This tweet ^^ reminded me of that one Shinyduo chat on Pearl's stream the other week (3/22? after tcg) where they discuss which MCYT (in their circle) is "the most normal" and float several inc. Pixlriffs, but inevitably conclude "all MCYT are a little weird in our own way." Because such is the nature of being an eccentric marketable CC -- and also just a human being.

At one point they mentioned "those of us who RP are a little weirder" and didn't fully elaborate? Which is so interesting? Like using their example Pixlriffs is a major member of Empires SMP -- a famously RP centric server and mocked for valuing lore within the HC9 crossover. Who do shinyduo think isn't a RPer? Bc most Hermits are Life Series (also RP) and those who aren't still dabble enough to have entire alter egos -- look me in the eyes and tell me DocM77 doesn't RP.

Or maybe they meant CC's who don't RP as the major appeal/part of their content, but even then? Xisuma has a long running evil alter ego, Jevin is prone to eccentric extended character bits, you can justify every Hermit/Empires/Traffic/etc. member as an RPer. Maybe I just don't watch the MCYTs they were thinking of. Most of the other CC's I've seen shinyduo interact w (this past year at least) are equally if not more dramatic: the Misadventures cast and Pearl's variety game crew and so on.

I'm so curious -- where are they drawing the line between who RPs and who doesn't? Is the implication how much the CC identifies as a roleplayer? Internalized roleplay-phobia? Fascinating.

OH I’m not sure if there’s limits on search tags for your blog but I’m surprised that coming undone wasn’t on there, that fic is like an infant in a cradle and I am the six year old rocking them for an hour in sheer fascination. I like the part where Donnie is squished like a bug for 37k words
