saikis powers are a vital part of him so it makes sense that people who dont know about them cant truly understand his whole self, but its also very silly to me when people act like its the ONLY important part of him... people act like his friends that arent in the know are completely blind to who saiki is, but i feel like that kinda means you missed some major points... he cant keep his powers a secret forever and it DOES matter, but he can still be loved and KNOWN without knowing about them... hes still human, he still has a personality, he still has regular likes and dislikes, etcetc

his friends perspectives on him may have been wrong at first, but they CHANGED... they know him and love him, and theyll KEEP loving him the SAME once they know of his powers...

some people cough cough cough in this fandom like to reduce saiki to JUST his powers and its so obvious that you just. missed everything. you didnt absorb anything from the show, you just saw it and went "ha, everyone thinks hes just a guy when hes actually super cool and powerful" no no no, he IS cool and powerful but look a little closer and at his core he is still LITERALLY JUST A GUY 😭😭😭

i think dinostar is such an interesting ship right now even if i've kind of turned away from it after this season. the problem is that it's complicated, and fandoms historically don't like nuanced situations or takes. i don't think it's fair to say darius is putting brooklynn on a pedestal, since from his perspective, she hasn't done anything wrong, and kenji has been framed as this unfair partner to her. it does feel like his feelings are very immature and more of an infatuation right now ("if he loved you half as much.."/"unless?"), especially when you compare them to kenji's own feelings for brooklynn - his girlfriend who he's loved for 6 years - but that isn't a horrible thing, it's just different. i do completely understand if people dislike the ship right now, and even criticize darius' way of handling the accidental confession, but i just think people have been way too harsh on all three of them without being willing to see that all of their perspectives are different

#like darius' whole thing this season was his tendency to say or do the wrong thing and make things awkward by complete accident #he's a very awkward person as it is and considering he's also never dealt with romantic feelings before and he didn't even mean to tell her #about them it makes sense that he once again said and did the wrong things while trying to fix it #i'm not going to judge his characterization just yet until we see how he handles his own feelings vs kenji's next season after finding out #she's alive #he was still respectful of her and i doubt after learning more of kenji's side and realizing this man genuinely does still love and miss he #that he would prioritize pursuing her romantically(especially since she already yk.. rejected him and also literally just left them all)#if anything i think the finale putting his feelings about her survival to the side and focusing on how it hurt kenji to see her alive and #leave him kind of indicates that brooklynn's not really going to be much of a love interest for darius after this #which imo as a dinostar enjoyer and professional darius lover i'm actually okay with #slightly off topic but season 2 has made me really appreciate kenlynn on its own because of how tragic and nuanced it is #so i think focusing on them instead is not only a better decision in terms of consistency and storytelling but it's just the more realistic #and satisfying choice right now #and that's not to say i think they'll be perfectly fine or even together again once they're reunited properly #in fact i very much hope she ends up alone and they all get closure from this #and there's always the possibility that later on the show might actually revisit dinostar again #which would be better than them trying to do so now in my opinion #idk this is probably a mess but i've been trying to think about how i felt about this love triangle for awhile and since s2 handled it #completely differently than i thought they would. i feel like it's not going to be that simple #and i just wish fans of all sides would kind of chill out on the characters lmao #jwct #chaos theory #jwct s2 spoilers #brooklynn jwct #jwct season 2 spoilers #dinostar #kenlynn #kenji kon #darius bowman #jurassic world

I don't like the judo flip in moa as much as the next guy but in my eyes it's largely the result of rick not taking female violence half as seriously as male violence (a result of viewing women as weaker and inferior to men such that their acts of violence don't need to be taken as seriously) and not so much anything about annabeth herself. like I do genuinely feel that annabeth is a complex heroine and definitely one of the better ones in the realm of ya action-adventure fiction produced in the past 25 years but she is still a girl being written by a man and all I'm saying is that her writing clearly reflects that sometimes (more in tags)

i actually have a hard time understanding childe's character and is mostly because of other people's takes + im like so scared of mischaracterizing him

#like when ppl where saying he doesnt kill and people were calling that mischaracterisation #and then they turned around and called him a sociopath who doesnt care about others (sooo not true its painful)#its not that its a middle ground- both versions are just. not him #i think childe kills not because he's some homicidal maniac but because its his duty to the tsaritsa #and while he does not do it on text from my pov is like heavily implied? yk? her majestys weapon?? feared in battle?#but the word duty is important #i think childe wants to be good- more than anything #he wants to be a good brother and a good son and a good comrade #and being a harbinger is what has allowed him to do so #being her majesty's weapon is both a prision and liberty for him #he can take care of his family. he can find strong opponents. he can gain strength.#he cant make meaningful connections with others. he cant always do the work he wants to do. he cant (always) be the good guy #last part is the most important to me. its clear during liyue he didn't enjoy putting innocents at risk #but he does so anyway- out of duty #and here is My Interpretation: childe knows his position and knows it will force him to hurt others #which he doesnt enjoy #and to cope with that he seems to have convinced himself that if he only hurts those who are bad then it means he himself is not bad #for childe that is enough. except we know it isnt #the fatui is a deeply unethical organization- even if their goals are pure their means arent and we know that #childe thinks that separating himself from his coworkers and just trying to hurt those who he (or the fatui) deems as bad is enough #but it isnt enough ! because he still is contributing to said organization- he is by extenction enabling their unethical actions #he isnt good #and thats what i love about him #him not killing wouldnt make sense because then what is his internal struggle? why is then that the older members of his family hold +#so much contempt for him #if he were just a silly malewife who just likes to battle - why would his father have sent him to the fatui in the first place #along the same vein him enjoying killing and finding no issue with it wouldnt make sense either #because again then where is the conflict- by several voicelines is clear childe doesnt care much about himself / has a low self esteem #childe knows whats right and whats wrong and he knows that what he is and what he does isnt right #yet he still does it. out of naivety or (and i like this answer more) duty

#ok so. basically i woke up thinking about teeth & how he would show his love for red #bc 1. he can't talk & so he can't outright say he loves him but also.#2. neither of them really understand love or that what they feel for each other is love yk #so i was thinking. teeth probably always leaves the actual act of killing their prey to red or #at the very least. makes sure red is watching when it dies bc he knows that's like... uh. he knows that's the ''important'' part to red #if that makes sense #also! i think the only reason teeth eats people is bc of red #if he hadn't met red i really don't think he would have survived all that long bc he's not particularly fast (bad leg)#& he's not particularly smart either. so he most likely would've gotten taken out by monster hunters if he was alone #though he is very strong so the hunters wouldn't have been left unscathed #& i think red wouldn't have survived all that long either bc he was never particularly careful about anything until he met teeth #he was doing increasingly risky & dangerous hunts bc he simply didn't care yk. but teeth gave him like. a reason to be careful & calculated #which just further proves they're bound by fate yk.#um. i also had some breakthroughs with teeth's origin story so. i maaaaayyyy work on those today. i might actually make red's finally #we'll see. i might end up drawing all day again. idk. n e way.#rainyrambles

#to me the whole system seems unnecessary and therefore a little sus that they’re so keen on incentivizing it #but every time i’ve asked people are just like ‘you’re being stupid’#but then i also see people saying it’s glitchy and locks them out. and also doesn’t do anything that would be useful #there’s no way for you to transfer pets or np or items between accounts #so i would literally just be joining for the exclusive items. and idk why that raises flags for me #it just feels a little like they’re SO desperate for people to join. and for what #and i cannot forget that dom law used to work on neopets metaverse. even if the nfts were under jumpstart he also has that background #the point of the blockchain is centralizing all of your information right. is that not also what this is #i feel like i can’t fully count it out yk #someone hacked my spotify a few years ago and that made me stop using one thing to log in everywhere #because i used google to log into spotify. and a lot of other stuff was linked to it too #i feel like it’s safer to have individual logins for individual sites yk. what happens when i use my email to log in everywhere #and then someone breaks into my email #am i truly being stupid. i don’t understand the point and when ive asked before people were just like ‘every online game does it nowadays’#i just haven’t seen anyone give a good reason or actually address any of my concerns and that also feels sus #but when i say it like this. i do feel a little bit like a conspiracy nut
