i genuinely don't care how good a piece of ai generated art or writing looks on the surface. i don't care if it emulates brush strokes and metaphor in a way indistinguishable from those created by a person.
it is not the product of thoughtful creation. it offers no insights into the creator's life or viewpoint. it has no connection to a moment in time or a place or an attitude. it has no perspective. it has no value.
it's empty, it's hollow, and it exists only to generate clicks (and by extension, ad revenue.)
it's just another revolting symptom of the disease that is late stage capitalism, and it fucking sucks.

realized a drawing i'm doing rn is almost identically posed to one i did 8.5 years ago of a different oc, except the old drawing was instantly tainted by one of the players featured messaging me asking if i could take it down because their abusive, possessive rp partner saw it and got jealous of them "roleplaying behind their back" and i said "nah" and it became a whole Thing that i should have walked away from at that exact moment but didn't and the 6 months that followed contained some of the most truly condensed batshit i have ever witnessed in an rp community already well-known for its batshittery.
... anyway i love my friends. so happy to accidentally redeem the pose.

Murder trio
i actually cried seeing this in my inbox i will not lie. like actually fucking cried tears of joy /srs absolutely no words can express just how absolutely thralled i am that you drew this. i'm actually ACTUALLY so so overjoyed and flattered and so happy that someone could manage to encapsulate just how much i love the jk!trio and just how silly they are and how you put your own spin on this and made them just as cute and silly and amazing as i've always wanted to see I'M ACTUALLY CRYING THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR DRAWING THE JK!MTT 😭😭😭
im so sorry for the late answer i have literally had no time to draw but TYSM FOR THIS I DREW MORE JK AU 4 YOU TO THANK YOU❤️❤️💜💜💙💙 ‼️‼️
they just got out of an extreme gaming session at the boardwalk arcade and now the suns setting and killer wants to get ice cream before it sets so they can watch the sunset but as usual she's a bit too excited for horror and dust to keep up and dust is absolutely dying (she gets ZERO excercise and killer is FAST) and horror just wants to take her time and also spare dust from killer's wrathful running speed. its ok though they manage to eat the icecream while watching the sunset even while slowed down (the vibes in this one are immaculate this is what jk fashion au stands for. silly fluffy important friendship bonding memories. i love. it's not full effort because i wanted to get this done quickly so i wouldnt respond late but im UNFORTUNATELY busy and now its been a day,,,,, I STILL LOVE THE ART YOU SENT ME THANM YKJ SO MUCH)

i’ll be completely honest i’ve seen how some people receive gift art (whether as a surprise or thru a community event), and the clipped “aw cute, thanks!”-tier responses are always a little jarring to me lmao. maybe at least compliment something you like about it. i am aware that there are at least some people out there who will try to ingratiate others with gift art, and it’s pretty off-putting/obvious, but not always. Give some grace/show appreciation when you can, it goes a long way.

My piece is about a Japanese boatwoman navigating the sea surrounding Mount Oyamaand meeting the nature spirit responsible for the waves there. The boatwoman is grieving, as every fiancé she’s had has perished in some way, leaving her an outcast in her village, and considered a bad-luck charm for the young men there. In her grief, and to leave her village, the woman cut her hair, stole her father’s hakama and joined a fishing boat’s crew under the guise of being a man. Her presence continued to cause unlucky accidents for her male coworkers, until she was the only fisherman left on the ship. She decided to sail until the sea took her life as well, but instead of a watery grave the woman found a chaotic and bored nature spirit, responsible for the choppy waters and waves she had purposefully sailed into. The spirit’s kimono was made of the sea, her otaiko the Mount Oyama itself, her crescent hair stick is the moon. Her kimono sleeves frothed at the edges, flinging pearls into the sky. The woman saw as the spirit apathetically transformed random pearls into swirling balls of light that floated lazily up into the sky and past the clouds. She realized that those must have been the souls of those who died at sea, and some of them must have been her fellow fishermen. She stood in awe on her boat, just watching, waiting for her own turn to become a pearl.
My piece was heavily inspired by Vincent van Gogh’s Starry Night as well as the Japanese woodblock that inspired it, Hokusai’s Great Wave off Kanagawa. One of my personal interests is the effect of Japanese woodblock prints on the western art world, especially the on the post-impressionists (some, including van Gogh, were so into Japanese culture that they were called the newly-coined French term, “Japonisme.”), and I especially adore Hokusai’s work. I took the iconic moon and stars from van Gogh’s piece and the composition, boats, mountain, and wave from Hokusai’s print, molding them to fit together. Instead of a cypress tree in the foreground, like in van Gogh’s piece, I instead drew in a human form holding some oars, putting it in the same place in the foreground as van Gogh’s cypress tree; both are meant as symbols of death and mourning.
my art history prof gave me 100 for this and the essay i turned in with it :3c her class is the only one im not dying in this quarter lmao

I’m a sucker for crossovers and this is one of my favorites. One Piece x DC, Such an interesting concept! Robin, my beloved, I had to try to draw her.
Now her outfit is based on the dress she just bought in the last chapter. The first picture is my first attempt at the dress, it wasn’t until I actually decided to look up the the word ‘ruched’ (which I thought meant draped not puckered) for writing the alt text that I came up with the second design, which I think is closer to what they had in mind. Do I think I got it exactly right the second time around, no; but I at least had to try. I’m still glad I went back and did that redesign I like it so much better.
I didn’t add any jewelry because I honestly couldn’t think of what would look best.
There were a few other scenes that I could have honestly drawn but I couldn’t pass up her being a boss in a dress. I can not wait to see what happens at the gala.
