some likodot themed thoughts about hz090 and hz091:

i've been thinking about this a lot. liko not watching gurumin anymore i mean. to some extent i think this is just an extension of liko's general depression right now. she's withdrawn from everyone and everything and is trying to pretend that she's okay, but she can't truly engage with what she loves. that makes a lot of sense as a response to the trauma she experienced in rakua. but like.

she has this perception that she is the only one who is struggling, the only one who can't move forward. the trauma of it all has made her regress into this less confident version of herself who sees herself as lesser than others. and that includes dot, even though she has no idea what dot has been up to because they haven't spoken.

i think part of the reason she doesn't watch gurumin anymore is because on the surface, aside from just being a general traumatic reminder, dot being able to perform as gurumin and keep up with her youtube channel might imply to a cloudy-headed liko that she's right about dot being fine. she could see gurumin and just take it as proof that dot is fine. and she can't bear to look at that when she is feeling so low on herself.

liko doesn't know that though! it's just her own assumptions while she's not communicating. in reality dot has been holed up in her room again and interacting with everything completely hands-off. when she notices the traces of potential rakurium related behavior, she puts out a call for information on her channel, and calls roy, but does not offer to join him physically. we know very little about how dot has been feeling right now, but her learning to get out of her room and interact with things hands-on has been such a massive part of her character growth, and this regression is so stark, it's hard not to imagine she also sees herself as useless or stuck in place.

my heart really hurts for these two because i think it's very possible that both of them have not contacted each other because they both think that they'd be too much of a burden on each other, and then they could both be taking the lack of reaching out as proof of that fact, when really they need each other very much still. worrying about dragging each other down when really being separate is just hurting both of them worse... sigh

it's so unfortunate too because if liko wasn't avoiding gurumin's videos she'd find out that dot has been decorating the costume with CURRY and a SANDWICH. like dot is so clearly still thinking about liko and about everything. she has not moved on, not at all. (as an aside i think all of this really nails in that the harsh barrier between dot and gurumin has dissolved for quite a while now, because if liko could truly keep gurumin as a separate entity in her mind, it would be much easier for her to approach gurumin videos again...)

don't take any of this as gospel i'm just speculating about my ship but my heart hurts so much. i love them both so much.
