May I tag on the Wild Man AU?

The Zoroark are able to understand Ingo's emotions, not his words though. Not really; they're more like a cat's meow or a dog's bark to them. But they get he left because the other humans tried to hurt his baby. Some investigate and see first hand the murder of a twin. The pack gets informed. Word spreads among them. They keep watch and steal the firstborn if it's twins. People become afraid and just leave the firstborn out for the Zoroark to take.

With time, the things become forgotten. The reason behind, and the Zoroark only remember that some humans get shunned by their own kind, just like they once were. And it stays tradition that every child found shunned by humans gets taken in.

That's how N ended with the Zorua and Darmaitan and so.

God this is such an excellent idea, but it doesn't actually fit into the direction I was taking this au GAHHH. It would be so cool as like, a branch AU, but for that to work in this either A, Ingo and Akari stay in Hisui forever, or B, they abandon the pack, which isn't going to happen in the mainline AU.

In the mainline AU, it ends with Ingo, Akari, their Pokémon team, and literally every member of the Zoroark pack coming with them to Unova. In history books they'll say "The Hisuian regional variant of Zoroark and Zorua died out rather quickly in 18XX," but the truth of the matter is that they didn't "die out." They literally just left. Voluntarily. People in the clans were outright killing babies out of fear of Zoroark. Why would they stick around someplace actively hostile to them when this nice dude who talks about how nice the future is asked them if they wanna come with him?

The Zoroark community becomes really close to Ingo and Akari in the seven years they spend with them. They hunted together, sure, but Ingo also happened to be an engineer and had access to all his memories of the modern world. With the help of the pack, Ingo managed to build very comfortable lives for them.

Essentially, the Zoroark put the Wild in Ingo and Akari... But Ingo puts the Modern Sensibilities in the Zoroarks, and they don't really want to let it go.

Conservationists would fucking HATE Ingo and he's very nervously aware of this, but the choice was piss off some future conservationists or die. He chose to not die.

Not Yet! We can fight on! An Iris Analysis

Ah Iris…I remember when we first got information about her through anime leaks how Serebii.net forums were going wild. A dark-skinned female as Ash’s companion? I was fighting for my life trying to defend her because people were…not that accepting of her to say the least.

I like Iris, both her anime and game counterparts. But this analysis is going to be centered on her game counterpart (since this blog is mostly gameverse centered). While our time with her in both Black/White and Black 2/White 2 is overall pretty limited we can still gain a lot of information about who she is in the game’s world

Let’s start with her name. Fun fact! Iris is the only champion (bar Red) whose name is the same in both English and Japanese. The name Iris comes from the plant genus named Iris which actually comes from the Greek Goddess of Rainbows, Iris. Now this Greek Goddess doesn’t have a whole lot of mythology around her, but her key role was to be the connection between humans and gods. A divine messenger of sorts. Given Iris’ ability to understand the hearts of dragons, the Tao Trio being revered in Unova, and her being from a Village that lives as one with dragon types it makes sense why this is her name. She’s a bridge between humans and dragon types which I think is really sweet.

Now back to the Iris flowers, we know Pokemon loves floral and plant symbolism. And the Iris flower has no shortage of symbolism with it meaning faith, courage, valor, hope and wisdom. Iris as a character certainly has a lot of courage being a dragon tamer of some pretty fierce dragon types at such a young age. She has a lot of faith and hope in her and her team’s power. She shows plenty of valor by offering to be Bianca’s bodyguard in Castelia city and stepping up against Team Plasma in the Plasma Castle. And as we see in Pokemas, she is growing in her wisdom.

But wait there’s more! Even the individual colors of the Iris flower (of which there are many) also have their own unique meanings. Since Iris is very much related to the color purple, let’s use that one for more analysis. The purple iris symbolizes royalty, wisdom, strength and courage. Wisdom and Courage are repeated themes for Iris as we see. Strength and Royalty can be tied to her status as champion as they’re the strongest trainers of the regions and (especially in places like Galar) can be seen as royalty among the league.

Now let’s take a look at her team. For this I’m going to be only using her normal mode team

We see here that she uses a mix of Dragon-Type Pokemon and Pokemon that are dragon-adjacent much like Lance. However unlike Lance, she doesn’t repeat any species (which is mainly due to Unova having more variety in Dragon Types). She uses 12 of then (at the time) 17 types with a fair spread of both physical and special damaging moves showing that she does value coverage a lot. She has a lot of coverage for ice types with fire and fighting to combat ice, and fire, fighting and ground to combat steel which resists dragon moves. Even though the fairy type had not yet debuted, it seems like Iris was already future-proofing her team with the addition of Aggron. She also tends to favorite spread moves (Surf, Earthquake, Rock Slide) and some high-risk/high-reward moves (Double Edge, Focus Blast, Endeavor, etc) which gives the impression her style of battling is very high-powered and likely means her champion room needs to be pretty sturdy to withstand the level of her attacks.

"I heard this lady's scream and ran after the thief as fast as I could. But this city is so big and so crowded… I'm afraid I lost them. […] But that's so bad! Taking people's Pokémon is really bad! 'Cause it's really nice when people and Pokémon are together! They each have something the other doesn't, and they help each other!"

This is our first introduction to Iris after she helps out Bianca after she gets her Pokemon stolen from her. We can see right off the bat that despite being young she’s very eager to help others, which gives me the vibes that in another universe she’d be a perfect Pokemon Protagonist. Also we see that she truly values the relationship between people and Pokemon which again tracks since she not only grew up in the Village of Dragons, her empathic abilities that allow her to connect with Dragon types at a deeper level would increase her love on the bond people and Pokemon typically share.

We also see in the Castelia City events that she does struggle bit with getting around the city, but that seems to be more of a result of Castelia being so unfamiliar to her versus her being like Lillie or Leon who have more overall struggles with with direction, since she can navigate Opelucid City just fine.

"That single Dragon Pokémon, along with twin heroes, brought a new region into being. And people and Pokémon had happy lives!! In its pursuit of truth, the white Dragon-type Pokémon sought to usher in a new and better world… Its name was Reshiram. And the other, the black Dragon-type Pokémon, sought ideals and to usher in a new world--a world of hope. Its name was Zekrom. But, but… The two heroes' sons started the battle again! And an instant later, Reshiram and Zekrom destroyed Unova with fire and lightning! Then, they disappeared! But, but… If people work with Pokémon in the right way, we don't have to worry anymore about the world being destroyed. I mean, Reshiram and Zekrom worked hard for everyone and made a new region! So, it should be all right, I think."

Iris is also the one in both versions to tell us the origin story of Reshiram and Zekrom showing her deep knowledge of Unova cultural history. Now here we get a bit of a divide where in Black she is Drayden’s apprentice and will teach the move Draco Meteor to your Pokemon, but in White we actually face her as the gym leader.

"The pain of my Pokémon… I feel it, too!"

Here we get a glimpse of her powers in action, albeit subtly. It’s very clear she’s an empath and that the bond between her and her Pokemon is so strong that she can feel when they take hits. Which when you think of the attacks she puts on her teams, shows that she tries to finish battles quickly to minimize the shared pain.

We see her again at N’s castle bravely fighting against the seven sages so Hilda/Hilbert can face N, once again showing her courage and I swear in another universe she was the BW protagonist. She fits the bill so well

"Sometimes I think about the village where I was born, but I'm totally OK! Because I met lots of Pokémon--and all of you!"

This quote comes from Caitlin’s Villa where she remarks about her time in the Village of Dragons, showing that she doesn’t mind being away from it because she’s made so many new friends!

"… Looking for Team Plasma? But Team Plasma disbanded two years ago!"

Fast forward two years in-universe and meet her once again in Castelia City as Hugh and Nate/Rosa are giving chase to Neo Team Plasma. As she helps them to the sewers we can see she’s gotten a better grasp on navigating the big city as she no longer complains of getting lost. We can see though, she is taken aback a bit by the claims that Team Plasma is still around, but nevertheless she still helps out.

"Yahoo! I haven't seen you since I ran into you in Castelia City! Are you here to battle Grandpa? Yep! Opelucid City's Gym Leader, Drayden, is my grandpa. We're not really related, though! Oh! The Gym is that way! Before challenging it, you might want to go to Route 9! Still, your Pokémon really respect you! I feel how much fun your Pokémon are having, even from inside their Poké Balls! Good luck!"

We meet up with her again in Opelucid City where we see in both versions that Drayden is now the one gym leader for the city which is foreshadowing that Iris has ascended to a higher position. But also we get a confirmation that Drayden and Iris have a grandparent-grandchild relationship even if they aren’t blood related. And once again we get a bit of hint of her powers as she can sense the fun the player’s Pokemon are having, showing that although her powers seem most related to draconic , she can still sense the feelings of other Pokemon too.

"Know what? I really look forward to having serious battles with strong Trainers! I mean, come on! The Trainers who make it here are Trainers who desire victory with every fiber of their being! And they are battling alongside Pokémon that have been through countless difficult battles! If I battle with people like that, not only will I get stronger, my Pokémon will, too! And we'll get to know each other even better! OK! Brace yourself! I'm Iris, the Pokémon League Champion, and I'm going to defeat you!"

I really love this quote in particular because it shows how much she looks forward to tough fights as it helps her deepen the bonds between her and her Pokemon. This is in contrast to at the time, the only other kid champion of the series, Blue, who was more concerned about gloating about his tactical mindset in assembling a powerful and versatile team. It shows the different mindsets we see between the two child-prodigies (thankfully though, Blue does change his mindset). The fact that we both began and end the 2D era of the franchise (Gen 1 to Gen 5) with the champion being a child is a nice way to bring it all together for that time of Pokemon.

Iris’ pre-champion fight quote also ties into a quote you can only access in the memory link cutscenes

"I've already decided! I know what kind of Champion I will be! There's a myth in Sinnoh that says that the reason why Pokémon jump out is because they want to thank people. I'm sure that we and Pokémon have helped each other and enriched the world since ancient times. These memories have been engraved in each Pokémon's heart! So, I want Pokémon and people to get closer and closer! As the Champion, I want to tell that to everybody!"

Here we can see once again how knowledgeable she is about myths, not just in Unova but Sinnoh as well. But also we can see how this helps inform how she wants to be a champion. That she wants to help facilitate the bonds between Pokemon and People. This really shows her mindset as being quite mature for her age as she’s not focused on showing off her strength as much, even though yes she still doesn’t like to lose.

"So, this room is the Hall of Fame! Your name and your Pokémon's names will be recorded here so these important things will never be forgotten: That you are an excellent and kind Trainer! That you are considerate toward your Pokémon, and you give them your whole heart! And that your wonderful Pokémon believe in their Trainer with all their hearts, and together you have a strength that knows no bounds! Hey, c'mon! Oh, excuse me… ! To the Trainer standing before me! And to the Pokémon at your side! Your beautiful bond has grown strong through battle! In order to make this bond an eternal treasure, your names shall be recorded here!"

I also find this quote really endearing as you can see that even though she’s giving a serious impactful speech, she’s still just a kid and sometimes slips up a bit. She is really trying to live up to the role of being champion which we see impacts her a lot in one of the Pokemon Masters EX events- The Shining Hearts of Dragons

Is he saying…I'd be an embarrassment to Unova?"

Oof…if ever I wanted to jump through my screen and throw hands with NPCs, it was those jerk adults who were calling Iris an embarrassment. It seems being a kid does not protect you from the harsh criticism of people who keep an eye on the league. We see Iris definitely feels pressure as being the youngest champion at the event. All of the other champions are adults (or in Blue’s case an older teen) and she’s coming off the heels of Alder who is a wise veteran champion.

"It's just…Diantha is so pretty, calm, and mature… […] Diantha is amazing…I wanna be that elegant and cool when I grow up, too."

You can see of all the older champions she definitely looks up to Diantha the most. Which is very fitting considering it’s Diantha who ultimately mentors her to help her get out of the funk once her Hydreigon goes berserk thanks to the actions of Team Break

"I wanted to make sure people knew me…and accepted me…I just wanted to make everyone happy. I wanted them to know that I'm the proud Champion of Unova… […]"I remember thinking I'd become a great Champion, just like Alder was! But I don't think I can do it anymore…I don't have the experience…and I'm just a kid…"

We can see how much the incident (and Lance’s stern warning) affected her. Hydreigon going out of control was also a hard blow because we learn in her “Day with Iris (Champion Alt)” story that she struggled to control it initially (again drawing more parallels to Blue as he also couldn’t handle his Aerodactyl at the start of his journey). So having Hydreigon act up again right when she was trying to show how capable she is as champion was a huge blow. She wants to be seen as mature and to be accepted. The acceptance part likely stems from her being from the Village of Dragons which has a vastly different culture than Unova and how she likely feels like an outsider at times. Poor Iris, she needs a hug.

Thankfully though she manages to find her way and get back to her peppy self by the end of the event. Feeling more confident in her abilities as champion. Which is important once we see her in the multiple Unova Neo Champion events where she presides as the main judge. In all the events she definitely seems to prioritize how people and Pokemon connect via their hearts and their ideas of strength

While Iris has certainly stepped up to the plate in showing her ability to be a mature, albeit young, champion. She thankfully still has time to still be a kid. A lot of her dialogue in the Pokemon Center talks about playing and having fun. But more importantly she got to get a whole bunch of candy, and new friends in Allister and Naganadel in the “Otherworldly Encounter” Halloween event. It was really adorable to see her team up with a ghost type expert like Allister who also happens to have supernatural powers much like her and just be able to hang out and enjoy getting a bunch of candy.

“But I can tell how it's feeling! I bet it was just afraid because it came to a place it doesn't know well!  was the same when I moved to the large cities of Unova from the Village of the Dragons! I was really nervous since there were so many tall buildings–and a lot of people."

I really liked this moment where she stands up to someone as domineering as Lusamine in defense of Poipole as she could relate to how the ultra beast felt being in an unfamiliar place.

“Yeah! I bet a concert with Roxie is gonna be so much fun! I understand how you feel, Roxie! I have an important dream as a Champion too...So I think I can sing with the same feelings as you!"

Lastly, I wanted to point out this small bit of dialogue from “Who’s the best singer” Where we see that Iris not only enjoys Roxie’s music but that she has a bit of musical talent as well. I really love instances like this in Pokemon Master’s where we can see characters step beyond just their defined role in-game. So not only have we gotten a chance to see her play with kids around her age and get candy, but we also get to see her sing with a rockstar! All in all, Game!Iris is a really incredible character who I’ve enjoyed since I first played White all those years ago. She’s certainly gone through a lot in her young life and I’d honestly love to see how she’s grown up since the events of BW2.

and okay. i know i posted about this scene earlier yelling about how liko and dot need to get married already. but i do actually have some more grounded things to say about it, lol. you knew i had to make at least ONE likodot themed post in response to this episode... who would i be if i didn't smh

first of all, as always, i love to see the relationship dot has with kanuchan. i think most people's first impression would be like liko's first impression, that dot was simply struggling with her, but as her confidence grows in general, so too does her confidence in handling kanuchan. i think it's also meaningful here that she recognizes kanuchan would be perfect for picking out a good griddle (and is so affectionate about it too, they're so sweet oh my god), considering that they initially bonded over dot understanding her fixation behavior with iron like no one else.

and, moving onto the topic of liko and dot's dynamic... i think it's interesting that liko notices dot being good with kanuchan like this, specifically because liko had a similar running theme with mibrim in the past. she values her own ability to be compassionate with these small and timid pokemon (though kanuchan is much more chaotic and timid in her own separate way lol) and she is recognizing that quality in dot, and therefore also pointing it out to the audience, that dot has the ability to be compassionate and caring for pokemon as well. it brings to mind the interview with dot's VA where she talks about not wanting dot to come off like a nasty person - she really isn't!

it's also nice to see liko recognizing positive qualities in dot that aren't the things that make her cool. like liko has always been dot's #1 believer when it comes to her battle skills and intelligence, but here she is recognizing dot's capability to be tender and thoughtful, and i think that's important. dot has grown so much and now this loops back around to liko updating her viewpoint on dot.

and if you'll allow me some pure shipping thoughts... GRAHHH liko's voice acting is so soft here while she thinks of dot, i can't take it?? the way she says dot's name... THE FACE SHE MAKES... and when the camera pans back out you can even see that she's making a face no one else is making. this is liko's reaction and liko's reaction alone. frankly i think the writers are shipping this shit with me because they didn't have to put this scene here but they did. i'm eating my phone

Like ok.. I'm literally obsessed with James because he's a huge sweetie who I have a massive crush on.. I'M THE #1 JAMES SELFSHIPPER AFTER ALL! He's literally the embodiment of my type of man., But I'm not automatically forgetting about Jessie, and I care about her backstory as much as James' backstory!

I'm only making this post because hardly anyone ever mentions how great Jessie is from my experience being on the internet.. I've only seen stuff about James even when the post isn't even about James. And then whenever it's a post about only James, they don't even care about Jessie not even being in it. Like I'd expect the fandom to give them both the equal amount of respect but apparently not.... Like this isn't about James?? Back off?? Give my man a break I swear to freaking GOD... /vneg

I'd understand having a favorite. James is my favorite too obviously Meowth being my second favorite.. But where are the Jessie fans? She literally became one of my comfort characters 😭

Team rocket fans who only give a shit about one of the members, and not the others, shouldn't be a team rocket fan imo. Like it's not team James although I kinda wish it was because he's the goat and I love him so so so much.,,

I used to be only a James fan though admittedly before becoming a fan of team rocket as a whole though.. Because like I said James is literally my type lmao.,, So like I don't know maybe I'm just way too passionate about this and overthinking about it too much...

I feel one of the main reasons why I'm too passionate though, is because he's my main f/o, and several people acting weird and all like "OMG I WANT HIM‼️" to my f/o while forgetting about his best friend makes me very uncomfortable.., I'd say I am kind of a selective selfshipper at this point........ And Jessie along with Meowth are my comfort characters so I hate people forgetting them and pretending James is the only person on the team.. To add onto this crowds of strangers or weird people when it comes to ONLY JAMES specifically makes me feel really sick to my stomach..

However, I shouldn't feel too anxious about it because there are more men in Pokemon who are more popular than James nowadays, having those weird fans.,,, but it still feels sorta odd knowing people are like this to James in the fandom, and I have this really big emotional attachment to him... Heck I even once heard about someone who said they were just like Jessebelle when it comes to him which made me wanna break down crying. I swear so many people are so weird over my f/o, forgetting about Jessie's existence, it genuinely makes me wanna pass out.,,

Now that I think about it though... it's sorta somewhat similar to the neighbors from Eddsworld situation in the fandom almost., because everyone who were fans of the neighbors cared about Jon the most because he's the sweet cinnamon roll, but didn't give a shit about Eduardo or Mark despite them all being a team in a way.. And having nice designs :'D

Sorry for bringing all this up this bugged me a little, Like I know every trio has that one fan favorite character.. But it genuinely feels like Jessie isn't talked about at all and it's kinda starting to annoy me.. Everytime the both of them are drawn in a sexy way on the internet as well, people only pay attention to James as if Jessie isn't quite literally what everyone's type usually is on the internet.., The only time Jessie is really talked about in the fandom is when it's all of them I kid you tf not. This is so freaking weird... 😭

writer who needs help with medical jargon and information and comes to kuras who's already expecting it after the 4th time. he hums and takes a few moments before casually replying with his thoughts. sometimes though if you're not paying enough attention, he says something super inaccurate (something about a heart disease when asked about a punctured lung) to see how much you write down before noticing

not very good at making playlists... or like, his music taste isn't very vast and there's a chance he doesn't know many artists in the genres you enjoy. he does try his hand at making one when he overhears it's a cute gift, but it doesn't end up seeing the light of day because he's unsure you'd like it ^^; he doesn't actually delete it though, so if you really wanna see it, he'll let you

i imagine that kuras doesn't really. keep up with...internet jokes and such... so if you're out with a friend and talking about something related, there's a good chance that his eyebrows are a little furrowed as he tries to understand. like, you know when there's a popular post going around and you say "did you see ___" and your friend immediately knows what you're talking about when you didn't even finish describing it. yeah he has no idea what's going on how did they pick it up so quickly

^ tries quite hard though. he does. but some memes have like 5 layers of lore and context and he just kind of sighs and laughs in defeat

also i think kuras might be a little nervous to meet your friends at first ^^; but intrigued/happy too !! he listens to you describe them so he can put names to faces (won't tell them what you said exactly, like he won't be like "oh, you're the one who..." but there'll be recognition on his face, and if it comes up he'll smile knowingly), plus he likes watching you enjoy yourself with them!

if you name your plushies he picks up all their names quite quickly. this also applies if you have a lot of figures/favourite characters! he'll notice if you've moved them around at all, and somehow remember one of their birthdays too?

there is a silly image in my head of kuras using a silly straw. like him working on some important document and sipping on it

^ also getting him to use cute bandaids and such... like if you cut yourself on something and he goes to get your bandaids and they're pokemon or sanrio. LOL. he finds it amusing when you ask if he wants some of your stash—you're always willing to share after all

you find out he's centuries old and start calling him old man. ask if his back hurts from his age And height or if he knew the dinosaurs (?? imagine they exist in the TS universe) etc etc. though watch out for any back pain jokes because if your posture is worse than his he'll throw it back at you :(

Journal of a Questioning Otherkin (Entry 1) (Repost)

Hello Tumblr! This is my first time ever posting on this site, so please forgive me if my post is dumb or formatted weird.

I don't really know why I'm writing this. I've heard it can be helpful to keep a journal of your thoughts and experiences as you explore your identity, so I may as well try. I've never used Tumblr before either, but I've heard that there's a good otherkin community here, so I guess I'm going to shout into the void and see where this takes me.

This week, I realized I might be an otherkin. Before now, I didn't know too much about the community or what it means to be an otherkin other than the general idea of what I've heard about it in passing.

As soon I started actually researching what an otherkin was, it was like everything just clicked. It felt as though I had just unknowingly opened Pandora's box, and now there's no way to go back to how I was.

It's been... A lot, to say the least. A lot of things that I used to do as a kid make a lot more sense now, things that I forced myself to stop doing because they weren't "normal", feelings that I've been shoving down for years and trying to ignore, and hating myself and my body without even really understanding why.

I could write for days on all the conflicting feelings I have on what's going on inside my head, and maybe I will write more later.

After a whole week of stress and research and soul searching, I think I am fairly confident that I am some sort of otherkin or alterhuman. On one hand, I feel like I should celebrate this new discovery, but for some reason I just feel scared and uncertain about what this all means for me going forward.

I don't know who I am, I don't know what I am, and I don't really know many people who I can talk to about this sort of thing either. I'm lost and confused and isolated, and I don't like not knowing what lies ahead of me.

Anyways, fears aside, I still want to learn how to connect with this part of me that I've repressed for so long.

I've been thinking a lot about what my kin identity might be, and the thing I've felt by far the strongest connection to is Umbreon, the pokemon. I don't want to jump to conclusions, so I'm still trying to explore a few more options, but every time I picture myself as an Umbreon, I feel so light and euphoric that I can't stop myself from bawling. Is this what I've been missing all this time?

Grusha With An S/O Who Has An Overprotective Hatterene

- Listen. Grusha appreciates what your Hatterene does. He understands how it feels more than he can articulate, and it’s nice to know that even without him around you have a very protective Pokemon keeping you safe. That being said, he would really like Hatterene to stop treating HIM like he’s a threat. It’s been like this even before you started dating. Then, he could excuse it. Now, though? It’s been years. Sometimes, he can barely get a kiss from you wighout being stared down by a furious Hatterene. At least she’s stopped charging him. Small progress is progress, or so someone patient would say. Grusha is decidedly not one of those people.

- By nature, Grusha is also very protective of the people he loves. There’s not many people who can chip past his cool exterior, but your kindness and gentle demeanor did just that. It still baffles him how someone like you could have a Pokemon so aggressive. Then again, you are dating him, so maybe it’s not too far fetched. Grusha has tried to endear himself to your Hatterene time and time again, with little luck. They coexist now. Not peacefully, but they can share a room together without furniture flying.

- The only times Grusha and Hatterene come together is the one thing they agree one. You. If you’re in danger, the two of them work together, so in sync, an outsider would have thought that the Hatterene belongs to Grusha. Grusha would move mountains in the name of protecting you, and your Hatterene would do the same. This alliance is short lived, however. For some reason, neither can get along.

- You tell Grusha that he reminds you of your Hatterene. Someone would have to be blind to not notice their similarities. Both Grusha and Hatterene roll their eyes and flip their hair (or hair-like tentacles) Them? Similar? No way.

I know some people (mostly those toxic pokemon fans) REALLY don't like Goh, and it upsets me bc it feels like me and them watched a completely different character on screen.

okay there's some instances (yes im saying this 💀) where even i think goh went a bit too far like even though i think it's sick he caught suicune i do get why people were so mad about it? but cmon that was a bit too much hate 😭

Ash hadn't caught any legendaries his entire journey so yeah Goh catching suicune at the early-ish start of his journey was....just a bit like oh ok wow even for me lmao but yk that topic will probably never calm down lets be honest

Then there's him just catching every pokemon without battling, that I also get why ppl are mad because I was rewatching the unova anime a few days ago and a lot of the episodes had an emphasis onbattling before catching, and you can say that goes for the rest of the pokemon anime after that too...up until journeys 😂

Goh is a bit of a rulebreaker in that instance, i get that, but if people hate him taking so much screentime for Ash

(heads up the episode where goh goes on vacation and meets tokio again is the 1st episode in the anime history without any scene of Ash in it at ALL which is pretty crazy)

then I'm sure we wouldn't want to see Goh battle e v e r y single pokemon he catches, like his goal is literally to catchem all as well BUT BUT THEN AGAIN, that arguement is pretty weak i guess, and i understand why people would be mad, but I really dont like when they genuinely just hate him excessively 😭😭

His character development was really nice in my opinion, and I really like how he more often emphasised the fact the reason why he wanted to catch throughout the series, and he reeaaaally understood pokemon better and forged such nice relationships with all of them

he's really adorable goofy sweet amazing incredible gay and literally the entire package there are those minute things about the pokemon catching yadayada but that basically is forgotten when i watch him on screen

gonna reinforce my point about how he is perfect with the Galar starters...im sorry but look at them.

You can see how much he cares for his pokemon (all the hugs above omg stop 😔💖) and I wish other people would also see that 😭 😭

He's so sweet and kind now especially at the end when Ash finally managed to help open his heart to other people and also Ash himself 😛 😛 OK I told myself I wouldn't bring satogou into Goh's honour post but they're another reason I love Goh so much, they compliment each other so well and I couldn't think of anyone else more perfect for Ash I love them both 💗🥺 (... In case you hadn't noticed)

Twelve Days of Self-Shipmas - Day 1 - Preparing Your Home for Winter

I want to try and do this this year, so here's day 1 of Self-shipmas, as found in this post! Starting off with my Pokemon self-ship, My Greatest Challenges, feat. Chantae, Raihan, and Leon!

Chantae isn’t exactly what one would call ‘energetic’.  

Sure, she gets a lot of things done and keeps herself pretty busy, but she takes everything at a leisurely pace where she can.  

So seeing her bustle about her house, moving totes around with the help of her pokemon... it was strange, to say the least.  

Raihan and Leon glanced towards each other from the doorway, realizing that she must have forgotten about inviting them over and not even realized that they were there. Without a word spoken to each other, they just nodded, Raihan pushing up his sleeves as Leon shut the door behind them carefully.  

“How can we help?”  

Chantae jolted with a startled yelp at the sudden voice, fortunately only dropping some blankets onto the large couch. Placing a hand over her heart and letting out an affectionate sigh, she stuck her tongue out at the two men. “I swear, you two are going to give me a heart attack one of these days,” she teased, her tone lighthearted.  

Leon laughed sheepishly, Raihan rubbing the back of his neck. “Sorry about that… But seriously, how can we help? You’re buzzing around like a Ribombee.” 

Humming thoughtfully, Chantae worked on straightening out the blankets to sit on the blanket more properly. “Well… I’ve still got another tote or two that needs to go upstairs, and I would appreciate help getting the tree up… I was honestly procrastinating it while I figured out how best to do it myself.” She admitted.  

Leon went right for the totes, scooping them up and looking to her. “To your bedroom?” 

“Yes please,” she answered, draping a folded blanket along the back of the couch, “I’ll put away those clothes either later tonight or tomorrow.”  

Nodding in understanding, Leon took the totes upstairs, letting Chantae turn her attention to Raihan, who was waiting for his own instructions. “Give me just a minute to finish with these blankets, then we can bring the tree in and set up.”  

Raihan nodded, crossing his arms patiently as he watched her. “I’ll be honest, I didn’t take you for the type to decorate for the holidays.”  

Chantae hummed with a shrug, spreading out the next blanket. “I may not handle the cold well, but I enjoy the holidays. It’s nice being bundled up with a hot drink in front of a fireplace, surrounded by friends and family and gentle colorful lights.” She admitted with a soft smile. “Plus my parents sent me some of the ornaments I had growing up, so I figured this was as good a time as any to get set up.”  

After setting down the last blanket, Chantae motioned for Raihan to follow her outside, where she had the tree propped up against the side of the house. It wasn’t particularly massive or anything, only about as tall as she was, but it was a very full tree, easily dwarfing her in size.  

Just as the tree dwarfed Chantae, though, Raihan in turn dwarfed the tree.  

Without the slightest bit of hesitation, he picked the tree up and looked towards her for directions.  

Hoping that the flush to her cheeks could be dismissed as being from her bustling around so much today, she led him back into the house and helped him with getting it set up and secured in the stand.  

Once Leon had finished taking the totes up and ensuring they were relatively out of the way, he came back down to see them setting up the tree. Deciding to keep himself busy, he took to looking through the ornaments and other decorations in the totes nearby.  

After making sure that the tree was stable, Raihan got an idea and nudged Leon carefully. “Why don’t you start helping her decorate, and I can go grab us some snacks?” Leon didn’t even question the suggestion, nodding as he got up to help Chantae with putting up the lights. Honestly, they were half tempted to try and take over the decorating and let her rest, but they didn’t know how exactly she wanted it done. So instead they will follow her instructions and try to make it easier on her.  

Between the three of them, it only took about an hour to finish putting up the decorations, giving them the chance to finally relax with the tea and snacks that Raihan brought out.  

Chantae happily flopped down between her boys, half empty mug in hand and eyes half lidded. “Thank you for helping me with this.”  

Raihan wrapped one arm along the back of the couch, humming in response.  

“Of course!” Leon beamed “We’re happy to help, and it’s fun to see so many of your memories.”  

“Besides,” Raihan added, leaning forward slightly to look down at her, “It would’ve taken forever for you to try and do all of that by yourself.”

She couldn’t argue that, taking a sip of her tea. “That’s true...”  

Seeing that she was dozing off already between how busy she’d been and how cozy her couch was now, Leon grabbed the remote to put something on the TV to give her something to listen to while she gets some much needed rest.

Team descriptions under the cut 👋👀

🧩Minccino: Smol. Mousey. Adorable - a sweet minish native. I originally wanted to make mincinno Four’s main mon but that felt a little underwhelming (no hate minny babes sobs). 

Mincinno has an easygoing personality, letting the wind take them where it wants, enjoying all the opportunities that comes its way. They are able to find the small joys in the mundane that most others may misinterpret as childish naivety. They insist on keeping junk they find, puzzling over items trying to figure out how to recycle what it finds.

🧩Mawile: (so i know the pokedex strongly insists mawiles jaw is just a set of horns, but we’re gonna ignore all that and say its a second head. Okay cool sweet nice) 

Their two consciousness are at odds with one another most times, often with the jaw snapping in odd directions trying to tug mawile away from whatever they’re doing. It can be annoying relying on someone else to get everything done but Maws trusts Smiles to listen to them. But eh, its not so bad being in the passenger seat, much simpler in fact not having to worry about much.     

🧩Magnezone: Its endearing seeing someone as large and bulky as Magnezone hovering over a flower its curious over. Similar to Four they’re housing multiple personalities that they will swap between.

1: shy careful   2: easily distracted clumsy   3: bold insistent Each on of their personality will let their curiosity drag them away

🧩Leavanny: Infinite patience - This is a team with 13 consciousness - They will pull on their motherly instincts to wangle each and every present mind into line. You bet when they blow a gasket everyone suffers. 

🧩Aegislash: (similar to mawile we’re gonna tweak actual cannon to suit my needs, in my case the blade and shield are separate entities and have a symbiotic relationship.) 

Sword (gods i promise i’ll give them proper names, mercy i cri) is a timid creature unsure of their own strength. They get overwhelmed easily and constantly beg to hide behind Sheild. This frustrates Sheild to no end, adding to its complex over its passive form. 

They hate seeing Sword belittle themselves, that they can’t understand their own strength, and their potential to be a powerful duo. Though they don’t know how to show Sword this and their attempts at ‘encouragement’ often come across as bullying. 

🧩Hydreigon: Iirc dink is a big part of four’s story so we’re gonna try and squeeze him in here.

I really have no idea what im doing here so gonna leave it be and work on it later when i learn more about fours dink.

Notes: I reeeeeeeeally wanted to include metagross in four’s team with each cores’ colour matching his spirits’. Tho the 1-2-3 pattern had to stay with four tying it all together nicely.

Honorable mention to spida tho. I thought of a them having a chameleon like affect with their spot arrangement switching whenever a different persona took the wheel.

I actually havent played that many zelda games, and surprisingly of the few i did play four swords and minish were some of them. But that was forever ago when they literally first released, so i remember next to nothing about those games.

Introduction

Hello rotomblr! My name is Marie! I'm 28 and my pronouns are she/they. Uh, I’m not really sure what to say here…. My therapist suggested I start trying to blog in order to "have some sort of human connection," so here I am!

About me: I used to work in a pokemon spa in Nimbasa. It was super fun seeing all the different pokemon and helping them relax based on whatever their own unique needs were! I had to resign recently and moved back home for personal reasons. So for now it’s just me and Audino!

I guess I spend a lot of my time packing? And organizing? I have been enjoying long walks lately- I live sort of in the middle of nowhere in Unova, so hiking can be pretty nice! Maybe I’ll upload some photos from my walks at some point!

Mod and character are both adults in their late 20s and use she/they pronouns. Also! I am mostly familiar with the pokemon anime, so I might mix some stuff up about the pokemon world or mechanics- again, please bear with me!

This is my character, Marie! She’s a bit of a mess, but she’s trying!

General trigger warning for death, grief, trauma: Marie probably won’t talk about it much, but the behind-the-scenes is that her only parent just died recently, and she had to move back home and get everything in order. So allusions to death/loss/grief might come up in any post, but I will tag anything explicitly about death with a trigger warning. Don’t worry though- she’s grieving and a bit depressed, but she’ll be fine! This is mostly an uplifting and cute slice-of-life style blog, but sad topics might come up sometimes!

This blog will probably be chronicling Marie’s days as she starts to encounter more pokemon and tries to get her life in order.

Sending my evil influence to give you the floor to say why you hate USUM

okay so i do want to give a disclaimer that i haven't beaten either sm or usum since they released. i feel like my memory on them is still good enough to say my piece but just keep in mind that i may be wrong about some details and i can own up to that if i am.

since we're talking about sm and usum cw for parental abuse towards children

okay i will say upfront that i do think in terms of gameplay i fully admit that usum is superior. a lot of the stuff it added doesn't really apply to me (i only use pokemon that were introduced in that generation so usum's expanded pokedex is for the most part meaningless to me, and it kinda annoyed me how i was forced to play mantine surf to get to akala when i just wanted to get there immediately). the options are still nice to have, they just didn't add much to my personal experience, which is why i'm mostly coming at this from a story perspective. the ultra wormhole stuff was fucking awesome though i loved that.

so: sm. while i wouldn't say its depiction of abuse was perfect (lusamine was forgiven way too easily imo) i still appreciate the way it came at it. the nihilego poison was a reason behind lusamine's actions, but it didn't excuse them. lillie still got to give her amazing speech to her mother about how children aren't just dolls and gladion is a little more on the fence about it iirc, so there were at least still some repercussions for lusamine in that regard. it's a story that hit very hard at the time of release because while my mom isn't abusive, our relationship was very rocky when i was 16, so sm was very cathartic for me. i'd imagine it'd still resonate deeply with me to this day if i were to replay it even though our relationship has improved since then.

so the tldr of that is that sm had a slightly flawed but still brilliant portrayal of familial abuse that blended in very well with the overall theme of different family dynamics (also shown through guzma/team skull in general, hau and his grandfather, etc.)

so usum just completely shat all over that with how they handled the aether family.

it's like genuinely pretty offensive to me with how lusamine's abuse was portrayed here. she's not under any sort of influence because of nihilego here, she's just naturally very nasty and cruel to her children. lillie doesn't get to give her her speech and gladion literally says something along the lines of "she's not so bad because she's our mother." LIKE WHAT!!!!!! you take away the understandable (but not justifiable) reasoning as to why she was cruel in sm so that she's just always horrible and then take away the few repercussions she faces to have her be excused entirely??? this just feels like abuse apologism. it leaves such an icky taste in my mouth. and derailing into the anime for a quick second here, that also had a weird portrayal of lusamine too. i wouldn't say it was as bad as it is in usum, since it did ultimately stick closer to sm, but it was just sort of weird with them making lusamine's main issue be that she's just sort of overbearing and making faba into the real villain (who also gets let off with a slap on the wrist despite being responsible for the trauma lillie held on to for years).

like that's the main reason why i can't go back to usum over sm. i just feel gross playing it.

and to be fair, this game did do guzma and hau better in terms of writing, but why did it have to portray the aether family in that way as well. i don't even really remember what they did with hau aside from making him the final battle (and tbh i felt like kukui was still a better final boss. i like hau, but the "rival as a champion" thing was done much more effectively in the kanto games imo.)

also rainbow rocket was dumb and cringe and i never even bothered finishing it. to this day (aside from bdsp because i didn't play that) it's the only postgame pokemon story i haven't beaten. i tolerated fucking sordward and sheilbert but not this. also i heard that ghetsis physically shoves lillie to the ground in his section and i genuinely need him to die for it. and worst of all they took hot archie away from us 😔

like i won't deny that usum added a lot of neat features and sidequests that made alola feel more alive (and i already loved alola in sm) but i cannot for the life of me get past how gross the story makes me feel.

My poll said the next one would be Entropy Syndrome, but looking at everything I could share that wasn't too spoiler-y felt a little heavier than what I would want to put into a WIP Wednesday post, so I picked from Rain Check instead. Akari rants to Ingo, and Ingo lets her because he Understands.

“She never checks in on her, you know.”

“She informed me that she does.” Ingo’s tone hardened somewhat, but Akari knew it wasn’t intended for her. 

“Well she doesn’t.” The teen leaned forward to wrap her arms around her knees. “She just comes around and stands by the fence for a few minutes to look like she cares about watching Whiskers. Then she wastes like half an hour talking to Belamy, and leaves.”

“I’m disappointed, but not surprised.” Ingo shook his head. Perhaps he had been too trusting to believe her when she told him she was actually checking on her temperamental whiscash.

“Oh, and guess who gave her the nickname ‘Whiskers’?”

“Recent information leads me to suspect that perhaps it was you.”

“Yes!” Akari stood up with the resounding confirmation. “I gave her a nickname ‘cause Kana never did anything like that, even though it was super obvious Whiskers felt neglected! And I know she loves the nickname, cause it's all she’ll respond to now! That’s the only reason why Kana uses it! She also doesn’t know that Whiskers loves plump beans and grain cakes, or that she likes to watch the starly in the sky, or that she will go after rocks if you skip them over the water! Look- watch this!” 

Leaning down to pick up a small stone, Akari pulled her arm back to throw it-

“Wrist!”

-before quickly switching hands at Ingo’s reminder. Recalculating, she flicked her wrist and sent the stone bouncing twice against the pond’s surface, which stirred a moment later as a blue dorsal fin followed after it.

“Well, I believe you’ve spent more time with Whiskers than I’d previously thought.” Ingo concluded as he watched Whiskers casually circle back around to drift by the shore near Akari. She had casually slipped into a comfortable mood of ranting to him about small annoyances, which she was sometimes apt to do with him. But he didn’t mind them; in a way, it was nice to know she trusted him with these thoughts. “Though unfortunately Miss Akari, not all people are as privy to a pokemon’s preferences as you are.”

“It’s just that I remember Kana used to brag about her all the time when she was a barboach, saying she was going to be such a strong partner. Like, a lot. And Whiskers heard her say all of that.” Akari crouched down to stroke along the whiscash’s slick back. “But then she evolved, and Kana just dropped her off here when she realized it would take more work to train her like this. I just think it’s sad, getting her hopes up like that just to leave her behind.”

“I hold the same sentiments.”

Just... we get maybe a small handful of lines from fucking Masters of all things that adds more to her backstory of how she and her bestie met. Not even in the Sun/Moon/Ultra games -> "A long time ago, someone in town tried to pick a fight with me. Another person saved me by challenging them to a Pokémon battle. I really…admired that compassion. Pain, failure—it's not easy when things don't go the way you'd like. I don't think I'd admire that person as much as I do if they were strong and nothing else."

She does think Guzma is as much of an idiot as the grunts. And she also thinks that dummies are cute and worth protecting. -> "That stupid Guzma… He really is a prime idiot, isn't he!" -> "I help keep Team Skull together. I'm like a big sister to all these numskulls. You have realized what idiots all these guys are, right?" "But don't you think some dummies are cute in their dumbness? You know what I mean, right? You picking on my cute, dumb brothers and sisters is really annoying me!" -> "The guys in Team Skull just don't know how to live their lives. Just dummies doing dumb things. They've just wandered and gotten a little bit lost for a time, is all. It's my duty to protect them and keep them on the right path. Don't know if that really makes me a leader or whatever, though. I think it's more that I'm just nice enough to keep Team Skull together so they don't go off on their own and do anything stupid."

She might be from Ula'Ula if Nanu and Molayne could give her another Z-Ring to try and redo/complete her island challenge. -> "Those old dudes Molayne and Nanu somehow talked me into doing this. I'm starting from scratch as a Pokémon Trainer and doing it right this time. I've got a Z-Ring and everything, so I might actually be able to live up to their expectations."

We certainly know she has self-esteem issues given dialogue and the fact that she is in the self-esteem issues gang. Also fear of failure/takes failure poorly. -> "Hunh! I can't even stand myself right now!" -> "I failed again…like I always do. I promised myself I wouldn't! I told myself I would never fail again! It's all right to feel a little jealous, right? How else am I supposed to get stronger? My team and I really did take out so many Pokémon to make it here!"

Also her take on not getting what 'everyone' says about people being able to understand each other via battling is interesting given how the Pokemon world feels about battling. -> "I don't believe that people understand each other if they battle, but I'll face you anyway."

And it's very much interesting that she's not jealous of Lusamine at all. She doesn't like that woman's vibes but acknowledges how strongly Guzma feels about Lusamine. Like that is something to factor into writing them b/c no matter how you interpret Plumeria and Guzma's friendship (I personally go with friends with benefits from some of the visual stuff going on in the manga), Plumeria is ok with Guzma having other people be super important to him/having a crush on someone else. Granted if we are taking the manga into account Plumeria would kill for her guy so don't endanger him or play with his feelings. True ride-or-die gal right there. -> "See, Guzma… he really likes the president. She's the only adult who ever seemed to see how strong he was." -> "President Lusamine… He was glad to have a chance to help you again."

"I'm sorry! I didn't think anyone would be in this part of the forest." You stood up and stretched your sore muscles. Once making sure (P/O/C) was alright, you turned to the boy and his friends with a smile, "My names (Y/N), (Y/n) (L/N)."

The boy smiled at your kindness,  "Hi! I'm Ash Ketchum and this is my buddy Pikachu." He introduced as Pikachu gave a 'pika'. His two friends, a red head and a taller boy, looked as though they were gonna say hi but were cut off by this Ah Ketchum boy; "I'm sorry about earlier. I didn't mean to snap like that." He scratched his cheek.

You shook your head, "No worries. I don't blame you. I'm sorry but I gotta go now." You turned around on your heel, "Bye guys!" You waved with (P/O/C) not too far behind you.

"She seems nice." Misty commented.

"Yeah. It's too bad she had to leave so soon though." Brock adds.

"I wonder if I'll ever get to meet her again." Ash smiles looking off in the direction you ran off in.

Brock

Today you were at a local Pokemon centre waiting for your best buddy, (P/O/C). It wasnt long before they came out with Nurse Joy leading the way. You got up and ran over to the duo with a smile, "You're okay-!"

"Nurse Joy! You're so beautiful I could melt away!" A boy around your age jumped in between you and the nurse.

You snorted at the boys love sick performance. You peeked over his shoulder and made eye contact with (P/O/C). "There you are!" You pushed passed the boy and grave your dear friend a hug.

"Woah." The boy sighed in astonishment. Suddenly instead of (P/O/C) in front of you, you were met with the eyes of the boy from just a moment before. "You are the most beautiful woman I have ever seen." He held your hands.

"Oh!" You blushed, "Thank you." You smiled.

"Come on Brock!" A little boy in glasses dragged the boy away from you.

"Let's meet again someday!" 'Brock' called out to you.

James

You stood off to the side as you watched your best friend (BFF/N) and a girl with long violet red hair argue over who should get the wild Eevee that kind of just came out of nowhere.

"Hurry it up Jessie or its gonna get away!" A man with blue hair shouted. He wore an all white outfit, paired with black gloves that match with his boots, a belt, and an undershirt. Not to mention the huge red R on his shirt.

"Come on (BFF/N)! If your not gonna catch it, I'll get it!" You pulled out your pokeballl and out came a (P/O/C).

"No! (Y/n) I'll get it!" Your friend pulled out her own pokeball and out came her Pokemon.

"I don't understand why I don't just ditch you already." You sighed which (P/O/C) nodded along too.

"Sometimes I wonder the same thing with Jessie." The boy beside you sighed. You glanced at the guy who was now standing right beside you. You gulped. He was... actually quite cute.

"Do you, um," You coughed, "...do you want a rice ball?" You held out your lunchbox. The mystery man happily grabbed the offered food.

"Where I come from, they call these jelly filled donuts." He took a bite, "Pretty funny if you ask me." You guys shared a laugh. He caught your eyes, "Thank you. It was delicious."

Quickly, you felt your heart pounding and your face heating up, "No...no problem!" You smiled.

Butch

Walking to the nearest restaurant you can find, you kept conversation with your little (P/O/C); "The ice cream in this place is supposed to be really good. They even have specially made ice cream for Pokemon! Isn't that cool?" You smiled down at your little buddy.

They nodded and made a little noise, which you can only assume meant some form of agreement.

Right as you entered the place, you were behind two people in dark coats. It was... a little intimidating if we're being honest.

"U-um," You stuttered out, the two turned to you, "if you're done ordering... I'd like a turn please." You shyly pointed at the counter.

The girl huffed, "alright. We were done anyways," she turned around, "Biff, bring our order when it's ready." She stalked off to a back table.

"It's Butch!" He called out aggravated.

He stepped aside to let you order.

The employee, who seemed a little suspicious, came back with all three orders; one for the duo, one for you, and one for your pokemon. The green haired man grabbed his order and was about to walk away when he noticed how you quickly retreated your hands from your sundaes. He rolled his eyes and sighed, "Here," he gently pushed you aside, "I got it." He grabbed tray to carry all your orders on.

"Thank you." You nodded.

"Hm," He hummed, staring down at you with his dark shades, "where are you sitting?"

Ritchie

"(P/O/C), can you set up the blanket over there please? Thank you." You smiled.

"And (P/O/C), can you carry this basket please. I'm afraid it's too heavy for me." You blushed sheepishly as another one of your pokemon carried the basket to where the other was.

"I'm sorry for having you guys do all this work for me. I'll give you guys some extra yummy food to make up for it, okay?" You got up from the river having just filtered your water to keep fresh and healthy for the remainder of your trip to the nearest town possible.

"Wow! This all looks great!" Someone shouted. You looked across the river and saw a boy about your age with a Pikachu on his shoulder. aww how cute! The pikachu had a little tuff of furr on his head!

"Sorry I didn't mean to disturb you. Its just that I saw some Pokemon and wanted to catch them but it looks like they are yours." He scratched his head.

"Oh no worries you didn't disturb me at all! Would you like to have lunch with us?" You gestured to all the food.

"If you don't mind." He smiled. The boy began to look around, "their must be a way over somehow." He spoke out loud. You stood up and quickly ran to a bush.

"Here!" You called out, "a bunch of kids from a small nearby village have things like these everywhere," the kid watched you pull out a long and sturdy plank of wood, "it's pretty convenient." You placed the plank over the river.

"Well I'd say!" He laughed. Him and his pikachu made it over the little makeshift bridge safely and quickly. "My names Ritchie." He held out his hand.

"(Y/N)." You shook his hand.

Gary

You sat in a burger restaurant eating your order with your little buddy, (P/O/C), sat across from you eating their pokepuff. A bell chimed signalling someone came into the restaurant. You curiously looked up and saw a boy around your age with a lot of teenage girls following behind him to the counter.

"Hey dude, check it out. Rich kid in a place like this? Seems weird don't you think?" You whispered to (P/O/C) as he cutely looked over the seat.

"Alright girls. Let's eat at this big table over here." The boy and his cheerleaders all walked over to a big table. Which was beside yours.

"Hey," You whispered to (P/O/C). He looked up at your from his pokepuff, icing bits on his furr.

"Let's get going." You whispered once more. You were about to get up when the boy from the other table stepped in front of you cautiously-trying not to be rude but eh, it's Gary.

"Excuse me miss. But I was wondering if I could get your name. I've seen you somewhere before but I just can't get my finger on who you are." He looked at you in thought.

You looked back down at your little companion, exchanging a similar thought on if you should tell him who you are. 'Mom always said don't talk to strangers.'

"(Y/N) Ketchum." So much for stranger danger. "I gotta go now, sorry. Bye." You walked passed the boy.

"She's a Ketchum!?" The boy exclaimed which startled his cheer squad.

Barry

"Alright so if this equals that then that mean this should be...ah!" You friend screamed as theywas trying to figure out a math problem. They want to be a pokemon scientist one day and math is often involved in science so they have to learn both subjects and be excellent at them.

"Um, (BFF/N), is there anything I can do to-eh!" You got cut off.

"You can help by shutting up! The math I was just trying to figure out! Ugh! It's left my brain forever!" She face cried.

"Ehh! I'm sorry!" You then got up to go grab yourselves some ice cream across the street to calm you both down.

"Ah!" You yelped as you were tackled to the ground.

"Ah! I'm late! I'm late! Hey stay out of my way-whoa..." You looked up and saw a blonde boy with orange eyes staring at you in awe. You could have sworn you seen him somewhere before.

"I'm sorry. I guess I should watch were I'm going." You groaned as you got up. The boy gulped and stood up quickly, a noticing pink hue dusting his face.

"Huh. Oh no! It's ok! I'm Barry by the way." Barry held out his hand. You grabbed it and stood up.

"Barry? Oh I've seen you on TV." You smile excitedly. You had to admit, watching the pokemon league on TV was quite fun. Especially whenever Barry was battling. He was just so cute! Of course you had a crush on him!

"Woah! Really?" His eyes lit up.

"Yeah! You lost 2 rounds in!" You mindlessly say.

"ugh." Barry falls to the ground.

"Barry?"

【As you've probably noticed, I try to keep a lot up to the readers decision. Like gender of your best friend, your pokemon, hometown ect. But in Paul's, I am writing that (Y/N) does indeed have a Togepi. Happy reading!】

Paul

You watched a boy your age with purple hair battle against your friend Ash with ease.

"Is that all? I should have expected at least a little bit of a challenge. Shame on me for thinking the weakest trainer can put up a fight with pokemon like that." He insulted.

"C'mon Ash! We're wasting our time! Let's just go." You heard your friend Dawn say. Ash looked like he was gonna get into a nasty fight with this 'Paul' guy. You took this as your cue to get going on your own solo adventure-seeing as you didn't travel with them or anyone else.

Your eyes casted to the boy who seemed to have too little patience in the world. "What are you looking at?" The purple haired boy glared at you-if it could somehow get even more harsh. It seemed he had a constant glare on his face.

"Hm. Oh! Um... nothing!" You stuttered out with a heavy blush, "Hey...Hey lets go Togepi." You turned around as your Togepi followed with his cute little 'Togepiiii'.

"What is that thing? It looks so... useless." Paul pulled out his Pokedex.

His comment caused you to turn around. He was too busy engrossed in his pokedex and trying to drown out Ash, Dawn, and Brock's voices. You hesitated but walked back to the boy so you were face to face.

"It's.. a Togepi." You said almost a little too quietly. Paul had just barely heard you. "and it's cute. And kind of scary." You looked down at the little guy running in circles chasing some butterfly pokemon.

"Sure it is." Paul rolled his eyes. "Do you have any other pokemon?" He crossed his arms.

"No." You shook your head.

"That's probably why." He pointed at Togepi before walking away without another word.

Trip

You walked around a city looking at all the cool colours, buildings, Pokemon shops, restaurants and all that other stuff. Your eyes sparkled up at everything you saw.

"Wow! Hey look at this (P/O/C)! Everything's so bright and beautiful and shiny!" You ran around some more, your pokemon right behind you, looking at everything in awe just like you.

Click!

You turned at the sound and saw a boy your age with a camera, facing a cute little cafe. You made eye contact and smiled, "What are you doing?"

The dirty blonde haired boy glanced at you, "Documenting my journey." He puts his camera away, "what are you doing?" He returned the question. He had probably expected you to take some hint and to leave him alone to his business but unfortunately for him, (Y/N) doesnt really work like that.

"I'm here for my next contest." Suddenly you had a bright idea, "if you don't mind, will you come watch?"

He blinked, "What? Why?" He looked almost offended by it. Like why would some random person just come along and ask him to take time away from his day to do that?

"So I can show my mom back home! We don't really have a tv to watch these things. Please! Just one picture! That's all I ask!" You beg.

"What's in it for me? I'm not just gonna do this for free you know-"

"I'll pay for your dinner tomorrow!"

He placed a hand on his hip, now smirking, "and with what money?"

"When I win the contest tomorrow, duh." You smiled.

The boy rolled his eyes, "Fine. Come find me at the pokemon center tomorrow. Then you can get your picture."
