ok so Sayuri is one of the students that doesn't rlly go home bc there isn't much to go back to. Basically her parents were Rebellion pilots (or one was a pilot the other a mechanic. kinda unsure) but were both killed in action against the Empire abt 3-4ABY ish. obvs the Rebellion couldn't look after a 7-8yo while fighting the Empire

so the remainder of the squad manage to get her back to her parents' home village/ where she was born. so having like Everything change all at once leaves her pretty ?? and gives her some serious trusting-her-environment issues. her coolgirl "i dont care" persona is very much a result of this bc she's worried abt getting too comfy in smthn. (which is at odds w the OTHER issue she got from this event which is "deathly afraid of flying" an issue not helped if Master "traffic laws are just guidelines" Skywalker is piloting. but she tries 2 act like shes fine)

anyway fast forwarding to when Sayuri's abt 13 (roughly 9aby) she's visiting her parent's old squadron on a New Republic bc they'd all come visit whenever she could and after the Empire's fall they did a lot more pick her up and fly her to a base to ALL see her. and they're like omg Sayuri you came at the PERFECT time bc this rlly amazing pilot war hero who's also some like. mystical whatever is here!! he's on his way to some magic place we heard. maybe u can meet him!! which sayuri meets w her usual whatever bc she's not that gassed abt war heroes.

very worth noting that the squad's probably all seen her move shit with her mind, but theyre like oh you know how it is with teenage girls. the "nobody knows what a jedi is" + "the empire existed for a decent bit of her childhood" thing has kept anyone from being like yeahh sayuri should like. talk to someone abt this.

anyway she goes along when the squad are like c'mon let's see if we can see him. ok the only way i can describe this is you know the spiderverse like... spidey-sense recognition thing? that's basically what happens LOL Luke and Sayuri both have a FORCE USER RECOGNISED?? moment and Luke then makes a beeline for her then realises oh shit tiny teenager not jedi. would you LIKE to be a jedi?? and sayuri who hates her village and is feeling the strongest emotional connection she's felt in forever w this stranger she met 2 seconds ago is like okay fuckin sure yeah. and woo jedi!!

So Sayuri falls into the "one of the Jedi found them thru the force or by chance" category of students who get found. However Nymie very much falls into the second category, which is "CAN SOMEONE DEAL WITH THIS WEIRD SUPERPOWERED CHILD FOR US????"

So 2 things about Nymie: 1. like i've said before, she's from a very rich high class pantoran family. super stuck up, mostly raised by nannies & tutors, but somehow Nymie just didn't get the stuck-up genes like all her (4!!) siblings who are just obsessed w their social standing etc and is instead just :D all the time. 2. her proficiency ig is the living force esp in the 'good at connecting to animals' way (which I think means I legally need to draw her w Ezra).

so the former often led her to escaping her family's stuffy parties and galas or whatever (usually to whoever's house it is' garden or somewhere she wasnt meant to be) to find something interesting. usually a pet <3 one particular time when she was 9 she was following her Pet Sense but couldnt find anything in the house. so she kinda just reached out more and long story short thats how Nymie managed to call this hugemassive beast (i'd tell u what it was if i knew pantoran animals LOL) out of the nearby countryside to her. massively distressing for everyone, all these rich ppl were like "OH MY GOD I NEARLY DIED" (it didnt attack anyone). very funny exciting time for Nymie who was enjoying this new beastie friend til animal control showed up. saddening. everyone is confused bc HOW did that happen

a dude old (and cool) enough to have seen more than one jedi in their heyday (+ idk uni researcher knows his shit) noticed what happened w it going straight to Nymie and overheard her account and realised what happened and was like hi nymie's parents. i think u need to get into contact w the new republic bc thats a jedi right there (which they take and go oo social climbing. we have a jedi child people will think we're cooler. bc theyre assholes)

Omg studying 😭 thank god I’m done w college. If I wanted to get a masters tho 💀 omg. Ok hm. Def practicing. For some types of studying music can help. Other times it doesn’t. Having a specific area helped me like sometimes going to the library or sitting on the floor rather than my bed or in the living room. Having snacks or set goals for myself. Setting a timer could help. Working w ppl who would hold me accountable vs ppl who just wanna chill (less helpful)

Having the tv on is def a distraction or like trying to study passively. I don’t remember all the tools I used honestly. I probably would rewrite the info and give myself practice questions. I definitely struggled to pay attention looking back. Lots of my note docs would be almost blank bc I’d just start writing fanfic. I also attended zoom university for a bit so it was a wash. I sucked at studying in high school. My senior year was full of bs classes that I was actually interested in. I probably should get screened for adhd but my therapist was like you’re fine so 🤷🏼 w/e. I almost failed math sophomore year of hs bc I could not focus I would just draw mermaids in the corners of my notebook. My parents’ friend/a dif teacher tutored me and the one on one help is def the only way I passed. I took an easier class next year that I could bs my way thru and same for my senior year.

Haha I used to need the tv on to sleep at my parents’ house. I also used to have a much easier time w melatonin, weed, or alcohol bc I was constantly anxious there. 🥲 now I can lit sleep in absolute dark and w silence and don’t need any sleep aides. I love the lil fan I have blowing on my face and I love sleeping in the ac. I love my blankets I have some special ones and then a weighted one that is such a game changer. I've heard kfans talked about JaeDo going to hotels (whether just speculations or there really were witnesses/talks by staff). Doyoung doesn't have time to travel far, so having an airbnb app doesn't make sense unless he rents houses for a night around Seoul. I say houses, because this way it's secure and nice. You just come and type in the code without seeing the owner, I guess. Like that time he went to the sea and petted a cat. I don't think we got any result from it (unless he filmed a cover that he can't release due to a copyright).

backstory!

bora’s mother wanted her youngest child, and only daughter, to be nothing short of prim and proper. and all her life, as much as she hated it, the young girl went along with it; going by her parents’ very traditional and outdated rules for her own personal safety. unlike her oldest brother, she hated every bit of it. and unlike her second oldest brother, she knew how to keep it together and go with the flow for her survival in a house where their parents weren’t afraid of using extreme methods of discipline behind closed doors.

bora was calm, collected, and despite being so restricted by rules, she did things her own way. she was a straight A student, especially in subjects that her peers hated. physics and chemistry were things she especially excelled at. although her teachers would accuse her of cheating on her tests because she was skipping classes whenever she felt like it. bora would respond saying that it wasn’t that hard for her to catch up. she had a talent for learning quickly, anyways.

bora had a hard time being close to anyone in her family. she had a tendency of pretending to like her cousins or other family members just for the sake of keeping her ‘good girl’ reputation going. the only person in her family that she truly got along with was her second oldest brother. the two shared secrets, had a similar sense of humor, and they even talked about how they both wanted to leave and live freely somewhere else. the latter happened for him pretty soon, and he was away in california without taking bora with him. of course, she was upset about it at first, but she understood after a while. especially when he kept in contact and visited brooklyn sometimes.

behind her polished facade, bora had a plan, and she needed to get on with it as soon as she turned eighteen. she was sick of living like this. she had a lot of money saved up; courtesy of her parents giving her a few big bills whenever she said she didn’t have any lunch money. she could admit that as the youngest child, she was a bit spoiled. her dad could barely say no if she pouted. but even with that, her parents still preferred her oldest brother over the other two siblings, who didn’t get as much attention and love as he did. during that time, bora she was packing up her things slowly but surely, keeping her bags hidden away until the day came for her escape.

no one could’ve seen it coming. bora was seen and known as the family’s “good girl” who was always on her best behavior. she was even expected to start working in her family’s business after majoring in one of the best universities in new york. but when everyone woke up, she was nowhere to be found. her things and her car had disappeared as well. her mother insisted on filing her as missing, but nothing could be done, because she was technically an adult now, and it was evident that she deliberately left on her own.

it has been 4 years of moving around from city to city. bora kept staying with friends and in random motels here and there, or apartment buildings, that is if she decided to stay longer in a town or city. she eventually made her way to colorado. this wasn’t her ideal place, especially when compared to where she grew up; a big bustling city like new york, but she liked the contrast. it was different, and it made her feel calm to know that she was away from any place that her family expected her to be at. she decided to stay longer in the town of shrike heights, and rent a small apartment to live at for now while she worked as a nail artist at daniela’s salon in shrike mall.

her next goal? she has no idea. but she didn’t expect her little adventure to include deaths left and right, and being scared for her life. 

headcanons !

bora is a good actress. she could lie to you for her own gain, and a lot of the time people didn’t even realize it.

she is into astrophysics, and as much as she would’ve loved to study for it in university, she never had the time for it. other than studying from books she borrowed from several libraries around the country, or some of the books she owns herself. 

speaking of studying, she was the smartest out of her siblings. she loved reading and educating herself about new things she was interested in. if she got into something, she’d invest so much time into learning all about it. 

the name bora means purple in korean, and you could only imagine how much she loves the color. her wardrobe consists of a lot of lilacs.

you’ll never catch her slipping! she always wants to look good, even without any makeup on.

she’s a bit cold and opinionated, and can hold grudges, but for the most part, she’s pretty chill and doesn’t give a fuck about a lot of things. rly doesn’t have time for anyone’s bullshit

although the first impression of her might make her seem mean or like she thinks highly of herself, she really isn’t. shes nice unless you provoke her, then she won’t let you live it down

ONF UNIVERSITY AU

A/n : ok this is just the first (?) elaboration of the au. This is also meshed with senpai au. I actually already had a few moodboards (Yuto and Minseok ones) and a senpai AU of Seungjoon that opened up the idea, its just i did not have the time and luxury to expand the au. Another reason was that timing i am still learning about ONF so I don't want to go too OOC on things I am not familiar with.

To keep it short, the boys actually formed a dance club and they named themselves ONF

I do said dance club but if you wanna utilise it like F4 from meteor garden, it totally flexible

Also totally doable if you wanna use the university au as the main worldbuilding for other AU, examples, Sibling AU, or any BF headcanons I have mentioned like the MTL for PDA. MTL to confess and MTL to leave hickies, so do check out masterlist (that is constantly updating )

Also, even though it might retcon some setting I have already done, but it is totally doable for University AU to be the prequel for Office AU.

OH HEADS UP, FOR THIS AU I AM ALTERING THEIR AGE. Their real life age difference are about 4-5 years which is unrealistic to fit for the au, so shrink age difference to 1-2 years.

OK this applies to all of them but I only remembered to include this during writing for Minkyun, the boys are totally banned from playing any games at the cafeteria lol (not a strict ban but they are loud lol.) So they changed plans to play game and hangout at home, with Yuto coming over to sleep over.

Yuto : the exchange student / the foreign student who is majoring in Korean language. High chance going for Korean language teaching later.

Once they knew Yuto's Korean Proficiency level are above average, the boys are supportive and proud of him af. Lol also his devilish hyungs teasing him that he should get a girlfriend, it is a way to master language lol

Minseok : a junior who studies history and choosing Japanese + Chinese as sub majors. Who knows, he might choose translating/interpreting as major later (I mean have you seen some interviews where he used Japanese and Chinese, damn his pronunciation is good, trust me cos i speak both language)

Did not get to stay long, maybe just 1 year and a half then he had to quit university because his whole family are moving out from the country (no worries they contact each other online frequently). His hyungs defo doing a farewell party for him.

(For the WIP Grab Bag meme) OH NO you already know pretty much everything in this doc!! It’s just the chatfic you and I worked on together, but in a google doc in the hopes that ~someday~... you know. So here’s an excerpt written off the cuff for you:

Hikaru’s stomach is churning from the moment he regains consciousness; he doesn’t have to open his eyes to tell he’s there again, in Torajirou’s house that is quieter than his and Touya’s, that smells crisper, that has rougher sheets. His stomach knots because while he wants so desperately to be here and make good on his promise to let Sai play, it hurts for Sai to look at him and see Torajirou, to smile at who he’s not.

He blearily pushes himself up and curls over, chin touching knees.

“Good morning, Torajirou-kun.” That voice, oh... It’s comfort that warms under his ribs, and pain that twists close behind.

“Shall we continue where we left off last night?”

sk: what i shouted at ps before was basically: shindou wakes up as torajirou and vice versa a few times (both when they're like... 20-ish years old)

and hikaru lives a day of torajirou's life (kinda thinking it's a dream) and torajirou lives a day of hikaru's life (kinda thinking it's a dream)

but after it happens a few times they start leaving each other notes and guidelines OR MESSAGES WITH SAI. but like.... the first time they switch, this is a few years after hikaru's lost sai in his own life. and he still MISSES him. so he ABSOLUTELY CANNOT HANDLE waking up and seeing sai.

but from sai's pov it's just like... torajirou wakes up one morning and stares at sai like he's (lol) seen a ghost, and then starts CRYING and THROWS HIMSELF AT HIM and it's all PRETTY SURPRISING. and then he's CRYING and babbling about WHAT KIND OF DREAM IS THIS and trying to tell him all this stuff??? about things sai has no clue about?? and how he's been playing go, and he hopes sai's proud of him.

and he would absoLUTELy wanna play sai, but this is also shuusaku-era sai, so he'd probably... learn things from shindou? (but he's still gonna beat him, i mean, i'm not THAT horrible)

and like, sai would learn new things but what caused his EXPLOSION OF GROWTH that one summer was playing constantly for weeks on end, and on these visits back, hikaru would still have to fulfill torajirou's obligations (according to a very sternly-worded message he left with sai). so sai doesn't become instantly modern and mess with the timeline.

 but now you've got me thinking about how sai was always a substantial ghost for hikaru as in hikaru could high five him and maybe he should have thought that was weird but he misses it

BUT TORAJIROU WASN'T AS GOOD A PLAYER AS SAI. SO ON DAYS WHEN THEY'RE SWITCHED, TORAJIROU KINDA... FUCKS UP SOME GAMES

but he's obvi very influenced by sai's play so people see THAT as also being like "shindou-5-dan doing some weird risky old-fashioned play again"

he'd been kinda getting over his reputation as a weird unpredictable player, but now there are days when he looks like a deer in the headlights, and speaks pretty formally to people, and plays super strangely (for him), and misses some commitments (because hikaru's schedule-keeping abilities are prolly pretty reliant on just mental notes of like... "turn up at x's house for tutoring on monday nights" but his calendar is not organized)

there are all these rumours that it's the stress of the honinbou title matches (or w/e)

(roughly speaking).  touya cannot BELIEVE he had to remind hikaru how to use a zipper, just btw.

i had one last thing written out in our chat.... ok so. in the movie Your Name they cry when they wake up from their dreams sometimes, and we already know that hikaru cries when he dreams about sai ha ha h a. so at least once:

touya gets up and shindou's already out of bed! weird. he's fumbling incompetently around the kitchen, but for once he's being quiet about it. touya offers to make some breakfast for both of them because shindou's obviously not at his best. shindou thanks him very formally. it's weird.

shindou asks what they're doing that day; also weird, because he's actually usually the one who keeps track of touya's schedule too? but whatever, touya fills him in

(it's a quiet day, shindou goes for a walk in the park--also weird--and they play go later, and he's having a weird shuusaku mood and doesn't shout at touya at all--still weird)

and then the next day touya's up before shindou (AS USUAL) and as he's drinking his tea he hears a thump from shindou's room which might be shindou falling out of his bed.

and shindou emerges, bleary-eyed, still in pyjamas, hair all messed up (and touya's heart DEFINITELY FLOPS AROUND IN HIS CHEST AT THAT) and he folds into himself at the kitchen table and just drinks tea and stares at a newspaper without reading it

and touya's not really sure if he should mention it, because shindou doesn't seem to have noticed, but he seems to be slowly and steadily crying. just with his eyes! his breathing's steady and stuff. but he's dripping tears onto his pjs, and touya is a little... concerned.

BIOGRAPHY

one.

it begins with a baby being left to the orphanage, by a young mother, too young to take care of him by herself. so, with teary eyes and a last kiss to his cheeks, he is left only with an embroidered handkerchief and a name. nothing else.

the first eight years of his life isn't easy — he is too full of energy, labeled as a handful by most of the workers there. his attempts to escape are seldom fruitful, he can't get too far away before he is caught, reprimanded yet again, being told that no one will want him like this — that he will be here until he's an adult if he keeps it up. while young lyle utters that so be it, his heart stings, and he quietens down each time.

two.

there is another attempt of adoption when he is eight, but after it doesn't go well - lyle is there for another three years before the song family adopts him. he is apprehensive at first, after bad experiences and never being wanted drilled into his mind, all he has is to lash out, but this time, he tries to behave, too tired of friends leaving, of reprimands, of never being enough.

and luckily to him, songs don't expect much. a couple who can't conceive naturally, too rich and busy for their own good- decide to adopt, make a family for themselves without ever being around their kid. there are times lyle wishes they were here around, the first few months where he proudly shows the sketches he made, the grades he got from his private lessons. it's mostly received with a 'i'm busy, later-" and on the very few occasions he is complimented, something is off.

this family, the way he is supposed to belong, lyle finds underwhelming, as if something is fundamentally missing. but soon enough, he falls into rhythm, enjoying the private tutors, and that whenever he shows interest, he can learn about other subjects. history fascinates him endlessly, and it's all he wants from them, books and books, more lessons — and pleased with a picture-perfect son, they let him buy whatever his heart wishes.

three.

soon enough, he falls into a routine, of reading and studying whatever he wishes, managing to have some time off to himself to visit the surrounding areas as well. it's then that there is a new addition to his family, enough to throw him off rhythm, surprised to see them introducing a new brother to him.

micah song, a small boy with wide eyes, lyle is at a loss for words. while a part of him is unsure, unpleased with such sudden change — the other part of him wants to be better than that. doesn't want the boy to be disappointed by the lack of love surrounding the song family, the cold walls that surround them no matter how well decorated it is. so, he promises himself to be the best big brother he can be, and gives him a warm hug, tells him to call him hyung.

and maybe, just as he's trying so hard to give this boy a family, he'll find one too.

four.

it becomes less lonely with micah around, and although it takes some time getting used to, lyle finds himself smiling more often, sharing what he knows, laughter echoing off of the walls of their too big rooms. and while they become a handful sometimes, trying recipes and messing the kitchen — those are one of the best times of lyle's life.

five.

then things begin shifting, micah seems to hide things, now that he has grown up more, there is a distance between them lyle doesn't know how to deal with. he himself is an adult now, but a part of himself wants to cling on to his little brother, to times where they were closer. so, when, suddenly, the boy disappears, lyle knows he has run away. imagines remembering him hunched over papers, writing letters to someone — a lover, a friend, one thing or another. a better family.

it stings, that he wasn't enough for him, that as he grew older, micah didn't trust him anymore. lyle knows too well himself that the song family was far from perfect, but he had hoped they were family, in one way or another. and with micah gone, he feels bitter, and buries himself into his work instead, into books and history, academics, yearning for more and more knowledge.

six.

years go by faster for lyle once he begins studying, he gets his degrees, bachelor, masters, doctorate. he takes gap years in between where he travels under the sea, visiting new places, learning more people. acquainted with his kind, he yearns to know more. sometimes the surface kingdoms as well, though not as often as he likes exploring the ocean.

then- there are the surface people, often sailors. it's intriguing, the way humans are so affected by their songs, foolish to turn into lovesick fools. it's enchanting, and though lyle's life lies with books and travels, he meets sirens who do it often, sings with them, watches the way life leaves humans' eyes. witches hunt his kind like pets, torture mermaids and sirens for their scales every day, and for that reason, he feels no remorse singing them to their demise, for they deserve the worst of fates.

then.

life goes similarly for a while — until during one of his travels near the surface, lyle is caught, tangled in a net of spells. next moment, he is fighting with all he knows, spells leaving his mouth one after another. and somehow- their lives are tangled at the same time, in a net they don't know how to unbind. lyle is furious at the incapable wizard, the way he is forced to be near him- cursed to be in his presence.

there is only one thing he can do, and although he hates it with everything he has, he follows the wizard to his manor in oriana, hoping to help him unbind the curse, so he doesn't have to spend a second longer with him.

she was born & raised in the states - new york, specifically - with two successful parents. her father was in the stock market, and her mother was a professor. things were going well for the family until her father died when she was four due to a car accident. ten years later, her mother fell in love again - this time to a british surgeon visiting the states. they couple got hitched and brooke and her mother moved to ormchester, england to live with her new stepfather. that was when brooke was fourteen.she’s been here ever since.

in all that time, brooke grew up to be a little bit of a PRISS ngl. her father did well in the stock market, so she and her mother were doing fine after his death with what he left behind. on top of that, her mother’s job as a professor, and then later marrying a surgeon, did nothing but help maintain that level of financial status for the fam. so brooke has always been used to the finer things in life. imac g3s (she has a pink one thx), being around pagers and pdas and cell phones (tho she doesn’t have one). she lives nice. so she likes having nice things. despite this, bb is generally a nice girl. and she takes her studies seriously. she has smart parents who pushed the importance of education on her. not to mention, bb liked to learn. she liked school. she enjoyed both the social hierarchy structure of schools (she’s no queen bee, but she can appreciate the popularity chain) and the work and learning part of it all. she was used to being on the honor roll as a result.

she was not someone you’d find on the cheerleading team, but more someone you’d find on the sudent council. brooke likes to do things, likes to see change, so she joined a lot of organizations in school to keep herself busy. was probs the student treasurer for the student council and worked on the school newspaper. 

i liked to think of her as a mix of jackie burkhart, spencer hastings, and nancy wheeler. 

very goody-two shoes and very competitive. bisexual baby. has never done anything bad in her life, but lowkey wants to. got accepted into every college she applied to, so she’s currently trying to figure out which one would make the best fit for her. she’s not 100 on what she wants to do with her future. she just knows she likes art, even though she’s not an artist, and she always enjoyed art galleries, so she went for an internship at the art gallery in the city centre. in the position, she’ll find that she both likes watching the art curator work and decide on pieces, and the event coordinator organize and plan showings. she’ll be trying to figure out which she enjoys more while serving them coffee and running lunch orders, to help her determine what she wants to major in in uni.

can spot her at the docks more often than not, or pining after muse a. she likes the docks because she likes to people watch and she likes the colors of the water and the sky and the boats. its a very peaceful place for her. muse wise, bb is def a mainstream girl. won’t catch her listening to grunge or punk rock on her own. her discman and minidisc are loaded with songs from spice girls, britney spears, backstreet boyz, nsync, bowie, mj, and madonna, with some oasis and queen sprinkled throughout.
