Why I think Appmon is the Best Digimon to Start With
Digimon Universe: Applimonsters, better known as Appmon, is the forgotten digimon series, because it quite frankly barely counts as a digimon series. In fact digimon only appear in one episode. And that is exactly why it is the perfect season to start with when getting into Digimon.
Appmon is just a show I'd recommend on its own, even if it wasn't a digimon show. It's got a lot going for it. It's character's are fun, both larger than life and compelling. The characters start immature and flawed, before growing into themselves. Their character dynamics are honestly also unique and fascinating. The plot is well constructed with regular progression, ample foreshadowing and well-earned twists. It's one of the best shows in the franchise.
A lot of the best things about Appmon, are the reoccurring elements that I love about digimon to begin with. The human/monster relationships where the monster evolutions reflecting human growth, themes about humanities future and cross-cultural interactions, strong sibling relationships, and normal kids growing into heroes. Appmon is very much everything I love about Digimon, and thus showcases some of the best the franchise has to offer. But without, the baggage of being a digimon season.
Digimon can be intensely metatextual. While individual digimon stories may be complete unto themselves, its very common for digimon stories to make reference to other lore and themes. Glossing over them for the older fans. Things like Yggdrasil, Royal Knights, Jogress, File Island, Homeostasis as they appear. They are explained when relevant, sure, and often are excluded more than included but any given entry (Cyber Sleuth for example) may throw a whole heck of a lot of them at you without a whole lot of elaboration on the idea. Appmon almost completely strips out the metatext. It strips out the recognizable monsters and by extension, the virtual pet elements (thus the two baby levels and eggs), the character archetype shorthand's, and general digimon reference book references. No Leomon or Wizarmon variants to wave death flags. No virus, data, vaccine types nor armor or hybrid levels or x-antibodies potentially randomly dropped in without context. Because it's not that context is ever really needed: they'll explain if they are, but there is still the decades long, exceedingly over-complicated metalore cooking in the background of any given digimon series. Instead the Appmon being Apps means that any context on the creatures are rather self evident, their app type. The simple act of living in our modern society provides enough context. There are a lot of references to IRL AI culture, such as all the protagonists being seemingly named after AI, and the Dartmouth Workshop of 1956 being a plot point. Appmon has plenty of references and lore, it's just not overly all about Digimon. It doesn't completely strip out metatextual references to digimon, but it is kept subtle and unobtrusive. Haru has goggles because they make him more protag like, the kids find a phone booth, the kids are called "chosen children" once, and episode 44 does bring in Agumon as a video game but its non intrusive and isn't really used as any sort of shorthand. You can know that goggles that do nothing is a very extra character design element denoting protag status without knowing its a digimon thing. Old fashioned technology and modern kids is always funny. The kids were in fact chosen. And one episode out of 52 being a cute and heartfelt crossover is nothing. In short, Appmon doesn't have any of the baggage that might make a traditional Digimon season difficult to get into.
Which is probably the reason they made Appmon, well Appmon to begin with. Why they decided to start the franchise fresh so to speak to target the child (new) demographic while tri. targeted the older demographic. Appmon's come and gone, and they've abandoned that strategy, so newer entries of digimon still try to capture a new demographic while building on the old, so Appmon still remains as most stand alone entry of the anime.
But it is still very digimon in the ways that matter, meaning that if you DO like Appmon, you're very likely going to find at least one other season worth looking into. Logistically the season is a lot like Hunters and Ghost Game, with how evolution and the digital field works, the characters vaguely (with heavy emphasis on vaugely) resemble the Tamer's cast, the way the human digimon relationship's function resembles Savers imo. It's themes of humanities future and chosen one narratives are very Adventure. In other words it feels like a digimon season, because it works a lot like what came before it. Really, digimon seasons vary a lot. For the most part no two seasons are alike, there are very few things consistent in Digimon. Just a lot of things that reoccur frequently. So in the end, Appmon feels like a Digimon season, because it's just like a Digimon season in every way EXCEPT for the actual monsters.
Appmon is particularly similar in it's themes. Digimon often tackles themes of identity, alternate selves, destiny and responsibility, humanities evolution, humanities relationship with digital technology, and cross cultural exchange. So an entry may dive right into: what happens when you abuse your alternate self, or where does the locust of the self actually lie, glossing over the lighter "what would it be like to have an alternate self". Appmon covers many these themes too but it does so through the fresh lens, of Apps and realisticish (Heavy emphasis on the 'ish') AI, building its case from the ground up rather than falling back on typical digital world backstories. What makes an AI a fully fledged person, what is the point of being alive, how will humanity handle being overtaken by its creation, humanties newfound dependence on various AIs, and how can humans and sufficiently advanced AI coexist without one taking advantage of the other. Many of the same themes Digimon usually covers, but in the more specific context of a war between hyperintelligent super AI. Rarely are digimon significantly more intelligent than a human, but Appmon builds itself around the idea. Being Very Digimon, while also bringing something new to the table.
Appmon may have come out in 2016, but it's themes of AI transcending humanity are perhaps more topical than when it debuted. The original Digimon was on some level born out of the mystique of the new technology that the internet was in the early 2000s. As such, while Digimon generally toes the line between sci-fi and fantasy, it usually incorperates Sci-Fi aesthetics, but fantasy worldbuilding. Appmon's worldbuilding actually is heavily sci-fi, no implications of magic, but the themes and motifs of the story border still on mythological. Something closer to our modern understanding of technology. We know our internet, it's nothing special to us anymore. But we forget to a certain extent the power held by the internet in the modern day. Who is this power meant for? Digimon is in many ways, conceptually, a holdover from a bygone era, even as it seeks to stay modern. But Appmon is unapologetically modern, in a way that feels like it should have aged super fast, but somehow still feels contemporary 8 years later.
The other side of what makes Appmon the best to start isn't just that it's good to start with, it's that the other seasons are worse. To start with that is. I love them to death, and I don't think they are necessarily bad, but if you aren't already interested in what digimon has to offer, it might be a bit harder to sell. With how metatextual digimon can be you might think the first season would be the best place to start. I mean how could it not be. It's the first. Well, not exactly. Adventure is both the best and worst place to start otherwise. It is one of the cornerstones of the franchise, and so much of what comes after calls back to it. Adventure is a subtle story in a lot of ways that leaves a lot of the details to be parsed on rewatches. It's a genuinely passionate piece of art. In fact, the show is so detailed they many of the details didn't even make it in the show, with lore clarified in side materials. Most of these details aren't incredibly important, but they do provide insight into some of the shows otherwise confusing choices. Also, most were never officially translated into english. Also, the shows attention to detail left the show rife with opportunities for translation to be mishandled, leading to additional issues. Not to mention the 90s weren't exactly known for their faithful dubs, and this is true of Adventure too. Though Adventure itself still suffers a lot from metatext even outside of its own lore. Taichi's name and design are reused from the manga. File island, Server Continent, the idea of "raising digimon", the frequent presence of "garbage" digimon, and the disjointed evolution lines, are all borrowed from the general V-Pet lore. And ultimately Adventure is even more complicated by the franchises refusal to let it go. New releases, and cameos in other works are varying degrees of canon incompliant. Sometimes recent releases are insightful to the original work, sometimes they perpetuate misconceptions about the original work. Sometimes both. Sometimes its hard to say one way or another. To be clear, Adventure isn't really that complicated, itself. Very enjoyable even if you don't think too hard on it. But it's barely covering a whole maze of rabbit holes. I do recommend Adventure and 02, and it can ABSOLUTELY work as a first digimon series. But it does leave itself open to a lot of bad takes.
But, a familiarity with Adventure is sort of required to get the full effect of Tamer's, which serves as a sort of deconstruction of Adventure era digimon to a certain extent, or to actually understand Digimon Survive (a visual novel) which is in many ways a more mature retelling of Digimon Adventure. Otherwise Digimon series are either too unique in premise (Frontier and Xros Wars), and/or not very good (Adventure: 2020, Ghost Game) to warrant as a recommendation for a "first" digimon series. In all fairness, all digimon season are a perfectly fair place to start. None of them depend on each other to tell their story. I'd even argue that 02 is an acceptable place to start, if a baffling one. You don't need to know the meta-textual elements to appreciate their stories and characters and worldbuilding. That's how the franchise has survived through its multiple iterations. But when Digimon throws "Armor" level around casually, an artifact of an old storyline, it's kind of hard to argue that on some level digimon doesn't have an overwhelming history.
Savers is my second choice recommendation of a first digimon season. It too has its own metatextual elements of course, they are less overt and Saver's also just does its own thing worldbuilding wise a surprising amount. Otherwise its a solid story that utilizes typical digimon tropes, but doesn't explicitly call back to Adventure in its premise.
Of course there ARE other digimon media. The original Digimon media was the V-pets, which are fun, but have niche appeal. The same applies to the Digimon World games. Speaking of which, Digimon Games are generally not the best way to get into the franchise. They're mostly not very good, and I'd also add that Digimon games are even more heavily marketed to pre-existing digimon fans than the animes are. Digimon Cyber Sleuth is maybe the only exception, but even that very heavily pays homage to Digimon Adventure. Though, some of the manga, like Liberator or V-Tamer might be good places to start too.
There is one big problem though with Appmon as a first series. No English dub. Now, generally speaking the digimon fandom is plagued by bad translations. So many of the dubs generally kinda suck, so I usually recommend subs anyway, but I recognize not everyone can handle subs. There is a french dub, for those who understand French. I don't so I don't even know if its a good dub. If you're a dub only person honestly I recommend Tamers as a first season. It was the first one I finished. Its got a few issues that hold it back as an ideal first show for the uninitiated, but a solid story you don't actually need any context for. Adventure and Saver's dubs have problems imo that keep me from recommending them. (There IS a more supposedly more accurate SE asian dub of the early digimon seasons out there, but its harder to find + I haven't actually watched more than a few clips so I feel I can't exactly speak to its overall quality).
Ultimately, Digimon is the kind of thing where you can jump in anytime, and the kind of thing where there are plenty of fans who would be happy to explain the weird stuff. But you DO have to start somewhere. I just personally suggest Appmon.
Appmon is overall, just a solid children's tv anime on its own, as well as a fantastic example of what a digimon season can be. But without the 20+ years of baggage.

Old Sonic sketches that would lead to my Lost Prince AU(Slight spoilers & lots of rambling)
As the title says this was stuff for a past version of my Sonic stuff before I made my Lost Prince AU. I guess you could say I've been working on this stuff for a long time & these are in a sense the stepping stones to my stuff.
The dates for when I scanned stuff is on the pic cause it's interesting to learn how old these are & cause I had to edit stuff due to images being too light when I scanned them(plus everything was saved as a bmp because png files opened photoshop & I didn't know how to fix it as a kid) but if they're not there I'll mention the date if it's mentioned in the DA posts I got these from in my gallery.
I've put a keep reading due to how long this is(as if I haven't left other long posts without it in the past) & also because it's slightly spoilery for my Lost Prince stuff. Things have been edited/redone over time but there's still some stuff that would be a spoiler for later events in my stuff. I also ramble a lot in this & at points mention stuff meant to go in the current version to show similarities or differences between the old & present versions.
Just a heads up my self-insert Sonicsona cause for some reason I'm just there at points. My Sonicsona went threw a few designs changes when I was younger. This was also before I became a guy.
Another warning is that this was back when I didn't like Amy as much so she's not exactly drawn in a good light at points.(In the more current version I've worked on things)
There's also a bizarre thing at the end that also mentions weird crossovers(scrapped ideas that will make sense later) & mentions of violence. I'm sorry I just thought I'd explain some of this weird plot that has been changed over the years. Again a lot of this is no longer in my version of Sonic.
Tumblr media
The moment Sonic disappeared after Sonic Underground. I think I was working on a comic for the series(too ambitious & too much to deal with at the time) with this being a prologue page.
For context Knuckles tried to save Sonic from falling off Angel Island while it was raining & Sonic let go because if he knew neither he nor Knuckles would survive falling off the island if this kept going. The dialogue is muted by the rain, I dunno the context behind Sonic being struck by lightning was because I don't have it in my current stuff.
You read this like a manga page.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Images of Sonic while living with his dad after Jules found him when Sonic some how survived the fall from Angel Island.
Jules wasn't originally a mage studying chaos energy just some guy with powers thanks to his studies in chaos energy which he used to heal Sonic. In this he has a locket with him & Sonic in it, I have no idea why there's a doodle of Shadow & Sonic since Sonic won't meet Shadow for 50(in the new one technically 40) years. I think this is a ref to scrapped stuff involving an OC of mine named Kiku that was at one point meant to be Sonic's reincarnation before I scrapped stuff.
Tumblr media
A moment of Jules being a parent & cleaning up Sonic I think possibly after finding Sonic.(I'm guessing this since Sonic is catatonic/dissociating due to injuries & amnesia so he wouldn't have tried to run around)
This is based off of a scene from Digimon Tamers I watched as a kid from a scene meant to be a flashback of Jeri being cared for by her dad.
Tumblr media
I think this was meant to be comic pages in the style of a photo album. Going off the top pics this is going in a Z or zig zag instead of manga panels like the prologue comic.
lol This was done on triple 12, if only the time was 12:12 then it'd really be multiple 12s.
Left to right
First/top row:
So a difference between then & now is that the past version of Jules when he was unable to care for Sonic anymore left him with Vanilla & her husband(this was before I made Cake) while current Jules left Sonic at a hidden home. I think the idea was that Sonic Underground happened only a couple years back instead of 50-40 years ago. Because Vanilla & her spouse weren't born back then & I dunno where Chuck was Jules ended up keeping Sonic alone for safety instead of getting help when Jules couldn't keep an eye on him.
Anyway these two pics are Jules leaving Sonic with Vanilla & her spouse cause he trusts them to keep him safe. Sonic just sits there on the couch.
Second row:
-I have no idea how this guy died, Cake died helping clean up leftover Robotnik bases but that's an idea from later on. Prototype Cake left behind a wife, a baby daughter & an adopted son that kind of blames himself.
-Sonic starts to express himself more as he starts to accept he's in a better place. Here he is interacting with toddler Cream who has started to walk.
Third Row:
-Sonic either hanging out or going on adventures with Tails & Knuckles
-Amy chasing Sonic
Fourth/Bottom Row:
-Old design of my Sonicsona with an ex friend's OC Tae, they're only an ex-friend because we don't talk anymore. We kinda drifted apart & I mistakenly weirded her out cause I didn't know how to tone things down until later on.(Also kind of weird due to my wild imagination with weird crossovers & shit) I could go into more detail but I'll just leave it there cause this isn't about past relationships.
-My Sonicsona taking a picture after noticing Sonic & Shadow kissing in the background
Tumblr media
I put this in with the post I made with all my past Lara stuff(as in "Fuck you Ken, *makes Lara-Su a Knuxouge kid*" shit), once again I don't know why I gave a child version of her teen Lara's outfit.
So at some point Eggman blinds Sonic & Sonic has been trying to get as far away as possible after escaping. I had no idea when I drew this that Angel Island was a thing thanks to most of my understanding of Sonic coming from fandom stuff & especially Sonic X which either doesn't mention Angel Island or I missed the episode/episodes that do mention it. So pretty much Sonic(after getting patched up & his eyes covered) is wandering the forest & manages to find Lara who is playing out there & decided to play guard.
For some reason I remember that Sonic has no idea who Lara is & Knuckles/Rouge never told him not Lara who each other are. I have no idea why that is & that's been fixed in the present version. Anyway Lara thinks he's a stranger that's getting too close to where the Master Emerald is. I don't remember how this goes but things are eventually sorted out & Sonic is introduced to her later on.
Tumblr media
This is the image that needed the warning about past thoughts on Amy, I'm pretty sure she gets better eventually but I might be wrong because I only remember some things.
So Sonic doesn't want anyone to know he's blind & is trying to act like everything is fine but at the same time is acting a little distant at points. Amy is pissed he's ignoring her which has led to her raging & causing a scene, this is has led to Shadow taking notice of how odd Sonic has been lately.
While in this version Amy is mad that Sonic is ignoring her & pissed her attempts at a date are repeatedly rejected at this point(so kind of being selfish) in the current version she'd be mad because she's honestly worried. In the current version Amy would be getting mad because she's worried as a friend that someone she's close to is acting strange along with something clearly being wrong.
So Shadow(who for some reason I give a ponytail in this version) is in the background, Sonic is trying to ignore Amy(who is yelling), my old Sonicsona is pissed at Amy, I think I drew Starrk from Bleach cause he was my husbando at the time, Vector is trying to leave, the one with black hair is Tae(a past friend of mine's OC) & I have no idea who is next to her.
Tumblr media
For some context at some point after Sonic was blinded he ended up nearly drowning in a river while it's raining at night. Shadow thanks to Amy's outburst & finally noticing something is off has been trying to keep an eye on Sonic which leads to Shadow partly stripping so he can jump into the river to save Sonic.(Dunno why he stripped since it's raining so he's already wet, I guess so it's easier to go after Sonic)
After getting back on "dry" land Sonic just breaks & cries as he clings to Shadow cause he's just had enough. He can't see, things are changing, he's scared & has just had enough of everything going on. Shadow is shocked cause he's never seen Sonic like this.
This scene hits a little worse in the present version as Sonic purposely fell into the river or was about to cause I dunno if he managed to fall in then get saved or if Shadow stopped him. What makes things worse is that Sonic is a parent when this happens & left his kid with Vanilla cause he knew his kid would be safe with her should anything happen to him. Actually I think Vanilla called Shadow to go find Sonic cause she knew something was going to happen.
Sonic's son(I'm pretty sure someone figured it out but for some reason I'm trying to be vague until a certain point in time) doesn't exist in this version but his younger half brother eventually exists in this. Sadly enough Sonic was pregnant with his son's half brother when Shadow saved him in the present version, not only that Shadow is the father. My explanation is Eggman had a weird cloning ray that went wrong so Sonic ended up with a kid twice. This all is meant to happen when he's older.
Tumblr media
Final image in this collection of past sketches I found in my DA gallery.
For some slightly unnecessary context my self-insert Sonicsona use to live with a bunch of other Sonic fan characters in what was this odd building on the edge of an abandoned city.(For some reason named the forgotten valley cause the city I guess in a way was valley like) The building was full of mysteries & was semi turned into a place for people to live in as well as a place for travelers to stay at with their own rooms.(And Tails Doll in the very bottom basement locked in a mini freezer)
After rescuing Sonic, Shadow took Sonic to my place(apparently it was closer than going home) to get cleaned up & have somewhere safe to rest for the night. After helping Sonic get dry/warm & everyone was settled down Sonic finally confessed to everything that happened as well as the fact he's blind.
Shadow(who I thought it was funny if his fur/quills fluffed up after getting dry, I know this is a bad time for a joke) agrees to let Sonic stay with him & help the blue hedgehog deal with the situation he was currently in. Thanks to helping Sonic recover from the state he was currently in(depressed, struggling to deal/cope with everything) as well as help Sonic learn to navigate around being unable to see the two became close. The two eventually becoming a couple & got married before eventually having kids.
Things go slightly differently in the present version but a summarized version is similar. Shadow finds Sonic, they talk things out & Shadow helps Sonic(plus his son) out. Shadow & Sonic start a relationship while helping Sonic recover. Eventually they get end up in a relationship with Mephiles & get married.
Yeah surprisingly given stuff I made in the past Mephiles isn't in the picture until my recent stuff. I think this is partly due to my Butterfly Effect AU not being a part of this at the time.(Well Silver still got family but nothing else happened)
Bonus pic
Please be aware you can ignore everything after the 3rd paragraph(mentioning the short version) if you want. While it explains the end of my child self's(I was in middle school & then part way into high school before changes happened)
Tumblr media
This is technically related, this is from some scrapped ideas caused by a younger me having amalgamations of crossovers going threw my head. I imagine crossovers all the time still but not an amalgamation like this.
Before I go into rambling the image is an old version of my OC Kiku, his boyfriend & Lavi(from D.Grayman) who is off camera reacting badly to cooking. The person with the chef hat in the corner is I think named Eri, she's an OC from the person that made Tae & this is a joke about her being unable to cook.
The short version of this is that Kiku was meant to be Sonic's reincarnation & his boyfriend was Shadow's reincarnation.
So for context the tiny character in the corner is the old design of my OC Kiku who is a Blindshipping fankid. In this moment he is some how a Diclonius(from Elfen Lied & no he's not a queen nor ones that are caused from infecting others & age quickly he just has the cat horns & the powers), is a backup Arcobaleno(Katekyo Hitman Reborn), an ex-test subject(inspired by the Maximum Ride manga) & for some reason Allen Walker's(D.Grayman) reincarnation which is why an arrow for Lavi is going off camera & why the guy next to Kiku is meant to look like Kanda.(Because he is) I later stopped the D.Grayman stuff but kept how Kiku's boyfriend looked cause I really liked Kanda's design.
In present day Kiku has been split into two people. The Blindshipping OC Kiku & Chrysanthemum(Nicknamed Sammy) whois suppose to be the son of Martin Mystery from the cartoon of the same name. They are technically each other from different dimensions. Sammy still has the ex-test subject thing but all the other stuff was scrapped. Also Kiku's boyfriend still looks a little like Kanda still due to having some relation to Dark Magician who has a similar hair when Kanda's hair isn't in a ponytail.
Tumblr media
Here's them side by side in the most recent drawing of them.
So like I mentioned in the short version(just so I could get to the point for anyone that didn't want to look at the rest of the rambling) past me had Kiku meant to be Sonic's reincarnation.
I'm not proud of this but the idea was that my version of the Sonic series ends with Eggman injuring Sonic & faking Sonic's death at a festival before patching him up & putting him in a suit that controlled Sonic. Shadow would raise their kids alone while fighting against this new "robot" until years later on the same night he lost Sonic(during the same festival) before breaking the suit, learning Sonic was alive this whole time & the two dying in a fire finally together & freed from Eggman.
After that some stuff involving Bleach were they were tested on by the captain of the 12 squad. Sonic goes on to meet a girl in the living world & go on adventures with her. Shadow who doesn't remember anything would sometimes show up to keep an eye on them or help. At some point Sonic would finally get Shadow to remember & Shadow would be horrified of his actions. They both have something on them that keeps them connected to the world so they untie/remove what keeps them tethered after saying goodbye to Sonic's friend.
After this they are reincarnated as children that were kidnapped & tested on. Shadow(Called Yu when not being called an experiment code) had two friends that nickname themselves Feather(cause her hair is feathery & looks like feathers tied up) & Sound.(A joke on the fact he refuses to talk & uses sign language) At some point they meet patient BK201(their code name that the doctors call them, also Darker Than Black ref) who all the staff were nervous about because he's too powerful & was under the control of a fucked up doctor(ironic considering these people) before he was removed.
At some point a lot of experiments escape or are killed trying, BK201 fakes Yu/Shadow's, Feather & Sound's deaths so they can be dumped outside & get to safety while the doctors caught BK201. Feather & Sound disappear, Yu/Shadow is taken in by someone, makes friends & at some point remembers his past.
Something led to Yu meeting Kiku(at the time named Chrysnathemum which ironically is what Kiku translates into) & was a bit distant with them but eventually warmed up to them. Yu liked him but was unable to get over BK201 who he believed died after being caught. At some point he found out Kiku was actually BK201, BK201 was forced to be kept on a tighter leash as they did more tests until being rescued & taken to his parents who helped him recover.(Atem & Yugi) BK201's parents also helped take down the organization that kidnapped him & other kids to be experiments.
Yu warms up even quicker thanks to learning this is his missing friend/childhood crush that saved him. At some point they start dating, work on the fact they remember being Sonic & Shadow while going on more adventures. At some point they meet Feather & Sound(who is talking now that he's in a safer place) who turn out to be Blaze & Silver's reincarnations, the two disappeared because they had apparently come from the future & ended up kidnapped while seeing the past.
At the end after many adventures & stuff Yu & Kiku move to the country side to live a peaceful life. Silver & Blaze live with them when Yu & Kiku eventually make it to the time they're from with Silver turning out to be their son. They're all immortal & can finally live their lives in peace without having to worry about Eggman or anything else they dealt with in this new life.
There was some other stuff like at one point Kku being part werewolf/vampire later changed to part mummy(Atem), at one point being part saiyan & having a cousin that was not only part saiyan but Blackfire's(from Teen Titans) daughter & at one point a Mew(I called her Mew Mint Chocolate Chip) before I scrapped it since I don't watch Tokyo Mew Mew/Mew Mew Power. At one point I also had Atem a revived version of himself but the reincarnation of Tuxedo Mask(Dunno how this works) & Yugi the reincarnation of Usagi from Sailor Moon.
Oh yeah I also for some reason brought in Secret Saturdays by having Manic's boyfriend be Kur who ended up teleporting to Earth & becoming the Kur from the show after something messed him up around the time Shadow & Sonic died. Manic is reincarnated as Kiku's brother which makes sense because Sonic.
There's a lot of crossover shit but I semi forgot about it & I'm only aware there was crossover shit. I've calmed down on some of this & obviously things have changed.
There's no reincarnation stuff with my present Sonic stuff & no crazy crossover stuff. While I often imagine crossover stuff it's calmed down some compared to my past crossover amalgamation ideas.
I'm not going to tell you how Lost Prince AU ends in this but immortality & finally able to be at peace does happen.
Sorry for the bonus wild ride, hope you were able to deal with all of this. Sorry for rambling & the fucked up bonus rambling.

I haven't made a character study in ages, so I think I'm gonna do that and more, by discussing every single villain from my favorite piece of Anime/TV show in general: Digimon Adventure (01)
This is going to be pretty long, so look under the cut.
Digimon Adventure is a flawed show with relatively choppy, repetitive animation, too short fight scenes, and a generally poor soundtrack inn the Dub (looking at you, Hey Digimon!), but I adore it for the characters and story. Digimon tells a tale of trauma, hope, the effects of loss and grief on children, and what it means to be brave, and the villains that push the plot forward and reflect all of this are some of my favorite villains and characters of all time. So I'm going to break them down now, in mostly chronological order (I'll be using Dub names and info since that what I grew up on and have always used, sorry if that offends you for some reason)
Villain number 1: Ogremon
Tumblr media
Ogremon appears pretty early in the first arc as a recurring enemy and baddy. He serves as the rival and foil to the character of Leomon. Leomon gets hyped up by the main characters as the strongest active good guy on File Island, and if Ogremon is his equal, that makes Ogremon automatically intimidating.
However, Ogremon is dumb. He's easy to trick, and not too strategic, but he is full of willpower and fighting spirit, allowing him to tail the Digidestined across the entire island pretty ceaselessly. But that isn't for no reason, as Ogremon begins to work for someone pretty quick into his introduction... Devimon.
Tumblr media
What makes Devimon intimidating is his sheer presence, the respect he demands. The entire arc up until his introduction, every foe they battled (other than Ogremon), had been animalistic, or a good person at heart. Devimon himself is pure evil, he has no redeeming qualities, no light in his soul or kindness in his heart.
Devimon uses his Black Gears and Hand of Evil to brainwash and torture countless digimon across File Island, and his gears are so spread through the island that he can control the very land itself.
Unlike Ogremon, who is gullible and somewhat cowardly, Devimon is a cunning monster. Devimon tricks and manipulates the Digitdestined, brainwashes Leomon twice, and easily beats all of their Digimon when they finally fight him.
The only reason Devimon lost is because of the way Angemon fights. As revealed in 02, the Hand of Fate's power increases the more evil your opponent is, and Devimon is just so pure evil that it was a oneshot.
While Ogremon was there as a brute force enemy, Devimon is the first of many insurmountable terrors that really shows the Digidestined how small they really are in the grand scheme of things...
Moving on to one of my favorite characters of all time, and the second arc villain: Etemon!
Tumblr media
Etemon is goofy, that much is never hidden. He's a monkey that does an Elvis impression and rides around in a trailer performing music for his bumbling minions, but Etemon serves as a lesson that not every dangerous foe is so obviously dangerous. Etemon has a monopoly of the Desert of Server thanks to his Dark Network.
The Digital World uses a lot of crossovers from the real internet, and the Dark Network seems to be an embodiment of THE Dark Web. And Etemon controls it. The Dark Network allows Etemon to see just about anywhere and to take away the power that the Digidestined rely upon to survive: their digivolution.
Etemon is seemingly average on his own, but his true power comes in his coordination. Etemon's army is spread out, but it is powerful, and he can arrive just about anywhere with great speed thanks to how he sees everything there is to see. Piximon's hidden forest is the only place Etemon doesn't really have eyes.
Etemon serves as the mirror foil to Tai. While Tai is the Digidestined of Courage, Etemon represents hubris and arrogance. This leads Etemon to push a lot of Tai's character arc into place.
Now, once the Digidestined infiltrate Etemon's pyramid and get tricked by Datamon, Etemon shows up, and all seems lost. Datamon was the only digimon who was even close to Etemon's level, and he goes down pretty quick, but it's what Datamon does that really gives Etemon all of his best clout. Datamon fills the Dark Network with viruses that will make it destroy and consume everything they touch, before dropping himself and Etemon into it.
This seems to beat him, but NO. Etemon is too AMAZING to go out like a chump (or at least, that's what he thinks). Etemon bends the Dark Network to his will and instead fuses with it, becoming Etemon Chaos Mode
Tumblr media
When Etemon is finally defeated, his sheer power rips a whole in reality that sends Tai and Agumon back to Earth, leading to the whole reason DemiDevimon is able to sew chaos amongst the others. But at least Etemon's gone for good, right?
Anyways, Etemon looks and acts goofy, but that's because he's strong enough that he has nothing to fear in the slightest!
Next up is DemiDevimon!
Tumblr media
DemiDevimon isn't strong, or intimidating in the slightest. In fact, he's rather bumbling, but what DemiDevimon is good at is making other people better. Out of all the characters in the Digidestined, DemiDevimon is a major player in the arcs of Sora, T.K., Izzy, and to a lesser extent, Mimi and Matt. DemiDevimon doesn't have a whole lot going for himself, but he excells at making others look good, such as his boss...
Say hello to Myotismon...
Tumblr media
Myotismon is THE strongest Digimon in the world at the time of his introdction. Other characters eventually become stronger, but before Megas get involved, no one was better than Myotismon. He was part of the exclusive club of characters who got TWO signature moves, which include his Crimson Lightning and Grizzly Wing.
Myotismon is unique from other villains in just how well put together his plan and army is. Devimon had Ogremon and mind control, and Etemon has a good group of lackeys, Myotismon has a veritable army with enough firepower to conquer the entire city and kidnap 99.9% of its inhabitants within days.
What makes him even more fearsome is his personal feats. Myotismon is the character who really steps up the tone, killing several of his own minions on screen when they begin to turn on him or fail. But perhaps his greatest feat is that he got Gatomon to work for him.
Gatomon is a Digidestined Digimon, and the embodiement of LIGHT itself. Throughout the series, Light has regularly been shown to be the second strongest of all the elements, only behind Hope. Myotismon was powerful enough, EVIL enough that he sucessfully tortured the embodiement of all Light into being his right hand woman.
And when every member of the Digidestined team up to beat him, Myotismon reveals that he's done all of this in a weaker host, and he reveals his TRUE form: Venommyotismon.
Tumblr media
Venommyotismon is a Kaiju, and the first Mega level digimon in the series. He can very reasonably be argued to be the 3rd or 4th strongest Digimon in the entire show, depending on how you think he'd do against characters like MagnaAngemon and Piedmon. To beat him, the Digidestined had to activate the prophecy in order to unlock their own Megas, and it took a 2 on 1 for Venommyotismon to finally go down. This undead vampire king really just was That Guy.
And yet, he's not the strongest villain in the series...
Moving on, we have the Dark Masters!
The Dark Masters consist of four Digimon:
Tumblr media
MetalSeadramon
Tumblr media
Puppetmon
Tumblr media
Machinedramon
Tumblr media
and their leader, Piedmon.
The Dark Masters took over the entire digital world while the Digidestined were off fighting Myotismon, and they tore reality to pieces, reshaping the entire world into Spiral Mountain, a giant mountain of four zones, each ruled by one Dark Master, with their castle sitting on the peak.
The Dark Masters are the first digimon to use the power of teamwork in battle, and it really shows. They mop the floor with the Digidestined, and if not for Piximon's sacrifice, that would have been the end of the series. The Dark Masters arc is brutal, and with every member the heroes beat, it costs the lives of more and more of their friends. Sukamon, ShogunGekomon, Chuumon, Piximon, Whamon, the Numemon, they and many others were all victims of the Dark Masters.
The digidestined are only capable of beating individual members one at a time. MetalSeadramon gets beat, then Puppetmon, and then Machinedramon, until only Piedmon remains.
And yet, Piedmon still wins. He defeats every single Digimon the heroes have, including their Megas. And he turns them into keychains that he wears on his belt.
What finally puts down Piedmon is the power of the strongest crest unlocking its true potential. Hope. The embodiement of Hope itself, MagnaAngemon appears, and sends Piedmon through the Gate of Destiny, a portal to oblivion itself. NOTHING goes through that gate and survives. That is the only way that he could be defeated.
And yet, he is still not the strongest...
But we'll get to the final villain later, first... IT'S ETEMON'S COMEBACK TOUR, BABY!
Tumblr media
Oh, you thought he was gone!? NO! During the mini-arc where the Digidestined are battling Puppetmon, it is revealed that within the afterlife, Etemon has been putting himself back together molecule by molecule. Etemon is so willful, and so confidant, that he reversed his own death.
Etemon fuses with his Dark Network fully, becoming MetalEtemon, a being capable of rivaling Puppetmon in power. MetalEtemon doesn't stay alive for too long, but in his short few episodes, he kills SaberLeomon with relative ease and sends Ogremon into his entire character arc. Etemon decided that dying twice still wasn't good enough, and he cheated death for the sole petty purpose of traumatizing his enemies more.
But now, let's get to the final boss...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is Apocalymon. Apocalymon is the anit-thesis to EVERYTHING the digidestined are. While the heroes represent Courage, Friendship, Love, Knowledge, Reliability, Sincerity, Light and Hope; Apocalymon is Fear, Paranoia, Hate, Misinformation, Betrayal, Lies, Darkness and Apathy incarnate. He is made of the souls of every Digimon who died in the process of Digivolution, which means he is made of everything that the Digidestined relied upon to win.
Apocalymon created the big bads of every single arc on his own. Devimon, Etemon, Myotismon, the Dark Masters, they are all his creations. He is the ultimate darkness, so hateful and full of so much pure misery that he can do nothing except wish for the end of all life.
And he wins. Not in the Piedmon way where he beats almost everyone, no. Apocalymon KILLS every one of the digidestined and their digimon. He rends them apart, splits their molecules and data into nothing.
The only reason he didn't win right then and there is because of MetalEtemon. MetalEtemon's creation was foreshadowing, a sign that with enough willpower, you can cheat death. And that's just what the Digidestined do. With the power of friendship, they put themselves back together and reform their bodies, starting the fight against Apocalymon anew.
But they still don't beat him.
They can only fight Apocalymon to a draw, and he will not let that stand. Apocalymon unleashes his true ultimate ability: his self destruct sequence. Apocalymon possesses enough power that when he self destructs, the explosion will destroy TWO DIMENSIONS in the process, both Earth and the Digital World. If not for the Digivices containing the explosion, he would have gotten the last laugh.
Digimon Adventure is unique in that, out of every Digimon in the series, the VILLAIN is the strongest. Even MagnaAngemon in second place is nowhere even close to Apocalymon's level.
Apocalymon is the death of hope, the end of light, he is everything that has suffered brought to life, and he could only be defeated when he allowed himself to die.
Every villain represented something. Ogremon was the first showing of a threat that cannot be reasoned with. Devimon is the first brush with the harsh reality of the real world. Etemon shows that overconfidence will kill you. DemiDevimon shows that even people who seem like no threat can still sew the seeds of your downfall. Myotismon is the all too real chance that no matter what you do, some people will always seem to be stronger. The Dark Masters are a corruption of what can be achieved by working together. And Apocalymon? Apocalymon is the END. No matter how strong you are or how hard you work, there are foes who you cannot beat, and that you can only hope to cause their downfall. Apocalymon is the hopelessness that has condemed billions of souls, the misery and rage that will kill billions more. Apocalymon is nothing but the embodiement of everything that has ever caused sorrow... And that is something that cannot be beaten.

The State of the Digimon Franchise in the World of Digimon Tamers
Tumblr media
There is something rather interesting about Digimon Tamers in regards to the rest of the anime: The fact that the Digimon franchise at the very least exists within the universe. We know of course that there are Digimon games in this world, as well as the Digimon Card Game. If we go by the official blog by Chiaki J. Konaka, the first two seasons of the anime aired in this world - which is also referenced during several of the crossovers we got in later games and of course Digimon Xros Wars.
Ironically though the anime is not really referenced a lot in Digimon Tamers. Sure, we can read some of Takato's lines as references to it (like him saying that Guilmon should be at the very least as strong as Agumon and such), as well as that we know there are cards exiting in the series that are references to Adventure, but at no point does the show actually reference the anime.
However, given that Konaka confirms the existence of the anime in this world, I am just always gonna assume that yes, the anime does not in fact exist.
This does bring me to another question though. Or rather two questions that I always loved to ponder:
Is there another Digimon anime airing in the world of Digimon Tamers instead of Digimon Tamers in the year of 2001?
How does the Digimon franchise develop, after... you know? After Tokyo nearly gets destroyed by Digimon...?
See, here is the thing: From all we can tell the Digimon Franchise - at least until 2001 - is doing a whole lot better in the world of Digimon Tamers than in the real world.
All we know is, that the Wild Bunch created the code, with Keith McCoy being the one coming up with the entire rules for Digimon. And then at some point Bandai bought the rights to this - probably from the McCoys. (Did Keith and Rob get the money for this? We have to assume so, right?)
But despite Bandai being mainly Japanese, we know there are exclusive games for Digimon in the USA (like the one Jianliang gets from Jiang-yu in his backstory). Which makes me think that Digimon is a way bigger thing in this world, than it ever was IRL.
But if it is so successful as a franchise... We have to assume that there would be another Digimon season releasing in 2001, right? So, I kinda would love to think about what that show is. Because it is probably not Digimon Tamers.
The other question is, however, how the franchise develops after 2001. Because it certainly will do something to the franchise to have not only a confirmation that the fantasy of this franchise is actually a reality, but that also was responsible for at least some deaths. Because make no mistake: There are some people dying in Digimon Tamers. We have at least some confirmed deaths of the JDF during the D-Reaper attack on Tokyo, but there is a good chance that during some of the prior Digimon attacks this happened to.
Hypnos tried to keep the existence of Digimon a secret until Vikaralamon, but afterwards we know that the existence of Digimon is confirmed to the public. We do not really get to see a whole lot of the fallout outside of how it does affect Yamaki and the parents of the kids, because the kids are in the Digital World right after this. But by the time D-Reaper attacks, we see how the news paper titles go: "Is this Digimon related?" and stuff like that.
And to me it is super fascinating. What does this do to the franchise? How does the public relationship to Digimon as a franchise develop?
I will openly admit. When I wrote my old Digimon Tamers fics back in the day, I never really questioned this. For the sake of the story, I basically just went with: "Welp, the government did their best to sweep everything under the rug, and after about two years, things moved on as usual, and generally speaking the franchise evolved. Also Card Game Alpha, because the card designs were cool." But it is something I am almost sad about. Because it would have made for a real interesting basis of writing some speculative stuff.
Because I can absolutely see that there is some consequences happening. Especially given that we know that D-Reaper also appeared in other places, where there are probably no Digimon Tamers (due to SHIBUMI only distributing the Blue Cards in Tokyo). And yeah... Super interesting stuff for some worldbuilding.
(Also, never mind me: Just my hyperfixation for my childhood franchise reawakening...)

Respond to the following prompts out of character, then tag others you'd like to get to know a little bit better.
Roleplayer name: Axel
Roleplayer pronouns: He/him she/ her they/them
Muse name(s): A bunch of demons.
Preferred communication: Not... this website.
Experience: Putting this under a readmore because I decided to make it a mini novel.
Twenty years ago the good people of Gametalk's Fire Emblem forum told me about this super cool thing called roleplaying. It's like writing fanfiction but you write alongside others. There was even another part of the website dedicated to it. Fandoms went:
Fire Emblem
Yu Yu Hakusho
Yami no Matsuei / Gravitation (my introduction to gay people existing in media as something other than a joke... also not shutting the fuck up about a pretty boi serial killer)
Wolf's Rain
Kingdom Hearts
Naruto
In 2006-2007 the site went down and the Naruto crew migrated to Myspace.
Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children also came out.
Kingdom Hearts characters came back alongside new Final Fantasy 7 muses. Lived their happily for three years.
Drama happened.
Jumped ship away from anime/ video games to the X-men/ Marvel fandom.
2010/2011 was dragged to tumblr via Maurader's Era Harry Potter rps with at-the-time-girlfriend. (it's so freaky that some of my students are into this now and I'm like they can never know I was in these trenches once only to frequently comment on their Wolfstar obsession.)
Discovered The Mortal Instruments, Teen Wolf, and Once Upon a Time. There was a lot of crossovers between those three fandoms.
2015. Broke up with girlfriend. Had to find a different fandom because she very much got our fandoms in the divorce.
Hey, ya know what used to make me really happy? Gorgeous videogame bois.
Back to the Square Enix fandom. Now featuring sassy twink God from The World Ends With You.
Black Butler is published by Square Enix.
DeMoNs.
Girl I was crushing on asked if I had ever played Dramatical Murder.
Explaining Dramatical Murder to people who have not played Dramatical Murder is a choice.
Decided logging in and out of blogs was tiring, so I made a hub blog and made a bunch of sideblogs. Brought back a bunch of anime and video game muses back.
Yami no Matsuei
Black Butler
Pokemon
Everything Square Enix touches
Wolf's Rain
Digimon
Dramatical Murder
Yu Yu Hakusho
Sailor Moon
Gravitation
Danganronpa
Realized the Yu Gi Oh RPC is massive.
Had a good time there for a bit. Met Gold (Heeeey~)
Covid happened and gave me the time to play Fire Emblem: Three Houses
Fire Emblem took over my life again.
Drama happened and I will never discuss Fire Emblem with anyone ever again.
A friend on Discord asked Have you ever seen Hazbin Hotel?
I said no. He sent me a link to the pilot. I did not watch it.
Went back to the YuGiOh RPC.
Drama happened.
Tried to stick it out but it just wasn't the same.
Eight months after friend sent me the link to Hazbin Hotel, a combination of hearing Phantom by Natewantstobattle on my Pandora station and watching a video on Tumblr Sexy Men reminded me that I should maybe give that thing my friend sent a watch.
November 7th 2021- Initial response: This is cute. I like it! Where's the rest of it? ... HOW DOES THIS THING WITH ONE EPISODE HAVE SO MUCH OF A FANDOM?
I go to Wendy's.
Can't stop thinking about Hazbin Hotel.
Ask some people if they've ever heard of it.
Get told people on Tumblr hate Hazbin Hotel and it's crazy triggering to some people and to not let anyone know I like it.
November 8th: Can't stop thinking about Hazbin Hotel.
Make a blog for Alastor.
Get scared.
Do nothing with it for three weeks.
Can't stop thinking about Hazbin Hotel for three straight weeks.
Say 'fuck it' and promo blog.
Do not get burned at stake. Make a Cherri Bomb sideblog. Then an Arackniss sideblog. Icy blue peacock drops. Adam is revealed and I lose my shit over the Adam-and-Lilith mythology. Blitz continues to be a mood. Sexy fox drops. Show airs. Friend says you should write Val. I say haha, nah. I learn that moths squeak.
I've been here for three years. I can't think of anything that has brought me nearly as much consistent joy as this damn demon show.
(I don't know if I should dub November 7th or 8th as Hazbin Day because I watched it for the first time on the 7th (and remember everything about that day so vividly) but the brain rot really got me on the 8th.
Preferred roleplay type: Generally paragraph/multi paragraph. I love it when little one line dash commentary becomes full on paragraph / multi paragraph works of art.
For the general mood of threads? I feel like I dabble in a mix of things, but... I am fully aware that angst / hurt/comfort are my Bat Signal and if someone posts something in that vein I'll eyes emoji and drop everything to answer it.
Pet peeves & dealbreakers: Guilt tripping / vagueing for replies, vagueing that someone doesn't rp a character correctly... vagueing in general.
Dealbreaker? Acting as if you're THE portrayal of a character, not tagging common triggers. Trying to stir up drama.
If you're reading this, don't worry, you do not do this (but hello, fellow anxiety-ridden internet dweller.) After the back-to-back Fire Emblem/ YuGiOh debacle I... block religiously.
Best time to write: Weekends and... school year related holidays. I'm a middle school teacher.
Are you like your muse? Honestly? Out of all the ones I write here, the one I have the most in common with is Blitz. I am self-destructive / self-loathing, cut myself out of pictures, frequently tell my plant-loving bird-coded partner that they're outrageously out of my league... I am a disaster.
tagged by @arachn0philia
tagging: I'm a couple days behind on this and I don't know who has / who wants to do it, so, steal it if you'd like. Say I tagged you. :>

I’ve created some Vanguard Digivolution lines. After Tamer ZERO I plan to do a different take on the crossover with different partners that’s more of a complete au.
These ones just include their straightforward lines and possible dark evos. I don’t know when this story is happening because I’m determined to finish Tamer ZERO first so here’s the lines😅.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I was thinking that him having a different partner for season 2 would make sense considering this a complete au where everything is Digimon instead of Vanguard. So instead of his deck getting poofed away it’s his partner with the two coming together as a jogress representing the Liberators.
I also kinda want to use Erlangmon with him at some point 🤔. I’m still deciding how I would want to implement that. Maybe it could be a form that his partner takes on due to the Messiah equivalent’s influence. I do like the idea of his Digimon going from virus to vaccine.
Tumblr media
This is a different take from his partner pick in Tamer ZERO focusing more on the narrative idea on the development from Agumon representing young Kai to the distorted original Metalgreymon. With this comes with a shift from vaccine to virus as he becomes obsessed with gaining power to save Ren. I think BlitzGreymon is very the End-like.
Tumblr media
Kamui’s alternate partner choice was so hard because I decided that every member of Q4 has a partner that’s a different one of the main types so Kamui ended up with free which I think fits him well.
Tumblr media
Dianamon was a really easy choice fr😅. I also like the idea of her having a jogress with Kourin.
Tumblr media
This line is more in reference to her manga/reboot deck whereas the Tamer ZERO one is based on og. Overall, I think it fits rather well as an alternate pick.
Tumblr media
Loogamon is unfortunately too new to have an edgy recolor so the best I could do is Gabumon Black. I have considered giving him Dracmon too because I think they’d vibe. The only reason there is no ultra is because I can’t think of a good candidate for it rn.
Tumblr media
You may have noticed a pattern with all the Psyqualia users (minus Ibuki because the choice for him is perfect regardless of if it breaks the theme) that their partners are all virus type (at some point at least). I thought it would be an interesting reference to the darker side of Psyqualia. Doing Leon’s made me realize that we need more aquatic Digimon fr.
Tumblr media
There’s no way I couldn’t give Deletor Ibuki Arcadiamon. It’s WAY too perfect. Its power level even fits well. After getting friendship speeched he has Hackmon for obvious reasons.
Tumblr media
There’s no way I couldn’t give him Veemon. Using a jogress as a normal evolution is a bit weird but it’s been done before. Also because I was thinking that Paladin Mode reminds me a lot of Chronojet Dragon Z. It’s mode changes as Imperialdramon could be interpreted as it’s many strides. In the future I might include UlforceVeedramon or a different version of Magnamon here (to avoid too much overlap) as references to other strides. The black armored Magnamon is from ReArise. I was thinking it would be a good non-Stingmon included ultimate for Imperialdramon.
I have actually made one for Akina but I want to wait for DivineZ to progress more before finalizing it. I’m still playing around with various ideas on what to give Yu-yu. I’m thinking maybe Dorumon as a reference to Aichi having a beta Digimon considering the Dress seasons seem to remix ideas from the original.

Mega Man Star Force/ Digimon Crossover
What A Deal!
It had been about a whole day since Geo met Sleuth/Tamer and the young Stelar was uncertain if the 2 would ever cross paths again. Though it seemed fate had other plans because Geo did end up meeting Sleuth/Tamer about a day after there intial meeting.
Geo had just decided too make a small detour towards the Big Wave Battle Cards Shop. Geo had gotten a couple of duplicate battle cards from a virus battle lesson he had at home from the education program. The battle cards were just a couple of copys of the Cannon card and not wanting to have folder just full of Cannon cards, decided to trade them in at the Big Wave. Geo didn't think anything interesting would happen, just trade in the cards for another card and then head back home, simple. However imagine his surprise when he walked into Big Wave too see Sleuth/Tamer, the same kid he met about a day ago. Sleuth/Tamer was just chatting too the Shop Keeper, a boy in his late teens called Ken Suther.
Sleuth/Tamer: Ken I already told you the 40 Zenny you gave me was more than enough of a great reward.
Ken: Naw little dude, you saved my bacon by gettin' that Battle Card data back I gotta give ya somethin' else and no amount of no's will make me not want too give an actual gift.
Geo was definitely surprised and his surprise didn't go unnoticed as the Store's door let out a small ding causing both Sleuth/Tamer and Ken too look over.
Sleuth/Tamer: Geo! Wow nice too see again and so soon too, talk about a small world huh.
Geo: Oh a ya, it is definitely a suprise too see you again... oh also thank you for the coin... I uh really do like it...
Sleuth/Tamer: No problem, and like I said the Coin is a gift for telling all about Vista Point. I lookin' forward to go Star Gazing soon, definitely going to one cool night.
Geo: Ya, there are a lot of constellations that can be seen from Vista Point, like Draco and Boötes are 2 constellations that are easy too spot at the Vista, along....with...
It was at this point Geo noticed both Sleuth/Tamer and the Shopkeeper starring at Geo as he spoke.
Geo: Oh um sorry! I got a bit carried away there...sorry for going on fo-
Sleuth/Tamer: Geo everythings cool, I actually was getting pretty invested in what you were saying, plus you know all the cool constellations and I wanted too know more anyway, so you can keep on talking if you want!
Ken: Ya little dude, you got me hooked when you started talking about gnarly constellations and stuff. I never really knew about the all those Stars or even what there called, that you can see over at Vista Point. That definitely is going on my list of things too do, little dude!
That praise and interest had Geo flustered as beside his Mom, Dad, and Uncle, he never really knew anyone that took an interest in the Stars like him.
Ken: Well since your here I assume you want too pick up a few cards or browse around a bit. If you need anything from me just give a holler and I will be right there!
Geo just let out a simple yup and would have gone too the machine if Ken didn't say something too Sleuth/Tamer that immediately caught Geo's interest.
Ken: Now as I was sayin' you tracked down and beat up that virus swarm that took all those rare battle cards data, I gotta give you somethin' else and just a small cash reward!
Geo: Wait you went after a swarm of viruses and beat up all them?!
Geo didn't realize that he had spoken out loud, until again both of them turned there head too Geo. This definitely embarressed Geo but all that went away when Geo saw both Ken and Sleuth/Tamer still had smiles that could put the sun too shame with how bright they were.
Ken: You betcha, this little dude is one Akaw battler!
The word "Akaw" threw Geo off and Ken noticed as he immediately explained.
Ken: Hehe sorry about confusen' you Geo. Akaw is a Surfer's term it just means awesome or cool. Anyway ya, yesterday a swarm of virus came through like a storm and ended up breaking through the fire wall that was protecting the Battle Card data. I was on lunch break when it happened, so I was not there too stop the buggers. Those viruses should count there lucky stars that Hang Ten and I were not there or else those viruses would have experienced a wicked wipe out.
Geo: Hang Ten?
Sleuth/Tamer: Hang Ten is Ken's Wizard companion.
That made sense, Wizards were pretty common place for a lot of people nowdays. Well techinically they were always common they just went by Net Navi's before the company that made Transers put out the Wizard update for everyone too intergrate there Navi's more easily into modern technology around 20 years ago. After the update a lot of people just switched too calling them Wizards. Geo didn't have a Wizard companion, Geo's Father promised that when he got back from the Space Station Peace he would personally give Geo his own Wizard....
That never came too be
Sleuth/Tamer: Anyway I came in too the store the same day and saw Ken in a panic. I asked what was wrong, Ken told me about the virises and the data, and I told Ken not too worry as I would get that data back in no time flat.
Geo: Wow that is pretty cool, taking out all those viruses you must have some pretty good battle cards or do you have strong Wizard too help out with the fight?
Sleuth/Tamer: I say I got some pretty good cards, and you could say I have a strong digital partner at myside that was the real Hero in busting those viruses.
Geo did pick-up on the roundabout way Sleuth/Tamer referred too there Wizard, but decided too let that go.
Sleuth/Tamer: Anyway enough about me, are you here too buy, trade or just check out the newest and shiniest Battle Cards?
Geo: Oh that's right, I got a bit wrapped up in the conversation. I just came here to trade these Cannon cards in for another Card, in the card roulette machine.
Ken: Gotcha little dude, right on the other side of the counter you will find the machine. Any 5 cards will be all the machine needs too give you a shiny new one... that hopefully is not the same on you put in.
Geo: Yup, I just had a couple duplicates of the Cannon card that I wanted too trade in. Considering how common they are I just grabbed five to trade em' in.
Sleuth/Tamer: Well I hope that you get a rare card, the Card Roulette Machine shows now mercy some days...actually wait a minute!
This exclamation caused both Geo and Ken too turn towards Sleuth/Tamer.
Sleuth/Tamer: Ken I think I gotta idea about what too ask you for as a gift.
Ken: All ears little dude!
Sleuth/Tamer: Can you make the Roulette Machine be a one card trade instead of needing 5 for Geo.
That request definitely frazzled Geo, especially when Ken just gave a goofy grin and said " Right away little dudes, special time offer coming right up". Geo told Sleuth/Tamer that this was a gift met for them not him, though Sleuth/Tamer just told Geo that they wanted too give Geo this as a gift just because.
That threw Geo off and decideing just too take the gift went up too the Roulette Machine and started the Battle Card Roulette.
A Fokx-Fu 2, Voltic Eye 1, Chain Bubble 2, Squall 1
So far all the cards Geo got were all very nice and provided variety too Geo's cards. Having 1 card left Geo put it in and was surprised when this time a little celebritory jingle ringed out and a Battle Card along with a ticket popped out.
Ken's grin grew even wider as he told Geo that he got a special ticket for a free day at the Arcade located in Time Square. Geo was surprised at such luck being handed too him, and was quickly congratulated by both Ken and Sleuth/Tamer. This day was full of surprises and gifts for Geo and when Sleuth/Tamer told Geo too see what Battle Card Geo got his jaw looked almost comical as Geo saw the card he got.
Geo walked back home that day admiring the Battle Card he got
The Variable Sword
A powerful and rare Battle Card that was originally a Battle Chip, before the company responsible for the Transers as a celebration put out rare Battle Cards that had the data of those rare Battle Chips
This card was incredibly rare and too say that it made Geo happy too have this would be understatement. However The Variable Sword should have been Sleuth/Tamer's not his...
Geo looked at the other gift he had gotten, a free day at the Arcade in Times Square....
Maybe....
Maybe Sleuth/Tamer would like too go too the Arcade with Geo?
Again this is so cute and you wonderfully set the mood!
Sleuth/Tamer being quite subtle about their 'digital partner'. I can see Battle Chips boosting Digimon abilities similar to the Tamers' anime. Though I'm curious if Geo could gain special Battle Chips through a Brother Band with Sleuth. Something that occurs once he has Omega-Xis for awhile.
Don't remember which games specifically but Luna's offered an Air Float ability upon forming one with her.

20 19 questions for writers
<- why did they lie to me about the #? i demand answers.
I was in bed and going to bed and then I saw that I was tagged by ANTA MY FRIEND @antariies so i got out of bed to answer these
tagging: um. well i dont know. teensie. do you write...? you have to do this then. even if you are in bed.
1. how many works do you have on ao3?
39 right now, but I know I've orphaned about that many as well
2. what fandoms do you write for?
right now... all guild wars 2.
previously I've done a lot of metro 2033, half life, jojo's bizarre adventure, digimon, katekyo hitman reborn... and then less of hlvrai, final fantasy vii, and fruits basket... gw2 is all i do for right now. <:)
3. what are your top 5 by kudos?
This is super skewed because I orphaned a tooooon of my more popular stuff but Nuclear Option, two other vrai fics, Lent (<- should be number 1 if we're being honest and true) and a fruits basket thing that i should have probably also orphaned. the overwhelming urge to orphan things to skew the data further. you have to hold me back
4. do you respond to comments?
yes but not in a timely fashion (last round took me. over a year before i replied to anything. pensive.
5. what is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
I dunno about actually angsty.... the fic that makes me cry every time is butterfly bridge; I wrote it after having to put a pet to sleep. if I ever got around to writing more "portal to the metro" the ending would probably also rank up there. due to. the tragedies.
6. what is the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
proooooobably Lent? idk I feel like I get a lot of "fuck yeah that ending ohhh the catharsis" type reactions on Lent.
7. do you get hate on fics?
I have a number of times. sometimes anon but sometimes people put their names to it?
8. do you write smut? if so, what kind?
yes. sorry. the apologetic kind.
9. do you write crossovers?
not often... usually a crossover is a pretend thing just for me in my Imagination. however. portal to the metro... it was a roleplay between myself and a friend. and then i started writing it in earnest. and then i got tired. then i started writing primarily gw2 stuff. you understand. but someday I'll return to it. and then they'll all be sorry.
10. have you ever had a fic stolen?
um. kind of. when I was 17-18 I plotted out a fic I was working on and shared it with a couple of dear close friends. and then like a couple weeks later a massively popular person in the fandom in question posted my fic: their version. down to every little detail. 🙈 never found out which of my friends shared the planning with them.
11. have you ever co-written a fic before?
yeah, Pluto's Moon -- started 8 years ago, finished almost a year later... I wouldn't bother rereading it at this point but. it was a fun experience. we had fun. I also cowrote several chapters of a Reborn crossover fic with my long distance mmo friend when I was a freshman in high school. I don't think we ever got anywhere with it let alone posted it to FFN or anything-- I was handwriting short chapters between classes lol. I might still have those pages somewhere...
and then I think I would also consider portal to the metro a co-write in many ways. because it came from both of us :)
12. what's your all-time favorite ship?
well. I think Canach/Alba has been too prominent for too long for me not to say it. canon/oc numero uno!!!!!!
13. what's one WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
i dont even wanna answer and jinx it nooooo cry2. I yearn to finish everything... i guess maybe I have some weird misc smut fics I don't anticipate finishing. due to the strangeness.
14. what are your writing strengths?
dialogue is my dearest sweetest friend. my sweetie pee
15. thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
i LIKE it! thumbs ups. am I GOOD at it? thumbs in the other directions
16. first fandom you wrote for?
Kingdom Hearts before I ever touched any of the games. (like 17-18 years ago)
17. favorite fic you've written?
I feel like my most recent is always my favoritest 😭 uhhhhg
The Echo (current project)
Drochshúil (recent work)
18. what are your writing weaknesses?
I have no pacing control. I can't meet goals, OR i'll go full crazy and write 160k in 2 weeks. you have to watch out because that can happen to you too if you just go off your antipsych meds for a while
also filling in the stuff AROUND dialogue. so often i'll be editing a fic and just (sighs) dama (me) you (i) can't just have 8 lines in a row of dialogue. what are these people doing in between talking. and then dama (me) is like alright wise guy why don't you take a crack at it if you're so smart. and i do. but in the moment of writing i'm not super good at figuring out the in betweeeeeeens.
also I feel like ending scenes and such is really hard. also getting characters from point a to point b (locations) without doing a timeskip to "well here we are at point b!"
19. have you ever had a fic translated?
I had someone ask to do so with one of my metro fics, to repost on a Russian fanfic site; I wasn't particularly attached to the fic so I told them go ahead. but also I have no idea if it ever happened. heart hands. so maybe. there may have been another but I don't rember.

I have no idea why but something made me go back into my dummy attachment to all series protag crossover things and... Well, i've been thinking about this since the purple Tagiru card and the birth of the jokes based on it about Tagiru having his own corruption arc in Digica.
Who would be the most dangerous to the less of concern enemy out of the 9 protags (double Taichi, Daisuke, Takato, Takuya, Masaru, Taiki & Tagiru, Haru, Hiro) if they had a corruption arc? 👀
Context: Tagiru's Tamer Card is purple, which is unusual because purple is usually associated with dark or undead Digimon. It's probably because Tagiru's meant to be played with the Arresterdramon line (with Arresterdramon being purple, the card game has gone across the usual color associations just to match the relevant Digimon's color, and he does have some "spirit"-type attacks), but it's funny to consider that most of the Digimon protagonist cards so far have been red, and Daisuke being blue is pretty easy to understand why, and then Tagiru got pinned with the color that all the evil Digimon usually get. So of course, the amusing question that follows is how effective Tagiru would be as an (attempted) evil overlord!
Least dangerous: Masaru, actually! Not because he's incapable, but because of the above list, Masaru is the only one who comes off to me as being actively turned off by things like world domination or power for the sake of power. For better or for worse, he's the kind of person who's very self-focused and has goals related to his own definition of self-improvement, and even on the evil side he would still probably be bound by so-called "honor before reason". So if left to his own devices, the worst thing I could see him coming up with would be some underground fighting ring or something else that "causes trouble" but is hardly world-threatening, and even if he ends up being hired help he'd be like a one-off assassin rather than a core part of the threat.
After that in order: Daisuke, mostly because in many ways he doesn't really have a spine (I'm saying this affectionately) or enough conscious malice to get anything done by himself -- even when he's on the good side he's incredibly reliant on his friends to make any real progress. He's a pragmatic enough person that I think he could be surprisingly effective as someone else's right-hand man or minion, but I don't expect him to be a very good evil overlord by himself.
Hiro, who's outright stated in the series to be a doormat who just goes along with everything, and is only considered to be more dangerous than Daisuke on this list because he's a pretty capable guy who can keep himself together in situations Daisuke can't.
Tagiru, who certainly has the drive to do things but is one-track mind enough to be easily predictable. Which is fine in a lot of cases, but being an evil overlord not so much.
Takuya, because while like Tagiru he has a sort of one-track mind with things, he has a sort of "innocence"/"earnestness" Tagiru doesn't that I could easily see being corrupted into the kind of malice that enjoys tormenting people for the sheer fun of it. I think that's the part that's really scary about this, that if you flipped just a few switches in the wrong direction Takuya could be like those kinds of bullies who made Tomoki's life miserable.
Takato, who's often deferential, but, well, the scene where he completely lost himself to wrath is one of the most famous ones in the franchise for a reason. Of course, in that case his own good nature won out, but if a corruption arc is in play...
Reboot!Taichi, I feel could go pretty much any way.
Haru, who's thoughtful and intelligent, and only isn't put beyond the following two because he doesn't have a lot of experience with actual leadership, and his talent of keeping people together is outright dependent on his kindness.
Taiki, who has the charisma to lead a whole army and whatnot, and is very good at planning things out to achieve his goal. Power grabbing is what his entire series is about! The one thing that I think might hold him back to any significant degree is that his Good Samaritan nature of "I can't leave anyone behind" is portrayed as something that's so integral to his being that it's basically compulsive to some degree, whereas...
Most dangerous: Taichi. Of course. Well, we haven't seen him directly lead an army like Taiki did, but even when he was in an existential crisis about his career he still decided to go into poli-econ, and we know he eventually does go into hardcore politics. He's charismatic and great at bringing people together for a goal, and while he does have a self-sacrificial aspect, it's heavily tied to him having guilt over troubling or hurting others, and if that weren't in play...

AO3 tag game :3
shout-out to @ragecndybars for the tag! <3 I got to think a lot about some older fics and also the deep, eternal impact CC has has on my soul, so I'm emotional rn lol.
How many works do you have on AO3?
21! Which is, a lot more than I thought tbh. I've been writing these long, long fics for so many years now that I've sort of forgotten about all the little ones I've managed in between. And even the long ones add up after a while. Though, I did only import a small selection of my fics from ff.net, so the back catalogue of stuff I've actually written is way longer. ... That's fine, some of that stuff can stay buried lol.
Even at 21 though... *Looks at my shoebox of story ideas and outlines* Its... its still not enough. Its, its just no where close to even making a dent in everything I want to write eventually.
What’s your total AO3 word count?
650,444. I'm pretty sure at least half of that is entirely in CC, and another quarter is in can i bleed. Which, tbh I'm not sure how I feel about that lol. Deeply introspective fics, my passion, my talent, my beloathed. Some part of me does miss simply writting 5k chapters and calling it done for a week. Not all of me though.
How many fandoms have you written for, and what are they?
Only 10! That number probably isn't going to grow much either. I tend to gravitate towards bigger projects these days rather than simple oneshots or even like, 5 chapter long stuff, so I tend to go all in on a small number of fandoms instead of spreading my attention around, even though I want to.
Cardcaptor Sakura
Digimon
Dragon Age Inquisition
Percy Jackson
Persona 3
Power Rangers RPM
RWBY
Teen Wolf
Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle
BNHA
Top five fics by kudos:
A Most Precious Thing (Tsubasa): tbh this being number one is an absolute surprise, though I'm very happy about it. According to AO3, this was published almost 10 years ago, will be 10 years exactly in just a few weeks, but people still regularly give it kudos and comments. It was a complete experiment, style wise; I'd never written anything like it before, I've written one thing like it since, and I'm just so thankful that people loved it so much despite the inexperience behind it.
Of the Woods (Teen Wolf/CCS): This being so high up is not a surprise, and I'm annoyed about it. Mostly bc I know its only so high up bc its for such a big fandom, written during said fandom's height. I think its probably one of the fic I've soured the most on since I wrote it; its just not that great.
Crests Corrupted (Digimon) : Oh, here it is. My masterpiece. Maybe its weird to say that of the fic that's only 3rd, but it truly is, and to see a fic I have put so much of myself into being even this high and this appreciated means so much to me.
can i bleed within your love (Persona 3) : Hi! I don't have much to say about this one, only that I'm so happy with the sheer outpouring of love this has gotten, and I can't wait to finish it.
True Feelings Chocolate (Digimon) : Oh, um, I sort of forgot about you. What are you doing here? ...This is awkward, I really didn't expect this to do so well. Its just a silly little fic I wrote for valentine's one year. I'm glad it did well?
Do you respond to comments?
I try! I don't succeed a lot of the time; generally I'm very tired after posting a chapter and then its been like two weeks and responding feels awkward. Also I tend to ramble, if you haven't noticed yet, some sometimes I'll just close out of responding to avoid any chance of me accidentally spoiling or saying something I shouldn't. I'm... working on it.
What’s the fic with the angstiest ending you’ve ever written?
Oh that's easy. Its the RWBY one, Your Love on Your Sleeve and Your Pain Buried Deep. I don't tend to write angsty fics, I like happy endings, I think this is the only one I've ever written and I'm glad to keep it that way.
Do you write crossovers?
I've written one before, the TW one that's up there. I generally tend to prefer fusions over straight up crossovers; I've gotten several P3 fusions planned, a PJ fusion, the bnha fic I wrote is a fusion. I just, I love fusions. I greatly prefer writing them over cross-overs generally.
Have you ever gotten hate on a fic?
Once or twice, but that was ages ago and I've mostly blocked it from my memory. The fandoms I'm in now have been full of such lovely people, I've been really lucky.
Do you write smut?
Smut, as in the fic happens to have a sex scene? Not typically, but I'm not against doing so when the need calls. Smut, as in the entire point of the fic in the sex scene? No. I'm actually very bad at it. I'll do it if I must but I find even writing kiss scenes awkward, let alone everything else. I will gladly leave it to people much better at their craft them I am.
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
To the best of my knowledge? No I don't think so.
Have you ever had a fic translated?
I've had people offer? I don't know if they ever did or even if, in my general ineptitude when it comes to responding to people, I actually agreed they could.
Hey, if anyone wants to translate my works, feel free!
What’s your all-time favorite ship?
... Hey, thats not fair.
Hmmm, well, after much thinking I'm gonna go with Kurogane/Fai from TRC. Other ships may currently have their hooks in my brain, but kurofai is a big comfort to me still, I really love them. And lets be honest. Ain't no one doing it like those two.
What’s a WIP that you want to finish, but don’t think you ever will?
I have, its not posted anywhere, and technically I've barely started writing it, its almost entirely outline rn, but I do have a p3 fantasy au thats just... fucking massive. Its a huge project just from the outline i have, long even in comparison to CC, so long that I doubt I'd ever finish it to the point where I've barely started it.
What are your writing strengths?
Combat. I write a damn good fight scene and I know it. I take a lot of pride in that. I also tend to have a pretty solid grasp of pacing on an overall level for longer fics. Per chapter pacing gets a bit more eh, but the overall pacing of arcs and stuff for my longer fics, I generally know what I'm doing.
What are your writing weaknesses?
I never know when to shut the fuck up! This is a problem I've known I've had for years. I just let characters go on these long, internal monologues, which is only acceptable because I also write deeply introspective fics. However, it tends to slow chapters down a lot and after a bit, characters repeat themselves and its a problem.
What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fics?
I'm incapable bc I'm monolingual but I've always loved fics that use other languages! Maybe I can do that some day lol.
What was the first fandom you ever wrote for?
Yknow, if I dug far far far back in my ff.net account it would probably be Naruto? I think. My memory is fuzzy and I'm not actually going to go look. However, thats the first one I posted.
The *very* first fic i ever wrote, I have a very clear memory of for some reason. It was a FFX2/Series of Unfortunate Events crossover, I was in the fourth grade, I thought it was the coolest thing. Hm, memories.
What’s your favorite fic you’ve written so far?
I actually have two answers for this, which, I know is against the spirit and rule of the question BUT. Too bad.
One is A Most Precious Thing, bc it was such an experience to write. Despite being 10 years old I still love it. It was, as I said above, an utter experiment. It is written entirely in 2nd person, which is not actually a choice? I made? Um, I tried, very hard in the beginning, to write in in my standard 3rd, and it didn't work. The story actively refused to be written as such and I kept ending up back in 2nd. And at some point I just gave up and wrote the rest of it as such. And it taught me, so much, about point of view and how that relates to emotional distance, and really, but trusting myself with my writing, that even if I can't say why this is happening, somewhere deep down there is a reason to it and I should trust that. As a writer who takes my craft very seriously, this one has a soft spot in my heart bc of all of that.
However, Crests Corrupted owns a piece of my soul that I will never get back. It is my thesis, my masterpiece, It has defined years of my life, I have poured hundreds of thousands of words into it, I have given it so much of my heart and my pain. It has redefined how I approach writing, it has shaped, totally, the style in which I write today. Even years from now, even years after I finally finish it whenever that is, I don't think I will ever be truly free of it. It is my favorite. How can't it be?

(these are going to get long so i'll put a readmore to spare the dashboard lol)
[ indigo ]  when did you first start writing / roleplaying?
for writing (stories) i'd say in early middle school when i realized fanfiction was a thing. before that i just did a lot of journaling, or i'd finish a trip with family and write a long essay about everything we did on the trip. anyways when the fanfic itch hit i wrote obsessively and even titled my story journals as i finished them so i could keep them in chronological order. (like i had one named after spring, another for summer, fall, winter, etc. and then a series named after favorite gemstones x flowers). i think i filled 40+ notebooks of various sizes by high school? they're still somewhere in the basement at my parents' place probably.
then i found ff.net and realized people posted their stuff online so i tried that a bit, and when ff.net started getting dated i moved onto ao3. i don't have as much energy or drive to write the crazy crossover AUs i used to do but it's still nice to post there, or make up original short stories for fun. anyways TL;DR i'm always writing something somewhere sometime~
for RP i wanna say...early 2000s? back when forum RPs were a thing. and i don't mean the fancy kind they have now where you can custom-theme your posts, but just plain message boards where you started a topic to make "threads" and replies to that thread made up your interactions, and the rest of the board was divided up so you had locations in one place and character profiles in another, etc etc. they were everywhere and constantly opening and shutting down so i went everywhere too, lol. also signed up for this digimon PbEM RP group where they had a plotline and an all-original crest lineup but you had to make up your own digidestined and digimon and apply to join. then we'd RP on a word doc and email it to the next person in the group to get the story going. it was sooo old school but it was genuinely fun. i also applied to join a livejournal MFRP group but got rejected because my app wasn't good enough hahaha that got me a little scarred so i hid away from MFRP for awhile
(also a special bonus to the time my friends and i RPed as neopets faeries in a composition book we'd pass around in school between periods.)
for tumblr RP i think it was like 2014 or 2015 after a RP hiatus? the messageboards were dead or dying by then and heck if i was going to learn livejournal and its weird system so i joined some ancient chinese themed MFRP group with a similar chinese drama-inspired muse but that shut down within a month so i wandered around until i found a bigger more active group and stuck around there. and now i'm on and off here. :)
[ plum ]  are you more of a dialogue or a description writer?
when it comes to RP, i think i lean more towards description because i need to give context to my muse's lines. but for stories i'm more dialogue heavy, and i enjoy writing exchanges back and forth between characters.
[ mulberry ]  what tips would you give someone with writer's block?
i don't know if i'm the best person to ask but when i'm stuck on writer's block i work on a different...writing project..... you know they all have different vibes and stuff so a change of scenery gives the mind a break and stuff? it's good.
and it works because i still wanna write, i just don't want to write for Thing A so why not Thing B lol.
it also helps to find a focus, most of my writing block woes come because i don't know where/what to do next, so maybe i find a song, a pretty quote, or an icon that gives me the right "vibes" for what i want to express and think up the rest of the post from that.
it also helps to have a smaller goal to work towards even if you don't know how the ending will turn out. for example, if in a thread my A is interacting with your B and i think to myself "well according to what i've read in B's app he'd prolly hate A and think him a prick, so it'd be interesting if A gets a chance to showcase his prick side in this thread eventually," then i'd insert stuff into my replies to gradually make A more annoying and play off what B replies to work towards that "goal."
of course since RP is directed by both sides those mini-goals sometimes get sidetracked, but then it's fun to see in what new direction we take the interaction instead haha
[ coral ]  give a shoutout to one of your favorite blogs.
i can’t stress enough how helpful quotes/musings blogs are for like aesthetics or muse inspirations for me and the nice thing is most of them are still around even if they haven’t updated in years so HERE HAVE THIS POST WITH LINKS TO A BUNCH MORE GREAT MUSINGS POSTS BLOGS

Sit Down, Shut Up X Digimon AU
I'M BACK WITH ANOTHER DIGIMON AU!
Honestly, the 'I am going to create an crossover that is so doesn't make sense' image sums this up nicely regarding niche special interests and hyperfixations.
Either way, for those of you who aren't aware, Sit Down, Shut Up is a 2009 animated sitcom created by Mitchell Hurwitz, the creator of Arrested Development. While it is generally thought of being either a 'you love it or you hate it' show, it has a special place in my heart and despite its raunchy/lewd humor, I find it strangely comforting to watch.
And because I've been getting back into both Digimon and Sit Down, Shut Up as of late, it is only natural that my brain has the 'genius' idea of combining the two. It started with the innocuous question of 'What would the cast be if they were Digimon?' which is something I've asked for multiple other fandoms as well, such as Pepper Ann, Braceface, and Fillmore! to name a few.
I don't have much of a plot super specific to the show in a Digimon setting, but I do have an overall plot which I tend to use in most of my Digimon x (show) AUs involving the 'Digital World' being a near copy of the human/real world, with monsters having jobs, children, school, that sort of thing. All without knowing they're living in a simulation. The characters eventually find out they DO live in a simulation by another race foreign to them (humans), and find themselves having to go to the 'real world', where they find themselves facing a brand new threat, the Seven Great Demon Lords; seven powerful creatures, each representing some type of vice, who were created by the humans to purge the simulation and start over.
But some of them have their own interests in mind…
That's the usual scenario I use when 'brainstorming' (haha daydreaming) but with Sit Down, Shut Up I could go for less of the adult 'raunchy humor' everywhere, and instead incorporate more of an intense/edgy feel more geared towards adults with some added adult humor, rather than the moreso 'for kids' I would do for say, a Fillmore! or Pepper Ann Digimon AU.
Because it's eight champion-level (unless stated) adult Digimon who work in a digi-school and can barely tolerate one another, with some tolerated less than others. Then, everything they've known to be true is revealed to be a lie and they're forced to team up with those same people and kinda try to maybe understand them?
Now, I could see petty drama and 'canon-typical behavior/adult humor' at first being the norm, (kind of like how the sitcom only got thirteen episodes, which is usually when a Digimon season is still lighthearted. Unless you're Ghost Games that is. RIP Bokomon) but then getting Knight Of Cerberus'd and becoming significantly darker. Kind of like what Bojack pulled off, with the perfect mix of adult humor and a meaningful message.
You're probably wondering by now, what did my brain answer when asked that fateful question? Well, here's the Digimon I decided would fit and their lines! Rookie/Child forms are just here for reference, all are at Champion/Adult level unless otherwise stated.
Larry: Lopmon - Turuiemon - Antylamon (Deva) - Cherubmon (Virtue) (Can also become Vice if shit hits the fan)
Miracle: Terriermon - Gargomon - Rapidmon - MegaGargomon (May change Rapidmon and MegaGargomon if I find suitable mons)
Ennis: Elecmon (Violet) - Leomon - GrapLeomon - BanchoLeomon (Ennis is normally a GrapLeomon because I thought it would be fitting to have him at such a high level due to how 'great' he thinks he is and how he'd be himbo material if he wasn't so… Ennis)
Stuart: Guilmon - Growlmon - WarGrowlmon - Gallantmon/Megidramon (I thought Guilmon's/Growlmon's naivety was a nice fit for Stuart, along with the fact that they can and will fuck you up, e.g. Megidramon as an alternate digivolution)
Helen: Tsukaimon - Saberdramon - LadyDevimon - Star Beelmon
Andrew: Kotemon - Dinohyumon - Kyukimon - SlashAngemon
Willard: Piximon. Nobody knows much of his past, and frankly, they don't really care.
Sue: Haven't actually decided yet LMFAO.

Welcome to Kyoto! Following the reconciliation of father and son last episode, we take a page out of Fourze's screenplay and go on a class trip~! As Hotaro dreams for a future between humans and Chemies, for what reason does the Dark Sister Clotho become an uninvited guest?
Spoilers, I guess...
-Y'know, we surprisingly haven't seen all that much of Furasu High School itself.
-The time has come... for Kyoto!
-That seems to be the class trip location in shows like these. Kaguya-sama, Bloom Into You, Digimon Adventure 02, the sucky stealth minigame in Persona 3 that's somehow infinitely less terrible than any of the other hot spring sections... Think it was even in Cardcaptor Sakura too, incidentally.
-Big missed opportunity, by the way, to not have even a mild crossover between Fourze and Smile PreCure, which both had school trips to Kyoto at the same time.
-The furthest I've ever gone on a field trip was in 5th grade, when we went on a field trip to Tennessee to visit Ruby Falls. I've been there before with my mom, so it wasn't anything new, but it was still fun. Never had a full field trip again after that though.
-"I hope you make sure to STUDY!"
-Something that Hotaro's ill prepared for.
-Kudoh, you gotta help us out.
-No friends... but us~!
-Hello, Mr. Kannushi.
-ALIENS
-Kajiki and Hotaro! Hunting for aliens!
-Hi there, Spanner.
-There's your girlfriend, the Clover Torturer.
-Ohhhhhhhhhh
-I see Lachesis has a real green thumb.
-"Not impressed! I can do that too!"
-Ohhhhhhh, Triple Tuned.
-Oh, she's freaky, huh?
-"Are you done playing weird games with your weird boyfriend yet? :<"
-Oh, a Level 10~! Meeting our first one soon, huh?
-What the fuck is that.
-Don't you cut away from me, Lachesis, I wanna know what you just did.
-Hopper1.....
-Poor boy...
-YOU FORGOT HIM
-WHAT THE HELL, MAN
-"I fuckin' hate Kamen Rider. Which one of you assholes is gonna kill him for me."
-Oh, this guy's a jackoff!
-Hoppa~!
-He wants to meet Friend!
-Batta!
-Oh hello, miss.
-Special place?
-Himeno Hijiri....
-Whoa, she was in middle school seven years ago?
-And you were in 4th grade when this issue was published.
-...I think she's a little too old for you buddy, unless I misread it.
-He didn't see nothin', Rinne!
-Hot damn, Clotho's strong.
-Jungle Jan...
-Ohhhhhh, this hoodie guy seems nasty.
-Hotaro's seriously into this.
-"Weren't you nerds looking for UFOs?"
-"UFOS!? THERE'S A HOT OLDER LADY WHO LIKES THE OCCULT!"
-I think how awkward the acting is kinda adds to Gotchard's atmosphere rather than detracting from it.
-I hear this is kinda like how community theater goes.
-Haunted house...
-Rinne's having the time of her life today.
-Hello, Hijiwi-san
-
-YOU LEFT EVERYTHING THERE-
-Hiiiii, Smaphone.
-Golddash came out to play~!

I need some help
OK, so I'm almost done with my current fan fic and I'm having some trouble deciding which of the ideas that are floating around in my head I should turn into a fic next. This is where you all come in: gonna make a poll so feel free to pick whatever you want to see first! Here are the various ideas:
Inazuma Eleven High School AU: set in the same timeline as my various EnGou fanfics, it'll be about the Sakka Baka attending a prestigious high school outside of Japan, meeting up with friends from the FFI and how the eventual second FFI. Will also contain an ASSTON of EnGou fluff, and more information about how they start dating.
Future Card Buddyfight/G Gundam crossover: Gao-wow, along with his friends and family suddenly get transported to a dimension where all the different worlds from Buddyfight exist, but the game itself has been replaced by a fighting tournament where humans team up with their buddies to determine who gets to rule over all the interconnected worlds. But not everything is as it seems as a darkness seems to be lurking just out of sight. Can Gao and friends figure out what the hell is going on before it's too late!?!?
Prequel and/or Sequel to my King of Prism fics: Will basically be the events that took place at the Royal Prism Academy before my first Pretty Rhythm Rainbow Live/King of Prism fic and/or what happens after my most recent one-shot set in this AU I made
Digimon Tamers/Assassin's Creed crossover: Since Toei are being a bunch of bitches about making a sequel to Digimon Tamers, even 20 YEARS AFTER IT ORIGINALLY AIRED (and no, I'm not counting the audio drama/stage play that have come out recently since the events of them haven't been 100% translated), I'VE GOT THE IDEAS OF ONE THAT IS JUST FOR SHITS AND GIGGLES!!! No idea why I decided it'll involve a crossover with Assassin's Creed but IT WILL CAUSE WYNAUT!?!?!? The four main Tamers will be in Junior High and events will cause them to get transported back in time to one of the various settings in the franchise, CAN THEY GET BACK HOME TO TOKYO!?!?!?
SO...now the big question is:
I'll be running the poll on my twitter account as well, so feel free to vote on that one as well...in fact, I ENCOURAGE YOU TO DO SO!!! It'll give me a bigger size pool and I could use the additional feedback. I also don't care if you vote for the same idea twice or pick two different ones, do whatever suits you best.
Here's the link to my Ao3 account where you can read all of my previous fics and get an idea/caught up on the events of my Inazuma Eleven and King of Prism AUs:https://archiveofourown.org/users/bobgoesw00t/works

Digimon Adventure V-Tamer 01 - Disc 4
There's some random art of Daisuke on the inside cover of this volume? What could it mean!?
Ch. 25
-Lol, awfully hard to take the name "Sigma" seriously nowadays. He kind of looks like the Utawarerumono dude
-Engrish strikes again! Sigma has an attack mode called "Masks square." Very difficult to decipher what they were going for with that one...
-Very lucky that the "Gabo" pun worked in Japanese and English. I really admire these clever translation moments ("Gabby" in English "ga-ga-" in Japanese).
-Pretty weird to see a Piemon with a human partner after seeing him as the big bad in the anime. Especially weird since he looks like an adult man being commanded by a kid...
-Not sure I follow what Sigma/Alias III's scheme is here, but it's probably generic anyway (like world domination/power/etc.)
Ch. 26
-In this chapter they explain what "chat" is and how addictive it can be. Awww, the baby internet era. They had no idea what was ahead.
-Typical incel dude, experiences rejection once and then spirals and joins a cult. Glad they hinted that he's capable of changing in the end.
-The art style in this manga kind of reminds me of Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life. (Mostly the eyes and big heads).
Tumblr media
Ch. 27
-Onto the next Alias, Mari and Rosemon! Rosemon kinda looks like the LadyDevimon to Lilymon. I like both new characters' designs. Their stupid antics were funny too.
-RIP to Sigma's Piemon :'( that was pretty brutal. Arkadimon was creepy looking
-Neo's army looks OP AF. He even has a Venom Vamdemon!
Ch. 28
-I was a bit disappointed to find out that Mari's dumbness was an act :'( that was what made her likable tho...
-That was interesting when Leomon was like "what about me?" when his students were like "don't worry! Zero will save us." Sorry buddy, you're not the main character...
Omake - Double Tamer!! The Great Super-dimensional Battle!!
-Ooh, an extra long cross-over special. I love gimmicky stuff like this :)
-The mangaka explaining that the concept of parallel worlds is like a cheat code that let's you get away with a lot from a story-telling perspective was pretty funny.
-Don't really like how the mangaka were blushing over Hikari in bloomers...>>
-Parallelmon's powers remind me of America from the newest Doctor Strange movie. It's a fun concept. Interesting that they described him as "cool-headed." I guess he's kind of a neutral force?
-The fact that Taichi and Daisuke are both 11 but one of them was born in 1988 and one was born in 1991 kinda hurts my brain. I guess this implies that parallel worlds can also exist at a different point in time?? I thought "parallel" usually implied the same time but different versions of everything, no? Weird...
-They acknowledged the fact that digivolution works differently in Daisuke's world which was nice to see. Really shows the difference in mediums (since they probably keep the digimon in their rookie forms in the anime for ease of animation).
-Lol classic big Digimon boss battle, Daisuke's friends all get sucked into a void and the only way out is the power of friendship. How many times are they going to use that...?
-Kinda bugs me how Daisuke is so focused on the "fake Taichi" but barely acknowledges the fact that this Taichi has a completely different partner. (lol @ Taichi having an existential moment when Daisuke calls him fake).
-I don't really get how the digimental of miracles works...the other tamers "sent" it to Taichi, but I thought he already had that? What is it single-use or something?? (My memory for 02 is already fading, but I feel like Magnamon didn't make a ton of appearances.
That was fun, I think I would have liked to see characters other than just Taichi and Daisuke interact. Taichi and Daisuke are juuust different enough, but they're still both kinda generic shounen protags, so there's only so much you can do with this crossover. I guess this manga was released much later than I thought? The mangaka referenced Tamers in this omake too. I kinda assumed that this manga was pre-season 1 for some reason.
