This fight is underrated. It’s so short but so hilarious.
Aichi gives zero fucks about this NPC’s boasting and beats her in record time. He literally beats her so thoroughly and so badly that he apologizes. People forget how much of an absolute menace this boy is. He “draw monsta cardo”ed her.
Let it be known that Aichi beats world class fighters so hard that he apologizes.

hey guys did you know that there's a series of cfv 3ds games that never got localized or fan translated and ive been playing the roms through a shitty ocr screen translator. here are some of my favorite scenes from the first game so far (note: these scenes could be entirely wrong because the translator is kind of shitty but i digress)
- izaki asks you what gift he should get morikawa for his birthday. the choices are 1) one (1) grade 3 card 2) an astrology book and 3) a signature from ninja master m. clearly morikawa is an easy guy to get gifts for
- misaki practices her customer service greeting in the park because customers think she's too unfriendly. she gets tired of smiling, says her cheeks hurt, and then is basically like "this customer service thing is so dumb. cardfight me"
- jun kidnaps you just to cardfight you God help me he is crazy
like BITCH? YOU'RE JUMPING ME? OVER CARDS?
- i don't have screenshots but there's this scene where you as the protagonist go to find kai bc u wanna fight him and miwa intercepts you like "kai? oh that lazy bastard he's probably napping ill take you to him"
- in the same scene kai wakes up from his nap and says hes too busy to fight you. its really funny because hes clearly not busy if hes asleep on a park bench and miwa is even like Oh yeaaaa so busy (sarcastically)
- kai does give u a couple cards in compensation. i think the protag gets a little pushy about it like "no i wanna FIGHT bitch" (translator was a little weird here) and miwa steps in like Hey hey heyyy 😅😅😅 Let's not poke the beast here this is the best u are gonna get kid
- miwas also prone to napping in parks apparently
- i dont think this is the right translation but this next screenshot is extremely funny so i'm keeping it in
#cfv#cardfight vanguard#jamie talks#spam posting#this game is filling the VOID that zero left in me when it shut down#and this is only the first game centered around asia circuit#once i beat this one i get to play link joker and then stride g...#kinda sad they didn't make legion mate a game. my fave season ☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️

highly controversial opinion: i'm glad the application didn't go through YET because the current regs aren't ready for another team, let alone one building on a green field (unlike audi buying an existing team) and starting out with alpine slash renault power units wouldn't be beneficial either. now they can shift their focus to the 2026 f1 regulations and strenghten the relationship with general motors to enter the competition with them in 2028.
#but also i know for f1 it's all about money and they all know the sport is currently at its peak and just like in any other economic system#recession will follow so. finance dudebros saw the opportunity and took it.#also. watch liberty media sell the rights in 5 years or so to the saudi funds#and on top of that i also expect more circuits in the north america and asia with higher fees and longer contracts#because european circuits are usually more traditional outside of city centers and generate less money#and they pay higher fees#as my fave racers says: money only come into question in the first place#e

One thing that will always be funny is how Aichi shoots up in height like a tree in between season 2 and 3 but is still relatively smol
Using Kourin for comparison
Look at him. He’s as smol as Taiyou and Tokoha.
Also something I thought about is that the biggest missed opportunity in G was not seeing Aichi get hammered. He’s 21 let him drink. I would pay money to see Aichi drunkenly explaining the plot of season 1-4 to the G cast.

Started rewatching 2011 CFV again Because Reasons and I just kept thinking of this as I watched that episode of Aichi dropping his Royals deck and grabbing Ren’s Shadow Paladin deck with both hands so I’m reblogging this again because it really is one of the main reasons I’ll always love the 2011 series the most out of the 4 we’ve had - 2018 Aichi just doesn’t have the same impact as a character, in my opinion.
Also adding that I love how Aichi acknowledges there’s a part of him thats an Arrogant Asshole and that it’s a part of him, and because of that both Blaster Blade and Blaster Dark are his avatars, and he can draw strength from both of them. I also love how he never blames PSYqualia for his behavior (it really would’ve been easy for the writers to do, to have Aichi say “Yeah I was an Asshole for the early rounds of Nationals, that was because I was Power Tripping”) and recognizes that it was a choice he made, a bad one at that, but it’s one he’ll own up to. Obviously he manages to get a hold of it during Asia Circuit, and certainly by Link Joker he’s got a good enough handle of the ability that he can use it to keep himself from getting Reversed (possibly out of sheer will power) to save Kai. And then by the end of G it’s activating and it doesn’t even change his personality one bit, only leaving the part where it allows him to connect better to his units to help fight Gyze’s (ooze?) minions.
I’d originally put 2011 CFV on as a “Work life sucks, I need something with my favorite seiyuu in it to relax (and maybe escape to) for a little while every night” back in 2020? 2021? (early pandemic time was a blur of dealing with assholes in retail hell daily) and that first season really got me. And maybe I needed to hear too, it that it’s okay if there’s a part of you that’s an Asshole, but being one and hurting others with your words and actions is entirely your own choice (so I choose not to be an Asshole at work, and even if the mistake is mine, recognize that I don’t have control over how someone else reacts to me or any message I relay to them, no matter how nicely worded, and if they Choose to be An Asshole, that is indeed A Choice they’re making, especially if it’s also due to circumstances outside of my control).
All of this to say - Sendou Aichi is hands down my favorite card game anime protagonist (and definitely in the running for favorite shounen anime protagonist), and I will play a Majesty Lord Blaster deck in every format I can, because every time I see that card I remember Being an Asshole is A Choice.
Things I wish I could see more often in fiction: Have The Hero reach out and accept The Corruption wholeheartedly with both hands and getting absolutely Drunk On The Dark Side until The (Friendly) Rival (or The Crush, sometimes they’re the same person even) swoops in for an I Know You Are In There Somewhere Fight (with a side of “This isn’t you”/”Remember what you originally wanted to do”) and a massive helping of (homoerotic) Ship Tease. Those arcs always hit just a little different when it’s the hero who gives in and accepts it with both hands instead of having it forced upon them by the enemy. There’s something about it being a Personal Choice that’s just so much more impactful.
It also provides a lot of good context for The Hero’s speeches later on if there’s another repeat Corruption Arc and it’s their allies (or Crush, take your pick) who ends up on the receiving end of The Corruption because then the empathy and compassion the hero shows through their speeches isn’t just lip service - they’ve been there before and knows how it feels and how awful they felt after. It also means The Hero forgiving said allies almost immediately makes sense - their allies did that for them once, this is The Hero doing the same for them. It adds so much depth to the All Loving Hero that I wish they’d do it a little more often.
#cardfight!! vanguard#sendou aichi#i will never be over the psyqualia arc in s1#i love that arc so much it basically turned me into a ride or die blaster main lol#i play mlb in all 3 formats and this arc is the reason why#shop tournaments are always standard format at locals#so if it’s casual/pet deck week (which is hilariously enough like every other week at locals)#i always enter with d-mlb even though it’s borderline meta#but the guys know that’s actually my pet deck#between the maxed ride line (i run a 10th SEC blaster blade and a playset of 10th SP MLBs on top of SP Marron and Wingal Brave)#and OG sleeves and my g-era aichi playmat#this whole arc is why i have a metal asia circuit aichi charm on my keys#always reminds me Being An Asshole Is A Choice so Choose the Better Option

while we're at it i hate that whenever somebody brings up tibetan mastiffs nowadays they're almost always referring to the viral overbred monstrosities coming out of china and not actual normal tibetan mastiffs.
if you're going to a registered breeder who regularly shows their dogs in AKC/KC/CKC circuits, they will look something like this:
in recent decades it became fashionable to breed very exaggerated dogs as a status symbol for wealthy people in china, nothing about these dogs are practical it'll cost an arm and a leg to keep groomed. these are very extreme examples of the breed and really really shouldn't be normalized as the desired tibetan mastiff type:
for contrast, here's a bitch from the 1920s bred in UK and old photos from central asia, yes they were large but were never meaty or extremely heavy-set dogs, they should not look as if they're constantly fighting gravity.
#i love these guys#i should add theres most definitely breeders somewhere in china who are preserving the historic type#i dont want this to come across as superior enlightened western breeders vs backwards chinese breeders of a chinese breed#but its very hard for me to find resources since i can't navigate the chinese websphere but i guarantee theres likeminded ppl over there
