This feels sort of like when porn blogs receive messages about what they think about the death penalty, except it's a seemingly out of left field ask about a ship I didn't even know existed on my horror whump general angst blog. I think you are quite lost, OP. Do you need directions back home?

Sooooo ummmmmmm this is something that's probably going to piss a lot of people off, but I feel like I really need to say it.
If you get a message from an account claiming to be a Palestinian fundraiser, it is a bot. It is a scam. You need to report & delete the message and encourage others to do the same.
I know because I get messages on this account DAILY. I have a very high follower count and I'm pretty active and I interact with my followers a lot, and apparently that all adds up to one big bot magnet.
Bots following and messaging this account was a MASSIVE problem before Tumblr fixed its new account policies. I used to spend literally hours blocking and reporting the hundreds of bots that I would get following me each day.
I learned a lot about bots and how to identify them. The easiest way is with no avatar, "untitled" in the blog description (BTW if your avatar is still set to default PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD change it because you run a substantial risk of being accidentally blocked & reported as a bot).
One of the dead give aways of a bot was what I call "word salad" names. Three seemingly random words strung together making no sense, always adjective, adjective or noun, noun. If you reported a lot of these bots, you'd notice the same words kept showing up.
Nowadays, I am bombarded with fundraiser requests and sometimes, they don't even bother to hide the fact that they're a bot. The avatar is default, the blog title is "untitled," and the blog name is a classic randomly-generated word salad.
However MOST of the requests I get come from at least semi-legit looking accounts. There are pictures, a name, a story. Never mind that I've gotten that message three times from different accounts.
Sometimes, they claim to be vetted, but the whole vetting system essentially adds up to "trust me bro." There is no way of guaranteeing that this account isn't just lying about being vetted, claiming to be vetted by a false person, or are using the identity of a real Palestinian to scam people.
Previously, I've seen a lot of people getting attacked for raising questions about these fundraisers and getting attacked for being racist or for harming Palestinian families in danger, like Tumblr isn't a website famous for its scams and the words "The Arkh Project" "All or Nothing" or "Miss Officer and Mr. Truffles" mean nothing to you.
I personally have been scammed by people claiming to be charities on Tumblr before, specifically, The Leelah Project which used the name of a trans teenager who died by suicide to swindle people out of their money.
Luckily, there are actual, respected charities out there you can give money to if you want to help the cause:
Palestinian Children's Relief Fund
Palestine Red Crescent Society
United Nations Relief Works Agency
Islamic Relief
World Central Kitchen
Médecins Sans Frontièrs
One of the hardest things to accept about the situation in Palestine is that realistically, there is very little that your average outsider can do to change it. However, these large, well-respected and trustworthy charities are out there doing the hard work to keep people alive, and should be where the donation money is going
These scam bots feed on people's naïvety and need to believe that they are making a difference, and even worse, feed on the fear that by ignoring them, it somehow makes you a racist doing direct harm to a refugee family, when in fact they are using the suffering of Palestinians to take away money from those in need.
As far as fundraisers that don't send out random asks for donations, I honestly don't know. You'll have to do the work yourself and approach with much caution.
Be careful out there.

How to spot a (heart wrenching sad cat) Charity Scam
So I've been get a lot of requests for money in my askbox lately, from users I have never seen before! Usually sad cats, sometimes gender affirming medical bills, a queer person being made homeless etc etc... and guess what? None of them are real! It's scammers who have learned how to work tumblr's userbase and prey on our general sense of community and charity.
Here it is, so sad! So tragic! But let's note a few things:
It's generic. They don't know me, I don't know them. it's addressed to 'friend', no use of nicknames or usernames.
Even the cat and the problem are generic 'little kitty' who has 'urgent needs'. This is not how real people talk, this is because this scam is being used over and over with different accounts a different 'cats'.
Praying (uh huh.)
Asking you to reply privately- This is so people don't spot the scam and point it out the mark and because if too many people posted replies to the same message it would beome really obvious that this is a scam. If they're looking for 'boosts' so badly, then why do they need you to reply privately?
Now that I'm suspicious, let's investigate.
Sent me an ask and then followed me! Sounds like they're just hitting up anyone and everyone, but even more likely they have a list they're working from.
(I get so many, I'm probably on a mail-out list a mile long, just being hit up for cash. Likely I fell for one of these once and got my name added to every scam list for miles, but oh well.)
So let's see if they're a bot or a real person!
The blog looks genuine enough, they've got a bio, a fandom etc. And it says they're an artist!
And of course there's that sad cat post, pinned right to the top, so I don't have to look any further through the blog for verification... Looks super legit, pics of the cat, pics of the bill... of course anyone can print out a bill and take a picture of it...
As I do scroll futher, it's full of reblogs making this look like an active user. So how can I tell it's not genuine?
Well, if they're an artist they probably post right? Doodles? Pictures? Let's have a look at their origional posts.
The fastest way to do this is by using an outside tool like Original Post Finder.
just type in the suspicious username and go...
Voila! As suspected, the only post this bot account has ever made is Sad Cat Post.
Confirmed: Scam. Do not give your money to these guys, it looks so real but they're just here to make you feel like a bad person for not handing over everything you can. Charity is wonderful, supporting friends is wonderful, but tbh save it for people you actually know irl/ mutuals you have an actual relationship with. Don't believe any rando who comes knocking!
Love and kisses, stay safe out there.

bad boys do it better
rated: teen | @steddieholidaydrabbles prompt: modern au tags: dating apps, innuendo, bad flirting read on ao3
✿
Eddie finally opens Tinder after downloading it in a fit of desperation.
He's tried everything but these stupid apps—bars and clubs and pottery classes and rock climbing—trying to find someone he can connect with.
But he's mostly found guys that string him along with whispered sweet nothings and half-promises they don't intend to follow through on.
So he makes his profile and then promptly fumbles and drops his phone because— no fucking way.
There's no way this is real life.
There's no fucking way the first guy to pop up is Steve fucking Harrington, his unfortunate and longest lasting crush in high school.
He picks up his phone and sees Steve's face staring back at him, unassuming, a bright, cheery smile on his face.
Steve, 28 2 miles away "Hope you like bad boys because I have it on dvd and vhs" Interests: baseball, basketball, live music, movies
He taps to get to the next photo and lets out a shaky breath—the shorts of what can only be his Halloween costume are so short, exposing hairy thighs that Eddie wants to sink his teeth into.
The next photo is a snapchat picture of him grinning wide, cradling what might be the world's ugliest dog, the text across the screen reading my nephew is so handsome 🤩🤩🤩.
The last is an obligatory shirtless mirror pic, not showing off washboard abs, but the soft, toned skin of his stomach.
He closes the app, sets his phone down, and breathes through his nose.
This can't be real, right? In what world would Steve be the first person in a sea of profiles in San Francisco of all places?
Eddie expected him to chase after Nancy Wheeler when she went to Boston, but he didn't stick around long enough in Hawkins to find out if they ever rekindled their will-they-won't-they relationship.
Maybe he's just visiting. Maybe he found his match and just forgot to delete Tinder. Because there's just no way Eddie has this kind of luck.
He opens up Instagram and searches for Steve and finds him right away because they're probably still Facebook friends.
He scrolls through his profile and deflates a little, because all of the pictures on Tinder are from his Instagram. Which means it's probably much more likely that someone is catfishing using Steve's pictures.
Because the Steve from high school wasn't into men. And he's hot enough for someone to use his pictures to scam people or whatever.
He opens up Tinder again and his thumb is swiping right before he thinks about what he's doing.
It's a match!
Okay, now he knows it's a catfish. Or maybe it's a bot.
There's no world in which Steve Harrington would swipe right on him in the twenty minutes it's been since he created his account.
He types a message to "Steve" saying so are you a bot or just a catfish?
He doesn't get a response right away, so he clicks out of the messages, looking at profiles of what are hopefully actual people he can connect with.
His phone buzzes when the message from Steve comes in.
Hi3 Eddiems, cl!ck th3 linkin my proffile to . achat I am waitin9
He rolls his eyes and goes back to perusing profiles. It's not like he thought it was really Ste-
His phone pings with another message and he clicks back into the chat immediately.
That was a joke. There's not even a link in my profile
Eddie's heart beats a little faster, his fingers typing out a response.
So a catfish then?
Why do you think I'm a catfish?????
Because I know the guy in those pictures and there's no way hes into men. That guy was a jock extraordinaire in high school and very straight
You're awfully judgey for someone who was so anti-conformity in high school. Whos to say I haven't changed?
Or like, learned new things about myself?
Eddie's breath stutters in his throat.
Also you didn't really know me since we never talked.
Okay, I mean. It's pretty easy to guess that I was counterculture in high school by looking at me. So I'm still on the fence about the catfish thing
How about we meet up then? So you can see me in all my nearing-30 glory
And watch bad boys on dvd and vhs with you?
Dude, I am not inviting you to my house on the first date
That's a third date kind of thing
Oh yeah? Is it a back-to-back feature? We start with the vhs then move to dvd?
He can't believe he's entertaining this. A catfish wouldn't offer to meet up unless they thought Eddie wouldn't call their bluff. He kind of wants to see where this is going.
No see, we start with the dvd playing in the living room and then when we inevitably start being bad boys🥵 in the middle of the movie, we can pick it back up on vhs in my room later
To be clear, we stop the movie, right? I'm not sure bad boys has a soundtrack meant for the kind of activities we'd be doing
Oh for sure. I'd even put on my "let's get it on" playlist. As a treat.
Eddie can't help but grin. Even if this guy is a catfish, this is maybe the most fun he's had talking to someone in a long time.
Are you serious about meeting up?
Uh yeah, I can't have you thinking I'm a catfish forever
What's your favorite brewery?
Cellarmaker
Wanna do tomorrow afternoon at like 2 when it's not busy?
That sounds perfect
He isn't sure if it's really Steve or if he's going to be met with someone else or stood up, but at least he'll get to drown his sorrows if it doesn't work out.
Well—he's unsure until he gets the 'stharrington started following you' notification on Instagram a few minutes later.
He screams into his pillow so loud his neighbor thumps on the wall.

Y’all I think another fanfic scam is going around.
[img id: a message from account avawhite inviting me to sign up for ifanfiction.com]
ifanfiction.com is a real site, but when you investigate it, there is a home page stating that their most popular genres are BTS, Werewolf, Billionaire, and Mafia using AI art as cover photos for the genre. It claims that there are 100,000+ stories published with 100 million readers. However if you try to click on any of the genre title cards, it doesn't take you to any actual writing. They also claim to have "professional editors", "fanfic community", and "work respected". The logo they used for fanfic community was a head with AI written inside it which does not inspire confidence.
Going to the authors page, there are a few paragraphs about what the benefits of writing for this site which sound like they were written by AI. They say you can also publish original fiction on that site and they will give you “fixed royalty share and bonuses from the income”. They make sure to say that all fanfic is free on their site, but later claim that users are paying to use the site. The only way to sign up as a writer is to either email the address in the screenshot above, or if you go to author.ifanfiction.com. However upon poking around the author page, there was no TOS. There also does not seem to be a sign up page to be a reader.
I followed the link to their facebook group, and found that there is only one member who is the admin. There are no posts, and the group was not created until December 14, 2023.
I investigated the tumblr that messaged me. This is what their blog page looks like.
As you can see it is blank like a bot page is. I also checked out their likes. There were only two and both were fic collection posts. They follow 8 people, 7 of whom have updated in the last day and the other updated a month ago. So it’s clear that they are active accounts which is likely how they were followed.
All of this seems really sketchy. I make no claims as to what the site is actually attempting to do, but it seems like it’s a combo of email phishing and AI scraping. I would not recommend trusting this site with any of your work, fanfic or original.

Public Service Announcement
Beware Of This SCAM
There is a new(ish?) scam going through fandom spaces. I've been meaning to speak up about my experience here on tumblr, and today I discovered the scam is being pulled via AO3, ff.net and certainly other fan spaces.
It's particularly interesting here on tumblr because they chat with you. Either via bot, or someone with a script and a rough grasp of english.
This was the second one I received. The first was odd, but that one and this had what looked like (read probably stolen) original work on their tumblr. The first one I engaged with about "my OCs" and the bot was more convincing when I rambled about past OCs. This one had, you can see, some odd responses, but at least had put some effort into their page. (Though it's changed.)
Both wanted me to commission art of my OCs from them. This is the essence of the scam. "Do you have OCs? Pay me to draw them!"
I believe, in this case, I got on their radar by liking Hellaverse art.
This one I poked at deliberately to see if it was a human scam or a bot. I wanted to see what it would do.
Each time, outside of ignoring the messages, it was saying I'm broke that it shut down. Although, hilariously, this last time, it tried again after a week.
Though it targeted me through the Hellaverse fandoms, it is in no way restricted to them.
This is the image recently posted to reddit. Note the focus on drawing your OCs. I imagine this scam looks a little different everywhere, but the same theme pops up.
As one commenter noted, for supposedly being enamoured of the author's OC, the message doesn't include a single detail.
Again, this has been a Public Service Announcement.
Watch out for this sort of behaviour in any of your fandom spaces.
Stay safe, folks!

Matt’s Teammate 💙 pt. 2
After long-distance texting and FaceTime calls everyday for months Matt finally makes plans to see you in person again. [pt. 1 here!]
matthew sturniolo x fem! reader
warnings: cursing, slight make-out sesh (v romantic), just fluffy asf
author’s note: sorry this took longer to write than expected but enjoyyyyyy
this pic of Matt is so bf coded I can’t even
Y/C/N = your city’s name [from tour] even though we’re gonna pretend you live somewhere cold and snowy to match this pic (sorry)
***four months ago***
I had fun tonight, Y/N. You seem like a really great girl, and I would love to see you again if I can.
You stared at your phone in disbelief, and had to check his account ten times over to make sure it wasn’t a bot or a scam because you genuinely could not fathom that Matt Sturniolo just replied with THAT. Simply liking the message would have sent you through the roof, but your heart is soaring.
You carefully and deliberately craft a response not wanting to blow your one and only chance at possibly being with Matt again. You decide to keep it simple and sweet as to not come off too overbearing (even though internally you were completely freaking tf out).
Of course! Next time you’re in Y/C/N shoot me a text 🥰
…and with that you typed your phone number into the message and hit send.
Moments later your phone starts ringing with a FaceTime notification from an unknown number. Guessing it might be Matt you quickly fix your hair in front of your face, put on lip gloss, and adjust your boobs to look perfect in your bra to try and look your best. You slide the bar to answer the call, and Matt’s glorious face illuminates your screen.
Holy fuck holy fuck holy fuck. You thought to yourself as you kept a calm smile on your face despite your heart trying to escape your chest. Matt smiles when he sees you on his screen.
“Hey, sorry to call you randomly but I tend to sound a lot better in person than I do over text.” He laughs. “And,” he hesitates, “I honestly wanted to see your pretty face again.”
Your breath hitches in your throat at his words. You try and collect the million thoughts flooding your brain right now to get a sentence out.
“I— uh… Yeah I,” you croaked out. You were able to keep your composure better earlier on stage, but this was completely different and VERY unexpected. Matt laughs lightly at your obvious nerves.
“Take your time. Sorry, I’m sure I caught you completely off guard.” He teases, but you can also see the sincerity in his eyes and know that he’s being patient for you.
You take a deep breath in through your nose, and out through your mouth.
“Okay…” you say letting out what was a mixture of a laugh and an exasperated sigh. “Hi!” You say cheerfully.
“Hi.” Matt responds sweetly. God, the way he was looking at you made you want to throw the phone across the room.
“You’re right, I totally wasn’t expecting any of this… do you do this often? Like, call fans and stuff?” You said a bit unsure. Your heart was telling you that Matt maybe genuinely liked you, but your brain also knows that he’s a dude who could just be looking for a hookup in each state while he travels. Matt furrows his brow at your question before looking surprised.
“Oh OH no no no no no it’s not like that. I swear. Like- I mean… not like I just want to fuck or anything. Um, I like you and I saw your DM and— not to be like weird calling you or anything but…” Matt stops his frantic run-on before pausing and taking a breath. “No, I don’t do this often. I don’t do this ever actually.”
“I think you just made that pretty obvious.” You both laugh. “Sooooo,” you say in a sing-song voice “you like me?”
Matt brings his hand up to rub his eyes as a small smirk creeps on his lips and he nods his head gently.
“Yeah… yeah I really do. I thought I’d never be able to do anything about it, thinking I’d never see you again, but my brothers convinced me otherwise. When I found your instagram earlier I decided to take a chance hoping I wouldn’t regret it.” He says, and you can’t help but blush.
“Why would you regret it?” You ask.
“Well, not knowing if you were already seeing someone, or just weren’t interested. Mainly though because it would be tough to really see anyone given my career.” A tone of sadness lingers in his voice. It’s clear that his words are true, and that he definitely has feelings for you. Clearly, you had feelings for him too and would love to get to know him more, but you also knew that dating him would be quite challenging at times.
“Maybe we didn’t win tonight, but we still do make a pretty good team. I trust we can work something out because I’d love nothing more than to see you again.” You say smiling, and with that Matt smiles in return.
“I don’t know… I’m really starting to feel like a winner right now!” Matt jokes making you scoff and roll your eyes at his cuteness.
***present day***
You often reflet back to the night you met Matt on stage given that that was the first and last time you had seen him in person talking, hugging, laughing. These past four months you have enjoyed every text, every phone call, every FaceTime from him as you stayed in close touch— talking every single day. You had grown to love and admire Matt through a screen since the beginning, but this time was much much different. Now, you two had a genuine, deep, emotional connection, and you were no longer just a fan watching him through a screen. You meant something to him. The two of you often talked and fantasized about your next meeting, but had no real plans of that actually happening. You were in school, and he had YouTube and his career to focus on. Finding time in your schedule to visit each other was difficult, but both of you were hoping to work something out soon.
***
You snuggled up on your cozy apartment couch watching the latest triplet video on your tv screen. You subconsciously had your attention on Matt the entire video. You had to keep rewinding the video because you missed nearly everything they were saying as you kept wandering off into day dreams about him, wishing he was sitting there next to you, arms wrapped around you. You’re pulled out of your daydream when your phone dings.
Hi beautiful sorry it took me so long to respond we were recording a podcast.
No worries ☺️ can we FaceTime?
Sure, but can you do me a favor first?
You’re curious as to know what on earth kind of favor you could possibly do for Matt.
Of course
You replied and anxiously awaited his answer as you saw the three moving dots across the bottom of the screen indicating he was responding.
Can you open the door?
What? You were incredibly confused. Not a second later you hear a knock at your door. You’re thinking maybe he had flowers delivered again, but it was almost 10pm so that wouldn’t make sense. You get up and walk to your door opening it hesitantly and slowly. Your door was cracked about halfway open before a familiar face pops into view.
“Hi!” Matt giggles excitedly.
“OH MY GOSH!” You scream, throwing the door all the way open and jumping into his arms. He wraps his arms around you tightly as you burry your face into his neck.
Matt’s POV:
I hug Y/N tight, smelling her sweet hair and loving the feeling of her wrapped up in my arms, something I had been dreaming about for months.
Chris and Nick were both focusing on individual personal projects, and since we pre-filmed some content I finally had the time to visit Y/N. As Thanksgiving is approaching, and she’ll have some days off from school, the timing couldn’t have been better. I previously had Chris send her some exclusive Fresh Love apparel, but she has no idea I saved her address from her shipping info. I booked a very expensive last minute flight out to see her, but even just hugging her now I know it was worth every dime.
I began to rock Y/N back in forth in my arms, not wanting to release the hug, but the cold autumn air was making me shake even through my hoodie and jacket.
“Can I come in? I’m chilly.” I say into her hair.
“Yes, yes come in!” She says pulling away from the hug and eagerly dragging me inside by my arm. I could feel my jaw tightening from smiling so much. She is absolutely adorable.
I glance around her apartment that I had seen a million times over on FaceTime, but never in person. She had a bookshelf with a framed photo of us on stage together at the show we met at, and it warmed my heart so much. I genuinely felt like the luckiest guy in the world being in the presence of such a beautiful girl that I could call mine.
I hasn’t even finished dropping my backpack off my shoulders all the way before Y/N engulfed me in another hug as she dug her face so deep into my chest I wasn’t sure how she was even able to breathe.
“I’ve missed you.” I hear her soft, muffled voice say into my chest.
“I’ve missed you more beautiful.” I say pulling back and planting a gentle kiss on her forehead. She pulls away and our eyes lock. Do I kiss her? Is now the best time? I’ve imagined it in my head, but now that it’s actually happening I am completely unsure of what to do. She takes a deep breath in and interjects,
“Umm. So what do you want to do first?” She asks kindly, and I laugh.
“That’s it? No questions about how I got here or how long I’m staying?” I question her.
“Oh forget that you can tell me later. I don’t want to waste a single second with you— after all we’ve planned to do so much together.” She says. Every text, every call, we talk about what we would love to do together. Nothing intimate, but just dates we’d love to go on, movies we want to show one another, stuff like that. Anytime I find a cute date spot in LA I write it down in my phone notes hoping that I can take her to all of those places someday.
“I don’t know it’s late now and I’m pretty tired. I was so excited on the plane ride over I didn’t sleep a wink.” I say, and she gives me a soft smille. “Can I—um. Can I cuddle you, Y/N?” I say shyly and her smile grows.
I follow her as she walks into her bedroom and swipes all her stuffed animals onto the floor to give us room. She looks at me, her cheeks blushing pink as she pats a spot on the bed for me. We both climb onto the bed next to one another, and I extend my arm out for her to lay her head on my chest. She moves her body closer to mine as her body clings to my side. She wraps one arm under me with the other resting on my stomach as her hand gently caresses my chest. Our legs entangle into one another and she drapes her thigh across mine. I play with her hair and look down as her eyes close softly, fully enveloped in my embrace, taking in the moment. I dip my head down so it’s resting on top of hers.
We stayed like this, silent, for a while.
It wasn’t an awkward silence, but it was quite peaceful. It was the type of silence where you’re just enjoying the moment savoring what life has to offer.
After a while I start to feel her slightly shifting. She moves to look up at me and we smile, locking eyes.
“I’m so comfy, and as much as I want to talk your ear off I’m actually really enjoying this.” She says softly.
“Me too. How about we go to sleep now, and we can get an early start to our day tomorrow, yeah?” I suggest and she nods her head.
She looks so unbelievably beautiful in this moment. Her eyes twinkle from the light of the lamp on her nightstand, her soft skin still slightly blushing, her pink lips parted ever so slightly. I want to kiss those lips so god damn bad.
My hand moves from her waist to the side of her face gently swiping my thumb across her cheek. This caused her eyes to flicker from mine down to my lips, and with that I pulled her in closer and placed my lips on hers. It was a quick kiss, but soft and gentle. She pulls me back in and our lips once again meet, this time for a deeper kiss, full of passion and want. We kept kissing like this, and I move my arms back to her waist to pull her up across my lap as she straddles me.
She pulls back from the kiss, and I wish I could capture what I see in front of me to keep this moment forever. She had one hand on my chest to balance herself, and the other was playing with the hair on the back of my head. Her eyes glanced down at me, looking into mine, and her reddened lips curled up in to the cutest smile. She was breathtaking, and I knew then that I was completely devoted to her.
“So… regret your decision to message me?” She asks teasingly making me let out a small laugh. I stare deep into her eyes as I respond.
“Not in the slightest.”

This is definitely not my best work and it’s super short so I apologize. 😣

Ok, so I got an ask for mutual aid. Of course, it's human to want to help someone in need, even if all you can do is reblog their post. But you also don't want to be scammed, or help spread a scam. So you look for clues, or you only reblog your mutuals' aid posts because you at least know they're *real*, or you don't reblog aid posts at all.
So, what are the tells? (I'm not an expert, this is just what I've learned through osmosis.)
Do they follow/interact with you, outside of the mutual aid request?
Is their username weirdly generic?
Does the blog look like a real tumblr user, and not just someone who made a tumblr to ask for aid? How old is it? Is it involved in any fandoms? Does it seem staged?
Does their aid ask and needs description make sense? Is it overly vague, or bogged down with unneeded details?
If you quote-search the body of their aid ask, do you get any similar hits for scams on other sites or under other names?
Does the account for donations look legit?
What do you find when you reverse image search?
So, having received an ask that sounded very much like someone whose mutual aid I would want to support if they're real, but already having two red flags from the jump (not following me and not in my notifications, weird wording and grammar on ask), I endeavored to suss them out.
Screencaps of my adventure under the cut.
Like someone else has said, please don't go harrass this blog. Even if it's a scam, at some point there's a person behind that screen.
So here's the ask.
Red flags: they don't follow me, I don't know them, the ask is long, the grammar and punctuation are bad, word choices are odd or misspelled. These don't mean it's automatically fake, but it looks more like a weird AI than someone using google translate to communicate in English.
So I check their blog.
Their pinned post is this (click to read, it's a longass pic):
I don't take any links yet.
I take a block of their post and check it in google; all I get are snapshots of tumblr reblogs for their aid post. I click the "buy me a coffee" link, and it looks...idk, fine I guess. There's a tumblr logo, but clicking it seems to do nothing. (I'm on mobile)
A quick search of their name on tumblr gives me 2 posts mentioning them spamming this same message to people.
I read the one with the readmore linked here
After reading wannursyafiqah74's post about it, I got on my laptop and went back to casualdonutfire.
Mostly random reblogs; cats and other random reblogs of mostly pics, many with comments that could've/should've been tags, and no actual tags whatsoever. Like set dressing that says, "See? I'm a real person! I'm leaving comments about my reblogs that show I'm not a bot! I interact! I know what I'm I'm reblogging!"
It gives me a creepy vibe. I try google again to see if I can find their presence elsewhere on tumblr. The returns are still all snapshots of their mutual aid post. I open their archive. Ok, their tumblr has archive on...?
There are no fandom-esque posts until the very first reblog, a comment on One Piece fanart on October 18, 2023.
Their first post about needing aid was on November 7, 2023. Nearly the same wording as their pinned post, except they don't mention having a child. Zero specifics on what amount is needed for what or a timeline or anything. Not even anything about Christmas coming up. Tagged generously for trans surgery and other visibility words.
Oh. AND. The buymeacoffee is different. Adela, not Adella.
Then their next post for aid is fresh on January 11, 2024; nearly the same wording, except now there's a daughter and a birthday -- no date for the birthday, though, is there?!
[reblog linked here] If you go to their January 12th reblog and click on the "video proof," it's an audio-only black screen upload to imgur, with no identifying info for what's going on other than what they describe (and it doesn't really sound like what they describe; it sounds like a kid ready for christmas but not disappointed, like idk what more you're supposed to get out of it)
Then I clicked on their buymeacoffee link and noticed something. When I hovered my mouse over the tumblr symbol under their blurb, the link embedded there showed up at the bottom of my screen. And it was NOT casualdonutfire.
It was deepeagletimetravel. And, of course, it's a nuked tumblr. Hence doing NOTHING for me on mobile.
So I went to google again!
And lo, what do I find in those lurking reblogs?
ANOTHER MUTUAL AID POST IN EVERYONE'S REBLOGS. WITH A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT PERSONA AND STORY. BUT THE SAME WALL OF TEXT + BAD PUNCTUATION STYLE
Using a stock photo for their initial "bio" that seems awfully misleading when you don't say it's a stock photo.
And with stolen/uncredited art by thetransformistress as a thank you.
And, of course, the buymeacoffee page it linked for Ameera (buymeacoffee.com/AmeeradelzC) is blank. 👀 Totallynormal, nothing to see here.
But this makes me think. I go back to that Nov 7 casualdonutfire post, with their first buymeacoffee link to "Adela" (buymeacoffee.com/adelladomil)--
and what do ya know, the tumblr that opens is casualdonutfire!
So did they forget they made an adela account, and change their ameera buymeacoffee account to adella for their new post, forgetting to change the deepeagletimetravel tumblr name?! 🤷♀️

Not orv related but kinda new to Tumblr so like what is the behaviour 101 on Tumblr , can I get a few tips , i desperately wanna interact but idk
Okay, I knew I would get something like this. You're already doing pretty well, in that you have a profile pic and have figured out the ask function, so good job.
Orphiclovers’ guide to Tumblr 101:
1.The number one crucial step that EVERYONE should do, even if you don’t care about the rest. CHANGE YOUR PROFILE PIC to ANYTHING that's not the default one (Though not your face. We don’t generally do that here.) The reason to do this is because it’s almost impossible to tell apart a just created blog from a porn bot. If you haven’t encountered one yet, you will. They're a big thing on tumblr, a completely blank blog created by a bot (sometimes with an attractive woman as the profile pic) that follows you and and sends you ‘hot singles in your area’ type scam messages. If you get one, don’t click any links! Under the message there will be a prompt saying ‘mark this as spam?’ click that and tumblr will automatically report and block the blog. Some people with huge bot infestations automatically block any blank blog to be safe, and you don’t want that accidentally happening to you, so CHANGE YOUR PROFILE PIC!
2. The other essential blog customization thing is go to Blog Settings>turn off ‘share posts you like’ and ‘share the tumblrs you’re following’. This will hide your likes and the people you follow from every other user. Basically everyone turns this off to have privacy. Otherwise noisy fucks like me can come to your blog and look at all that.
3. You ALSO need to go to Settings>Dashboard>scroll to Prefrences> disable ‘Best Stuff First.’ Having your dashboard (that’s what we call the “Following” tab on Home where you see all the posts) be in chronological order is objectively the best way to be on Tumblr. This is the one social media that doesn’t shove the algorithm down your throat, enjoy it to the fullest. I have never in my life clicked on the ‘Explore’ tab except by accident, and the ‘For You’ tab is also controversial. I don’t recommend it. You can learn to use tumblr with no algorithms and you will feel better.
4. Okay, but there’s like two posts on my dashboard, what do I do? You need to follow people, friend. Go to the search bar and enter a tag for a fandom or character you like. That’s ‘#kim dokja’ or ‘#honkai star rail’ - unlike instagram, you can put spaces between words. It’s not case sensitive, so #Kim Dokja #kim dokja and #KIM DOKJA is all the same to tumblr. I recommend going in tags and not just ‘kim dokja’ because tumblr’s search system is often wonky.
5. Now, scroll through the posts and follow the blogs. That’s it. Now their new posts will show up at the top of your dashboard. Currently, I follow 119 blogs and that’s a pretty decent number. I get new posts every couple of minutes, and if there are no new posts I exit the app. No endless doomscrolling. Also, all the people I follow actually post stuff I want to see.
6. You mentioned wanting to make friends and that brings me to my next tip: Reblog. Reblog, reblog, reblog. Every post you want to click ‘like’ on you should reblog instead. Everytime you want to comment you should reblog instead (and put the comment in the tags).
7. This will put their post on your blog. Most of the posts you see on your dashboard are posts the people you follow have reblogged. It’s hard to wrap your head around, but it’s essential tumblr stuff so I will try to explain it in detail.
Reblogging etiquette
8. Blank reblogs are fine.
9. If you want to say something like ‘good art!!’ or ‘wow I love this theory so much’ put that in the tags of your reblog. The original poster will see the tags you have added, and also anyone who follows you will see the post + your tags. But if they reblog a post from you, your tags don’t come with unless they decide to manually copy them (which people don’t usually do unless they want to respond to something you said in the tags. Then they will copy the tags and put <- prev as in ‘previous’ and respond to them. This is like a whispered conversation you have on op’s post but they will still be able to see all of it so be mindful.) Some people also use the tag system to organize their blogs.
For example, if you reblog art of kim dokja, in the tags you can put ‘#wowowow I’m drooling thank you op, #kim dokja, #orv, #orv fanart’. Theoretically now when you or anyone else goes to your blog’s search function can search #orv fanart and see all the original posts you have made and the stuff you have reblogged with the tag #orv fanart.
Now I will address some common concerns people have before reblogging. “Am I reblogging too many posts in a row??? Won’t the people who follow me get annoyed???” No, they will not 99% of the time. And if they do, they can unfollow you. But okay, if you’re worried about this you can put your reblogs in a queue. Here’s how tumblr themselves describe it: ‘The queue lets you stagger posts over a period of hours or days. It's an easy way to keep your blog active and consistent.’ Basically if you tell it to it will automatically post the stuff you can put in the queue every hour or 15 minutes or whatever you want the interval to be. Check it out.
“Won’t reblogging posts bury my own posts and prevent them from being seen???” No. All the posts you reblog are probably long buried in the OP’s blog too. But as long as they get passed around in reblogs they will get new eyes on them, forever. Also, you can reblog your own posts if you want them put on your followers dash again (usually tagging this as #srb or #self reblog). They will also still be in the tags you put on them originally. Myself, I tag all my posts as #my posts or #my art so anyone visiting my blog can easily check for those specifically (though I don’t know if anyone does…lol. Lmk.)
“Okay, but I have so many different interests, won’t people hate seeing random reblogged posts about stuff they’re not interested in?” They can deal or unfollow you. But okay, some people create ‘sideblogs’ for every fandom they’re in. This functions as almost a fully fledged seperate blog. For example, you can’t easily tell if a blog you follow is a main one or a sideblog, or what their main blog is (unless they tell you). You only can’t like or follow or send an ask from a sideblog.
In general you don’t add stuff to the text part of a reblog unless you have something significant to add and/or are mutuals with the OP. Mutuals is when you both follow each other. I’m guessing you’re asking me how to get people to follow you back and to that I say idk man. Make posts and talk to them in reblogs and it will naturally happen.
Also, asks are fun, send people asks (and enable them in setting on your own blog.)
10. Also, give your blog a description and a title. It’s just nice customization. The title can be a quote you like and the description anything you want to tell someone about yourself. Look at how other blogs do it. I think nickname/pronouns/list of fandoms is pretty standard.
Let me know if you want to ask anything else :)

Do y'all not realize that yeah, Palestinian users on here are indeed using copied and pasted prompts out of convenience and ease since english is not their first language? Do you realise how taxing it is to have to craft out personal messages trying to get people to understand your situation and beg for your life in a language they'll understand cause otherwise you'll be dismissed? Especially now that more time has passed with very little if not any relief and it's getting harder and more time consuming to be messaging people personally and with the limitations of their current communication resources, being brief in such a way is understandable? Stop taking every fucking opportunity available to assume that any repetition of phrasing and messaging is a bot or a scammer.
Secondly there are a lot of people that have more than one or even two accounts as backups given how increasingly targeted Gazan users are by tumblr and people more than happy to flag them as spam for their own agendas (Zionists) or plain racism. Not to mention having multiple blogs also expands the reach of a fund by its reblogging of these fundraiser on more than one account, so don't also assume it's a scam for these reasons.
And as I've said before, currency outside of dollars and euros, particularly kronas is also not grounds for suspicion given many Palestinians have family in Sweden. There exists a Palestinian diaspora, there are Palestinians living in other parts of SWANA, Europe, and South America having to help run accounts for family who are literally doing what they can to survive a fucking genocide and some of them are running them with very little contact with said family in Gaza hoping they can scrounge up enough money to get their family to safety.
And yes, sometimes certain blogs get mistakenly tagged as having verified a campaign on some of them when they have repeatedly stated they are not and have not ever verified fundraisers but that's understandable on some part to Palestinian users when some of the urls they tag have a reputation for reblogging verified fundraisers, as long as someone else on their list of verification has confirmed verification that is a known verifyer and you can find proof, I think you're good. But as el-shab-hussein has repeatedly stated: verification doesnt mean its without its failing and you should use verification as a guide not as a certification, use your common sense.
There are other verification groups across platforms you can cross check with as well, do some work and some research on those platforms. Outside of the well known one like Operation Olive Branch and Gaza Funds you'll find other verification teams on say Instagram like pali.pals, butterflyeffect.project, strawberryseedcollective, watermelonbrigades, etc. Its truly so simple to find more and more teams. And if you're still so hung up on where your money is going, there are many non profits groups and collectives aiding Palestinians on the ground like Fed Up 4 Palestine, Gaza Kinder Relief, Watermelon Relief, Gaza_woundcare and so so many others.
Stop using the "validity" of these fundraisers as an excuse to look away, let alone to be hateful and racist. And when you're held accountable don't run with your fucking tails between your legs with half assed "apologies" that are frankly adding more insult to injury. Those of you who have now fostered this environment of white negligence and callousness owe not only apologies, but compensation to the families whose lives you have literally put at risk with your racism. If you had actually cared you would have done so much more to put money where it could help instead of start a fucking smear campaign that's had such horrific impact on the lives of Palestinians.

Heads up about possible scams asking for donations (namely pretending to be Palastenian refugees in need of financial aid)
Sorry but I do not take asks asking for donations.
This is due to it both being a possible spam risk and or a fraudulent campaign that I myself am not able to vet as being legit.
Sorry if this is coming off a little rude but I’m just a very cautious person and I really don’t want people to lose money over what they think is a good cause which is where I’m going to say.
As you may know as of recent times, there seemingly has been an influx of posts being sent out asking for donations namely because of the war in Israel/Palastine.
Wars are a horrible thing and because of them we will get people who will be in need of financial aid which is understandable. BUT there are also scammers out there looking to take advantage of people’s willingness to help out those in need.
These scams are not uncommon on tumblr from what I understand even before the Gaza War broke out (namely those pretending to be a person who’s disabled and doesn’t have the fund to pay for medication they need)
So if you do end up receiving a message from a random account asking to reblog/or just as an ask, please don’t just blindly post it and tag people. DO SOME RESEARCH FIRST PLEASE!
Check other social media platforms to see if it is a legit campaign as scammers are known to steal campaigns and pretend to be that person
Look at the person’s blog. If it’s brand new and the only thing that they have posted is a donation request then it is likely a scam. I would also recommend being on the lookout if they reblogged anything from a pr0n bot since I saw a post where that did happen. Also check their likes/followers if you need to.
Using an oddly copy/paste format for their messages with similar phrasing to other known scam blogs. Scammers often reuse a lot of the same script for their scams
USE REVERSE IMAGE SEARCH!!! I cannot stress this enough as STEALING PHOTOS IS VERY COMMON TATIC MANY SCAMMERS DO!!
Use the tag #donation scam here on tumblr and scroll through if you need to. I’ve seen a few blogs that compiling together lists of known alias that scammers are using and the like.
If any of these above things come up regarding a donation request or if you feel suspious yourself then go ahead and block/report that blog or delete the massage they sent to you.
This world is filled with many kind people who want to help those in need but you guys need to know that there are scammers out there willing to take advantage of that, so please be vigilant and keep an eye open whenever you do get asked for one of these

Hey! Guess who's back. Im so sorry to come back on this note but I just got scammed by someone from here on discord. It was 2+ years since I added them and I don't remember which account it was on here, but here's the receipts on discord.
(Edit: yeah found out it's not that person's fault, they fell for it too and their account is being used like my old one is, so yeah entirely scammer in these texts.)
I was stupid and actually went through with adding this "discord lawyer" and changing over my email. I was already occupied with my day, but nonetheless, I fell for it. Just figured I should tell people as this person was originally from Tumblr and may have added other people from here with the same account.
If this scammer dms you on discord and says they spam reported your account, and asks you to add a random bot to solve it, don't be like me, and ignore them.
It was an account on the tickle community so I figured I would warn the tickle community in particular. I'm so glad the scammer told me to screenshot the messages :)
More under the cut
I was just having a moment, and didnt realize it was a scam until they started asking for banking information. I figured I should warn other people. Don't be like me, just a reminder to look over everything before you start messing with emails and stuff. I am fine because I made a new email.
Oh btw the "bot" started getting aggravated and started threatening me with a $1000 dollar fine and/or 30 years (more than a life sentence in canada) which I immediately became suspicious since it was a simple discord debate and I had nothing to do with the case. It stressed me out all day, and I just don't want anyone else to fall for it like I have.
Ps if you want the bot discord dms my tumblr dms are open, I don't mind sharing them if you're curious or want proof. Just know that it may take some time, tumbler is not my main priority right now.
Update: the scammer is now using my old account to try and scam people I had added. So yeah I'm pretty sure that person fell for it, and had their account taken. It's not that person's fault, but that account is definitely a scam account now. So is my old one.
Update update: yeah 100% not that person's fault, but definitely watch out, it seems to be scammers mating season.
Thank you for your time, have a good day, and be smart on the internet.

Artists beware of scammer "calebarte"
So initially, this Tumblr (bot) approached asking if they could use my works in a print piece, that they would credit and pay me. In my attempt to respond, my crappy phone did truly lag and block them by accident, however I unblocked immediately and responded as such.
The messages are clearly automated, seeing as this is a bot account as I suspected, but I want to warn anyone, especially those who are just starting out and haven't learned to recognize art scams yet, to not interact with this bot!!
For those who do make art and haven't ever had experience, or much experience overall, with scammers and bots, here are some tips to detect one:
The "commissioner" will usually say they want free art but will give you publicity as payment. Do not fall for this. Your art deserves to be paid for with actual money.
The "commissioner" may provide automated responses. Dead giveaway to tell how they're automated is when the response to what you've said is entirely irrelevant, or it completely ignores what you've said in previous messages.
The "commissioner" might say they're from a big name company (Marvel, DreamWorks, Pixar, etc.) and they are looking for your free art, but your name will be in the credits. This is false, the person is not from said company ever, and it goes back to the first point. Charge!! Your!! Artwork!!!
The "commissioner" may claim that they have a client they are reaching out to you on behalf of, and this client will be the one who pays you. They won't provide a client name, any indication that this client exists as a real person, or say who they themself are to reach out on behalf of said client. There's no client, and this person is simply trying to steal your artwork.
The "commissioner" will likely not specify HOW you'll receive payment. They will just keep saying you'll get paid. You won't. Ever.
The "commissioner" will say you'll be paid in full only when the art is finished. This is also a lie. To be safe. Ask for half payment upfront, and half at the end, or just for any sort of down payment before you complete the piece.
So be careful out there, artists!! These scams have been around as long as the internet has existed, and it is essential you know how to detect scammers, bots, and the likes, so you can avoid them. If you come across one, report and block immediately. Do not interact further.

Hiyaaaa! I'm sorry to interrupt you for a while, I know this might come strange and you might hate for this but I just wanna ask for some help if you can maybe possibly take a look the post I pinned for my lil cat, we’re in desperate need of help so a reblog/boost might definitely help us a ton! I hope you’d consider but if not, its okay and I do understand! Wishing you good health and stay safe! Pls send me a msg for a response or answer the ask privately if you could. 🙏
Reasons why I'm suspicious this is a scam:
Most people would see that this blog has a profile picture, a realistic-sounding bio, and looks like an active blog. Doesn't look like those porn bots! Must be real, right?
1)You can't access this tumblr's archive, but if you scroll back, you'll realize this blog was created today. Most of those reblogs- 50 of them- were reblogged from 3:34 to 3:38am. That's 50 reblogs in the span of 4 minutes.
2) All of those reblogs are unrelated to one another, and I'm pretty certain most are pulled from tumblr's recommended section and used to fill up the blog and make it seem active.
2) This person is not following me, and it seems they're sending this message out to a bunch of random people.
3) Rather than a Gofundme, they're asking for direct donations through Paypal Friends and Family (which has no protections or refunds if you get scammed).
4) Scams like this are on the rise, since younger generations aren't falling for car payment or mortgage scams. More and more people have been receiving similar asks in their inbox, using pleas like this (injured pets and animals) to garner sympathy.
Could this be real and not a scam? Sure, maybe. Maybe I'm overreacting. You could say it's better to give people the benefit of the doubt.
However, the main reason I bothered to type all this out is because I would NOT send anyone money through Paypal Friends and Family UNLESS they're someone you know very well and trust. It's called Friends and Family for a reason. Just be careful out there, randos on the internet lie all the time.

╰─▸ ❝ HE'S AT YOUR WINDOW
𖦹 tags black!femafabreader, obsessive!leon, stalking, leon is very ooc, dead dove do not eat, mentions of emotional abuse
𖦹 synopsis to sum this up, completely based on the “check your window, he’s at your window” trend on tiktok
𖦹 word count 1.1k
𖦹 a/n this will be the start to a series, how long? no fuckin idea, but enjoy this first part [story below the cut]
“Think the rain’s gonna let up?” Your close friend Vee asks as she looks out the window. It’s pouring outside of the store, causing the outside to have a nice blue hue to it. “I hope so, we don’t want to be here if it floods..” You responded, taking a sip of your bubbly soda after.
You stare at the window too, slowly zoning out of what’s going on currently, and thinking about the past. When you and your ex, Leon, were together and it rained, you would just cuddle and watch movies all day. It was so perfect. Until.. until he went.. insane. His once calm and sometimes stoic demeanor would turn into a possessive and jealous one. “Hey. You alright?” You snap back into reality, facing Vee’s face. You shyly nod your head yes. But you assume that she has already seen the saddened look on your face before you could change it.
“Babe.. he can hurt you anymore. He won’t hurt you anymore.. not as long as I’m here,” Vee says empathetically. You really owe her. To get someone out of an emotionally abusive relationship is hard, but she still pushed through for you anyways, even though it wasn’t her responsibility. She cared for you as if you were related to her. She placed her hand up to your cheek, caressing it softly. “I don’t want you to worry about him anymore, kay?”
“Ok.” You smile at her. You’ve already told her this, but she would make an amazing partner if you two wanted each other non-platonically. “I’m gonna go to the bathroom real quick, text me if you need something, ok babe?” You hum in response, watching Vee get up from her chair, fix it, then take her phone and walk away. You take another sip of your soda, then go on your phone scrolling mindlessly on Twitter. Suddenly, a message pops up in your dms. Usually, you thought of it as those weird sex bots who desperately try to scam people. But it seemed too off, so you decided to check on it.
Propped up was an obvious Twitter pre-made username, but they had a black pfp. The name simply said, KL. The message coming from them saying, I miss you. I’m lonely. You think nothing of it, deleting the message soon after. These people are just so weird behind a screen huh?.. You continue to scroll on your Twitter, giggling to yourself whenever you see a funny post. But then again, you see another message from the same account. You click on it again seeing something way more ominous. I miss your laugh. It’s weird, but there can be many reasons as to why someone would say that, and you were praying that it wasn’t because you were genuinely laughing just a moment ago. You decide to not entertain it by simply blocking and deleting the account from your dms. Then closing Twitter entirely.
Vee comes back from the bathroom, walking back to the table the two of you shared. “Ready to go?” She said, visually refreshed. “Yea, let’s go.” The two of you walk out, then head to her car to go to her home.
----
“Hey Vee, can I use this?” You say wrapping yourself in a towel and walking over to her. “My mielle? shitt girl.. you know those things rarely get restocked ‘round here,” You frown to that. Although you get where she’s coming from, you don’t need her to be stingy. “Pleasee.. I promise to go to the store and find you one!” You make a frown to try to convince your friend. She looks like she's deep in thought, but then she gives in. “Fine, put on your clothes first, then we’ll head to CVS quickly.” You hug her, then head back to the bathroom to finish up.
The two of you walk into CVS, going separate ways almost immediately. You lift your head to find for the haircare aisle, walking to it when you see it. You accidentally bump into someone, mumbling an apology soon after. The person says “It’s okay,” with deep, raspy voice. You feel like you recognize the voice, but mark it off as nothing and continue to look for the hair product.
The person you bumped into is still in the same aisle as you, but they have a hoodie on so you can’t make out their face. Not that you judge or anything, but they didn’t have the stature of a woman, and their muscles lowkey poked through their hoodie. They were tall too, maybe around 5’11? You quickly turn back to yourself so you aren’t caught analyzing someone.
You feel your phone buzz in your pocket. Assuming it’s Vee, you take it out to see what’s going on. Another Twitter message. You unlock your phone to go look at it, another black pfp account, but with another name. KSL. It seemed similar to the other “KL” account since it had the same getup and all. The message they sent through, was what made you nervous. You’re still so clumsy as ever, princess. You look to the person next to you, them being in the same spot as before but staring at a product. What the fuck? This was getting too good to be true, and you were getting freaked out. But you did what you knew best.. block and delete the account from your dms.
You go farther down the lane, passing by the stranger. “Looking for this?” The pale hand extends to you the Mielle Oil you were looking for. They turn to face you, and your heart drops in horror.
It was him. You left him 6 months ago, and never spoke to him again. Just took your things and left. You honestly have never seen him around since then. His icy blue eyes stare down into yours, with his lips curling into a small smirk. Your toxic ex was back in your face, and you couldn’t believe it. You had no time to worry, you needed to get out of here. You run to the check out isle, seeing Vee scan her items. “Did you find it?” She says looking around your hands for the product. Her expression changes the moment she truly sees your face. She furrows her brows and asks “What’s wrong babe?”
“He’s here. I don’t know how, but he’s here and we need to leave. Now.”
Vee nods at your request, and you help her bag her stuff. You panic as you put the items in the bag, and the two of you hurry to leave the store and get to the car. “Go inside the car, I’ll put it away,” Vee says as she opens the trunk of her car. You get inside the passenger seat, putting on your seatbelt and waiting patiently for Vee to finish. She gets inside the driver seat, putting on her seatbelt then wastes no time to turn on the engine and drive away. A sense of relief fills you, but you see Leon in the outside mirror of the CVS, standing ominously.
“You won’t get away from me. Not anymore.”

Hello! I need medication for life to prevent my lungs from collapsing, this implies permanent treatment with steroids, oxygen therapy, control of oxygen in the blood and antibiotics to prevent the development of bacteria in the lungs.
I'm afraid I have to insist on this because it may be the only way to get my treatment.
I need medication for life to keep my lungs from collapsing, this costs around $700 per month.
Things are really tough on me,I can’t afford. Please donate🖤
Hey look it’s another medical scam!
I’m answering this solely as a PSA for people :)
Real people who need money for life saving medication don’t send asks on tumblr to people they do not know, have never interacted with previously, and who are only 19 and definitely do not have money to donate! My age is in my bio which you would see when sending this ask, defs weird to send this to someone you don’t know who is this young. As I said last time I got a message like this, sending a message like this in a public post or as a dm to people you know is fine but to a young stranger it’s sus and mega creepy. Your bio says you are 33. No 33 year old with any sort of self respect or decency asks a 19 year old to pay their fucking medical bills.
I’m not saying this is impossible to be real, just like…. I’d be willing to bet my entire college fund on it being fake. So yeah.
Also it’s mega sus that this person is being so vague about what their medical problem is… like I’m not saying irl people would or should go into specific details but like, keeping your lungs from collapsing? The only things I can think of that would cause that are all solved by surgery, not any of the things they listed. I may not be an expert but still weird. Your bio says cystic fibrosis, which I don’t know a ton about so maybe I’m wrong but either way this is still a scam.
Anyway I’m not gonna spend any more time debunking this scam, but yeah PSA to anyone who sees this that it’s 99.999999% probably fake, stay safe out there <3
And to the person who sent this, if you’re a real person and not a bot then get better at scamming, your inexperience is showing and it’s not a good look. Not to mention all the grammar and spelling mistakes. Also I get that this is meant to pull on heartstrings but abusing peoples compassion for others in need is cruel. Be better.
Ps- last time I got sent a scam like this the person switched the ask to anon somehow? Maybe they deleted the account, but just in case the username of this scammer is gloriousdestinycollector (wow that’s an ironic name to attach to a scam) and their pfp is black with fire going across it diagonally. Their tumblr seems to be mostly posts about needing donations - some have pictures of what looks like the same person but they could be AI, staged, edited, stolen, or stock photos with the watermark removed. They’ve also got a few posts about Gaza and reblogged art, so it’s definitely more varied than most scam accounts I’ve seen, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t still a scam. I can see it fooling people, which is why I made this post. Again, stay safe out there people.
