forking terrifying but also compelling
CAN U IMAGINE THIS AS GOJO
like a cult of sukuna worshippers coz he's like held up as some sort of demon god or smthg who has followers bc he became such from a human. and technically he WILL protect u but only at the cost of ur life and eternal servitude which. a yike. and so they get ahold of the PR or smthg (theyre led by kenjaku who's using them for Their own ends) and trap Gojo.
and then kenjaku's son (a young man raised by his gramps Away from All That) who's mourning the death of his gramps and searching for purpose and hope happens across gojo injured and bleeding discarded after they finished with him bc his wings are a Symbol but also store like 99% of his power. he only managed to escape after months of meticulous planning
and so yuuji takes him home and nurses him back to health and wow thosere some weird scars. and gojos super hostile and suspicious at first but also cant really leave bc he has v little strength
but yuujis used to cantankerous behaviors and the dread of a man abt to die and unsure what to do with how he feels abt it. and so he just takes care and takes care and takes care of gojo even cleaning up his messes and doing demeaning tasks
and NOBODY'S ever done anything like this for Gojo just helped him just bc he's a person and not a god who could save them or fight for them (or a heavenly soldier or smthg im still figuring it out)
and so obviosuly he ends up slowly falling in love with Yuuji and Yuuji with him in return. and their sweet domestic life is rudewly interrupted by Plots of the heavenly AND demonly kind. (rude)
and kenjaku is defeated and sukuna's cult ripped apart (bloodily) and gojo refuses to return 'home'
after yuuji dies (which gojo mourns hugely) he actually recieves a blessing from the Heavens for his good deeds or smthg which the gods are SUPER mad abt but like. lol they dont get to decide.
so yuuji becomes a god. and he's like the god of persistent kindnesses or smthg bc i want him to be ok? and u know they live happily ever after
BONUS!
gojo becomes even more whimsical and capricious and actually answers his followers' prayers something bc he has TIME for that now instead of constantly being blood soaked and used and fighting fighting fighting and he blooms into this silly sweet guy that dotes on his husband and is a little um. eccentric? crazy?
(SHH u idiot u cant say crap like that shut up they protect the village shut up! and u know what itadori-sama makes the best freaking jams so if u insult his husband he won't share any with u which is ur loss bc they are literally Divine made from fruits his husband gifted him from the Heavenly Realms so srsly. just. shut up. i want jam.)

#i use a lot of like religious imagery in this but im thinking more of like the chinese setting or japanese setting or even greek setting#of like lots of little gods and their servants and then followers n stuff like that#a lot of them are inherently selfish or capricious etc etc#i dunno man im like flying by the seat of my pants here#this was all in the tags at first but it got too long why does that always happen?#whatever. its a good idea#or at least i had fun so#enjoy if u wish#jjk#jujutsu kaisen#gojo satoru#itadori yuuji#another fanfic idea#haha#plot bunny#*looks at the ever growing fluffly* *looks at the camera with a look of slowly dawning dread in the depths of my lifeless eyes*#theres more#IM NOT COMPLAINING#DO U HEAR ME MUSES#IM VERY HAPPY ABOUT THIS#(it might be mildly inconvenient at times and a lil sad bc i know i wont get to most of these but like. i love my fluffle.)#DISREGARD MUSES THANK YOU FOR YOUR BENEVOLENCE

so im watching hannibal with the same friend who i watch supernatural with and weve got a system now of watching one supernatural episode followed by one hannibal episode
and i kind of love this cause i find the contrast so funny and interesting between supernatural (were on season 12) which is so stubbornly pro-redneck and hannibal which is so viciously terrified of rednecks haha
and i think this is important cause hannibal seems to have a lot of problems with american culture
after all it nods to flannery oconnor who was very disturbed by american culture too
see the way i see it is it correctly identifies the figure of the detective as one of the great symbols of the american ideal of individualism. after all in the history of detective stories they originated in a time where citizens were enjoying much more privacy in their lives. and all of a sudden the private, individual mind of the detective figure is the brilliant tool for justice rather than any kind of national institution or external strength
and will graham is a lot like that - the show makes clear that his MIND makes him an asset in a way that no one even with the same evidence can really compete with, he just sees it his own individual way
now in a typical detective story that would be a great thing but here it is kind of very worrying. cause will needs more external control input over his mind from other people and institutions than he ever really accepts. would it really be a bad thing for him to accept more institutional interference even if it made him less brilliant
and i feel like the reason we get all this american hunting imagery and the idea of hunting as an american family bonding ritual is because it is the essence of american colonisation and american power for the individual to turn the environment around them into objects (this is hobbs insistence to "use every part" of the hunted animal to decorate and furnish his home)
in american ideology everything outside you is conquered and it all becomes a part of your private world
which gives us the "evil minds museum" of this show which i am convinced is a pun/double meaning founded on the reversibility of the observer/observed in this show - as in, referring both to "a museum of evil minds" and also a model of the mind in which "the evil mind is a museum" - a place full of objectified versions of aspects of the world
but hannibal is a little different from the killers weve seen in the show so far in a key way (ive seen 3 episodes) - he does not kill and deconstruct his dead victims, he tries to break them down while living
i think he represents the simultaneous desire to turn people into an object to make them containable and to keep the essence of their life which could even be expressed as their sanctity, the "gods image" part of them (hence all the religious imagery of this show eg "this is my design" - alluding to the christian grand design idea in which everything is imbued with a sacred significance by god)
the push and pull between these two desires is what puts him and will in a state of endless stasis and tension
and this is the reason for hannibals cannibalism - wanting to eat something but also wanting it to be more than just meat to be consumed at the same time. trying to have both. trying to bridge that line
cause the first two killers of this show, hobbs and mushrooms, are founded on fears of self-sufficient communities, hunting and farming. the sound design in the mushroom episode even really calls attention to the diy aspect of it, sounding like diy wood instruments that might be made in some exotic/secluded community in the forest
so i guess the main message of hannibal in that sense would be that we need to exist in the same community, the same world. rather than everyone in this show simultaneously having the impulse to objectify and subject people to their own personal worlds. so that everything is fragmented and no one knows how to fucking talk to each other without killing/eating each other (lol)

love the sinner (albus york/faith koria, bastard warrior || good boy audios)
Albus York takes a bath and Faithful washes his hair. (angst, slight argument, hurt/comfort)
2.2k+ words [ao3 link] [masterlist] [CW/notes: religious imagery ofc (this fic was basically an excuse to write that), typical albus york language, lots of self-loathing and some suicidal thoughts. albus is just having a bad time but hes also so whipped for faithful. speaking of her, i didnt make faith's physical descriptions vague or made it so that she's a "listener" but rather a character of her own! and i based it off of gba's description of her + my own interpretation hehe.]
once again THANK YOU SO SO MUCH to @slushiepizza for all the AMAZING suggestions and support like omfg i SWEAR i keep on saying this but this fic rlly wouldnt be finished without them!! i appreciate it sm!! and im shaking and kissing my irls that ive also bothered with this fic that will probably not see this THANK U SM!! edit: I FORGOT THE FUCKING READ MORE LMFAO
—
Albus York steadily sank into the half-filled tub of one of the ship’s quarters—stripped of his clothes, and left bare to no witness.
Gentle waves of the bathwater rippled against hardened, battle-torn skin. He dementedly mused that if he could go down further, he might finally drown.
He chuckled at the thought, shifted his position, and got to work. It's been a while since he last had an actual bath—way before he even agreed to this suicide mission of an adventure—with warm soapy water and scented products.
The constant near-death experiences and whatnot had interrupted the trio to get any time for themselves, much less to do any sort of basic hygiene. Since the route Devlin had charted for the ship to follow allowed for ample downtime, the Forgemaster had practically shoved his younger half-brother into the common bathroom and forced him to take a much-needed bath (Of course, not without a snobby comment about how his stench matched his personality perfectly well.)
Albus’ inexperience was made clearer with the stiff, awkward motion of his large, calloused hands as he attempted to wash himself. The unpracticed movement made the unfamiliarity of it all fully realized. How long has it been since he felt this safe? Does he even remember how to take care of himself?
Does someone like him even deserve this luxury?
The warrior submerged himself lower, down until his eyes were right above water level. He was thinking again. It was all that he had been doing for the past hour. If the gods wouldn't allow him to drown, then he hoped that the water would at least cleanse the grime and sin embedded into his flesh.
But he knew that filth clung to his skin like how a believer clings to the idea of repentance. No matter how hard—how desperately—he scrubbed (until pale skin turned into blood red, until rough turned rougher), it was all pointless. He had learned long ago that a bastard's prayers were never left answered.
The mark on his chest was a bleak reminder of that reality. Damnation was basically his birthright. Albus York was dead the moment he came out of his mother’s womb—dead to his family, dead to society.
Cursed to hell for being sin itself.
Life had a funny way to remind him—that goodness is something he can be in the presence of but never be a part of it.
"Albus?"
Speak of the devil, his ever-so-naive angel had arrived.
“Albus? Hello?”
Tender, serene, heavenly.
The voice was melodic—like the somber hymns he used to hear in his youth when his mother would take him into the temple and meet with her fellow brothers and sisters. At that time, he always felt drawn to the choir’s performance, despite not being old enough to understand the words (not that he was any more literate in the present). Back then, he was just a kid, blissfully unaware of the blasphemy he had committed for existing.
He had grown since then—in every aspect of the word.
"Albus! Are you still in there?"
A deep grunt, muffled slosh of water, and the pitter-patter of droplets on the tiled surface were all that Faith Koria had heard from the other side of the metal door before a familiar, gruff voice answered back.
"Calm ya tits, woman. I knew you were eager to see my dick but I never knew you were this eager!"
The outside replied with an annoyed groan, a sound Albus was all too familiar with, especially when it came from her. That being said, he couldn't fight the smile forming on his lips as he hastily dried himself up with a nearby towel.
"You've been using the bathroom for more than an hour, just what are you doing in there? Some people want to get cleaned up too, you know!”
The metal door swiftly slid open with a sudden 'woosh!', hot steam dissipating before the runaway nun to reveal Albus’ tall stature, half-naked and slightly dripping wet. Faith frantically averted her eyes on instinct, ears immediately burning with embarrassment. It wasn’t like it was her first time seeing him undressed—for gods’ sake, she treated his wounds like this when they first met! But to have him fresh out of a bath with his toned body exposed and his dampened long hair was—Wait! His hair!
"Alright, alright! I’m out, ya happy? I’m decent too so you don’t have to be a prude about it,” The bastard huffed, a little irritated with how his peaceful bath (or at least, as peaceful as it could be) was abruptly cut short.
“Albus, your hair!”
The man scrunched up his face in confusion. He gathered one of his dark locks and examined it with an intense focus. “Huh? Looks fine to me. What, you're not expecting me to be all prim and proper now, are you?”
“No, no, no! It's all matted and uneven!” The woman replied with a horrified concern in her voice that was rare for the warrior to hear directed at him.“It’s probably from all those monster attacks. Some of them must’ve managed to get to your hair! How long has it been like this? Does it hurt? Do you even have shampoo?”
“Uh…what’s that?”
“Ugh, never mind. Just—” Before Albus could process what was happening, Faith grabbed his arm with a surprisingly strong grip for a nun. She dragged him down near the bathtub he just got out of. He can even hear the water still slowly swirling down the drain.
“Faithful, what are you—”
“Stay right here. You got that, York? I’m just going to get something and I don't want you to move a muscle.”
A deep chuckle resonated within the man’s scarred chest—he always enjoyed it when she got this bossy. He gave her a mock salute and answered with a hearty “Yes, ma’am!”
The sister paladin made a face, letting out a flustered huff before hurrying to wherever she needed to be. So cute.
Albus had put on his clothes at this point while he waited (lest he risked Faithful suffering from a heart attack). A few minutes had passed by when she returned with a rather large pouch that Albus recognized was packed with the rest of her belongings. He deduced it must've been from her childhood with how worn down the embroidery was. Once vibrant floral patterns dulled from years of usage.
“Lean back by the bathtub,” Faith instructed. “I’m going to start detangling your hair. I might cut off some of the more unsalvageable parts too. If anything hurts or if I snagged on it too hard just let me know, okay?”
“Okay,” The man repeated simply, not really knowing how to react to all of the amount of consideration he was receiving. Abrasiveness was what he was more used to responding to, not the care that she unabashedly gave him.
She beamed brightly at his compliance (and no, his heart did not just skip a beat), soft hands found their way to his head and started brushing away the more manageable tangles before using a wide-tooth comb for the bigger ones. Despite the numerous warnings, her fingers were nowhere near to being rough. She was as gentle as a lamb—her slow brushstrokes eventually formed a rhythm that filled in the silence of the room. Albus decided to break the comfortable atmosphere.
“How are you so good with this shit?” He mumbled, voice heavy with drowsiness. Fuck, he felt like he could sleep until his next life. “Never knew sisters of Cindergorn get to be part-time hairdressers too.”
Even with his sluggish state, Albus could almost sense the nun’s eyes rolling above him, brushing out his hair with a slightly more forceful than usual tug.
“I'm the one usually taking care of the children at the temple. I’m used to seeing this kind of stuff whenever they play too hard. Obviously not on this level but you get the gist.” Faith snipped off the last of a particularly challenging knot.
“I've also been doing my own hair ever since I was a kid, so really, it's like second nature to me at this point,” she followed up, running her fingers through his hair with a satisfied nod.
Now that Albus thought about it, he had seen Faithful braiding herself earlier on their journey when they had just…tastefully borrowed the flagship meant for his father. He remembered swift, practiced hands twisting sections after sections of dark, coiled hair and had mentioned in passing how it was a hairstyle she often did to withstand the Eastern Faithlands' harsher seasons (Fortunately, it also turned out to be great for going-on-a-quest-to-kill-your-priest-brother-and-save-a-child seasons too.)
Faith’s hands suddenly paused. Before the man could ask if something was wrong, she signaled him to stay still while she rummaged through the pouch to get a small bottle. She squeezed a moderate amount of product into her palm and spread it evenly. As she was about to apply the substance to his head, Albus jerked away, quickly stopping her hand with his own as a furrow formed on his thick brows.
“Faithful,” He chuckled. “Please, I’m a warrior. You don’t need to waste your fancy shit on me. My hair’s going to get fucked up again eventually so what’s the point?”
Faith struggled to wriggle herself out of his grasp. “Wha–Albus, it’s fine!”
“No, Faithful, I’m serious. It’s just hair. Hell, it’s my hair. Relax.” The man sat up straighter at this point, the water from his long, damp hair trickling down along the scarred tissue of his back but it was the intensity in those familiar brown eyes that made him feel a chill.
“And I told you it’s fine just let me—”
“Why are you making it a big fuckin’ deal? What do you want from me?”
“What?” Faith’s voice cracked, appalled and confused. “Albus, what are you even talking about? I’m not asking for anything—”
“I’m just a bastard you hired to kill your brother! I was paid to do the dirty work for you, not to be your fucking toy—”
“Albus, wha—Y–You’re not a toy! Why do you—”
“If I’m not then why are you being like this to me? There’s a catch—there’s always a fucking catch. So what the fuck do you want from me?”
The nun managed to finally yank her hand away from his harsh grip and angrily slammed at the smooth surface of the tub.
“I just want you to stop being stubborn for once and let me do this for you!”
The silence that followed between them felt suffocating.
Faith’s breath hitched, shocked by her outburst. She immediately straightened up her posture only to look down shamefully at the tiled floor. A shaky sigh left her lips, and Albus was doing everything in his power to stop himself from reaching out to her, seeking salvation he knew she shouldn’t give him because he was not sorry that he was like this. He wasn’t afraid to show his filth to the world because it was all he knew to do—all he was taught to do. There’s no excuse, no justification, no escape. She’s everything good and he’s just scum or worse yet—he’s a bastard.
Because she’s an angel and he’s far worse than the devil.
“This isn't anything all that fancy…just something to keep it healthy and less stressful on your scalp. I just want you to feel okay. So please…” She trailed off. “Let me.”
“It’s…It’s just hair, Faithful. I’ll be okay, I’m a big boy,” Albus joked, but his words were sincere. He almost found the whole thing amusing—having the ever-so-snappy sister paladin fuss over him—if he didn’t get a feel for how much…his comfort seemed to mean a lot to her.
Faith pursed her lips, her gaze still fixed downward. “I just think…you deserve at least one good hair day.”
It's that word again. Deserve. Does she really think that? That he's worthy of all of this?
The man cleared his throat with a curt nod. Hesitantly, the nun's fingers slowly found their way back to the crown of his head, resuming whatever she was supposed to do. Steady, rhythmic brushstrokes filled the quiet once again.
After what felt like hours of stillness, the bastard dared himself to shift his head and face her timidly—as if he was afraid he could melt under her piercing gaze.
"Thank you, for…for this," Albus grunted. He hadn't only meant for his hair.
Faith graced him with a dimpled smile—the one that made her eyes squint and showed the tiniest bit of the gap between her front teeth. She proceeded to tuck away a stray lock behind his ear, trailing down to hover over his cheek. Albus can practically feel the nervous tremble on her fingers as if she were hesitating on something. It all came to nothing in the end, closing her hands in a fist before withdrawing to her pouch to start cleaning up.
“Anytime, Albus. Besides, with how you always manage to find yourself in trouble,” the sister murmured, her voice playful (it never failed to leave Albus’ mind racing). Her eyes glinted as they locked into his almost like clockwork. “How can I not?”
Albus York sat by the empty bathtub of the ship’s quarters—fully clothed yet he had felt the most bare that he had ever been in front of someone.
Faith smiled at him again and he swore he could make out the faintest halo crowning her head under the fluorescent bathroom light. ---- a/n: this is probably my most favorite fic that i wrote and i hope you enjoyed! lemme tell u this fic took way to long and got me so stressed for no reason idk ! i was worrying abt how this would happen in the timeline and all the lil details and then !! its a fic!! and im suppose to be having fun!! i am being self-indulgent!! Give Zalgo lore pls/nf
ok ok . so zalgo lore is still under the works, but i have core concepts down for him . . .
lots of demon and goat and skeletal imagery, obviously. . . eyes, too. lots of eyes. he likes to take them, says it gives him more sight over the forest - which he thinks he's the 'ruler' of.
as for plot. he was a demon that sort of 'ran' the forest while O/S was dormant. he ate people who came in, made monsters out of the animals, made the general area roaming with the paranormal - he likes chaos, horror, power.
when O/S woke up, he was quickly dethroned. he's weaker than them, 'allergic' to their bodies/presence, etc.
slendy's jaw is able to detach and he vomits a liquid that's poison to zalgo - said liquid is used as the ink in the slender pages. when the proxies surrounded the forest with slender pages, it acted as a sort of... force field? It trapped zalgo - and his puppets - in the forest. sort of like a salt circle! they can't tear down the pages, can't even get close to them without adverse reactions. this is why slendy and the proxies get so heated when they're messed with.
so zalgo is angry. for a long while, he's using animals to try and win back power. he'll infect deer, bears, even rabbits. it didn't really do anything . . those animals are also sick to O/S liquid, and the proxy cabin has pages all around it. zalgo couldn't get close to the proxies or proxy victims, so he couldnt infect humans.
until an infertile, desperate woman came to the forest. she was deluded, praying for a child, begging for anything. she planned to kill herself that night in the forest, but zalgo promised her a child. she left soon after, unaware that it worked. that was lazari's mother. but of course, once the woman left, zalgo couldn't go visit her. humans remained useless to him, but he realized that it wasn't ALL humans he couldn't get close to. just tainted ones.
then Lulu came along. she died in the forest after a hazing ritual that involved swimming in the forest's lake in freezing weather, later succumbing to hypothermia. the sorority girls, terrified of the consequences, buried her in the forest and ran off. so zalgo infected her corpse. but lulu was weak, docile, foggy - generally, a massive disappointment.
then Ann came along. she was dragged by a 'fan' who was obsessed with her redroom content and wanted to make his own, so he killed her in the abandoned hospital at the forest. kate killed the man, but zalgo infected ann's corpse very quickly. ann was a much better suitor, having already been a violent, disgusting person when she was alive - BUT she was also trapped in the hospital. it was a labyrinth to her, and while she tried to attack the proxies at first, she eventually realized it was futile and gave up. once again, a failure.
finally, his daughter returns to the forest - being dragged along by an older girl named Dina. Lazari bit Dina weeks prior, infecting Dina and ruining her life. so she wanted to kill Lazari as a sort of divine punishment, since they belonged to the same religious cult.
Lazari immediately kills Dina. Lazari runs to escape the forest, dripping in blood and grime and guilt and shame - and she is trapped by the fucking pages. While Lazari is away, Zalgo infects Dina's corpse. and oddly enough, Dina seems like a much stronger candidate. level headed, determined, angry.
AND THAT'S WHERE IM AT RIGHT NOW!!!
at this point in the story, the proxies are trying to figure out what to do with zalgo. while the operator seems to be getting weaker, zalgo is getting stronger - he has four girls running around the forest, and while 3/4 of them want nothing to do with him, he's still getting a better footing against the proxies. soooo... now they gotta deal with that!!!
TLDR;
zalgo was the 'ruler' of the forest until O/S woke up. now he wants power back, but slenderman's "vomit" acts as a salt circle that traps zalgo in and protects the proxies.
so, he begins infecting corpses in the area.
he can only infect corpses that died in the forest and were NOT killed by proxies. if they were even touched by the proxies, he can't infect it.

pls tell us about your take on spamano im on my hands and knees 🙏🧎
just dropped a long post homie <3 but im going to shove random headcanons at u now thanks for enabling my current hyperfixation. also sorry i accidentally posted this before it was ready so i had to take it down and fixed it teehee :3
• i feel like they'd get married on a yacht. i also love when they have a provincial lil life on a farm in the countryside but i just i have this vision of them in their tuxes on this classy ass boat over calm waters on a clear summer's day, popping prosecco with all their guests cheering and toasting them 🥺🥺
• when asked what his favourite part of one another is, toni would say some gay shit like "the way your eyes twinkle when you smirk" and lovi would just be like. "your ass"
• lovi is more uptight about cleanliness but he usually can't be arsed to actually do anything about it. toni can be forgetful and kinda messy, leaving the most random stuff out and making their house cluttered. aka they're both lazy. but they try to split chores pretty evenly and have scheduled cleaning days to make sure their space doesn't get out of hand. they put on their lil aprons and listen to music and always end up dancing 🥺🥺
• they're the couple who will call each other from across the entire house when they need something. toni puts on his sweet voice and lovi screams back at him.
• when antonio serenades lovino with his guitar and soulful singing voice it actually evokes tears in the man. this is not easy to do. we've seen lovino cry in canon but i actually think toni is a wayyy bigger crybaby.
• lovino is a cruel tease; antonio is a coy tease.
• their styles and sizes are pretty similar, so they share clothes often. lovino's fashion sense is slightly more polished, but he's also the kinda guy who sits around in his underwear. except on special occasions, antonio usually dresses more for comfort (think lots of linen and cotton) but of course he looks stunning in anything.
• so as a catholic i'm biased but i do view them (also north italy and france) as devout catholics. their home is covered in intimidating religious imagery. italians do not play when it comes to bleeding crucified jesus figurines.
• antonio is clingy and hates being apart from his husband for too long. they're not allowed (read: can't cope) to eat without one another. no matter how late it'll be after a long day, they need to sit down for a home cooked dinner together.

PILOT TALK TO ME ABOUT ZOMBIE SOULSUCKER PLS
HI LOVE OF MY LIFE i knew i could rely on u to be as Insane about this as me. putting it below the keep reading line because im about to unload the Directors Cut on you xo
SO a lot of people see soulsucker and starfucker to have a sort of angel/demon dynamic going on, and ive been eating that up because i looove the religious trauma angle this album is taking but then i was like What If st*r didn't align with typical religious imagery because... tbh that trope can get kind of bland.
him being brought back from the dead as a reference to clinging to the safety of the past and hesitance to accept/pursue change.. him being a character who is like the embodiment of everything awsten used to be and the parts of himself that havent changed even though the environment around him and the sound of his music have. st*r being dead makes him feel like he cant change no matter how badly he might want to. if he does something wrong, something that breaks the rules, he could literally physically fall apart. he doesnt know what's keeping him alive but he has to assume its some kind of godly power, because thats all he has as a frame of reference for life and death. but he's a creature that not even god can touch now. whether or not he realizes what that means for him, he knows that he can't go back to how he was, if he even knows what that would look like. he at the very least has the safety of already being dead- "if i'm already dead i can't be killed".
the important thing is that st*r is dead. or he should be. awsten can't figure out how to keep him dead, or re-kill him, or hide him away. no matter how badly he wants st*r gone, he doesn't seem to be going anywhere.
ok anyway heres design aspects that are Important To Me-
i gave him his scene-era haircut intentionally, i think it ads to his character representing his past self
upside down cross necklace because I Felt Like It
st*r's canon excessive layering is mostly to hide that he's dead and decaying
under his shirt his heart is exposed. im going to draw that next i think. theres a constant open wound over his heart- you can literally see directly into his heart :3
the places where his arms and fingers move a lot are the most prone to splitting- thats just a logistical design thing that i thought was cool it doesnt really Mean anything LOL
halo hair design. because of those rumors that he dyed his hair in a halo. unholy creature with holy traits etc etc
gave him that extremely hot and bad for me running/smudged eyeliner that has the little flecks of star glitter in them because It Looks Cool and theres Something there about having tiny stars under his eyes despite stars Not Being His Theme-Relevant Shape
the idea of him supergluing the edges of his gloves to his fingers to keep them from falling off while he performs popped into my head while i was drawing him and i thought you specifically would dig that concept. so.
soulsucker and st*r represent different ways awsten presents himself (i think- i kind of Dont Care about the lore that much ((i care So Much that was a lie)) and dont read other people's interpretations on it, but thats mine) so i think the idea of st*r trying desperately to hold himself together and fit the expectations/aesthetics of his job are kind of devastating from this angle, because he literally physically can't do it. whether its his own reluctance keeping him from doing it or some otherworldly/godly interference is up to interpretation methinks
more on its way i woke up like an hour ago and cant remember everything i wanted to say so sorry if none of this Matters or doesnt make any sense
#barking#thank u for asking im so excited about this idea#sorry for butchering the IP lore but also idc its Mine Now#edit i fixed it yay#also funniest part about me getting the names mixed up is that the file for the drawing on my computer is called strfckr#how did i do that LMAO#and the quote i snagged from a song is from the Right One so. idk!

do disregard this if you're uncomfortable with it but i'm really interested in your thoughts on christianity. and god.
man you sound like my grandma/j (she asked me that once and i got Scared)
ive always kinda been an atheist, raised that way, so all my thoughts come from an outsiders perspective. i think its interesting? which is honestly about how i feel about most religions. but its different with christianity, mostly because i dont feel bad disrespecting it? if yknow what i mean. not like too a person who is religious, but like. god why is the only thing im thinking about priest kink i swear i have more thoughts than that. but like. using christian and biblical imagery in a way that is. not religious. but kinda. yknow. gay or sad or horny or whatever. i think i am rambling because i do not have. too many thoughts.
anyway uh. god. i know i said ive always been an atheist but honestly im a lot more agnostic, i really dont know what or if there is anything like a god, and honestly. i dont exactly care? does that sound mean. idc whatever. its comforting to think that theres something after death but. most of the christian ideas of the afterlife sound kinda shitty honestly, even if i didnt go to hell for the many many reasons that ive been told i would lmao
#sorry for rambling uh#did i even say anything with this. who knows#fun pip fact my parents had to be very adamant to my grandparents that they werent getting me and my brother baptized. and they were NOT#happy lmao

I feel like you’re the only other person in the world who is as intrigued by the ethan/claire/jim dynamic as I am. It drives me crazy! I love that ethan, who is portrayed as a pretty flawless guy (he just cares TOO much) in the later movies gets this like crazy quirk of being in love with his father figure/boss’s wife and I love that you’re not always sure how much is manipulation and how much is genuine every time they interact. Severely underrated. Anyway loved the fic!
anon i am so so glad that you loved the fic and i am so glad to hear from another person fascinated by the ethan/claire/jim fuckery. (incidentally being a fellow ethan/claire/jim interested individual entitles you automatically to friend status should you so desire)
your ask touches on some things and it's giving me the urge to rant so please forgive me cause im probably about to get very off topic. I just love your point about the way that ethan (who is so steadfastly heroic in later movies!) starts out with this massive, like, to lean into the MI1 religious imagery, sin. And that sin isn't resolved in any satisfactory way--both of the people involved die, and no one is left alive who even knows what really happened, and this makes me feel rabid to think about. (Luther saw the cheek kiss, but has no context for it, and I feel strongly that Ethan has never told him anything else about that. I really think Ethan never breathes a word to anyone about Jim, Claire or Max. Kittridge is probably the closest to being able to infer some of the details, he knows Ethan loved Jim, he knows about Max's "entrapment," but he's too much of a self-absorbed bureaucrat to give a shit.)
But back to the point about the sin. For my money, Ethan's sin is the heart of MI1. The movie tells us that Ethan's sin is being in love with Claire--but in a queer reading of the movie, it's easy to read into Ethan's interactions with Claire and Jim and infer that his real sin is being in love with both of them, a sin that Jim will never openly acknowledge, but that all three of them are aware of to some degree. Ethan's sin is also portrayed as being...not actually his fault. He doesn't participate in any of Claire's "seduction moments," although from his expression after the cheek kiss IMO you can see that he has strong feelings about them. Ethan's sin is something that is done to him, and regardless of whether or not he wants it, regardless of whether initiates or even participates, he is corrupted by the experience. He's only (to some degree) cleansed by the death of claire, jim and krieger, the only people who knew about what happened.
(one of the reasons I drew from gawain and the green knight in the end of the fic is because--beyond the parallels of jim as the lord going hunting in the woods, claire as the lady going hunting for gawain, ethan as the knight just trying to make it out alive--that's a story that deals heavily in impossible moral tests and loss of agency. And Gawain emerges from it 'fey-touched', fundamentally changed despite the fact that most of what happened to him was unwanted and unavoidable. That's how i feel about ethan at the end of MI1)
It's important to note briefly that I actually don't think of the Claire/Jim/Ethan thing as his only sin in the movie. It's the only one that's remarked on directly, but the whole thing with Max feels like it's presented too similarly to ignore. It's another situation of power differences and emotional and sexual manipulation where Ethan is put in an impossible position and emerges morally corrupted (by the rules of the movie), but victorious.
In a lot of ways, I feel like the sin itself almost serves less as an indictment of Ethan and more as a worldbuilding device. MI1 establishes the world of the IMF really vividly without showing us hardly anything about it! we don't even know what the IMF is really, it doesn't have a headquarters, we don't get to know any other teams outside of the one that dies in the beginning, but the movie renders the world of the IMF through Ethan's relationship with Claire and Jim. I've talked before about the "sea of lies." The thing that made me love MI1 so much in the first place was the specific feeling that is so beautifully evoked, of gradually realizing that everyone you have ever loved wants to use you. That's the IMF! That's spywork, baby! Ethan doesn't realize it in the beginning, but he sure figures it out by the end. it's impossible for ethan to make it out of MI1 without becoming part of the corrupt world of the IMF, the real IMF that Claire and Jim and Kittridge are in, not the fantasy of the team in the opening. (to go back to the green knight metaphor--he has to take the sash in order to live--and even though that means compromising his morals, he's blameless. Corrupt, forever, but blameless.)
despite that--ethan is not the IMF. He believes in Claire. He believes in Luther. He avoids killing. he has an honor code that he sticks to even as he gets deeper and deeper into the sea of lies. that's what makes him the guy we see in the rest of the franchise, that at arguably his most vulnerable point, his most corrupt point, he believed in the people he loved and tried not to hurt anyone. The point of the sin, to me, is that Ethan is forced into the deep end of the murkiest grey moral waters and held underneath, and in the process he sacrifices moral purity for moral integrity and makes it out alive. and the movie doesn't hate him for it. He's a hero.
lots of thoughts for this ask lmfao thank you very much anon for indulging me. and thank you for reading the fic. i am so glad you liked it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How to manifest my physical changes without putting much effort please, im sick of slow subliminal results
I just want subliminal results, like others, but I still don't see the case, every time I listen to a week or 21 days as explained in the description in each youtube video, I don't see changes in my results, I tries to be patient/remove my obsession, but I can't stand normal family greetings, believe me fucks, its sucks being trying many attempts for almost year, i've used many resources to supposedly get subliminal results, I've read the solar subs guide, visualized, making own subs (1 or 2 subs) thinking to be positive, act like already get results, using boosters, flushes blockage removers, using loa techniques and researching more about subconscious and it has no effect on me, its like I am immune to subliminal audios for physical changes, or I don't have enough self-concept to be able to manifest what I want, tell me what I can do?,
Also they say that law of Asuncion neville Goddard and his gurus are very good(Like Sammy Ingram) , but who knows if it works every moment because when I use old subliminals for 3 months, I haven't noticed a change in my face body or even D₹ck", I currently use male beauty audios like fk subs viper kottie moza morph cherry subs curio Daniel m.f but who knows if they works, because I have honestly lost a lot of faith in my progress, And I don't want to do an ancestral religious ritual to have those simple changes, I hope someone else can answer me, because i'm fucking tired of repeating the same sh&t, I don't want to be slow results and believe in the subliminals and period
I’m using subliminals to manifest and they don’t seem to work, what do I do?
I understand your frustration and desire for quick and effortless results in manifesting physical changes. Let me share some guidance with you, keeping in mind the principles I have taught.
Firstly, it is important to remember that the power to manifest lies within you. While subliminal audios can be helpful tools, they are not the sole determining factor in your manifestation journey. The true power resides in your consciousness and your ability to believe in and embody your desired changes.
Instead of solely relying on external resources, I encourage you to focus on your inner state. Cultivate a strong self-concept and belief in your ability to manifest your desired physical changes. Affirmations, visualization, and mental imagery can be powerful techniques to feed your imagination.
Additionally, it is crucial to have unwavering faith in the techniques and methods you choose to follow. Doubt and skepticism can undermine the effectiveness of any approach. Choose a method that resonates with you and commit to it wholeheartedly. Trust in your imagination , even if you have not yet witnessed the desired changes. Remember, you have it in your imagination, why are you saying you don’t have it?
As for the various gurus and techniques you mentioned, it is important to approach them with discernment and find what works best for you. While many people have found success with different approaches, each individual's manifestation journey is unique. What matters most is your belief, conviction, and alignment with your desired changes.
Lastly, it is not necessary to resort to ancestral religious rituals or external rituals to manifest your desires. The power lies within you, and by harnessing your imagination and belief, you can create the changes you seek.
I urge you to remain patient, stay focused on your desired outcome, and trust in your ability to manifest your physical changes. Release any doubts or negative beliefs that may hinder your progress, and remember that you are the ultimate creator of your reality. Believe in your own power, persist in your chosen techniques, and let the manifestation unfold in its own divine timing.

POOKIE now that the album has been out for a while what are your fav songs????
me personnally i cant pick they all already mean sm to me😭😭
once i saw it was a DOUBLE ALBUM i decided to wait till i had enough time to listen in full so i will listen right now and pull a you and give live ratings! (skip to the bottom for an overall feeling)
fortnight 8/10 - this is so ex coded holy “i love you and it’s ruining my life” literally of her relationships at some point, wow. i will say that post is an interesting collab for this type of song but i don’t hate it
the tortured poets department 6/10 - i liked the bridge (i think that’s what it is) the best. lyrically it’s good but not my fave and saying that ab the title track i hope doesn’t get me yelled at by anyone
my boy only breaks his favorite toys 9/10 - i claimed this one from the tracklist so i knew i was gonna like it. the best she stays with as she sings the title is perfect for an edit
down bad 7.5/10 - i didn’t expect her to come out cussing at me, okay ms swift. not a skip but not a daily listen either. crying at the gym is relatable though
so long, london 8/10 - i used this as a fic title lol but the cadence really shows how angry/tired she was by the time they split. the lyrics here are so powerful too. her imagery is always so beautiful
but daddy i love him 6/10 - idk why but this just doesn’t resonate with me the way i thought it would. still good though but i wouldn’t save it turn it on from my own phone
fresh out the slammer 9/10- having that one person who is your immediate thought, the driving force behind you, your everything is all i want and that yearning keeps me up at night
florida!! 4/10- nothing about this song drew me in 🫣
guilty as sin? 8/10 - “i choose you and me religiously” so matt murdock coded
who’s afraid of little old me? 10/10 - SO ex coded and rep coded “i was gentle, i was tame till the circus life made me mean” or “you wouldn’t last an hour in the asylum where they raised me” TELL ME THAT ISNT OUR GIRL EXODUS
i can fix him (no really i can) 6.5/10 - me with every fictional man i come across the “ woah, maybe i can’t” at the end is crazy, basically agreeing that he was such a mess but i was hoping to like this one a little more
loml 9/10- joe put her through it, holy shit
i can do it with a broken heart 10/10 - immediately can tell she was writing about herself performing from another perspective and i love the juxtaposition of a pop-dance type beat with these tougher lyrics “i cry a lot but im so productive” is literally me
the smallest man who ever lived 7.8/10 - the title feels like the inverse of the “loudest woman this town has ever seen” lyric and to me, it really highlights got she was always this icon whereas he was always ducking and dodging and not willing to live in that spotlight with her
the alchemy 5/10 - i feel like the message of this song went right over my head
clara bow 6/10 - it’s a cute song that (i think) documents the growth of her career and maybe the comparisons/comments she gotten as she’s worked and how people compare new stars to her
the black dog 5/10- it doesn’t really resonate with me
imgonnagetyouback 8.5/10 - is this the one some people are saying is similar to get him back! by liv? bc the only similarity i hear is the concept of not knowing if you’re gonna rekindle or beat the shit out of your ex
the albatross 8.5/10 - it’s like she knows exodus and elektra. “she is here to destroy you” but i think this is another way of her reclaiming her image/reputation through acknowledging and challenging what men/media say about her
chloe or sam or sophia or marcus 8.8/10 - honestly idk what ab this song but it’s so beautiful. i can’t explain it but its like a ballroom dance
how did it end? 9/10 - this song gives the vibes of a movie scene where two people are on swings at the night and then suddenly, one swing is empty (but still going) and the other person is just teetering on their toes
so high school 5/10 - gives me early ts vibes and it’s cute but not really me
i hate it here 7/10- not my favorite but i do like the beat
thanK you aIMee 6/10 - this is directed at KIM or am i tripping? also the guitar reminds me of debut era for some reason
i look in peoples windows 7.5/10 - this song is yearning, wanting to see that person just one more time and its me wondering if i’ll see my ex again, just to know what’d happen if he saw me again after everything he’s said to me
the prophecy 9/10 - i really love the chorus
cassandra 5/10 - didn’t really stick out to me and became background noise 🫣
peter 7.8/10 - its really cute and ik it’s probably more of a peter pan reference but the editors need to get on it and do peter x mj
the bolter 8.7/10 - i was not reviled by anyone except my own father so (we’re better now though) but i do run from intimacy
robin 6/10 - slow, sweet, cute little song
the manuscript 9/10- instantly loved it (forgot what else i wanted to say here)
overall, is a lyrically beautiful album. there’s so much emotion in the music and her delivery. her imagery is so beautiful as always. personally, i won’t say i love it but it is so so impactful. releasing 31 songs in one project is unheard of so i tip my hat to her ability to tell these stories with such grace and eloquence through such a marathon of an album. i like that you can hear bits of her previous albums in some of the songs and it is a very mature project imo. you can tell how much this meant to her and how much of herself she’s poured out. its an overall ~7.8/10 for me but i would recommend everyone to give it a listen

The Tortured Poet's Department (Katie's Version)
basically i'm liveblogging this as i listen. talking into the void; this is more for me to reflect back onto than a genuine critique of the album.
Most excited for: "Florida!!!" "Down Bad" & "WALOL?"
I'm hoping that this album will sonically resemble folklore and evermore... more acoustic, stripped-back, and raw. I'm still wondering about the "✌️" imagery and how that'll play into the album... maybe feeling two-faced or double-crossed?
Fortnight (feat. Post Malone) - ok... rehab. uh oh. swifties have been calling her a drunk for a while... but nobody ever took it seriously. this must be about a rebound... i don't want to say MH. ugh i loooove how this sounds. like a more sober midnights. no pun intended... sorry. post malone was honestly such a genius move for this song- his voice sounds very youthful paired with hers... hopeful.
2. The Tortured Poets Department - YESSS 80's into!!! god i love this instrumental so far. (I use a typewriter!!!) holy fuck nooooo this has the charlie puth lyric. more wedding references.
3. My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys - ok. that charlie puth lyric left a bad taste in my mouth im trying to recover. i like that her vocal tone is a little darker here- would lower register apply for this? "he only runs because he loves me" real af i get you, queen. love that we've graduated to only having sandcastles instead of fortresses. these lyrics are also very ex-best-friend-coded... im projecting.
4. Down Bad - funkyyy okay. aww dun-dun-dun-dun! i wonder what mr kelce thought of all of this... oh, to be a fly on every single wall. yeah i like this one a lot. somehow also very 1989(tv ftv) coded. this sounds like denial into anger if we're still talking about the stages of grief. "like i lost my twin" is like "twin fire signs." i think she keeps seeing herself in her partners and feels abandoned when things don't work out.
5. So Long, London - ok intro eatssss down! this sounds like a driving-on-the-highway-song. i like how "talky" this is. it's very theatrical. this gives the sense that they (taylor and whoever this may be about) may have bonded over their sadness and the other party got upset when she started to heal. also, another reference to altars, but that may strictly be a religious metaphor.
6. But Daddy I Love Him - the intros are great. love the acoustic sounds. i really like this one a lot... this is a lot more whimsical and could almost fit on a Speak Now-style record. yeah, this is fantastic. such a quintessential Taylor Swift song. i'm terrified of how literally people (millennials on tiktok) are going to take this.
7. Fresh Out The Slammer - YUHHHH these intros!! ugh god i love a western motif. this is beautiful. this might be my favorite so far. i can't help but wonder what "time" she did. rehab, like previously alluded to? a rebound? a tortuous relationship? the period in a public career where one is constantly criticized and scrutinized? another ring mention.
8. Florida!!! (feat. Florence + The Machine) - huh. weed and babies. awesome! i agree, florida is one hell of a drug. "cheating husband..." uhokok. ok yes swamp imagery! yes southern/florida gothic! what shitstorm happened in texas? taylor please eliminate the urban sprawl in florida it'll give you more room to bury bodies!! pleaseee.
9. Guilty as Sin? - again. great intros. uh oh. is it just me, or does this sound like a 1975 song?? i like the production regardless. "we've already done it in my head" again real af. this song is real af. this is like limerence... these lyrics are kinda pushing the envelope, no? for taylor's standards, anyway.
10. Who's Afraid of Little Old Me? - another western-esque motif. we are scared of you taylor, i promise. contained scandal... oh? is this the cheating allegation??? this bridge was legitimately chilling. her reputation era was only a scratch on the surface. i think she needs a legitimate full-blown villain era (as a treat). i'm scared for track 13.
11. I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can) - moooore western motifs. yuh okay i like this one. more texas. what happened in texas? did anything happen in texas or is it just a placeholder? the vocals on this one are like velvet. "GOOD BOY"???? and the references to angels??? please. please. thank you, taylor.
12. loml - sigh. im not ready for this one. "better safe than starry-eyed" is a fabulous lyric. i can't wait to see that on fan merch everywhere. another reference to marriage. this is very reminiscent of "you're losing me." more rings and cradles. christ. loss of my life! loml.
13. I Can Do It With a Broken Heart - im not ready i dont think. the intro, again, is great. sounds like setting up the tour. i hope that this album was therapeutic for her. yesss i love this one actually. i love when artists do the sarcastic happy-sad trope. taylor, please know that 90% of the eras tour crowds was and is sympathetic; we were only cheering for you, not for what you do. yes key change! yes i love this one!
14. The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived - jehovah's witnesses mentioned. just wanting to know why is so incredibly valid and a universal truth, i think. this one left me with a pit in my stomach.
15. The Alchemy - chemicals... hospitals... i hope she writes an autobiography one day. touchdown! so this is a travis-era song? i like the sound design of this one.
16. Clara Bow - nooo im not ready. stevie nicks reference!! :) i don't think she's exactly regretting her fame, but certainly re-evaluating it here. we (media, society, swifties) need to leave her alone, please.
I hope that the creation of this album was cathartic for her; it feels intensely personal. I don't like speculating about her life, yet so many of these songs are extremely context-dependent. Most of all, I hope that she gets the healing she needs. She's such an important figure for so many people; more people want the best for her than don't. It's been very clear for a while that she's been suffering. Everyone breaks at some point... I keep seeing The Tower in my mind.

GOS2 opening title analysis
spoilers ig?? idk
AAAAA S2 CONTENT YIPEEE
so, again, this is gonna be long, rambling, and will prolly make 0 sense so stick with me here I'm feeling a lot of feelings. im gonna go thru each thing in as much depth as possible so buckle up, this is gonna be like twice the size of my poster + hillywood dissection.
OK THE WAY CROWLEY LITERALLY CRAWLED UP FROM HELL TO MEET W AZ IS LIKE :((( and like on their way out from the tunnel thing I saw like a figure with wings?? I reckon it might be Micheal (the angel not the sheen) but I'm not 100% sure. whoever it is, they're holding a box or smth?? so do with that what you will idk
Im pretty convinced we might be getting Moses stuff, cuz the shining light at the top of the hill? seems like mt siani (sianai? idk) and the fact we haven't seen that type of light before and Moses is supposesdly the only person to have a direct face-to-face interaction with god makes me think we'll be getting stuff from that era (catholic upbringing coming in handy for knowing this stuff) ALTHOUGH, there are lots of animals, and they seem to be like in pairs as well?? so maybe more Noah and the arc? which like MAYBE ALL THE FANFICS ABT THEM COMFORATING EACH OTHER ON THE ARC WILL COME TRUE??? YIPEE!!
ok everything bursting into flames is a lil random but after a while of thinking, maybe sodom and gamora? (idk how to spell that either) which like, MORE SANDALPHON?? Don't get me wrong, hate the guy, he's awful and creepy, but he's SUCH a good villain. the actor doesn't get enough props online for how well he plays him. sandalphon had like 3, maybe 4 mins of screen time in s1? and from that, he's become one of the most HATED characters in the entire fandom. That is just like, wow, well done, I hate the character you play, but that's because your acting is amazing. ANYWAYS, sodom and gamora. aziraphales gonna be having some *feelings* about that, because why would heaven hurt all those people? even if they were sinners? similar to noahs arc situation with Crowley giving the most comfort this time <3
WOOOO GOTHIC SHIT!! the pickled herring cart makes a return and it is as confusing as ever. they're in a graveyard, so that's fun times. maybe more hell? cuz that's where they met up when the antichrist got delivered. anyways, does anyone know the period this is meant to be in? it's gone out of my head. anyways, I tried looking up pickled herring carts to see if they had any significance thru history but na. like they were there, and popular, but no, no huge significance. ALSO, in the graveyard, they go past a gravestone with 'every day' written on it??? girl wtf does that mean?? the running theories I have so far are that it's either like, the death of the everyday, meaning that what they used to do (hate each other??) isnt.. happening anymore?? idk?? or that it's just Neil being edgy and emo. my bets on the latter (love u mr. gaiman <3) ALSO ALSO OH MY FUCKING GOD?? Another one of the gravestones says JANE AUSTEN ON IT!! ARE WE GETTING JANE AUSTEN CONTENT??? OMFG??? YIPPEE!! maybe we'll get to see where az gets some of his first editions from :D aslo rq, religious imagery in the background, an angel carrying a cross, more heaven looming over Az?? ALSO HOLY SHIT?? I just accidentally paused it at onde of the graves and i swear it says 'here lies *insert another couple words here* BEELZEBUB?? HUHHH?? is that gonna be the explination for beelzebubs new corparation?? but that wouldnt make any sense?? idk atp but that gravestone DEFFIENTLY SAYS BEELZEBUB
(if you think this is long pls know we're 22 seconds into a 1:44 video, i want lying when I said this was gonna be BEEFY)
SO. HELL. WOOO!! more hell content which could go one of three ways. either we get more goofy Crowley giving more presentations, CAN I GET A WAHOO?? or we get him being given more assignments and we get more of an idea of the whole structure of hell, uncomfortableness but nothing horrendous. OR ALL THE ANGST FICS COME TRUE AND WE SEE CROLWEY GETTING BEAT INTO A PULP BY HIS SUPERIORS!!! maybe all three! can't wait to see :D but as much as my angst-craving self would love to see the last one, I think the reality is it's gonna be the first two. it looks like there's a desk and office chairs, so we'll probably be getting scenes that are like the equivalent to what we see of aziraphale and the archangels in s1
so we already knew we were getting more ww2 scenes but.. MORE WW2 SCENES WAHOO!! maybe we're getting post-church scenes? tender love confessions in the back of the Bentley? or maybe angst? maybe edosian orchids 901s (I LOVE THEM SM) fic about Crowley having a breakdown after being forced to report on the horrors of war will come true? or maybe one of them has to conscript cuz... idk dude just cuz. The bomber plane makes me think of the blitz so maybe Crowley is comforting Azi while they hide from the bombs in the shop? whatever happens, ill love it :D
a quick google told me fuck all about the ladies of camelot, just that theyre often overshadowed by the guys. WHICH LIKE WTF?? anyways, apparently its like king arthur times, so maybe we see the arrangement being born?? YIPEE. other then that, they seem to be like a dance group? so like, idk? could be suppourting acts maybe? could the merlin fandom help with this maybe? whats goin on with the ladies of Camelot my dudes.
MAGIC AZIRAPHLE MAGIC AZIRPAHLE MAIGIC AHVDSAKJ YAY!! I love the idea of aziraphale pulling a snake from his hat as part of the act and Crowley pretending to be pissed but internally freaking the fuck out because 'HOLY SHIT HES HOLDING ME HES HOLDING ME HES SO SOFT WHAT THE FUCK'
I HAVE. SO MANY. THOUGHTS. ON. SPACE. SO, SO HEAR ME OUT RIGHT, SO, the only time space has been mentioned really is when Crowley was talking abt how he made certain planets and the Alpha Centauri stuff. SO MAYBE WE'LL BE GETTING SOME PRE-FALL CROWLEY?? cuz like, the only thing close to space is heaven, but that's meant to be transcendent, and by definition exists outside of space and time. SO THEREFORE, PRE-FALL CROWLEY?? PLEASE?? NEIL IM BEGGING, IM ON MY KNEES, PLEASE!!
the... the hearts.. the love hearts.. the.. the hearts falling from the sky when they.. when the.. when... DNCBKHFVYEWIQUKLDWHJNX I'm feeling such normal feelings rn haha. anyways they're in love and :D the way they're sat on the roof together as well? like aw :( the jukebox and the vinyls (are those vinyls?) make me think more 60's content? and the Bentley as well? friendly reminder that Crowley goes too fast for him!! maybe we'll see him drinking himself into oblivion after he gets brutally rejected by Az :D oo or maybe him contemplating offing himself with the holy water! or maybe more lighthearted stuff, like the discovery of the queen curse :)
(also OO ninas shop!)
the lifts make me think more heaven content, which we knew was happening anyway but I'm thinking more Az giving reports and getting verbally abused and humiliated :D also, the steam makes me think industrial revolution for some reason? idk tho
THE ARRIVAL. is that the title for ep 1? Probably. but on the posters there's like a locked box? (getting fnaf 4 flashbacks) i've no clue what that means, like at all. but its prolly smth!
and thats it! this will probably be updated and edited, but these are all my thoughts as of the day it was released.
if you read this, there must be smth wrong with you mentally, but me too, me too. give me any thoughts you might have, ill be really interested to hear them! (these guys have consumed my brain)
friendly reminder that it'll be quiet, gentle, and romantic. and they like holding hands!

it’s wild to me how up in arms evangelical christians get about ‘demonic’ and ‘satanic’ imagery, especially in music. like they lose their shit if an artist uses any dark imagery in a video or a performance or something…i though we left the satanic panic in the 90s but i think the internet has allowed a lot of paranoid people with religious delusions talk to each other too much.
also satanism seems like really old hat to me and isn’t that interesting of an artistic idea/schtick most of the time. but i have to recognize im also way more desensitized to horror/gore/satanism than the average person considering i spent my late teens watching every horror movie i could pirate, looping marilyn manson videos, looking at gore sites, playing with ouija boards, hanging around cemeteries, and reading anton lavey and aleister crowley and any similar demonic/satanic literature i could get my hands on. so my baseline is a little fucked but you get my point.

ok ok but actually i want to know ur thoughts on the en titles like even with my limited understanding of japanese im????? on half these titles and worse i gotta memorize them bc youtube forces u to read them that way. nooo its not testament its kyuuyaku hankagai nooo its not blade its shuuen touhikou....
okay i actually have my yt set to jpn so all i see of the eng titles is actually second hand but from what i know
last i checked aru sekai shoushitsu was left untranslated. i dont know how i feel about that.
problem for me starts with kyuuyaku hankagai. kyuuyaku IS old testament yes thats where the eng testament comes from. hankagai is actually a bit of word play on magus part bc there IS a word hankagai meaning like a business district or busy downtown area but the hanka magu uses in the title is actually for scientific generalizations with the suffix of town at the end. so u end up with something like town of the old testament's generalizations which. right away u can see how much extra context ur getting from that alone. reducing it to JUST testament leaves out a lot of detail & makes it more open to interpretation. if i didnt know the og title id see testament & go "oh its called testament bc its a testament of her will to work so hard and go thru all this horror time after time after time" but thats not it. look im not a religious person at all but it goes beyond word choice here the opening text is reminiscent (at the very least) of dante's inferno, 2 songs later we get more church imagery & a whole angel, this isnt a one time thing its also a part of the story & to leave it as just testament makes it so easy to ignore or overlook that part. and then there's the fact its one of the songs tied directly to a certain world's disappearance. disappearance has its main lines distributed under specific headers of sorts, each being a single 2 syllable kanji. the first of which is kyuu which is literally "past". translating both to reflect this in eng is. difficult esp when it gets to other songs but even if u leave it as old testament the "old" is Still There & its a lot more possible to catch onto the connection (hard maybe but not impossible)
shuuen touhikou makes me need to talk a walk and im not joking. fucking "blade" sounds like ur trying to appeal to edgy middle schoolers. aside from that when i hear blade im thinking its going to be a fighting song - maybe not a physical fight, but theres going to be conflict- and yes! there IS conflict in this song! its not what i would expect from seeing blade tho! she is fighting & yes the lyrics are like. using her sword to try and forge her own path out when the others let her down, but blade makes it seem like idk some noble fight or something. but u read demise escape & u KNOW shit's serious. it IS a fight but its that kind of "god i dont want to die like this" type of primal fight and not some cool miku swordfighting action. this girl's been told to sit tight and it will work out & she knows thats wrong & the only thing left is for her try whatever she can so that maybe MAYBE she can make it out alive. demise escape as a title hits the type of fear & heaviness thats in the series and gets across and entirely different picture than what blade could ever do. and. again. as one of the main songs blade completely lacks anyway to tie back to the og song. the lines in shoushitsu are shuu which becomes the shuu in shuuen. end & demise are harder to accurately translate in both songs so even with the more accurate eng title its not that easy to tie back into shoushitsu but like. at the very least u can add it as a fun fact or something somewhere.
oumen mokushiroku i just have to sit here & accept that it actually works much to my own dissatisfaction. the direct translation is concave revelation BUT mokushiroku is part of the lyrics in shoushitsu & it has an alternate reading of being pronounced "apocalypse" so a series accurate title here is concave apocalypse & concave is for the most part just tying back to the ou/concave lines in shoushitsu. for as much as i think about this song i actually dont have anything deep to say about the concave part of the title beyond that so like. fine. reduce it to just apocalypse fine whatever i hate it but [throws my hands up] u win this time magu
unplanned apoptosis is accurate the only problem is in jpn u can catch the a-a alliteration in the title but thats not a problem with the translation thats a problem with the english language itself. the alliteration thing is in fact series context btw it keeps in with that repeating fractal theme they emphasized in shoushitsu and kyuuyaku. same with marshall maximizer but there u can actually see it. kanons fine.
kugutsu ashura is. hm. im nitpicking here. literally its puppet ashura. this isnt connected to a shoushitsu heading so ur not losing anything in that regard. however. from what ive been told about ashura (thank u my friend emimin) they arent very.... in control of things. per se. so when u compound that with puppet in the title it just really drives home what she's doing is not her own will. she cannot affect anything beyond how shes supposed to (i guess thats an okay way of putting it) which saying this is also why the motif isnt in this song either but thats off topic. ashura by itself doesnt bother me as much as the others but theres just that little extra context u get from knowing the first part is puppet that adds to it from a series standpoint.
laboratory is fine the only thing is in jpn it has the separation (labo-ratory) so its obvious its on of the songs with the alliteration theme going on. more of a fun fact than actually being wrong. its fine.
as far as i know yamete kudasai and kannagi dont have the official eng titles?? even if they did idk what to say about them bc these titles are already weird from a series standpoint anyway. they dont fit into the 5 kanji title songs category they dont fit into the alliteration category theyre just kind of here. if there IS thematic importance to them we're only going to know when more songs get posted. they dont have any keywords or kanji that tie into any other specific song either. theyre just here.
#asks#kuki#aru sekai series#THANK U FOR ENABLING ME#no one gets into the series anyway so im just insane about this for no reason really#there is a fan theory some of the side songs are trying to spell out amakakeru fractal with with syllable is alliterated#but that may or may not be disproven at this point. since both kanon and kannagi would be ka#and the ya from yamete kudasai is just not there at all#or maybe thats JUST STRICTLY for alliteration songs. cant tell at this point#anyway that would be impossible to know for eng only speakers so its not much point to know here

Alright, holidays are over and Im regularly taking the bus again so its time to read A Court of Mist and Fury. I've made through the prologue and the first three chapters and I feel like I already have a lot of thoughts so Im splitting them into two posts. This one is just gonna be random silly bullshit that I wanted to mention but dont have any deep thoughts on, the next one is gonna be my thoughts about the character development that happened between the books
why does Sarah J Maas always seem to use the vaguely pagan (?) moon and moon cycle imagery when theres like, an all-woman religious institution in her books. Like, Ianthe has that tattoo on her forehead and shes dressed in blue robes and wears a lot of silver and it reminded me of that one random aside in Crescent City where we hear about those priestesses that worship the goddess Luna, like with the robes and headbands and stuff, when theyre first initiated they get a headband with a waxing crescent moon, then when theyre at their peak they get one with a full moon and when they get older they get one with a waning crescent. Like, obviously I know that the moon is associated with with witchcraft and feminine magic and whatnot so it makes sense in a doylist sense, but like, whats the in-universe explanation
You know what, maybe I do have deep thoughts about some of this stuff, what the hell is up with the High Priestesses? Theres twelve of them ?? for some reason?? Theyre said to be the advisors of the high lords on top of their religious duties, so if there were gonna be more than seven, I would think there would be 14, two for each court. But they actually appear to be wholly seperate, like they just dont belong to any particular court. And thats weird to me, but Prythian is technically one united kingdom (get it, cuz the map looks like fucking great britain for some reason) despite some of their inter-court tension so maybe that makes sense. But then WHY do they have such a Night Court-core aesthetic, wearing dark blue (night sky) and silver (stars) with tattoos. If they were an institution thats completely seperate from the courts, I feel like they should use imagery/an aesthetic thats not already kinda taken by another court. Like, idk, rainbows maybe, thats the only thing I can think of rn and it could also make them a symbol of Prythian's unity or something
This is only tangentially related, but how come the Night Court doesnt seem to have any moon imagery associated with it? I say seem to because I havent actually seen it yet, but from the fanart and from what I can remember from cari can read's summary, its all stars and darkness and dreams but not the moon??? which is the thing I personally associate most with night but okay
I was not expecting a sex scene in the first three chapters and I was especially not expecting Feyre to describe her having an orgasm as "I passed away". Granted, that might just be the german translation being weird, I dont have access to the original english but still. Then again, I guess they dont call it the little death for nothing
Speaking of the sex scene, I thought the people saying this were joking but no, she was literally asking him about the political implications of their marriage on some random ass night while they were getting it on, thats hilarious. And then she got TURNED OFF when Tamlin told her there werent any high ladies this series shouldve been a comedy
Last thing I wanted to mention is the use of the formal and informal yous in the translation, which is still really good. As a reminder, du/dir = informal you; Sie/Ihnen = formal you; Euch/Ihren = the most formal you, usually reserved for nobility. Feyre used Euch/Ihren for all the high fae in the first book (atleast for the first half, I havent really kept track of the pronoun usuage), Tamlin and Lucien used du/dir for Feyre, Alis used Euch/Ihren for Feyre. In this book, all the servants still refer to her by Euch/Ihren but Feyre, Tamlin and Lucien are all on a du/dir basis with each other now. Also, Feyre uses Euch/Ihren for Ianthe and honestly, that alone says so much about how important she is within the court, I feel like I didnt even need an explanation of what exactly she does, but this book was written in english qhere they dont have that so I get it

BRIEF TWO- DISRUPT
Artist research- Damien Hirst
Honestly I was never a huge fan of this artist, as I thought his work was superficial and for shock value only. It didnt seem like much thought went into meaning, particularily with his paintings. From the few pieces I saw online a few years ago, he was not an artist I liked.
However for the sake of research I decided to give his work another try, and I was quite surprised at my new opinion of his art when looking it a second time with older eyes.
"Mother and child divided"
In its reference to a mother and child, this piece represents one of the oldest icons of Western Christian art – the portrait of the Holy Mother and jesus. Hirst attended a Catholic school so the iconography is familiar to him, as he has commented: ‘I have a lot of strong memories of religious imagery. We had a big illustrated bible and when I was young I would go straight to the crucifixion or severed head pages.’
Instead of the joyful unity of mother and baby, which the traditional image celebrates, this piece presents a mother and child not only forever separated from one another, but also fatally severed in themselves. The impossibility of achieving or retaining an idealised (lost) unity is a theme dealt with extensively in Damiens work. Another example of this is his work titled "Loves Paradox" in which two tanks, each containing the severed forequarters of a cow, are displayed side by side with some distance however. This work is a development of this theme of lost unity.
"Loves Paradox"
For Hirst, the dismembering and skinning of animals is about giving people the possibility to look at them in a new way. In his words, cutting up cows and sheep is;
"like creating emotions scientifically. What do you do if an animal is symmetrical? You cut it in half, and you can see what’s on the inside and outside simultaneously. It’s beautiful. The only problem is that it’s dead ... In a way, you understand more about living people by dealing with dead people. It’s sad but you feel more ... a viewer should be intrigued. The work should attract you and repel you at the same time ... cows are the most slaughtered animals ever ... I see them as death objects. Walking food ... What’s sad is that if you look at my cows cut up in formaldehyde, they have more personality than any cows walking about in fields."
"A promise of money"
As a vegetarian Im not sure how I feel about the ethics of his work, as he uses real animals. However it is undeniable that his work is thought provoking. While he might have religious interpritations of his work, when looking at it as somebody against the meat industry, it takes on a whole new meaning. "Mother and child divided" particularily speaks to me. To me, it represents the calfs that are ripped away from their mothers everyday.
I used to think Damien Hirsts work was superficial, but looking at it again I can see so much meaning and beauty that has gone into each peice.
