For the sake of this post, I'm treating the demo as canon.
Headcanon that Kara has a deep fear of forgetting things. Even just small things. Sure, she's an android and her memory should technically be perfect but she's irrationally scared that one day she'll open her eyes and have no idea who she is.
After she escaped the Cyberlife facility, she ended up in the Williams household and must have been reset multiple times, until the day the game starts. If she gets reset again at Zlatko's it continues the trend of Kara losing her memory.
So she tries to find new ways to prevent it from happening. Maybe she tries journalling. She writes out everything about her life in multiple journals, just in case she forgets. But it's not enough—it's not permanent enough. So she finds a way to backup her memory, just in case something happens to her. It's still not enough.
No matter what she does, it doesn't feel like it's enough to protect her from forgetting.

it’s actually wildly funny that amethar’s epithet came about because he was the only person in his family not horrifically murdered. imagine if every single one of your relatives got stabbed and from that point on everyone called you “johnny no-stabs." that’s amethar’s life

I simply will not watch again like i have always done (unless McQ shows up then it's a solid maybe)#i fully expect to get hate for this opinion someone is gonna be like: so you're a scientology apologist?? oh so you hate minorities????#As if the academy cares about either of those things too btw#listen i get it I'm a bad film major I like mainstream things and i think the academy is a poor way to judge art#but most people use the oscars as way to see a films merit#it is the yardstick to measure quality#now whether that's good or bad is up for debate however that's just how things are#and i've spoken at length as have others that the academy's lack of respect for genre films (and also animation) really proves#how out of touch they are#Yes Top Gun Maverick got the nomination but Tom didn't and i know we quibble with Tom = Maverick or Tom = any of his lead roles#but Without Tom there is no top gun full stop#I'm not going to say Tom's lack of formal recognition is the biggest problem in hollywood right now#There are Several more serious issues#I just have a lot of feelings about this#I know he doesn't care he's not actively campaigning and as my friend amanda said he did what he set out to do:#Save Movies#I just wish he was recognized for his efforts and that wanting is a double edged sword#I don't particularly respect the Academy but at the same time I know people use their approval to measure quality#And that's what it boils down to

i dont like saw 3 much but amanda in it is very relatable to me as someone who looks after a very ill loved one and has had to become very knowledgeable of their problems and fiercely protective over them in a personal and medical way - the fear, the love, the frustration she has in regards to john are all things i've experienced with my mother in some way shape or form. even the way she is antagonistic towards lynn for thinking she knows the situation better, the way she screams for her when the situation becomes something she's unfamiliar with - i've been in those situations
i dont really have a fun and concise way to end this post i'm just thinking about amanda young
