To whoever sent the anonymous message (I changed my settings and it deleted before I had a chance to respond)--

I wanted to apologize. It is never, ever, EVER my intention to hurt anyone. When I posted those tags on the shower poll, it was in jest. I was joking around and wasn’t even considering disabled/chronically ill people who can’t shower alone or frequently when I said that people who don’t are the “stinky friend.”

Which is ignorant and hurtful. I know disabled/chronically ill people exist, and when I made that comment I wasn’t thinking of those communities, I was thinking of able bodied people and that’s a part of the problem. 

I was a part of the problem today, and I know better. 

It’s our job to hold space for all disenfranchised people, PERIOD, and I didn’t mean to hurt anyone's feelings. So for that, I apologize.

My best friend and roommate is disabled and through my love for him I’ve learned so much about how this society hides and downright neglects people who have disabilities, and I don’t want to contribute to that trend.

I want my page be a safe, fun, and happy place for everyone. I want to hold space for everyone. I myself am autistic, black, and queer, so I sympathize with the marginalization that disabled people face at the hands of the dominant culture and while I’ll never understand what it feels like to operate in this world as a disabled person, I want to stand as an ally.

So, I’m sorry! And thank you for bringing it to my attention. My response to the shower poll has been deleted. I know that doesn’t fix the feelings I hurt today, but I hope it’s a step in the right direction.

There is no source of income for the family at the present time, so we are unable to buy food, clean water, and medicine, especially after we are afflicted with the ongoing infectious diseases spread in the north like Hepatitis C disease.

Our house has been damaged a lot since the beginning of the war. We are from the north of Gaza and we are still in the north and have not displaced to the south. We displaced 10 times from place to another seeking to safety .
