Taking a break from my lil International Women's Day gifset to talk about how I have so many thoughts about this moment I'm finding it hard to articulate them...and I know its because this is the moment that holds the key to understanding Nancy as a character across the entirety of the narrative of this show.

I'm thinking about how this is one of the first moments we hear what Nancy's relationship is to the core themes of "forced conformity" that gets pulled on in season 4—and how we learn that her primary battle is between desiring more for herself and her relationships and complacency, because she doesn't want the life her mother has (which she told Jonathan the scene before this one) but also still feels comfortable in the space that middle class suburbia allots her as an attractive and intelligent young woman.

Thinking about the way it's Jonathan who pulls on this war within her, and is the one who encourages her to step outside of what is easy and into what she wants—and how a lot of the reason we see her regress in S4 is because Jonathan isn't there to challenge the "easy way" that comes naturally to her, even though its not necessarily what she desires...in much the same way her brother is influenced by Will to challenge his own sense of "what he wants."

Thinking about how, no matter how the show ends for Jancy, Nancy will never end up with Steve because he has always represented caving to "normalcy" and social order complacency—even to the point where he talks about being "normal" in much the way Finn talks about Mike trying to be, which anyone who understands the themes of the show (aka championing the outcasts & weirdos) knows is not the winning hand in Stranger Things.

Thinking about how the only reason we even had a Steve revival was to bring Nancy to her own "narrative low" we saw for every character in Season 4, where she falls back into the comfortable familiarity of Steve because its easy and familiar (much like her home life)...and about how Nancy is currently at the crux of deciding whether or not her pursuit of more for herself as a woman and her relationships is just a phase or something inherent to her.

Thinking about how Nancy is a fascinating character because she, even moreso than Mike, has every single bit of what would make it easy to cave to what is "normal" in her world—and is now being presented with the choice between leaving the "phase" of rebellion with Jonathan to get with that one-time jock who wants 6 nuggets and a Winnebago...or pushing forward with someone who its not as easy to do life with, but who embraces and challenges the part of her that wants more.

....I just. These goddamn Wheelers and their ongoing battle with the familiarity of "normalcy" (and the Byers who always ends up challenging them enough to get them out of it) are killing me. Even down to the way both of them "backslid" in S4 to hit the "you feel like you lost" feeling with the PARALLEL MONOLOGUES of love confessions...only to end up standing next to their true love interest / the one who aligns with their (correctly) fulfilled characters in the end oh be serious

Oh lawd this question XD you've given me the opportunity to rant about my pups. I have three dogs.

There's Miraculous Ladybug (Yes that's her official name, we match) We just call her Lady ( I call her Buglund but my fiancé hates it lol). She's a cattle dog/rat terrier mix we got from the humane society randomly one day but she's truly miraculous. she's our first sport dog ever that we do competitive disc (frisbee) with. She's a world champion and had podiumed at multiple national events. Lady is an unstoppable beast with a mouth full of teeth but she's a scardy cat and needs her emotional support humans.

Then we have Donut our mini American Shepard (Literally just an Australian Shepard but there's a bunch of AKC drama bullshit yada yada) He's my handsome boy, my himbo, my dumb little dough boy. I love him so much but he's literally got like 8 brain cells max. At least he's pretty lmao. He does try tho even if he gets confused easy. My fiancé has been doing agility with him for a few months now and he's starting to really take to it, unless he gets caught up in the weaves lol.

Last but not least is Cinnamon Bun (Cinn or Bunny for short). She's our newest addition and at 9 months old she's absolutely a terrorist under my roof. She's a Baussy (Border collie/ Australian Shepard), one of our dog sport friends had an Oops litter (aka whoops those two intact dogs shouldn't have been anywhere near each other but now we have puppies) but his dogs were super healthy and health tested so not like some sketchy back yard breeding situation. But I digress, Bunny is wild. She has boundless energy and she's SO SMART, she's definitely been keeping us on our toes during her training. She'll be an excellent disc dog tho which is what we were hoping for.

I have an interesting relationship with clothes. See, in my mind, clothes is clothes is clothes. Sure there are some cuts that look better on certain bodies, but other that that, clothes aren't gendered. Its literally fabric. If I like the way something looks and feels I'll usually get it (if I have money :') ). As for my personal style I bounce around. My fiancé makes fun of me bc he never knows what to buy or how to describe it to people. I've really been enjoying drop crotch pants lately but also button ups that are half way buttoned to show a little tiddy, ya know ;). I'll just say relaxed style usually falls along hippie/boho and putting *~Effort~* style is more punk/edgy.

I think the biggest thing that annoys me about the 2Aers is that they want guns for all the wrong reasons. If you look at the second amendment in a historical context, you can see exactly why it exists. We just got done fighting the Revolutionary War. Why? Because Britain, our government at the time, was being tyrannical and using their power to harass and kill Americans. So after we won the war against them, we wanted to ensure that didn’t happen again, so we put into law that everyday citizens should be allowed to have weapons and, if the need arises, form a militia to go against the tyrannical government. And it worked! For the next hundred years or so, anyways. The most notable of these cases is the Civil War. Regardless of whether or not you agree with the Confederates (which I absolutely do not), they believed that the government had too much power and was acting in a tyrannical way, so they fought back. And even though the Union won in the end, as it should, it was pretty even. The North won some, the South won some. Because the federal military wasn’t quite strong enough to overpower them. But that’s no longer the case. The military now has bombs, missiles, tanks, biochemical warfare. All things that are not legal for everyday citizens to possess. Instead, we have guns that can cause a whole lot of damage to fellow citizens, but is no match for what the government can do. They get billions and billions of dollars every year to develop these weapons. And then they give a small selection of these weapons to police departments, who then use those weapons on citizens, many who don’t deserve it. And yet, the majority of these 2A enthusiasts don’t bat an eye to the military or the police using these weapons on innocents. In fact, these people are the same people yelling at people for not respecting soldiers and saying Back the Blue and Blue Lives Matter. They SUPPORT our strong government who has the power to wipe us out if we step out of line, a government many might describe as “tyrannical” (whether you agree or not). Those same people are the ones who attack citizens for using guns against the police who harass and kill them. (Sound familiar?) Instead, their defense of the second amendment is about…self-defense? Not against a tyrannical government, but against each other. A concept that does not appear at all in the constitution they claim to care about so much. The arms that are granted to us under the constitution are not to protect us against shoplifters and lost kids knocking on your door in the middle of the day; they’re to protect us against a tyrannical government, the very one you have spent the last 100 years arming to the teeth with so much firepower that your rifle won’t stand a chance

About your language brainrot. I see your "Reader's writing can't match tyvat's long and flowery writing" and bring you "Tyvat isn't used to books over 50 pages long so a short story to the Reader is a whole dictionary to tyvat readers".

Seriously, have you seen how thin the books are? They don't wrote novels, they write short chapters formatted in the way really old stories are. As in, summarizing all the events down into one smooth story then adding a few quotes. Fanfiction writers are insane. They will willingly sit down and write hundreds of words at a time. To them, a proper modern day story of maybe, oh 10k words or so, would probably be like the Oddessy itself.

If we were to combine the two headcanons. It would end up as many historians being intimidated by this insanely long written scripture in the language of the forgotten.

I'm going to take this a step further and say that if the creator asked some people to proofread their things, it would establish a hiarchy of who is able to actually finish the book the creator read and who isn't.
