I Hate it Here
pairing: paige bueckers x reader
plot: based off of the tiktok trend from taylor swift’s new album ttpd. in which paige sees the tiktok you made about her.
also posting on my other acc! @kenzlovesyou
➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖
paige returned home from practice to find you asleep in your shared room. she was sweaty and tired but the sight of you looking so precious made her face soften. she noticed you had a tendency to do that; make her soft.
paige put her bag down and walked up to you, kissing your forehead. “hey y/n, baby. i’m back,” her tone was sweet as she shook you awake, “i’m home!”. you groaned a bit as your eyes fluttered awake. “paigeyyy” you said, still half asleep as your arms reached to hug her. she smiled and reached down to hug you. you nuzzled into her neck, you’d missed her a little extra today. she stood up fully and you got out of your bed, hugging her tightly once again. “babe i’m sweaty. let me shower, then we’ll spend some time ok?” she lightly unhooked your arms from around your neck and gave you a soft kiss on the cheek. you sighed, already missing her touch.
you decided to go on to couch and watch a show while you waited for paige to finish showering. after finally settling on a show you spaced out into it, watching intently. paige finally finished showering and came out of the bathroom onto the couch with you. she saw the show you chose and wasn’t particularly interested, but still wanted to spend time with you. you laid your head on her shoulder and snuggled close to her. she looked down at your precious head and kissed the top of it.
she decided to scroll on tiktok while you watched your show. she scrolled past videos on her for you page, not finding anything entertaining enough to like but not boring enough to scroll past without watching. she then switched to her following feed. she watched the dancing video she and kk had made earlier in the day, before practice and laughed to herself. then she stumbled upon your account. you weren’t too active on social media, so it was always a treat for her to view something you’d posted. it was one of those slideshow tiktoks, with a new song from Taylor Swift playing in the background. the first picture was a cute picture of you azzi had taken of you with your hood on your heading, looking grumpywith the words “i hate it here so i will go to”.
paige quickly realized what trend you were participating in and was excited to see what you thought your “secret garden” was. she assumed it would be Uconn, as you’d mentioned how happy going to school here had made you and how it’d brought you out of your shell. she slid to the next photo. “secret gardens in my mind” she read and saw a mirror picture of the two of you. nobody else. just her. she was your secret garden. she mattered most to you. she felt like tearing up. she’d never meant this much to someone. even though it was just a tiktok trend, she was overcome with emotion. “baby?” she looked over at you.
“hm?” you hummed over at her, still immersed in your show.
“hey, welcome back to the real world. i saw the tiktok you made about me. i love you so much. ” she lifted her arm up and put it around you.
“you like it?? it’s not too annoyingly coupley and cringey?” you asked.
“no, y/n. it’s perfect. i wish i could be with you all the time. i love spending time with you.”
you looked at her and smirked. she wasn’t this soft when she first met you. you’d changed her.
“going soft on me, bueckers?”
“OK MOMENT RUINED” she jokingly pushed you off her even though she knew she’d be holding you again not even 2 minutes later.
my first one shot 🥳🥳 ik it’s short but i felt like writing something!! feel free to send in fic requests, dialogue prompts, song lyric prompts, etc! hope you guys like this, ik im not the best writer but i just like to do it for fun!! have a great day/night <3 :)

Tumblr media Tumblr media
hi y'all! i just want to say thank you all for 300 followers. to be honest, this brings me so much joy as i used to think that i was not good in the field, with my posts achieving a low engagement rate. but over the past two years, i made it to such a big and momentous milestone, and i really am grateful to those of you who like, reblog, and comment on my moodboards; i really appreciate it. therefore, to celebrate this wonderful occasion, i decided to host an event that's a bit different (as far as i know) from other events that took place here in tumblr. i also had so much fun formulating the concept behind this event, and i hope that you will also show some love and support to it. i hope that blogs, regardless of experience and following, will participate and have fun. please don't let this flop; anyways thanks for 300 and enjoy!

ㅤㅤㅤ⋋ㅤㅤㅤ💾❛ㅤㅤㅤ⿴ㅤㅤㅤ○ㅤㅤㅤabout
in 2050, a decade after the great armageddon nearly wiped out all life, the world has become a wasteland. only a few high-tech colonies survive, including the last stronghold in seoul. here, people live in peace within their advanced, secure cities, shielded from whatever dangers lurk in the outside world. but this peace doesn’t mean they’re safe to ignore what’s beyond their walls.
the a.e.s.p.a. (advanced enforcement and security protection agency) is a team of elite operatives sworn to protect the colony. normally, they handle internal threats, but recently, they received a strange signal from outside the colony. this signal was unlike anything they’d seen—a unique frequency that could mean other survivors were out there. weeks later, another mysterious event followed, dubbed “sonic whiplash.” a massive shockwave, almost like an echo of a voice or a distant call, rattled the colony walls. this wasn’t just noise; scientists suspected it was energy, possibly even linked to other dimensions or sources of life outside.
to respond, a.e.s.p.a. needed to build specialized machines to handle whatever strange conditions they might face outside the colony. however, necessary files required to plot out their machine's structure and purpose were wiped out during the armageddon, hence using moodboards left as fragments of the original files to complete the machine's construction further. in a creative and practical twist, a.e.s.p.a uses moodboards—visual boards that combine art and data—to design their rescue machinery. these moodboards help them craft everything from rescue drones to sound-absorbing suits, all adapted to fit the mysterious energy of sonic whiplash. each moodboard captures the “feel” of the mission, ensuring their tech can handle the unknowns in a potentially hostile environment.
by bringing these ideas to life, a.e.s.p.a. is preparing to head out of the colony not just to investigate the signals, but to possibly save any survivors they find. with these advanced machines, they’re ready to confront the mysteries of the world outside and discover the truth behind the haunting frequency, hoping to bridge their safe world with whatever’s left out there.

FEELS LIKE FOREVER.
billie eilish x fem!reader
summary: despite accompanying billie on her world tour, you didn't see her much, and it's up to you to express your concern about her overworking.
warnings: mentions of overworking, fluff, unedited.
word count: 1100+
a/n: anon, your request wasn't very specific so if this isn't what you had in mind, i'm very sorry. thank you for sending in a request, though, and i hope you enjoy 🫶 (also by "gf" i interpreted girlfriend so please lmk if you meant something else)
Tumblr media
The tour was hard on Billie. She loved it to death, but sometimes she wished that she had longer periods to rest. She was glad to have you around this time, traveling around the world with her and watching every single show she performed, and at the end of the night, you’d be right by her side as the two of you fell into content slumbers.
She didn’t wish for just more time for relaxation and to continue working on her next album, but to also spend time with you. She felt bad that, though you were with her, you weren’t at the same time, sometimes not seeing her for hours at a time despite being in the same buildings. Billie wanted nothing more than to have a lazy day with you, caught up in the tour bus with no calls regarding the album, performances, or anything else.
“Billie, stop that.” Maggie argued, scolding the girl who was using her microphone to act as if she had a dick, flinging it around, which made you laugh. You were watching Billie and Finneas run through the fundamentals during a sound rehearsal while sitting off to the side in a chair that the crew had set up for you and Billie’s parents in GA, Maggie and Patrick to your right.
Billie tore the microphone away from it’s position with a frown, ready to reply to her mother, when her manager, Danny, called her and Finneas over to go through the setlist. That left Maggie and Patrick to talk about anything while you scrolled through Twitter, liking the posts that talked about you and Billie positively and skipping the ones that were in a negative light.
“(Y/N)?” You turned your head at the sound of your name, meeting Maggie’s gaze as she smiled warmly at you. “How's it been for you this past tour?”
You thought about it for a second, letting out a small cough before replying, “Boring at times, fun at times. I find myself alone in the tour bus a lot, just thinking, you know?”
You loved the older woman to death. The O’Connell family itself had been there for you when your own family couldn’t, and no amount of money or love could ever repay them in your mind. “That’s fair; I expected you and Billie to be together a lot more, but she’s been spending a lot of her free time on the album. I tell her to take a break, but she just nods before putting her headphones back on and continues.”
You nodded, not failing to catch the gloom in her eyes. “I’m slightly afraid of her schedule; she’s constantly working,” you replied, “but I can see why. She doesn’t say it, but she’s afraid to get backlash on another song the way “NDA” was reviewed.”
Before Maggie could reply, you felt two arms wrap around your shoulders and a head rest on top of yours. “Talking about me?”
“Maybe.” You tilted your head up, giving her a quick kiss, which she reciprocated with a bright, genuine smile when you pulled away. Maggie and Patrick stood up, deciding to leave you two be, but not without a reassuring hand on your knee and Maggie telling Billie where they were headed.
Billie rounded around you, sitting where her mom was not too long ago and noticing a different glint in your eyes. “You okay?”
“Just tired.” You sent her a smile. It wasn’t entirely false; you had stayed up later than usual to fill out emergency documents your workplace had sent you, despite the fact that you technically were on vacation. “Yeah, me too. The rehearsal ended, and there are still a couple hours until the show. You wanna go lay down?”
You looked at her with a confused face. “I thought you were going to continue mixing the song you’re working on?”
Billie sighed, wrapping her arm around your shoulder and pulling you into her. You laid your head on her shoulder, and she rested her head on yours. “I’ve thought about how much time I’ve been dedicating to the album when I should be taking time for you too. It feels like forever when I’m in the studio, mixing or writing, and you’re alone on the bus.”
“It’s fine, Billie; I know how important this album is to you,” you reassured her, placing your hand on her thigh. “I miss you a lot, and I won’t lie about that, but I wish you’d just take some time off working on the album. Not for me, but for you.”
Billie smiled down at you, taking her fingers under your chin to tilt your head up at her and embrace her in a soft kiss. “I’m more than happy you care about me, love. Come on,” she carefully stood up, and you eased out of your position on her shoulder before taking her outstretched hand, “let’s go to the green room and lay down.”
“One could say you’re happier than ever.”
“Oh, hush it.”
On the way there, the two of you were ultimately stopped by Danny, who seemed to be in a rush. “Billie! I know you’ve been working on the album a lot but I was wondering if you could re-record the-“
“Not today.” Billie interrupted with a short reply, and you smacked her upper chest at the tone she held. “Um,” you started off, eyeing the green room that wasn’t far away, “if you really need her, then it’s fine; I could-“
“Tomorrow, Danny.” The older man just nodded, giving the two of you a small smile before holding his phone to his ear, seemingly having been on a call the entire time, and rushing away.
“You’re busy tomorrow, though.” You quirked, having memorized Billie’s schedule for the month out of boredom one day. “You have to get up early for an interview, then a meeting, then rehearsals, then-“
“(Y/N),” she cut you off from your blabbering, holding you closer to her as you walked to the nearing green room, “Danny will realize sooner or later that I can’t make time to re-record... whatever he was getting at. I could use my small time slot to spend with you.”
“Yeah?”
“Definitely, baby.” Billie pushed open the door to the green room, and you practically rushed to the couch and laid down, holding your arms out for her to lay into, which she did with precaution.
She preferred holding you, but she didn’t mind being held herself, and it didn’t take long for Finneas to walk in the room on a panic search for Billie and find the two of you knocked out, limbs entangled with one another.

part 2 for so long london w/ a happy ending please I loved it sm😭😭
loml.
Harry Styles x fem!reader
Summery: After nearly a year apart and an album later, turns out you and Harry aren’t doing as well as you let off to be. Part 2 to So Long, London
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Seeing him across the room even after all this time sends chills down my spine. I recall the warm feeling of his hands against my spine and the smell of gunpowder as he aims his pistol at my heart.
It’s funny seeing him now that he’s written down his feelings and published them like a diary for the world to read. I know more about his heart than he led me on to know. I know how he claims to have felt shattered inside with the realization he lost the “love of his life” and how we walked the fine line between being perfect and violently broken. But really, what is perfect when it comes to us?
He wrote down some things I just can’t unabsorb. His songs turning me into more of an idea of sorts. It felt like watching the story of our love from afar. The details were there, but they weren’t quite right. He writes about how we danced in the kitchen listening to trash pop music, but he leaves out the way we always stumbled over the chipped tile by the counters. Does he remember how he’d lead us there purposely so he could wrap his arms around my cold body and save me?
Seeing him now I can feel his eyes drift to mine every couple seconds, his gaze burning into my side profile while I down another glass trying to shake the feeling.
I feel stupid now, seeing him at our best friend’s wedding. He’s in a suit and tie, his hair curled around his eye and a red tint from the sun on his cheeks. I feel even more stupid wearing a green dress on the opposite side of the alter, holding flowers and smiling at how the bride and groom promise themselves in sickness and in health.
I’m not stupid though, I can hear the whispers about how we almost had it all. The flowers picked out from the catalog dull in comparison to the ones we had picked out for each other by the third week together. When I sit with the bridesmaids, I hear their snickers at the bride, how lucky she is to be the first married, how they always thought it would have been me.
But I’m a good friend, and a damn good actress. I can paste on a smile and act like the jokes they sneak into their speeches about how they never saw it coming, telling stories about the newlyweds that should have been about us are funny. But I can’t help the way I start to sweat when they begin to quote the same words Harry had written down for me.
All of our love story written down for the public to use, words he penned on the paper with my face in mind belong to someone new now, “I love you’s” whispered between couples who once dreamed of having a love like ours.
“I remember meeting you in September of last year, you were wearing a yellow dress and red shoes. You didn’t match, but you made it look good. I thought you were beautiful, I just had to have you. And when you decided to go for a guy like me, I knew you were the one instantly. Just like our good friend Harry once said, ‘She’s an angel, my only angel.’” I don’t listen to his heartfelt speech anymore, I can’t even look at the smile on my friends face as he serenades her anymore, I feel like someones just ripped out my heart and claimed it as their own.
And like someone was praying for me to cry, to finally break and show everyone just how not okay I am, his eyes are on mine, and he’s not looking away. When my eyes catch his, I mentally curse myself, wishing I could sink into the seat beneath me. I excuse myself to use the bathroom, grabbing the bottom of my dress to make down the long hallways of the beautiful venue that should have been ours.
“Y/n.” His accent is thick in the foggy room, eyes dimmer than I remember. He runs after me, voices from the reception muffled by the walls put between us.
My eyes trace over his body, studying the way he sighs out my name. Can he hear my heart crashing down as I realize I’ve lost my touch? I cannot tell if he’s relieved or obligated to be standing so close.
I swallow hard, his english accent drawing me back to the place I once loved so much. My new home dulls in comparison to what we once had, and I can’t help but still hold a grudge for him taking that all away from me, for ruining a sacred city and crushing it between his fingers.
“You look good.” I break the awkward silence that falls between us, his lips parted like an idiot, like he ran without thinking and forgot how to talk.
“Me? God, you look breathtaking.”
I would have blushed not long ago, curtsying at his comment and kicking my feet beneath the table cloth, but now the compliment is empty and instead feels backhanded in some odd way.
“Oh…well thank you. I tried my best.” I laugh bitterly, and the shine in his eyes tells me he misses the unhappiness in my giggles.
When he doesn’t speak again, I swear I can feel my skin shifting over my bones every time I breathe.
“Well, it was good seeing you.” I lie through my teeth, turning on my heals and wiping away any tears gathering on my waterline.
“You don’t have to avoid me, you know.”
“What?”
“You don’t have to avoid me. I know things aren’t the same between us, but that doesn’t mean I don’t still look for you in every room I walk into. You’re the love of my life, even now.” He confesses, stepping closer.
“Well, maybe you shouldn’t. I’m not in any rooms you’re in anymore.”
“But maybe I wish you were.” He says with a smirk, stepping closer and trying to slip his hand into mine, but it’s like needles stabbing into my skin, I cannot hold onto him, so I slip away.
“Goodbye, Harry.”
He grabs me again, a hold so desperate to keep me in his grasp, one I haven’t felt in a long time. Classic move from Mr. Steal Your Girl. The man who promised rings and cradles, the dame man who swooned over the small things and rolled his eyes as he turned his back. Mr. Make Her Cry.
“Y/n I don’t want this to be goodbye.”
“It’s not. It can’t be, we already did that right?” I turn to him teary eyed, my wrist burning under the grip of his cold rings decorated on his warm hands.
“No, that’s not what that was.”
“Then what was it?”
He swallows, but keeps looking me in the eyes like he means everything he’s preparing to say.
“We were so young. I was scared, and I pulled away. It was wrong, but I thought you’d be better off with someone who wasn’t afraid to grow up.”
“I would have waited. You know that.” He nods.
“I know. But it’s not fair.”
“No, whats not fair is you coming back to me after leaving me stranded in a place I can’t even fucking stand to be near anymore! God, you’re such an asshole, talking rings and talking cradles and then claiming to be scared for a future you planned. You don’t do that, not to the love of your life, and you sure as hell don’t leave them stranded and alone. How dare you think it was romantic to have done that to me?” I spit venom from my tongue, my eyes clouded with tears. “You promised to never leave, then what? Never mind? You think you’re such a hero for leaving me but in reality you’re a coward. Letting me think we had it all, we almost had it all and then you leave? What do I do with myself now that you’ve come back? Do you want me to forgive you? Harry, I might be the love of your life but you’re the loss of mine.”
“I know, I know.”
“Stop saying you know when you don’t!” I scream, quieting down as I remember where we stand, and I silently pray I haven’t spoiled such a beautiful wedding.
“I’m not claiming to have been a good partner, god knows about all my faults and I’ve gone away to fix them, and you’re here now, and I don’t know how I’ll ever find you again if I do not ask now, but I need you to listen to me now before it’s too late because I’ve never felt a hole in my chest like this, and I need you to see how badly I need you back in my life, I need you to trust me when I say I’m committed this time.” He pleads, his hands trembling in mine.
My lip trembles at the feeling of his skin on mine, my face colliding with his shoulder in a suffocating hug, I can feel myself falling back into his wicked grip, but when he holds me like this, it feels more like flying than falling, at least until the bone crush.
Standing in the hallway of a wedding built for us, but dedicated to another, I see us dancing in the kitchen again, the steps burned into my head as we waltz back into rekindled flames. His love is just so warm, fuck it if I get burned, if it falls apart again.
He’s the loss of my life, Mr. Writes Me Love Songs, Mr. Dances With Me In The Kitchen.
But for now, at least under the false illusion’s presented within this luxurious wedding, he’ll be the love of my life.

i still can't believe that you noticed me
mindlessly scrolling on your phone, you patiently wait for your roommate, park jay, to finish cooking up some breakfast. a comfortable silence has settled between you two, with the only sounds being the sizzling oil on the pan and your humming.
"you've been listening to the same 14 songs for the past week."
"what?" you ask, looking up at him. you stare at his back, broad shoulders exposed by his tank top.
he turns his head to look back at you over his shoulder, raising a perfect eyebrow. you realise then what he's saying.
laufey had released a new album last week, and you literally haven't played any other song outside of it since it dropped. you can feel jay judging you, but you just shrug at him. you were definitely not stopping.
"so what if i've had bewitched on repeat? can you deny that they're good?" you challenged him.
"no, of course not," he chuckled to himself, turning back to the pan. "i'm just surprised you haven't gotten sick of it yet."
"i would never get sick of laufey," you say with mock offence.
"alright, then," he said with a teasing undertone.
you wanted to retort, but he placed a plate in front of you, making you forget what you were going to say.
"hey, you have a later clinical today, right?" he asked as you two dug in.
"mhm."
"take the box i left in the fridge with you before you go then. its some extra lunch i made so you'd have enough energy to get through the day."
"thank you," you say appreciatively. "you really don't have to do that every time i have a heavier day."
"well, if i have time to, then i don't see why i shouldn't."
"what about you? what are you doing today?"
"my professor cancelled class today, so i'll go check out if i can bother heeseung or jake."
"i'll pray for whichever victim you choose, then," you joke.
"maybe i won't make you extra lunch next time," he pouted playfully.
"no, no. those actually really help me. god knows if i didn't score you as my roommate, i would have passed out several times by now."
"grateful to be of service"
after breakfast, jay lounges around the apartment as you're getting ready. some show plays on the tv, but it doesn't drown out the sound of must be love playing from your speakers.
you shout your leaving when you exit the shared apartment, and jay wishes you a good day. he watches you close the door, leaving him completely alone.
i'll never forget the first time i saw you then
when he drives to the shopping centre with jake later that day, he pauses mid-sentence when he realises something.
"is everything good?" his friend asks.
"yeah, i just recognised the song playing."
"really? you listen to from the start by laufey?" jake asks. he had decided to connect his phone to jay's carplay, and had been in the one in control of the playlist.
"not really, but my roommate does."
"y/n? that's pretty cool. they've got good music taste," he replies.
"they've had her newest album on repeat since she dropped it," jay laughs, eyes on the road.
"do you find that annoying?"
"of course not, it's funny seeing them prance around the apartment, belting their heart out," he laughs at a memory of you singing at the top of your lungs. "i guess i'm more of a second-hand listener now? if that's even a thing."
"probably," jake shrugs.
a light pink bouquet, a promise you'll stay and i start to believe
the two had decided to eat out at wagamama's first, before anything else.
"i think i'll get the pad thai," tells the waitor, who nods and notes it on his ipad.
"hm, i'm feeling like trying the grilled chicken ramen," jay says. "oh, could i also get the miso mixed vegetable salad to-go?"
"sure," the waitor replies. he pockets the small device in his apron, and leaves for the kitchen.
"you ordered another meal?" the younger asks curiously.
"me and y/n go here often. of course, i had to get them something. usually, they'll go for the typical miso salad, or some curry, but they've decided they wanted to try being vegan recently. so i got the vegan one," jay explains nonchalantly.
"wow, you really care a lot about them, huh?"
"of course, we're sharing the rent, after all. have to be a good roommate, otherwise they'll leave and i'll have to pay the bills on my own."
"maybe i should get a roommate," jake chuckles. "but i don't think i'd be able to get someone like you."
"i'd feel sorry for whoever ends up with you," jay teases him. "and anyway, they're a good roommate. they do the laundry for the both of us, and we usually spend the weekends cleaning together."
"you guys are so lucky," is all jake says.
i don't recognise myself ; who've i become?
jake dragged jay into their third clothing shop that day, despite jay's protests. in self-defence, jake whines about needing some new shoes.
"don't you have like, thirty pairs? what could you possibly need another one for?"
"actually, i only have twenty-eight. and i need one for graduation, of course."
"right, because none of your almost-thirty pairs suffice," jay rolls his eyes.
"don't act like you dont have seventy pairs of the same polo shirt."
"i don't!"
"i've seen your closet, don't lie to me."
jay sighs and leaves jake to wander around the shop on his own.
"there you go again, buying another shirt," jake's voice sighs from behind jay fifteen minutes later.
"not for me," jay shakes his head. he turns to show the clothing piece to his friend. "for y/n. this is definitely their style, and it'll fit them so well. they have a pair of shoes that are this exact colour, so it would be good outfit if they sandwhich it with any bottom piece they choose."
"you think a lot about your roommate," jake raises his eyebrow at him.
"i see them all the time, why wouldn't i?" jay asks.
"no, like, you think too much about y/n considering you're 'only roommates'," he says with a quote gesture.
"stop suggesting weird things," jay walks ahead to the counter, leaving jake to follow behind.
"is it really so weird, though? if you like y/n like that?"
jay just ignores him, and pays for the shirt. it's not, he thinks to himself, because it's not a new thought either.
i trace it all back, 3:30 am that night something turned in my heart
"thank you, jay," you hug him when he shows you what he got. "you really need to stop buying me things."
"i can't help it," he smiles. "when i see something that reminds me of you, i just feel like i have to get it."
"with how often you buy me things, i'd say a lot of things remind you of me, huh?"
"seems like it..." he scratches his nape, awkwardly avoiding eye contact with you. thanks jake, he scowls in his mind. now he can't stop thinking about what he said earlier.
you and jay decide to watch a movie the next night, since it was a friday, and neither of you had to be up early the next day.
but jay couldn't focus on the tv when you two were basically cuddling under the shared blanket on the sofa. his skin prickled where his arm hung around your shoulder, and the weight of your head on his made him feel light and airy.
the warmth of your body seeped through your clothes, and brought him immense comfort. your sweet scent filled his nose, subconsciously recognising it to be one of the perfumes he'd bought you.
it was only when the movie ended he realised he hadn't been watching at all. and neither were you, if your light snores were any indication.
he huffed amusedly to himself, and shifted on the sofa to get you two in a more comfortable position, actually lying down. reaching for the remote, he carefully switched off the tv, leaving the only source of light to be a soft, warm yellow coming from a corner lamp.
jay stared at your features, illuminated by the dim light. he realised right then, in the comfort of your arms, far into the night, what he felt for you.
while you were sleeping, i fell in love.

february 24th
“Sing that verse again” Julian said. He was one of the producers on your upcoming album, and you were currently recording the first single.
“Break my heart & I swear I’m movin on, with your, favorite athlete!” You sang, trying to sound as melodic as possible.
“Perfect!” Julian said as he removed his headphones and headed into the booth to go over some things with you. Jack, Luke & Quinn were all sitting on the couch nearby, watching you record the song.
When you stepped back into the room with the boys, you wanted to know their thoughts.
“Sooo do you guys like it?” You asked, afraid of what your brothers would say.
“I really like the chorus. Super vibey, you know?” Luke got up and started dancing a little before Quinn yanked him back down.
“It’s got a good message. So far it’s my favorite” Jack said, to which you replied “It’s the only song I’ve recorded, Jack”
“Okay well it’s insanely good, Y/n/n. We’re very proud of you” Quinn smiled from his seat.
“Thanks guys. Also don’t feel like you’re being held hostage in here. Feel free to go out and do your own thing. I’ll be fine” You gave the boys a light grin and each their own hug as they decided to head to the rink to get some practice in.
Tumblr media
Later on that evening, after spending the entire day at the studio planning out concepts for a music video, you went back to the apartment you shared with your brothers. Quinn was leaving in the morning, as he had to go back to Vancouver.
Yes, the breakup sucked and you wished you hadn’t gone through it at all, but you were doing a lot better than you thought you’d be. Spending most of your free-time writing new songs or recording melodies that pop into your head at random points throughout the day.
Your brothers were always concerned for you, seeing as this was your first true heartbreak, but you were handling it better than they thought. You seemed happier, which your brothers all missed because you were always so full of energy.
Just as you were writing in your room, someone had knocked on your door, presumably Jack letting you know that dinner was ready. You placed your journal down and made your way to open the door. Jack stood there, admiring the doorframe as he waited for you.
“First, dinner’s almost ready. Secondly, there’s a gala next month that all the players must attend. They said we could each bring a plus one, and I know you haven’t really been out in a while since you’ve been writing so if you want to come with me & Luke, you’re more than welcome to” Jack smiled at you, truly hoping you’d say yes because he hated seeing you locked up in your room and avoiding social interaction.
You’d lived in New Jersey for a while now, but you never made the effort to meet your brothers’ teammates. It would be a nice change of scenery.
“Why not, sounds nice” You smiled as you accepted Jack’s invitation.
“As long as it’s not within the next week because I’ll be filming the new music video”
“No no it’s not. I think it’s like the 16th or something”
“Okay great. I’ll free my schedule”
Tumblr media
march 16th
After much assistance from your stylist, you decided to wear a black sheer Givenchy dress. It adorned your features perfectly, and you felt like the most stunning woman in the world.
Due to your brothers being actual players on the team, they were required to walk the red carpet. You were just behind them, not wanting to overstep any boundaries. Afterall, it was your first time meeting the team so naturally you wanted to set a good first impression. You took some solo pictures and made your way into the venue.
As you followed your brothers so they could introduce you to everyone, one man in particular caught your eye from across the room. He had a white dress shirt on, his suit jacket discarded somewhere in the room. He made eye contact with you over his glass of wine before directing his attention back to the man infront of him.
Your mind stayed on the mystery man all night, eyes scanning the room every now and then in hopes of making eye contact once more but unfortunately, he’d disappeared from your line of sight. Turning your attention back to Luke and his teammate Dawson, trying to actually make friends with a few of these guys.
Just when you were about to head to the restroom, you felt an arm sling around your shoulders. You turned to find Jack, who appeared to be a tad bit drunk, with 2 men following right behind him.
“Y/n, this is Jesper & Nico. Nico & Jesper, this is Y/n” Your brother slurred. Jesper reached out and you shook his hand. Jesper was extremely sweet and easy to talk to. When you looked over at the other name, your heart dropped. It was the man you’d made eye contact with earlier.
“Pleasure to meet you” He said, his voice nearly making you fall to your knees. The damn accent literally made you weak in the knees for a moment. You were lost in his eyes for a moment, taking in all his features before being pulled back into reality.
You noticed his hand was out, just as Jesper’s was, for you to shake. Your face flushed bright pink the moment your hands made contact. You looked to the ground in attempt to hide your blush at the simple action. You smiled at the man before excusing yourself, desperately needing to go the the restroom to get yourself together.
The second you were behind closed doors, you braced yourself on the sink, holding onto it for support. This felt completely different from what you’d felt in the past. You had butterflies in the pit of your stomach from the second you walked in.
This couldn’t be happening, at least not now. You’d spent the past month and a half putting up walls, making it extremely difficult for you to trust anyone, and Nico waltzes into your life and makes them crumble within seconds.
You didn’t want a relationship right now, but Nico made that extremely difficult. All with just a single look.

Copium for Pyonderful
I. Introduction
Satoru and Daifuku have been the most popular picks for Wonderful’s midseason Cures ever since the first promo images came out
It’s been 26 episodes and people are starting to think it won’t happen, though
HOWEVER, I’m here to tell you there’s still hope
II. Color Schemes
Tumblr media
All Precure seasons have their team's color scheme appear a lot in merch, logos and the like, as well as the show itself (they ARE symbolic of the main characters, after all)
Interestingly, WanPre has had two color schemes pop up
The two unspoken for colors in both schemes are associated with Satoru and Daifuku
III. Daifuku's Design
Tumblr media
Daifuku's design is very stylized
The only other Earth animals that look like him are Komugi and Yuki
IV. Festival and Niko Egg Episodes
In the festival episode, Yuki says that Daifuku isn’t a normal rabbit
He also shuts his eyes and has a close-up once the Garugaru gets purified
Komugi’s wish paper falls to the ground right after
Possibly symbolic of Daifuku wishing to be able to talk with Satoru like the others?
The episode after has Niko’s egg only start to glow after both the Cures and the Bunny Boys touch it
V. Orange Drawing Pen
One of the pieces of merch coming out for Wonderful is a set(?) of five drawing pens
These pens are pink, purple, blue, green, and orange
The pen’s design is also secret, much like the one of the cards for the movie (more on that later)
Tumblr media
VI. Lack of a Character Song
Someone on Reddit pointed out that Satoru doesn’t have a character song on the vocal album
Rosemary and Takumi both got songs on Delicious Party’s first album, so it’s not due to him being a male supporting character
His character song could be being saved for after a potential Cure debut
VII. Late Season Additions and Movie Appearances
Previous seasons have had a teammate join in the 30s
Cure Moonlight in Heartcatch episode 33
Cure Muse in Suite episode 36
Cure Majesty in Hirogaru Sky episode 31
The last example had a surprise appearance in All Stars F
This could theoretically happen in Wonderful’s movie
Daifuku is prominently featured on the poster and a leaked card listing include a mystery design that could be either a movie-exclusive character or Pyonderful (they've shared a card before, after all)
Tumblr media
VIII. I Know the Focus has Mostly Been on Daifuku, BUT-
Most of this copium only seems to hint at Daifuku becoming a Precure
But I maintain that it’s only because between the non-verbal rabbit and the sidekick who’s appeared in every episode, the rabbit needs his Cure debut built up more
Satoru not becoming a Cure too would break up WonPre’s duo motif (the theme is “humans and animals can all become friends,” after all)
Midseason duos have been a thing in the past (see Hugtto!’s Ma’Cherie and Amour)
Also, this poster made for the stores has two weird, vaguely Cure-shaped gaps in between the Wonderful and Star Twinkle girls
Tumblr media
IX. Midseason Incentives
There’s a chance that WanPre won’t have any new Cures after Lillian, but I doubt it
The last season w/out a midseason (Smile) was over a decade ago
No midseason means that Toei misses out on all of the potential toy sales from that Cure
Cure Wing was apparently really popular in Japan, so it makes sense that Toei would try to replicate that success
X. Conclusion
Ultimately, there have been no leaks definitively proving or disproving Pyonderful
The Wonderful movie premieres on September 13, so we theoretically have until September 8 (the air date of episode 32) for Pyonderful Precure
August will most likely be the deciding the month

Hiiii again
I was wondering could you please write one with pedro where the reader's ex is a singer and he makes an whole album about her and it's EVERYWHERE and pedro is kinda mad and jealous.
I wrote this surprisingly very easily. I thought I wouldn’t be inspired, but it went on naturally. I find it short but I like it that way.
I’m using this gif again because, mama, he’s just O.O, the angle, the shoulders, the wet hair, I mean, just him.
And I remind you again, I do not take requests anymore
———————————————————————————
Being a celebrity isn’t easy. Having relationships is worse, especially when the relationship is made official and shown. That’s what you tried to avoid in your current relationship with Pedro. It’s going great for now, no one knows. Of course there are some rumors but nothing big, so you can finally breathe a little.
You both wanted to stay private, but you wanted it more than anything because of your past relationship. You made the mistake to show your relationship everywhere, so when it ended, everything took a turn. Your ex is a singer, you’re an actress, so both of you are famous. You posted pictures and stories of each other on Instagram, went to events together, wandered the streets at any hour possible together, you were not afraid to be seen.
The breakup was long and awful. He was the one who wanted to quit but you were the one receiving backlash more than anything. You had a hard time recovering but then you met Pedro. He helped you recover, as he was going in slow with you at the same time. From both your past experiences you decided to take it one day at a time but more especially stay private.
So you did. You had the greatest year together. You were evolving and it showed in your career. It’s crazy how you can see toxic relationships, how you could see your mind was closed while dating your ex, no big opportunities, friends growing apart and such. You noticed everything after a year of dating Pedro. It helped you find closure, finally recovering. Haha, that’s what you thought.
One glorious Saturday morning, you woke up to a million texts from everyone. Instagram notifications, your agent sending you links and such. You ex released his album. And much to your regret, it was about you. From love and sensual songs, to sad ones, all emotions were described in there. As if your past relationship wasn’t public enough, he explained and showed too many details that you wished never saw the light.
You were alone in bed when you woke up around 10am. Pedro was already up, and you could hear him making coffee. You decided to ignore the news, leaving your phone in the bedroom when you joined him. It could wait. Nothing would change, what is done is done, you can deal with it later.
When you arrived in the kitchen, Pedro was pouring himself a cup of coffee. He noticed you but didn’t say anything nor turned. You placed yourself behind him, holding him from behind.
“hey” you softly said
“Hey” he answered, but in a dry tone
“you okay?” You asked sensing tension
“hm hm” he said before taking a sip of his coffee. You pulled away, keeping your hands on his waist, forcing him to turned around. His eyes were showing anger.
“what’s wrong?” You asked him innocently. You hoped it wasn’t what you were thinking about. He stared at your eyes, searching if you knew why he was mad.
“nothing” he said walking away from you
“Talk to me” you said before turning around
“how about I sing to you” that’s when you clearly knew. It was about what you thought. You sighed.
“So you heard”
“Of course I heard, the entire world heard, and I’m pretty sure I’ll keep hearing about it for a while” he suggested as he knew the songs would blast on every radio and in every shop possible.
“It’s just songs”
“Have you heard them?” You shakes your head. “Let me give you a taste” he said, putting his cup on the counter, pulling his phone out. He searched for something. “She feels so good, so tight, eating me like food, we go all night, moaning, it’s echoing” he said reading the lyrics from one of the songs “and I don’t even want to keep going because it gets worse” he said more upset than before, almost throwing his phone on the counter
“It was before”
“I know, but it was real”
“Pedro” you didn’t really know what to say. The songs seemed pretty graphic.
“How do you think it makes me feel? While he sings about the sex you had together? To the entire world!”
“Do you want to know how it makes me feel?” You scoffed “having my entire life, the most intimate moments exposed just like that, just cause he can?” You were getting mad too. “Let’s not fight about that please, it’s not worth it”
“I don’t want to fight, I just don’t like it”
“I don’t like it either”
“No one else should know how you are in bed or-” he took a deep breath “I’m sorry, I just think it’s very inappropriate”
“I couldn’t agree more” you said slowly getting closer to him “but it’s the past, it’s just a memory for him”
“Yeah but now, every people that will see you will think about that. I don’t want them to think about you that way, and I don’t want him to think about you that way” he sighed “I just hate it” you were standing in front of him
“Yes but you’re the one actually doing what they think about” his gaze went on you
“Doesn’t make me feel better” you wrapped your arms around his waist “no one knows about us”
“I think this album is a proof that it is a good thing” he rested his hands on your shoulders
“I’m sorry, it’s way harder for you and I just snapped at you”
“It’s okay” you hugged him “I actually like that possessive side of you, makes me feel protected” you smiled against his chest
“At least one of us like that side”
“You haven’t seen mine” you joked. You pulled away from him, looking at him with a big smile. “Dame un beso” so he kissed you
“I love you”
“I love you too”
You were about to have a rough few months as every step you both took outside was a torture. Your ex’s songs were blasting everywhere, and it was very difficult for Pedro to be on the side, not being able to do anything about it. Especially when people were mad at you when you didn’t do anything wrong. Got to love being famous huh?

Come Back To Me; Pt. 2
Pairing: Bang Chan x Reader
Word Count: 1k
Warnings: ANGST!! No comfort in this one either, but I promise the implied comfort is coming 🫶🏻
A/N: I’ve been obsessed with Namjoon’s album since it came out, and I couldn’t think of a more perfect response song.
Pt. 1 Pt.3
I told you I’m fine tonight, staying good/ Spring always been here, I will sleep in her eyes
Chris was bewildered when they showed him the text; why had you texted them and not him? He had tried calling you, only to find that
he had been blocked. They all had been. He couldn’t understand what had gone so terribly wrong that you couldn’t even talk to him. He gained a little bit of clarity about a week later when he received a box from you. The kids were all gathered in a circle when he opened it, for moral support and to see if it would provide any insight on why you had left. His eyes went to the note first. The handwriting couldn’t have been more familiar to him if it had been his own. Tears threatened to fall from where they were gathering on his lashes. He was so worried about you forgetting him that he didn’t realize all the ways he had forgotten you.
With the note set gently by his side, he started on taking out each hoodie. One by one, they all came out, smelling just like you. Holding them up to his face, he inhaled deeply, wishing that it was you he was holding instead. It was Changbin who pointed out that there was one missing. “Hyung, where’s the one from this year?” Horror flooded his system at the realization that he hadn’t sent one. Did you two even talk on the anniversary of his leaving? Dropping the hoodie in his hands, he scrambled for his phone. Finding the date in his call log, he was devastated to see missed call after missed call. His words came back to haunt him, “We were working on the song for the new comeback…”
I forgot the hour, I don’t want to know ‘bout the hour/ I forgot to shower 세수할 시간도 아까워
He’s finding that concentrating on his work was the last thing on his mind. Not when the only thing he could focus on was where everything went wrong. Hours are spent staring at the note you had included, as if some hidden message would suddenly reveal itself. As if it wasn’t a goodbye. If you hadn’t texted the kids, would he have even noticed your absence until your package arrived? He wishes he could say yes, but if that were the case he wouldn’t have a box of his hoodies at his feet. He has no one to blame but himself; it was always you who made time, who made space, who made the effort. It wasn’t always so one-sided…when did he stop reaching out first? Hell, when did he stop responding with any kind of regularity? How could he lose the very person who was his anchor in this world?
Come back to me, like you used to/ Now I could see what a life is about
Chris had always been so worried about you forgetting him but he didn’t realize he was forgetting you. He hadn’t ever had to live life without knowing you were right there with him, and quite frankly, he didn’t want to. You were his best friend, you were the love of his life. He would do anything in his power to be able to reach you. If he was adrift, he can only imagine how you were feeling; Not only did you feel as though you had lost him, you felt like you had lost the kids as well. His eyes finally turned away from the note and to the box of hoodies. It was a long shot, but he had to try.
I see you come back to me
He knew that if he were ever to be worthy of getting you back into his life, he’d have to learn to balance everything better. He couldn’t even begin to count the amount of times you changed your plans for him, for the kids, for the schedules. When was the last time he moved things around for you? When was the last time he put anything on pause for you? When he left for Korea, you both knew that he would get a thousand times busier, but he had made a promise to always be there for you, to always make time for you. When did he start breaking promises? He wanted you back, but he needed to be a better him to come back to.
You are my pain, divine, divine
Without your light, Chris’ life had become dull and gray. Had anything ever hurt like this? It had felt like someone had reached into his chest and ripped his very heart out. For all the love he held, for so many aspects of his life, he had known no greater love than what he had with you. He knew, deep in his soul, that the love between you two was still there. It was palpable. He could see traces of it in every careful fold of his hoodies, in the careful strokes of the pen in the note that came with them. He could see it in the way that despite everything, you still cared enough about him to ask the kids to watch after him. To still show your support. No, your love was broken, and it was largely to do with his own negligence, but it wasn’t gone. He could still fix this.
You don’t have to be anything you see/ Tryin’ not to be that something in this sea
If Chris were less selfish, he would let you go. He just couldn’t bring himself to do that. However, he would prove that you were his priority. No more missed call after missed call. No more special days pushed by the wayside to be forgotten. No more traditions left in the dust. Honestly, he even had a hoodie for this year’s contribution to the pile already picked out. One that he had picked up in his travels, that was soft and just a tad oversized on him. It was stuffed into his closet, ready to be sent off. If he had been paying attention to the date, paying more attention to you, he would have never forgotten about it. Grabbing a piece of notebook paper, he wrote what he hoped would help build a bridge back to you.
You are my pain, divine, divine
I see you come back to me

Captured Memories
Words: 3,117, also on AO3
My contribution to the Sebinis Prompt Fest 2024
The prompt was: Sebastian is a photographer, and Ominis is his favorite subject, by the amazing, wonderful, lovely @pr0serpinas ❤️
I absolutely love the prompt, and I thought a lot about what to do with it, since there were so many possibilities... in the end, it turned into something sweet and christmassy (with some smut).
Warnings: Smut (Frottage)
(non-magic modern AU, but not too modern because photography was more romantic when people still had to develop film and put their pictures in photo albums)
Tumblr media
Sometimes Sebastian wondered when it had started.
Maybe with him slowly forgetting what his parents looked like. When he’d found it more difficult to recall their faces, then realised his mind had started to replace their features with those of his teachers, the postman, the nice lady from the bakery across the street.
It was all his Uncle’s fault.
Sebastian wished they would have had more pictures taken before they died, but how could they have known their children would have to grow up without them? Not that it would have made any difference, Uncle Solomon probably would have lost those too, just like he’d lost the only good ones they had of them when they moved, the summer right before he met Ominis.
He’d never forgiven him for it.
So when Anne and Solomon (who he suspected had only agreed to spend the money to put an end to Sebastian’s sulking) had gifted him his first cheap second hand camera for his eleventh birthday, he’d fallen in love with it. Took it everywhere, made sure it was never out of reach, until years later he’d managed to save up and replace it with a better model.
Anne had once joked that she was surprised he didn’t take it to bed with him.
Sebastian couldn’t help it.
It was his way of greedily holding on to small, precious moments, before time could erode them in his mind and take them away from him again.
And he’d make sure to capture memories of everything. Anne, of course. Their house, school, stray cats. Even Uncle Solomon, once, when he’d been too engrossed in his gardening to notice.
Then Ominis came along, and he’d discovered that there was nothing and no one he’d rather take pictures of.
And no one he was more scared to forget.
So he’d make sure he remembered.
He remembered when Ominis turned twelve, and they’d given him his first proper birthday party. With messy, self baked cake and sloppily wrapped presents and a loud, off-key rendition of the happy birthday song, instead of the stiff, formal dinners full of quietly judging old relatives Ominis was used to.
Sebastian knew then that he’d cherish the look of unbridled joy on Ominis’ face forever, and he did. It was still one of his favourite pictures, one of those he pulled out and looked at when his house felt too cold and lonely.
He remembered when ominis grew his first awkward patch of facial hair on his chin, and how he tried to get at least one decent picture of it before Ominis would learn to shave it off.
He remembered staring at that picture for hours.
He’d placed it in a box, along with the others, because putting them in an album felt weird. One after the other, until eventually there was no more space.
He remembered sitting on the floor, holding that box.
He remembered that being the moment he’d realised he’d never thought of Ominis as only a friend.
It had been horrifying.
For hours, he’d been torn between running to the phone to confess and spill it all, and just throwing the box into the fireplace, as if getting rid of the evidence would erase his feelings as well.
In the end he’d quietly pulled out a second box and decided it was pointless to agonise about it anymore. Enjoy and treasure what he could get, because what he’d truly always wanted would likely forever be out of reach.
Tumblr media
At least what he could get wasn’t half bad. Ominis smiling, happily nibbling on one of the cinnamon flavoured biscuits Sebastian had bought him at one of the stalls at the christmas market. Holding onto his arm because it had been difficult for him to navigate the crowd with his cane, and much tighter than strictly necessary, probably because of the cold.
Sebastian shamelessly enjoyed it. There weren’t many days left until Christmas, but perhaps he’d find a few more excuses to take Ominis out until then.
He seriously considered taking a detour on their way back to his house, maybe to underneath a mistletoe somewhere, for an entirely friendly, platonic peck on the cheek.
Shame he wasn’t that bold.
“Could you hurry up? I’m freezing.” Ominis rubbed his hands together in an attempt to warm them up, cane stashed under his arm, waiting for Sebastian to finish fumbling with the keys.
“Almost got it,” Sebastian answered, but even once he had the key ready, he shamelessly took another few moments to just stop and stare. Not too long, because frostbite would be a terrible christmas gift, just long enough to feel a small, stinging ache in his heart.
Ominis’ breath came out in clouds, disappearing into the cold winter air. The little impatient crease between his eyebrows deepened.
Sebastian had left his camera at home, at Ominis’ request, but now he wished he hadn’t.
Once inside, he went straight for it as soon as he’d kicked off his boots. He always liked to make sure it was within reach whenever Ominis came over, which was almost every day, now that they’d graduated.
He came back just in time to watch Ominis take off his winter jacket, hanging it next to Sebastian’s. He’d even bothered to collect Sebastians’ boots and put them neatly next to his own. There was something so familiar and domestic about the scene, it warmed him from the inside out.
Ominis nose and cheeks were slightly red from the cold, his own were probably too. But Sebastian suspected he didn’t look nearly as ravishing. His hands moved almost by themself.
Ominis jumped at the clicking noise.
"I told you to warn me before you do that."
"Your face goes weird when I tell you. They never turn out any good."
"Do they turn out good when you startle me with the noise?"
Sebastian looked ruefully at the camera. They probably wouldn't, but he wouldn't find out until he'd developed them the next morning. Or maybe he'd stay up late, he usually couldn’t sleep for a while whenever Ominis left and he was alone with his thoughts again.
"Tea?" he asked, while Ominis settled himself on the seat in the bay window.
Ominis made a noise that probably meant “yes”- he’d be less grumpy and more talkative once he’d thawed out.
Smiling to himself, Sebastian was halfway through the door to the kitchen when Ominis found his voice after all.
“My mother wants me to stay at home for Christmas.”
“And will you?”
“Are you out of your mind? They’re barely tolerable any other time of the year.”
There was no need for further questions. They both knew where Ominis would be spending Christmas instead.
Things were good between them. Everything was fine. They could keep going like this. But Sebastian’s smile still dissipated as he filled the kettle and waited for the water to boil.
Ominis stayed at his house more than his own, but it wasn’t much of an escape. Regardless of what Ominis said, they both knew he’d have to show his face at the Gaunt Christmas dinner, at least briefly. And lately, the word “marriage” had come up during family dinners.
How many more Christmases would there be, until he was no longer Ominis sanctuary when he needed a break from his horrid relatives, until Ominis finally had the courage to leave them for good and make a life of his own, somewhere far away from him?
Until the only pictures he'd get to see of Ominis weren't the ones he took, but on Christmas cards taken of some happy family, involving the man he loved and a wife he didn't know, sent from some remote place in the world.
Probably with horrible lighting and from an unflattering angle.
The whistling of the kettle mercifully put an end to his thoughts. He poured the water in two cups and added the teabags.
When he came back to the sitting room, he found Ominis still perched on the window seat, legs tucked in and munching on his leftover biscuits again, illuminated by the afternoon sun streaming through the window.
He took a detour to the sitting room table where he’d left his camera and switched it for his own teacup, just in case.
“There you go. Careful, it’s hot.” Sebastian made sure to guide Ominis’ fingers to the handle, even as he burned his own fingertips a bit.
“It’s good,” Ominis said after taking a careful sip. Sebastian knew it wasn’t, not compared to what Ominis was used to- freelance photography didn’t pay that well. But he knew Ominis meant it.
They sat in silence for a while, Ominis sipping his tea, Sebastian mostly just staring, again, occasionally stealing a biscuit or two- he dimly remembered his own teacup sitting out of reach, but he didn’t care enough to get up.
He sometimes wondered if Ominis could feel his eyes on him, somehow. If he did, he never said anything. Sebastian knew he should feel at least a little bad for taking advantage of him like that, but that proved difficult when he could get lost in counting the pores on his skin instead, or the little lines next to his eyes that became more pronounced when he smiled.
He was in love with the way Ominis’ nose was ever so slightly crooked towards the left. He’d never figure out why, because if he wanted to, he’d have to ask- and he’d never say anything to Ominis that would make him believe he was less than perfect. The most perfect thing in the world. The only thing that was, and would ever be.
Ominis turned his head, and the way the light caught on his cheekbones made Sebastian’s stomach flip.
Without thinking, his hands came up again.
He couldn’t help it.
Ominis jumped again, almost spilled his cup, frowned in annoyance in spite of Sebastian’s quickly muttered apology.
“I honestly don’t know what there is to take pictures of in your own house. Has it changed in the five minutes you’ve been in the kitchen?”
“There’s you.”
“Again? I haven’t changed in the last five minutes either.”
Sebastian didn’t know what came over him. He should have laughed it off, changed the subject. Maybe it was the Christmas spirit that came over him. Maybe it was because the second box was starting to run out of space.
“I don’t want to forget,” he said softly.
Ominis frowned. “Forget what?”
“You.” Sebastian’s heart threatened to beat out of his chest. If he kept going, he’d eventually reach a point of no return, there would be no taking it back once he spilled it all.
“I don’t know how damaged your brain would have to be, we’re never apart for more than a few hours. We haven’t been since we were children.”
“Sure, but It won’t be like that forever, will it?” Sebastian asked. He didn’t know why, when he was so scared of the answer.
“Who says it won’t?” Ominis turned fully towards him now, the look on his face almost defiant. “I’m not going anywhere. If anything changes, it will be because of you.”
“How can you be so sure?”
“Sebastian, please. I thought that’d be obvious.”
He’d never seen that expression on Ominis’ face, it wasn’t in any of the pictures he ever took, but he knew it would be forever burned in his mind regardless.
Time slowed down to a crawl, and Sebastian didn’t know what to say, until the sound of his heartbeat in the oppressive silence forced the first stupid question he could think of out of his mouth.
“For how long?”
Ominis shrugged, turned towards the window. Sebastian suspected that the flush on his cheeks was no longer from the cold.
“For as long as I can remember, really. Maybe since the day we met.”
Was this real? What if it wasn’t, what if this was a huge, stupid misunderstanding, what if there was something in the damn biscuits and they were both hallucinating-
“Do you mean it?”
“Yes.”
Sebastian inched closer, curling his fingertips in the hem of Ominis’ sweater. Close enough to count his absurdly long eyelashes. Close enough not to miss the sudden shadow of nervousness and insecurity.
“I’m going to kiss you. This is your last chance to tell me this is a joke.”
“Just do it, you-”
Sebastian wouldn’t find out what he was.
Ominis’ lips were so soft it felt criminal, slightly chapped from the cold where they parted, and he tasted overwhelmingly like cinnamon biscuits.
It was all Sebastian ever wanted, and yet somehow still not enough. Before he knew what he was doing, he’d climbed on top of him, pressing Ominis up against the cold window. One of his knees ended up in between his thighs, and their lips kept moving against each other until they had to break apart because Sebastian stupidly forgot how to breathe through his nose.
“Sebastian-”
“Sorry, I’m sorry, I know this is too sudden-”
“No, the tea.”
Oh.
Ominis held his cup at an awkward angle, trying not to spill anything and not in a position to put it down anywhere, still caged in between Sebastian’s body and the window.
Sebastian took it and set it down on the floor in one swift motion, spilling half of it on the window seat cushion, but Ominis didn’t need to know.
“You’ll step on it later.”
“I honestly couldn’t care less.”
He didn’t even realise that his hand was still clutching Ominis’ sweater, until Ominis took it, guided it to his cheek, from where it wandered on its own. To the back of Ominis’ neck, then weaving through the strands of his hair, messing it up like he’d always wanted to.
There was nothing but the sound of their ragged breaths in the silence that followed. Both of them knew there was a conversation begging to be had, about what this meant, what would change, what were they now?
But their lips only moved to devour each other again.
And again.
Until Ominis took off his sweater. “Because it’s too hot,” he said, but the second it left his body, the last remnants of Sebastian’s sanity went with it.
His skin was as soft as it looked, pale and flecked with little beauty marks he could trace, straight down to-
It was ridiculous how quickly he’d gotten painfully hard, but Ominis clearly didn’t mind one bit, pulled him closer, let him feel how much he enjoyed it too.
Their kisses were getting sloppier by the second, with more tongue and teeth, mainly Ominis’, while Sebastian traced along the waistband of Ominis’ trousers. Slowly, hesitantly.
“I want you,” Ominis sighed, after a final bite on Sebastian’s lower lip.
Sebastian didn’t dare to ask how, exactly, or move, and it was Ominis who eventually broke the awkward silence.
“Do you have any, you know.” He seemed to struggle with the word. “...uhm, lube?”
Sebastian briefly choked on his own spit. “Lube? Why would I, I wasn’t expecting anything like this in my wildest dreams.”
It was too much all of a sudden, he hadn’t even thought about how far he wanted to take this, at least not as much as Ominis apparently had.
Ominis. Who’d bitten his lips raw, told him he’d never leave him, held onto him as they’d walked to his house- memories upon memories he could pull out of his mind like beads on a string, going further back in time, all little signs he’d missed because he’d been too self- absorbed, too busy feeling sorry for himself, dreading the loss of something he thought he’d never have, when all he ever wanted had been there, waiting for him-
Sebastian tried to awkwardly get up, just to clear his head for a second, but Ominis held onto him so tight he was sure he’d be left with finger shaped bruises as a memento.
“Don’t- just stay, keep going. I won’t last long anyway. Please.”
Of course he’d stay. He’d give him anything in the world, if he asked.
He kissed the little moles next to Ominis eyes, the ones he’d stared at thousands of times through the lens, never having dared to dream that he’d one day be allowed this close, to touch him, worship him like he deserved.
“If you’d rather wait-”
“No.” Sebastian finally made up his mind. “I’ve waited long enough.”
He pressed his hips into Ominis again, bit his own lip now, as he groaned from the pleasure.
Ominis’ hand was suddenly gone, reappeared a second later, squished between them, and before Sebastian could comprehend what he was trying to do, he felt his trouser button open.
All he could do was stare empty headed at Ominis face. Brows furrowed in concentration, eyes half shut as if in a trance, he’d never before looked this beautiful.
The first contact of skin almost finished him.
Sebastian pressed them together, chasing that feeling again and again, and then the world dissolved into nothing but Ominis bruising grip on his hips, their bodies moving together, sticky precum and his breath fogging up the window pane.
“Sebastian, I’m close-”
“Not yet.” Sebastian fumbled around for the camera, got sloppy in his movements and it made Ominis whine deliciously.
“Wait for me, just a moment.” He almost dropped it.
“Can’t-”
Seeing Ominis come undone because of him was the most beautiful moment in his life. Head tilted back, face screwed up in pure pleasure, back arched and releasing the filthiest moan.
He wanted this moment, their first time, just this once.
Then he followed him over the edge.
They laid tangled together, their combined release on Ominis stomach seeping into Sebastian’s shirt. He shot a guilty glance to his camera, knew he shouldn’t have done it, but it was just for him- no one else would ever know, or see.
“Will you get some?” Ominis asked sleepily.
“Hmm?”
“Lube. For next time.”
Next time. “I’ll make it your Christmas gift.”
Ominis gave him a slap on the arm.
“...that’s needlessly violent,” Sebastian complained, making sure to put an extra amount of pout in his voice.
“It’s nothing compared to what you’ll get if this-” Ominis flicked at the camera, “-ever sees the light of day.”
“Ah. You noticed?” Sebastian asked sheepishly.
“I wasn’t born yesterday.”
Sebastian snorted. “Fair enough. Probably didn’t turn out good anyway.” That earned him another slap, but he just laughed and buried his face in the crook of Ominis neck.
He’d just have to burn these moments into his memory, without the aid of his camera.
It was about time he learned to live in the present, anyway.

What Can Still Be Known
A/N: This is my submission for @wannab-urs Hozier Drabble Challenge... which I meant to have finished weeks ago, but since it's May the 4th, today seems like a good time to post it even if it is later than I originally planned. Thank you so much to Gin for putting this together! I love music prompts, so this was right up my alley. I can't wait to catch up on the other stories written for this event! Make sure you all go check them out, too! You can find them here.
Prompt: My song was Butchered Tongue from the album Unreal, Unearth, and my character was Din. I was delighted to get this prompt, because that song speaks to my soul. It's melancholic and beautiful, and I think it fits Din so damn well, so I hope you enjoy it!
Warnings: angst, mentions of canon typical violence, mention of death of parents/family, you know, Mandalorian stuff.
Word Count: 3,545 (oops.)
Summary: Din doesn't remember much about his parents or his life with them... but that doesn't stop him from wishing it were different.
Tumblr media
Nevarro’s sun burned bright and hot as Din crossed the scrubby stretch of flatlands that separated the town from the Mandalorian encampment. Shifting the crate he carried under one arm, he tilted his head down to where Grogu hopped along beside him, using the Force to propel himself every few steps to accommodate for his father’s much longer stride. The sight, along with the string of happy gurgles and babbles spilling from the kid’s mouth, made a smile sprout beneath the man’s helmet.
“It’s good to be back, isn’t it buddy?”
Grogu looked up at him and squealed happily, nodding and pointing one clawed finger at the semi-permanent settlement growing closer with every step they took.
Though the efforts to reclaim their homeworld had been successful, a small group of Mandalorians remained on Nevarro during the rebuilding process on Mandalore - mainly those responsible for teaching and raising the foundlings and other young children that were not yet ready to start their trials. There were two combat instructors, two teachers whose focus was on the tenants of the Resol’nare, one additional teacher who was responsible for teaching Mando’a, as well as a dozen or so students and their guardians. Eventually they’d all join the rest of their people on Mandalore, but until things were more solidly settled there, Nevarro was as safe an option for an outpost as could be found in the Outer Rim.
Din chuckled. “I’m sure your friends will be happy to see you again, too.”
That response sent the kid bouncing with excitement, hopping high enough so that he could fit in a flip before touching down again, the rondel and small pauldron he wore clinging together like chimes with his motion.
“Go ahead,” Din urged him, jutting his chin out in front of him. “You don’t have to wait for me. I’ll be right behind -” But the child was gone before the last word left his lips. He sighed and shook his head in amusement. “-You.” He watched through the tinted screen of his visor as Grogu darted towards the sparring grounds, no doubt in search of Ragnar.
It had been a few months since they’d been back on Nevarro, Din busy taking Grogu through his apprenticeship, teaching him skills that he would need in order to move on in his training. Tracking, hunting, navigation, survival, negotiation, just to name a few. Every lesson took them to a different planet, some of them coming with the added bonus of coinciding with a bounty or paid favor. The most recent one, a lesson in tracking on Rodia, had resulted in uncovering a stash of beskar ingots that had been defaced with an Imperial stamp.
Immediately after finishing up on Rodia - Din showing Grogu how to incapacitate an enemy without killing them - they’d taken the recovered beskar back to the Armorer on Mandalore, so that she could fashion it into new pieces for the foundlings. It was strange, but good, to see the glass encrusted planet so teeming with life. It was a relief to know that what his people had fought for for so long, what so many had given their lives for, was finally secure. Finally theirs.
But despite the fact that the Mandalorian people finally had a safe place to call home, Din had yet to feel that sort of connection with the planet. Unlike Bo-Katan, he hadn’t been born there, nor had he spent any time there as a child. He’d heard stories about what the Great Forge had been like in its glory, how lush the gardens of Sundari had been long ago. But to him, a foundling Child of the Watch who had never set foot on Mandalore until he was a grown man, they’d always felt like stories about some fictional, far off place. He wondered if that would change, if he would ever feel at home in a place that brought him no nostalgia or warmth.
A part of him hoped that it would. Because it wasn’t just Mandalore that he felt that absence of connection to. It was everywhere he went. A side-effect of losing every home he’d ever had, it turned out, was not knowing where your roots would grow if they could grow anywhere they chose.
He knew he had a home once. A true home, one where he could have collected a whole life’s worth of memories, enough of them so that when he returned there they’d all come rushing to fill his heart with warmth and welcome. He knew he had a family before the Tribe had become that for him, too. A mother and father who loved him so fiercely that they sacrificed their own lives to save his. When he closed his eyes and concentrated hard enough, he could still find their faces. His father’s was easier to recall because he himself wore so many of the same features. Every time he saw his own reflection he was reminded of the man who carried him through the battlefield that their village had become.
His mother’s face was more difficult to recall in detail, but that didn’t mean he had forgotten her. He remembered her thick, dark hair and the way it curled at her shoulders. He remembered the texture of the red robes she wore, remembered tracing the intricate pattern of woven stitching on the cuffs of her sleeves with the tips of his fingers. He couldn’t be sure, but he had the thought that he must have remembered these things because she was the one who comforted him when he was hurt, sad or scared. That what he really recalled when he thought of his mother was the feeling of safety and warmth that her embrace provided.
He remembered the tone of her voice, soothing but strong. His father’s was full and confident and always sounded like a smile was about to appear. He remembered that the two of them sang often. Sometimes he’d be hit with a snippet of a melody, the lyrics lost, turned to dust and ash like the rest of his homeworld, but he’d find himself humming and realize that it was one of the songs his parents used to sing.
The forgotten lyrics were only a small part of a larger loss, though. They were written in a language that had died when the population of Aq Vetina had been snuffed out. So he could remember his parents’ voices. He could remember the melodies they sang. But the things they said, the words they used, the meaning behind them? All of that was gone. For all the languages and means of communication he did know, the first one he’d ever heard and learned escaped him. And in all of his travels since leaving his homeworld in the arms of an armored stranger that had become his Buir, Din had never met anyone who spoke his native tongue.
It made him wonder if anyone else had survived the attack on his home that day, or if he was the last living member of a completely slain culture.
Before he could ruminate on that thought for too long, though, Azil, one of the combat instructors, saw him walking towards the sparring grounds and waved him over. “Olarom, Djarin!” He pointed at the crate Din carried, tilting his helmeted-head in question. “Gifts from home?”
The contents of the box shifted as Din handed it over, newly cast cuiresses ringing together in answer to Azil’s inquiry. “New beskar,” Din responded with a nod. “Freshly forged on Mandalore,” he added in answer to Azil’s question about where it came from. “I was told to deliver them to you for distribution to your students.”
Azil set the crate down and clapped one gloved hand to Din’s shoulder. “Vor entye, vod.”
Returning the gesture, Din did the same. “This is the Way.”
“This is the Way,” Azil echoed, and then immediately set about unpacking the box of armor, sorting it by size, leaving Din to see where Grogu had gone.
It didn’t take long for him to find his son. The long, green ears were a giveaway, sure. But so was the small crowd of other children gathered around to watch him levitate a black chunk of volcanic rock while Ragnar Vizsla practiced blasting it with training darts. With each successful hit, the other kids would cheer, a collective sound of amazement coming from them each time Grogu managed to evade the blast by redirecting the rock.
Din stood watching for a few moments, silently appreciative that these children had this opportunity to laugh and learn and grow together somewhere open and safe and free. He could remember playing similar training games and showing off new skills with the few other children in his covert, though then it was all done underground, in hiding. But he couldn’t recall the kinds of games he might have played with friends in his village. If there were any nursery rhymes or tall tales he might have known once, they’d long since faded from his memory.
It made him wonder if he’d eventually forget what little he could remember about his native culture. Would he lose it piece by piece? Until not even a familiar tune or the color red or his own reflection sparked any feeling? He hoped not, but it seemed inevitable.
At least, it had.
Suddenly - from a different group of children than the one gathered around Grogu, much to Din’s relief - a small child went darting by his boots, arms outstretched in front of her, the distinct sound of sniffles and cries trailing after her. Turning away from the training grounds, he watched as the child was scooped up by a woman who had just stepped out of one of the tents. He assumed that whatever sent the girl running was just the result of one of the other kids being a little too rough. Or perhaps one of Nevarro’s reptilian species had frightened the child. Either way, it was clear that there was no real danger and that the woman had things under control, so he started to turn back towards Grogu and Ragnar’s shenanigans.
But then he overheard the woman begin to soothe the young girl in her arms.
“Ny mo yariin, necta.”
It stopped him in his tracks and sent his head swiveling back in the direction it came from. His heart pounded beneath the elongated diamond stamped into the center of his chestplate as he felt something unlock in his memory.
He’d heard those same words before. So long ago that he was stunned when he recognized the phrase. So long ago that the meaning behind them was lost. But he knew they were spoken to him as comfort. He knew that they were words steeped in love. He watched the way the woman cradled the child to her armored chest, his eyes catching on the piece of red fabric that was pinned to the cowl of her flight suit.
No matter how impossible it seemed that the words he’d just heard had survived what a whole settlement of people hadn’t, no matter how unlikely it was that it was there of all places that he’d heard it, no matter how slim the odds were that the tattered scarlet linen was the same fabric that he remembered from his home, Din found himself drawn to her.
To you.
—  —  —
You were rewiring the com device in your helmet when you heard Tira’s cry.
Though you knew that she was probably fine - there were dozens of other Mandalorian adults present in the settlement, and you knew that none of them would allow any real harm to come to the children - you immediately set your work down and stepped outside, senses heightened. But as soon as you saw her running towards you, you relaxed. She wasn’t hurt or being chased. She’d likely just been knocked over by one of the bigger kids while they played one of their games. Tira was small, but didn’t like to be told that. And since her older brother had begun his trials and wasn’t there as often to make sure she didn’t get pushed around by the others, she’d been having trouble adjusting.
It didn’t help that less than a year ago, she and Maj had lost both of their parents in the battle to retake Mandalore, which is how the children had come to be in your care.
As a former foundling yourself, you were more than willing to step in and raise them as your own, just as the Mandalorian who rescued you the day your village was attacked and your parents were killed would have done had he not been able to reunite you with your kin. You’d been brought to Corellia, where your mother’s sister lived with her family, and they’d taken you in and raised you instead. It wasn’t until you became an adult that you rejoined the Mandalorians and took the Creed, choosing to commit your life to the very people who had saved it.
But though you mainly spoke Galactic Basic and were muddling your way through learning Mando’a, it was still your first language that came to you when you scooped a sniffling Tira into your arms and cradled her to your armored chest. It was still the words your parents - and then your aunt - had spoken to you when you’d been hurt or scared that you used to comfort the girl.
“Ny mo yariin, necta.”
You’re safe with me, sweet one.
You knew Tira and Maj didn’t speak Aquitto. They only knew the meaning of that one phrase because you’d taught it to them. And since your aunt had passed away, you knew that you were possibly the only person left in the galaxy who would even recognize it let alone speak it. As far as you knew, there hadn’t been any other survivors from your village that day. It struck you that every time you spoke it could be the last time it was ever uttered.
Pushing that thought from your mind, you focused on Tira, kissing her cheek and letting her clutch at the sculpted pin that held a piece of red fabric - a remnant of the hooded robe you’d been wearing the day you were rescued on Aq Vetina - in place on your cowl. The pin had belonged to your mother, the woman pressing it into your hand before disappearing to go try to fight off the monstrous machines with the rest of the village. As a child you would trace the design on it with your fingertip whenever she held you, whenever she made the same promise you were making Tira.
“Ny mo yariin, necta.”
By the time you’d said it a second time, the girl had stopped crying. The words themselves weren’t magic, but the sentiment in them was. Even if they were the last scraps of the Aquitto language to live on, you hoped that one day Tira or Maj would pass them along to a child who needed to hear them, too.
Whatever had brought on the sudden storm of tears had passed, and Tira wriggled in your hold as she caught sight of some of the other children watching as the Jedi foundling levitated chunky rocks for Ragnar to blast with darts. You chuckled at her eagerness to get back out there with the big kids. “Okay, necta. But watch out for yourself, got it?” You set her back on the ground, stooping down to her level and ruffling her hair. “I know you’re a tough one, but you still have to be careful.”
She nodded enthusiastically, telling you that she would be, and then she was gone, scurrying back across the crusty flatland towards the other kids. When you stood back up, you were met with the dark visor of Din Djarin - a man you’d never personally met, but who you’d heard a great deal about from the others in the settlement on Nevarro. You knew he was the Jedi foundling’s adoptive father. You knew he had previously wielded the Darksaber and that he was instrumental in helping Bo-Katan Kryze and the others take back Mandalore. You knew that he was responsible for reclaiming the beskar that your armor had been forged from.
– – –
“Oh, hello,” you greeted him, a small laugh in your voice that he figured was a result of the way he’d caught you off guard. You lifted a hand and reflexively tucked the piece of red fabric at your collar into place. “It’s Din, right?”
“Yes. Din Djarin. I’m sorry I don’t know your name, I-”
You waved him off and introduced yourself. Smiling, you pointed in the direction that the little one you’d just set down had run off in. “That’s your son over there, isn’t it? Tira was excited to see him.”
Din turned his head to follow your finger, though he didn’t need to look to know that you were indicating Grogu. “It is,” he confirmed, facing you again with a small shrug. “He likes to show off.”
You laughed at that. “I would too, if I could do what he can.”
“He’s a special kid,” Din replied, and you smiled again.
“He is.” You nodded, and it was clear to him that you were still unsure of why he had approached you. “Is there-”
“Can I ask you something?” He tilted his head, hidden eyes fixed on the fabric at your neck - and on the sculpted pin that held it in place, the designs so familiar to him he could feel them on his fingers.
You furrowed your brow, expression turning serious. “Of course. Not sure if I’ll be able to help you with it, but-” You held your hands up, palms to the sky. “Ask away.”
“The words you just spoke to that little girl… Tira?” You nodded so he went on. “How do you know that language?”
He watched your eyes widen with your blink. “You… You’re familiar with Aquitto?”
Din sighed, giving a slight shake of his head. “I didn’t even remember what it was called, but… Yes. Or, that phrase, anyway. How do you know it?”
You let out a breath. “I… I was born on Aq Vetina. It was the language my parents spoke. It…” Again your fingers came up to the pin and the fabric that it secured. “It was my first language. I was lucky that my aunt knew it, too, or else I would have forgotten it completely after our village was destroyed and-” Something dawned on you and your eyes widened again. “You said you were familiar with it?” He nodded. “How?”
You asked the question in a way that made him think you already knew the answer, but you needed - or wanted - to hear him say it. So he did. “Same as you. I was born there. It was my parents’ language. But I haven’t heard it spoken since the day droids raided our home.” He blinked, somewhat stunned that only moments before he had been mourning the loss of his native language and culture only to find a source of it right in front of him. “I didn’t know there were other survivors.”
Your mouth fell open slightly as you stared up into the visor that hid his eyes from view. When you spoke again it was quiet, your words equally full of disbelief. “Neither did I.” Your lips twitched into a small smile despite the way your eyes had started to water. “I’m glad we were both wrong, Din.”
“I am, too.” He felt a tightening in his chest, but it was unlike anything he felt before. It wasn’t from sorrow or anxiety, it wasn’t to alert him to a threat or caused by regret. It felt more like a connection forming - like meeting you had brought him closer to his own heart somehow. Instantly, a thousand questions popped into his mind for you, and he imagined you might have had some for him as well. But there was one thing he needed to know first. “Can you tell me what it means? What you said to Tira? My… I think my parents used to say it to me, and…” He trailed off, waiting for your response.
“It means, ‘You’re safe with me, sweet one.’” You smiled again. “It literally translates to ‘You’re in my heart’ though. It’s… It’s what you say to the people you love most.”
Just then, Grogu and Tira came tearing over, Din bending down to pick up his son and you settling your hand on the little girl’s head as she clung to your side. “Hey, Buddy. Remember when I told you about my parents and what I remembered about where I came from?”
“Patu.” His head moved up and down, ears flapping with his nod.
“Well, this lady comes from the same place that I do, and she just taught me how to say something in my old language. You wanna hear it?”
“Patu!” He spread his clawed fingers over Din’s chestplate.
Din looked over at you - at the warm smile on your face as you smoothed the little girl’s play-ruffled hair and gave him an encouraging nod - and then back down at Grogu. “Ny mo yariin, necta.”

i am looking for fics where, human or not, crowley and azi grow up being together being friends and turns to lovers ! thank you for your blessed job <3
Hi! We have #childhood friends and #friends to lovers tags, so check those out. Here are some to add to the collections...
Stronger Than Hurt by TawnyOwl95 (E)
Everything changed the summer that Crowley fell off the Eastgate's garage roof and broke his arm. Fourteen years later he stood outside a tattoo shop with a picture of the drawing Aziraphale Eastgate had done on his cast, and hoped for a second chance.
Christmas light by Tigerphoenix (T)
After years of neither hearing form his father nor sibling Crowley is convinced to return to his childhood home. He knew from the start it wasn’t a good idea, but he did it anyway. Maybe something good comes out of it. Aziraphale returns home to his family home every year for Christmas. But Christmas with nine people is exhausting. Nothing wrong with some time alone, right?
I scorn to change my state with kings by bearwonder (T)
They’d seem an unlikely pair, if anyone saw them from the outside — Crowley in black skinny jeans and Aziraphale in beige corduroys — but no one does, and that’s just how they want it. Crowley and Aziraphale meet in kindergarten. This is the story of their lives.
What About Hope? by AppleSeeds (M)
Crowley met Aziraphale in the spring of 1989 while he was on his lunchbreak from the factory, his attention immediately drawn to the posh boy sitting by the canal writing poetry. It was immediately obvious that they came from entirely different worlds, but the time they spent together was the happiest Crowley had ever known. With Aziraphale, Crowley experienced many firsts - his first kiss, his first love... his first heartbreak. Twenty years later, they are reunited when Crowley, now a successful writer and vlogger, comes to work as an Associate Lecturer in the university department where Aziraphale is an academic. Seeing Crowley brings back Aziraphale's intense regret for allowing himself to be persuaded to leave him behind all those years ago. Aziraphale desperately wishes to renew their acquaintance, but Crowley seems determined to keep his distance. Aziraphale can't blame him for not forgiving him, since he has never been able to forgive himself, but when Crowley begins to spend more time with him, Aziraphale is left with the hope that maybe they could at least be friends again - no matter how much it might hurt.
And a Silver Sixpence in His Shoe by smolalienbee (T)
If there is one thing to be said about Aziraphale Z. Fell is that he leads an ordinary, quiet life. He lives in Soho, London, above an old bookshop that he’s been fortunate enough to inherit in his late twenties. He likes sushi and good wine. He has a few friends - like Nina, who works at the coffee shop across the street; or Maggie, who runs the record store that he takes an absolute pleasure in frequently purchasing from. (He’s lonely. Terribly so. He’s been lonely for about ten years now, since - he does not want to think about that.) Today is his 35th birthday. At age 15, Aziraphale made a Promise. At age 25, he had an Earth-shattering fight with his childhood - and closest - friend. At age 35, that same friend shows up at his doorstep and suddenly, Aziraphale’s entire world is thrown upside down. A story of something unexpected, something old, something yellow, something stolen, something new and something promised. (It’s going to be a long week.)
Dancing in the Dark by Demonicputto (T)
In search of inspiration for his next album, rock musician Tony Jay is headed to London. It's not the atmosphere he's after, but a reunion with Ezra Fell, his dearest friend from childhood. A one sided, adolescent crush fueled Tony's first songs and, now that they're both older, he's hoping those feelings might finally be requited. But, Ezra may not be ready for that. In his eyes, their relationship is far more complicated. Unlike Tony, he remembers who they truly are: the demon Crowley and the angel Aziraphale.

Jimin - Muse (2024)
3/5 ☆
I thought it'd get me several days to come back here with some thoughts on Muse, but it proved it's not necessary.
Who as title track makes complete sense. We're still into 90s nostalgia, but it's a recipe that works. Not just in kpop, but pop in general. Looking at the charts, it paints a pretty clear picture for the last couple of years. Add the zoomer idea of a what a Y2K aesthetic is like and we get the recipe for today's music and concept. Repeat, reuse, recycle. How fitting for postmodernism.
Tumblr media
Who is a really catchy tune, with lyrics easy to remember and sing out loud. A tad more commercial-sounding than Like Crazy, but that's Muse overall anyway. The truth is, I have the song on loop (streamers can't come for me, lol). I think Jimin's style of singing and the melody itself are a good fit. Lyric wise, it's sort of basic, but this is pop music made for mass consumption. I don't mind it. It's also radio friendly and definitely has the potential for summer hit, but I'm 99% sure it won't turn into one. BH won't move a finger to send it to radio and it's another song that will fall victim to fandom mass streaming to chart high for one week. I've seen this all before.
It's also a shame to have this released when an artist is away, without being able to properly promote it. In my non-expert opinion, it could have been released as a single a few months later after Face and scratch the rest of Muse or keep it in the drafts.
As to the other songs, perhaps Rebirth (Intro) is the only other song on the album that has something to it, it stands out a bit more and it also bridges the two albums, despite the connection being sort of flimsy.
Having Sofia Carson on Slow Dance had brought nothing to the song. It could have been a full Jimin track all the way. Her style of singing does not stand out and I find it a failed pair because there's no contrast or voices complementing each other. Jimin can sing just like her. If a collab is really wanted/needed/necessary, then I'd wish for a pairing that also makes sense vocal-wise.
Be Mine is ok, but it sounds too much like that one TXT song and I simply can't get over past it. It's afro beat and latino influence which has been all the rage in the past few years, which Hybe has been pushing a lot. It explains the song.
SGMB and Closer Than This were previously released and I'm not covering them again.
I think it's difficult for me to not make comparisons to Face, considering both albums were produced around the same period, without much time left in between them. One is simply more cohesive and has a depth that showcases a first solo attempt, while the other one is clearly going a more commercial route with less of a personal signature.
Despite Muse being promoted as another conceptual album, I find that umbrella to be a bit forced given that the theme of finding love is really a generic one. Perhaps way too generic with not much individuality. Does it show Jimin's vocal range? Yes. Does it show him trying various genres? Yes. In this case, perhaps Muse is a bit similar to Golden in some aspects, with the difference that Jimin gets producing and writing credits in 5/6 songs. So his involvement is greater, but the scope of the album is in the same category as Golden, which is another production that had this LOVE as an overarching theme. But without much more to it that would make it stand out lyrically. The focus on both is genre diversity and vocal capability.
In short: I like Who (I also like Ace of Base songs and all those silly 90s pop songs, so my music taste is most likely considered bad, but I don't care). I think Muse overall is an amalgam of whatever is trendy at the moment, without being able to truly stand out and say more about Jimin, apart from his capabilities as idol/performer. Perhaps that was the point too.
P.S. My inbox has been closed for anonymous asks since I reblogged a few days ago my post about using lyrics as clues for personal life. It seems that it invited homophobia and I won't have that here.
I'm keeping it that way for now because I'm sure my personal "review" on Muse will either be seen as an invitation for people to either bash me for not thinking it's the album of the year or to be seen as an opportunity for others to talk shit about Jimin, Who and the album overall. I found that usually there is no middle ground with kpop stans/army/Jimin stans, etc.

August 2026
“Deep breathes, darlin’,” his hands were smooth against her shoulders, instantly calming her nerves. Y/n took a deep inhale, nodding as she slowly let the air leave her lips. Jake beamed at her, “This ain’t the first time you’ve been on stage. You got this.”
“I know, but performing on live television for millions of people is different than a few thousand in a venue,” she reminded him, feeling the anxiety return causing her to close her eyes. “It’s been six years since my last VMA performance, Jake. Also,” she nervously laughs, “This is the Vanguard award they’re giving me—I’m, quite literally, shitting my pants. I want this to be amazing.” To be fair the reason for her not being invited back to the VMAs was a mini break from music she went on after they got married in 2021. The birth of their children was another factor so it wasn’t until late 2025 that Y/n had released the music she’d been working on.
The break was much needed, but she was missing the stage, the touring, the fans. It was what kept her going and made her career worth it. Music was her life, but so was her family which is why she took so long to release an album. Now here she was years later about to step foot on the VMA stage for the first time in six years. Another thing that made it worthwhile was she was being honored with the MTV Video Vanguard Award. Leading up news outlets were covering her return and on the red carpet reporters were eager to know what Y/n was cooking up.
“And it will be,” he told her, cupping her face in his hands, careful not to mess up the gemstones and glitter around her eyes. She could feel the cool metal of his wedding band against her skin. “You are one of the best vocalists of our generation—the High Note Princess. One of the best stage performers of all time—it’s gonna be an amazing show. You’ve been working so hard for months,” he gives a comforting squeeze to her shoulders. “So just breathe with me and then you’ll go out there and sing your pretty little heart out. And it’s gonna be the best performance of the night.”
As she mentally prepared while waiting for the stage manager, Y/n leaned more into Jake’s arms and let her mind wander. Memories started to appear, reeling back to when her career kicked off all the way to when she met her husband and finally to the present day.
February 2008
Like any aspiring star, Y/n L/n made the rash decision to quit college and move to Los Angeles in hopes of achieving her goal of becoming a singer. Hollywood was calling her name, so she spent months applying to jobs in the area before finding a small studio apartment and packed up her little Honda and set sail for the city where dreams are made. Time would be the make or break factor if she stayed or retreated back home with her tail between her legs.
One year.
That was her deadline. One year to get a job at a label, get discovered, or possibly find something worth renewing her lease. Working as a singer at a jazz bar could possibly have one of the options come true. Again, it would take time before something happened.
Y/n wasn’t the only singer at the club. Another girl was on stage Monday’s, Wednesday’s, and Saturday’s whereas Y/n was booked Tuesday’s, Thursday’s, and Friday’s. The club was closed Sunday’s and the nights Y/n didn’t sing she was a server or bartender. The pay was good for the most part with her tips racking in more income than the biweekly check for singing and serving. Sometimes she’d get compliments from patrons, especially the older crowd saying, “You have such a unique voice—the way you have control and range makes me think you should be on the radio and not some little jazz club like this. Your talent shouldn’t be wasted, dear.”
The words and support always boosted Y/n’s confidence. Truly did it make her feel she could make it big. Actually break through into the industry. But that takes time and sometimes the opportunity arises when one least expects it.
Maybe she could audition for American Idol. Maybe she could upload videos on that new website YouTube. Maybe she could be bold and send some demos to labels, praying it would land on someone’s desk.
Or, someone important from said label would wander into the club.
That idea seemed like a far stretch. But just three months shy of Y/n’s deadlines she was approached by a gentleman after she finished her number one Friday night. A business card in his hand, he said, “Give me a call Monday morning, I’d like to set up a meeting to talk with you about your potential. Bring some demos if you have any.”
A notebook of songs in her hand and a CD of demos she spent the whole weekend working on, Y/n left Capitol Records that morning with a copy of her contract in hand and the promise of bringing forth the best music of her life. There were tears shed as she relayed the exciting news to her family back home. Her coworkers whom she adored threw her a party at the club in celebration that night. She wouldn’t leave the club just yet. Just because she had signed didn’t mean she would make it big in the long run. No, she decided to stay at the club until she at least was at the level where she could financially afford to.
The first time Y/n heard herself on the radio she broke into tears. It happened unexpectedly too. After packing up her car with two weeks worth of groceries that cost her entire paycheck Y/n switched the the radio to the pop station and was singing along to the tunes when she heard the beginning chords to her song, ‘Teenage Dream.’ Cars honked around after she slammed the brakes and abruptly pulled to the side of the road, eyes wide with her hands covering her mouth.
“You think I’m pretty without any makeup on. You think I’m funny when I tell the punchline wrong. I know you get me, so I let my walls come down, down.”
Y/n literally changed the channel just to change it back to make sure she wasn’t dreaming. That it was actually her song playing.
“Before you met, I was alright, but things were kinda heavy. You brought me to life, now every February, you’ll be Valentine. Valentine.”
“Let’s go all the way tonight. No regrets, just love. We can dance, until we die. You and I, will be young forever.”
“Oh my God!!!” She got out of her car just to scream while jumping up & down. People on the sidewalk were looking at her crazy but she didn’t care. Not when her own song was blasting from her car on the radio.
“You make me, feel like I’m living a Teenage Dream. The way you turn me on, I can’t sleep. Let's run away and don’t ever look back. Don’t ever look back.”
Y/n’s entire life took a 180 after that very day. Her talent agent and manager from Capital Records were calling her saying she was on the Billboard Hot 100. They were planning on releasing her second single earlier than planned in order to push up the release of her album. Every radio station was playing ‘Teenage Dream,’. There were days Y/n would be in a store and would hear in playing, causing her to break out in a grin.
Before long Y/n was getting calls left in right with her manager and publicist securing television appearances and interviews. Her second single ‘Firework’ was an instant hit, becoming a gold certified record in just a few weeks. People auditioning for X-Factor and American Idol were covering it. Videos being posted to YouTube. Then Y/n released ‘Last Friday Night,’, becoming a popular song for teenagers and young adults. The full album shot her off into stardom.
“SNL?” She dropped her muffin, staring wide eyed at her manager. “SNL wants me to perform?”
“I got Lorne Micheals on the phone—I literally have him on hold—and he’s awaiting your answer.”
“Tell him my answer is ‘fuck yeah!’”
“I’ll tell him…you said yes.”
The appearance on SNL only increased Y/n’s popularity. Following it was invitations to the Kids & Teen Choice Awards, the Billboard Music Awards and the MTV VMAS, in which she won Best New Artist at all shows and Song of The Summer at the TCA’s. The first time she won she was a stuttering mess, thanking the fans and people who voted for her and her family, managers, execs at Capitol Records all while trying not to cry on live television.
Then the 2009 Grammys happened. And she won Best Pop Album and Record of The Year for ‘Last Friday Night’. Her hands shook as she accepted the award from none other than Usher, trying not to fangirl as she approached the microphone. She was never gonna get used to meeting the people she admired.
“O-oh wow,” she stuttered over the screams, feeling the cool surface of the award in her hand. A Grammy. She was a Grammy Award winning recording artist. “This is the greatest honor I’ve ever received—bigger than when I graduated with high school honors,” she laughed nervously, causing people in the crowd to smile at her. “Huge thank you to the Recording Academy for this award. It’s an honor to be part of a group with so many artists I admire—some of whom I’ve listened to for years a-and I can’t believe I have the privilege of being in your presence. I-I wanna take a moment to thank everyone at Capitol Records, my managers Raven and Paul. To everyone who helped me on this album who put their heart and soul into it—this award is not just mine it’s yours. To my family watching at home, I know you’re all losing your minds in front of the tv,” she grinned at the laughs around her, “I love you all so so much and thank you for your support—helping me get to where I am. I’m sorry if I forgot anyone else—t-there telling me to wrap up—b-but thank you—thank you so much for this, I’m so blessed and honored—I can’t even put it into words. Thank you!”
All of 2009-2010 was dedicated to her second album. Y/n was in the studio, writing songs on napkins when she was out with friends, mentally hearing the tunes in her head. She presented and performed at award shows and she went on tour. The goal was to have the songs ready and written by the time the tour ended. Luckily she achieved that goal with at least twenty potential for an album. Anytime Y/n found inspiration she made sure to write it down as quickly as possible.
Now with two Grammys under her name, one of which was for her debut album, the pressure was on.
“This is totally different from what you’ve been doing,” her producer said to her after reading the songs.
“I know, that’s the whole point,” she gave a pointed look, “I don’t want everything to be or sound the same. This is gonna have a different sound than what we did last year. Trust me it’s gonna be big.”
Might as well call her psychic cause that’s exactly what she was.
“It’s been a great week for popstar Y/n L/n, her recent single ‘Summertime Sadness,’ has shot to the top spot of this week’s Billboard Hot 100. A new sound that’s more mellow than her previous work, it’s been well received by fans and critics. L/n is finishing up the American leg of her world tour and is set to release her second studio album in the fall. Just two years ago L/n became an international star after winning two Grammys for her debut album and appearing on television such as Saturday Night Live, Ellen Degeneres, and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. With her unique voice and style she’s been viewed as the next pop diva, joining that of Madonna, Britney Spears, and Lady Gaga.”
‘Video Games’ was released when the tour concluded and it became her best single to date. The music video was played on MTV early in the mornings and predicted to be nominated for every award one could think of. It was that single combined with the critical acclaim from her album in 2011 that had Baz Luhrmann calling Y/n to write a song for his upcoming 2013 movie ‘The Great Gatsby.’
“And the Oscar goes to….” Y/n’s hand clutched her manager’s, keeping a calm face since the camera was panned on her and the other nominees. In Halle Berry’s hand was the envelope with the winner of the 2014 Oscar for ‘Best Original Song.’ Heart pumping out of her chest, she barely registered her song and name leaving the actress's lips. “Young & Beautiful,’ by Y/n L/n.”
Baz jumped from his seat, as did her manager and producer, the latter of whom she was sharing the Oscar with. A hand flew to her mouth, feeling her arm tugged as they lifted her from her seat while the theater erupted in applause. It felt like she was floating when she approached the stairs, taking the arm of her producer when he offered her help.
“Congratulations,” Halle said, opening her arms for a congratulatory hug before handing the gold statue to the singer. Y/n let out a mix of a sob and laugh as she replied, “T-thank you.”
Another statue was presented to her producer, Y/n waiting for the applause to end until giving her speech.
“O-oh my God, I just met Halle Berry,” there were some chuckles, the singer pausing to hold a hand to her thumping heart while the other clutched the Oscar. “I-I don’t know how to start. First, thank you to the Academy foremost—it’s an honor to be receiving this recognition. Shout out to the other nominees and their incredible work—you all are amazing and we’re so lucky to be almost you all. We all have one major thing in common, and that’s music. Music and movies bring people together—it’s a universal language that we get to be a part of and I am so grateful everyday for being a part of it. Thank you to Baz for allowing us this opportunity—it was so fun working on this song for you and your spectacular film. This Oscar is for you, Baz,” she saw the director blow a kiss from his seat. “Thank you to my producer, Tim—who’s standing right next to me. The magic behind Young & Beautiful, Tim you are a genius and I love you so much. Lastly, to my family back home—ah!” She waved the trophy like a little kid, “Look! I love you all so so much—thank you and I can’t wait to celebrate with you when I come home. Thank you everyone!”
Each year came with more success. The rest of 2014 going all the way to 2016 was nonstop energy. She was working day and night, touring, performing on talk shows, collaborating with other artists—like Taylor Swift, Nicki Minaj, The Weekend, & Justin Bieber—and dabbling in acting jobs. Y/n secured roles in films like The Greatest Showman, The Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials & Death Cure, & The Shape of Water. Some television roles included MTV’s Teen Wolf, American Horror Story and guest appearances on Criminal Minds, Greys Anatomy, and Doctor Who. Her role on AHS garnered her an Emmy for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. After the award show her manager told her with a wink, “All you need is a Tony and you’re part of the EGOT club.”
EGOT. The ‘grand slam’ in show business. Where only more than a dozen people have achieved the status in which they have won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony. The biggest awards in television, music, film, and theater.
After she heard that….well you could say Y/n was on a mission.
She continued to release music while pursuing acting. She leased her third and fourth studio albums in the span of eight months—a rare sighting for an artist. Both broke records in their own right. ‘Break Free,’ was playing in every club and ‘Imagine’ was used in Riverdale. She won the Grammy for best Pop album once again and performed ‘Imagine’ at the show. The second it was revealed she got the role of Christine in Broadway’s Phantom of the Opera, the buzz was already on if she would achieve EGOT status if she was nominated for the Tony.
The show opened in early 2017, selling out at a rapid rate with people coming from all over the country solely to watch Y/n perform. She already showed the world she was a brilliant singer and actress, now it was time to combine the two.
Never did she think she’d meet the love of her life at a show.
Jake Seresin wasn’t much of a musical man, but his sister and nieces were so he sucked it up and attended with them. Now Jake wasn’t living under a rock, he damn well knew who Y/n L/n was and frankly the man was a fan. A lot of his exes were fans of the popstar so he was quite familiar with her music and even enjoyed her acting. So of course he was more keen to the idea of going to a Broadway show if it meant he got to see her perform live.
What he didn’t expect was to—literally—run into her on his way back to the hotel. After telling his sister he’d pick food up since her daughters were too tired to go to a restaurant, Jake took a shortcut which happened to be the alley between the show venue. The bag in his hand dropped, the pilot falling to his ass when the door suddenly opened and hit smack in the face.
“Oh my God, I’m so sorry!” A voice shouted followed by a gasp. “Are you okay, sir? ‘Please don’t have blood-please don’t have blood.’
“I’m fine,” he moaned, shaking his head a bit and feeling for any sign of a wound. Thankfully he found none. “It’s alright, ma’am.”
“Here let me,” she helped him up, Jake stumbling a bit and apologizing when he bumped into her. “Are you sure you’re okay? Do you need me to call an ambulance in case you have a concussion?”
“No, no,” he insisted, finally looking up which only resulted in him freezing. The woman he watched on stage not even an hour ago was standing in front of him. “Oh wow.”
Y/n was frozen too, for he was the most attractive man she’d ever laid eyes on. The glow from the street light shined down on him, illuminating his green eyes and blonde hair. His bone structure was what most Hollywood heartthrobs would die for. Come to think of it he could literally pass as a young James Dean.
“H-hi,” she smiled, feeling a bit flustered all of a sudden. It didn’t help that he was still holding onto her shoulders, and she was clutching his forearms.
“Hi.” Gosh even his voice was attractive. A southern accent could be made out with the simple word.
“I’m so sorry for not looking before pushing the door out like that. I—,” Y/n cut herself off when she spotted the discarded bag of what appeared to be food. Some of it spilled out causing guilt to fill her, “Oh gosh, I’m so sorry about your food.” Stepping away she reached into her bag to pull out her wallet. “How much was—.”
“Don’t worry about it,” Jake says, but the singer shakes her head.
“No I insist,” she takes out a random amount of bills which was likely triple what he had actually paid but she didn’t care. She extended her hand out with the cash, “I rammed a door into you and made you drop your food. Please let me make it up—otherwise I’m gonna have to drag you to the place you got it from and replace it myself.”
Jake couldn’t help but smile, taking the cash and examining it before only keeping the amount he had originally paid. “No need to give me more than what it was worth. Here,” he hands back the extra, making her frown but she takes it regardless. Her eyebrows then raise when he goes, “But you could make it up to me in another way?”
Tilting her head, she can’t help but say, “How so?”
“By having a drink with me. If you’re available.”
So that’s how Y/n L/n met her soulmate. By hitting him face first with a door. He literally fell for her if one thought about it—pun intended.
What made it even better was Broadway not only gifted her future husband, but her status as an EGOT winner.
“Last night was a record breaking night for popstar Y/n L/n. The 30-year-old singer and actress has become one of just over a dozen to join the prestigious EGOT Club after winning the Tony for her Leading Actress in a Musical for her role of Christine in Broadway’s Phantom Of The Opera. L/n won the Grammy for Best Pop Album and Record of The Year in 2009 followed by the Oscar for Best Original Song in 2014 for The Great Gatsby. She then went on to appear in several television series including the popular horror series American Horror Story in which she won the Emmy for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. It was rumored L/n would venture into Broadway to possibly add a Tony to her collection of numerous awards, confirming this in mid-2016 when the cast for the 2017 run of Andrew Webber’s Phantom Of The Opera was released. Classically trained as a child, the popstar showed she can belt a lyric and hold a tune. It was a spectacular night for Y/n L/n, receiving a standing ovation when her name was called for the award and dedicating the Tony to her family, friends, cast members, and managers who’ve been with her since her debut in the music industry almost a decade ago. She is one of the youngest stars to ever achieve EGOT status and the fastest ever in a career.”
Many many songs were inspired by her relationship with Jake. Her entire album released a year after they got together was basically a love letter to him. ‘Love Song’ was regarded as her most beautiful record to date, a source for many fan-made videos for their favorite fictional characters and features in movie soundtracks. ‘Love Me Harder,’ & ‘34+35’ had fans go crazy with how frisky they were. Though their relationship was a secret it was obvious the popstar was in love. It only made fans want to know who was the special man to take her heart.
Jake learned pretty early on the price that came with dating a critically acclaimed songwriter: that if messed up there would be a song about it.
Immediately speculations arose that Y/n and her secret partner were broken up with the release of songs like ‘Woman Like Me,’ & ‘Power.’ She had to get on instagram one day to settle the rumors with a picture of their interlaced hands saying, “You drive me wild sometimes, but my love for you overpowers all.”
Their relationship was eventually exposed when Jake appeared in her music video for ‘Secret Love Song,’ released just shortly before he was set to return to Top Gun. People could easily tell the chemistry between Y/n and her ‘love interest’.
Maybe a little too much chemistry.
Dedicated fans were able to find out who Jake was in less than a week. Matching up his social media post locations and dates with hers, they didn’t even need them to confirm their suspicion to know they were together.
“I guess the cat’s out of the bag,” Jake chuckled, showing Y/n his phone screen with a picture that was just sent to TMZ of the two in San Francisco.
Y/n simply shrugged, “I’m fine with it if you are. I’m happy we got to keep it to ourselves for this long. And considering people are now asking about this—,” she held up her left hand, flashing the diamond engagement ring Jake spent his entire year’s paychecks on. “It was bound to happen sooner or later.”
Was Jake still the arrogant, egotistical pilot amongst his peers? Yes. But was he the type to boast about how he was engaged to one of the best musical artists of the century? Surprisingly no.
He actually enjoyed keeping that little detail a secret. To Jake his personal life was for him and him only. And he didn’t want people going around saying he was a gold-digger or wanting to be that guy who got to say he hooked up with a celebrity. Nah, he was in love with Y/n with his entire being. She was the gravity that kept him down to Earth. Sure they bickered like any couple but never once did either of them cross a line.
The only time they ever had a big argument was when he did get jealous over one of her former co-stars trying to have a shot at her. Y/n tried brushing it off saying it was nothing, but Jake could tell the signs and it upset him Y/n was not taking him seriously. “I just don’t see why you’re being so childish about a dinner party that’s gonna have multiple people.”
“Have you even asked who else is coming? Or wondered why he’s started texting you more when you guys finished filming ages ago? I’m not trying to be insecure or jealous, Y/n, but I know when a guy is trying to flirt. He didn’t even acknowledge me as your date when we were at the premier party. In fact I don’t think he said hello to me when he approached. All his eyes were was on you—which I don’t blame because you’re the most beautiful woman on the planet—but trust me, I know that look because I have it every second I’m with you.”
Needless to say you didn’t go to that dinner party and instead were doing what ‘Love Song’ was about the entire weekend.
When Jake goes to Top Gun for the special detachment, he’s still the arrogant asshole the others thought him to be. But if they were being honest they could see a difference in him. Maybe it was because he wasn’t flirting with anything with legs. Maybe it was the fact he rejected the drink from a pretty blonde. Maybe it was because they caught him smiling at his phone whenever he got a text. Whatever it was, they wanted to find out.
The only person in the detachment who knew of Y/n was Javy considering he was Jake’s best friend. She met him roughly eight months after she and Jake got together after much discussion. Their relationship was still a secret by then so they were hesitant to let anyone besides her team know, but Javy was an important person to Jake. He wanted his best friend to know the woman he loved.
Natasha being the amateur sleuth she was pretty much discovered Jake’s secret in a few days, “No fucking way.”
The evidence was presented to Jake during their lunch break the day after she found out, Nat holding the phone up for him to see. She literally watched the gears turn in his head, a sly smirk forming on his lips. “What about that, Trace?” The question caught the attention of their colleagues, who were trying not to show they were eavesdropping.
“Is that not you?” Nat looked at the screen to make sure it was on the zoomed in image of him and Y/n L/n. The entire music video Jake’s face was pretty much hidden from view, but briefly his face could be made out at certain angles.
“It is,” he shrugged, going back to his sandwich. A cluttered sound indicated Nat had dropped the phone on the table, scrambling to pick it up.
“So you just casually ended up in Y/n L/n’s music video for her iconic song?” By now heads turned, expressions of absolute shock. Well all except Coyote. He just raised his brows at Jake while holding back a laugh, wanting to see what he would say.
“No, I ended up in my fiancé’s music video for her iconic song.”
“You’re what?!”
“Babe, I got a favor to ask you,” Jake’s voice was tainted with exhaustion when he FaceTimed Y/n that night. She was at their Fresno home since he was stationed at NAS Lemoore and was planning to meet him in San Diego that weekend. Raising a brow at him through the screen she could tell he looked apologetic.
“What is it?”
“You think you could come down earlier than planned?” At her reaction he explained, “My detachment found out about us and well……they’re accusing me of photoshopping the photos of you and I—even though they literally saw us make out in your music video. And I want to prove to them I’m telling the truth.”
A moment passed and then Y/n burst into laughter to the point of tears. What got her was the photoshopping accusation.
“Stop laughing,” he pouted, “I’m fighting for me life out here—I could use some backup.”
“My goodness, Jake Seresin,” she calmed down, shaking her head at his butt hurt expression. “You’re something else you know?”
“So does that mean you’re coming?”
“I’ll book my flight for the morning as soon as we get off.”
One could envision the confusion on the pilots/WSOs when Jake prevented them from leaving the airstrip at the end of the work day. It was pushing five in the afternoon, they were tired and hungry, and honestly could care less about what Jake had to show them.
That was until the black SUV with tinted windows pulled up to the parking lot where they were standing. When the door opened jaws dropped to the floor with eyes bulging out at the person emerging from the vehicle. Who happened to jump into Jake’s awaiting arms. Fanboy had to rub his eyes to make sure he was seeing clearly. That it was Y/n L/n sharing a kiss with the resident asshole.
“Oh my God he wasn’t kidding,” Rooster said with a mix of awe and disbelief. Javy patted him on the chest, moving first to greet the popstar who shocked the pilots again with her warm welcome to them. None knew how to react when the couple approached hand in hand.
It’s not everyday someone meets a fucking EGOT winner.
“Hello,” Y/n smiled a dazzling grin, drifting her eyes over each of them and committing their callsign to memory. She could tell what they were likely thinking, ‘How the hell did Hangman manage to pull a fucking popstar?’ And ‘He must be brainwashing her, blink twice if you need help,’ kind of stuff.
Introductions were in store as well as explanations for how the couple came to be. In all the years they knew the pilot, none could’ve predicted that kind of secret. They quickly learned Y/n was not the typical celebrity—some of them were even ashamed to think she’d be stuck up, arrogant, snobbish. They were almost convinced the personality she had in interviews and fan interactions were fake, but Y/n was a truly genuine person. Not only did she come from humble beginnings, but she was a hard, driven worker who truly earned everything she’s gained.
And she was perfect for Jake. They were like two peas in a pod, with Y/n being the only one who could bring him back down to earth. Truly was an amazing thing to witness and the daggers were having trouble comprehending it at times. Hearing the story of how the two met brought tears to Rooster and Fanboy’s eyes by how funny it was, while Phoenix was covering her mouth to hide her smirk at how embarrassed her colleague was.
“In my defense,” he puts his hands on his chest when Bob asks why he thought to pass the side door, “I didn’t expect anyone to still be inside and potentially use that door.”
“He just hates when I tease him about how he literally fell for me,” Y/n winks, making them all smirk.
Later on in the night after going to the Hard Deck for drinks and pool, Rooster says, “You know I feel I won’t be able to use my karaoke song if we ever go cause I’ll be too flustered to sing a song in front of the person it’s written by.” Y/n couldn’t help but blush, giggling lightly.
“What is it?”
“Last Friday Night. Such a banger—really gets the crows going.”
Even after the Uranium mission happened, the daggers continued to remain in contact. Many were offered jobs of instructors but the real surprise came a couple months later from the Pentagon asking if they could remain a permanent team. Selling their San Francisco home, Jake and Y/n moved to San Diego, which was better since it was closer to L.A. The team hung out often with Friday nights reserved for the Hard Deck.
Y/n even found musical inspiration with them.
“So I have a proposal,” she hums to Nat and Callie one day while the guys are playing football on the beach. “Not a marriage one Jake claimed that one already,” she pauses when they all laugh at the joke, “but a ‘if you want to be a part of it I would love it if you did but I understand if you can't be’ kind of one.”
Nat tilts her head curiously, Callie mirroring her, “What is it?”
“I wrote a song….that you two helped inspire,” Y/n smiles at their expressions, “and I’d love for you both to be in the music video after I release it.”
Nat loses it, “OH MY GOD YOU WHAT?!!”
“Can we hear it!?” Callie blushes, “I’m so honored—oh my God I literally don’t know how to react to that.”
“Girl you cannot just drop that on us,” Nat playfully points with narrowed eyes, “If you weren’t Jake’s soon to be wife I would marry you right now.” Y/n just laughs, rummaging through her bag to find her notebook to show them the song.
“If he messes up you’ll be the first to know and we can head to the courthouse.”
“Don’t play with me now, Y/n,” Nat shakes her head. “No man has ever done something like that. Write a song inspired by me?” She gives a dramatic sigh. “Feels like I’m living in a romance novel.”
Both read the song, both fell in love with it and pretty much cried. It was empowering, motivational, a love letter to women, everything they wished they heard growing up in a field where men dominated and looked down upon them. Y/n made sure to keep them updated when she was in the studio, allowing them to hear it first before it was released.
2020 was a year no one could’ve expected.
It started off great with the singer releasing ‘Salute,’ shortly after the New Year and filing the music video in February. The song was well received from fans and critics, with people already calling it the ‘anthem of the year.’ Jake loved it and would send clips of him in the car to Y/n belting the lyrics. The guys all loved it too and loved that their colleagues were the source of inspiration.
Halo and Phoenix were part of the MV as well as women who in real life were doctors, nurses, lawyers, teachers, athletes, students, astronauts, & scientists from all ages, races/ethnicities, genders, etc. Not all of them were in the armed forces, but a couple were along with Nat and Callie. Special permission from the Navy & Top Gun was needed to put cameras in the F-18’s on the exterior and interior to capture footage of the two flying. Halo was Nat’s backseater for that day and the guys came out just to watch and support.
Released just before March, the music video hit 100 million views in less than 12 hours. It only grew from there with people praising Y/n and the women included in the project. There was talk of ‘Salute’ being nominated for the upcoming awards, Team USA asked permission to use the song for promotion for their women athletes for the upcoming Games. Y/n was over the moon, really looking forward for what the year held. Especially with her wedding around the corner.
Then the world shut down. Literally.
A global pandemic altered everything and everyone. Anything that required a group of people ranging from small to stadium level was banned. States were on curfew and not letting people cross borders, international traveling was restricted. Lockdown was mandated for pretty much everywhere to the point Jake was working from home for a couple months.
In that time Y/n threw herself into writing songs to release her next album. Her reason: she was in need of a break. Not a ‘I’m retiring from music,’ but a ‘I’m drained and in dire need of taking time for myself and start the family I’ve always wanted.’ It was always her plan for after she and Jake got married, just to have a few years for themselves and see where life takes them.
Thankfully when the pandemic hit Y/n was already done with her collaboration with Lady Gaga. The fellow popstar had been her friend since she joined the industry and it was a long time coming for the two to work together. Not to mention they were on American Horror Story together. The Mother Monster approached the High Note Princess in late 2019, both sharing ideas and writing the song together before recording to release in 2020. Filming the music video, they combed both of their aesthetics and styles to create a pop masterpiece.
Fans went crazy. They loved the return to classic pop when both singers had gone off to pursue acting careers and change their sound a bit. Many felt deprived of being able to dance to ‘Rain On Me’ in a club since going out was restricted. And you can best believe the Daggers felt the same—especially Rooster who loved to dance his ass off, “I would be tearing it up right now if Rona wasn’t such a bitch.”
Surprisingly the 2020 VMAs still happened. It was roughly six months after the outbreak and very strict regulations were in place for the show to go on. With ‘Rain On Me,’ being so popular and popstars releasing albums, Y/n and Lady Gaga were invited to perform. After prepping for weeks and self-quarantining, the daggers all gathered around at the couple’s home to watch the live show. Lady Gaga was the first to perform solely when it was their turn, then Y/n joined causing the select few in the crowd to cheer—with her friends and loved ones going crazy in their living room. All were in awe when she hit a high note, killing it with the choreography and honestly being the best performers of the night. Finally Lady Gaga left the stage with her dancers allowing Y/n’s to appear in time for the popstar to sing ‘Salute.’ At the house, Halo and Nat were dancing along and belting the lyrics with the guys while recording the performance on their phones.
“Sisters, we are everywhere! Warriors, your country needs you! If you’re ready, ladies, better keep steady, ready, aim, shoot! Don’t need ammunition, on a mission—now we hit you with the truth! Divas, queen, we don’t need no man, SALUTE!!”
2021 came with hope and breaths of fresh air. A vaccination was developed, restrictions were lifted in most locations meaning Y/n and Jake could finally plan for their wedding. It took a few months to plan, desiring an intimate private wedding at their home with their close friends and family. The daggers were all there, including Maverick, Cyclone, Warlock, and Hondo. Their families were all there as well as Y/n’s managers & agents, some cast members from the shows/films she grew close to, as well as artists like Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, Alicia Keys, David Guetta, and The Black Eyed Peas, the Jonas Brothers, & Miley Cyrus.
A sweet ceremony, Y/n squealed when Jake tipped her back to the cheers of their loved ones as he kissed her passionately. “I love you so much, Y/n. Or should I say, Mrs. Seresin.”
“I love you too, Mr. Seresin,” she kissed him again, “Now let’s show them we’re the life of the party.”
Rings on their fingers, grins plastered their faces when they ran through the Arch of Swords the guys of the Dagger Squad set up on the aisle. Then came time for the reception. Jake presented Y/n with a sword, per military tradition, to cut the cake and Y/n poured the champagne over the tower of glasses. They had their first dance, which Javy made sure to do his best man duties and record everything.
Which came in handy when it was time for Y/n’s surprise for Jake.
Seating him in a chair at the front of the dance floor, Y/n smirked at his confused expression as she took the mic from the DJ, calling everyone's attention. “All of you know I’m one for surprises. And tonight is no exception,” biting her lip she signaled for her maid of honor, who started rounding up the bridesmaids. “I thought it would be great to give Jake a little treat tonight—do not take that the wrong way, I can already see your minds going somewhere,” she pointed at the daggers who were hollering, giggling as she continued, “Stop it. Anyways, we’ve been cooking up this little number for the past month and now it’s time to let it shine. Baby, this is for you.”
Jake slapped a hand to his mouth containing his expression of glee when the opening chords to Y/n’s ‘Power’ echoed through the speakers. Her bridesmaids got into place, the singer discarding her veil and moving to the center. Everyone was on their feet hooting and hollering, capturing the performance on their phones for memory. Javy even put the phone right up in Jake’s face, Payback slapping the pilot on the back as the others whistled and danced. Just the expression of his mother and family sent Jake into tears of laughter.
She was flabbergasted. Unlike his sister and brother who were having the time of their lives witnessing the masterpiece that was Y/n practically seducing her husband live and singer her own song.
“I don’t think she’s heard this song until now!” He shouted over the music to the phone, blushing when Y/n winked at him. To be fair, the bridge of ‘Power’ was a little on the frisky side and Y/n was edging closer to Jake until she was basically in his lap.
“Don’t be fooled, I got you wrapped up. In the arms of an animal—get you thinking that I’m all innocent. But wait ‘til I get you home. If you don’t, baby, you should know. I’m the one who’s in control.”
Hell yeah she was in control when she got home that night….well at least for a few rounds she was.
Sadness came with the announcement of her break from music. The hot topic for media outlets, Y/n had released a statement on Twitter and Instagram confirming the suspicions many had after her wedding. Fans were understandably upset that their favorite artist wouldn’t be releasing new material until further notice, but they’d rather have Y/n at her best and not give half ass energy in her work. She was burnt out. It was time for a break after 13 years with six albums, each with their own tour. Don’t get her wrong, the popstar loved to be on the road, but after a while she was ready to just stay home for some time without planning for what was next.
In the meantime she sold songs for other people, collaborated on writing with artists, and acted when filming was either in L.A or San Diego. She and Jake were happily married, little to no financial stress or personal issues, and were ready to expand their family. By mid 2025 they had/adopted two kids, two dogs, and a cat. They were a full house with no dull days whatsoever.
“Are you going to get back in the studio like you mentioned the other week?” Jake asked at dinner, helping cut his son's food into smaller pieces.
Y/n nibbled on her floor while also assisting their daughter, “Yeah I think this weekend I’m gonna call Jack up and see what his schedule is like. I got some lyrics I’d like him to read.” Sipping on her drink briefly she then asks, “How long do you think this next mission is going to be?”
“Probably a week or two. Mav is working out the details and hopes to tell us Monday. I just pray I’ll make it in time for your birthday.”
Y/n feels her heart skip, giving a soft smile, “You know I understand if you can’t, honey. If the Pentagon is tasking you then you know it’s important. We’ll celebrate either before or after you get back,” she assured, reaching over to hold his hand when he frowned.
“I just hate the idea of missing it, you know? It’s your birthday and I missed our anniversary last year,” he pauses to sigh, “I just hate leaving you guys for so long. And I never wanna make you feel like you’re always alone.”
“I knew what I was getting into when we fell in love. Don’t feel like you’re missing out or I’m going to suddenly start giving ultimatums because you know I’m not that person. If it was our anniversary or another memorable date I would still feel the same. You have a job, Jake, you’re the best there is to do it. There will be plenty more birthdays for us to be together for.”
Being back in the studio felt like a whole new world. It had been nearly five years since her last single was in late 2020. When Jake was working the kids would come with her and be the stars of the crew, playing in the mini play area they had set up while Y/n was recording. Besides the people she worked with, only Jake knew she was releasing new music. Quite literally Y/n did not announce anything until the night before with a single Tweet and Instagram post with the art cover and the caption, “Tomorrow at midnight, Between Us.”
She broke the internet to put it lightly.

August 2026
18 years in the music industry and the rush before a live performance had Y/n pacing backstage during the commercial break of the VMAs. Their children were being occupied by her manager while Jake helped her mentally prepare. He was going to be the one to present her the award at the end of her set, so they were just waiting for the green light from the stage manager. The performance was going to be nearly ten minutes, the longest she’s ever done live on an award show since it was going to be a medley of some of her classic hits while also including ‘Between Us’. Lady Gaga, Y/n’s close friend and who collaborated with her again on her most recent album, was going to introduce her.
“Deep breaths with me, baby,” Jake held her in his arms, kissing her forehead. “I can feel you shaking. But once you get on stage it’s gonna be like you never left.” Taking a strong inhale, Y/n let it out slowly before repeating.
“I know it probably won’t happen,” she starts to laugh, “but I can’t help but dread the idea of me falling on my ass or forgetting my lyrics.” Jake laughs with her, shaking his head while pulling away to look at her.
“Knowing you, you’d fall gracefully and make it look like it was intentional. Also you mumble those lyrics in your sleep…you won’t forget them.”
She leans more into him just as the stage manager yells, “You’re on in five, Y/n!” The commercial break must have ended. Lady Gaga was already being pulled on stage after wishing the popstar good luck with a hug and friendly kiss to the cheek. “We need you over here please.”
“That’s your cue,” Jake grins, cupping his wife’s face before bringing her in for a passionate kiss. Y/n smiles into it, nuzzling their noses together causing him to chuckle. When they pull away he says, “Go out there and have fun. Bottom line, baby, have fun out there and sing your heart out. I’m so lucky and honored to be your husband and share this life with you. Don’t start crying,” he playfully scolds when her eyes tear up, “you’ll ruin your nice makeup your team worked so hard on.” That makes her laugh. Jake kisses her again, “I love you, baby. I’ll see you at the end.”
“I love you, Jake,” she hugs him tightly, feeling comfort in the smell of his cologne. “Thank you for being by my side everyday. You’re the light of my life—,” she nods to the stage manager who was waving frantically. “Fuck okay, I wanted to be more romantic but I got to go before they drag me.”
“Go, go,” he kisses her cheek, Y/n moving quickly to kiss her children and hug her managers before waving goodbye. “We love you!!”
Running to the nearly annoyed stage manager, she throws off her robe to reveal her stage outfit and takes the microphone. Heart pounding, she adjusts her earpiece as they escort her to the spot she was needed just as Lady Gaga finished her introduction speech, “Los Angeles and to everyone watching at home, it is my honor to present to you your recipient of this year’s MTV Video Vanguard Award. Get on your feet and make some noise for the one and only, Y/n L/n!!”
It was still dark on stage where Y/n was hidden from the audience as all attention went to the giant screens all around showing the pre-recorded video montage with her face in black and white and eyes closed. The crowd was already going crazy as the camera zoomed in toward Y/n’s face while audio played of her talking about her love for music and the thrill of performing. The camera continued to pan in, the popstar on stage thinking about everything that had led her to that moment. From starting out her days singing in a jazz club, to becoming one of only 19 EGOT winners, and now the recipient of the Video Vanguard award.
The microphone went to her mouth, Y/n putting on the show of the year when the video ended with her eyes opening and voice echoing the music channel’s iconic phrase in the stadium, “I want my MTV!!”

You’d never wanted to shake sense into your best friend Wilbur more than in this exact moment. You two were hanging out after school, sitting in the spare music room and goofing off, when his phone started blaring his ringtone. Now, even from the otherside of the room, you could hear his girlfriend yelling at him.
You almost wanted to yell at him yourself, to let him know that it doesn’t have to be like this! But you might just be biased, given the fact that you’d been in love with him for years now.
You and Wilbur had been best friends for years, growing up and being there for each other throughout it all.
When he started dating this girl, you thought it would be good for you, to help you get over the crush you had for him. It only made it worse, every fight she started with him brought alarm bells to your mind, and you just so desperately wanted to tell him that “It doesn’t have to be like this! I actually understand you!” Every time you refrained from saying anything, it made your chest hurt a bit more.
He set his phone down, sighing softly.
You looked up, fiddling with your shoelaces, “Another fight? What was it this time?”
“Nothing much,” he shrugged, “She was just annoyed I didn’t put three hearts at the end of my text.”
“What?” You laughed sardonically, “Wilbur, that’s the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard.” You couldn’t hold your sharp tongue back.
“I mean, I get it, I guess. It’s important to her, so-” “Yes, but yelling at you about it? That’s the thing. If she really cared about you, she’d just talk to you and be nice about it.”
“It’s fine, really. Now, come on, let’s keep working this section.”
That night, you laid in bed and just wished you could get past your own shyness to tell him. You could picture it in your head, just standing there and almost begging him to see you and realize that you understand him, all of his laughter and quirks.
A week later, you got a text from him in the middle of the night, asking if you were awake. You were; it was a Saturday, so you were just listening to music and having time to yourself. It wasn’t that much longer before you heard his car park in front of your house. You went downstairs, sneaking him in easily. You walked upstairs to your room, opening the window and grabbing a blanket. You both crawled onto your roof, sitting up there.
“Is everything alright?” You asked him softly.
He shrugged, “Just a bit down, I guess. I needed someone who always makes me feel better.”
You smiled softly at him, lightly swinging your shoulder into his, “Well, I’d say you came to the right place.”
He chuckled, and for a while, you both just stared up at the stars.
“I feel like I don’t belong here sometimes,” he admitted quietly.
You turned to him, “What do you mean?”
“I don’t know, I guess… I just feel like everything here kind of sucks.”
You nodded. This was something you two talked about often; how shitty this little town was. “We won’t be here forever, though.”
He hummed, “We could just leave.”
“What?”
“After graduation. We could just pack our bags and head out somewhere, drive until we run out of gas, you know?”
“I guess,” you smiled softly at the idea, “that could be pretty nice.”
He smiled, leaning back a bit. He looked over at you, and you could feel nothing but love in his gaze. “If we can’t find a place we belong, we could alway make one up. Make our own place to belong.”
You didn’t know if it was how late it was or the look he was giving you that pushed you to speak before you could even think about it, “I think I know where you belong.”
“You do?”
You nodded, “Yeah.” You quickly moved to change the subject, not wanting to play homewrecker anymore than you’d felt you may already have. If he was happy, you could learn to be happy for him, you supposed, “What brought this up, anyways?”
He sighed, looking back up at the moon, “I found her kissing another guy.”
“What?”
He nodded, “Yeah. In the band room.”
“Wilbur, that’s awful.”
“We broke up,” he admitted, “and honestly, I should be more upset about it.”
“Are you not upset about it? I mean, she cheated on you.”
“I am, a bit. But I kind of feel relieved. I think you were right about her.”
You flushed slightly, “What do you mean?” He chuckled, giving you a grin, “Oh, please. I know you hated her. You may have acted otherwise, but we’ve known each other for years. I know you just as well as you know me. I could see it on your face.” You smiled lightly, “I guess I never thought about that. I did hate her, but I just didn’t want to say anything because I thought if you were happy, then I should support it.”
“That’s nice of you. I think I dodged a bullet though, to be honest.”
You nodded, and you both returned to comfortable silence.
He broke it once again, “What did you mean? When you said you know where I belong?”
You bit your lip. Here goes nothing. “You said it yourself. I know you. So, I dunno, I think what you’ve been looking for has been here with me the whole time. I think you belong with me.”
He looked back at you, and he seemed shocked, but with better inspection, he looked like he was calculating you cautiously.
You kept speaking, mostly out of nerves, “Wilbur, you never even smiled when you were with her. And it killed me, because your smile has become such a comfort for me, just in knowing that you’re happy. I understand you, and I’ve always been here for you. Maybe I don’t know what I’m saying, but I feel like, maybe you’ve been searching for something that’s been under your nose this whole time. I almost wonder if you’ve been oblivious or just stupid to how much I’m into you, because you know me so well, and I don’t honestly think I’ve ever hid it that well. So, yeah. I don’t even think it. You belong with me. Even if it’s as friends.”
He gave no response, and you immediately regretted your admission.
However, he didn’t give you long to regret it before he moved a hand onto your cheek, giving you a loving kiss. You kissed him back just as lovingly, as if you had been waiting for it for years. Which you had been.
And when he pulled away, foreheads pressed together, you both just grinned.
