Yume Aino & Zenos Galvus

Since Yume was encouraged by Zenos to teach herself Black Magic, Yume has become a fully self-taught Black Mage, while Zenos continues to use the skills of the Reaper, despite him not having access to an avatar anymore since their last battle in Ultima Thule. As their abilities complement each other in battle, they are now the ultimate battle couple. 🖤

Yup, both results fit each of my girls so well, with Hali always wanting to do the most good in the world as possible, regardless if it goes with any established laws and authority or not, whereas Yume has her own code of honor that she lives by, and especially lately now that she has Zenos, Yume acts in her own and in Zenos’ best interests. Yume has no trouble with killing others, but she won’t go out of her way to do so unless they are in her way or she feels that she has to.

I recently posted a headcanon of how Zenos encourages Yume to teach herself Thaumaturgy and Black Magic, so here is Yume’s canonical look as a Black Mage in 7.0 and the 7.x patches! Yume would finally let her hair down, both figuratively and literally speaking, as she will take her hair out of her signature ponytail and bow and just let her hair fall loose. Yume’s black magic is a perfect complement to Zenos’s reaper skills in battle, and together, they are a force to be reckoned with.
