NEW SEE YOU MY KING CHAPTER HAS ME SCREAMING REALLY GIDDILY LIKE I CHUGGED A LITRE OF CAFFEINE OMG SOFHWIDHAKDHSIDHAJDNSKBS
THEY’RE JUST SO CUTE I’M GOING TO CRY 😭😭😭😭
ALSO THIS IS LIKE…ONE OF MY FAVOURITE TROPES…
Where Character A sort of experiences seeing Character B get injured (whether due to being inside someone’s memory or here because they look alike) so when Character B shows up, Character A feels the need to hug them and confirm they’re actually okay and safe in front of them.
Zhang Li: Let me hold you for a moment. Just for a moment…
He saw Sute’s puppet brother being torn to shreds by the trap’s thread and immediately thought of Lunkhead falling apart, so he wanted to hug Mimi.
AND WHAT IF I SCREAM…
He’s taking note of how Mimi’s body is trembling and how his heartbeat is strong, meaning he’s still alive and it’s okay. 🥹
This body is trembling… His heartbeat is strong… He’s still alive… Perfectly alive…
He needs the reassurance,,, that he’s okay,,,, 😭😭😭😭
Also speaking of Sute…
He’s pretty terrifying LDGJKSHDSJ. I love insane green tea bitches like him, and it’s really cool to see who he is now that his mask is off. 👀
Zhang Li asked him if his neck still hurt (from when he was grazed by Zhang Li’s arrow), and Sute tackles and strangled him, demanding, “Little guard, does your neck hurt?”
He’s definitely holding a grudge against Zhang Li and has now completely adopted his ragtag corpse puppet as his true beloved, protective brother, with him telling him he’ll get him new hands—and a proper heart—in the future.
Ever since Erha and other similar stories, I do find these kinds of characters—especially with their twisted interpretations of love—really fascinating. He came close to killing Zhang Li today but couldn’t, so I’m excited to see what else Sute gets up to to get back at them.
In comparison to his brother though…
MIMI IS SO PRECIOUS!!
Even Zhang Li now is realizing how much like Lunkhead Mimi is, and he’s wondering when it started or if it’s always been like this… But he also thought about how Mimi is acting like this now because he’s pretending to be his guard.
Something something about their classes and ranks being different and Mimi having to play the part of a tyrant king/pharaoh and all the sad connotations that come with that…
But God, before we get into any of the potential sadder things the author would intend to explore with this couple, I just appreciate them for being them. They’re so adorable. Mimi especially!
In the panel below, he’s asking Zhang Li not to recklessly put himself at risk with no regard for his own life again. Excuse me as I go sob. 🤧
ALSO MIMI YOU’RE SO BAD AT YOUR JOB (those bandages are atrocious) AND I LOVE YOU FOR IT 🥹
He held back his temper at Zhang Li since he’s injured (and because he loves him *cough cough*) but he yelled at Xiao Wei for it. Poor Xiao Wei ahahaha. He had to save Zhang Li and then he gets fed dog food by the PDA of these two and then he gets yelled at by his boss even though he’s injured too lol.
But okay final note because I’ve hit the Tumblr post image limit:
Holy fuck Zhang Li you’re such a boss. You’re one of the most capable protagonists I have ever read about…
Not only did he manage to get back the hands on Sute’s puppet brother for Kaba, he even poisoned Sute. 👁️👁️
So they’re at an advantage now!! I can’t wait to see what happens next!

Chapter 32: Spilling the Tea. In which Katsu receives an unanticipated gift and is followed by a mystery ninja.
Shingen x OC; Kenshin x MC (Mai)
Previous Chapter: Here
Logline - Disguised as a boy, Katsuko finds herself working for Shingen, but her dangerous masquerade becomes difficult to sustain when she falls for the man with a fatal secret.
Unlike the other times I had visited Chiyome’s household, instead of being taken to her official reception room, I was shown into what must have been her private quarters. The décor was austere: she took the concept of minimalism to new levels – almost no furniture, no personal items, no tapestries or decorative screens and … no clothing. She was lounging on her futon with a young man. Neither were dressed.
Why am I always walking in on naked people?
Chiyome patted the man-boy’s cheek. “Leave us.” With a pout, he picked up a silk kimono, carelessly slung it over shoulder, and basically flounced out of the room.
“Don’t gape, child. I’m sure that was no more than you must have seen working for Shingen.” She stretched, then slowly and theatrically dressed in a pair of European style breeches and a shirt.
The performance was aimed toward me, possibly to shock, possibly out of her own sense of personal amusement, and I did my best to keep an impassive expression. I wasn’t shocked. Mostly I was annoyed that she chose to make me her captive audience. “I wasn’t embarrassed… only, he seems a bit… lightweight for you.”
“Child, I’m not concerned with what’s between his ears as long as he knows what to do with what’s between his legs.” She gestured for me to sit down. I sat. “Given what I do every day, that last thing I want to do in my free time is talk. Or think. I just want a straightforward fuck.”
Ok then, and more power to her. That didn’t explain why I’d been invited to her private rooms. At least, I hoped it didn’t. Was she warning me off Shingen? Did she even have that sort of relationship with him? I imagined coming up with all sorts of clever and impressive things to say to her. Unfortunately, what came out of my mouth was, “why am I here?”
Ugh, Katsuko can you at least try for some semblance of wit?
“For tea, of course.” She gave me a look that clearly said, ‘you’re an idiot,’ and I suppose I was, because it had never occurred to me that she would want to take tea with me.
Nor did I want to have tea with her, as the thought of trying to make conversation with her over the course of a tea ceremony filled me with dread. I was feeling awkward and gauche enough already. “You want to have tea with me?”
There was mockery in her laughter. “No. I am giving you tea.” There was a movement outside the room, and then, likely by some pre-arranged signal, a woman my age glided in. Hm. Glided was not the right word. She moved as silently as a ninja, but there was a restlessness about her that suggested she was holding back on a stockpile of energy that could explode from her at any moment. Chiyome addressed the newcomer. “Sute, this is Katsuko. Please get her a supply of tea.”
Until that moment, I had no idea that Chiyome knew my name. Which meant that Shingen had probably mentioned it to her… had this meeting been his idea? If so, it would have been nice to have been warned yesterday. Or maybe he had intended to mention it last night when I came back ‘after dark.’ As promised, I had returned to say goodnight, but he’d already been asleep, and I’d left without trying to wake him up.
Sute’s eyes skimmed me over with amused interest. “The girl from the Inn. So, he finally found you. You’ll definitely need tea.” She turned back to Chiyome. “How much?”
With a wave that indicated she didn’t really care, Chiyome said, “use your own judgement. I’m well aware you have experience with this particular matter.” It felt like they were having a conversation around and over me. Obviously, I was a joke to them, but it was difficult to understand what exactly about me was the joke.
The woman went to a cupboard, withdrew a large tin, and poured most of its contents onto a square of paper, which she then neatly folded into a packet. “Here.”
I automatically took the packet and sniffed it. Yes, it smelled like tea, although, I caught the scent of… carrots? Wild carrot tea?
“Don’t look so worried.” Sute laughed. “It’s actually rather tasty – we all drink it.” She gave Chiyome a look. “She must think it’s poison.”
“No, I don’t.” Although I would feel better if I could witness them drinking some of it too. “If it were a fast-acting poison, you wouldn’t have given me such a lot of it. It would be a waste of poison. And there are more efficient ways to kill me than a slow poison. I imagine that a signal from you would have Sute slitting my throat with the dagger she has in her sleeve.” Despite my bravado though, I intended to double check with Shingen before I drank this stuff. If Chiyome had any intention of killing me, I figured he’d have picked up on it.
“Hm.” Chiyome finally displayed a spark of interest in me. She withdrew one of those obnoxious cigars from a red lacquered box and lit it from the flame in a lamp. “It seems you might have a brain after all.”
“Does this mean you and I won’t be getting naked?” Shouldn’t have said that. But I was tired of her treating me like I was a child.
That got a laugh out of her. “Drink one cup every day, unless you’re having your monthly courses.”
Oh.
Sengoku era birth control.
“Unless you want babies. I always said I’d like a few around to play with but Chiyome-,” Sute paused and gave the older woman a mischievous look, “said that I would get bored and forget to feed them.”
I looked down at the packet of tea. I hadn’t thought. I should have. I suppose this also meant that Sute’s ‘experience with this particular matter’ implied a prior (hopefully prior) relationship with Shingen.
Sute continued to babble into my silence. “You don’t want a baby, do you?”
“Oh. God no. Not now.” My life was far too complicated to bring a child into it. I could just see the expression on Aki’s (and Fume’s) face if I showed up on their doorstep with a child in tow. Not to mention… temporal paradox? I wouldn’t want to give birth to my own grandmother. Or would the timeline naturally prevent that somehow? Maybe it wasn’t possible for a time traveler to get pregnant (or father a child) when they were out of their own era? Even if it were though… given my mother’s history of depression, having a child of my own had never been on my personal bucket list.
This, however, was a theoretical discussion that I ought to have with Sasuke – if, I could manage to do so without hideously embarrassing the both of us.
“You may go.” Chiyome waved me toward the door.
“Er, thank you.” Truthfully, I wasn’t sure whose benefit the tea was for – mine or Shingen’s - but I was grateful to have it. Even if… given his current health, there wasn’t any urgent need for it.
I bowed and left, with Sute at my heels. As we made our way out of Chiyome’s manor, she chattered away as if she’d decided we were to best friends. And… maybe I ought to dislike her… but I didn’t. She was like a golden retriever, too friendly to dislike. “Why were you hiding? How did he finally find you? Did you actually work for Mitsuhide? What’s he like?” Even once we were on the road toward the main part of town, Sute stuck with me.
Absently, I answered her questions. My attention, however, was not on her, but on a hooded figure who was following us. I couldn’t get a good look at him – he was good at slipping into the crowd whenever I stopped to look his way.
“Do you know we’re being followed?” I interrupted Sute’s fit of giggles – the revelation that I had been living under Shingen’s nose for weeks was highly amusing to her.
“The ninja? Yep, He’s good, but I’m better.” She made an adjustment to her clothing, pulled a hood up over her hair, and palmed one of her daggers. “I’ll take care of him if you want to go back to the castle. I haven’t had a good chase in a while.”
Without waiting for my agreement, she whirled and took off. Ok, not a golden retriever – a greyhound. When our pursuer realized she’d turned the tables, he ducked into an alley. In moments, I saw him, then Sute, scurry up the side of a building.
I could have done that too! But it was too late – they were already zipping across the roofs.
Feeling left out of the fun, I headed back to the castle. The whole day seemed like it was conspiring to make me as insignificant and useless as possible. Was it true that the only possible use I could be to Shingen was as a bedmate? He’d treated both ‘Angel’ and Katsu as if they had more intelligence and agency than he treated me as Katsuko.
Could I be something more than that? As Katsu, I had been investigating the assassination attempts and learned from Susumu of Yoshiaki’s involvement. As Katsuko – I hadn’t done much – yet. I stopped in the middle of the street, to the displeasure of the merchant who had been walking behind me. What was stopping me from picking up that investigation? If I wanted to be something more, I would have to make that happen for myself.
I about faced (annoying that merchant even further) and headed for Susumu’s restaurant.
The restaurant was in its post-breakfast lull, although a few patrons were lingering over the tea and hot soup Susumu always kept ready for travelers.
“What may I get you, miss?” Susumu didn’t recognize me. Another day I might have left it at that, but I had spent too much time cultivating him as a source to want to begin again. I pulled my hair away from my face. “It’s me. Katsuhira.”
To his credit, his surprise only lasted a moment before he smiled. “Good morning, Katsuhira. I see it has been an eventful couple of weeks for you.”
I acknowledged this with a wink. “Lord Kenshin came a bit too close with Himetsuru Ichimonji, and this,” I gestured to my feminine appearance, “is the result.”
Susumu laughed so hard at the joke I was afraid he would herniate himself. Then, more quietly, he said, “I’m happy to see you today.” He lowered his voice. “The men in the corner – I’ve not seen them before, but they were meeting with another of Imagawa’s vassals today. The vassal passed the taller one a message.” I sneaked a quick look over my shoulder. Two men, non-descript, dressed as in travelling clothes. Neither were overly armed, aside from the swords anyone would carry for defensive purposes. Susumu then returned to his normal speaking volume. “Yes, the fish soup is fresh and hot today. If you’ll take a seat, I’ll bring some out right away.”
Joy. More. Soup.
I gave Susumu a quick smile, then casually took a seat directly behind the men in question, hoping they were the careless sort and I would be lucky enough to overhear something worthwhile.
I … was not that lucky.
Maybe only TV detectives are able learn important information while eavesdropping? All I heard was a bunch of slurping and a brief comment about wanting to get on the road before it got much later. While I listened to the nothing useful, I considered my options. Following them would be a waste of time. They weren’t planning to meet anyone else; they were simply leaving town. Nor could I join their table and subtly question them myself. In this era a woman couldn’t simply sit down and join a table of strange men without being thought a prostitute. Anyway, I didn’t want to talk to them – I wanted to get my hands on the message from the Imagawa vassal.
For a quick moment, I reconsidered the prostitute angle. Obviously, it was a ploy that Shingen and Chiyome’s spies employed on occasion – otherwise there would be no use for the tea that as Sute said, ‘we all drink.’ If I pretended to be a prostitute, maybe I could leave with them, and steal the message somehow? But how?
No… I discarded that idea. Too many variables, and I had no idea how good these two were in a fight.
I might be a daredevil, but I’m not stupid.
However, I needed to come up with a plan fast because it sounded like they were nearly finished. Maybe I wasn’t stupid, but I still felt like a failure for missing out on this opportunity. In my head, I heard Chiyome’s mocking laughter, while I stared into my nearly empty teacup. Dammit, that information was less than a meter away from me, right for the taking.
What would Aki do in this situation? His most-used ploy was to play a drunk to get close to his mark, then surprise them when their guard was down. While that wouldn’t work here, it occurred to me that… I didn’t need to pretend to be drunk… just clumsy.
I took my teapot up to Susumu and asked for more. Mentally, I apologized in advance for what I was about to do to his crockery. He replaced my pot with a new full one, and then I paused, waiting for the men to stand up in preparation to leave and then put myself on a trajectory that would -
WHAM!
SPLOOSH!
CRASH!
“Oh no! I am so sorry! I hope you were not burned!” While the man was still sputtering angrily, I dabbed at his clothes with a hand towel. Under the pretext of drying him off, I lifted the message and his coin purse (if I were caught, it would be safer to be thought a thief than a spy. Probably.)
Susumu did his part, adding distraction as he barreled over and yelled about the broken teapot and the wet floor. He grabbed my arm and dragged me into the kitchen, complaining all the while about the existence of clumsy maids. Pitching his voice loud and shrill (too shrill… my ears were ringing) he monologued about the woes of owning a restaurant where every odd traveler did nothing but spill food and break his dishes, culminating with a capper, “I should have become a stableman! At least horses are useful!”
(That… didn’t actually make sense, but I supposed he was going for volume over content).
He took a quick peek into the dining area. “They are gone, Katsu.”
“Thank you. I never knew you had hidden talent as an actor. Sorry about the teapot.” I tossed him the stolen coin purse. “I hope there’s enough in there to pay for a replacement.”
He rifled through it. “More than enough. I could build a new restaurant.” He thrust the purse in his kimono.
“In that case, may I buy, or rent one of your kimonos?” As much as I loved the one I was wearing, Mai’s handiwork was pretty distinctive. I’d be better off slinking out of here in a plainer outfit.
He agreed to load me a spare kimono he wore when he was gutting fish. “The smell alone ought to keep people away – though you may end up leading a parade of cats.” He let me change clothes in his storeroom and when I left through his back door, he was recounting the coins from the stolen purse.
I walked through the alley in my most casual I-don’t-have-a-stolen-message-tucked-into-my-kimono manner. It ought to have been simple to simply stroll my fish-scented self back to the castle.
It would have worked.
Except… there he was again - the ninja who had been following me earlier. He seemed to have managed to evade Sute, and whoever he was, he was not fooled by my new outfit. As soon as he saw me, he ran right at me.
No idea what he wanted, but the chance of it being something good was low to zero. I didn’t stick around to find out.
Before he got any closer, I led him on a chase through crowds…
…weaving around people,
…jumping over barrels,
…before rolling under a fruit vendor’s stall.
I dove into a passing a hay cart and held my breath while his feet pounded past.
A few minutes later, when I was sure he wasn’t coming back, I climbed out of the cart and emerged in the innyard…
Where I ran right into the two men from the restaurant.
Well. Hell.
Keeping my head down, I muttered a fast, “pardon me,” and turned to take off again.
The man whose purse I had stolen grabbed my wrist. “Not so fast, little thief.” He yanked me to him and held me tight against his body. “I think you have something of mine.”
It was the middle of the day, and we were in the castle town, so I wasn’t afraid that they would carry me off, but I didn’t want to be in this fight I either. “I have no idea what you are talking about. Let me go!”
“I think not.” His grip on me tightened. “Not until you return my… things.”
“You must have me confused with someone else. I work at Kasugayama. I’m no thief.” The implied relation to Kenshin ought to have given them a pause, but since they didn’t let me pass, I lashed out with my fists and feet.
One of them grunted when I got him in the stomach, but I took a hit almost in my eye, so we’d call that even, I guess. I managed to free up one of my daggers – just in time, because the one who hadn’t grabbed me came at me with his sword.
I slashed the arm of the grabby one – he swore and let me go.
The one with the sword charged toward me, and I deflected with the dagger. The other one drew his own sword, and I found myself outflanked.
I wasn’t worried yet… I still had my patented best move ready, the never-fail, ‘duck out of the way and run like hell’ maneuver.
And that was when the man who had been following me reappeared.
Great.
“Oh, this looks like fun,” he practically chirped. “Can I play too?” He pulled out a pair of daggers and…
…launched himself at my attackers in a flurry of metal.
He was helping me?
By this time, the innkeeper had come out to see what was going on, and the two men must have decided that was too much attention to attract in what was likely enemy territory for them. They grabbed their horses and fled.
I turned to my follower/rescuer. “Thank you for the help.”
“Just evening the odds.” He pushed off his hood and turned to me with a cheerful grin on his face. “Katsuko, don’t you remember me? I do consider myself extremely memorable.”
My brain slowly de-aged this long-haired ninja, replacing him with the memory of a chatterbox young monk I had met nearly five years ago. He’d changed a lot. But the smile was still there. “Ranmaru? But… why were you chasing me?”
Another smile, then he bowed deeply. I wondered how and why he had made the transformation from monk to ninja but this wasn’t the time or place to discuss such matters.
“I didn’t know it was you! Not at first.” Ranmaru withdrew a thin packet from his sash. “I have a message from my former master to Shingen. I thought to leave it with Lady Chiyome, then you were pointed out as his personal courier.”
“Former master? Then you no longer work for Kennyo?” Given the list of crimes Kennyo had committed against both Nobunaga and Kenshin, it was understandable that Ranmaru might want to distance himself from the man.
“There is not much I can do for a man condemned to live out the remainder of his life in an Azuchi dungeon.” Ranmaru’s smile faded. “It’s complicated as I am Nobunaga’s page.” He handed me the letter.
“I hope Kennyo doesn’t want Shingen to intercede with Nobunaga.” I couldn’t imagine that going over well.
Ranmaru shook his head. “Nothing like that. The two of them were friends at one time. I believe Kennyo wishes to apologize … and to say farewell, before…”
Before it’s too late.
Had word of Shingen’s condition travelled to Azuchi? Or maybe Kennyo had another reason to say goodbye. “Thank you. I will make sure he gets it. And thank you again for your help back there. I doubt I would have gotten through unscathed otherwise.”
Given Shingen’s lectures to me on my so-called daredevil behavior, it would probably be a good idea to keep today’s adventures from him.
No need to worry him when he was still sick.
Or well, worry him about this at all.
No, I wouldn’t mention any of this – I’d just have to come up with a good story about how I’d gotten my hands on the message from the Imagawa vassal.
Ranmaru preened before giving up and laughing. “It was fun. But you’re not completely uninjured.” He reached out and touched my cheek, and I winced at the unexpected pressure. “You’re going to have quite the black eye.”

Losers Fourth of July
It was a warm summer evening on the Fourth of July, and the Losers Club had gathered together for a night of celebration. Despite living in different states, they made a plan to come together today as The Fourth of July was a special day for them. This year, they had chosen a spot near the lake where they could watch the fireworks display.
As the aroma of burgers and hotdogs filled the air, Eddie and Richie were at their usual bickering which entertained everybody. Bill was talking about a new book he was writing. And Mike announced that he was seeing someone during his travels. Just like when they were kids, the Losers all sat forward to hear Mike talk about her.
When it was dark enough, the fireworks set off in the sky, sprouting an aray of magnificent colors. The rockets soared into the air, exploding into a beautiful display of colors and lights. The Losers oohed and aahed, their faces illuminated by the magnificent spectacle above them.
As the grand finale of the fireworks show began, illuminating the night sky with a breathtaking display of cascading sparks and explosions, the Losers huddled closer, their arms around each other. They watched in awe, their hearts filled with gratitude for the love and support they had found in each other.
After the Fourth of July fireworks had ended, the Losers Club found themselves lingering at the lake, reluctant to let the night slip away entirely. 27 years already slipped past them. They settled around a campfire, its warm glow casting gentle shadows on their faces. The crackling of the fire provided a comforting backdrop to their conversation.
Richie, always the talkative one, broke the silence. "Man, that was one hell of a show, huh? I don't think I've seen fireworks that spectacular since... well, you know, that summer."
Eddie nodded, a nostalgic smile on his face. Sitting in his boyfriend’s lap, Eddie wrapped his arms around him. They were the most physically affectionate out of any of them. "Yeah, it really brought back memories. Remember when we used to sneak out and make our own fireworks? It's amazing we didn't blow ourselves up."
Bill chuckled, his voice carrying a hint of his childhood stutter. "Y-y-yeah, and we'd hide out in the Barrens, scaring the crap out of each other with those homemade contraptions. Good times."
“You sute have a lot of memories,” Audra commented. Patty nodded her head in agreement. As the ‘newest Losers’ they fit right into the pack.
Beverly leaned against Ben, her head resting on his shoulder. "It feels like a lifetime ago, but being here with all of you, it's like we've never left."
Mike, the observer, spoke up, his voice filled with warmth. "You know, when I look at all of you, I see strength. We faced unimaginable horrors together, and even though time has passed, that bond is still as strong as ever."
Ben squeezed Beverly's hand, his voice filled with gratitude. "I couldn't agree more, Mike. Each one of you has played a significant role in shaping who I am today. You've taught me the true meaning of friendship and what it means to have a support system you can always count on."
Eddie leaned forward, his eyes meeting Richie's. "And speaking of support systems, Richie, I'm forever grateful for you being there for me, for helping me find the courage to face my fears. You've always been the one to make me laugh, even in the darkest moments."
Richie's eyes softened, his voice quieter than usual. "You know I'd do anything for you, Eds. You're my rock, my better half. I wouldn't be the person I am today without you."
As the night carried on, the Losers continued sharing stories, laughter, and tears. They reminisced about their childhood adventures, the battles they fought, and the scars they carried, both visible and invisible. They spoke of the futures they had built, the challenges they had faced, and the triumphs they had achieved.
As the embers of the campfire flickered and the night grew late, the Losers Club finally stood, their arms wrapped around each other in a tight embrace. They knew it was time to part ways, but the warmth of their connection lingered.
"We always have next year," Bill said softly, his voice carrying the weight of their shared history.
And with those parting words, the Losers Club dispersed, each carrying the memories of that Fourth of July night in their hearts. They knew that no matter where their paths led them, the flame of their friendship would continue to burn bright, guiding them through the darkest of times.

Currently, in this kind of situation, to be able to reach senshuuraku is truly no easy thing. The fact that the staff, cast, and audience, everyone, could make it bloom in the midst of their lives made this a flower of miracle. To those who are watching from far away, I offer the sincerest gratitude from everyone involved in this performance. I pray that the flower of miracle in everyone’s hearts will continue to bloom beautifully forever. Thank you for today.
~~~
Wada Takuma: Continuing, with the touken danshi cast’s messages (sharp intake of breath). [its obvious he’s trying to keep his composure.]
I’m glad I met Jizou Yukihira. I’m glad I met Touken Ranbu. I’m grateful for all these encounters. Truly, (sniffs) thank you very much for today (bows and then gestures to Kokin.) Of course, I’m very thankful, very glad to have made it till here, but more than anything else, though the days fighting along with Kotegiri Gou were very harsh, I was happy precisely because of that (sniffs). I will definitely return stronger next time, so since it’ll be a long-awaited day, please support me. Thank you so much for today :D (full kotegiri gou smile).
Izaki Ryujirou: As Shishiou, I’m Izaki Ryujirou. Thanks to everyone’s overwhelming, thorough cooperation and brave determination, we were able to depart on 38 sorties. Thank you very much. Like this, to be able to stand here as Shishiou alongside Nue (pats Nue’s head), is something I think of with pride. Thank you very much for visiting us today.
Matsui Yuho: I’m Kikkou Sadamune’s actor, Matsui Yuho. Come to think of it, to be able to say a dream has come true is really a wonderful thing. I held hopes of appearing in tousute, so I’m really happy this one dream came true. That’s why my next dream is to be able to finish smoothly on tousute’s stage again with everyone’s smile. That’s my dream now. Please meet me with a smile once more (smiles). Thank you.
Sano Mashiro: I’m Nikkari Aoe’s actor, Sano Mashiro. Eh….yes…(trying to keep it together) um, it’s an unexpected coincidence* with yuho-san, but my dream came true too. For the sake…of that dream…all the effort….working hard all along….if I was unsuccessful, I would be devastated, I would be miserable, there were times I thought I’d give up (he has a tight throat and a bit of a stutter), but like the end where Jizou says “my dream, too, has become a useless flower,” and Kasen responds with kindness**, I’ve had people who supported my back, who were thoughtful, who scolded me, who fascinated me, thanks to those people, I’m standing here having my dream come true. Right. I still have another dream. From tomorrow too, I’ll work hard. Thank you for visiting and watching. [* the term mashiro used is literally ダブルエン. ** ‘Kasen says words of kindness’ / Also, i missed out a few words because he was so near to crying i couldn't make them out :( ]
Umetsu Mizuki: I’m Yamanbagiri Chougi’s actor, Umetsu Mizuki. Due to various people’s strength, we finally reached here. I’m feeling immensely proud of the fact the lamp* was protected all along, but before that; are you watching? (laughs) This is tousute!! This is the power of theatre!!! The full extent of that fact is sinking in right now. Thank you so much for coming today. [*I thought ume-chan mean ひ as in 火, but 灯 makes more sense given the title and the lamps’ significance to this story.]
Wada Takuma: I’m Kasen Kanesada’s actor, Wada Takuma. Thank you for visiting today. Also, thank you to those watching the livestream. During the previous production’s, Iden’s senshuuraku’s live viewing, I saw this current production’s announcement from the theatre seat along with everyone in the audience. Ever since that moment, this has been a very, very, long-awaited work*, but, I never imagined it’d take a form where the curtain – such a form where the curtain would close halfway. Since Suemitsu-san added the word ‘lamp’ to (this) butai touken ranbu, us actors, and all those related, tried with everything we had to prevent the flame from being extinguished up till now (pauses to collect himself). We couldn’t show the vision of ‘kiden’ to everyone, but, as Yamanbagiri Chougi’s actor umetsu-kun said, the power of theatre, the stage's magnificence, is something you all have proved to us these past days. What – what do I say about today...whether to call it strange, or mysterious…… since swords have their own numbers, Kasen Kanesada is the 89th one right? (smiling) To say be able to say today is the 9th of August* (wipes tears) what kind of ironic fate is that? Somehow, I’ve got bittersweet feelings, but surely, the historical Hosokawa Tadaoki and Gracia-sama are saying “give it your all!” while pushing my back forward***. That’s what I selfishly think. At the very end of the performances, I recite a poem I wrote myself but, (deep breath) someday, for the sake of the day the work called ‘kiden’ is delivered, I will choose the moment I recite the poem. Today, I will end on this note. Truly,
(everyone) thank you for visiting us!
[*I don’t know if I could get the point across, but kuma’s saying that with more of a personal emphasis, as in he looked forward to it from the bottom of his heart. **Japanese dates are written month-day. So 9th of august = 8/9. Happy kasen kanesada day! ***kuma had so many shuddering intakes of breath, it was painful to hear again and again as I rewound for translating this.]
I love your writing so much! Yandere Todoroki reacting to his darling seeing his darling in a crowd after she escaped from him years ago and what he does?
I really do love this trope, even if I might’ve been a little loose with the prompt. Still, when I’m given an opportunity to write a Soft!Shoto, I will take it gladly. I think I just miss this AU, too.
TW: Re-Kidnapping, Abuse of Power, Implied Past Abuse/Sexual Assult, and Breaking/Entering.
~
Half a decade. You’d been gone for half a decade.
Shoto couldn’t believe it, not really, even as he sat in an unfamiliar room in an unfamiliar apartment, situated in a neighborhood much too sketchy for his comfort. He knew you didn’t want to be a Hero, only a few of the General Studies students did, but he hadn’t expected you to disappear hours after graduation, hours after he’d… popped the question, to put it bluntly. He knew your relationship hadn’t been the most stable, but it was still a relationship, one that’d been ripped away from him much too quickly when you fled. He’d been mad, angry, wrathful, but that was years ago, now.
In all honesty, he was just glad to have you back. Even if you weren’t technically back just yet.
He’d saw you by mistake, in the background of a newscast Midoryia had asked him to watch. It was just a second, but he was able to find which city you were staying in, and from there, your new address. Just thinking about it made Shoto smile, the grin broadening as he heard you come in, the front door unlocking before creaking open. Your voice was immediate, wordless but so pacifying, Shoto suddenly finding himself tempted to melt into your bed, to hold you and kiss you and surround himself with you, if only because he could, now. It was all Shoto could do to wait for you, fists balled and attention focused on the wooden floor. So preoccupied with his own self-control, he hardly even noticed when you found him.
You didn’t seem to carry a similar distraction, though, freezing in the open threshold as soon as you stepped into your bedroom. The bag you were holding fell, crashing to the floor and falling open, and for a moment, you just… stared, lips parted and eyes wide, never leaving Shoto. He watched on, letting you break the silence. He couldn’t wait to hear how happy you were to see him.
And yet, your words didn’t reflect the same joy he knew you felt. “Leave,” You greeted, never giving him anything more than a harsh glare and crossed arms. “Get out of my house, or I’m calling the fucking cops.”
At that, Shoto couldn’t help but let his smile waver. Shouldn’t you be relieved? “Honey, aren’t you--”
“I don’t care.” There was no inflection, no fear or joy or feeling, only plain words and a step forward, the bag remaining sprawled out and unattended to. You stepped past him easily, not sparing a glance as you busied yourself with something on the nearby dresser, if only to avoid looking at your fiance. Shoto couldn’t help but feel offended, but he stopped himself from following you. He wouldn’t have changed at all, if he just smothered you like he used to. “I’m not going to say it again. Leave, or I’ll make you leave. Even you can’t get away with breaking and entering.”
The room went quiet as soon as the words left your mouth. It was a tense silence, palpable and thick, with you unwilling to continue and Shoto unsure of what to say. He did want to reach out to you, to remind you that he loved you and how much he wanted to love you again, but it was discouraging, how you seemed to flinch away at every little movement. He opened his mouth, but neither of you ended up breaking the stillness.
Instead, a small form poked around the open door, a head of pink hair emerging and catching Shoto off-guard. “I can’t find my… Who are you, mister?”
It was a child, a toddler, really, no more than four or five. A mop of diluted, rose-colored hair hung a little too long, partially covering eyes that looked far too similar to yours, and Shoto’s bliss was instantly renewed. The conversation was abandoned as Shoto turned, leaving you to your tantrum as he knelt in front of the boy. “I’m a Hero,” He started, as much kindness as he could summon. “(Y/n) is a… friend, to me. And you?”
“Sota.” A small hand extended for a handshake, but you took action before the interaction could go any further. The way you pulled him away, placing yourself between Shoto and the boy… it was so protective, Shoto’s heart skipped a beat from the sight alone. It must’ve been obvious, because your glare was sharpened in a second, the child catching on as he hid behind your legs. “Honey, go find Sute. I need a minute alone with my friend.”
With that, ‘Sota’ scampered off, and Shoto brightened. “There’s another?”
“Twins,” You explained, simply, bracing yourself. Shoto couldn’t blame you, not with how reflexively he took you up, his arms wrapping around your waist before you could push him away. He lifted you off the ground easily, spinning and beaming as you dug your nails into his arms, but he couldn’t care less. He was a father, a dad, and you were back! You were parents and you were together and nothing was going to seperate the two of you again! Shoto was sure of it, even if you didn’t seem to be. You moved to continue, to go on, but he didn’t let you, too excited to stay quiet.
“I can’t believe this! Is that why you stayed away for so long? You were afraid of what I’d think, weren’t you?” He didn’t give you a chance to answer, dropping you and holding you close, keeping you slotted against him. Like you should’ve been for the past five years. “Twins, too, twins. Have their quirks started to manifest? Do they have quirks? Yours or mine? Fuck it, that doesn’t matter. I’m going to need a bigger--”
“This doesn’t have anything to do with you.”
Shoto stopped, blinking. “What?”
“This isn’t your family.” You weren’t yelling, but he could tell you wanted to, something violent bubbling just under your tone. You shoved at his chest, but Shoto didn’t care, only holding you tighter. “I raised them, I am raising them, and I can do it alone. You don’t get to come back and just… control me again. I won’t let you.” There was a pause, and you went stiff, averting your eyes. “They’re my boys. I don’t care if you think you’ve changed, you’re not touching them. No one is.”
Shoto couldn’t help it, his chuckle turning to a laugh as he listened. “This is why you need me,” He said, ignoring the way you scowled. You two would have to talk about your ungratefulness, later. “I’m going to bring you three back to the city, alright? You’ve been working all this time, haven’t you? I’ll fix that. Someone’ll need to stay home with Sota and… the other one.” Again, you moved to complain, but Shoto only cut you off. It wasn’t hard, not when you made your priorities so obvious. “That is, unless you don’t want to be with them? Hiding a Pro-Hero’s kids won’t end well for you, (Y/n), especially with how long you kept this up.”
You went pale, going rigid in his hold. Shoto only smiled, leaning forward to rest his head on your shoulder. Sota and Sute, a bit taller and less strategic, were back in the doorway, looking on curiously, but Shoto didn’t worry about the pure concern written across their young faces.
He already knew you were going to be the perfect family. You’d be a happy family. A loving family.
Even if it took you a little time to get used to the idea.
You've mentioned before that in the past Yume's anger led her to kill people freely, does she feel any remorse or have any lasting impact on her psyche? Is she willing to confess this to the people around her? How does she feel about potentially killing in reactionary anger in the future? And one last question, does Yume have any thoughts about the morality of the system for samurai back home giving them privilege to openly kill?
Firstly, my god this is an amazing ask anon!!! Thank you so much for this well thought out ask!! 🥰💖 I’m going to try to answer it as thoroughly as I can.
So for those that may not know Yume’s backstory, she was born the oldest child of the daimyo (a feudal lord) Masanori Aino, and so not only was she born and raised as a samurai but a very powerful one at that. Yume grew up believing that the way of the samurai is honorable and virtuous, and pretty much throughout most of her childhood she never questioned it. Yes, Yume has killed people freely before, but it was always considered honorable and justified. Why is that?
According to Bushido (the samurai code basically), a samurai has the right to attack or kill anyone of a lower caste that they feel has compromised their honor. This is called “kiri-sute gomen” and you can read more about it here.
The example I have given in the past is when Yume and her clan travelled to Kugane from Aino Castle, along the path, a peasant man didn’t bow to her when she passed him. She stopped her horse, jumped off, and immediately took his head, as this compromised her honor as the daimyo’s daughter. No one questioned her for this either, as it’s just the way of things in Hingashi. But did she do this just because this is the way of things? Partially, but she also was very angry at the time as well.
So to start finally answering the question: does she feel remorse? Yes and no. She has learned that in Eorzea this is considered horrific and she could’ve been arrested for murder, so she does not tell many people about herself. She feels remorse because she is not as quick to kill now, and she wouldn’t do anything like that in Eorzea over something as simple as someone not bowing to her. Yet she also realizes that this was how she was raised, and she was only a young teenager at the time, so she knew of no other way of life. Yume is upset emotionally about it but she also uses logic to help her cope with it and to try to not blame her child self for living in the only way she was taught, if that makes sense.
Really the only people that truly know about Yume’s past are Cid, Raha, and a few of the Scions and other Warriors of Light who know of the Hingan samurai way of life. Like I said before, she is absolutely remorseful but she’s not feeling overwhelming shame from it. She wants to live a more peaceful life than she ever had in Hingashi, but she knows it’s a learning process and it takes discipline to truly change as a person. In actuality, she is way more ashamed of her attempted seppuku and her banishment by her father, because this was considered the great dishonor for a samurai, but I digress.
So, while she yearns to change her ways and to act peacefully and not lash out in anger, old habits die hard, and she has to hold back A LOT when she feels she or someone she cares about has been dishonored in some way. One of Yume’s biggest flaws is her temper and she is quick to lash out if she doesn’t actively hold herself back.
Lastly, what does Yume think of Bushido and does she think it should be changed? Honestly I don’t know if she thinks about it too hard, as she has way more on her plate as a Warrior of Light than anything happening back in her homeland. What she would probably say is that the samurai should learn restraint and to not be so quick to draw a sword, but I don’t know if she would want the policy of “Kiri-sute gomen” changed completely.
Once again, thank you so much anon!! This was an awesome ask!! 😘🥰💖
Kiss the girl
This didn't go the way I was expecting but I still like it. It does get a little spicy but not smut I promise.(im pretty sure this isn't smut because they don't actually do the 'devils tango')Enjoy!
**********
Robin looked over at the girl by his side, her dark hair glistening in the moonlight. He and ladybug had been teamed up to patrol for months. It was a slow night and there hadn't been more then a few petty thieves and a lady who was lost. Ladybug had been training with the batfam for the whole summer and was going to continue for the rest of the year. She didn't want to say too much about her civilian identity but Robin knew she was going to gatham university and that her boyfriend of two years had just broken up with her. He also knew he had a crush on her.
"Robin, you who, are you there?"
"Yeah! sorry," he said blushing "I guess I just spaced out. What did you need?"
"I was just saying I should have brought my sckech book, the sky is beautiful tonight."
"It really is," he said turning back toward the city. The two of them had a wonderful view from the building they were sitting on. The only taller building was Wayne enterprises behind them.
"What have you been drawing recently?" He questioned turning back to ladybug.
"Oh y-you know, this and that. Just things I see a lot." She hummed," I'm working on drawing people more so they look realistic when I'm drawing the outfits."
"Im sure they are beautiful. I've been working on people too I just can't get the face right." He said looking at her eyes, her nose, her cheeks, and finally her mouth. His face felt hot as he looked back at her eyes and noticed they were on his lips. She blushed and looked away.
That was when the humming started. Ladybug didn't have a earpiece so she couldn't hear what his brothers where doing.
Red hood started, "now you see her,"
Red Robin giggled before continuing, "sitting there across the way."
Nightwing caught on pretty quick "she don't got a lot to say but there's something about her."
Red Hood picked up,"and you don't know why but your Dying to try you wanna,"
The three of them harmonized, "Kiss the girl."
"Yes you want her," red Robin sang trying his best Jamaican accent.
"Look at her you know you do," Nightwing continued, "its possible she wants you too,"
Red Hood, a surprisingly good singer, kept it going, "there is one way to ask her, it don't take a word not a single word, go on and,"
All three, "kiss the girl!"
"Enough!" Robin yelled at his brothers. As they were singing he had been getting redder and redder. "Your accents were all terrible, you are a disgrace to this family."
"No that's Mulan."
Robin turned off his ear peace.
"What was that about?" Ladybug asked.
"N-nothing." Damn he was stammering, he wasn't supposed to stammer. He was a Wayne, he didn't get flustered over his brothers teasing him about some girl.
"Really it didn't sound like nothing." She said Concerned. Oh, she couldn't look at him with those big blue eyes and expect him to be able to function normally. That just wasn't fair.
Then it hit him, what if he had the same effect on her that she did on him. He decided to test that theory. He slowly moved his had from his lap over to her hand. When he placed his had on top of hers she whipped her head around to look at their hands. She stared for a moment before turning her hand over and interlocking her fingers with his. She was almost as red as her sute.
She was holding his hand. SHE IS HOLDING MY HAND! Oh what do I do?! She is blushing! Dose this mean she likes me????? Oh no now what???? Am I supposed to kiss her??? STAY CALM WAYNE!! STAY %>^~ING CALM!!!
He was not staying calm, he was in fact panicking. As was Ladybug. They were a mess, but a cute mess. Both bright freaking red holding hands looking over the gatham sky.
Robin looked at Ladybug's face, her blue eyes that shown in the moonlight, her bright pink cheeks that matched her lips. He wondered what it would be like to kiss those lips. Would she taste like the vanilla she always smelled like? Would she smile and run her fingers through his hair? Would she pull him closer then they had ever been before?
He hadn't noticed how close he had gotten to her or that she was leaning closer her mouth slightly open begging him to kiss her.
Then her yo-yo started ringing braking the two of them out of their trance, their faces even brighter red then before. Ladybug pulled her hand from his as her answered the call.
"H-hello.......no he must have turned it off.......ok we will be right there." She looked back at Robin the blush that had disappeared from her cheeks returned full force when she saw him. "T-there is a bank robbery, batman and red Robin need us."
By the time they arrived batman had already taken out the leader and two of the goons. Red Robin was helping the hostages escape, why were people at the bank at 2 in the morning Robin may never know, but he helped his brother and ladybug took out three goons tying them up after.
"Great work team!" Red Robin said over the coms as batman spoke to the police. "There were no casualties, and we got that done in record time."
"Thats great," Robin said sarcastically, "now can we go, we still have to finish patrol." They didn't really need to finish patrol but he wanted to get out of there and continue whatever was happening with ladybug earlier.
Once they were given the all clear the two of them when to Wayne tower to talk.
"So..." ladybug said awkwardly, "um... you almost kissed me?"
Robin blushed, "yes I guess I did.....why did you not want me to?"
"No no I did want you to! I mean I won't mind. I mean um well I-I I've kinda liked you for a really long time and you were holding my hand and I just thought and I shouldn't have assumed and I'm sorry but you were leaning in and...I'm sorry."
He stared at her, she wanted to kiss him. SHE WANTED TO KISS HIM! SHE LIKED HIM!!!! THIS WAS GREAT NEWS!!! wait, she was apologizing? why was she apologizing? Oh, she didn't know he liked her. She was just sitting there not looking at him. He decided to do something impulsive.
He took her chin turned it toward himself and leaned forward giving her plenty of time to pull away if she wanted to. When their lips met it was exactly how he imagined it, he cradled the back of her neck pulling her closer as she ran her fingers through his hair. She pulled away for a moment to swing her legs around him so she was sitting on his lap her ankles crossed behind his back. He put one arm around her waist pulling her even closer to himself. As they continued he moved them to the floor of the roof and lay down pulling her on top of him. His hands running up and down her sides. His mouth moved from her lips to her cheek and then her neck. She groaned at the contact and pulled his hair harder which made him groan. He eventually moved back to her mouth.
When they finally broke apart they were both panting for air. He sat up she was still on top of him.
"So.... I guess you do like me after all." She said smiling at him.
He barked out a laugh. "After that would you have any doubts. So, now what?
"What do you mean?"
"Well is this going to be a one time thing or are we going to try dating? Because it's going to be kind of hard to go in dates with our masks on."
"Well I was sworn to secrecy I am physically unable to tell you my name. But I can give you this," she pulled a bracelet from her yo-yo, "i have one just like it and they are the only ones that look like this in the world, so if you happen to see me with one you can ask me out then."
He grinned, "so all I have to do is find a girl with that bracelet and it will be you?"
"Yep and when you ask me out ill say 'is this about the night on the roof?' And you'll know its me."
"Sounds great."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Damian was incredibly tired he hadn't been able to sleep because of the kiss. It kept replaying in his mind. But he had a fitting for a suit later so he had to get up. The girl making his sute was named marinette, she had been quite nice the first time they met. She was already in the living room with his brothers and father when he walked in. Everything seemed normal until he noticed the bracelet on her wrist. That means.... oh $#*! This was the same girl he had been making out with last night. Yep there was the hikky he had given her. Just his luck.
****************
I wanted to try to write something more spicy, I think this turned out pretty good to be honest. Anyway I'm going through some writers block and I think this helped. Crap I have to be up in 7 hours and I still have to edit this. Yay.

Hypmic stages have always been in my to-watch list, but I haven’t found the opportunity to actually watch any of them until now. I watched track 1 just now, and I have to say that it was very great.
Before, the main reason I wanted to watch hypsute was because I was curious how they would portray the mic’s illusions and because I liked some Hypmic songs. Later it has changed to wanting to watch more Takano Akira’s stages. I’ve been pretty into him lately.
So yeah, I watched the stage for him, but actually fell for the others too. The ones that captured my attention the most were Samatoki and Jiro. Abe Aran just looked so pretty and… manis (I would say cute but I think manis fits better), while Matsuda Shota’s really cute. I like his boyish charm. He looked really young, but I can’t find much information about him? Googling his name just gave me information about a more senior actor with the same name.
Anyway, I’m just saying that I like sute!Samatoki and sute!Jiro a lot now.

OC Sortings: Tales of Arcadia
so i started to write up a list of ocs i've sorted (or am in the process of sorting), and then i remembered i have a Fuckton of tales of arcadia ocs in particular, oops. so! they get their own post!
under the cut and in no particular order:
[[MORE]]
---
Liyen: horrifically exploded badger primary, with an unhealthy snake model; bird or badger secondary, one modeling the other.
Aurax: DOUBLE LION.
Schommag: either burned snake primary with a bird model, or bird with snake model; bird secondary with snake model.
Zand: double snake, both burned to a crisp by her core damage (although her primary was pretty burned already).
Farid: either lion badger, with a badger primary model to cover for his burnt-to-shit lion, or double badger. he's a sweet boy but i'm sorry to say i could absolutely see him dehumanizing people.
Tanis: lion badger with a DEAFENINGLY LOUD badger primary model, holy shit. primary leans far more toward exploding than burning at pretty much all times, which can become absolutely terrifying depending on the au despite her gentle demeanor.
Padoun: lion or bird primary, badger secondary. i'd say badger primary, except i can't see him dehumanizing anyone.
Gostra: probably a snake secondary. either a) a real dickhead exploded lion primary, or b) an exploded snake primary who models exploded lion as part of his inferiority-superiority complex. if the latter, he has no People not so much because he's guarded as because it's vanishingly rare for him to meet someone who registers as a person to him at all lmao
Gryphus: bird primary, either snake or bird secondary.
Krosil: without a doubt, double badger. a grouchy, sardonic, long-suffering one.
Endea: either exploded snake primary or bird modeling such, performing exploded lion. having a hard time pinning down her secondary... prrrrobably snake? whatever it is she's manipulative as fuck and has no issue with lying lmao
Tátika: snake lion with a burnt ass primary. their moms, Drachä and Nelke, are both very loud snake lions so it tracks
Gaurom: inconclusive, was probably either a badger primary or a bird modeling one (leaning the latter) before having her free will taken and most of her personality destroyed. maybe a bird secondary? needless to say both are Extremely Fucking Burnt.
Oryalv: either a double badger with an exploded primary, or a lion badger with a burned or muzzled one. poor motherfucker just wants to use his bookkeeper badger to do good for society, and instead he gets endless piles of backbreaking useless busywork while never really getting anywhere or helping anyone.
Korthec: double snake, with a very nasty exploded primary.
Rahasa: double snake, exploded primary.
Praust: lion or bird primary, maybe snake secondary? the latter feels model-y, though.
Sute: BIRD SECONDARY, badger or snake primary. kind of leaning snake but who knows.
Johannes: bird snake whose crippling depression has left him burnt on both counts. someone help him (sute is trying)
Grir: oh god i have no idea
Tareto: VERY ANGRY SNAKE LION
Mellus: extremely chill lion bird.
Stennet: either snake lion or double snake, with a STRONG badger primary model.
Eil: badger lion. a terrifyingly unhealthy, traumatized, and violent one.
Fellion: snake badger, with badger primary model.
Vöender: horizon lion snake (a nice little reversal if stennet is a snake lion).
Tinker: snake bird without a doubt.
Silas: snake primary that's simultaneously burnt and exploded all to hell, snake secondary that spends the majority of its time in neutral.
Higget: snake badger. a very frightening but generally benevolent one.
Lachlan: chaotic bird lion, bird snake, snake lion, or double snake, who is having a blast at all times.
Melody: double lion or lion badger, with some bird secondary modeling.
Peter: DOUBLE BIRD, insufferable asshole please god peter can you live one second of your life without something to prove
Valiyit: either double bird, or lion bird with a LOUD bird primary model.
Even: snake bird modeling double bird.
Belzer: dumbass modeling idiot, poor boy. burned bird primary, secondary is so burned as to be inconclusive.
Zenith: snake lion, and an immature one on both counts.

A3! Takato Tasuku - Translation [SR] Banquet of Blooming (1/2)
*Please read disclaimer on blog; default name set as Izumi
---
Izumi: Haa, it was cold. I’m home~.
Tasuku: Welcome back.
Azuma: Welcome home, Director.
Hisoka: …Welcome back.
Izumi: Huh, is Winter troupe having a drinking party together?
Guy: That’s right. Tonight is rice wine.
Izumi: Fufu, that’s nice. Did Azuma-san get some tasty alcohol again?
Homare: Nope, it’s not that this time.
Tsumugi: Actually, we received it from Fuyuki-san.
Izumi: From Fuyuki-san?
Tsumugi: On my way home from work, I met Fuyuki who was holding a bottle of rice wine. I thought it was pretty unusual so I asked what was up—. It seems he was going to buy rice wine as a gift for an acquaintance’s stage, but accidentally bought more than necessary because of the shopkeeper’s slick talking.
Izumi: Ahaha, I see.
Guy: I understand that feeling well. When I go to the liquor store, I’m puzzled which one to choose and have ultimately ended up purchasing a number of them.
Azuma: What do you say? Won’t you also drink together with us?
Hisoka: …You’ll warm up.
Homare: There is sake that’s hot or lukewarm, which do you prefer?
Izumi: Then, I’ll take up your kind offer and I’ll have the hot sake.
Guy: I will prepare it now.
Izumi: Thank you very much.
Tasuku: …
Izumi: (From a while ago, Tasuku-san has been watching the TV with a somewhat serious look on his face…)
TV: “’A samurai’s right to cut down commoners’!* Ha! TAHH——!”
Izumi: Ah, you’re watching a historical drama, huh?
Tasuku: Yeah. The main character of this work is Miyamoto Musashi. From now on, I’m thinking this will be useful reference for when we have our rerun performances.
Izumi: (Rice wine while watching historical dramas… Hmmm, how refined…)
-pause-
Guy: The standing positions for the talk show seem good here.
Homare: Umu, I’m looking forward to the real thing.
Izumi: Ah, Tasuku-san. The rehearsal ended earlier than I thought, So if you don’t mind, would you let me go ahead and take the polaroid picture?
Tasuku: Ahh, the photo for the present that Sakyo-san was saying, right? Got it.
Izumi: Yep, that’s ok.
Tasuku: Yeah.
Homare: The imbalance between this pose and Tasuku-san somehow makes me laugh in spite of myself.
Guy: Isn’t it nice and fresh?
Tasuku: Haa… Everyone’s doing this pose, so it can’t be helped, alright?
Izumi: After, can you sign it and bring it back?
Tasuku: I got it.
Izumi: Alright then, for the screening party and talk show, I’m counting on you guys!
Guy: Yes, roger that.
-pause-
Guy: For this show, it was the first time the Winter troupe had a full-scale sword fight.
Tasuku: Yeah. I requested it from Minagi who was in charge of the script, and he put in it.
Homare: I was watching the other troupes, and was very interested in it as well. However, seeing how coach Yuzo’s training was far too spartan, I thought I should refrain from doing it after all.
Guy: Yukishiro was saying the same thing as well.
Audience: Ahahaha!
Tasuku: Besides our sword fight training, Guy-san and I went running together, didn’t we?
Guy: Yes. Running with Takato is—. …
Tasuku: Guy-san?
Guy: No, my apologies. Running with Takato is very worthwhile. He’s told me about various courses. Definitely let me accompany you again.
Tasuku: Of course. Same here, I’m counting on you.
-pause-
Izumi: (It’s a relief both the screening party and talk show ended on a high-note. After this is the sending-off of the guests.)
Tasuku: Thank you very much for coming.
Audience member A: The screening party and talk show were both really fun!
Guy: Above all else, it’s good you enjoyed it.
Audience member B: I love “Die by the Sword”! I’m looking forward to the next show too. I’ll support you!
Homare: Ahh, thank you. We promise to deliver another wonderful performance.
Audience member C: Hey… look, look. —Doesn’t he?
Audience member D: Yea, that’s what I thought!
Izumi: (? What’s up?)
Audience member E: That guy with black hair, doesn’t he look like Tasuku-san?
Izumi: Eh… —!?
Tasuku: Thank you very much—.
Fuyuki: That was really fun. Ahh yeah—, as excepted Musashi really is the coolest ever!
Tasuku: …Ha!?
Fuyuki: I’ll support you!
Tasuku: T-thank you very much...

*The historical term they used is "切捨御免" (kiri-sute gomen), which means "the right of samurai to kill commoners for perceived affronts". This was a privilege given to a samurai of the Edo period that allowed one to slay anyone of a lower class who was compromising their honour.

@saapphireblues Your call for aide has been answered! Saw you were looking for the lyrics and I had some free time this evening. I snagged the Japanese lyrics from online since I don’t have the physical album, so I hope they’re accurate ^^; I also don’t usually include romaji since I’m, uh, really lazy about it. But you said you wanted to be able to sing along so I included them for you.
The lyrics are actually pretty bonkers!

Drowning (溺れた) is also slang for being addicted.
So this is a play on words. 愛正さん (aisei-san) or “true love-san.” However, 正さん can also be read as “tadasan” which means “can’t be true.” This comes up later in the song as 愛正せん (ai tadasen) “love isn’t true.” There are no “you” pronouns in the song so I didn’t try to have it indicate that the love is meant for anyone or anything specific.
Otento-sama refers to both the sun and the ruler of heaven. Also the twilight hour is more literally writen as “a time when the demons come.” But it does indicate more around twilight than midnight.
This is a bit of conjecture on my part, but the buying jealousy/selling fights is probably meant to evoke that 売買 (the charcters for sell and buy, read as ‘baibai’) is slang for dealing drugs and other illicit things.

Order from Lunatrix B,
Hey there! First of all THIS IS SUCH A GOOD IDEA! I can only imagine the time and dedication it took you to think this through and make the orders! (Also I am lowkey so shy doing it off anon like AAAAH) May I please order a Dalgona Matchup Latte? (If it's possible to go with more than one drink then it would be nice to have the Strawberry hearts frappineccino as well!)
So I am an ENFP capricorn and my enneagram is 7w8! My behaviour with other really depends on my mood and on their personalities so other's image of me goes from "wow she is so friendly" to "wtf she is so conceited and manipulative". But most of the time people describe me as crazy, outgoing and bubbly! Since my height is on the shorter side and my cheeks are always red and freckly, I look younger and more innocent than I actually am.
I'm adaptable, super spontaneous and hate overthinking stuff. Also I am shortsighted lol but I don't really like wearing my glasses in public, they make me look so serious and studious when LOL no. I don't really care now but when I was younger I hated the 'honor student' label it gave me. I am a TROLL, super sarcastic and my sense of humor is hard to understand for some people since it's super ironic and kinda dark sometimes.
I have many hobbies and love learning new skills but the most important ones to me are definitely drawing/painting, cooking/baking, piano, reading, acting, swimming, travelling and learning new languages (I am fluent in 5 and learning 2 more). I used to be super passionate about martial arts and reached a black belt but had to stop due to health issues 😭. I'm ambitious, mischievious and cunning. I laugh super easily and smile a lot! I laugh at really inapropriate times, and since I don't cry easily my friends and family call me insensitive oupsii.
I have a super flirty personality but since I do it unknowingly or ironically sometimes, when people take it seriously I freak out and run away. I am hella oblivious to people flirting with me though like even if I notice I go nah there is no way they are serious, so when cute guys confront me about it and say it straight out all my confidence crumbles I BECOME SO SHY and speak in tiny font (and deny it like haha wow you're funny).
I am really honest about my 'positive feelings', like I compliment people a lot and am the type of person to text others saying that I am happy to have them in my life, that I had a great time hanging out, etc. But I SUCK with my negative feelings?! Like I just ignore them and never voice them out. Friends and family sometimes blame me saying that since I never confide they feel like I put a wall between us and that our relationship is kinda unequal since they tell me everything (I am a really good listener) but I really don't do it on purpose... I kind of feel obligated to be the 'strong' one who does not really feel anything...
I am sorry this is so long, thank you for taking the time to read it! Good luck for all your other orders i'm sute you'll do great!)
Thanks a lot for sending in your order here at Kyupid's Love Shop. One Dalgona Matchup Latte coming right up!....... where’d the side effec— oh, here it is! I matcha with ˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥
➞ this relationship thrives on the fact that you’ll both feel like you’re on top of the world when together; but honestly though, boring is not a part of this couple’s vocabulary like whew— (lemme be a part of this, ples, like i’ll third wheel)
➞ don’t get me wrong, it doesn’t mean that you and nishi are immature (it’s actually quite the contrary) it’s just that you both don’t feel that societal pressure that most do, you’re both just so free and that’s not something the majority of the population can afford
➞ so to say that you’re both beyond lucky to have found each other is a huge understatement; this be the type of relationship that iconic romance anime movies are based off on
➞ nishi will be the first one to make a move for sure, like bby did not even hesitate for a second — i want it, i’m gonna try to get it typa man
➞ it won’t even matter if you push him away or if he has to court you for a year or so, he’ll only stop if you actually say that you’re not interested but i mean WHO in the world would reject him?!
➞ your looks will definitely remind him of a tropical paradise he’s visited, which is what he feels whenever he’s around you, so best believe this man won’t let his walking paradise go; he’ll probably also call you his lil’ firework
➞ he values the fact that you both can view the world the same, but if there’s a difference in your viewpoints, it doesn’t lead to arguments like most do, but instead having each side doing their best to understand one another — nishi is the type to be very open-minded and always fights for what’s right, i also get that vibe from you
➞ nishi is up for anything; so when he found out about your abundance of hobbies, he will bombard you with questions about them, your advice to get the hang of them, and always asking if he’s doing them right
“look babe, i tried to draw something for you!”
“aww, yuu, this cow looks so cute.”
“.......”
“...it’s a baby bear, but thank you so much, baby, it’s definitely an improvement from the last one. i love you!”
➞ he has a very innocent type of humour... maybe sometimes perverted, but that’s not the point— so if he does find one of your jokes to be too dark, he will ask if you’re okay, but he definitely won’t be like ‘wtf is wrong with this betch?’
➞ you two would always be traveling whenever your schedules allow you two; and you guys would always be learning something new! surfing, atv riding, bungee jumping, hunting, fishing (durh), learning some catch phrases in the place’s native language, cooking their national dishes, and so so much more
➞ with nishi, there’s never a time where you’ll be bored, everything will just be perfect when you’re with him; literally you’ll both be the couple who probably doesn’t even plan their days unless it’s like something so important
➞ ‘there are some flowers you only see when you take detours’ type of life motto/vibes
➞ oh, and you always complimenting him and telling him how much he means to you? mans could die from to much heart palpitations... uwu, just pure uwus
➞ he’s not very romantic all the time, so most of the compliments he’ll be giving you will be like:
“baby, you’re way cuter than this. you’re the most beautiful person i’ve ever laid my eyes on. you’re perfect!”
“...but you’re holding a fish i— y’know what, thank you... now can you throw it back in the water, please?”
➞ loves, and when i say loves i really mean it, when you wear your glasses, but he definitely will be cheeky and say, ‘oh, sorry, i didn’t know this was the library. i was looking for my very beautiful girlfriend... oh, that’s you? well you look a lil’ too gorgeous to be her’ but foreal, pls wear you glasses more often, he literally melts when you do
➞ he’s always telling you that he loves you; and when he’s in another country, expect photos and vids from him that look like those tinder fish-boys (idek if this’ll make sense to you) but he has the most beautiful smile a man could ever have and such a sincere paragraph of how much he misses and loves you to follow along with it, that it doesn’t even matter anymore that he looks like a dad
➞ a relationship that make the people around you, whether they’re strangers or not, go ‘they’re the main characters’ — to them you two were in your own beautiful world, and no one would ever dare to interfere with a love so magical and true
Kyupid hopes that you enjoyed your Dalgona Matchup Latte! Here’s the view from the top of the world with your out-of-this-world relationship with Nishinoya Yuu: he always does things that end up turning you as red as a tomato, but he doesn’t even intend to, mans is just naturally smooth... so you either malfunction or just straight up push him away; when he wants you to listen to his 3 AM thoughts/honestly just some weird shet he probably does all the time with you; when he tries to make you talk about how you’re feeling when he knows your ‘i’m fine’ reply is a straight up lie; and when he finally comes back from one of his trips around the world, just wanting you to be safe in his arms again.
Thanks very much for ordering — Kyupid hopes to see your cuteself again at the shop in the future! Have a magic-filled day ⁀➷
an: henlo, i hope you didn’t mind too much that i bombarded your dm’s with questions 😅 thank you so much for being patient with me!
i didn’t know what to do about the url thing, so this was what i resorted to in a short amount of time, i hope that’s okay with you. i almost lost your submission twice, huhu. also, is the gif working??? tumblr’s being a bitch again, so idk if it’s working and i’m freakin out.
btw, now i can’t stop being jelly over this ship like— this is too cute and i feel like this kind of relationship only exists in movies 😔

Todd Anderson, Blaze, Lena
[ask me about my muses] - accepting!
Todd!! Todd, from Dead Poets Society, is a sweet, soft, quiet boy whose life is upended when his parents pull him out of his regular school and stick him in an expensive private preparatory boy’s school for his final year. He’s already fading into obscurity - his older brother went to Welton Academy and thrived, to the point that the other boys attending know Todd by his connection to his older brother’s last name.
Todd’s content to think he’s unexceptional. He doesn’t believe he’s worth noticing or acknowledging in any way. But he thrives under the attention of his roommate, Neil, and their mutual friends, and when their English teacher, John Keating, dares to push Todd past his mental blockages and fears, Todd shows an incredible talent for spontaneous poetry.
I don’t ever get to write him, so I haven’t gotten the chance to develop him much, but I adore him and think he has immense potential for character growth!
I think playing him against Benjy might be fun! Todd would be fascinated by his art and grateful for peaceful silences, after being around rambunctious loud oafs of boys for a while.
Blaze is my answer to several friends having OC Brooklyn newsies haha! I wanted in on the fun, more characters of color, and also to write more girls - I’ve had a long, trying history of being afraid to write them because I don’t think people will pay attention to them :/
Blaze, whose name is Ishikawa Sute, grows up in a tremulous time in her main canon, where her family was ousted from New York City due to their ethnicity. She lost track of her parents in a busy crowd boarding the ship that they were emigrating on, and all she knows is that the boat left, and no matter how long she waited - for days - her parents didn’t come back. She was taken in by Spot Conlon (and has a strong bias toward @heartsunholy‘s Spot in particular because he’s a man of color and she feels safer with him; she also has a strong kinship with her Hotshot) and after a period of nervousness around the rough and tumble kids, she began to flourish.
She’s known for being very direct and assertive, clever with cards, and speedy as fuck. Her ultimate goal is to get to Japan and find her family, no matter what it takes.
Obviously I wanna play her against Crutchie, because duh! But I think she and Colin could be fun as well in an HP AU for her.
Lenaaaaa!! From The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants series, Lena Kaligaris is one of my OG muses from the first week I had my indie blog, and is absolutely one of my most criminally underused muses.
Lena grows up with three other girls from birth, all September births because their moms shared a pregnancy aerobics class - picture THAT shit. They’re best friends, sisters of the soul, really, and Lena is the eldest and most serious of them all. She’s Greek, the first generation of her family to be born in the United States, and has aspirations to be a painter.
The unfortunate thing about Lena is she is the most introverted person alive who has no idea how to make friends, because she was born with three of them, basically...but she is considered throughout the book to be one of the most strikingly beautiful people most people have ever seen, to the point that she intimidates the shit out of people. Even still, they all want to stare at her, and she’s so jaded against it that she does whatever she can to shut boys down the moment they breathe in her general direction.
All she wants is to be a painter in a quiet studio with no one else bothering her, honestly. She fits well into most any verse because of that - it’s just a matter of getting her to actually talk to you.
Good, kind, serious muses would do Lena well - but I also want to see her pulled out of her shell, whether she wants it or not - I’m not sure who that would suit of yours!! You’ll have to tell me!

Can i get a golden trio era ship please? I’m a girl, i’m 5’1 and i’m slytherin. my favorite class would be potions. I have really bright blue eyes. i have long medium brown hair. i’m an attention whore for sure, i’m pretty funny, witty, and i always have something to say. at some times i can be rather shy around new people though. i have a rbf. my names raegan which u can tell by my username lmfao. I have more of an alt girl / indie style. and can you include headcannons please? thank you!
I ship you with Ginny Weasley!
Everybody loves that slytherin x gryffindor thing. Also, I’m pretty sute you two would get along verry well, cause you’re, well, attention whores hahahahahaha.
A problem couple, for sure, a pair that nobody could beat
Always teasing
No matter what the discussion is, you always end up in kisses
Kisses, kisses and more kisses, she doesn't miss a chance to show you affection
Ginny has this protective personality that makes you feel safe
You would always leave goodies for her in the most unexpected places
By far, you are the most ardent fan of the gryffindor seeker
Let's face it, nobody was surprised when Ginny showed up dating a girl
She has always flirted with you since the fifth year
When you realized, you flirted back without a second thought
And it was after a Gryffindor victory against Ravenclaw that you demonstrated that the flirtations were real
You ran the entire Quidditch pitch and gave Ginny a kiss in front of everyone
She really doesn't like to see you hurt
Whenever someone from Gryffindor insults Slytherin, she ends up defending and saying that not all of you are bad
She's always here for you
You are always here for her
