was like a starving pig. The king ignored what Jungkook said and told him, "Nonsense boy! I'm sure Princess Y/N will be delighted to have you join us for dinner. I already ate actually, but I'd love to join you both for dinner again I could get some snack- you can't always have enough snacks!" The king exclaimed enthusiastically.
"But dad-" you try to dissuade him to no avail, "No buts my lovely daughter, Prince Jungkook will be joining us for dinner. You should probably change your clothes before you eat dinner, Jungkook and I will head to the dining room first. Come along now Jungkook," The king beckoned as Jungkook followed him to the dining room. You were planning to have a peaceful dinner tonight, but of course Jeon Jungkook would ruin that as fracking always. When will he ever stop annoying you?
You went to your room begrudgingly, and changed into some casual clothes that were still appropriate for dinner but also for having an annoying guest eating with you. After a short while, you finally joined them to eat. You sat beside Jungkook and your father was at the center of the table. It wouldn't have been awkward if your father didn't start to ask obnoxious questions.
"So Prince Jeon, what have you been up to these days? Searching for potential wife candidates?" The king inquired. You glared at your father. Jungkook almost choked on a piece of steak he was eating, but he managed to answer after drinking some water. "Uh, I've been busy with my duties your majesty. Ensuring the safety of my people and thinking of ways to stop the remaining rebels. I haven't really had the time to look for potential wife candidates."
"Oh. It's good to hear that you prioritize the safety of your people Prince Jeon. But you're not getting any younger. Soon enough, you'll need a good wife to be your future queen and help you lead the kingdom. Do you have anyone in mind right now?" The king probed. "Dad- stop being so nosy." You said, annoyed and a little embarrassed. "I'm not, I'm just asking the boy if he has an idea or a person in mind to be his future queen. So do you, Prince Jeon?"
"Um- as I've said your majesty, I'm too busy to think about marriage right now. I'm still young though, so I'm not that in a hurry to get married." Jungkook replied a little uncomfortable but still respectful. "That's comprehensible. I think Y/N here," Your father said while looking at you, "is the same too."
"Although, I have someone in mind for her already." The king announced, making Jungkook feel something weird inside him. Jungkook wondered what the king meant- or who he meant? For some crazy reason, he can't imagine you marrying someone. Or someone else… Of course not that he wants to marry you! But- maybe it wouldn't be so bad at all too. "Okay, this conversation is over dad," You told the king. "We're done eating and Jungkook has to go home, so goodbye everyone I'm going to my room now." You stood up and went to your room in a hurry.
"But Y/N I'm not done talking you brat! I still haven't finished this delicious croissant-" The king quipped disappointedly. "She's quite a disrespectful brat sometimes, I wonder who she got it from- forgive my daughter Jeon."
"It's okay your majesty, I was about to leave too. I'll be going now if you don't mind-"
"Wait-" Jungkook stood up and sat again because of what the king said. "I hope you're not mad at her, she really is a little hard to handle." The king looked at him pitifully, "Oh, I'm not your majesty. Though I won't disagree with you on that statement- about her being hard to handle I mean…" he joked.
"Yes, she is quite stubborn. But I'm sure you can handle her quite well." Jungkook was confused again, what did your father mean? "I'm sorry your majesty, I don't really get what you're trying to say?" The king looked him in the eye gleefully and said, "I'm saying, I like you- for her. I think the both of you would make a perfect match." Jungkook blushed, oh. So that's what he meant.
"Don't you agree Prince Jeon?" The king teased him further. "I-... Yes I suppose so, your majesty." He shyly replied. It would be rude to disagree, or say awful stuff. "That is- if you're not secretly a couple yet, are you not?"
"No!" Jungkook replied a little too loud. "I meant- no we aren't yet your majesty. We're not secretly seeing each other…" he backtracked, calmer now. "Oh, you aren't yet. That's alright, the two of you are still young- there's still a lot of time. We're just excited for your wedding and to see our grandchildren! But all in God's perfect timing- anyway sorry for keeping you here, have a safe trip home Prince Jeon! Hopefully you'll be calling me dad soon." The king whispered the last bit as Jungkook was finally on his way out of the palace, but he still heard it to his dismay, and it didn't help in making the forming blush on his cheeks go away. The thought of getting married with you isn't so appalling to him- but having kids right away… it was weird to think about. The whole conversation was weird to think about and yet it was the most constant thing on his mind the whole night.
~💜~
You were lucky the queen was still on an important meeting as you made your way out of the palace, or so you thought- when your father, the king shouted your name in your lawn. Of course he made you go back to your room, and unless you had important things to do outside you won't be able to go out. And because of that, you resorted to call the bunny prince for help again. So now, you're waiting for him to be your knight in shining armor and take you away from the palace again. After an hour of agony, he finally arrived and managed to convince your father with a shitty excuse to let you go with him. If you weren't seeing things, you might've thought they were whispering some secret information to each other. Your parents always looked like they were so elated to see that prince in the palace. Your dad was being weird now too. Men are such eerie creatures, you thought.
"Hey Jeon. What were you whispering about to my dad a while ago?" You called to him as you rode your speedy monocycles. "What?" Mayhaps he didn't hear you, as the wind gushed too loud. "I said- nevermind." You didn't bother to ask him what they talked about anymore, maybe it didn't matter anyway. You were nearing the academy, and you parked your monocycle right away when you arrived. Not bothering to look at him and see his fangirls flocking over him again.
You were practicing with throwing your dart knives when you overheard a girl and a familiar someone talking. "Baby! You're always so hot and perfect! you're on the top spies leaderboard again, marry me please!" Her rat-like voice annoyed you, so you decided to stare at her in hopes that she'll feel a little embarrassed at least. But to no avail, she only continued her mouth breathing sentiments."I don't mean to be rude Princess Fiona, but I'm not ready to get married right now." or ever with you, Jungkook wanted to add- but he only did in his mind.
And of course, the cause of this headache inducing fiasco is no other than Prince Jungkook, why are you even surprised? Why can't they be annoying somewhere else? Probably a million miles away from you? "Oh, I don't mean right away silly. Maybe in a few weeks or months? I just know we're meant to be my prince." Gawd, you're actually praying for her future husband. Hopefully he can stand her annoying rat-ogre voice. "I'm sorry Fiona, I really think I'm not the right guy for you. Although I heard Lord Farquaad seemed to have feelings for you." Jungkook suggested. "What? Lord Farquaad? Ew, he's a midget gross. Is that why you won't marry me? Are you jealous baby? You don't have to be!" she squealed and giggled, you had to stop yourself for aiming at her face, it wasn't the knife's fault and you were against animal cruelty anyway.
"No," Jungkook sighed, she wasn't getting it. "I'm not jealous. I just think you're better off with Lord Farquaad, and I'm better with…"
"Better with who? Oh please tell me Prince Jeon who's better with you rather than I?" She seemed to look around at other girls, hoping to find the answer to her question when Jungkook still couldn't reply. She only stopped when she noticed you looking at her too, so you looked away from her and turned your attention on a laser gun that was displayed instead. You were planning to tune them out fully, when she spoke something that triggered something in you. Something you didn't quite like.
"When you said you were better off with someone else, did you mean to say you were better off with someone like Princess Y/N? Are you serious Prince Jeon? She's not even that pretty, or that great of a spy." Hearing her utter those ill-founded words made your blood boil, how dare she point out your flaws and insecurity? You were already one of the best spies, yet you still trained to be a better spy everyday, even if you being a spy was against your parents' wishes- maybe that's why you couldn't control your next actions- you threw one of the dart knives at her direction.
Lucky for her, it missed her face by a centimeter. Actually, if you wanted to hit her you could've, but you just wanted to shut her up. And shut her up you did. She was too shocked to speak at first, too in awe at what happened. Until she regained her senses and confronted the perpetrator. "You! Y/N how dare you try to impale my face with that dirty knife! My father will hear about this!" she pointed at you looking mad and ogre-like at the same time.
"Oh stop being too dramatic Fiona, maybe it was an accident, I'm sure Y/N didn't mean to throw it at you." Jungkook said glancing your way, though it looked more like he was trying to save your ass rather than comfort the ogre like princess. "But I did though Jungkook. I meant to aim it at her to shut her up," You replied looking Fiona directly in the eyes. "See Jungkook? She didn't even deny it!" she exclaimed.
"Which I only did because of what you spoke about me. You had the audacity to insult and slander me, yet you got scared of almost getting what you deserved. Please Princess Fiona save it for someone who cares, it's not me or Jungkook but mayhaps another ogre does." You kept your knives and walked away from them. "Come back here you bitch! You still have to pay for almost murdering me!" she screamed wanting to follow you, but Jungkook held her back from doing so.
"Fiona stop harassing Y/N. You won't follow her nor will you continue to insult her, if you as much touch her hair or be near her- you'll be hearing from me. And I also won't hesitate to tell your father about what you're doing." Jungkook reprimanded her and left the fuming princess to follow after you.
Jungkook found you at another training station trying some new gadget that was actually quite useful to distract and even escape rebels, if you were in a hurry. You didn’t seem to notice him yet or you pretended not to, so he made his presence known by speaking first.
"That seems really handy, you could totally make use of that a lot when needing an escape for extremely hard missions." You were still ignoring him so he spoke again. "Not saying you always escape hard missions-" You interrupted him. "Then what are you saying Jeon? Just because I needed a little help from you on that difficult mission, doesn't mean I'll always need someone or something to save me. For the record, I don't always rely on gadgets to defeat enemies, I've successfully completed a lot of missions without them."
"I know that Y/N, I'm just trying to give you some advice." he retorted. "More like you're trying to prove to me that you're always right."
"But aren't I babe? I'm indeed always right,"
"Don't call me that, hearing you call me it just gave me a disease." You chided. "Oh really? I bet you secretly like it though, just like you like me." He boasted. "Wait what? Where did that come from? Are you on crack or did your last brain cell finally decided to leave you?" How dare he assume and say such horrendous things? He's probably hallucinating or something.
"Excuse me I don't do crack, but you don't have to deny it. I get it you're shy, and you were jealous of Fiona that's why you acted up a while ago-" he's truly insufferable. "Me Jealous? Please don't delude yourself, wake up from that dream it isn't healthy." You wanted to leave his delusional ass once more, but he prevented you from doing that when he cornered you to a wall and got too close for comfort. "I can prove it you know, that you're jealous," He was breathing hotly on your face, staring deeply into your eyes and slowly, he seemed to inch his face closer to yours- as if planning to steal a taste of your lips, you were so flustered that you decided to close your eyes. Waiting and kind of hoping to feel his soft lips on yours, but it never came.
Because just before Jungkook could kiss you, you heard someone cough, and the both of you decided to break apart from each other. "Ehem. Agent Y/N and Agent JK, I'm going to assign mission partners, you should both probably be at the assembly hall so you don't miss it." Your instructor said looking at the two of you weirdly. You both awkwardly looked at him back and nodded.
💜
"Agent Fiona and Agent Farquaad, you'll be partners for this mission and probably the succeeding ones too." Your instructor announced, Fiona grimaced seemingly disappointed with who her partner was but not bothering to say anything. Meanwhile, Farquaad had a smile on his face as he was partnered with the gal he liked. When your turn came, you couldn't believe the luck you just had to be partnered with the guy you wanted to avoid the most.
"Agent Y/N and Agent JK, you’ll be partners for this mission and the succeeding ones, as you both are the best spies in this academy." Your instructor said with gleam in his eyes. Did he plan this? Did he think you and Jungkook got along well because of what he almost saw a while ago? What the hell? What is he doing? You were having an internal monologue, as you were still having a hard time processing the fact that you'll have to spend more time with annoying Prince Jungkook again. You couldn't believe it, you wouldn't. Your mental breakdown was interrupted by someone's disgustingly familiar voice speaking to you,
"So, partners huh? I'd say I'm glad to be partnered by a top spy in our academy, but I'm not really sure I am. Maybe 'cause I loathe it as much as you do?" You glared at him. "As if I'll be partners with you," you retorted and stormed off to find your instructor to plead with him.
"Um. Excuse me sir, can I please switch partners?" you pleaded to your instructor when you found him. "Agent Y/N… I'm sorry, but I chose your partners for a reason. Also, Agent JK is one of the best spy princes. I don't understand why you don't wanna be partners with him?" He replied.
"I know sir, but- we just don't get along that well, and actually, I think I can handle a mission on my own just fine." you explained. "I'm one of the best spies as you've said, and we all know that's true so… Please?"
"I'm really sorry Agent Y/N, but my decision is final. Your partner is Agent JK, and if you have problems with each other right now, then hopefully this mission will help you guys resolve it, and make you feel closer." Your instructor paused for a bit, you didn't know why but he was seemingly and suddenly in deep thought. "If you don't mind me asking and I don't mean to be nosy, but are you guys having a lovers quarrel or something?" he inquired.
"W-what? Of course not sir! Me and him lovers? Not in this lifetime. Why did you even think of that if I may ask?" you were flustered but curious. Did your instructor think of that because of what he saw a while ago? You didn't even know what truly transpired between you and Jungkook in that moment, you just knew that it felt right and wrong at the same time. "I think you realize that I saw you both a while ago, you two were pretty close to each other. I just thought you might be dating. It's a little disappointing that you aren't but that's okay." you fought another blush that threatened to show in your cheeks because of what your instructor said.
"But sir- why would it be disappointing?" you asked dumbly. "It's a little disappointing because you two look great together. You're both compatible in my opinion," he said looking at you seriously. "You're both top spies, both popular within the academy and even outside of it, you're both competitive, but you complement each other. Should I tell you more?" you didn't know if he was asking rhetorically or if he really wanted you to answer that question, so you just looked at the walls of the academy instead. But you also thought about what he said, did you and Jungkook really complement each other?
"If you don't have anymore questions Agent YN, I'll be going now. I still have some tasks to do, but remember that I'm rooting for both of you." he smiled at you knowingly, and your instructor went back to his room. Whether he meant that in regards to you both being spies, or the concept of you and Jungkook dating, mayhaps it was both- you didn’t know. But you were more scared than curious to ponder about it and find out.
You still went home together with Jungkook despite of the awkward air around the two of you, even if you didn't wanna be partners with him mayhaps you didn't have any choice, so why bother complaining about it anymore. You both chose to stay silent during the ride on the way home, not really talking until you arrived at the palace.
👑
"You got home late again. What have you both been doing that's taking up your whole time and day?" The king inquired immediately when you both arrived. "Dad- we were just…" You replied until Jungkook cut you off again, he seemed to be doing that frequently these days.
"We were just hanging out as usual your majesty. Actually- we're hanging out too much because…" Jungkook hesitantly took a peek in your direction, "Because- we're dating." what in the name of crippled hairy ballsacks is he on now? Mayhaps he's really lost it and now cursing you.
"What the hell are you talking about Jeon?" you yelled and glared at him. He looked like he was trying to talk to you telepathically with his eyes, because he obviously can't do it with his mind. "Y/N- can you just play along-" he whispered to you. Your father wasn't all too happy with the way you screamed and cursed though, so he reprimanded you again. "Princess Y/N! Your language!" he also yelled brows furrowed in disappointment. "Have you forgotten your manners? A princess doesn't act like a tasteless fool!" he chided, you ignored him and pretended that you didn’t hear him. You just wanted to go to your room and disappear forever.
"And you Prince Jeon, is what you're saying the truth?" The king said as he looked at Jungkook pointedly. "Are you and Y/N truly dating? Why haven't you told us this? When did you both even start seeing each other?"
"Your majesty I can explain. Please don't be furious at us- or at least at Y/N that much-" Jungkook reasoned. "We wanted to keep it a secret for a while, as we were afraid of your reaction."
"Well aren't you afraid now? You just confessed your relationship in front of me." The king said. "We still are. Though I thought maybe you needed to know now, because secrets aren't meant to be kept forever." Jungkook explained.
"And is that truly the reason why you keep visiting Princess Y/N here and having all your rendezvous?" The king inquired again. "Well obviously dad, didn't you hear what he said?" You retorted smartly. You decided you were going to go with whatever this ballsack show Jungkook wants to play, if that meant your real secret won't be found out. (that is if they don't know of it already and are just letting you go for now.) Anyway, If this fake relationship is your escape pass then so be it. You were still planning to confront Jungkook about this shit show later though.
"Stop being sassy you brat, I wasn't talking to you, I was clearly asking our prince here." your dad scolded you. "Did you even court her properly Prince Jeon? I hope you did everything you can to truly deserve her heart."
"I- I did…Your majesty. I can tell you all about how I wooed her during dinner. That is if you'll allow me to stay for dinner?" Jungkook somewhat smoothly replied. You gave him a grim warning look- because he was really pushing it. Though mayhaps, you supposed him staying for dinner wouldn't be so insufferable- since you could talk to him after, and discuss what's going on in his heinous mind.
"Alright, Prince Jeon. You can stay for dinner, and maybe you can convince me if you're truly fitting for my dear Princess Y/N." The king replied.
👸🤴👑
Your father and Jungkook chatted amicably, though the king interrogated Jungkook a lot about your relationship. The king asked about how you both realized you were in love with each other, which was awkward because you weren't really in love. You let Jungkook do all the talking since he's a better liar in your opinion. Your father even had the audacity to ask when was your first kiss together? To which Jungkook almost choked on his water, while his cheeks burned red. It didn't seem like he'd stop interrogating Jungkook soon, so before he could ask Jungkook more personal questions like, if you'd slept together already- (It was common for the new generation of royals in your land to sleep around even before being wed.) You decided to interrupt and end their conversation.
You excused yourself from the table, telling your father you were full, and took Jungkook with you. The king surprisingly allowed you to go without a lot of fuss, but he did shoot you both suggestive looks. When you got to your room, Jungkook seemed to be relieved that you stopped the king from torturing him even further. Maybe using the word 'torturing' was a bit harsh- but that was kinda what Jungkook felt when your father asked him all those personal questions. Not that he was truly in pain, but more like he felt weird thinking about all the little white lies he told the king. He wondered if in the future it might come true? Would he still feel awkward or would he enjoy it? He was interrupted from his pondering when he heard your adorable voice, he realized you were talking to him.
"Hello?? Earth to rabbit prince? I was asking you a question but you seemed to be on planet mars or something," You commented while sitting on your bed. "Oh, sorry. I was just thinking about some stuff and things…" He was thinking about the possibilities of you and him- was what he wanted to say, but he'll probably never say it even if he was blackmailed by an enemy. "Stuff and things huh? Are you the main lead of Walking Dead now? Anyway- I was just asking you why you suddenly decided that we should fake date?"
"I-" Jungkook sighed while sitting on the chair near your bed, "I thought you had the idea why already," he simply replied. "Well, maybe I do have an idea." you told him. "But is my idea correct? Did you do it so I could go on missions without having a hard time sneaking out on my parents?"
"I guess. Mayhaps, I wanted to help you in a way." he shyly admitted, avoiding looking at your direction. "For real though? Why? What's in it for you?" you inquired, curious as to why he did such things to help you. "I don't know, maybe just because," was his curt reply. "Just because? What kind of answer is that? It doesn't make sense. I still want to know Jungkook," you probed.
"Maybe it's just because I can okay?" you looked at him still unconvinced. "Fine- maybe because I feel a little bad for you. You have boomer parents who still think you should stick to being a prim and proper princess, when we both know how much you want to be an amazing superspy too. And you already are," He told you, looking at you proudly. "But, I know how much you want to protect yourself and the people you love. I know that you love being a spy and going on missions. So maybe, that's why I made the whole fake dating show." He proclaimed.
"Okay...that seems comprehensible. You didn't have to do it, but you still did anyway. So I wanna thank you for that." you told Jungkook honestly. "Actually I was mad at first, I was confused about what your plan was. I didn't realize you were doing it for me. But when I did, I guessed it didn't seem so bad after all." you confessed looking at him shyly. "It's okay, I didn't tell you about it beforehand too. So I can understand why you were mad." he replied.
"Uh… yeah. Though, I'm still sorry for being rude. I guess we'll have to get along because we're partners now anyway." you suggested. "Okay, I guess we should try to be friends since we're partners now." Jungkook replied. Maybe being friends with Jungkook wouldn't be so bad.
👑
Your first official mission with Jungkook was at a nearby kingdom. It was reigned by the Kim family, and now ruled by their obnoxious tyrant son, Kim Seokjin. His beloved parents have been deceased for a few years now, that is why he's became king, and is doing whatever he wants with the land. Your mission is to teach him a lesson; and that is to learn how to share his wealth to his people. He doesn't care about anyone but himself. He's using up all the land's wealth for his selfish needs, and leaving his people to die of hunger and starvation.
Meeting King Seokjin was quite amusing. He didn't even spare you a glance as he sat on his throne, and looked at his face in his handheld mirror. He seemed to focus on his face only, quite a narcissistic trait. He also didn't seem to take you both seriously when you told him that he should change his ways- before it's too late. That is why you had no choice but to make him listen to you even if you had to exert a little force.
You had shot the wall near where he was sitting with your laser gun, (you also finally decided to bring a few gadgets just in case.) therefore catching his attention, finally. "What the hell? Are you deranged? Why did you do that you imbecile! You could've hit my beautiful face! I could have you killed for trying to scratch my gorgeous face you know!" King Seokjin exclaimed. "Well we had to get your attention you narcissistic king. You won't listen to us." Jungkook answered him for you.
"Stop acting like a spoiled child, and help your people. They need you." You retorted. "Who are you peasants to even tell me what to do?!! Actually, how did you both even get inside here? Guards!" the tyrant king screamed. "We're just people who were sent to teach you a lesson. Your guards are asleep if you must know. We kind of knocked them out, sorry about that your majesty." Jungkook quipped.
"Who are you heathens? I don't have time for your tomfoolery, so if it's money you want then just tell me how much and maybe I'll give you some." King Seokjin proclaimed. "We don't want any of your dirty money. What we want is that you learn how to share them with your people." You chided. "Share my money with commoners? What kind of ridiculous thing are you talking about? I'll never share my wealth with useless peasants! Never!"
"The useless peasants you called are the ones feeding you, and are the source of the food you eat. You don't even pay them for their rice and crops, you only know how to take but never give back." "I don't care what you say! I'm not sharing my money with slaves or anyone else even til I die!" he screamed. It seemed like he truly wasn't gonna cooperate or change his ways, so you had to resort to doing things by force yet again.
"Fine, you're really not gonna change? Then we'll just have to make you then." You announced to him. "Oh. please make me!" King Seokjin mocked. "Oh we really are, until you learn your lesson you selfish king." Jungkook retorted. And before he could reply or notice, you were both tying him up on his chair that he loves sitting on. And when he realized what you had done, it was too late and he couldn't move anymore. "What are you doing? Let me go! You'll pay for this you crazies!"
"I think we won't be paying for anything unlike you, your majesty. Now if you don't want us to carry you and leave you outside for the townspeople to beat up- you'll give us the money to pay your people." Jungkook demanded. "How dare you threaten me?! I'm not scared of you buffoons! And I'm not giving you any of my money! If you don't untie me this instant, you'll truly regret it! I promise you both!" He exclaimed. "I see you still won't cooperate with us, Okay. Let's go agent Fox."
Jungkook motioned for you to untie King Seokjin on the chair, only to tie him up again as Jungkook carried him down his throne. You were about to go out and leave him on the streets for the townspeople to beat up, when he suddenly screamed and begged you both not to. "Wait! Are you really gonna leave me out there to get beaten up?! Please don't! They'll ruin my beautiful face! Ok- Okay! I'll tell you where my money is and share them to my people! Just put me down please!"
"Are you seriously gonna help your people now? Do you promise?" Jungkook inquired. "Yes! Yes I promise! Now please put me down." King Seokjin replied. Jungkook put him back on his throne and you both waited for him to do what he promised. After getting some money from his secret vault, he then fulfilled his promise of paying the people he's been indebted with for so long. You both went with him to visit the townspeople he neglected and left to starve. Surprisingly, he paid them without so much fuss and no complaints from him. Even the townspeople were shocked at his sudden actions.
After giving the people the money they deserved, You were both surprised to be invited by the King for dinner. He explained that he wanted to thank you for making him realize his selfish ways, and he wanted to show you how grateful he was by letting you enjoy a good meal. Not wanting to be rude and mayhaps you were both kinda hungry too, you accepted his offer of dinner.
The dinner with the king went well. Mayhaps too well that is. You were just finishing your dessert when you felt a little light headed. You didn’t wanna think about it too much and ignored it, but then you felt dizzy. You decided to ask Jungkook if he felt the same weird feeling you felt but when you looked at him sitting beside you he was already knocked out on the table. Something seems amiss. "Excuse me King Seokjin, there's something wrong with your food. Did you put something in it?" you asked struggling to stay conscious. You knew you were right, when you looked at the treacherous king. He was grinning. "Oh. Did I? It's such a shame you caught on too late my dear. Have a nice slumber!" You were really gonna kick his ass when you regain your strength. But for now you had no choice but to succumb to the darkness inviting you so enticingly. Your last memory being King Seokjin's taunting and laughing face.
You woke up confused and unsure of where you were, til you remembered the events of yesterday. The narcissistic king. The dinner. Jungkook. You guys blacked out. It was morning you guessed, but you couldn't really see anything since you had been blindfolded. Your other senses were more alert since you couldn't see, but you just wanted to feel if Jungkook was there with you. If he was near you. "Agent Bunny…? Are you here? Are you near me?" you called, you were glad the crazy king didn't tape your mouth to shut you up so you could call out for your partner. You were starting to get nervous because you didn't hear Jungkook respond right away. What if King Seokjin did something to him? Where did he take him?
You wanted to escape at that moment and find Jungkook, but you realized your hands were tied up. You couldn't do so much but try to thrash around and be free. Your gadgets were probably confiscated too, so you couldn't use them. You were still trying to escape when you heard a muffled sound that made you stop. Was it Jungkook? "Agent Bunny! Was that you? Are you okay? I'll get us out of here, don't worry!" Jungkook tried to reply, but of course all you heard was his muffled voice. You thrashed again as if it'll help you, when the traitor king made his presence obvious. "Oh you should worry. If you don't stop moving around, the rope that's holding you might snap. And you wouldn't want to know where you'll be falling into." he chided.
The rope that's holding you? What did he mean? Weren't you sitting down on a chair? Wait- is that why it feels weird and unstable? Are you… hanging in the air? Ballsacks. "Fine, since I'm feeling a little merciful today, I'll let your partner or is he your boyfriend? give you a little warning." the king said as he removed the cover on Jungkook's mouth, "Y/N- I meant- agent Fox! stop moving! The rope that's holding your chair is weak, If it snaps you'll fall into a piranha tank!" In Jungkook's haste to warn you, he forgot and called you by your real name again.
You didn't really mind his mistake that much right now, until the obnoxious king taunted you. "Wait- did I hear that right? Did your boyfriend just call you Y/N? Is that your name princess? It is isn't it? A dreadful name for a dreadful girl!" You weren't actually tasked to kill him but you just might. How dare he slander your name? Just he wait til you get out of here alive, you'll absolutely kick his ass! "Shut up you're the dreadful one Kim Seokjin! How dare you call her that, and insult her name!" Jungkook defended you.
"Yada yada. You're the one who should shut up. Do you want to be muffled again?" the king threatened your partner. "Let us go you foolish king! What do you gain from doing all of this anyway?" You inquired. "And what if I don't huh? What are you gonna do about it? Nothing! You can't do anything you tied up fools! You asked me what do I gain from this? A satisfying revenge! And now your boyfriend is gonna see you get eaten by piranhas, but he won't be able to do anything but watch." He retorted.
Of course it makes sense how Jungkook was able to see where you were right now, the king didn't blindfold Jungkook like he did with you. But he covered his mouth instead. "You're wrong, King Seokjin. I'm gonna save her and you can't stop me!" Jungkook screamed furious at the king. "And how are you planning to do that? You can't even get up from your seat. I'd tell you I'd like to see you try, but I've already wasted too much of my precious time for this nonsense." King Seokjin yawned seemingly to show his boredom and annoyance. "Guards! Pull the rope and bring her down." He ordered to them, but before they could pull the rope and feed you to the piranhas- a commotion happened.
And there stood, two people you didn't expect to see. "Our instructor was wondering where you two were ya know? Tsk. For supposedly being the best spies you two are getting rusty." Fiona the ogre looking princess said. "Anyway, sir told us to find you guys and save your asses, that's why we're here. I don't like you but sir asked us to save you both- so it's whatever." Fiona said as she got rid of the guards who were still trying to pull you down. Of course Agent Farquaad came with her too, and he was the one who helped untie Jungkook. Seokjin was still shookt at how his plans crumbled ever so quickly, that he just stood there mouth agape.
For the first time in your life, you were kinda relieved to see her. You finally got out of your restraints and you wanted to face King Seokjin right away, but Fiona's next words stopped you. "Now that we've saved you both, our job here is done. Though next time, try to do your job better idiots so we don't have to do it for you." she told you as they were about to go, you didn't have the time to get mad at her so you just ignored her, but before they actually did she told you one last thing. "Oh I almost forgot, there are rumors about rebels planning to attack this dumb king who hostaged you. They might be on the way here now. We'd love to help ya guys, but we have other rebels from another city to take care of. So ttyl!" and then she scurried off with her partner.
Well it's not like you can't fight the rebels yourselves, but an earlier warning would've been nice. You moved closer to Jungkook who was keeping an eye on the now submissive king. "So bunny, what's the plan now?" you inquired. "I guess we wait for them to arrive and defeat them all." was his reply. You nodded in agreement, of course that's what you're going to do.
The rebels arrived not long after, and it was quite a taxing battle, but nothing you weren't used to. They carried high tech weapons too, but you managed to steal some from them and use it on them. Just as one rebel almost shot King Seokjin, you managed to pull him to the side just in time and save his plumpous ass. To say he was shocked that you saved him, was an understatement. He was literally in awe that you still saved his life, even if he had tied you up and almost fed you to the piranhas.
The act was actually enough that he started to mayhaps have a change of heart. After a hundred butts kicked and a few exhausting hours later, you finally defeated the rebels. Police reinforcements came to collect most of them (because a few rebels always manage to escape) and took them to jail, meanwhile you've never wanted more but to get back home already and just lie on your bed for a month. Your partner looked exhausted too, but still undeniably handsome. Not that you'll ever admit that to him. You were actually missing home, even though it's only been a day. Your parents would probably- oh glob, your parents! They're probably worried sick now. You hope you'll still be allowed to go out after this.
You were so busy worrying if you'll get grounded, that you didn’t notice the narcissistic King coming up to you. "Hey." He called out, breaking you out of your thoughts and surprising you. What did he want now? "I just wanted to say, thanks for saving me. You shouldn't have, but you still did anyway. And I'm sorry for everything. Promise, I'm being sincere this time." He seemed sincere with his apology, even though he couldn't really look you in the eye that well. You could say he was embarrassed? Or guilty? Maybe both. Still, you wanted to tease him and so you probed. "Are you really being honest now? Or is it another act of yours to deceive me again?"
"I'm being sincere this time I swear, I really felt awful about what I did to you. What I did to you both." he corrected. "I realized how selfish and crazy I've been, and I'm honestly sorry for that." "Well it's great that you realized your mistakes. I forgive you I guess, I don't wanna hold grudges for too long anyway." you replied. "Really? Thank you so much! I swear I'll prove to you that I'll change for real this time." he exclaimed getting your partner's attention, making him check up on you both in case something's wrong.
"Is everything alright with you two?" Jungkook asked. "Yeah bunny. He was just apologizing that's all." you replied. "Oh ok. Wait- he apologized? For real? How unbelievable." he then sent an accusing look at King Seokjin. "Yes he did. He seemed genuine so let's just let bygones be bygones." "Yeah. You sure he won't drug us to sleep again?" "Jungkook-"
"I won't. I should've never, it was truly wrong of me. I'm sorry for taunting you and for every wrong thing I've done. Believe me, I really do feel shitty for hurting you guys who saved me." King Seokjin heard your conversation and decided to apologize to Jungkook too. "If there's anything I could do to make it up to you guys, just please tell me. I'll do it in a heartbeat." "Hmm. Maybe there is something you could do." Jungkook suddenly had an idea.
👑
"Princess Y/N! Where have you been? we've been worried sick about you! Your mother couldn't sleep waiting for you!" Your father said when you finally arrived home. "Dad it was just a day, we were invited by our friend King Seokjin to stay for the night because it was getting late." you reasoned.
"King Seokjin? Is he the gorgeous man standing next to Jungkook right now?" your father inquired. "Yes dad," "Who is he? Why didn't you both tell us about him?" "He's our new friend, we helped him and he felt grateful so he made us stay for the night."
"It's amazing how you can plan quite a perfect lie my dear, you may have fooled your father- but we both know you can't fool me." the queen finally appeared. "So tell me Y/N, where were you really?" "Mom… I can explain-" "Were you at that spy academy of yours? Or going on those nonsense missions weren't you? I'm very disappointed in you Y/N. I thought you had quit being a useless spy. But of course, you had lied to me." she scolded you. You didn’t know what hurt more, the fact that she was disappointed in you, or the fact that she thought and probably still thinks- you're a useless spy.
"She isn't a useless spy, she saved me for crying out loud!" you were surprised to see King Seokjin was actually defending you. Maybe he truly had changed. "It's true your majesty. She isn't a useless spy, in fact she's one of the best spies in our academy. She's one of the best spies I know." Jungkook added. "Spectacular, but I don't recall asking you both for your opinion. So I suggest you both stay out of this. King Seokjin it's nice to meet you but you can go home now. As for you Prince Jungkook, you should probably leave too. I had a feeling you influenced her, and I was right." the queen reprimanded.
"Jungkook didn't influence me! I wanted to be a spy on my own. I just don't understand why you won't let me. Do you not love me mom?" you exclaimed. "Enough Y/N! Not another word from you, or you'll be spending your whole life in your tower. You're grounded for a year, and that's final. Guards, escort Princess Y/N to her tower and make sure she stays there for a year." you can't believe your mother right now, she had done this before when she first discovered what you were doing in the academy, and now she's doing it again. "Darling, don't you think you're being a little too harsh on our daughter? Locked for a year in her tower? Isn't that quite too much-" the king interrupted but the queen silenced him. "No I'm not being too harsh on her, you're too lenient on her that's why she keeps being a brat. She needs to learn how to listen to me, I'm her mother and the queen after all.
You lashed out on some of the guards on the way to your tower, you were just so upset you couldn't believe it had come to this. You could've escaped them easily, but you didn't want to be disowned by your family. So you decided to take your punishment.
You scrolled through your phone for the nth time today, and you were bored. Luckily, she at least let you had your phone. You wanted to see if you had new missions to do, but you felt conflicted too, because you can't disobey your mother this time. You were just planning to take a nap again when a strawberry hit you on the face. You looked at your window to find out where the strawberry came from, and you were in awe to see it was your bunny prince on a drone airplane. "Jungkook? How did you- why are you here?"
"To get you out, of course. Who else would help you other than me?" he cockily said. "You didn't even tell me you were coming. Anyway, thanks for wanting to take me out of here, but I can't. Even if I really want to escape, I can't anymore Jungkook." you refused. "You can't or you shouldn't? I know you're afraid of disappointing your mother again baby, but I think she'll understand. Besides, I think she was just angry at that moment. She probably wants to let you go back to your room now."
Your heart warmed at his pet name for you, but you still can't agree to go with him. "Exactly, Kook. Maybe she'll want to end my punishment sooner, but what if she finds out I disobeyed her again? She'll be furious, and I don't want my punishment to be extended." "Well what if she doesn't find out? I'm sure she can't see me when I'm this high on the ground. And I promise I'll bring you back home before they check on you. Come on princess, do you really wanna stay here alone in your tower, for a year?" he persuaded. "I don't… but ugh, I hate you Jeon Jungkook. Fine, just let me get my stuff." you caved in. How were you supposed to say no when a guy as annoyingly handsome as prince Jeon asked you?
You hopped on the airplane drone and went away with your handsome prince. You and Jungkook just flew around the land, it was awe inspiring to look at the villages and people from above. When he finally brought you home you felt a little glum that the day had to end. You were relieved that you weren't caught by the queen though. You were relieved to have Prince Jeon with you. You texted your instructor about your current situation and why you can't go on missions for a while. He told you he understood, he truly is the best instructor.
Jungkook came to see you again the next day. He didn't take you away this time, he just stayed with you and you two talked all day. Jungkook visited your tower everyday, and you couldn't help but fall for him each passing day too. One night, the two of you finally shared your first kiss and it felt amazing. He didn't come back the next day though, which made you feel worried that he didn't feel the same way. Unbeknownst to you, he was actually planning how to get you out of your current situation- while he couldn't stop thinking about your kiss too.
"Y/N, it's been 3 months since you've been locked here in your tower. I don't mind visiting you but, don't you miss going on missions with me? Don't lie, I know you do. We need to get you out of here." Jungkook declared. "Jungkook is that why you didn't come yesterday? 'Cause you were planning my escape from here?" you inquired still a little upset, he didn't come to see you yesterday. "Yes actually. Why? Did you think about something else?"
"No… I just thought- nevermind it doesn't matter." "Of course it matters princess, tell me what's on your mind." he asked you moving closer to touch your cheek fondly. "I thought you didn't like our kiss… And that you thought it was a mistake. Am i right?" you asked honestly.
"No you aren't baby. I loved our kiss, I couldn't stop thinking about it. I'm sorry I made you think that way, I really was just busy pondering how to get you out of here. But I have a plan now, and that's why I'm here to ask you if you'll agree with it."
"You do? You have a plan? Why do I have a feeling it's gonna be chaotic… But fine- I wanna hear it anyway,"
"Run away with me."
Ballsacks, he's kidding right? Your Jungkook is kidding right?
💜
You made a decision that day that changed your life. You ran away with Jungkook and lived at his palace. You were finally free to go on missions without worrying about what your mother would say. Jungkook kept your existence at the palace a secret at first, putting you in a secret room no one else knows but him. But of course as all secrets do, all secrets will be revealed. His parents found out that you were now living with them, and they were shookt but thankfully they let you stay.
They advised you to tell your parents though, so your parents would stop worrying about you. You did tell your parents about your whereabouts, you missed them after all. But you also told them you couldn't live with them, if they can't accept you for being a spy. You only talked to your father, the king. As your mother didn't seem interested to talk to you. You hoped she'll accept you for who you are someday.
3 years passed and you've decided to return to the palace, your home. You're full of nerves as you're worried about how they'll react to you coming back, but also because you have an important thing to talk about to them. You had returned to inform and personally invite them to your wedding. Your relationship with Jungkook grew stronger over the years, and one lovely night he proposed to you, which you accepted of course. That's why you're now getting married and elated to be one with him.
You're with Jungkook as you faced your parents. They looked quite surprised to see your presence again after a few years. Your father smiled at you and he seemed happy to finally see you again. Your mother on the other hand, still looked indifferent as before. "My dearest princess, I'm so glad you came back." your father told you. "I'm happy to see you too, dad." you smiled at him. "Actually, I'm here- I mean we're here, because we wanted to tell you something very important. Jungkook and I are getting married."
They didn't seem surprised to hear that actually. You guessed they figured out why you came today. "We want to personally invite you to our wedding. It'd be great if you both were there." you added. "Of course we'll be there. It's a good thing we didn't have to push through with the arranged marriage we planned for you guys before. It's spectacular that you fell for each other naturally." the queen surprised you all when she replied. She didn't seem to mean it with malice but with all honesty.
"Wait- you were planning to make us have an arranged marriage?" you inquired, you weren't mad anymore just shocked that your parents had planned to wed you with Jungkook after all. "Yes. Well it was because Jungkook's parents are our friends, and your marriage would be great to strengthen our kingdom. We're sorry if the knowledge infuriates you now."
"It doesn't. I'm just surprised that's all. Anyway, mayhaps we're truly meant to be as I'm still marrying him now." you said quite fondly. "The preparations have started as the wedding is in 3 days, the stylists will come soon so please tell them if you need something. I already picked yours and dad's clothes, I hope you don't mind. Can I stay in my room for tonight? Jungkook can take the guest room." you asked. "Wait Y/N. I wanted to apologize for being a cruel mother to you." the queen's words stopped you. "I'm sorry for locking you in the tower which made you runaway from us."
"I'm sorry for not believing in you, I always knew you were a great spy- I just didn't wanna acknowledge it because I was scared of losing you. And I did anyway. I guess I'm just sorry for being a bad mom and for everything my dear. I hope someday you'll be able to forgive me." you could feel the queen's remorse through her words and facial expressions, and you realized there wasn't really anger anymore. You were just sad for the lost time. "Thanks mom, that's all I've ever wanted to hear. I just wanted you to be proud of me. And you aren't a bad mother, I understand now why you did those things. Though they're quite questionable, but I forgive you. I already did a long time ago." You hugged each other and were finally glad to be on good terms again.
👰
Your wedding day came, and everything went perfect. You wore the loveliest wedding dress, and Jungkook wore the fittest suit. You only invited your close friends and family, you actually just wanted a simple wedding. The selfish but now kind King Seokjin, came too. Along with your fellow agents, Fiona and Farquaad. They all watched as you two sealed your newly formed union with a short but sweet passionate kiss.
After the glorious event, you were now inside Jungkook's room fidgeting and anticipating- what to do for the remainder of the night. You had just finished taking a relaxing bath, and were now dressed in your nightgown. Were you finally gonna do it with him after abstaining for years? Thoughts ran through your mind while waiting for Jungkook. He had to go somewhere for a bit because of some emergency prince duties. He was even busier now, that they want him to take over as the new king. But surely he'll make time for you on your wedding night right?
You were getting sleepy waiting for him when after a while, the knob to his door slowly turned. And then came your prince- and husband, the person you've been waiting for. "I'm sorry I took so long baby, the council and the advisors were just so-" "It's okay Kook, just come here and lie with me," you called. You didn’t even realize the implications of your words until you said them, and you couldn't take them back. You blushed furiously at seeming so desperate.
"I will my love, I'm just gonna take a shower first, then I'll come join you in bed" he chirped. After Jungkook's long agonizing shower- (or it just seemed long to you, when he really didn't take that long) he finally joined you in bed. Though, you couldn't face him because you were so embarrassed of your daring words awhile ago, that you may or may not have meant. You pretended to be asleep, but of course Jungkook knows you too much to know you were just pretending. "I know you're awake baby, don't pretend to fall asleep on me now. Not when we haven't made love yet."
Jungkook's words made you a little wet, okay maybe a lot. How can he be so irresistible? You tried to take a peek at his face but failed miserably, as your attention went to his beautifully sculptured body. He was lying so close to you without any clothes on! You almost saw his dick if not for the sheets covering it. "Like what you see my love? I didn't put any clothes on yet, 'cause It would be stupid if I'm just gonna take them off in a bit. I've really been waiting for this night Y/N," he said, touching your back through your nightgown tracing your curves.
"I'm finally gonna claim you and make you mine, can I make love to you now my love?" Jungkook sincerely inquired, and you gave him your permission because you wanted him to. You wanted him to make you his and you wanted to make love with him too. And you showed how much you loved each other all through the night. You loved it when he treated you so delicately, and he wasn't in a rush. You loved it when he sucked your perky nipples until they were so sensitive and swollen. You loved it when he thrusted inside you while kissing you at the same time and holding your hand. You loved your partner in crime Jeon Jungkook, the most loyal agent and bunny in the world. Your prince and your husband. And you're pretty sure he loved you too.
And they loved happily ever after. Fin. 🧚🏻‍♀️

I still live, but...
...a lot of shit's been happening in a short amount of time. A lot has been happening RL wise and as much as I want to return on doing art and rewind, it's just... hard...
Read under the cut 'bout my bs
I think I've mentioned a lot that I've got a lot of problems with my father and that mom and me are living at the same house right now. Though just a month ago she stumbled and broke her leg. Since then stuff's been super stressful. I will spare you the details how fucking exhausting this was, it sure was something. And I'm just so fucking tired that I can't get a break to breath. Additionally I've started to work at a job that I like to call a "fake job" since I don't get paid that much and I'm only there to be kept busy (at least it's more than an internship LMAO). Above that I got a backache lately that's limiting me VERY much since I neither can't clean the house nor visit my mom as much as I'd like to. And now additionally I got sick too and since I'm coughing, it might be even covid. Still waiting on the results for that.
But the thing that's weighting on my shoulders the most was the mail I got just last week. The divorce documents for my mom that came from my father's lawyer. Mom's still in hospital since she can't walk and the documents state that they want us to move out by the end of the year, so that the house can get sold. It gets better, our lawyer is having a kid and doesn't take any new stuff. Which means I have to look for a new lawyer.
I'm just so SO overwhelmed that all of these are placed on my shoulders. I can't possibly leave my mom alone with this because she doesn't understand how a single thing works.
It's just so much. I feel like I don't get any time to breath and stuff still keeps happening. I'm not getting a break and it's super hard to keep up with everything.
I want to draw so SO badly. I need it. I need to have my off time to chill and relax. The whole comic is there for me to relax. But it's hard when bullshit around you keeps happening.
Ughh...
I hope this whole struggling finds an end. Because I'm... so tired...

Soooooooo we leased a car today! My (our) old car shit the bed last October and my Nana has graciously been letting me use hers for work 6 days a week. The majority of the time I was out of work for my surgery and then when I went back in January she still wasn’t driving cause of her surgery so it sort of worked out. But now that she’s back to driving it really became crunch time for me to get a car. Technically it’s mine and my girlfriends but I’ll be using it most for work.
My blood test results came back showing that my iron is very low so I’ll be starting 3x a day iron pills that I’m not really looking forward to. I’ve been looking up low iron and anemia and feeling fatigued and tired is a symptom so now when I feel exhausted I’m like “is it the iron or am I starting to get depressed again”?
Which speaking of the dreadful D word… it’s March. So many alarms are going off in my mind things are going to get bad again…. like they always do in March… better start retreating…. stop getting close to people… 🙄🙄 ugh I’m fine and will probably be fine it just sucks when I typically think of memories as “this time last year..” “this time 2 years ago, 4 years ago, 6 years ago…”
I’m honestly hoping March flies by but at the same time I don’t want April to fast approach cause I really wanted to make it my goal to have a second job by April and ughh that is just stressful and worrisome.
Next week me and my girlfriend are going away for 2 nights to The Vineyard. I’m so excited because it’s the off season and it won’t be jam packed with any tourists and we’re taking our car over on the ferry since it’s much cheaper right now. We went to The Vineyard for a day trip a couple years ago and it was gross and hot and I’m so looking forward to a little getaway with her especially because I know she’s been struggling a lot lately.
I’m getting sick of this job. Hence the need to apply elsewhere!!!! Like I have to work at 6am tomorrow and just thinking about going into that job is enough to make me want to call out… and my mind just wandered off into that possibility but I can’t.

The Story of Will Martinez
About me: Hello! My name is CJ, and I am a high student that loves to write. (You can skip this part btw) Thank you for clicking on this story out of all the other ones here, out on Tumblr, it means a lot. If you happen to like this shortish story, please follow or whatever because I hope to post a lot of stories I make in my spare time on here! I want to become better at writing, so if anyway has any tips for me to become a better writer and help me fulfill one of my dreams of becoming an author, shoot me a message (I’ve only been on Tumblr for about 5 minutes so idk if u can send messages). If u read this, then thank you. ONTO THE STORY.
“Ughh.” I thought to myself. At least I thought I did because everyone was staring at me. We are in a huge math test and obviously, no talking.
“Why is everyone looking at me?” I asked everyone in the classroom. I just say stuff aloud without thinking about it. I used to write down or record myself complaining when I was mad or upset so I could just get it out of my mind. That was a while ago. Looks like I have never gotten out of the habit of speaking my mind, literally. Then reality hit me, maybe everyone in the class had heard me sigh.
“Mr. Martinez!” Yelled my math teacher Mr. Mitchell. “You know there is no talking during a test. Go down to the principal's office now or I’ll escort you there myself.” Mr. Mitchell was the oldest teacher in my school, and the strictest. He used to scare me when I was walking down the hallway in sixth grade. Even now, I’m in eighth grade I’ll admit he does sometimes give me the creeps. Every night, my friends and I would talk trash about him at the skate park after school.
“Go now!!” Mr. Mitchell yelled again.
“Ok, ok, ok.” I answered with a little attitude.
“I'm going alright.” I swiftly left that classroom planning on never returning there ever again.
“Alright,” I whispered to myself. “I got two options, go down to the principal's office and get yelled at loud enough so the whole school can hear. Or do my other option which is just camp in the bathroom.” Then I realized something. For some reason Mr. Mitchell makes sure the office knows you're going down there.  Not going down there can cost you another week or two on top of my detention I am going to get. He makes it obvious that he calls the office though. To my knowledge and personal experience.  He’s the only teacher that does that sort of thing.
When I got near Ms. Silver’s office, she was already waiting for me. She was new to the school and looked pretty young, maybe in her twenties or thirties. Although she was pretty short, maybe 5 feet tall. She also had the bluest eyes a human could ever see on another human. She didn’t look like a principal at all. She looked like a laid back english teacher.
“Will Martinez?” Ms. Silver said to me. She didn’t sound like she was unsure about who I was. She sounded like she knew exactly who I was.
“Uh yea, I’m Will.” I spoke in a frail voice. I have never spoken so weakly before. I usually just speak normally, not like I was a nervous wreck.
I walked in her office and there was artwork everywhere.  It looked like she made them herself though. You can see progress in her paintings. Some not looking so good, and some looking like a professional artist made them.
“Mr. Martinez!” She yelled so loud that I think the whole school heard that. “How dare you disrespect your teacher and his test!” Ms. Silver turned from a sweet looking teacher, to a horrifying monster you would expect to read about in the Goosebumps books. See, I'm used to hearing yelling from Mr. Mitchell, but nothing this intense.
“Mr. Martinez!” she yelled once more. I'm getting the vibe from her that she absolutely loves yelling at kids.
“I am going to ask you one more time, why were you disrespecting your teacher and his test?” I couldn’t bring myself to say anything, my throat felt like there was something clogging it or something. I’ve never felt this way before. Before I knew it, I was turning pale and sweating. My stomach was knotting up and I felt like I was going to throw up.
“I-I,” I said in an effort trying to get words out of my mouth.
“I didn’t mean to disrespect anyone or anything.” I don’t know what it was, but at this point in time, I was petrified of her. Just looking in her general direction scared me, so I just started looking at the artwork. Well, that was until she grabbed my face and made me look at her.
“Answer me!” She begged for an answer, but I couldn’t talk. The pain and clogging in my throat is getting unbearable.
“Okay, you can go.” She said. “I got everything I needed from you.”
“Are you going to tell my parents?” I managed to get those words out. “Get out of my office before I do it in front of you.” She responded. I felt relieved and started to walk out. After my brain finally processed what she said, I started panicking. She meant she was going to call them, but not when I was in the room with her.
“Crap, what do I do now?” I asked myself. I wasn’t thinking rationally anymore, I was picturing my parents beating the crap out of me if they knew what I did. To think of it, asking one question led to this. I started wondering why my school was so strict with everything.
“Just asking one stupid question surely doesn’t lead to this in other schools. Right?”
Chapter 2
After my panic attack of what just happened, I just decided to wait out the day in the bathroom. I was frightened of just the thought of going home. I would always get beat and cut by my parents. I always came into school with small scars and bruises on my body. I tried my best to hide them from everybody in my school. More times than I would like to count, people asked why I was so cut up. They never got their answer. It didn’t help that my parents picked me up for school.
“What would happen if I just ran out of the school before the day was done” I thought to myself.
“Maybe Terrance won't mind if I stay at his place for the foreseeable future.” Terrance always skips school to play video games, or sleep. Without thinking, I bolted out of that bathroom and into the hall. Sweat was already streaming down my face for some reason, the cool air of the school pressed against my body trying to keep me inside the doors. I run faster and faster until, BAM. I crashed into the doors not knowing that they are locked during the day. Ms. Silver heard me bang on the door and came running out of her office. After regaining my balance I immediately started to run again.
I remembered that there are doors near my classroom, all I have to do is run fast enough so the kids in the classrooms can't see that it's me running through the halls of the school like a complete lunatic.
I bashed into the door. It had opened. I saw the school's security running through the doors as well.
“Wow they really don’t want me to leave.” I said under my breath. Without hesitation started running in the direction of Terrance’s house. All I was hoping for is Terrance to awake and ready to talk because there is one thing I have been keeping from everyone.
Chapter 3
When I got to Terrance’s house, there were no cars in the driveway, but that didn’t stop me from knocking on the door. I suddenly felt sick again, like I was going to throw up. There was sweat streaking down my face from running so much.
I was standing outside of Terrance’s door trying to summon the courage and strength to just hit the door with my fist.
“Ok.” I said, “All I have to do is knock on the door, like I have done countless times before.” For some reason, today felt different from every other time I went over his house. It was really quiet, too quiet. Too quiet. There is almost always some form of complaining coming from the house.
“Here goes nothing, literally.” I said to myself trying to get myself to knock on the door.  Surprisingly, Terrance opened the door.
“Hey, why aren’t you at scho-.” Terrance was cut short because I immediately grasped him in a hug. That hug wasn’t the type of hugs you give your best friends when you haven’t seen them in a while. It was the type of hug where they immediately know there is something wrong. That was the first time I have actually hugged someone.  It felt good. It felt like someone cared about me and was worried about me. I didn't want that.
“Will?” Terrance asked. “What's wrong?”
“Could I come in first?” I asked him, almost starting to tear up like crazy, but I held myself together.
“Yea sure, come in” Terrance said. I could tell, Terrance was worried about me. He only wears one face when he's around Randy and I. Reckless. This was a different face, it was his caring and worried face. I’ve never seen it before though. I don’t think Randy has even seen it. We both sat on his bed and there was a moment of silence before Terrance asked,
“Will, what's wrong? You are never like this.”
I was always very hesitant about answering this question. Mainly because I didn’t like the answer I would have given. I tried to summon the remaining strength I had left in my body. I have never told anyone the truth about how I was feeling. I was too embarrassed about all my feelings.
“The truth is.” I wanted to just stop answering and restart the day over again but I was already too deep in to change the subject.
“The truth is, I had very bad depression basically my whole life. I couldn’t tell anyone because I felt people would just stay away from me and ignore me, thinking I’m a loser who is nothing but a sad, pathetic loser. I feel like it has gotten worse between my house, and school. My parents have been,” I was wondering why I couldn’t stop myself from talking. I felt like I was talking way too much. “My parents have been hitting and cutting me. It just happened all of a sudden, and I have no idea why. That’s why I always have bruises and cuts all over my body. They don’t give me rational answers anymore.” I was out of breath from talking so much. I couldn’t stop myself from talking, I wish I could’ve. I looked at Terrance’s face. He looked like he was thinking about everything I just said.
“Will.” Terrance said to me in a reassuring voice. “I promise you, everything will be alright. Randy and I will always be here for you no matter what you are going through.”
“Thanks Terrance.” I responded.
“Is that why you ran out of school?” Terrance asked.
“Yea, at least I think so.” I responded. I was caught off guard by that for some reason. I knew that question was coming, I didn’t know when. So I made the mistake of letting my guard down.
“Ok.” Terrance started speaking all of a sudden. “I'm sorry but I think you should go, my parents are going to me home soon and I have to be prepared to tell them why I skipped school again. Without saying anything extra, I walked out of his house.
“Where am I going to go now?” I asked myself outside of Terrance’s. “I can’t go back to my house because I don’t want to be killed, literally.” It’s the sad truth, but at least it's the truth, my parents will kill me if I go home. I have to think of something.
On the walk home I was thinking about a way to deal with my horrid parents. There were about five hundred different ideas, but I didn’t like them. There was one in particular that I have thought of doing in the past. Calling the police on my own parents. I always seemed to talk myself out of it. They were my parents after all, and they were basically the only family I had left. This time was different though, I felt, vengeful. It’s a feeling I have never felt before. I haven’t felt something new in a long time. The only two emotions I have been a custom to is pain and depression.
I kept trying to talk myself out of calling the police on my own parents, but at this point, nothing could change my mind.
“Ok.” I said trying to build up the courage to take my phone and just dial 911. “It’s so simple. All I have to do is press the nine once and then, one twice.” I said once more trying to amp myself up to try and press three numbers.
Chapter 4
“911 what’s your emergency?” I was nervous, like at school, I couldn’t speak at all. I have never talked to anyone associated with the police before. The police dispatcher sounded very calm, like he has dealt with this type of situation a million times.
“Uh, hi” I said in a really frail voice. “My parents have been beating and cutting me badly and I have no idea how to deal with it anymore.” I started to cry while on the phone. I haven’t cried in years. Real crying. I have always teared up, but never cried. I absolutely never explained to people what my parents do to me, especially strangers.
“Alright, where do you live so we could send an officer there.”
“66 Abbey Road.” I replied. There was pain in my voice, like my soul being stabbed over and over again. It wasn’t a good feeling. Not in the slightest.
“Alright, an officer will be there no less than ten minutes.” She said. I didn’t even say “thank you,” I couldn’t. How could I say thank you. I just called the police on my own parents.
“There is no going back now.” I whispered to myself. When I started toward my house, my legs were getting heavy, like it was my body telling me to not go near that house. My head was getting light, and my eyes started to water.
“What’s going on with me?” I asked myself expecting an answer. I never got one. Why was I trying to get closer to that house to the house that I was trying oh so desperately to avoid. I will never know. The closer I got to that house, the worse I felt. With every step, the closer I was to collapsing.
I was in front of the house. That was the worst mistake I have ever made. In front of my view, an overly large house. With two faces in different windows, looking at me. At first I had no idea I knew they were, but upon looking closer. They were my personal devils in my makeshift hell. My Mom and Dad.
My heart beating faster and faster, quivering more and more violently. I couldn’t stop myself from feeling all of these things. I usually could stop myself from feeling anything. It was like a light switch. I could flip it to turn off my feelings. This time was different . I felt weak and helpless.  I couldn’t control anything in my life anymore. It was a weird feeling but I didn’t care. That was the least of my worries. The biggest of my worries was the two demons that live in my house.
I walked up to the door, put my hand on the doorknob, then. I felt a glimmer of hope. I heard the sirens of the police. That was my hope. My final hope. They were seconds away, for once in a long while.
“I could take a couple seconds in my personal hell.” Oh I was wrong. When I walked through the doors of hell, “WHAM!” My Dad's belt came flying across my face.
“WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING!?” He was yelling, if you could call it that. It was way louder than yelling, but a little quieter than screaming. I could barely feel the belt across my face. I was already a custom to it. Maybe too custom to it.
“SKIPPING A MATH TEST THEN RUNNING OUT OF SCH-” before he could even finish his thought, he was taken down by a police officer. My Dad's yelling was so loud that no one couldn’t hear anything in their surroundings. My face was so red, it was like when I was embarrassed by something.
“Are you ok kid?”
“Yea, I think so.” I answered the cop. My face was turning numb. I couldn’t feel a thing.
“What's going on down here?!” My mom stormed down the stairs. She only saw me though. She didn’t notice the cop right in the living room. She took the nearest belt and started using it, but improperly. Again, thirty seconds later I was getting beat again. This time I didn’t care as much. The cop saw it start.
Both my Mom and Dad where in handcuffs and getting led to the cop car. I felt, happy. For once it was something different besides pain and pain only. I started to lounge on the couch, then the cop came up to me.
“Hey I need to talk to you, before you relax too much.”
“Yea sure what’s up?” I was very confused why he needed to talk to me. I had done nothing besides call the police on my own parents. Maybe that was the reason, to ask why I called the police on them.
“Since you are only 14, you obviously can’t live by yourself. So uh, do you have any family in the area that could take care of you?” This was another topic I often avoided. The rest of my family, the ones who cared about me, disappeared. No one knows, even the police who are great detectives, couldn’t figure it out. It would’ve been nice to have like an Uncle you could talk to, or a cousin who was your closest friend. They are all gone though.
“Uh, no. They all died, well I’m guessing they did.”
“Oh, I’m so sorry to hear that. When we get down to the station we’ll ask you Mom or Dad if they know anyone who could take you in.” His voice sounded like he hated saying that sentence. He was only telling me the truth though. I couldn’t argue with that at all. He was telling me the truth.
“So what is going to happen to me then?”
“Well.” The cop went on. “I’ll let you stay here, for the night. If your Mom or Dad doesn’t find anyone to take you in, then you’ll be put into an orphanage.” I couldn’t believe anything he was telling me at this point. How could I. This had to be a nightmare. It wasn’t, it was real life with a real human being telling me the real, painful, truth. This was horrible.
“Uh, okay, lets just hope that they can find someone.”
“Yea, let's hope.” The cop responded. His voice sounded comforting. Just what I needed to hear funny enough.
He started towards the door.
“See ya kid.” The cop said before leaving the house.
I heard the car start, then drive off.
“What am I going to do now?” I panicked. I took my phone and tried to call Terrance.
“Oh please pick up,” I pleaded to the phone. “Pick up. Pick up. Pick up!” There was no answer, just the answering machine that answered if no one picked the phone. I immediately went to call Randy. He always picks up no matter what. He could be inside a volcano being burned alive, and he’ll still pick up the phone.
“Hello?” Randy picked up the phone, he sounded tired though. I would’ve felt bad if the orphanage wasn’t on my mind.
“Randy something good, and bad just happened.”
“Why what happened?” He always sounds very interested whenever either Terrance and I say something remotely interesting, he zones back in. Then asks five-million questions about that subject. He was the only one who had known about my parents beating the crap out of me every other hour of every day.  Well until I told Terrance.
“I finally broke, I called the police on my parents.”
“Wait, what do you mean? Why did you call the police on your parents?” It seemed like. he had completely forgotten about what I told him about my parents.
“Well, I called the police on them because they were hitting me and cutting me every other hour, glad to hear that you forgot.”
“Oh no, I didn’t forget that, it just doesn’t seem like you. Calling the police on your parents.” He spoke, but not like he was happy, like he usually does. It sounded like he was concerned about me, it sounded like how Terrance sounded when I told him about everything.
“Yea, but that's not the worst of it though.” I spoke. Suddenly my tone had changed from confused, to scared.
“Go on.”
“If my parents don’t find someone to take me in and obviously, take care of me. They are going to put me into an orphanage or something like that.” I had already forgotten where I was going if my parents don’t feel like finding someone to take care of me.
“Oh my god, are you sure or was he just saying that?” He said, I could tell he was quivering. His voice sounded very shaky. He was as hurt by that as I was, maybe more. If that’s possible.
“Yea, I’m sure.” I didn’t know what else to say, my brain was turning into a foggy mess.
“Oh hey Will, my parents need me. Uh I’ll be right back. Ok?”
“Uh yeah that's fine.”
Chapter 5
It was like an hour back before I started to consider hanging up on Randy. I honestly can’t believe I didn’t hang up before then, but thank god he came back to the phone.
“Hey, sorry I took so long. Oh wow that was about an hour.” Randy caught me off guard. I was just wasting my time watching TV, not expecting Randy to come back to the phone. Funny enough, he did.
“Oh, uh it’s fine, I think haha. Wow, I can’t believe it’s already 10:30.” I usually go to bed around nine o’clock. It wasn’t my choice though, it was my Mom and Dad’s choice. I was fourteen, and I still had a nine year olds bedtime schedule. I have to admit, it feels good that I don’t have to go to bed.
“So if you don’t mind asking, what did your parents want?” I asked. He was gone for over an hour, so I want an answer why he didn’t come back faster. I obviously didn’t say that, but I was certainly thinking about it.
“So, in theory. If you could have the chance to live with my family, would you.” He asked. I could tell Randy was very nervous asking that question. I get why though, asking your best friend to ask to move in with them.
“That’s random. Before I answer, why do you ask?” While I was asking that I think I already knew the answer. My parents called Randy’s parents, asking if I could live with them.
“Well,” Randy started talking, but I was too excited to think or listen to what Randy had to say. Then I started thinking, why did my parents call Randy’s house, if they didn’t care about me in the slightest. Maybe they did, they just didn’t know how to say it. But then why did they keep hurting me. Nothing made sense, but I didn't care. I will be living with Randy, one of my closest friends.
“My Mom wanted to know why I got a 60 on a math test. Then I just told her what type of position you were in. I told her that your parents are in jail, but you had no one to take you in. Long story short, I offered if you could live with us. Obviously, she was very uncertain about having you living with us. It took a whole lot of convincing, but they said yeah. Well, a lot more than just ‘yeah,’ but whatever.” Randy said that all in one breath. By the end of that paragraph, he was trying to get his breath back from talking so much.
“That’s great news, well for me haha. Are you sure your parents allowed this.”
“Come on, Will. You know me, I tell no lies.” I couldn’t believe this in the slightest.
“I’m going to live with, Randy.” I thought to myself.
“Hey, I’m tired. I am going to bed, my family will be picking you up around one o’clock.”
“Okay, thanks Randy, well I guess I should get to sleep also.” I said before passing out on the couch.
Chapter 6
When I looked at the clock in the living room,
“Oh no.” I said looking at the time. “Is it really almost one o’clock?” I was in disbelief that I had slept for fourteen and a half hours. To be honest, I still can’t believe that. In the back of my mind for the whole time I was waiting for Randy, one thing was just floating around. What will Terrance’s response to this whole situation be? I chose not to worry about it too much though.
I quickly packed all of my clothes and a few other things like headphones and chargers into a bag that was too small. I didn’t care in the slightest. I looked at my phone, the time read one o’clock.
“Randy should be here any second now.” I assured myself. I was nervous the whole time I was awake, but as soon as I saw one o’clock on my phone. It was like I was back outside my house trying to get the courage to walk inside as if it was yesterday. Which it wasn’t, it was a brand new day. A fresh start.
When I heard that doorbell rang, I almost killed myself by running down the stairs so fast.
“Well, this is it, a fresh start at life.” So many emotions that were completely new to me flooded my mind. Most importantly, happiness. I took one good last look at my now old house, and opened the front door to find Randy holding a huge suitcase.
“Uh, Randy. Why do you have a suitcase.” I said utterly surprised to find him holding a suitcase the size of him. I had no idea they made them that big, I guess I was wrong.
“It’s to transport your belongings to my house of course! What are you stupid or somethin?”
“I have no idea anymore Randy.” I spoke softer than usual, but I don’t think Randy noticed.
“And uh, I have everything here, in this very small bag.” I pointed to the bag that was on my back. My parents barely bought me anything, and I am just lucky I got food to survive, clothes and a phone. Well that’s just great to get from parents who don’t like you in the first place.
“You’re joking right? Your parents barely bought you a couple pieces of clothes and can barely working phone?” Randy’s voice sounded like he was sorry for me. His eyes looked like he wanted to ask me how I survived for fourteen years. He remained quiet though.
“Yeah, it’s the sad truth, but it is the truth. I barely came out of this year alive though. This year was the worst one of my life.”
“I’m so sorry to hear that Will.” Randy just looked at my body now, especially my face.
“Were there that many scars and bruises on your face, and your body?” He started to quiver as if he could feel my own pain. A friendship becomes special when he can feel what you're feeling. That’s what just happened, another person feeling what I was feeling. We started towards Randy’s house. My new house. Randy said something fairly interesting.
“You know Mr. Mitchell right?” Randy said slowly. Why was he asking me this, when he’s my homeroom and math teacher.
“Duh, how could I not, he’s my homeroom and math teacher.” I responded in a tone that implies he was sorta wasting my time.
“Ok, so there is something that is always moving in my backyard, and it’s not an animal. I think it’s Mr. Mitchell.” Randy said, terrified. Something was clogging my throat just then, like someone was in control of my body, preventing me from speaking. I have no idea what this feeling was, but I absolutely hated it. We walked the rest of the way to his house in complete silence until I got the urge to say something.
“Maybe we could prove it’s Mr. Mitchell.”
“Yeah, how are we going to do that. We are only 14 years old.” Randy was right, we couldn’t do that. We were stupid middle schoolers. Couldn’t even try to pull off trying to steal something from the corner store.
Chapter 7
“It has been a couple years since I have written here” I whispered to myself looking at my old diary. It was covered in dust. I opened it and the last entry was November 5th, 2015.
“Wow, five years.” I immediately started to wonder why I stopped writing in the diary. I looked around on the page, not reading it and I saw water stains. They were small stains, tooked like someone had taken an eye dropper to it. It was weird, but it got way weirder. I read that page.
“November 5, 2015, that’s the date that my family died (present parents excluded).” I felt sick, like I was going to throw up. Those water stains weren’t eyedrop drops, they were tears, my tears.
“Why can’t I remember any of this? That time of my life is completely blank.” Then I started to do what I do best, panic.
“RANDY!” I screamed. I usually have no one to talk to, but since I'm now living with Randy, I finally had someone to talk to.
“Yea, yeah I’m up.” Randy said, trying to mask the fact he fell asleep at eight in the afternoon.
“Hey Randy, Please tell me you weren’t sleeping.”
“Of course not, why would I.” Randy said, trying so hard not to close his eyes for longer than a second. It was funny, seeing a fourteen year old falling asleep at only eight o’clock in the afternoon.
“Whatever, well I found my old diary.”
“Wait, for real.” Randy sounded really interested now, as usual.
“Yeah, It was in my bag, I have no idea how It got there though. I don’t think I even packed it.” I completely forgot that I had a diary to begin with. For some reason, I can’t remember anything that had happened before 2016. I didn’t really take note of it though. I just passed it as another way my brain hates me, not letting me remember anything important.
“Well, how did it get there then?” Randy sounded as surprised as me, maybe more. He always made a bigger deal out of things than needed.
“Well, what are you waiting for, read the page. If you dare. Haha.” Randy said that. He didn’t expect me to actually start reading the page. Well, I was going to until we heard rustling outside my room window.
“What’s that?” Randy asked. We both went to the window.
“Ha, maybe it's an animal.” Randy said stupidly.
“What type of animal would be out at this time of night, that could make the leaves rustle.” Sometimes I can’t believe how stupid Randy could be. It amazed me how small his brain could be.
“Wait.” Randy had turned pale, like he had just seen a ghost. He pointed to a shadowy figure in the distance. It was a human, it was standing on two legs. It’s clothes were worn out, almost ripping. Jeans so torn, I was surprised they were still in one piece. It's very messy hair, looked like it hadn’t been washed for at least a couple years.
The human looked our way, I could tell Randy was as terrified. For once, I was more horrified than Randy.
“Will, it’s looking at us. It is Mr. Mitchell!” Randy was paralized, he could barely move, so was I.
“Holy crap, why is he in your backyard?” I wanted to start yelling, but I couldn’t.
“We gotta get out of this room now!”
“Good idea, really good idea. You know what that’s the best idea you have ever had.” I responded to Randy’s great idea.
Mr. Mitchell looked like he was carrying two human-like objects. I looked closer before running out of that room. I saw two small children. I immediately started running, but Randy must’ve accidentally locked the door. I pounded and pleaded on the door. I heard running to the door. Randy was too late, Mr. Mitchell had grasped me. I felt bad for Randy, he saw his best friend get taken away from him.
Chapter 8
“Oh good.” A familiar voice filled the room. I must’ve passed out when Mr. Mitchell had taken me hostage.
“Took long enough to wake up.” I thought that it was a cop speaking to me, going to start asking questions on who kidnapped me. Oh how wrong I was. I was in a bomb shelter type room. Then I saw him, Mr. Mitchell. I looked around the room, it was very large. Maybe the size of a lunchroom. There was science equipment everywhere. It looked as if he was doing experiments. There was liquid in large containers in all corners of that room. I saw children. Hanging from the ceiling, but not by their feet. I couldn’t believe what was happening.
“Are you going to kill me?” I summon the energy left in my body to start speaking. It was very soft, but at least I could talk. Mr. Mitchell didn’t respond. He took a bottle of the liquid from one of those corners.
“Let’s see if this version works.” Mr. Mitchell was shoving a test tube down my throat and made me drink the mystery liquid. It tasted like drinking ocean water. It was absolutely disgusting. I would’ve thrown up, but I was using all my energy in my body just trying to keep myself breathing. I looked at myself, I was hooked up to a computer of some kind.
“Dammit!” Mr. Mitchell yelled out. “Looks like you’ll end up like everyone else who didn’t pass the test. He looked up at the children on the ceiling.
“So you are going to hang me?” I asked
“What, hang you, hahaha.” Mr. Mitchell sounded, not like a human. An animal who evolved to look like a human, but wasn’t human.
“You deserve something way worse.
” What could be worse than being hung?” I thought to myself.  Mr. Mitchell pulled something out of his desk drawer. It was shiny. Looked like something that would be in a fancy kitchen, but this wasn’t anything like a kitchen. I took another glance at the object Mr. Mitchell was toying with his hands. It was a knife. Then I realized what he was going to do to me. He was going to stab me. It was one thing I haven’t felt yet. I honestly thought I was going to experience it way sooner than today.
Mr. Mitchell took the knife, and slowly put it to my side. As anyone could imagine, it hurt worse than getting hit in the face by a belt at full force. I felt the knife going further and further into my body, then it got pulled out. I heard a door cave in.
“Police put your ha-” The cop didn’t even finish his sentence before tackling  Mr. Mitchell. He had him handcuffed then called for a paramedic.
“I need a paramedic here at 10 Howard Drive this instant. I felt the blood gushing out of my body.
“Help me!” I said, trying to yell out. The cop came running towards me, he applied as much pressure to the stab wound as possible, but it wasn’t enough to slow the bleeding. I started to feel weaker than I did before, I started to get tired. My vision started to get foggy when I saw in the very far distance, paramedics.
I woke up later that night. Well, I think it was night. I didn’t even know how long I was sleeping. My memory was foggy, I barely remembered what happened the day I got kidnapped.
“Is anyone here?” I asked aloud. A doctor swiftly came into the room.  He looked like he had been up for hours, there were bags under his eyes and he was a little clumsy walking in the room.
“Oh finally, you are up.” He sounded relieved that I was awake. Maybe there were several police officers wanting to talk to me or something.
“There are some people here to see you, they say their names are Randy and Terrance.” For some reason I was sorta disappointed to learn that police officers have not come to see me about all what happened.
When Terrance and Randy walked into the room, I could tell something was wrong. What did the doctors say to them, if they said anything at all. I did feel sick, however. It wasn’t like a sick feeling I get when I come down with the flu. It was different, very different. Every once in a while, I could feel my stomach, like almost move. It was a weird feeling.
“Is everything okay?” I asked Randy and Terrance. They weren’t acting like themselves. They didn’t answer me, they just looked around the room. It looked as if they were avoiding looking me in the eye’s. They studied what machines I were hooked up to, but never looked at me. Randy had tears forming under his eyes, same as Terrance. Terrance never shows his tears, I didn’t even know that guy cried.
“Guys, what’s wrong.” I asked in a worried tone. I was scared they knew something about  my condition or something. Something I didn’t know about myself.
“Nothing is wrong, we are just worried about you, that’s all.” Randy spoke. Immediately after he spoke, Terrance hit him. It was like he didn’t want me to know anything.
“What do you guys know?” I asked a couple times. I still got no answer. They were both tearing up at this point. It was funny. I had just got maybe three days worth of sleep, and I still felt tired. It felt like what I was feeling in that bunker, but not as severe.
“How long was I out for?”
“About 4 days.” Terrance said. It sounded like he was going to start crying while replying to me. I finally put the pieces together. I was dying. Whatever Mr. Mitchell gave me, it didn’t do what he wanted to do what he intended. It was instead poisoning me, killing me very slowly.
“Randy, am I going to die?” Randy looked at me, then smiled. He didn’t have to answer. His smile gave me the answer really quickly.
“Let’s go Randy, can’t let my mom think we forgot about her.” There they went. As quickly as they entered, they left.
Chapter 9
Weird, looks like Will was keeping track of what happened in a journal. Wow,
he’s a really good writer. I'm not as good as him. I haven’t properly introduced myself yet, so sorry about that. I am Randy, Will has mentioned me a lot here actually. Anyway, I know I have marked this down as “Chapter 9,” but it isn't really a chapter. It is really to tell you what happened to this awesome writer. Almost a day after we left that hospital room, Will passed away. It was about a year after his death. I think it was a day later, maybe a week. Anyway, I am just finding this notebook. I knew he liked to read, but never thought he liked to write. Wow I am getting off topic really quick. Anyway, The teacher who did this to Will, Mr. Mitchell. He had been put into a maximum security prison. Terrance took it really hard though. He was never the same after Will’s death. He was almost never at school. When he was he always wore black clothes. He used to wear jeans and a blue t-shirt no matter the temperature out
I think I am going to try and get this published. At least try and share It to my whole school. That’ll be hard to do, but it’s worth a try. I think Will would’ve asked us to get this out to the public. Or at least hinted to it.
“If you can still hear me buddy, just know we all miss you.”

Monday, April 4th 20XX
“Okay so how do I do this exactly? *camera falls from its spot* Ah crap crap Jesus! Is it still working? Yep yep it is there’s my ugly face hehe. God why is my hair like that? Anyways um…. Hi, I guess? Do you say hi to a recording? This is weird to say the least. Today was the first day of school as you might have guessed and it was ….awkward. I got lost in that huge building twice and I ignored some kids by accident because they called me by my last name! I’m used to people referring to you when they say our last name ugh this is gonna take some time getting used to. The teacher is ....unique. He came into our classroom in a yellow sleeping bag and proceeded to worm around the room like a caterpillar. I don’t think he is the really giddy giddy fun teacher; he wrecked us during training. Gave us a freaking heart attack with a so called prank he pulled. *exasperated sigh* Who says that you’ll be expelled if you score last?? I don’t get it!! His name is Aizawa-sensei and I already believe he doesn’t like me. He stared at me for a solid five minutes with a frown on his face during training. If I’m being honest he was watching me the whole day which is kinda weird. I don’t know how to take that. Is he interested in my quirk or is he asking himself why they put me in his class? I can hear his voice saying ‘why do they keep sending me imbeciles?’. Well mister you can’t get rid of me now I got in and I’m staying! HA! *bang on the wall* YO SKY KID KEEP IT DOWN MAN! SORRY TOYOMI-SAN…..That was one of my roommates….She is a social worker I think. Oh I almost forgot, the apartment I found is nice. It deserves its price I mean. But you already know that since I called you once I got back from school…. See why this is stupid??? I’ll keep telling you things you already know because I have Alzheimer and I don’t remember what you know. *sigh* Oh well I guess you’ll have to endure this torture, you are my mother after all and I’m your precious only daughter so what can you do really? I finished my costume design. It turned out pretty cool, I like it. The jacket you suggested makes it ten times better. I look like a pilot. Well technically I am a pilot. I pilot clouds and now that you’re not here to scold me when I’m flying around I’ll take full advantage of it. You can’t stop me mother! Anyways, it’s getting late and I have school tomorrow so I’ll end this here. I don’t know when I’ll record next…. Most likely when I’m feeling home sick again. Haha it's the first day away from home and I’m already missing you and those two idiots. *soft snort* Goodnight mom, love you.” *recording ends*.

“Hello again, it’s me, your neighborhood cripple. *wince* You could say I’m a sight for sore eyes because I’m sore all over. You’ve seen the attack on the news. Of course you have, everyone’s shaming UA high for lack of security. Why you haven’t called me yet is a mystery, I guess you’re at work? And before you start throwing a tantrum about me not calling first and blah blah, I wanted to record this first, let you see the actual injuries before I minimize them when I call you. *stares off* Something weird happened during the attack. Apart from the fact that well we were attacked and our homeroom teacher was almost beaten into a pulp, the villains were ….. interesting. When they first appeared I was teleported by this minecraft portal looking ass to another part of the USJ and to be honest I kicked some serious ass. That *wince* that was not the weird thing. While I was fighting I saw Aizawa-sensei facing some type of giant ostrich? Although that that thing wasn’t an ostrich…. I don’t know what it was but mom it was terrifying. *visible shiver* It just grabbed him and mopped the floor with him and I just couldn’t sit there and do nothing. So I went to help or at least that was my goal. That person who teleported me at the beginning tried to do it again and I may have snapped a little bit. I got so angry when he moved me to the other side of the arena that for a moment I totally forgot about what was happening. While I was fighting him his quirk kinda connected with mine. It was strange. Every time I shot a cloud at him the mist that surrounded him kinda engulfed it. It wasn’t only happening to me. I could manipulate his mist. Not every time just like he couldn’t sabotage my clouds every time, but it still happened. I don’t know why it happened or how it happened and I have no idea what I’m gonna do about it.  Maybe it was part of his quirk but it didn’t happen to anyone else…..*wince* God I have a headache. *chuckle* You do realize you are never going to see these videos right? Seeing me like this would send you into a comma and then you would come back to haunt me and my classmates. Anyways, I’ll call you and then I’m going to sleep. Love ya mom.” *recording ends*

“*walking back and forth in her room* You know how I said that Bakugou is a really fun person to tease? Well that was before he exposed me to the whole class.*laugh* In reality I’m not really mad, it was a nice comeback and if I’m being honest it was hilarious but it was still a shocker. We were going back and forth with that tik tok challenge where you expose your friend’s flaws. So I was standing there pointing out his superiority complex when he dropped the bomb…… ‘It’s the daddy issues for me’......THIS KID. THE AUDACITY. I thought my daddy issues were kept on the down low!!! I’ve done nothing to trigger this comment!! Sure I may or may not have told Mina that you raised me alone and about that counselor incident but that doesn’t mean I have daddy issues. *grumble* You need to have a dad to have daddy issues. Ughh God I hate him sometimes so very much. Thankfully the summer camp is tomorrow. I’ll get to wipe the floor with him in volleyball. I’m gonna draw those anger issues out…. I need some air. *three hours later* I’m back… yay. It’s weird to think about it you know. What you must have gone through when he passed. I know you don’t really like talking about him or anything before I came along but I would love to know what he was like. I’m not gonna ask you in real life of course, I would never do that to you. I know it hurts. I just wanted to say it out loud…*barely audible sniffle* … Well this got sentimental real quick. I think I should go to bed. I love you mom, goodnight.” *recording ends*
Friday, March 14th 20XX
“Of all the things that could’ve happened, this one was the last one on my list. Actually it wasn’t even on the freaking list, dammit! *sniffle* You know things like this don’t happen to everyone. I must be a really lucky person. Tell me one other person who gets to meet their dead parent in a high surveillance prison?? And above that I got an explanation why he was like this. Amazing right? God this is so stupid! I hate it. I hate this situation, I hate that I can’t tell you about it, I hate keeping you in the dark because at the end of the day I’m not the one who was in love with him. He may be my dad but I don’t have a connection with him! I never met him! He wasn’t there when I started walking or talking, he wasn’t the one who dropped me off on the first day of school, he didn’t teach me how to ride a bike, he-he * sob* I shouldn’t-shouldn’t be upset over this. Aizawa-sensei and Present Mic should be the ones sobbing on their floor. Not me. He doesn’t - I don’t- ugh - I don’t mean anything to him in the end. He died 15 years ago. That’s it. He was in love with you, he knew you, I was nowhere to be found. If he could reach out to us more than just a few words he wouldn’t know who the hell I was. *sobs* I have a picture of you two you know….It’s the one I had found when I was five. When you told me that that was my dad I felt like I could form a connection with the person in that photo. So I kept it, you never went through your old photo albums anyway and you never looked for the missing photo. And I kept it with me. I tore a small pocket in my backpack and put the photo there. I thought that having both of you with me at all times would bring me luck. I liked the fact that I looked like him. Now I realize how painful that must have been for you, seeing him in me everyday….and Aizawa-sensei, god, having me in his class must have been torture. He didn’t know that I was his friend’s daughter of course but I looked enough like him to bring back memories. God this sucks…. *deep breathes* I-I have practice so I gotta go. Love you.” *recording ends*

“Hi, it’s me again. I know that I’m recording almost a week after the previous one but… mom I have been assigned a mission and it’s major. It’ll be an attack at a hospital where we believe that experiments are being conducted. We got that information from um what do I call him? *shakes head* from a prisoner in Tartarus, the high surveillance prison I was at last week? Yeah that one. The mission will be really dangerous, that’s what we’ve been told and I can understand that. I mean we are attacking a major operation of AFO, of course it’ll be dangerous. Since we are students we are to stay away from the hospital and monitor the surrounding area but…. I asked Present Mic to go with them in the hospital. I can help keep things in place and I can move people in and out quicker than any of them, plus this is personal. I think Present Mic understands that. He said he’ll talk to Aizawa-sensei about it but regardless….. I’ll find who did that to him, I promise you that. I want to know if...if this was all some grand plan because what they did to him they did to dozens other people and as much as I hate them for taking my father away, I also hate them for what they’ve done to all those other families…… I’m recording this because I don’t know if I come back in one piece or if I come back at all. This is very dangerous and we don’t really know what to expect. What we are getting ourselves into. I wanted to say thank you. Thank you for giving me everything that I needed in life. Thank you for being the best mom anyone could ever have. You raised me by pushing your own sadness and grief to the side and doing the best job you could. So thank you for being my mom and I’m sorry for the pain I caused you. I love you mom, so very much. Bye, bye mommy.” *recording ends.*

Blinded e.d
warnings: smut, tiny like a tiny bit of angst, lots of fluff
summary: ethan dolan has always loved y/n, but y/n have always been blinded, that is until ethan gets a girlfriend...will she still be blinded?
Monday October 12th, 2009
“Ethan, pass the ball!” Matt shouts as he watched his friend stop for a few minutes staring into what seems like space. but no, what Ethan was staring at wasn't just space, it was, Y/n Y/l/n. a young curly haired girl that drifted out into nature, being on her own was something she thrived off, that's what 9 year old Ethan thought was ‘awesome’ a girl his age not acting so girly, thats what drew him towards her the most. “e, whatcha looking at?” Matt asked, going towards Ethan, so curious. “ughh, this stupid girl again?” Matt groaned, simply not knowing why Ethan always looked and talked about her. that’s what got Ethan to snap out of his staring and thoughts, “what did you just say?” Ethan's voice now stern. “what’s the big deal about her, she's a girl she probably has cooties!” Matt scrunched his face up at the thought of her having cooties, by now Y/n heard Matt yelling about her having cooties, and wasn’t taking that at all, but she waited to see what Ethan would say, she always thought of them as friends so why not? “she does not have cooties, shes...not those type of girls.” Ethan defended, Y/n very pleased at what he had to say and continued picking her sunflowers. “oh yeah, then prove it.” Matt battled, “well-.” he had to stop himself right there. you see ethan had no proof that she didn’t have cooties, he couldn’t say ‘because he touched her’, he would be lying, he was to nervous to even say hi. “well what?” Matt smirked knowing he was right. “hey, buddy, yeah I definitely don’t have cooties, but you wanna know what I do have, power to tell you, you can lick my butt.” Y/n chimed in, sick and tried of hearing him run his big mouth. “yeah she doesn’t have cooties, so yeah lick my butt as well.” Ethan said as he grabbed Y/n hand and squeezed it tightly. Matt huffed and threw up the middle finger, something his big brother thought him, and walked away. Y/n turned to Ethan and said “thank you, Ethan for taking up for me.” Y/n smiled “no-no problem” Ethan stuttered, trying his best to hide his nerves, “c’mon, I have some more flowers to pick, that I think you’ll like.” Y/n said as she ran towards the school’s garden, Ethan right behind her, following every step. thus leading towards Y/n and Ethan becoming inseparable.
July 2020
“bro, what if she doesn’t like me.” Ethan sighs, telling Grayson his deepest fear “bro, if she doesn’t just move on find a new girl, you’ll be fine.” Grayson says calmly as if the situation was just that easy. “gray, you don’t understand, i'm in love with her, since 4th grade i’ve been in love with her, it isn’t that easy to just move on.” Ethan confesses “then tell her.”... that has been circling around Ethan’s mind for so long ‘just tell her’, ‘why don’t you just tell her’ ‘bro, say something to her’, but he can’t over the fear of her simply not liking him back er- loving him back.
“y/n are you going to Tristan party Friday?” Ethan asked, this is the night he is gonna ask her out, he was so excited yet nervous. “of course, e, you know me better than anyone, you know i’m going.” of course Ethan knew she was going, he listened to her tell her ‘other’ friends, people that wasn’t Ethan. God, Y/n, why are you so in my head, you’re my friend. Ethan thought. but he couldn’t help it, he was gonna give her one more chance to notice so he made a plan.
perfect, now if everything goes as planned Ethan should lose his virginity to Y/n and Y/n should lose her’s to him, perfect. Ethan rethought this plan over and over in his head, fuck, imagine how tight she’ll be, how perfect she’ll taste, how perfect she’ll look when I'm fucking her in- “e!” Grayson interrupted his thoughts and plan to jerk off, “what.” Ethan groaned desperately trying to make this conversation go faster “I found a girl for you, and hopefully you can move on from Y/n.”...WHAT, no fuck you, I dont want another girl, I want Y/n nobody else. Ethan thought, but he didn’t wanna lash out on his brother and tell him, he’s a fucking idiot, in front of this sweet looking girl. so he pushed it aside. “uh hi-.” Ethan didn’t even get to finish his sentence because..“omg ethan, I love you so much, and I would be soooo happy if I was your girlfriend, and yeah fuck this bitch Y/n, I'm so much better, you’ll see, baby!” she screamed out, obviously just a raging fan instead of a lover of interest, but Ethan being the person he was, was not gonna be mean but when she said ‘fuck this bitch Y/n’ he lost it. “yo, watch what the fuck you say about her, there is no fucking way i’m gonna like you, if you dont fucking respect my best friend” Grayson gasped, not knowing his twin could lash out over...Y/n. maybe this was serious, maybe he wasn’t in love..he was obsessed? “whoa, Ethan you’re feisty, I love you even more.” she said, now latching on to him, seemingly loving this. “I don’t think I want you as my girlfriend or anything.” Ethan sighed “bro, think about it, you’ll have a new girl that you can get to love and you’ll be happy, just give her a week, and if you don’t get to like her, you can go back to Y/n.” Grayson said, trying to get him away from Y/n...but why, why was he trying so hard to keep him away from her? was he hiding something? was Y/n hiding something from Ethan, that Grayson know? why? “okay fine, but why are you trying to keep me away from Y/n?” Ethan asked, curiosity flowing through his mind “I don’t wanna see you hurt bro, what if, she doesn’t like you, I know you’ll be crushed, i’m protecting you.” well, shit, he does understand.
“Grayson, wheres e?” Y/n asked. “with his girlfriend, their suppose to be doing couple crafts or some.”... gone. girlfriend. couples crafts. wait what, girlfriend!? “he has girlfriend!?” she shouted “yeah, for about three days now.”...why didn’t he tell me, why did he hide it. she thought, then there's a blockage forming in her throat, was she about to cry, was she jealous, what is going on with her. she couldn’t take it so she just let it burst out, causing her tears, running down her face. “y/n what’s wrong, why are you crying.” Grayson holding on stopping her from falling to the ground. “ethan- sniffs- girl- cry’s friend.” full sobs stopping her form talking. “whoa, calm down, I thought you only saw Ethan as a bestfriend?” Grayson asked “well not until now.”...not until she realized how beautiful he was inside and out, how thoughtful he’ll be when she was feeling bad or when her birthday come or holidays. how gentle he’ll hold her, when she’s upset and telling her everything will be okay. oh how she loved him so, loved him so much more than just a friend, she wanted him to be her’s. “gray, I-I wanna be with him.” she croaked out, he took a deep breath, preparing himself for what he was about to say “y/n, look you can’t just say you want him when he has someone, when he have gave you so many chances, you just cant, all these years and you've only cared about you, how you were feeling then call Ethan to be your savior.” “I never noticed, I never thought once on how he felt.” oh, that sounds so bad “see, you fucking see, how you never once thought of his feelings, it’s like you’re so BLINDED on yourself you never think of anyone!” Grayson raising his voice, now fully angry at this. “no.” she sobbed “no, I do think of his feelings, I care about him and his feelings, I always have, I just never realized.”
“well yeah he does, okay, will did now he has Katy.” Grayson huffed
Katy? Katy Mc’Grain? “does she have long blonde hair?” she asked, pleading it's not her. “yes, and has a butterfly tattoo on her left shoulder, why?”
omg- it’s Katy Mc’Grain, Y/n ex friend from a year ago that sworn to hurt the thing that meant most to her. now what caused this is simply because Y/n forced her to go to rehab, addiction she struggled with Y/n thought she helped, that is until, the workers that took Katy in, call Y/n on the 3rd day at 4am that Katy had escaped and left a note for Y/n saying ‘you will not forget me, I will take out what means the most to you, just like you did to me’...and that's Ethan, and they went to a ‘couples craft’ holy shit, they gotta save e
“gray, shit, we gotta go!” Y/n yelled “what, why?”
“i’ll explain on the way there, let’s jus-.” she got cut off my the front door opening, it was Ethan, “Gray she wasn’t the one.” Ethan sighed “bro, I honestly think its Y/n, like no matter- Y/n?” He eyes widened, and as always his heartbeat started beating rapidly. “ethan, I love so much, even more than just a friend.” was this a joke? is she lying? “what?” is all Ethan can crack out “ethan i’ve realized that you are the one, it’s you, it's you that is always there, always helping me, and i’ve been so blinded and-.” he kissed her, something he’s been wanting to do since forever but never thought he would get too. as they pulled away it was just like breath had been token away, no one could speak, they just stared into each other eyes, goofy looking smiles on each other faces. this is the moment Ethan knew he wanted to make love to her, he looked at Grayson giving him, that, look. “well, i’ll leave you guys to it.” Grayson laughed, having a good feeling about this and leaving the house.
“baby, let me make love to you.” Ethan whispered in her ear, Y/n withering under him, in nothing but underwear. Ethan started kissing her next softly, waiting on a answer. Y/n nodded profusely, wanting the aching in her legs to end. “gonna need words, princess.” Ethan chuckled at her eagerness. “yes, yes, Ethan please, need something.”
“as you wish, my love.”
Ethan kissed down her body slowly and softly, being a huge tease. once he finally reached the top of her laced panties, he kissed the top of the little bow and pulled them down her legs, “mm, so wet for me baby, I haven’t even done anything?” his ego getting huge, once they were off he started kissing her clit, going lower, lower, and lower. “"that's something for another time, I wanna feel you.” he stated
“i’ll go slow, okay.” she nodded watching as he pulled his huge rock hard cock, out his boxers, Ethan noticed her eyes widened, and chuckled “don’t worry baby, I’ll go slow, I promise.” He was half in, Y/n eyes closed shut as he kissed along her neck, whispering small little nothing’s.
he’s all the way now, still kissing her neck, trying to easy the pain “move please.” he heard softly, looking up at her, eyes wide. “you sure?” he asked “fuck, yes.” she moaned and that's what drove him to go, as his hips moved faster, her moans grew more and became louder.
for Ethan, jacking off was nothing compared to the tightness of her pussy, his fist could never be as tight, as wet, as perfect than her pussy. for Y/n her fingers, dildo or vibrator could come as close to Ethan’s dick, how big and thick he was, how good he could instantly find her g-spot, penetrated her so good.
“fuck, Ethan i'm gonna cum!” she shouted “right behind you, baby.”
“so, are we gonna go to Tristan’s party as an official couple?” Ethan asked, she giggled and nodded, snuggling closer to her boyfriend. “wait, so that means we’re dating now?”, “go to bed Ethan.”

Happy Birthday @rudzik-art!
As many of you know, Robin (@rudzik-art) is turning 20 today. As a surprise gift for them, I took an AU we talked about and turned it into a fic! (So, today is not only a celebration of Robin’s birthday, it’s officially my return from fic hiatus.)
But that’s not enough to mark an occasion as important as a 20th birthday, so I got some of our favorite artists involved as well! Read it on AO3 to see it with the art.
Fic Summary: Juno Steel, pirate of the ship Carte Blanche, did not expect to net a mermaid today.
I give you: Juno Steel and the Brine of Deception
I.
The day seemed ordinary when Juno woke up. He lay in his hammock, watching the square of light on the floor waver as the Carte Blanche rocked in the waves. Or maybe just because he was still really hungover. The crew had stayed up late making toasts and singing shanties last night, and that had involved quite a lot of rum.
“Ughh.” Juno sat up and began to unwrap his hair.
"Mornin', Mate Steel!" His roommatey, the exceptionally clever Rita, beamed at him from her hammock. "How are ya feeling?"
"Sick," Juno grumbled. He climbed out of his hammock and padded over to the washstand. "I've got to get off this rum."
"Yeah, Mate Steel, I told ya that swill Ms. Vespa brewed ain't good for ya."
"I know." He glanced at her in their broken mirror as he lit a candle, which hung from the ceiling in a glass bottle. "Did Buddy say if we're docking today?"
"Nah, she said last night that we’re just doin’ chores again." Rita watched Juno adjust his eyepatch in the mirror and rocked forward in her hammock. "Why? Did you wanna go ashore?"
"Eh, not especially." Juno tied his eyepatch on and started towards the door. "It's not like I mind being on this stinking ship where my legs feel like jelly and…." He sighed. "You know what, Rita, let's talk about this later. I've got a busy day to start on."
“See ya, Mate Steel.”
Juno stepped out into the hallway of the ship. He stuck his head into the galley to grab an orange from a bowl on the counter and plucked away the curling peel with his rough, uneven nails as he creaked into the hall. Down the hardwood floors and the few puddles from leaks, he bounded towards the staircase that led from the ship's quarters to the main dock.
“Captain’s waiting for you,” snarled Vespa as soon as Juno’s head appeared above decks.
“Morning to you too, Vespa.”
Vespa frowned and went back to twisting a knife around in her teeth. A briny sea breeze rustled the bandana tied around her forehead. “Good morning,” she muttered, like it was a concession. Then abruptly she crossed her tattooed arms and cleared her throat. “Now get a move on. The captain doesn’t like to be kept waiting.”
“Duly noted.” Juno ducked past the first mate’s glare and strode down the deck. He tossed his orange peel overboard, but a breeze caught it, and spun it back onto the deck, where it was pinned abruptly under a heeled leather boot.
Captain Aurinko’s dark eye studied Juno from under her hat. In her broad-shouldered coat, criss-crossed with belts that dangled swords and pistols, she was intimidating with a streak of devilish intrigue, and she smirked as she lifted the orange peel from the deck. “You ought to clean up your trash, Juno.”
“Captain A.” Juno rubbed the back of his neck and sheepishly plucked the peel back from the captain. “Sorry about that.”
“Not to worry, darling. Shall we sit down?” Captain Aurinko neatly unfolded a scroll from her belt and spread it over one of the barrels nearby. She and Juno perched on surrounding barrels. “Our schedule is fairly lowkey today.” Her leather-gloved fingers traced Juno’s name, written in ink on a list. “I want you to check the nets and get some fishing done. Don’t complain,” she added, as Juno rolled his eye. “You’re the best at it, darling. After that, go over the stores with Jet, and then I’m sure Rita would appreciate it if you tied up your shared room a bit.”
“Seems like a slow day,” Juno observed. “What happened to ‘high adventure’ and all that?”
“That’s taking a back seat at the moment.” Captain Aurinko pursed her lips. “To be honest, darling, I worry that our current crew isn’t… properly equipped to handle missions of the capacity I have planned.” She rolled the map shut. “But that’s no concern of yours. On your way, darling. Come find me if you need anything.” The captain stood, dusted off her coat, and glided away to take her place at the ship’s wheel.
This job is somehow way more than I expected and not what I expected at all. Juno sloshed through the inch of water in the cargo hold. The nets lay all tangled together, and it took a few long minutes of blistering his fingers on their ropes to untangle them. Hell, I probably should have just stayed on the Mars continent.
And yet the Mars continent had never been home to him, not really. Not since the constables and the law had seen to condemn him over a few childhood tavern brawls and turn him into a wanted lady. As a child, Juno had always promised his brother (may his soul rest in peace) that he’d leave and be an explorer one day. That just ended up looking different than he imagined.
Still, Juno reflected as he dragged a net up the stairs. It felt like something was missing from his life. Some final adventure he needed to conquer, or maybe some event that would set a grand adventure in order. Right now he just existed, drinking rum in the mornings and evenings and sloshing about on the sea with all the rats and the treasures and people he didn’t know if he could trust. Rita aside, of course.
The net rigged into the pulleys, Juno cast it over into the ocean. Within a few seconds, it vanished beneath the rolling blue waves. Juno rested his arms on the railing and sighed. What he needed, once he finished his tasks today, was a good long nap, and maybe a cup of coffee instead of rum, assuming they still had coffee in the stores. Then he should mend the patch in his work breeches, and afterwards -
The weight in the net shifted abruptly. Juno frowned and stood up from his slouch. Sure enough, when he tested the rope, there was an uncommon weight to it that hadn’t been there a moment ago. A large school of fish? A small whale? Maybe an octopus. They’d caught an octopus last week, and Captain Aurinko still wrote with the ink they’d extracted from it. Whale oil could be useful too, plus good for trade too. Juno eagerly tightened the opening of the net and began to pull it up. It was heavy, but Juno was a strong lady. He ground his feet firmly to the deck and pulled again, harder, heave-to heave-to against the struggling of his catch. Finally, a splash confirmed that the net had risen above the surface of the water. With a few more final pulls, Juno hefted the net alongside the ship. He quickly tied the rope around a wooden post nearby, to secure it taut, and ran over to see what he’d netted; and there, lying in a tangle of rope of seaweed, was the most supremely beautiful man Juno had ever seen.
No, not a man, or at least, not a human one. Because, Juno realized upon closer inspection, humans didn’t have a silver-blue tail where legs should be, or gently pulsing slits along their throats, or webbed ears, and they certainly didn’t have nails as long and sharp as knives. The mermaid turned his head. His ink-black hair sat plastered to his face with dripping seawater, and when he opened his eyes, Juno saw that they were the same ink color all the way through. Blue scales glimmered along his cheekbones. His face and body sparkled with droplets of seawater, like small diamonds, and here and there wet strands of seaweed clung to his bare chest and arms. He was utterly terrifying, and yet, Juno had never seen anything so exquisite.
“Well?” hissed the mermaid.
Juno blinked. “Well, what?”
“Oh, honestly.” It was hard to tell with no irises, but Juno thought the mermaid might be rolling his eyes. “You pulled me out, you quite clearly wanted me for something. I suppose you’re one of those humans that eats mermaids, aren’t you?”
“Huh? What the hell, of course not.”
“Hmmm.” The mermaid plucked a lock of seaweed from his neck and flicked it back into the sea. “Now you’ll say you’ve grabbed me by accident.”
“Obviously.”
“Obviously.” He imitated Juno’s tone and smirked, slightly. His teeth were just as sharp as his nails. “You’ve never seen a mer before, have you?”
“‘Course I have,” Juno scoffed, suddenly on the defensive. “In… storybooks and stuff.” The mermaid lifted his eyebrows. “Listen, I’m new to this whole pirate thing, okay? I just wanted to grab some fish for my crew’s larder. You weren’t exactly part of the plan.”
“Ah.” The mermaid shuffled forwards and wrapped his hands around the ropes above his head. “So you’re not going to eat me.”
“I’ll chuck you back in, if you want.”
The mermaid giggled. He leaned forward and reached one of his hands through the net to grab Juno’s chin. Juno jolted and, with instinct, brought up his knife and pressed it to the mer’s sternum. “So defensive,” the mermaid purred. His thumb swiped over Juno’s jawline. “You have a shaving nick right there.” The very tip of his nail pressed into Juno’s skin for a minute, and then he retreated. “Well,” he said. “I’m afraid you can’t chuck me back in, love. You see, in your eagerness to haul me up onto this rowboat of yours, you tightened your net quite fiercely. Now my poor tail is injured. I can’t possibly swim.”
“What?”
“So you may as well cut me down. It looks like you’ll be stuck with me for a while.”
Juno narrowed his eyes. “How do I know you’re not lying?”
“Oh yes, because I would lie so I could spend several days hanging around with a crew of pirates? You’re not that cute, love.” He reached out his hand again. “But, if you’re so determined, I’ll tell you my name. You may call me Glass.”
“Glass. Hi, I’m Juno Steel.” Juno sighed heavily. The Captain’s gonna love this. He pulled the net over the railing and lowered it carefully to the deck. Glass smiled up at him as Juno freed him. Juno stepped back and rubbed his forehead. “Great,” he sighed. “What the hell am I supposed to do with you now?”
“That depends, how adventurous are you?”
“God damn it.” Juno tossed the net aside. “It’s too early in the morning for me to have a mermaid hitting on me. You just - stay there while I go get the Captain.”
“I don’t have much of a choice,” Glass called after him, but Juno pretended not to hear.
II.
“So,” said Buddy delicately. “This is quite a predicament.”
“I’ll say,” Vespa snarled, smacking her fist into her palm. “We have a crowded crew already, and then Steel goes and lands us with an injured fish to take care of.”
“Hey, don’t drag me into this.” Juno raised his hands innocently as Vespa shot a glare in his direction. “Listen, I’m not the one responsible for this. It was this guy who swam right into my net.”
“Oh sure, the fish is to blame for your stupidity.”
“The fish can hear you,” Glass trilled.
The crew stood in their spare hold, positioned awkwardly around a basin of seawater. Glass lay primping in the water, finger-curling his hair and watching the five pirates from under his long lashes. Juno couldn’t help but notice that the mermaid’s gaze seemed mostly to be fixed on him. Rita, who watched countless plays about mermaids, hung star-struck at Juno’s elbow, clutching her face in her hands.
“Ain’t he so preeeeeetty, Mate Steel?” she whispered into Juno’s ear as the captain and the first mate deliberated amongst themselves. “He’s just like one of them old paintings, or like, like something right out of a play, ya know? He’s kinda scary too, though, but in a really nifty way, don’tcha think! It just - just -” She scrunched her forehead as if searching for the words.
Frannie, the parrot perched on Rita’s shoulder, squawked, “Shiver me timbers!”
“Yeah, exactly!” Rita beamed. “It shivers me timbers! Shivers ‘em real good, don’t you think he’s pretty, Mate Steel?”
Glass lolled in his basin, running his sharp nails over the fine webbing at the end of his tail. He winked at Juno. Somehow, the lady got the sense that Glass could hear everything Rita was saying; but more than that, it was as if he could hear everything Juno was thinking. Like those solid black eyes could see things normal eyes couldn’t.
“He’s something, alright,” Juno murmured.
“What I do not understand is how he came to be injured.” The quartermaster, Jet, stood by Rita’s other side with his arms crossed. Jet always wore the same thing - baggy brown breeches, a ragged white shirt, and a brown jacket so enormous that it could probably serve as a backup sail if the Carte Blanche ever needed one. He wore his long silver hair tied up in a ponytail. Despite their difference in personality, pirating ability, and three feet of height, Jet and Rita were close friends, second only to Rita’s bond with Juno. “I do not believe our simple fishing net would be strong enough to damage a mermaid’s tail.”
“Well, you’d have to ask him about it.”
“There is no need to be defensive, Juno.”
“Whatever, you’re all on my case, and I’m getting pretty tired of it, big guy.”
Across the room, Vespa and Buddy drew away from each other and turned to face the rest of the group. “Alright, darlings,” said the captain. “We’ve thought this over -”
“More like we’ve argued it,” Vespa muttered.
“Peace, love.” The captain laid her hand on Vespa’s arm. “After some deliberation, Vespa and I have decided that we cannot abandon the mermaid back to the sea with an injury. We may be pirates, but we are not monsters. He will stay here until he recovers from his injuries.”
Glass giggled and slid his tail back into the water. “So generous of you.”
“You’re welcome, darling.” Captain Aurinko smoothed back a stray lock of her hair. “Additionally, since Juno was the one that injured him, Juno can be the one to attend to him.”
“What.”
“You heard me, dear. You’ll bring him his food, refill the water in his basin, and see to any medical needs he may have before he’s recovered. Any questions?”
“Yeah, yeah, I’ve got a question, how come I’ve got to -”
“Then if there are no questions, the meeting is dismissed.” Buddy smiled and took Vespa’s
arm. “We’ll see you all later. First we have some things to... attend to.” Vespa shot one last glare in the others’ direction before following the captain away to their cabin.
“Well,” said Jet. “If that is all, I will return to my repairs of the Ruby 7 lifeboat.”
“Hang on, you can’t all just -”
“I’ll go with ya!” Rita said, ignoring Juno’s protests. “Bye-bye, Mate Steel and Mistah Mermaid!” And she skipped after Jet, Frannie flapping behind them both.
Juno sighed heavily and turned back to Glass. The mermaid had his arms folded on the rim of the basin, and his head cocked at an inquisitive and seductive angle. He smiled. “Well,” he said. “It seems that it’s just you and me.”
“Don’t get too used to it, I’ve got lots of chores to do.”
“Oh, but the Captain said you needed to look after me,” Glass beamed. “Doesn’t that mean I’m at the top of your chores list?”
Juno glared down at the mermaid. “Fine. Tell me what you want and make it quick.”
“Oh, it’s quite simple. I just want someone to talk to.”
The pirate blinked. “Are you kidding? You want me to hang around here and talk to you?”
For a moment, the mermaid’s flirtatious smile vanished. His inky eyes narrowed, and he glanced away from Juno before speaking again. “I’m not trying to force you if you don’t wish, Juno, I simply… hoped to get to know you better.” He glanced back at Juno quickly, and Juno started.
He’s not… no. He can’t be. Not me.
So he shrugged and grabbed a nearby stool. “Sure,” he said. “Great.” He leaned back against the wall and crossed his arms. “What do you want to talk about?”
“I’d like to hear more about you, of course.” Glass lifted his eyebrows. “Juno Steel. Juno. A goddess on the high seas. Although - pardon me - you don’t seem entirely suited to this profession.”
“Yeah.” Juno fiddled with a spare thread on his blouse. “Didn’t plan to be a pirate, originally. I wanted to go into law, but then I found myself on the other side of it. With my brother.” He rubbed the back of his neck. “We’d always planned to leave the Mars continent together, but then...” The pirate sighed deeply. “He… he’s not around anymore.”
Glass watched Juno quietly. “I’m sorry.”
“Yeah. Thanks.” Juno cleared his throat. “Anyway, Rita and I have been friends for decades. Business partners. She’s a locksmith, and I’m an informant, so sometimes we worked together.”
“I see.” Glass leaned forward on his elbows, and his smile sharpened a degree. “Not such an upright lady, are you?”
“Hey, careful. I still have my morals.” Juno crossed his arms behind his head and leaned back. “Anyway, she did a job for Captain Aurinko and put two and two together that she’d been hired by a pirate. Suggested that I could give the Captain any information she needed, and together Rita and I got her out of a tricky spot. So, the Cap offered us spots on her crew.”
To Juno’s surprise, as he narrated to the mermaid, he found himself enjoying the conversation. Glass was a good listener, and seemed interested in Juno’s life in a way that few people had been for a long time. Every lady needed to feel special every now and then, and Juno was no exception.
“So,” he said eventually. “Mermaid. What’s your life story?”
The mermaid still smiled, but something about his demeanor had changed. “Oh, Juno,” he said. “I don’t have a story, and even if I didn’t, I wouldn’t tell it to anyone.”
“Huh.”
Glass sighed and leaned back in the water, lounging with his arms on either side of the basin. “I’ll leave you be,” he said theatrically. “Thank you for keeping me company.”
“Yeah.” Juno got up, feeling strangely regretful. “No problem.”
Juno finished up his chores and took a nap to sleep off what remained of his hangover. Afterwards, it was time for dinner, and for the first time since joining the crew, he didn’t eat with everyone else. Instead, he brought two plates to Glass’s room and they ate together, chatting about things they’d seen on the sea.
“I swear, it looked like an underwater city. Whole thing, made of coral.”
“Oh, I’ve been there. It’s not a very long swim from here.”
“Really?”
“Mmm. Pretty place.”
And Juno kept thinking about the mermaid that night, as he lay in his hammock. The ship’s rocking and Rita’s snoring usually lulled him to sleep, but tonight felt different. Every time he tried to doze off, he was struck by the thought that Glass lay just down the hall, with his dark eyes and his sharp smile. Maybe the mermaid was lonely. Maybe he was having trouble sleeping, too, and would want company.
Finally Juno’s curiousity overpowered him, and he got out of bed. Rita and Frannie were both deep asleep, but he put on his slippers to be extra quiet, then lit a candle. He was about to slip out the door when he heard a loud thud. But not from the direction of Glass’s room. It sounded like it came from the ship’s treasury.
What the hell?
He snatched his pistol and slipped out of the door. Juno crept along the hall, keeping close to the wall with his candle outstretched before him and his pistol at his side. He moved along the right-hand side, so that nothing could creep into his blind spot, but still the creaking of the ship and the uneven sway of it unnerved him. Again, the clinking noise sounded from the treasury. He could see the doorway. Juno took a deep breath, counted to five, and whipped around the corner.
Glass looked up from the chest he was elbow-deep reaching into and frowned. “Ah,” he said. “Well, hello.”
It was Glass, but… human. As far as Juno could tell. He had legs, normal ears; his eyes were regular eyes, with gorgeous dark brown irises. He wore a short white dress belted with a corset, as well as a knife strapped to one of his distractingly gorgeous thighs.
The pistol trembled in Juno’s hands. “What,” he breathed, “the hell.”
“Careful, now, there’s no need to wave that thing around.” Glass raised his hands, both of which clutched long ropes of pearls. His teeth were less prominent, but still looked thrillingly sharp. “I can explain everything.”
“Yeah?” Juno stepped closer and pointed his gun at the mer’s - the human’s - heart. “Start talking.”
“I understand this is confusing, Juno. In some ways, I’m glad you’re the one who caught me. It means we get to have a secret.” Glass stepped closer to the pirate. “Just for the two of us.”
“You were a mer,” Juno sputtered. “You were injured.”
“Looks can be deceiving.” Glass covered the quivering barrel of Juno’s pistol and pointed it away from himself. “Juno, listen to me. Whatever you think I am, you’re wrong. But I can tell you. I will tell you. I’ll tell you everything, if you want to know, but you must promise me you won’t alert your captain.”
“Why not?” Juno snapped. “You’re robbing us. You lied your way onto our ship and - and just so you could get our shit while we slept?”
“Well, it’s not really yours, now is it?” He was so close now. Juno could feel Glass’s warm breath on his cheek, followed a few seconds later by his knuckles. A shiver ran through him involuntarily. Glass chuckled. “I trust you, Juno, and I can’t have you giving me away now. Please.” He leaned down and whispered in Juno's ear, “I’ll give you whatever you want.”
The words drifted into the pirate’s mind and melted over his senses like slow honey. He shivered in the brine-aired night, and in the warmth radiating from Glass’s presence. It was a sensation so strong, so all-encompassing, that for a second Juno didn’t even notice that warmth had retreated. He snapped to his senses just in time to watch Glass disappear out the door.
“Hey - HEY!” he shouted. “Get back here!” Juno sprinted after Glass as the long-limbed thief bounded up the stairs towards the deck, and into the open air. The deck’s rocking motions were more obvious here, swaying Juno back and forth on his own feet as he fired a warning shot into the night air. “Glass, you bastard -! get back here!”
Glass paid him no heed. Dripping pearls and laughing, he crossed the deck in a burst of speed. Juno stumbled after him. He can’t get away, the pirate thought, he has nowhere to go - and as soon as the thought entered his mind, Glass leapt over the edge of the railing and out into the open night.
“NO!” Juno shouted. His momentum carried him the rest of the way, and he ran right into the banister, wrapping his arms around it. Below, he saw a flash of silver scales as Glass disappeared beneath the rolling waves. Juno stared, dumbfounded. He had no time to process, or to call for the captain, before suddenly the ship lurched again beneath his feet and sent him tumbling headfirst into the waves.
III.
The water crashed into him. Juno gasped as the cold ensnared him, but the gasp let in a rush of frigid water into his lungs, making him sputter. His arms struggled weakly. His fists clutched handfuls of seawater as the weight of his clothes and the tossing of the waves dragged him under. For a singular moment his head parted the surface of the waves, but before he could even taste oxygen, the water closed over him again. Juno couldn’t breathe. His lungs burned. All he could feel was that burning and the numbing coldness. And then, suddenly, he felt something wrap around his waist.
Juno looked down and gave a garbled yelp of surprise. Glass was at his side, holding him close. He wore the strings of pearls around his neck, and he wrapped one of them gently around Juno, holding them together in the tumult of the water. Juno fell still. Black dots swam before his vision, and the cold seemed to sting his bones, but the mer’s arms were warm, and Juno instinctively drew closer to him.
“Juno?” Glass murmured. His voice sounded distant. “Juno, stay awake. I can help you breathe, but you have to stay awake -” His hands clutched Juno’s shoulders, but the detective could barely feel them. Glass’s face moved closer to his. “No, stay awake - I can only help you if I breathe for you, and I can’t do that if you’re not awake to say so - no no no, keep your eyes open for me! Please, Juno -” His grip tightened in almost frenzy. The black dots blurred the edges of Juno’s vision. His entire body felt made up of this pain intensifying in his lungs. “Juno, I can save you, just give me a yes, please don’t black out, please don’t -”
Juno could barely feel, but with what little strength he had left he tried to nod. His forehead tipped against the mer’s shoulder. Glass drew back and cradled Juno’s face in his hands, and then, strongly, he pressed his warm lips onto Juno’s mouth. Oxygen entered his body slowly, like warmth dripping slowly down his throat. Juno felt something like life beating in his chest, and he almost tasted sea salt, but before he could reflect on anything he was feeling, the black dots swelled to cover his vision, and everything faded away.
When Juno came to, he found himself lying on a cool stone. The world above him slowly came into vision: a cool, dark cave, striped with damp vines that dangled from the ceiling. He felt cold water lapping at his ankles, and heard soft singing in the air in a haunting language he didn’t recognize. Weakly, he lifted his heavy head and looked around to get his bearings. Through the mouth of the cave, Juno could see the sun rising on the horizon, and the golden glow bled into the cave as if it were paint spilled across the water’s surface. Glass lounged on another rock, drawing ripples in the water with his fingertips, still in his mer form and glistening with pearls. After a few seconds all of Juno’s senses fell into place, and he realized the mermaid was the source of the music.
“Glass?” he called weakly.
Glass stopped singing and looked over. His shining face lit into a smile. “You’re awake.” He rolled off of the rock and vanished with a faint splash into the water, and then a moment later emerged dripping wet by Juno’s side. The hand shifted and a moment later Glass’s face appeared above him.
“Juno,” he sighed. “Here, let me help you sit up. How are you feeling?”
“Unghh.” Juno rubbed his head as the mer helped him into a sitting position. “What the hell happened?”
“You blacked out.” Glass shifted back a few inches to give Juno breathing room. “Are you feeling alright now?”
“Yeah, I think so.” Juno sat up higher on the rock. Glass leaned on the side, with his arms folded and his head tipped to one side. His scales shimmered. “You saved my life,” Juno said. “Didn’t you?”
“Well, I wasn’t going to let you die, Juno.”
“You kissed me.”
Glass stirred his fingertips through the foam brushing up against the rock.
“You kissed me. You stole from my crew, and then you saved my life. Why the hell would you do that?” The water lapped quietly at the edges of the cave.
The air misted before Glass’s lips while he breathed, and his gills pulsed. A drop of water slid down the slope of his forehead.. “I had a very straightforward plan,” he murmured eventually. “I’d been tracking your ship for a while now, you see. I saw that big fellow rowing above me one morning, so I swam to the surface to see what was going on. When I noticed that chest he was loading onto your ship, I decided to track you all. I knew you must have some kind of treasure, and I wanted it. I hid under your prow, or swam near you. Then one morning, a net dropped, so I seized my chance and swam into it, and then….” He turned his head and fixed his black eyes on Juno. “Well, then you messed up my whole plan.”
Juno started to speak, but Glass talked right over him.
“You, all fascinating and charming, with your fed-up attitude and your adorable pout.” He smiled. “I don’t meet people very often. I’m usually on the move, either on land or in the water, and I never have time to… to chat with someone I find attractive. And then,” he chuckled, “I decided to forget you and go through with my plan anyway - and you came to stop me! Leaving me to save you, in the end.” He shrugged delicately. “What can I say, darling? You are beautiful. I want to know everything about you.”
Glass closed his eyes and rested his head on his folded arms. Juno watched him, with his heart drum beating in his chest. Around them the water was turning golden. Juno watched him, and thought, He thinks I’m beautiful.
“What are you, exactly?”
The mermaid lifted his head. “Hmm?”
“I mean, you’re a mermaid, right? But then when I saw you in the night, you had legs, your eyes were normal -”
“Ah. Weren’t you listening?” Glass smirked. “Shapeshifter, love. I can be a mer or a human as it suits me, but I’m never just one for very long.”
“Huh.” Juno thought about that for a moment. He could feel his pulse in his throat. “And you’re a thief, apparently.”
“You can have your pearls back if it bothers you that badly.”
“Honestly?” Juno took Glass’s hand in his. “Right now I kind of just want to pay you back for saving me.”
Glass looked up. He met Juno’s eyes and let the pirate draw him up onto the rock, and as the golden light spilled far enough across the water to light them up, they kissed.
It was like oxygen-giving, but better. Glass’s lips were soft and sweet, and he tasted like the ocean. Juno felt the sunlight falling across their shoulders, and both of Glass’s hands twisted gently in the front of Juno’s shirt. He dragged him closer and their kiss grew deeper, with Glass’s tongue slipping into Juno’s open mouth, and Juno wrapped his legs around the mer’s waist. They didn’t break apart until it was physically hard to breathe, and even then, only far enough for the mermaid to press his forehead to the pirate’s.
“Glass isn’t my real name,” he said, breathless.
“Yeah, no shit,” Juno gasped. “Christ, you’re a good kisser. Okay. What is your real name?”
“It’s in Mer. You won’t be able to pronounce it.”
“Oh yeah? Try me.”
“Nąuhréyęvhve.”
“What the fuck kind of name is that.”
The mermaid with the unpronounceable name laughed and dropped a quick kiss onto Juno’s cheek. “It means dancer.”
“Yeah, I still can’t pronounce it. I’m just gonna say Nureyev.”
“Nureyev.” The mermaid tried it, head tipped to the side. “Nureyev” He turned to face Juno again and smiled. “Hmm. That does have a nice ring to it.”
And they kissed again while the sunlight grew around them.
IV.
Captain Aurinko liked to think of herself as a level-headed person, but right now, Juno Steel had her worried. “It’s no big deal,” Vespa had told her. “He vanishes at the same time as the mermaid, so what? The mermaid guy probably talked his ear off, and Steel just got annoyed and chucked him overboard.”
“Then where is Juno?”
“It is possible we overlooked some part of the ship when we checked,” Jet suggested.
Vespa smirked. “Or he’s screwing the mermaid somewhere.”
“How would that -” Rita had begun, but Buddy decided that Rita should go check the stores, and Vespa should go check the crow’s nest, before they could have that conversation.
Now, she stood on the deck by the ship’s wheel and watched the horizon through her telescope. All she saw were the unchanging waves. Buddy sighed and lowered the telescope from her eye. “Come on, Juno,” she murmured. “This crew won’t work without you.”
Behind her, the deck creaked under footsteps. “We checked the crow’s nest,” said Vespa. “Didn’t see anything.”
“Us, either,” called Rita as she and Jet emerged from the lower stairs. “Mate Steel just ain’t here at all.”
“Rraw! Mate Steel ain’t here!” squaked Frannie.
Jet furrowed his brows. “I think,” he began heavily, “that perhaps we must consider -”
“No,” said Buddy. “We’re not giving up yet.”
“Buddy.” Vespa laid a hand on her arm. “Listen, we don’t know what this mer guy might have done, okay? We should start makin’ the assumption - Rita? Are you okay?”
Rita had begun to cry, holding the end of Buddy’s long coat and using it to dab her eyes. “I-I’m sorry, matey,” she sniffled. “It’s just, I’m rememberin’ that in plays mermaids eat people sometimes, and I don’t want Mate Steel to get e-eaten, ya know? An’ that mer-guy had such really sharp teeth an’ I don’t wan Mate Steel to di-i-i-ieeeee.” She sobbed loudly and blew her nose on Buddy’s lace trim.
At that moment, a loud splash sounded from the ocean. The four turned around in time to watch the Juno and the mermaid course up on a jet of seawater and collapse onto the deck, where they lay sputtering in a puddle. Juno’s clothes clung to him, soaking wet, and the mer wore a tattered white dress. “Hey, guys,” Juno coughed.
“What the hell?!” exclaimed Vespa.
“MATE STEEL!” Rita ran across the deck and threw her arms around Juno’s shoulders. “You’re alive! Oh, Mate Steel, we was so WORRIED, I thought somethin’ terrible’d happened to ya, where’ve you BEEN Mate Steel? Did he kidnap ya? Did he hurtcha?” She glared at the mermaid and fumbled for her little dagger. “I swear, if you hurt one curl on my Mate Steel’s head, I’m gonna -”
“I’m fine, Rita.” Juno sat up and helped the mermaid to his feet. Buddy blinked, sure she was seeing something wrong - perhaps the rum had gone to her head. The mermaid had legs now. “Guys,” said Juno. “Nureyev’s here to return some stuff he took.”
“Oh.” The mermaid laughed nervously. “I thought I was just dropping you off.”
“Nureyev.”
“Fine, fine.” He reached into his pockets and pulled out all the strings of pearls that should have been in the Carte Blanche’s treasure stores. Buddy raised an eyebrow as the mer-turned-human - Nureyev - held them out to her. She took them from his hands and eyed him.
“I was under the impression that mer usually only have tails,” she said lightly.
“I’m a shapeshifter.”
Vespa and Jet said, “a what?”
“A SHAPESHIFTER?!” Rita exclaimed. “Wow!!! That’s so COOL, Mistah Nureyev! Like, like in that really great play that came out last month, Squares and Triangles and Also Sirens? Wow, that play is so GOOD! Can you turn into anythin’ you want, or just a mer and a human?”
“More importantly,” said Buddy, “how long were you planning to use your abilities to rob us?”
Rita fell silent. Nureyev smirked. “Quite a while,” he admitted. “Juno simply… altered my initial plan when he spotted me last night.”
“Ah. So that’s where you’ve been.” Buddy smiled as Juno blushed and ducked his head. “Well, it seems there’s simply one way to resolve this whole mix-up.”
“Yeah!” Vespa drew her scimitar and pointed it at Nureyev. “I say we tie him up and make him walk the plank!”
“Rraw! Walk the plank!” agreed Frannie.
“That is impractical,” said Jet. “If he walks the plank, he will simply transform underwater and swim away. I propose that we throw him in the brig until we reach port. We can decide from there.”
“Hey, c’mon, none of this is making sense,” snapped Juno. “He gave all the pearls back.”
“You’ve certainly had a change of attitude.”
“Yeah, well you could use one, Vespa, and here’s another thing -”
“Enough, darlings!” Buddy held up her hands. “That’s enough. I have an alternative proposition.” She marched across the deck and stopped before Nureyev. “You possess interesting skills, Nureyev. Skills that I think our team would find very useful. And, since I’m sure Juno will vouch for your character, judging from the fact that he’s wearing your lipstick -”
“Hey-”
“- you have an in.” She held out her hand. “If you want it, darling, there’s a place for you here aboard the Carte Blanche.”
Nureyev glanced over at Juno, who stood watching him with hopeful eyes. A smile grew across his face. “Well,” he said. “I must say, it’s nice to finally be appreciated.” And he shook Buddy’s hand.
~~~~
“...aaaand that’s my idea for a stream about us!” Rita set down her stack of papers and beamed around at the rest of the crew. “Whaddaya think? It’s good, ain’t it?”
“It is exceptional,” said Jet in a grave tone. “I am moved to tears.”
“I dunno, I think it’s a little unrealistic in a few parts.” Juno gestured to the portion marked as chapter five. “I don’t really see why I’d let a mermaid kiss me while I’m drowning.”
“You totally would, Mistah Steel!” Rita clutched her story defensively. “You’re just horny for death!”
“I’m what?”
“In my case,” said Nureyev, over the laughter of the rest of the crew, “I don’t see why I’ve been characterized as a mermaid.”
“Every pirate stream has to have a mermaid, Mistah Nureyev? Ain’t you ever seen High Seas of Saturn? The Ghost Ship that Also Has Zombies? Pirates of the Carribean 207: Oh My
God When Will This Franchise End?”
“Hmm. Doesn’t ring a bell, I’m afraid.” Nureyev shifted Juno’s position on his lap and rubbed the lady’s thigh. “My introduction scene was on point, though. After all, Juno does love me in fishnets.”
“Shut up,” Juno mumbled, blushing. Nureyev chuckled and kissed his neck.
Buddy took another sip of her tea. “You’ve created quite an interesting story, darling. I’m glad it’s kept you entertained. I know our long periods between heists can get tedious, but I’d say this has been fun for all of us.”
“Oh yeah, this part.” Vespa waved a section of Rita’s script. She’d been writing notes on Rita’s finished pages throughout the reading process. “Where it says my arms are covered in tattoos. I’ve only got twenty tattoos and only six of them are on my arms, so I thought that was kind of unrealistic, kid.”
“I’m taking artistic license, Miz Vespa!”
Vespa narrowed her eyes and grabbed her knife. “Are you saying my tattoos aren’t already artistic?”
“N-no! Fine, I’ll change it!” Rita snatched the page back and began to doodle furiously on it. Jet leaned close.
“Do not listen to the haters,” he whispered. “You have created a masterpiece of television.”
“Thanks, Mistah Big Guy.”
“You are welcome.”
“Well, this has been entertaining.” Nureyev tapped his fingertips on Juno’s knee. “If there’s nothing else that you require, the two of us will probably go to bed…”
“No, you can’t go to bed!” Rita frowned. “Whaddaya mean? We’re just gettin’ started!”
“Rita, you’ve read us your entire story,” said Juno. “What else is there.”
“I’ve read you the pilot episode.” Rita reached behind her and grabbed an enormous stack of blank notepads. “But now, you’ve all got to help me plot the rest of the first season!”
The rest of the crew looked at each other. Juno sighed and got up from Nureyev’s lap.
“Fine,” he said. “I’ll get some coffee started. Looks like we’re gonna be here a while.”
Dancing In The Dark~Lindsey Horan x Male reader
Tumblr media
prompt: Lindsey and Male reader are quarantined together, they’re in a bit of a rut. Romantic dinner, and dancing fixes everything.
Requested by: @zestybiscuitanon
Y/N PRO//
It’s been 8 weeks since the start of the quarantine. The first 3 weeks were a walk in the park and my girlfriend Lindsey Horan and I were more in love than ever, We relished in the time we got to spend with each other and all the new things we were learning about each other. But then things shifted, we started arguing more often and by the time week 6 came around we were eating meals in silence, not knowing what to talk about anymore and having to take consistent days of space for ourselves. Now we weren’t going to break up by any means… at this point but if we wanted to make it work we need to find a way out of this rut we’ve found ourselves in.
“Y/N?” Lindsey called out, coming into our room looking at me hesitantly
“Yeah, Linds?”
“I was wondering if you wanted to play FiFA with me?”
“Ummm… maybe later okay? I’m a little busy right now, sorry.”
As soon as I said that I regretted it as I watched her face fall but she did her best to put on a fake smile as she nodded and left the room. I would have said yes if I knew we wouldn’t play in absolute silence and stay sitting a whole couch a part.
“I’m a little busy right now.” What? That’s a lie, idiot! I know lying to her wasn’t the best idea and I could tell that I had hurt her feelings but I wasn’t really sure how I could make up for it now. I just flopped down on our bed frustrated by my inability to be honest, but eventually I got up and went to the desk we had in the room across the hall, sitting down I  pulled up a notepad. My best ideas, romantic or not come to me when I write things down.
I started to brainstorm romantic dates I could plan to make up for the last few weeks, I knew it would be hard because we couldn’t really leave the apartment unless we needed to get food or go to the bank but I figured I could still pull this off.
“Romantic movie marathon?… no she’s probably sick of tv.”
“Pie eating contest?… That’s not romantic or a good idea.”
“ Nerf gun war?… Not romantic enough.”
“Walking Ferguson?… We already do that everyday.”
“Ughh, this is impossible.” I said to no one but myself.
“What’s impossible?” Lindsey said, taking me by surprise.
I quickly closed the notepad that had “Date ideas” written at the top in big letters, threw it across the room and tried to act as “natural” as possible.
“Uh, Oh… Nothing honey, I was just working on something for my boss.” I said nervously
“Okay? Why are you being so jumpy?”
“Me, jumpy? pfft, I dunno what you’re talking about.”
 I nearly fell out of my chair as I had put my feet up on the desk in my bid to look calm.
“Alright then, I’ll leave you to it then.”
Once again she left looking upset and slightly concerned. Wow… smooth Y/N, real smooth. I thought. I picked up the notepad and once again went back to brainstorming ideas. It was a lot harder than I was anticipating but after what felt like forever I finally got an idea I knew she would love. I ripped out the page that had my plan on it and went back to our room to start getting ready. When I was freshly showered and changed I went out to the living room to find it empty and a note on the counter.
“Y/N,
I took Ferguson for a walk, figured you were too busy to come with. Be back soon.”
-Lindsey
Okay so her note was a little cold, no “I love you’s” or “We’ll miss you’s” but this gave me the perfect opportunity to get everything ready.
 I planned to cook her favorite meal, and during dinner I would tell her how I was feeling about everything and she could do the same. I hoped that then we would be able to get better at communicating and we would be in a better place. After we finish eating I plan to ask her to dance, and we would go to the living room and we could dance like we did that night I asked her to be my girlfriend. In order for that to be romantic I needed to set up candles (without lighting them yet), sting some of those really cool Led lights around the room and close off that area until I was ready for her to see it.
That was the trickiest part since the living room was one of the first places you saw when you walked in the door but after some digging I found a clothes line, some pins and set of bedsheets I could hang to cover it. It looked really weird and I knew she would ask questions but I had answers ready. I barely finished setting everything up when she came back and when she walked in the look on her face was priceless.
“Okay… what’s with the giant bedsheet wall in the living room?”
“I just need those too dry; I accidentally spilled water on them, so I hung them up.”
“They don’t look wet to me.”
“Well, then would you look at that! They dried a lot faster than I thought.”
Turns out I really only had one answer to her questions and she was looking at me like I was crazy.
“You’re being really weird today Y/N, you know that? Here let me help you take them down.”
She started to tug on the sheets and I knew I had to find an excuse for her to stop before she saw what was behind them.
“Wait, wait! Don’t!”
“Why not? They’re dry I promise.”
“Lindsey, please stop!”
“Okay, okay. I stopped, what’s wrong? Why are you getting so worked up?”
“They’re important to me.”
“These bedsheets are… Important to you?”
She was even more baffled now and I could tell she was becoming more and more concerned by my weird behavior.
“Yes?”
“Y/N… is there something going on? Something you need to talk about? I’m a little worried about you babe.” She said, the concern very evident on her face.
She approached me and took my hand in hers, intertwining our fingers and squeezing gently.
“You know you can talk to me about anything, right?”
“I know, I’m okay. I promise but I just really need you to leave those up for now okay?”
“Okay, I’ll leave them be.”
“Good. Now I actually have a surprise for you.”
“You do, really?”
“Yeah, while you were out I made us dinner.”
I led her over to the table and showed her the meal I had prepared. I served us both and then sat across from her.
“Y/N- I don’t even know what to say. You didn’t have to do this, thank you.”
“I did have too, I wanted to make up for today and for the last few weeks. I know it's been just as hard for you as it has been for me. And I’ve been pushing you away, and I haven’t been a good boyfriend lately, I’m sorry.” I said earnestly.
“This was very sweet of you. It’s okay, I forgive you. I’m sorry as well, I know I haven’t been the most loving girlfriend lately.”
“It’s okay, I get it and I forgive you.”
“Can I ask you something, Y/N?”
“Yes, of course.”
“Why have you been pushing me away? I know I was doing some of the same things but I was starting to feel like you didn’t want to be here with me anymore.”
“I did that because I wasn’t sure how to tell you how I’ve really been feeling, I noticed that we were fighting a lot more about such little things and it scared the crap out of me, so I figured if I became a little more distant, the fighting would be less.”
“I’m sorry you’ve been feeling like that. I was feeling much the same way and didn’t know what to do.”
“I think we both were trying to find a way to make things better and ended up making it worse huh?”
“A little, yeah.” She giggled
I reached across the table and took her hand in mine, leaning across I kissed her gently. We continued to talk everything though and came to an agreement to do better at communicating how we feel and to make sure that we let each other have space but not push each other away. I felt much better and I could tell so did she.
“Did I tell you about that squirrel in that tree outside the building the other day?” Lindsey asked, already starting to laugh at whatever she was about to tell me.
“No, What about it?”
“So I was just taking a walk by myself right?”
My face fell at the thought of her walking around possibly feeling upset about us. She noticed and quickly added
“But I wasn’t sad or anything, I just want to get out for a bit.”
“Oh, okay. Continue.”
“So I looked up in the tree after I heard a bunch of noise and saw that he was trying to grab an acorn that had rolled far away from him, but he wasn’t just walking to it, he was determined to stretch for it.”
She finished in a fit of laughter and I couldn't help but join in.
“So like that little guy from ice age? He just couldn’t seem to get his precious acorn?”
“Exactly!”
We were able to find new, albeit somewhat weird things to talk about and finished the meal, smiling lovingly at each other.
“Okay… Linds?”
“Yeah, babe?”
I actually have one more surprise for you. You wanna see?”
“What? No way, Yeah I do!”
I took her hand and led her over to the bedsheet wall.
“Okay, we’re here.”
“The bedsheets? I’ve already seen these.”
“I know, silly goose. The surprise is behind them” I said giggling as she pouted at me.
“I would’ve figured that out.”
I back tracked after remembering I still had to light the candles, turn on the LED lights and turn out the regular lights, so I told her to go wait in the kitchen and not to peek.
“I wanna seeee.” She whined
“I know lovely but I promise it’s worth just waiting a little longer.”
“Fineee.”
As soon as she wasn’t looking I dashed behind the “curtain” and did everything I need to there, before emerging again only to go over to the light switch and turn out all the lights in the apartment.
“Hey, Why’d you turn out the lights?!” She yelled.
I went over to where she stood, once again taking her hand, telling her to close her eyes I led her over to the living room and tore down the bedsheets.
“Okay, open!”
When she saw everything she gasped loudly and brought her hand up to cover her mouth.
“Do you like it?” I said, nervously rubbing the back of my neck.
“Like it?… Y/N, I love it.”
“I’m really glad.”
I turned on the speakers I had set up and the playlist with all the music we loved, including the first slow song we ever danced to began to play,
“May I have this dance?”
I held my hand out to her and she eagerly accepted, I led her to the “dance floor” and we began to sway to the music. My hands rested on her waist while her arms were wrapped around my neck. She had to stretch on her tippy toes to be able to reach but she didn’t seem to mind. We got lost in each other’s eyes and shared little kisses here and there.
“These lights are so pretty.”
“You’re so pretty” I said smiling softly at her
“That was cheesy.” She giggled
“I know, that was what I was going for.”
“I love you.”
“I love you too, so much.”
We were so engrossed in each we had completely forgotten about Ferguson until he very loudly and rudely might I add made his presence known by barking at us and then shoving his way in-between us.
“Excuse you sir, do you mind?” I said feigning annoyance
He just barked at me while giving me the stink eye.
“Okayyyy… I’m sorry I left you out of my grand plan. Can you forgive me?” I said leaning down and petting him. He barked as if he was saying “Yes, I forgive you.”
“My two favorite boys.” Lindsey giggled.
We went back  to dancing but this time we included Fergs and made sure he knew we loved him too.
“You’re my favorite dance partner. Thank you for asking me to the dance.” Lindsey whispered in my ear, giggling softly  as she hugged me.
“Thank you for letting me step on your toes.” I chuckled.
“You know, maybe next time we do this, you could let me cook?” Lindsey said hopefully.
“I hate to be the messenger of bad news babe but… You and I both know you aren’t the best in the kitchen.”
I laughed at the offered look on her face as she slapped me on the arm.
“Hey, I resent that! I’m not that bad.”
I raised my eyebrow and gave her a knowing look
“Okay so I suck at cooking! You’ll just have to cook me a romantic dinner every week then.” She said jokingly.
“That can be arranged.” I laughed.
We “danced the night away.” As they say, having Lindsey wrapped up in my arms and feeling closer than ever was an amazing feeling and as we continued to sway to the soft music I knew we would be okay and we’d come out of this quarantine stronger than ever.
The Friend Trap: Starring K.T and Eddie.
Hey everyone! Here’s part two to my fanfic: https://bywhatilove.tumblr.com/post/612801624347410432/the-friend-trap-starring-kt-and-eddie
I would recommend reading that part first so you aren’t confused!
It had been a week since Eddie had talked to K.T on the phone- a week since he had (involuntarily, mind you) been roped into her master plan to get Fabian and Nina to reconnect.
Yes! That was it!
That was his excuse when this all went awry and Fabian and Nina were pissed off at him. When Fabian yelled at him for betraying their “bromance” or whatever and Nina threatened to use her creepy chosen one connections with the Egyptian gods on him, that would be his excuse. This had all been K.T’s idea and she had roped him into it. He was dragged into it by his teeth and nails and forced to help her put this all together. It wasn’t a lie- not really anyway. It had all been K.T’s idea. But, if he was being honest with himself, he wasn’t totally against it. She was right, after all. Fabian and Nina were such close friends and had been through hell and back together. They deserved a better ending than a letter that Eddie had almost lost. It had been a week, and he still hadn’t even asked Fabian to go to New York with him.
Come on, Sweet, he thought to himself. You’re the Osrian, the protector of the chosen one. You’ve protected the world from ancient Egyptian gods. You can ask your best friend to go on a trip with you.
He walked into his and Fabian’s living room in their shared apartment. It had been a week since their university had breaked for summer and typical Fabian still had his head buried deep into a book. Sometimes, Eddie had wondered how in the world he had become best friends with such a dork. When he wondered that though, he always remembered it was world threatening Egyptian curses that had bonded them for life. And he also remembered that he was glad Fabian had been their with him through it all. As far as right hand mans went, he was a pretty darn good one. Eddie sat down on a chair across from Eddie. He lazily propped his head up on his hand before flashing Fabian his signature smirk.
Fabian smacked his book closed. “What do you want, Eddie?”
Eddie gasped, pretending to be fake wounded. As he placed his hand on his chest he asked, “Why do I always have to want something?”
“Because you’re Eddie,” Fabian said like it was the most obvious in the world.
“Well, just the one time,” Eddie lifted his pointer finger in the air, “you’re correct, Rutter. I was wondering, why don’t you come with me to see K.T in the states next week?”
Fabian stared at the boy and blinked a couple times. “You want me...to come to the states to see K.T....next week?”
He shook his head and lifted up his book to begin reading again. “I don’t think so bud.”
Well, this was already off to a very rocky start. Eddie knew Fabian may have some reservations about going to the U.S in a couple days. They were a couple of broke college students after all. But to dismiss the idea right away? Eddie certainly hadn’t planned on that, but who was Eddie Miller to back away from a fight.
“Ughh...” Eddie groaned. “Come on, Rutter! Don’t you want to see K.T again? Plus, you haven’t been to the states before, right? I think that it’s time I properly Americanize you.”
Eddie knew from the moment the sentence slipped off of his tongue that he had messed up. Of course Fabian hadn’t been to America. If you asked him, that was one of the reasons Nina broke up with him. He was wrong though, of course. So wrong.
“Look, man, I’m sorry. I wasn’t even thinking about...”
Fabian had a far off look in his eyes, like he was trying to conjur up some old memory. “She said that once. That she had Americanized us all already. That was when she was the only American at Anubis.”
He cast his eyes towards his shoes as a sad smile crept over his face. Times like this was when Eddie was perfectly okay with going along with K.T’s master plan. Because if that had been Patricia that had practically disappeared with only a letter left behind, he would want someone to do whatever they could to help him find her again.
“I know it’s pathetic that I still talk or even think about her.” Fabian’s voice was cold and self-deprecating. Even after two years of last seeing her, he still held her up on such a high pedalstool. But it wasn’t like Fabian was just waiting around for Nina to come running through the door and say she was sorry, he had moved on to other girls. First there was Mara, but that relationship had only lasted about a couple months when both of them realized that being lonely and knowing the digits of pie were no grounds for a relationship. There had even been a couple girls at university.
Eddie shook his head. “You’re not pathetic, Fabian. Above anything else, Nina was you’re best friend. You’re allowed to miss her.”
Eddie needed to convince Fabian to come to New York with him. What had just happened was even more proof that he needed to try and do something. Even if this blew up in his and K.T’s face, at least they had tried to help.
“Can you please come to New York with me?” Eddie wasn’t above pleading at this point, if it got the job done. “I know for a fact that K.T wants to see you again. And I can finally introduce you to the world of New York bagels and pizza- aka every man and woman’s biggest dream. Please?”
Eddie knew he was pushing this a little too hard. He knew he sounded a little pathetic, begging like this. But it had to be done. He had to get Fabian on that plane, even if it meant dragging him against his will. Eddie was stronger than Fabian. He could take him.
Fabian played with the pages in his book. He would glance up at Eddie and then glance down at his books. Again and again. Until finally, he shrugged. “Yeah, okay. I’ll go to the states with you.”
Eddie sprung up from his chair and playfully punched Fabian on his shoulder.
“You’re going to love it, Rutter!” Eddie called as he walked down his hall to his room. But as soon as he was in his room and closed the door, he leaned against the wall and let out a deep breath. There was a very good chance this entire plan could end with Fabian and Nina pissed off at Eddie.
He pulled out his phone and texted K.T: Fabian is coming. Your turn.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
K.T looked at that text Eddie had sent her last week.
Fabian is coming. Your turn.
What the hell did that mean? Okay, sure this was all her idea. But they were in this together, Eddie wasn’t turning his back on her now. If this went awry, then it was both their faults. As Nina walked up with both their coffees, K.T quickly hid her phone.
“One iced latte with cream and sugar and carmel drizzle.” Nina placed K.T’s coffee down in front of her. “I don’t know how you drink it with so much sugar. Seriously, K.T, that’s all sugar with very little coffee.”
K.T rolled her eyes. This was a conversation they have had for a year now, since they first met, really. It had been such a surprise and a weird twist of fate for the Nina Martin to be her roommate at NYU. But, at this point, K.T had learned to stop questioning the universe and go along with it. If the universe wanted Nina to be her roommate, then she was not going to argue.
“Whatever, Miss. pure black coffee,” K.T teased back.
“Don’t be jealous you don’t have this amount of power,” Nina rolled her eyes playfully.
Both the girls broke out in a fit of laughter before K.T spoke. “So, I actually have some friends visiting tomorrow.”
Nina took a sip of her coffee before answering. She rose her eyebrows up in questioning. “Oh really, do I know them?”
What K.T wanted to say was this: Oh yeah, that’s a funny story actually! So you know how you’ve told me that you attended some boarding school in England for two years but couldn’t go back because of your sick gran? Well....that year that you didn’t go back, I actually went. I know all about sibuna and that you’re the chosen one and all that. And the two friends coming to visit? Yeah, one of them is your osirian and I’m pretty sure the other is like the love of your life or something.
What K.T actually said: “No, you haven’t meet them yet. They are some friends from high school.”
K.T hated lying to Nina about just how intertwined their pasts were. She absolutely hated it. She wanted nothing more than to tell Nina about the real reasons why she couldn’t sleep some nights. And that no matter how Nina tried to lie and say that her own nightmares were from scary movies, K.T knew what they were really about. She wanted to talk about how going to Anubis house was completely terrifying but also the best decision she ever made because it gave her a found family. A found family that Nina was technically apart of.
“That’s cool! What are their name’s?” Nina asked, always one to be curious.
Uh oh. K.T hadn’t thought this much into the lie. Her mind races trying to come up with the first two names that popped up into her head. Two very stupid names that K.T mental slapped herself for immediately.
“Edison and Fabo,” K.T answered earnestly.
Nina tried to hide her amusement but ultimately failed. She hid her laughter behind her hand, trying desperately not to be rude to K.T about her friends.
It took everything K.T had not to join her in laughing about her imaginary friend’s fake names. “Yeah, they hate their names too...” she was able to mutter under her breath.
“No, no, it’s not even that their names are that.” Nina shook her head. “It’s just...well remember my friends Eddie and Fabian from boarding school? I’ve told you about them? It’s just funny that their names are so similar.”
K.T held her tongue and nodded in agreement. Of all the names? And she picked those? How stupid can you be, K.T?
If only you knew, Nina, she thought to herself.
“Well, thanks for the brief coffee date, but I’ve got to go. Hair appointment,” Nina waved her hand around her head. “See you at the apartment tonight?”
“Yeah, of course!” K.T replied with all the enthusiasm she could muster, but her mind was far away. She watched as Nina gatherd her things and left. It wasn’t until Nina was completely out of eye sight that K.T allowed herself to unravel. She took a deep breath and leaned back in the chair. Placing her forehead in the palms of her hands, she shook her head. This was a bad idea. A bad, bad idea. Nina was going to be so mad at K.T for keeping all this from her. Their entire friendship was a lie practically, and that was all about to come crashing down tomorrow.
K.T pulled her phone out and texted Eddie: I’m starting to regret this entire thing.
It was only a minute later that she received a text back: Too late for that now Rush. It’s show time tomorrow! ;)
K.T shook her head. She was screwed. So screwed.
