Doctor's Note - Sodapop Curtis x Reader
summary: you stand soda up, accidentally
contents/warnings: soda is somewhere around 18-19, mentions of his failed relationship w sandy, distrust/miscommunication, angst -> fluff. based on my very painful experience this morning with crippling back pain
send me requests for the outsiders!
Selfishly, sometimes you wonder what it would have been like to date Sodapop before he'd met Sandy. When he was more carefree, when he wasn't glancing at any man you talked to just a second too long. He's not possessive- and even if he is, he doesn't enforce it. But you know he's wary, and you know it's her fault.
Darrel had warned Soda to stay away from girls for a while, to give himself a break. And he had. Two long years later his hiatus was broken when you'd come into the DX fiending for a coke, and when you'd asked, 'Do you know where I could find a soda 'round here?' his eyes had glimmered with opportunity, and he'd pointed proudly to his nametag.
"Right here, ma'am. No caffeine in me but I could keep 'ya up all night if you want me to."
It had been so wildly crass, so insanely audacious that you'd burst out laughing, both from the absurdity of his name and the brashness of his comment. He'd apologized for it, too, twenty minutes into your conversation that lasted an hour.
"I didn't mean what I said earlier. I mean- I don't usually come on strong like that. Couldn't stop myself- prolly got it from my friend Two-Bit, he's always crackin' jokes like that. Hope you didn't think it was greasy."
"I think it was very greasy," You'd laughed, tilting your chin towards the tin of hair grease abandoned at the other end of the counter, "I thought that was the whole point."
"That's my buddy Steve's", Soda had told you, light dancing in his eyes as he readjusted his elbows on the counter to lean further towards you, "He does these real fancy swirls in his hair, and I've been able to do 'em a few times, but mainly I just slick mine back, and half the time I don't even grease it anyways because I'm just bummin' round the house so there's no need. My other friend-"
He was a natural-born talker, and you'd been just as caught up with talking yourself as you were with listening to him. It had taken the reappearance of his aforementioned coworker, Steve, for you to glance at the clock, and realize that you were 40 minutes past the time you should have been back at work from your lunch break.
You're surprised you hadn't scared Sodapop off with your swearing alone, but you'd managed to scribble your number onto his hand before you'd left. You hadn't even remembered to buy a drink, but he'd brought you one when he showed up for your first date.
Now, three weeks later, you're getting ready to show up to his house. This is a big thing: you're meeting his brothers. He's told you so much about them you feel like you know them, and he's also given you your fair share of warnings, too. Darry's too stern sometimes, and it might take a while for him to warm up to you. Ponyboy's an awkward teen, and on top of it, he'd trusted Sandy- they all had. You know you've gotta prove yourself better than her, and you're starting with some sweet perfume and a bundle of flowers for their dining table.
--
"Get your bum ass off the couch and vacuum," Soda's hands shove roughly at Ponyboy's thighs, "She's gonna be here in thirty minutes!"
"Jeez, Soda, she's not my girlfriend," Ponyboy grumbles, but he stands and heads for the closet where the vacuum lies all the same, "Don't understand why I have to be the one cleanin'."
"'Cause Darry's the one cookin'." Soda glares at him, "And I'm cleaning too. I've been cleaning for days."
"Bathroom looks good, little man." Darry voices his approval from the kitchen, "Thought I was gonna die of shock when I realized you'd scrubbed down the toilet."
Not much conversation is heard over Ponyboy's aggressive vacuuming, but Soda calls the cleaning at five minutes to your arrival time.
"Okay. Rules again?" He looks expectantly at his brothers, and Darry looks irritated that he's being grilled this time.
"No judging." Ponyboy grumbles, but he doesn't think it's fair, because Sandy had seemed so nice and sweet, and she'd run right out on Sodapop. So he feels like he has to judge, because maybe Soda's gonna get hurt again. He doesn't want that.
"No grilling." Darry continues, equally put-out by Soda's request. He wants what's best for his brother. Sodapop's two-year long relationship drought was refreshing, and he's seen the boy blossom into a wonderful man. Still, he can't help feeling some lingering resentment towards Sandy, and he knows it's not fair to attach it to you, but he doesn't know what else to do with it.
"And no arguing at the table." He glances between Darry and Pony both warily, "I mean it, this isn't the night to discuss grades or curfew or chores. Just- be nice to her. Treat her like a real guest."
"Alright, little buddy." Darry secedes, squeezing Soda's flannel-clad shoulder slightly, "Now, you gonna go wait by the door for her?"
"No! I'm not that desperate." Soda scoffs, but Darry notices the way he flops down into his eldest brother's armchair, the only seat in the house with a view of the front walkway. Ponyboy settles himself awkwardly on the couch, watching cartoons even though there's an anxious tension in his skinny shoulders.
You're set to arrive in two minutes, and Soda's practically vibrating out of his seat. There's no sign of the cute little sundress you said you'd wear today, but that's okay, because he thinks it's so considerate of you to show up punctually versus early. if you'd come fifteen minutes earlier you would have seen him near-tears over the spot of chocolate that wouldn't rub out of the wall behind the television. Ponyboy had pointed out that there's no way you would have seen it unless you'd been wedged between their tv and the wall, but Soda was not going to invite you into a messy home.
One minute goes by, and Soda's cuticles hurt from where his nails tear at them. He tries to stop himself- after all, you wouldn't want to hold his hand if his was bleeding. But his next nervous habit becomes fiddling with the hem of his shirt, which isn't nearly as satisfying for his fingers.
He waits for what he's sure is more than a minute, which means you're due to flounce up the stairs in seconds. But he doesn't see you, and he knows Pony's watching him crane his neck every three seconds to look for you. So he tones it down- after all, he's got a 10-minute grace period at the DX for his shifts. If he can clock in at 8:10 and still be 'on time', you can show up a few minutes late.
"Any sign of her?" Darry pokes his head out of the kitchen, seeing the front door still shut. Soda shakes his head- then he catches a glimpse of your hair color outside the window. Upon further inspection, it's a stray cat. Ponyboy snorts at him, and Soda sinks back into the recliner.
Okay, so you've used up your grace period. But Soda gets it- you probably sang one too many love songs about him in the shower, and now you're tripping over your own feet trying to run to his house. Or the bus was late, or you missed it entirely, and you'll show up before the food goes cold.
Fifteen minutes go by, and Darry hovers over the finished meal, wondering whether he should plate it or not.
Twenty minutes go by, and Darry considers removing one plate from the table.
Thirty minutes go by, and Darry turns off the stove.
An hour goes by, and Pony retreats to his room for some homework time. Darry's meticulously cleaning the kitchen, but Sodapop thinks it's more because he doesn't know what to say than because he thinks you'll judge them for a grease stain on the wall.
When Darry's scrubbed the kitchen raw nearly an hour later, he pads softly over to Soda where he still rests in his armchair.
"Soda, I- listen, I don't think she's comin' tonight."
"I told her today." Soda's got his fingernail pinched between his teeth, his leg having long-since stopped its nervous bouncing, "I- I know I told her tonight, and she said she'd be here, but I-"
Darry's hand squeezes his shoulder again, this time tighter, and something awfully familiar resurges in Soda's chest where it's laid dormant for two years.
"C'mon, little buddy." Darry urges him up out of the chair, "Let's turn in early tonight."
--
Soda's not doing his best work despite having gotten eleven hours of sleep the night prior. He's sluggish and mopey, and Steve sticks him on the register so that no one risks a foolish mistake to their car. Soda stares at a knot in the wood grain, chewing on the inside of his cheek, and doesn't look up even when the entrance bell dings.
"Soda-" He hears a voice, one that he'd been waiting since last evening to hear, one that exacerbates that sickly feeling in his chest. He hasn't been able to shake it, and your face had blended with Sandy's in his nightmares last night.
"Soda, I'm- I'm so sorry."
"Why didn't you show?" He barely has the courage to look up at you, but he does, because last time he'd groveled. He'd begged, pleaded, bargained with her to stay with him, and he wasn't going to do that this time. He was going to be the man Darry wanted him to be.
"I'm sorry." You repeat, clutching a paper in your hands, brows permanently furrowed, "It was an emergency. I was getting ready, and- and all of a sudden my back started hurtin'. Real bad, Soda, I- I had to lie down on the ground."
Soda watches, interest piqued, as you stagger towards the counter, clearly limping. Sickness is replaced with worry in his chest, and he watches as you brace yourself against the register.
"My folks didn't get home for hours. I was just laying there, I- I couldn't reach the phone, I couldn't move my legs, I was just stranded there." Your voice thickens at the memory, and you sniffle absentmindedly, "Soda, I would have called you, I just- I couldn't move. I swear. I tried, Soda, I swear I tried to get to the phone, but it was so painful. And then when my parents got home they had to carry me to the car 'n all, and the emergency room took forever, and- and we didn't get home until three in the morning, and I knew you'd be sleepin' so I didn't call, and I felt so bad because I knew you'd be waiting on me, and- and I'm so sorry, Sodapop."
All at once yours and Sandy's faces come undone in his mind, and hers is cast aside as he studies yours. There's tears, big shiny ones lining your eyes, and your chin trembles slightly. You're still clutching the paper, and when you realize he's glancing at it, you gasp.
"Oh! I- um, I got you a doctor's note. I didn't want you to think I was lyin'."
You push the page towards him on the counter, and he takes it with trembling hands.
'Patient Y/N Y/L/N admitted to emergency services at 8:49 PM Wednesday, 30th July. Diagnosed with severe lumbar muscle strain. This patient is placed off of work from 7/30/1968 through 8/05/1968.
Patient would like to add that she did not intend to stand up her date with one Sodapop Patrick Curtis on Wednesday, 30th July. Patient would like to reschedule for another night. Doctor prescribes a calm, laid-back dinner date until patient recovers.'
"Had one hell of a time trying to get him to put that in there." Your sheepish voice pipes up from where Soda's reading the last words on the page, "But I told him you were a nice boy and he said there's not many of those around here. I'm sorry, again. I'm so sorry."
Lumbar muscle strain rings a bell in Soda's head. It's something Darry's definitely mentioned before, the few times they've bullied him into seeking medical attention for all of his blue collar aches and pains. He's sure if you're hurting the way Darry does sometimes, that you weren't lying about not being able to move.
You're staring at him like you're worried he'll send you away, and the piece of paper in his hands is the only thing stopping him from doing just that. But he glances down at it again, and takes a deep breath.
"It's okay. I believe you. My brother Darry, he- he pulls muscles sometimes. Don't usually see him cry, but I do when that happens. Are you okay?'
You visibly relax at his words, but something in your back must have protested the movement, because your face pinches up again.
"Um- yeah. Mostly. It hurts when I move too much." You admit, "But I had to make it down here to see you. I'm so sorry. Were you- were you angry at me?"
He doesn't think so- he was offended, he was disappointed, but most of all, he's pretty sure he was beating up on himself more than he was beating up on you. It felt like it did the first time, and he was the common denominator in both.
"No." He answers honestly, "But- uh, I think Darry probably is."
You wince, and he doesn't blame you. But he holds the note a little tighter, "But I'll tell him what happened. Like I said, he knows what that feels like. Don't worry about it, honey. You- uh, did you want to still meet them?"
"Of course! Of course," You nod eagerly, bracing your weight against the counter, "Do you still... want me to meet them?"
"Of course." He echoes, finally breaking his stoicism with a grin, a shy one as he reaches for your hand over the counter, still clutching the note in his other hand, "Can't argue with the doctor's orders."

Breaking The Rules
Five x Plus Size Female Reader, Words: 8,159, One-shot
Warnings: Smut, slight Daddy kink
So I received a very lovely request from someone I won't name, but they asked for something very specific:
"There aren't that many Five x plus size reader fics, And I think that should be changed"
I immediately jumped on this idea, because yes, this does need to change. Body representation is very important. I fully admit that I normally write Five with petite women, and that's usually because he's not a huge guy himself, so I tend to make them smaller. That's kind of the standard formula I suppose: bigger guy, smaller girl? But it doesn't have to always be that way. Everyone should be represented in a positive way.
Anyway, I have tried my best to fulfill this request and hopefully I do it justice. 😽❤️☂️
You had just been transferred from Records to Case Management. It was a pretty big promotion, but you had worked hard for it and deserved it. You were excited to be out of the stuffy records room and into the main population of employees since you were by nature a very social person. At one point you had thought about training for an agent position, but decided against it. Even though that’s really what you dreamed of doing. Instead, you figured vying for an executive position would be the best route, but that would take a few more years in the machine.
Part of your job was taking the data that you put together and assigning a particular agent to the case. You were good at solving puzzles, which is why you were put in this department to begin with, but you were also very good at reading people. You loved getting to know new people and their personalities, and what made them tick. People in general were fascinating to you, and the Commission had plenty of personalities.
As usual, you had no problem fitting in with your new coworkers. You had some sort of energy or charisma that drew others in. Maybe it was your infectious laugh, or your inappropriate sense of humor. Or just that way that you had of putting everyone around you at ease. Whatever it was, it was a source of pride for you. You liked being the one people gravitated to.
There was one person that did not seem as smitten with you as everyone else, and that was Number Five Hargreeves. You knew of him, of course. Everyone did. He was a legend among legends and there was a reason for that. You hadn’t been there the first time around, when he was fresh out of the Apocalypse, but when he came back years later as a younger version of himself, it was all anyone could talk about.
Five had a reputation for being aloof and if you caught him on the wrong day, he’d cut you down with some biting insult that was just as powerful as any physical harm he could do. He was smart, agile, and brutally honest. He was also hot as hell.
There seemed to be no end to the line of women that would purposefully parade past him on a daily basis. You couldn’t blame them, though. You’d caught yourself staring a few times, as you watched him read over a file with that serious expression of his, before he nodded a curt thank you and disappeared in a flash of blue. But you weren’t really that interested in him and you knew for a fact that he didn’t date inside the office. You admired that about him, actually, because neither did you.
Just because he wasn’t sleeping around the Commission, however, didn’t mean he wasn’t getting some action elsewhere. When you work for an organization that can see anything and everyone across all timelines and at any point in time…well, rumors are bound to start spreading. And you had heard a lot of them.
As with all rumors, it was hard to determine how much of it was true, but you could at least believe what you heard about his usual taste in women. Petite, thin, perky boobs, a flat stomach, and a small, tight ass. The guys at the switchboard loved to give descriptions of Five’s latest conquests, and they all sounded about the same. But hey, good for him, everyone has a type.
So, even if you were somehow interested in him from a romantic standpoint, you wouldn’t have made the cut anyway. You didn’t fit that stereotypical mold of those other women with your wide hips, slightly bigger breasts and butt, and a stomach that had never been flat. You doubted his usual dates had stretch marks on their thighs and hips, or even a small amount of cellulite on their ass. Not that you cared. Everyone’s bodies were different, after all.
Being a bigger sized woman didn’t bother you. You were confident in your body and made no apologies about it. Just because you couldn’t fit into the size negative two jeans that were constantly shoved in your face on every clothing store mannequin, didn’t mean you weren’t going to wear what you wanted. Short skirts, tight blouses that hugged your chest, or low cut, strappy dresses. If you liked it and it fit, who the fuck cared what anyone else thought? You liked yourself and your body, and if someone else didn’t, then that was their problem.
You liked sex, too, and you had no problems in that department either. You’d had many boyfriends, and a few one-night stands. Currently, you were unattached, but that was ok. There would be another man along at some point and you weren’t going to settle for someone you didn’t like. In the meantime, you’d ogle the eye candy at work.
It was a typical day when you had your first real interaction with Five. Sitting in the breakroom with your lunch, laughing loudly with your coworkers, the room suddenly became very quiet. You looked over to see Five strolling casually in, heading for the coffee station. He didn’t speak to anyone, or really even look in their direction, but there were nervous glances all around. One by one, your friends quietly made some excuse and got up to leave. Eventually, it was just you left at the table.
“Aren’t you going to flee in terror with the rest of them?”
You looked up, surprised to see that he was actually talking to you. You pointed to your salad in front of you. “I’m still eating. And you don’t really scare me, sorry.”
Five looked thoughtful for a second and you saw the glimmer of a smile before he took another sip of coffee.
“Nice work on the Edinburgh case, by the way.”
You nodded. “Thanks. I didn’t think you even knew who I was.”
Five shrugged. “I pay attention. Especially when I see real talent.”
You frowned. “So, you’re stalking me, is that what you’re telling me?”
Five almost choked on his coffee. “What? No! Why would you…”
“I’m kidding!” you laughed. “I’m just messing with you. Thank you, though. I appreciate the compliment.”
“Oh,” Five said, clearly uncomfortable. “You’re welcome.” Then he cleared his throat. “Well, I’ll leave you to finish your meal.”
“You don’t have to go, you know,” you said as he headed for the door. He stopped and looked back at you and you gestured to one of the empty seats. “It’s ok to relax sometimes. Maybe be social? And I don’t bite…at least not without prior consent,” you added with a wink.
Five stood there for a few seconds in thought, and you figured he was conjuring up some perfectly crafted insult for you. Instead, you saw his mouth twitch up at the corner and he gestured to you with his coffee cup.
“Well, that is very good to know. Consent is always important.”
With that, he turned on his heel and walked away.
A few days later you were standing with your friends in the hallway at the end of the workday, talking about the upcoming Commission pickleball tournament you were all playing in. One of your best players had been injured on a job and now you were down a body. As you were discussing options, you saw Five walking in your direction.
“Hey, Hargreeves!” you yelled. “You up for some pickleball?”
Five stopped in his tracks and actually looked around, as if there could be another Hargreeves standing right behind him. Then he looked back at you, thoroughly confused.
“What the hell are you doing?” whispered one of your friends.
“What?” you replied. “The guy’s like a hundred years old, he probably fucking loves pickleball.” You turned back to Five. “We need another player, you game?”
Still rooted to the spot, Five shook his head slowly. “Thanks for the invite. But I’ll have to decline.”
There was an audible sigh of relief from the rest of your group. You rolled your eyes. “Come on! It’ll be fun. You know what fun is, don’t you?”
Five narrowed his eyes, but you could see there was no bite to it. “Yes, I know what fun is.”
“Well, I promise this will be all sorts of fun.” You gave him a big smile. “And as a bonus, you’ll get to watch me run around in a short skirt.”
Your friend next to you slapped you on the arm. “What is wrong with you?” they hissed.
Five actually smiled for a second, you were sure of it. “Tempting, but again, I have to decline.” Then he continued on his way down the hall.
Over the next few weeks, you made it your personal mission to try and get Five to loosen up. Whether you personally delivered case files to him just as an excuse to talk to him, or purposefully followed him into the breakroom, you wouldn’t leave him alone until you got him to at least smile at something you said. After a while, you noticed he was much more relaxed around you. Eventually, you and he were officially friends, much to the amazement of everyone else around you. He even started seeking you out on his downtime.
“Hey there, handsome,” you joked as Five strode up to your desk one day. “Something I can do for you, or did you just miss me?”
“You know, I could report you to human resources for sexual harassment,” he said as he perched on the edge of your desk, folding his arms across his chest with a smile. He had a standard manilla file folder in one hand.
“It’s only harassment if you don’t like it,” you replied, pointing a pen at him.
“I’m not sure that’s accurate.”
“Sure it is,” you said as you jabbed him in the arm with the pen, laughing when he frowned and rubbed at the area. “But seriously, did you need something?”
“Maybe. I just wanted to run this by you.” He slapped the case file on your desk.
“What is it?”
“A case I was assigned to. I read it over though, and I don’t think it’s right. I wanted your opinion.”
You raised your eyebrows. “Me? The legendary Mr. Five wants my lowly opinion?”
“Just shut up and read the fucking file.”
With a laugh, you opened it and started reading. He watched you, rather intently you noticed, while you read. You frowned and shook your head, pointing at a paragraph. “Right here, this isn’t true. The clockmaker didn’t take a carriage to work that day. He walked.”
Five nodded. “That makes this whole case pointless, then. I’d be targeting the wrong person.”
“Shit, you’re right.” You looked up at him. “Good catch.”
“It looked off somehow, but I couldn’t figure it out. I knew you would, though.”
Normally you’d say something snarky to bust his balls, but he was being truly sincere and his compliment meant a lot to you. “Thanks, Five.”
He shrugged and grabbed the file off your desk. “Alright, see you later.”
As he turned around to leave, you couldn’t help yourself. “Hey, Five?”
He stopped and turned. “Yeah?”
“I hate to see you go, but I love to watch you walk away.”
Five shook his head while you cackled at your own joke. “Can’t even make it ten seconds without treating me like a piece of meat. You’re hopeless.”
The following day, you were in the breakroom getting some coffee when you overheard a conversation by some of your coworkers.
“…yeah, I heard it’s not good. Took a shot right to the chest.”
“I heard it was a head shot; that he’s barely alive.”
“No way, I don’t believe it. Not him.”
You turned toward the group, coffee cup in hand. “Who are you talking about?”
“You haven’t heard? Your buddy was shot up pretty bad today.”
You frowned, lowering your cup. “Who, Five?”
“Yeah. I only heard bits and pieces so far, but it doesn’t sound great. They brought him directly to the infirmary when he came back. There was a trail of blood in the hall and everything.”
“What?” you cried, slamming your cup on the counter. “That can’t be.”
Your friend shrugged. “I’m just telling you what I heard.”
“Shit,” you hissed, before running out of the room.
You didn’t slow down the entire way to the infirmary, dodging people in the halls, and almost knocking a few of them over in the process. How could Five be hurt? And why was just the thought making you sick to your stomach?
You burst into the infirmary just in time to see several nurses scurrying away, and a very angry and bloodied Five sitting up in one of the hospital beds.
“God damnit, if you touch me one more time, I swear to god, I will strangle you with my IV line!”
“Oh my god, Five!” Without even thinking about it, you rushed up to him and threw your arms around him, hugging him tightly to you. “Holy shit, I thought you were dead!”
His body stiffened at first, but then he relaxed and put his arms around you in return. You heard him laugh and you pulled away.
“I bet you’d like that. Then you’d finally be able to molest me without me fighting back.”
You realized a few tears had slipped down your cheek and you hurriedly wiped them away. You gave him a half-smile. “You wish.” Then you looked him over, noticing the blood on his head and the IV in his arm. “Are you ok? What happened?”
He sighed. “Nothing, just a minor mishap. I’m fine.” He spoke louder and in the general direction of the nursing staff. “But these jack-holes won’t let me leave!”
You huffed out a laugh. “I can see you’re fine by your usual lovely attitude. You should hear the rumors going around about you, though. Pretty impressive.”
“Good. I need to keep up appearances.”
When you sat down on the side of the bed, you took one of his hands in yours and squeezed it. “I’m glad you’re ok, really. I got really scared there for a minute.”
Five smiled shyly at you and gave you a squeeze back. “I’m glad someone here was worried about me.”
You tilted your head to the side and brushed a stray piece of hair off his forehead and tried to wipe away a smudge of blood. “I doubt I’m the only one.”
“I think you are,” he said, looking you directly in the eyes.
You averted your eyes for a moment. “Is there anything I can do for you?”
“Maybe just one thing.”
“Sure, what do you need?”
He grinned. “Go on a date with me.”
You weren’t sure you heard him correctly. “Did they check you for a concussion because I thought you just asked me out on a date.”
“I did. And no, I am not concussed.”
“Five…” you started, blinking in confusion. “I don’t understand. Do you mean like a date date?”
He huffed and rolled his eyes. “Jesus. Yes, like a date date. Why is this so hard to believe?”
“Uh, well…because we’re friends. Also, I’m not really your type.”
His eyebrows creased together. “You’re not? You’re funny, smart, and sexy. Not to mention you flirt with me every chance you get. What’s not to like?”
“I do not flirt with you.” You smiled when you saw his incredulous expression. “Ok, yeah, I do. But that was just having fun and trying to make you laugh. I didn’t think you’d be into me.”
“Why not?”
“Ok, how do I put this? I have heard all about your little conquests and I know you have a running theme. Skinny, tiny, Barbie dolls that probably have never eaten a sandwich before. And not that there’s anything wrong with that. Everyone has a type and that’s ok. Hell, normally I prefer blond guys, but…”
“Normally?” he cut in.
You blushed. “Well, I do make some exceptions for certain grouchy, dark-haired men.”
Five nodded with a smile. “So then go out with me. I promise the only type I have is the type that I happen to be attracted to. And don’t believe everything you hear around here. Remember,” he pointed to the small abrasion on his head, “I was almost dead a couple of minutes ago.”
Hesitating, you shook your head. “I don’t date anyone from work.”
“Good. Me either,” he said, still grinning.
You laughed. “Alright, then, you wore me down. It’s a date. But only if you promise to stay here for at least another hour without verbally or physically abusing these poor health care workers. It’s not their fault you’re an asshole.”
“Fine, I’ll stay, but only because I want to go out with you.” He raised his voice so the rest of the room could hear. “Not because I need to be treated like a child who fell off their tricycle!”
The next Saturday, you and Five went on your date. When he saw your outfit, he was speechless for a few seconds. He was used to seeing you in your work clothes, which was always the same boring gray pants suit, but now he got to see you in your preferred style. A form-fitting, teal blue dress that stopped halfway down your thighs and had a keyhole neckline to show off a bit of cleavage. You paired it with some gold jewelry and black, strappy heels. You laughed at his face when he saw you.
“You look…” he stammered. “That dress…just wow.”
“Thank you.” You looked him up and down, liking the way his tailored pants fit his lean body just right and his casual button-down shirt that was rolled up at the sleeves accentuated his sculpted chest. You had never really noticed how strong he looked. “You look really good, too. Much better than the stuffy suits.”
“Agreed,” he said distractedly as he continued to stare at your chest.
“Excuse me, but my eyes are up here,” you joked, pointing to your face.
He looked up briefly, then back down at your body. “Yeah, yeah, I’ll get to your eyes in a minute.”
“Wow, I had no idea you were such a pervert.”
He looked up at you with a devious smile. “Oh, yeah, huge pervert. I’m surprised you never picked up on that.” He laughed along with you and then offered his arm for you to loop yours through. “Shall we?”
At dinner, the conversation came easily. It was nice to be able to chat without having to cut it short due to work. Your stories were much duller than his, obviously, but he still seemed genuinely interested in anything you had to say. You made him laugh with your sarcastic comments and you loved knowing you were just about the only one that could crack that veneer of his. Over dessert, you finally worked up enough nerve to ask him what you really wanted to know.
“So, how come you’ve only dated thin girls before?”
Five looked surprised and he shook his head. “I haven’t only dated thin girls.”
You cocked your head to the side and raised your eyebrows. “Really?”
He coughed, embarrassed. “Ok, fine, that’s true. But it wasn’t a conscious decision. Like I said, I’m attracted to who I’m attracted to.” He paused. “But…”
“But what?”
“But what I am most attracted to is confidence. I like a woman that is sure of herself and assertive. A woman that knows what she wants.” He looked guilty for a second. “Usually, at least in my experience, those are the women that happen to fit into the societal standards of beauty. I hadn’t really thought about it until now, though. Sorry.”
“You don’t have to be sorry, it’s not a bad thing. I was just curious.” You hesitated, not sure you wanted to keep pressing him for information. “What was it that attracted you to me, then?”
He looked surprised again and then he laughed. “Are you kidding? I’ve never met anyone as confident and self-assured as you. Plus, you’re funny and easy to be around. And almost as smart as I am.”
“As modest as always.”
“I’m just kidding,” he said with a smile. “You’re incredibly smart, obviously. I wouldn’t waste my time with someone who wasn’t. And…” He reached across the table and placed his hand on top of yours, rubbing the back of it with his thumb. You felt a warm, tingling sensation ripple through your body. “You are also incredibly sexy with your shameless flirting.”
“Well, I’m glad you noticed,” you said, taking your finger and brushing it over his. “And just in case you didn’t know, you are also incredibly sexy.”
“I did not know that.”
“Oh yeah. I made a lot of enemies once word got out that I was going on a date with you. Lots of jealous women back at headquarters right now.”
“Is that so? Can I get a list of those women, just in case this date goes bad?”
Taking your foot, you dragged it up his calf, all while looking him in the eye with one eyebrow raised suggestively. “I don’t think it’s going to go bad, do you?”
He shook his head. “I don’t now.” You saw him swallow hard and shift in his seat. “How about we get the check?”
When you got back to your place, you were almost falling through the door as you struggled to get inside while aggressively making out. Neither of you had even made it out of the car before you started groping one another, so that by the time you had made it home, you were both on fire.
“You know,” you mumbled between frantic kisses as Five slammed the door closed behind him with his foot. “I don’t usually put out on the first date.”
“Me either,” he said as he grabbed you around the waist to pull you in closer, kissing you along your jaw.
“Ok, I lied. Yes, I do,” you exhaled breathily as your hands wound into his hair and he moved his mouth to your neck.
“Good, because I lied too,” he said, stopping to look at you with a sly grin.
After letting out a short laugh, you were back on his mouth again, breathing hard through your nose and pressing your body against his. You could feel his arousal building as he pushed his groin into your hip. Your hands fumbled as you started to unbutton his shirt.
“Fuck, you are so hot,” he breathed against your neck. “I want you out of this dress.”
As you finished undoing the last button and pulling his shirt out of his pants, you nodded. “Yeah, good idea.” When you reached down to pull at the strap of your shoe, he put a hand on yours to stop you. When you looked up, he shook his head.
“I said the dress. The shoes stay on.”
Well, if you hadn’t been wet before, you were now. The tone of his voice and the seriousness of his face only added to the hotness factor and at that point you would have followed almost any demand he made of you. Leaving the shoes on, you pulled the dress over your head while he watched. Even though you hadn’t really been anticipating your date progressing this far, you had still prepared with a pair of satin panties and lace bra that matched the same jewel tone as the dress you dropped onto the floor.
Five didn’t say anything, just eyed you up and massaged the back of his neck. Then he let out a long, shaky exhale.
“Are you ok?” you asked, suddenly a little concerned he might not be liking what he saw.
Five nodded, his gaze not leaving your breasts. “Yeah, just give me a second. I’m trying not to come in my pants.”
Your astonished laugh was quickly cut off when you found yourself pinned against the wall on the other side of the room, the fluttery sensation of one of Five’s spatial jumps lingering in your stomach. Your squeak of surprise was swallowed by his mouth on yours, as he pushed hard against you, his hands on your tits.
When he flicked his tongue across your bottom lip, you moaned and closed your eyes, jerking your hips into him. Your hands found their way to his hard chest and muscular arms, feeling them tighten and relax with each movement. He let you tug his shirt the rest of the way off and you wrapped your arms around his shoulders as he pressed his face into the side of your neck and lifted one of your legs up to his waist. His hard cock was grinding into you as you drew in a ragged breath. When you felt his lips against your skin and his warm breath as he brushed his mouth over your neck, you let out a loud whine.
“That’s right, sweetheart. Let Daddy hear you,” he groaned, his fingers digging into the flesh of your thigh and holding you tightly to him.
“Woah…Daddy?” you breathed out.
Five nodded, moving to the other side of your neck. “Is that ok?”
“Fuck yes, Daddy,” you moaned, running your hands greedily down his back.
You felt him smile against you and his kisses turned into small nips that he trailed down your neck and onto your shoulder.
“I want you. I can’t wait,” he said, his voice husky with desire.
“The bedroom is in there,” you said, pointing to the room just on the other side of the wall.
Five let your leg down and you pulled him by the hand into your bedroom, falling onto the bed and propping yourself on your elbows as Five stood there staring again.
“Well, come on, Daddy,” you teased. “I thought you couldn’t wait.”
A slow smile spread across Five’s face as he immediately started to undress the rest of the way, until he was crawling over you, completely naked. He rubbed his cock against your inner thigh, making a quiet growling noise in his throat before looking you in the eye.
“As much as I love this little bra and panty combination you’ve got going on here, I’m going to need those to go, too.”
When you nodded eagerly, he reached behind you and expertly unhooked your bra, tossing it off the bed before immediately moving farther south and ripping your underwear off. Once you were completely nude, Five sat back to take you all in. You assumed he liked what he saw, because it was only another second before he was covering you with his own body, attacking your full breasts with frantic sucking kisses.
“Damnit, honey, these tits…fuck,” he moaned as he buried his face in your cleavage.
“I take it that you’re pleased?” you giggled, threading your fingers through his hair.
He lifted his head, holding himself over you while he shoved your legs further apart with his knees. Then he lowered himself to kiss you tenderly, caressing your face with one hand. You let out a soft sigh.
“I’m more than pleased. You’re beautiful.”
He leaned in to kiss you again, this time using his free hand to travel down your chest and abdomen, and along your inner thighs. His long fingers met the soft, wet area between them, and he slowly ran them up through your pillowy folds, making you even wetter.
“Five…” you moaned as you rocked your hips up to match his strokes.
“What do you need, sweetheart? Tell me,” he asked, only slightly condescending as he continued to watch your face for your reactions.
Five entered you with two fingers, pressing in slowly and then backing out again before repeating it in a slow rhythm. You chased his hand with desperate thrusts of your hips, biting your bottom lip to try to contain some of the noises that threatened to escape your lips.
“Fuck me, please,” you whined, throwing your head back.
He gave a quiet chuckle and you felt his hand move away from you. Then he was positioning himself between your legs and lowering himself so that you could feel his dick rubbing against your slit.
“God, I swear I’ve never been this hard in my life. I’m going to fuck you like you want, gorgeous. Daddy’s going to take care of you.”
“Oh, shit,” you gasped when you felt him enter you, just slow enough not to be jarring, but not drawing it out, either.
When he was fully inside, you angled your hips so he was at just the right spot.
“How’s that?” he whispered as he slowly pumped into you.
“That’s good…” You grabbed at his shoulders and back. “Keep going.”
Five continued his slow and lazy thrusts while holding himself over you so he could look down at your face and body. His hair fell forward over his eye and he made quiet groaning noises that were punctuated with soft kisses.
“You feel so damn good,” he moaned.
“Five?”
“What do you need, darling?”
“I need you to really fuck me. Hard.”
He looked down at you, momentarily stopping his movements. Then he laughed quietly and you smiled back. “Well, I did say I’d fuck you like you wanted, didn’t I?”
When he pulled out, you let out a soft sigh and watched as he crawled back off the bed, his dick still hard and wet from being inside of you.
“Wha--?” you started to ask, right before he yanked your legs sideways, so that you were laying across the width of the bed.
Five positioned himself between your legs, holding them up under your knees and settling them on either side of his waist while he lined himself up and slammed into you again.
“Is this what you wanted?” he snarled, continuing to thrust into you hard and fast.
“Yes!” you cried, clutching at the sheets beneath you.
Every time he pounded into you, you got to feel the intensity of his strength as your entire body moved back and forth, your tits bouncing enticingly in front of him. He gave your voluptuous ass a hard slap that made you cry out again. You instinctively covered your mouth with your arm.
“Oh, no, I don’t think so,” Five warned through clenched teeth. “Uncover your mouth. I want to hear you scream.”
Everything he was doing and saying was driving you quickly over the edge, and you did scream for him, just like he wanted. You couldn’t even help yourself.
“Yes…please…keep going…harder, please! I need more!”
You were begging and pleading while he railed into you as hard as he possibly could, thrusting his thick cock deep inside of you while slamming his pubic bone right into your clit every single time. All while completely supporting your lower body, angling it up and off the bed so he could fuck you relentlessly and perfectly.
Soon, you felt your muscles start to twitch and your head fell back, your mouth wide open as you repeatedly asked him to fuck you harder. When you finally hit that wall, you completely lost yourself, screaming his name while bucking and thrashing wildly against him.
Your orgasm was still coming in waves when Five released himself inside of you, his head tipped back and jaw set, growling obscenities while his muscles contracted and he dug his fingers harder into your thighs.
When the intensity had passed, Five let go of your legs, setting them gently down, and he leaned over the top of you, his hands on either side of your head. He kissed you tenderly, still trying to catch his breath.
“Fuck, that was good,” he said with a heavy exhale.
You nodded, laying a hand on his cheek. “So damn good.”
After another minute, you both moved so that you were lying longways on the bed again. Five held you against his chest while he kissed your forehead and traced his fingers down your arms and back.
“I’m not sure why we haven’t been doing that all along,” he joked.
“Because you needed to get to know me and my sparkling personality first.”
Five rolled his eyes. “Sparkling? I don’t know, that seems a bit much.”
When you giggled, he pulled you close to him. Your lips pulled to the side in thought and after a few seconds you decided to just put it out there.
“Are you sure you’re ok with my body? I mean, I am, but I just want to make sure you are, too. Because if this is going to continue, and I really hope it does, then I need to know you’re going to be ok with my size and not try to change me after a while. I’ve dated men in the past that said they were ok with it, but then a month or so later, they’re encouraging me to go to the gym or making comments about my diet. They all got kicked to the curb, because I don’t need that kind of negativity in my life. I am who I am and I love my body. I just want to make sure you do, too.”
Five was quiet for a moment, then he held your chin in his hand. “Look at me,” he said quietly, while tilting you face up. “I’m sorry if I ever gave you the impression that body type or looks matter to me, because it doesn’t. I just had the most mind-blowing sex I have ever had, and I wouldn’t change one single thing about you. You’re perfect.”
“Wow,” you said with a smile. “Five Hargreeves just called me perfect. Wait until I spread this rumor down at headquarters.”
“I’m serious,” he said. “You believe me, don’t you?”
You nodded. “I believe you. And thank you.” You gave him a soft kiss and smiled. “So, does this mean I can keep sexually harassing you at work?”
“I hereby give you permission to harass me as much as you want on a daily basis. I will welcome it.”
After that first date, you and Five couldn’t get enough of one another. It was like just being in the same building with him set your body on fire. You would find yourself staring off, lost in a daydream about what his mouth felt like and then someone would clear their throat or say your name, and you’d realize they had been talking to you without you noticing.
Obviously, everyone knew that something was going between you two. You hadn’t exactly spread the word, but you also hadn’t denied it. You didn’t really care what anyone thought, anyway. The only problem was, there was a strict policy of no relationships between case managers and field agents in place. This was done to protect the agents, and to avoid any favoritism with assignments. A few casual flings here and there were overlooked, but serious relationships were usually squashed. Not that you would describe what you had as serious. Yet, anyway.
You did love spending time with one another, even without the sex. You even made Five join you at lunch with your usual group, much to the shock of your friends. It was awkward at first, but when Five cracked a very dry and cutting joke about someone in upper management, the table went silent for a second before bursting into laughter. He looked at you in surprise, like he couldn’t believe he was having this type of positive social interaction. You just smiled and shrugged, mouthing “I told you so”.
Despite the fact that you spent a lot of time together outside of work, that didn’t stop either of you from taking advantage of your proximity at the Commission. You had lost count of the number of times you two had stolen away somewhere in the building for a quickie during the day. With Five’s status plus his convenient teleportation powers, you could hide anywhere you could think of that would give you at least a few minutes of privacy.
You would be sitting there, attempting to work on a case, when Five would come strolling in. Just the sight of him striding into the room, all confident and sexy with that tiny smirk on his face, made you want to jump on top of him. He would approach you with some made up problem he had and ask you to go with him so you could help straighten it out. It was pretty apparent what was going on, and your coworkers would exchange glances around you, but you didn’t care.
Once you were safely down the hallway, Five would grab you and blink you into some abandoned storage room where you were immediately attacked. You had told him to stop being so aggressive while at work, because the hickeys he was leaving on your neck were clearly visible. But that didn’t stop him from shoving you against a table or a wall, all while kissing you fervently and telling you how much he wanted you in that deep, growling voice of his.
Dropping to his knees to eat you out while kneading the flesh of your ass. Spinning you around to bend you over a table before fingering you and then fucking you from behind. Biting and sucking at your tits and stomach, leaving marks that would be hidden by your clothes, but were still a reminder of who you belonged to. All of it was expertly done, as only Five could do, and you couldn’t get enough.
The servicing wasn’t a one-way street, though. You liked to flip the tables sometimes and push him against the wall, sliding slowly down his body until you were kneeling in front of him, hands already clawing at his belt and zipper while you called him Daddy. When you would take all of him into your mouth, he would hiss through his teeth and groan loudly, his hand resting in your hair while he praised you for being good for him. He wanted you to look at him while you sucked him off, and tell you to finger yourself while you did it. You’d be choking on his dick, a hand shoved into your panties, and both of you moaning until you came; all while the throngs of Commission employees were passing by right outside the door.
It was quickly becoming apparent that your relationship was evolving into something more. You were starting to spend more nights together, sleeping in one another’s beds, curled up together and waking up happy in the morning, just to be near each other. Five loved cuddling up with you, pulling your soft body close against his, and nuzzling into your neck or hair. He told you how happy you made him and thanked you for pulling him out of his shell. He’d idly stroke your arms and thighs while you would lie together in the dark, just talking quietly. In the morning, he’d trace patterns over the white, jagged lines that criss crossed your abdomen and hips, reminding you how beautiful you were as the sunlight spilled across your bed.
Your feelings for Five were starting to seep into your everyday routines and the work you normally prided yourself on. You found yourself worrying about every assignment he went on, even though you knew he was a professional and could handle it.
After a while, the cases you started assigning him got easier and easier, whereas before you would have given him the most difficult and dangerous ones. He finally called you out on it when he received a total rookie assignment while another agent that was not nearly as skilled received a much more complicated one.
He sat on the corner of your desk, a smug grin on his face, as he dropped the file in front of you.
“What the hell is this?” he asked you, still smiling.
You glanced down at the file, then back at him. “What do you mean?”
He tapped the file with his finger. “This garbage. It’s a case for a newbie. Hell, you could probably hand this to any random person off the street and they could do it. So what’s going on?”
You sighed, crossing your arms over your chest and frowning. “Maybe I thought you just needed a break, that’s all.”
He studied your face and shook his head. “No, that’s not it. Every case I get from you these days is getting simpler and simpler. I just haven’t said anything until now. Are you losing faith in my abilities, is that it?”
Your eyebrows raised in surprise. “Of course not! It’s just, you know…” Your voice trailed off and your eyes flitted away from his.
“No, I don’t know. Tell me.”
With a heavy sigh, you dropped your hands onto the desk in front of you, looking up at him. “Fine. I’m scared to give you anything complicated because I’m afraid something will happen to you. And I don’t really want my boyfriend being gunned down or stabbed or beaten all to shit, ok? Especially not in another timeline where you might not even be able to come back.”
Five took a second to absorb that information, then he looked down with a smile. “You really worry about me?”
“Yes, I worry about you. Is that so bad? You might not be as amazing as you think you are. You’re not infallible, you know.”
Five made a face like he hadn’t actually considered that before, which was mildly infuriating, and then he looked at you with that gentle smile of his that you knew he saved only for you. He leaned in and gave you a quick but tender kiss full on the mouth, even though you were still in a roomful of people that could see. When he pulled away, you felt your face flush, but not from embarrassment.
“Thank you,” he whispered earnestly.
Then he flashed you that arrogant smirk again, the dimple on his cheek deepening, before snatching a much thicker file off your desk, and blinking away without another word.
It was only a matter of time, you supposed, before Corporate caught wind of your relationship. Especially when you were making erratic decisions with your cases lately. Both you and Five received a notice from senior management requesting a meeting. You were a mess of anxiety and nerves when the time came. Your career was important to you, and it was not in your nature to just throw that away for some man. But Five wasn’t just any man, was he? If you were going to have to choose between your job and your relationship with him, you had no idea what you were going to do.
Sitting in front of the executive’s desk, your leg bounced up and down with nerves as you waited for Five to join you. When he arrived, he had the absolute audacity to look calm and unbothered as he sat down in the chair next to you. He greeted the manager and then turned to give you a wink and a small smile. You really had no idea how he could be this nonchalant. Maybe he didn’t care if you had to end things.
“As I’m sure you know, the reason you two have been called here today is –”
Five cut your manager off mid sentence. “Yes, we are fully aware. According to section 64, subsection D of the Commission Code of Conduct, we are prohibited from being in a romantic relationship with one another.”
The executive paused. “Well, yes, that’s correct. And so –”
“And so you have to inform us that we either have to end our relationship or resign from our positions.”
There was another moment of perplexed silence from across the desk. “Uh, yes…”
“But that is only because of the current departments we work for, due to conflicting interests, correct?” Five continued.
“That is correct, yes. But—”
“So, if we move to the same department, that shouldn’t be an issue?”
“Well…yes…I suppose…”
You looked at Five, completely confused. “Five, what are you doing? You don’t want to work in case management. I know you don’t.”
He nodded. “You’re right. But you can train to become a field agent.”
Your mouth hung open. “What?”
“You’ve only mentioned that you were interested in being out in the field about 50 times, so why not? They can always use more agents,” he turned to the manager, “Isn’t that right?”
The man cleared his throat. “Oh. Well, yes, that’s true.”
Five nodded again, as if that explained everything. “Alright then, so move her to my department. She has the determination and skill. And you have my official recommendation, which as you know, holds a lot of weight around here.”
There was another look of bewilderment in your direction. “Yes, Mr. Hargreeves, that’s true. I suppose we could do that—”
Five stood up with a smile. “Great! It’s all settled then.” He turned to you, still sitting in your chair and trying to make sense of all of this.
What he had said was true. You had told Five many times that you wished you could have his job. But you figured that was outside of your skill set. Five didn’t seem to agree. He knew you were highly intelligent, strong, and had the right personality. You just needed the proper training.
He reached out a hand to pull you up. “Is this all ok with you, darling? Do you have anything to add?”
You shook your head slowly. “Uh, no…I mean, yes…I mean, yes I’m ok with it and I don’t have anything else to add.”
“Great!” Five turned to the manager. “Just send me the paperwork we need to fill out and we can call it good.”
The manager shook each of your hands and it appeared that the meeting was over before it began. Five guided you towards the door with a hand on your back. You looked over your shoulder, still unsure of what exactly just happened, but you let him push you outside into the hall.
“What the fuck, Five?” you demanded, hands on your hips. “You want to tell me what is happening right now?”
“It’s pretty obvious, isn’t it? They weren’t going to let us keep dating if we were working in our current departments, so one of us had to move. And I know this is what you really wanted.”
You thought for a moment. “So…you didn’t think of breaking up with me just to keep things the same?”
His mouth dropped open and then he snapped it shut again, his brows furrowing and creating deep creases between his eyes. “No. Of course not.” He took a few steps closer to you and took your face gently into his hands, gazing into your eyes. “I love you.”
You drew in a sharp breath. “What?”
“I love you,” he repeated, this time with a smile.
You answered him, your own grin spreading slowly across your face. “Say that again.”
Five laughed, leaning down to kiss you and you hugged him around his waist. “I love you,” he said again after breaking away.
“I love you too, Five. I don’t know if I realized it until just now, but I do. I love you so much.”
Five nodded. “Well, that’s a relief. Because I would have looked like a giant asshole if I did all that and you shot me down.”
Laughing, you reached up for another kiss that quickly turned very heated. When you pulled away, Five was breathing hard and he tugged your body harder against his.
“There’s an empty room down the hallway over there,” he said suggestively.
You shook your head. “Sorry, honey, but we have to get to work. I have a lot of training to start on.”
“I think you forget who your new boss is,” he said in that serious tone of his.
Five pulled you in tightly again, kissing you hard on the mouth and flattened you against the wall. His hand roamed down to your chest and he gave your breast a small squeeze while pressing his knee in between your legs. When he heard you moan softly into his mouth, he backed away with a grin.
“You know, I can report you to HR for sexual harassment,” you said with a crooked smile, even though you were having a hard time controlling your heart rate.
“It’s not harassment if you like it,” he shot back before giving you a loud smack on the ass.
Then he turned around and walked away, leaving you flustered and hot; but also with that amazing feeling in the pit of your stomach from knowing you had found the perfect person to love and that loved you just as much in return.

Hello! This is something kind of niche but I was wondering if you could write a Pornstar!Miguel x Pornstar!Fem!Reader, where he is a new pornstar and meets with her the day before their shoot. He’s like super sweet to her and they have an informal hangout/date to like be comfortable around each other. Reader tries their best to ease his worry him cuz he seems kinda shy, but the day of their shoot he’s a total freak in the sheets and it totally catches her off guard? Dirty talk, dom and all.
I love your writing so much and I know you’ll do a great job writing whatever your heart desires for this one! Thx in advance <333
No lie this sounds cute as fuck! Here we go!
Warning: MINORS DNI, Smut, rough sex, dirty talk
------------------------------------------------------------------------
It was another beautiful day. You were ready to receive your next paycheck, but first, you had to help the new guy. A soft chuckle escaped your lips as you walked into a popular coffee shop. You were actually excited for this secret meetup. Normally, it was informal to meet your coworkers before a shoot, but this new guy? Oh, he was your type!
You were a pornstar. It is a long story on how you got into the business, but you were good at acting. A little too good. As you waited in line, you let out a soft sigh. While the paychecks were nice, you were really ready for something new. Cue, your manager making you a teacher and setting you up with newbies.
"Two extra shots of espresso." You muttered, trying to avoid groaning at the thought.
Despite the struggle of your job, you were eager for tomorrow. The new porn star, Miguel, was going to be your next partner. You saw his file and the man was huge and good looking. He was the one who actually asked to meet you in person. It was cute how shy he sounded over the phone.
"(Y/N)?" Miguel waves slowly, sitting in a corner table. You approached him with your drink,
"Hi, Miguel!" You said with a chirp, "My god, you're so tall."
"Sorry," Miguel went to shake your hand before immediately sitting down towards your comment.
You sat across from him, admiring his features. The man chose to become a porn star than a model? He was going to be an instant lady killer! Hopefully his acting was decent.
"Thanks again for meeting me. As you can tell, I'm a little nervous with this being my first shoot and all." Miguel said. You smiled,
"It's no biggie. It's kind of fun breaking the rules like this. Why don't we just chat about ourselves, get more comfortable with each other? I'm sure it will help you out a lot." You offered.
Miguel took the suggestion and the two of you spoke for hours. There was a chemistry there and you sensed it. You were disappointed when you had to leave for the night. Miguel parted ways with and kiss to your hand. He was such a gentleman! You were already imagining the slow and soft sex he was going to give you tomorrow.
It would be different for sure, but you were looking forward to it. Hopefully, Miguel won't disappoint you like all of your other coworkers. It was frustrating to work in the porn industry, but could never cum in your own videos. You always had to fake an orgasm and pleasure yourself later.
"Let's not think of the negative! Just...look forward for tomorrow," You told yourself.
-----------
"Alright, you know the rules. First shoot, newbie gets to pick the theme. We will go from there afterwards," Your manager called out to the crew.
You glanced at Miguel, seeing him nervously look around, "Hey, it's going to be okay. I promise I won't bite, unless you want me too."
"Haha," Miguel smiled towards you, "Is it okay if we do something simple?"
"You get to pick. Why not something that will get you in the mood?" You suggested and showed him the costume room, "Is there something you want to see me wear?"
Miguel looked around, his eyes sparkling at some of the outfits. He glanced back at you,
"I know what I want to do."
---------
"Mhm~ I don't have any money for this massage~ Is there any other way I can pay you?"
You laid against a soft bed, spreading your naked legs apart. Your gaze towards Miguel as you slowly rubbed your own clit. Miguel had chosen a massage sex scene. Something where he could feel your body to get you prepped. How kind and generous of him. You hummed sweetly, faking a moan as you dove your fingers towards your hole.
"No money? That's fine, I'll just have to massage one more place before you can leave."
You're eyes widen as Miguel removed his pants. He hovered over you, stealing your lips in a forceful kiss before his hands roamed your body. You pressed yourself against him, your hand heading towards his cock. Miguel grabbed your wrists, pinning them above your head before growling lowly,
"I'm giving the massage. Not you, chica (girl)"
For once, you felt a shiver run down your spine. What happened to the shy man from yesterday? You're eyes widen as Miguel's fingers started to enter your pussy. He started with one, stretching you out more than some of your coworker's dicks. You raised your hips slightly, wanting to help him get more access, but once again he pinned you down.
"Tsk, tsk, do you come onto all your massage therapists?" Miguel spat lowly, "Being such a slut?"
You shivered once more to his cruel tone. He sucked against your breasts while another finger entered your pussy. Miguel's fingers were wandering around your gummy walls, searching for that sweet spot. This was different. You're eyes widen once he curled his fingers, making you moan for real.
"That's right. Pay your bill in full." Miguel whispered.
You gasped lowly as Miguel pumped his fingers against that spot. He removed himself from your breasts, keeping you held down. His thumb pressed against your clit, causing you to squirm under him. Miguel just kept making eye contact with you. It was as if he wanted to watch you break because of him.
"What a slutty face. You like this kind of massage right?"
"Y-Yes." You whimpered, feeling your body burn with pleasure.
This was actually happening. You felt a tight knot growing in your lower abdomen. Miguel's fingers only went faster. It wasn't long until he entered a third finger that really made you break. You arched your back, moaning and whining as he wrecked your pussy with just his fingers alone. With one more curl, you finally felt that tight tension burst.
"You're getting my work area dirty, that's going to cost extra."
You were panting softly from your intense orgasm. Miguel withdrew his fingers, causing you to shiver slightly. You were feeling the need, the want. Your pussy was throbbing and begging to be filled. Miguel was the first person who actually made you cum. You gasped, forcing a smile as you saw him position his dick right against your folds.
He was fucking big! You spread your legs, teasing your entrance for him. This was just part of the job. Miguel grunted as he grabbed your legs, placing them over his shoulders. He bit against your inner thigh before pushing his dick inside you. You whimpered, arching your back as you pretended to be fine.
Miguel's dick was stretching you out. This was a first. His dick felt hot and strong. Once he was fully inside you, Miguel pinched your clit, causing you to moan and whine. He smirked, pounding the life out of your pussy, breaking you down even more.
"So fucking tight. You don't get much exercise here, do you?" He mocked.
You moaned in response, focusing a little too much on how good this felt. His dick beating against your pussy with each rough and wet slap of his hips. His tip kissing your cervix each time, threatening to remind you that this was his moment. You were his fuck toy. You whined, your eyes nearly rolling back as Miguel rubbed your clit again.
"You're going to have to come back. I'm going to have to remind this pussy that it owes me payment." Miguel grunted as he went faster.
You felt your growing orgasm once more. Miguel held your body down against the bed, pressing his dick further inside you. Your mouth formed an 'o' as you started to see stars. Whimpers and moans were all you were able to say as you cam hard against his dick. Even after a second orgasm, you still could not believe that this was happening.
"That's a good fucking sign. My little slut is finally relaxing," Miguel spat as he griped your hips tightly, cumming inside you.
Your body trembled as you felt his hot, sticky load fill you. With a pop, Miguel pulled out, leaving your pussy a mess. A mixture of your juices and his cum pouring out of your abused hole.
"Cut! Good job (Y/N), Miguel! I think that's going to be a killer!" You managed yelled out.
"Are you okay?" Miguel asked as he helped you up. You panted softly, regaining your composure,
"Y-Yeah,"
"I didn't go overboard, did I? You're not hurt?" He kept asking, giving you a towel to wrap yourself with.
"You did amazing. I'm the opposite of hurt," You told him as the two of you walked towards the showers, "In fact, you did something none of my other coworkers could do."
"I did?"
"Yes, and I would love to be your partner for ongoing shoots. If not, then...maybe we can meet outside of work?" You whispered the last part to him, feeling slightly embarrassed. Miguel just smiled,
"I would love that."
You watched Miguel enter the shower first, wondering to which part he agreed to. Unsure, you followed him into the shower, still daydreaming about his dick.
You found out afterwards that Miguel agreed to both.

what they call you
gojo, geto, nanami, shoko, toji, shiu, ino
if they were dating you series.
gojo
baby, chimichanga, pookie
baby is simple, and he calls you that regularly. also uses it when he's whining and sulking, trying to persuade you do fo something or forgive him. if the two of you are just starting off in a relationship, then this is where he starts off.
i'm still on my gojo as deadpool saga </3 chimichanga would actually be cute though. chimi for short, ninja if he wants to tease you, 'chimi cha cha slide changa' if he's feeling silly, or some variation of that. at some point, he'd actually want to try chimichangas with you.
pookie seems so gojo... i can't even explain it. if he has instagram but keeps the identity of you private, your codename would be pookie.
geto
angel, beloved, lovely
angel because he would believe you're saving his life. or maybe it's the other way around idk... you'd be there to comfort him when times were extremely low, it's like you're a blessing to him.
to geto, you're definitely a number 1 priority, which applies to every category known to man. you're his beloved because he protects you and never wants you to get hurt.
lovely would sound so lovely from him </3 his voice is smooth, so every time it comes out of his mouth is just heaven.
bonus!!! even him just saying your name holds so much love and value, so sometimes it may even feel a little weird having him say a nickname instead.
nanami
darling, love, dear
the holy trinity of course. honey or sweetheart may or may not pop up here and there, but not as frequently. i can't even make them separate because they all have the same reasoning anyways. all of them just sound perfect. nicknames that show how precious you are to him >>> nicknames that highlight your beauty. i don't make the rules.
actually!!! nanami uses love when he's comforting you. subtle way to remind you that he does love you, no matter how you're feeling or what you think about yourself.
bonus!!! wife. just "my wife." husband nanami is so real for this. we all get it.
shoko
cherry/loosie, pretty, babe
cherry and loosie are cigarette references. it would sound so nice coming from her until you ask what it actually means or why she calls you that. they're usually said when you talk to her on her smoke breaks.
UGH i can just imagine pretty rolling off her tongue when she calls you before doing an operation. i think she'd call you pretty daily too, both noun and adjective, and especially over text.
i don't think she'd really use overly cute nicknames, so babe is just right. mostly used in casual conversation, or if any coworkers are around.
toji
girl/woman, mama, sweet/sugar
toji is a sassy man. if you just nagged or scolded him, would say "okay, girl?" with no regrets whatsoever. says it as if he's innocent too, doesn't even blink an eye, or even care when you (pretend to) get annoyed or offended.
no he doesn't want any(more) kids, but he does call you mama. kinda comes from the time when he would do sneaky links, but you don't need to know that. when you're doing domestic activities like cooking or doing chores, this one frequently slips out. it's on impulse and he can't help it.
not sweetheart, just sweet. if we're basing this off of post mamaguro toji, i think sweet would come from "bittersweet", because he'd probably feel that way after getting into another relationship. sugar just sounds right as well. get it? because it's sweet.
kong shiu
darling, princess, missy/mrs kong
he's a darling guy for sure. the right amount of formal, but he can make it sound like a tease when he wants to. mostly used when the two of you are at home.
shiu would make you his princess whether you like it or not. you're his passenger princess, so it's natural he just calls you princess on it's own. feel free to decorate the seat as well because he'd actually let you.
mmm... mrs kong. he'd start saying that a few months before he proposes to you, and you wouldn't pick up the hint at all. makes an emphasis on it when he says it as well, just because. when you guys knew each other only for a bit but nicknames seemed okay, missy was a top pick. imagine shiu's driving you somewhere and he does a lil glance and calls you missy while talking... mhm...
takuma ino
bubs, sunshine, queen
ino definitely calls you cute things, and this applies to all of the above. bubs, however, is on another level. when he gives you headpats (canon because i said so) he'd drop a compliment and call you bubs on top of that.
would say it when he wakes you up in the morning with a call or text. "good morning sunshine!" hello??? get me a man that would say that to me every morning WITHOUT FAIL (that's also canon because i said so) you'd be the light in his life and he won't let you forget that.
umm.. i have no solid explanation for this, but it feels right yk? ino would treat you like a queen honestly... in his eyes, you'd be at least ten levels above him and he means that.
bonus!!! he always uses loml over text. there's definitely multiple strings of you calling each other loml and seeing who can keep it up for longer in your messages.

DETECTIVE LOKI - JEALOUSY NSFW PROMPT
╰┈➤“It looked like he was trying to flirt with you”
Pairing: David Loki x reader
Word count: 2232
WARNINGS: p in v sex, creampie, slight grinding, possessive sex, biting, marking, swearing, average dirty talk, spanking, palming, semi-public, loki is a little bit of a grump at the start, not super ooc i hope, both of you are a little toxic lol, fingers in mouth. Let's assume birth control is in place here. Lol. Think that's it, there might be more.
-ˋˏ✄┈┈┈┈
This is actually my first ever published nsfw fic, so please go easy on me <3 Enjoy my loves!
You and Loki had been coworkers for what felt like an eternity by now, he was a diligent person who took his occupation acutely seriously. Which is grounds for why he managed to not only get promoted up to being a sergeant of the sector you worked in, but also have exclusive access to his own private office and dictatorship over other workers' roles. Unmistakably, he is incredible as a detective and supervisor. That being said, he isn't perfect. He’s reckless, arrogant, stubborn, cocky, antisocial, a workaholic and breaking what would be considered a societal rule of workplaces. Don't mess around with your coworker!
You two had been in a secret situationship for around almost a year now, casual but also intense. No-one in your work suspected a thing either, Loki was just as good at hiding things as he was at figuring them out. The thing about casual yet intense secret situationships is that how concrete the “relationship” actually is, could be considered shaky. He’s never really explicitly made it clear to even you what you both are, despite spending almost every waking hour outside of work together whether that be romantic dates, cuddling, sex etc. Did this frustrate you? Yes. You wanted him to be emotionally available and ready for you, to not have to wonder to yourself whether he even considers you an actual partner or not. You'd bring up the question and he would act so stupidly nonchalant about it or say he just wants to “let it go with the flow.”
Does he even give a shit? You sighed to yourself staring at the timed out screen of your computer, leaning back and stretching your back and arms out.
Before you could go back to your daydreams, or work for that matter. You heard one of your coworkers call out your name from across the room.
“Hey! y/n! y/n! C'mere for a sec.” Your coworker Miles announced
Your cheeks widened, Miles was a relatively new guy around your age. He was kind of childish, bright, bubbly and overall just a nice guy. You were assigned to train him and since then he's more or less stuck by your side and been a great coworker for you to do cases and research with.
Making your way over to his desk you spotted a certain someone from the corner of your eye. Loki, walking towards another coworker's desk yet clearly distracted by whatever you were up to. He thinks he's good at having a poker face, and he is. Just not with you, that furrowed eyebrow and light frown said it all. It's mainly your fault he's on high alert right now though, a few nights ago you felt tired of feeling like you were just an undecided casual fling for him. And so you may have.. Accidentally made a point that if he doesn't make a decision on what you guys are, you'll find someone else to be the one for you.
It pissed him off, clearly. But you assumed that you were both over that silly little argument by now since things had been relatively normal, but guesses are that wasn't the case. You and Miles chatted for around ten minutes or so, maybe even less. You giggled a few times here and there and even absent mindedly placed your hand on his shoulder, in the back of your head you realised how this may look to Loki and internally shuddered.
He began to stutter, “oh..oh um.. By the way y/n”
“Yes Miles?”
“I was thinking..um.. Well if you want to at some point we would like.. Maybe hang outside of work? Go to a bar or something?” he continued on “i mean- it's fine if not but y’know.. You're so sweet and kind to me… and well, beautiful.”
You saw from the corner of your eye Loki making his way over, oh boy.
“We are doing work here right, the two of you?” he asked sternly. You rolled his eyes at him “Yes Loki, we are. It's just unlike you, some people have lives outside of work” Miles looked awkwardly between you and Loki, the tension in the air was insanely thick. “Yeah uh.. Sorry about that Loki. I guess I got kind of distracted since y/n is fun to talk to” he smiled before semi-flirtatiously winking at you. Loki didn't twitch a single muscle in his face, you gave Miles an awkward smile to alleviate the atmosphere. Before Loki scoffed and pointed towards your desk “y/n. Off back to your desk please. I have some paperwork I need you to fill.” and then proceeded to turn to miles ``Miles, i know you're new here but flirting and dating is strictly prohibited in the workplace. If I catch that again you will be in trouble.” You huffed and walked away, how hypocritical of him..
It was past 11 pm now, the station was practically empty besides maybe a few less than a dozen people working. Loki had so happened to ask you to stay back to “talk about documents,” but you were well aware of what the conversation was really about. You walked into his office, immediately crossing your arms together.
“Come closer.'' He directed, pointing you to stand next to him as he sat down in his chair finishing up some paperwork. “So, wanna explain what was happening earlier? I saw that. And heard it” he continued on “It looked like he was trying to flirt with you, or maybe you were trying to flirt with him too.”
You extended your hand to his back, slowly moving up to his shoulder and beginning to massage him gently to cool him off. “Well no i wasn't flirting with him, but i didn't realise we were exclusive like that David.” he scoffed, and you huffed in return. “last time i checked our thing was barely even a thing right? Hardly even a label on it,” you began to apply more pressure to his shoulders. “Thats fucking hilarious” he asserted with an unfriendly grin, “So you want us to be an official thing and yet you accept others flirting with you right infront of me, really?” he pushed your hands off him and in response you glared at him. He continued on, “After our little argument the other day you have to have some sort of understanding on why I might be fuckin’ concerned.”
“What? I hardly accepted it..and even so you expect me to just sit around here waiting for you to be ready to label our relationship??? How about you look at the reality here David. You refuse to make the claim on me. Maybe someone like Miles would actually be able to commit and I appreciate the idea of it.”
David looked at you with shame on his face, something strangely comforting considering the argument you were in right now and his usual stubborn self. “Look Y/N, I know.. That i'm not exactly good at this whole thing. I’m so used to being alone that the thought of giving myself fully to someone.. well.. scares me.” he placed face into his palm “I don't want to be uncommitted to you, i want you to be mine. And maybe this has made me realise that.” He wrapped his arm around your waist and guided you to sit on his lap, wheeling his chair back a little for space. “The thought of some little twerp like Miles flirting with you drives me crazy. I know it's selfish but I want you to myself without the fear of uh.. Well, abandonment.”
You stretched your arms around his shoulders and pressed your forehead against his “I'm not leaving you David.. You're all I want.” “So make me yours please, commit me to me..” you whispered to him softly. His breath hitched and he sighed, pressing his lips against yours before tugging at your bottom lip ever so slightly with his teeth. The pinch of it made you squeak, you reached up to his hair and tugged on it tenderly. He pushed you up against him so he could have proper access to your neck, Slowly biting and sucking it between different places to give you light bruises. You moaned, beginning to rock your hips against him to gain some pressure against your clothed pussy. The sound of him growling against your neck as he sucked on the skin vibrated right down to your core, “Fuck this feels good, David” you gasped. “God y/n i want to ravage you right now” he whispered against you before leaning into another deep kiss, you could feel his dick throbbing through his pants as you both swirled and pressed tongues together.
You began to palm him through his pants during your kiss, stroking and feeling up the growing length. “David.. What if we get caught?” you said in between breaths. He choked out a stammered laughed in response “Fuck i don't even know if i care y/n, i need you so badly i wouldn't mind if people found out.” You giggled slightly, staring deeply into his eyes. “That's just your dick talking, but it's pretty empty in the station.. I'm sure it'll be fine.” You used that to cue him to start pulling down your pencil skirt and panties, whilst you unbuttoned his shirt and undressed his lower region halfway down to his thighs. His dick was hard and leaking with precum, his face flushed red. “You look so needy right now dave.” he sighed in response and you snickered as you began to grind your exposed wet pussy against his cock. He began rubbing his sticky hot tip up against your clit for extra stimulation and you whined, settling your head against his shoulder weakly. He furrowed his brow and showed his toothy grin “Look at you. a complete mess in my office on my lap, what happened to me being needy?” Before you could get another rebuttal in, he moved his hands down your body to your hips and began to align your hole to his cock. As he steadily pushed into you he groaned into your neck. “Fuuuck y/n” he murmured as he began to thrust up and down, you moaned in response pulling against his hair. He swiftly spanked your ass with one hand and placed the other around the nape of your neck massaging it, enjoying the whimpers and mewls he’d pull from your lips.
Unexpectedly the two of you heard footsteps from outside his office, both of you froze in place unsure of what to do
“Detective Loki? Are you there? May I come in please?” a voice of one of your coworkers called from outside the door
You expected him to stop and pull you off, but he smirked coyly and inserted three fingers into your mouth and began to slowly thrust into you again. You arched your back in response, trying to contain your moans and noises of slurping from the drool beginning to fill your mouth and dribble down your chin.
“Uh.. yeah i'm in here, look i need some uh.. um.. space for the moment” he awkwardly yelled back out, even you could see in his eyes that his adrenaline was at a maximum right now. What on earth was he thinking?
“Oh.. i have some pretty important paperwork man i-” David interrupted him before he could finish, “Please just leave it at your desk and i'll..” he stared at the way you were grinding up and down onto his dick, before snapping back to reality, “...come pick it up when I'm ready.” David was struggling to contain himself. He gazed into your eyes as you swirled your tongue around his fingers pushing in and out of your mouth, simultaneously thrusting his cock slowly and deeply inside of you. The warmth and stickiness of your bodies pressed against each other made him melt back into his leather chair.
As soon as he heard the door from outside his office shut he briskly lifted you up and flipped you over onto your stomach against his desk, he leaned down pressing his chest against your back, the pressure of his weight crushing you was so intense yet felt so good. “God you're sexy y’know that?” he half whined half growled into your ear, his thrusts becoming more and more powerful. You cried out in pleasure, unable to move or escape from the position. He pulled your hair to gain access to your ear, gently nibbling on your lobe as he continued his deep and sharp thrusts. “You’re all fucking mine y/n” he groaned, “Oh god i feel like i'm gonna cum David. Please cum in me” You yelped out squirming beneath him, gripping onto the edge of his now mess of a desk. He didn't need to be told twice to do so, he buried his face into your neck before pressing a final thrust into you, loading thick streams of cum inside. You practically shrieked, it felt incredible.
Afterwards you both just sat there together on his chair, unsure of what to do with the mess you made. But content and loving in each other's arms with him stroking his fingers through your hair.
“Bet he couldn't make you feel that good ay?” he chuckled.
partially proof read, will come back to check on it when i wake up <3

I like narumitsu/wrightworth enough but you people need to accept that it’s not that deep compared to the rest of the series. Most of the cool things about it exist only in the fandom.
That said, to help you i have compiled a list of ships that are gayer/more canon than narumitsu/wrightworth, ranked by how gay/arguably canon they are:*
Asoryuu. Do not spoil the rest of tgaa2 for me, but i do know about some things that I haven’t gotten to yet. Anyways i think breaking the boat rules and risking your trip to Britain that you’ve been dreaming of forever in order to bring your childhood friend (for whom you were already about to risk the trip again in order to get him out of murder charges) with you is a bit gayer than starting work in a profession you’re good because you heard that guy you knew in elementary school is a prosecutor now.
Susahao. do not spoil the rest of tgaa2 for me. Anyways if you’ve played it you know what I’m talking about
Aurametis. If you try to tell me that “unnecessary feelings” is gayer or more canon than “her respect as a coworker isn’t all that I wanted” you should maybe see a doctor. This would be at the top of the list if I wasn’t also ranking for sheer gay energy
Shamseki. do not spoil the rest of tgaa2 for me. Anyways see my shamseki post, it’s gotten even gayer as I play through the case. Even if it’s not a true ship, they definitely fucked and soseki was topping
Klapollo. This is more vibes based with only a few lines that actually help it, but holy shit are those vibes there. Especially if you ship narumitsu, then it’s a narrative parallel
Gumwright. The entirety of t&t, maya is just constantly trying to get phoenix to date gumshoe and gumshoe isn’t denying it. My headcanon is that gumshoe told maya he liked phoenix and she’s trying to be his wingwoman
Gumworth. I have to concede that this is actually on the same level of gayness/canon as narumitsu if not slightly less but I’m putting it here because most people assume it’s far lower than that and that’s an injustice to poor gumshoe
*not ranked by popularity/which ones are my favorites. I haven’t finished tgaa2 or played aaic so i don’t know about that lore yet, please don’t spoil anything more for me.

Interrupted – Timothy McGee
It all happened so fast. One minute we were securing the building, the next McGee and I were outrunning a bomb.
"Y/L/N!" McGee yelled. "Get down!"
I gasped when he grabbed me and pulled me to the ground, instantly covering me. We held our breaths as shrapnel and building parts showered around us.
"Thanks, McGee," I whispered.
"Anytime," he said gently. We stared at each other, none of us moving as things slowly calmed down around us.
"Y/L/N! McGee!" We heard the others call out to us. McGee looked down, his eyes widening when he realized he was still on top of me.
"Sorry," he stuttered.
"It's okay," I laughed awkwardly. He got off and pulled me to my feet. I took a step but gasped when pain shot up my leg. I would've collapsed if McGee hadn't caught me.
McGee wrapped his arms around me and walked me toward the others.
"There they are!" DiNozzo yelled. He and Gibbs ran toward us.
"Are you two hurt?" Gibbs asked.
"Y/N's hurt," McGee said. "I'm fine, but she can barely walk."
"There's an ambulance over there," Gibbs said as he took me from McGee. As he led me away, I looked over my shoulder to see McGee watching me.
I wasn't sure where McGee was as the EMTs checked my ankle. After they looked it over, they carefully helped me out of the back of the ambulance. I rounded the corner and stopped when McGee was walking over.
"Hey," McGee said.
"Hi," I smiled.
"How are you feeling?"
"Not bad," I shrugged. "It's just a sprain so I feel a little. . ."
I gasped when he was suddenly right in front of me. "Are you okay?" I whispered.
"I just. . . I was really scared. I thought. . . When that bomb went off, I didn't know if you were going to make it."
"Me?" I asked, my voice soft. "What about you? Weren't you worried something was going to happen to you?"
"I didn't care what happened to me," McGee shrugged. "I was more focused on making sure you were safe."
I grabbed his face and pressed my lips to his. McGee instantly wrapped his arms around my waist as he kissed me back. We let out small laughs as our kiss made us back up and hit the side of the ambulance.
"I'm sorry," I whispered.
"What for?" McGee smiled at me.
"I just. . . You. . . Kissing you."
My face burned as McGee tightened his arms around me and pulled me closer. "I didn't mind," he whispered.
"Well," I said slowly, "if you want to continue, we should probably go somewhere our coworkers aren't."
* * * * *
With his hand holding mine, McGee led me into his apartment. He closed the door and locked it behind us. When he turned toward me, the tension in the room thickened. We stared at each other and let out small laughs.
"Sorry," he chuckled. "This is. . ."
"Awkward," I finished for him. "Considering the fact that it's planned."
"It fits us," McGee joked. I stepped closer to him and wrapped my arms around his neck.
"It oddly does," I whispered. Suddenly, my smile fell.
"What's wrong?" He asked as he tightened his arms around my waist.
"Doesn't this complicate things?" I asked. "You and me? Besides, Gibbs has a rule about never dating a co-worker."
"I know," he sighed. "He thinks it'll distract us from cases."
"He might be right," I shrugged, slowly letting go of him. I walked over and sat on his couch. He sat next to me as I continued, "Most of the time, when we're on a dangerous case, I'm not focused on getting the suspect or protecting myself. I'm focused on you."
"If it makes you feel better," McGee said as he reached over and grabbed my hand, "I'm more focused on you when we're in a dangerous situation. And, it might help if we're actually together."
"No, it wouldn't," I chuckled. "I'd be even more worried about you. And if something went wrong, nothing would stop me from doing something extremely stupid to get to you."
McGee leaned over and gently pushed his lips to mine. I smiled as I wrapped my arms around his neck and deepened the kiss. Without breaking the kiss, McGee laid us down on the couch, hovering over me.
Things escalated as we got more comfortable on the couch. I reached down and slowly pulled his shirt off. He broke the kiss and pulled mine over my head. We laid back on the couch with smirks on our faces. I grabbed his face and brought his lips back to mine. We were just about to take off our pants when the last thing both of us wanted to happen, happened.
"Probie! Open up!"
"Shit," McGee gasped, breaking the kiss.
"Is that. . ."
"DiNozzo," he said, climbing off of me. He stood up but stopped. "I hate to ask you this, Y/N, but will you hide in my bedroom? Maybe the bathroom?"
"Weird place," I chuckled as I stood up and pulled my shirt back on.
"Do you really want Tony to find you? On my couch? Half-naked?" He asked as he slowly checked me out.
"Fair enough," I laughed. I grabbed his face and pulled him back toward me. I kissed him and he instantly started kissing me back. Things instantly started getting heavy.
"Stop playing your game, Elf Lord, and open the door!" Tony yelled from outside.
Tim let out an annoyed groan as he broke the kiss. I playfully kissed his nose before locking myself in his bathroom. From my hiding spot, I could hear Tim answering the door.
"You're alive!" Tony yelled.
"Yeah, I'm alive," McGee sighed. "What do you want, Tony?"
"I need your advice," Tony sighed. I could hear him walk in and it sounded like he was heading towards the couch.
"What kind of advice?" McGee asked.
"Dating."
"Since when do you come to me for dating advice?"
"Well," he sighed, "the woman I'm interested in doesn't like handsome, smart agents like me. She's more interested in nerdy, awkward agents like you."
"Wow," McGee sighed. "I don't know whether to be flattered or offended."
"How can I get Y/N to go out with me?"
"Me?" I mumbled under my breath.
"Wait," McGee stuttered, "Y/N's the girl you want to ask out?"
"Yeah," Tony said like it wasn't a big deal.
"Since when do you have feelings for Y/N?" McGee asked, still stuttering. "I thought you would never date a coworker."
"I know," Tony shrugged, "but there's something. . . different about her."
"Different how?"
"You know I like the chase," Tony smirked. "I could win her over. But how?"
I held my breath as I waited for McGee to say something. "What if. . . Is she even interested in you?"
"I could change that," Tony laughed.
"That's not. . ." McGee stuttered. "Do you know if she's single? What if. . . What if she has a boyfriend?"
"Does she have a boyfriend?" Tony asked.
"I think so," McGee stuttered. "I mean. . . She may have said something about a guy."
"Damn it," Tony sighed.
"What made you. . . Why now?" McGee asked.
"What do you mean?"
"Why are you suddenly interested in Y/N?" McGee clarified. "We've been working together for almost a year."
"There's nothing wrong with taking time to notice someone," Tony said, sounding like he had already lost interest in this conversation.
"Yeah but, when you notice someone, shouldn't it be instant?" McGee pushed. "You notice beautiful women right away. Are you saying you didn't notice how beautiful Y/N was when she first joined the team?"
"I noticed her Geek Levels, just like I did with you," Tony said. "It took me a while for that to wear off."
"Wow," I heard McGee sigh. "Tony, that's horrible. Y/N deserves someone who notices her beauty right away. Not after her Geek Levels wear off."
"Sorry," Tony said with absolutely no sympathy in his voice. "Why are you getting so touchy about this? It's not like she's here."
I couldn't hear the rest of their conversation. When I heard his bedroom door open, I finally came out of the bathroom.
"He's gone," McGee said as he shut the door behind him.
"Where were we?"
* * * * *
I was looking at my phone as I waited for the elevator. When it dinged and the door opened, I walked in. It was about to close when someone called for me to hold it. My stomach flipped when I saw McGee.
"Hey, you," I said, my face burning.
"Hey, you," he repeated back to me. He walked into the elevator and stood next to me.
"How was your weekend?" He asked when the elevator door closed.
"You know exactly how it was," I smirked. He looked over and we instantly smirked at each other.
"It was a pretty great weekend," he chuckled.
There was a small silence between the two of us that I had to break. "What now?" I whispered.
"I don't know," he sighed.
"I want. . ."
When I didn't continue, McGee reached over and flipped Gibbs's Shut-Off Switch.
"Tell me," McGee whispered as he reached over and grabbed my hands.
"I want this to turn into something," I admitted. "Something real. But I don't want to deal with everyone's reactions. I know we'll probably have to tell Gibbs but telling Tony would be like inviting him into the bedroom."
"Basically what almost happened this weekend," McGee tried to joke. "But if we tell Tony about you choosing me over him, that would give me so much to make fun of him for."
I pulled my hands out of his and flipped the elevator switch back on. He reached over and flipped it off.
"Y/N," he whispered, "I'm sorry. I really like you and want to see where this goes, too. If you want to keep it a secret, I'm fine with it. If you want to tell the team, I'm fine with that too. As long as I get to be with you."
He pulled me back into his chest and leaned down, pressing a kiss to my lips. I smiled as I wrapped my arms around his neck and deepened the kiss. We broke the kiss but stayed in each other's arms.
"We should probably turn the elevator back on."
"I know," McGee sighed. Neither one of us reached for the switch.
"I keep thinking about what you said to Tony," I whispered. "It was really sexy how you stood up for me."
"I couldn't have him talking about my girl like that."
I giggled when he reached down and squeezed my ass. I pushed him away and pointed my finger at him. "Agent McGee, that was Red Light behavior."
"So sorry, Agent Y/L/N," he smirked at me. "Won't happen again."
"Liar," I laughed. He sent me a wink as he leaned over and flipped the switch.
We walked to our desks like nothing happened in the elevator. As we started work, we kept sending each other smirks.
"Good morning!" Tony yelled as he walked in.
"What is wrong with you?" I asked. "Did someone put crazy sugar in your cereal this morning?"
"No," he elongated.
"Well," McGee said but I could see him hiding his smirk, "based on our conversation the other night, there shouldn't be an extra pep in your step."
Tony turned toward McGee but stopped. My eyes widened when he walked toward McGee and lowered so they were face to face.
"Wait a minute," he said slowly. "Did you. . . You had sex this weekend! Who's the girl, McRomeo?"
"Just a girl I met," he smirked at me over Tony's shoulder. Luckily, Tony didn't notice.
"Oh!" He yelled as he spun toward me. "Y/N, do you have a boyfriend?"
"Where the hell did that come from?" I asked, acting like I wasn't in McGee's room when they talked about me.
"Rumors," Tony quickly said.
"Well, not that it's any of your business," I sighed, "but yes, I'm dating someone."
"Really?" Tony smirked as he practically skipped over to my desk. "Where did you meet him? When did you meet him? How long have you been seeing him? Have you slept with him yet?"
"None of that is any of your business," I snapped. I got up and went to the breakroom. A few minutes later, McGee walked in.
"You okay?" He asked as he walked over to me.
"You were right about not letting them know," I sighed. "Especially Tony. It's none of his business. He's just a mouthy, egotistical, misogynist. And where the hell does he get off asking me if we've slept together yet?! I mean, sure we have but he doesn't need to know."
"Y/N," McGee closed the gap between us. "He doesn't know I'm the one you're dating. It's okay."
"But. . ."
"How about this," McGee gently cut me off, "tonight, if we don't have a case, you and I go on our first date?"
"As long as we don't get interrupted again."
"I'll lock the door."

◡̈⋆ʜᴇʟʟᴏ(●’◡’●)ノ bestie back at it again in your ask box 🕺💃 may I request yandere seventeen profiles please 🥺🤌 thank you (ㅅ˙³˙)♡mwah❣️
hi bestieee, apologise for the delay :p
tw / trigger warning: yandere themes, murder, blood, manipulation, possessiveness, jealousy, swearing, mentions of vomiting, reader gets called a slut, gaslighting, abuse, dead animals, man-handling, 18+ (sexual themes) - YIKES, this really has it all lmao
{Seventeen - yandere profiles}
S.Coups
yandere type: strict
S.Coups is strict with you, but although he can be violent he isn't very sadistic.
There's not much enjoyment in punishing you, it's just something he knows he has to do - to make sure you'd be molded into the perfect partner for him.
You'd be expected to follow strict rules and be on your best behaviour - he didn't tolerate any brattiness or disobedience.
With all of his demands, you'd end up with him being the only person left in your life. He was the only one you talked to, spent time with and saw during the day; which of course wasn't accidental on his part.
'' Don't test my patience, you know what will happen if you do '' he warned lowly, taking a few steps towards you.
You were cornered now, nowhere to run but into his arms. All the confidence you had just a minute ago came crashing down and you were getting ready to beg for him to be lenient on you - as he'd expect you to do.
Jeonghan
yandere type: sweet + manipulative
To you, he was the sweetest boyfriend you had ever had. No matter what, he was always there to take care of you.
Scraped your knees or hands from some minor injury? It didn't matter, he'd be there in seconds, cradling you and putting a plaster over the wound.
Had a bad day? Jeonghan would show up outside your work with a bouquet of flowers and a wide grin on his face, ready to take you on a long and romantic date.
Needed a ride? He would drive you, anywhere and any time.
As time would pass and he continued to hide underneath his perfectly crafted personality, you'd start to believe your boyfriend could do no wrong.
'' Do you know what a psycho your boyfriend really is? ''
Your stared down at your coworker that you had by chance stumbled upon in an alley on your way home from work. She was beaten up badly, blood dripped from her nose and she had a black eye.
'' My boyfriend? '' you scoffed in disbelief.
'' Why are you suddenly bringing him up? ''
'' He did this to me! ''
You left as soon as you heard that, thinking it was the most ridiculous lie you'd ever heard - and Jeonghan who was watching from the shadows, smirked proudly, ready to kill the girl once you'd left.
Joshua
yandere type: calculative
Joshua was far too dangerously smart for you - always being one step ahead and being a torture to deal with.
Overall he was sort of a classic yandere but it would be way harder to get away from him than others, near impossible. He knew you like the back of his hand; what you'd say next, what your fears were, what you liked and what would make you break.
But even though Joshua was smart, he didn't bother hiding his yandere side to you - he may be a psycho but he wasn't fake. Plus it would probably be too much of a nuisance if he had to put up an act in front of you all the time.
'' I'm going wether you like it or not, my friends are waiting for me ''
Your boyfriend tilted his head slightly, knowing he was sure to enjoy this spectacle you tried putting on now. He couldn't wait to see your brave face fall soon as he'd win, once again.
'' Oh really '' he drawled tauntingly making you halt your step.
'' Yes, really '' you spat back.
'' I don't think they'd be happy to see you since you were talking shit about them on social media '' he sighed innocently.
Rage burned inside of you as you ran up to him, fists clenched to your sides.
'' What the fuck did you do? ''
The corners of his lips curved upwards into an amused smile.
Jun
yandere type: delusional + aggressive
This man genuinely believes you are just as obsessed with him as he is with you.
And if you even thought about doing anything that would break his fantasy - think again. He will immediately become aggressive, and in some cases violent.
Before you were together, he would leave you sickeningly sweet love-notes as if you were already dating. They terrified you, which he observed, so he was sure not to mention that it was him that had left them.
If you managed to shatter his delusions once you were together, which would be incredibly hard, then he'd feel some sort of resentment towards you. But he wouldn't let you leave him anyway.
Jun accepted it.
'' Fine. If you don't love me now, that's okay '' you heaved a deep sigh of relief, getting ready to gather your things in his house.
However, you didn't get far as his next words made you freeze.
'' I'll make you love me ''
Hoshi
yandere type: possessive + clingy
Hoshi would be quite insecure and possessive over you, leading to him resorting to extreme clinginess to make you do whatever he wanted.
He feigned innocence and would even force tears out if he needed to. Whenever he heard that you were going out, anger started bubbling inside him. But he couldn't risk you seeing him as anything but a sweet and helpless boyfriend who just '' loved you so much ''. So he clenched his teeth every time and went out, ready to put on the best acting performance of his life.
It might've felt a bit humiliating in the moment, but as soon as your eyes would turn glossy as you'd hug him and cancel your plans, murmuring apologies to stop him from crying - it was all worth it.
'' Babe, it's been months since I've seen my friends '' it was getting hard to get your words out as you felt tears start to well up, like they always did when your boyfriend pulled this antic.
'' If I cancel again, they won't ask ever again and our friendship will probably end ''
He didn't answer. Only sniffles could be heard in the room which had now fallen silent. His eyes were red and puffy from crying for so long. It had been an hour now, way longer than what it usually took for you to give in.
Hoshi kept his anger underneath the surface, waiting patiently until you would say the magic words; only then could he finally relax.
'' I'm sorry '' you sighed, defeatedly.
There it is
Your boyfriend smirked into his hands that were hiding his face from you.
Wonwoo
yandere type: sadistic
The worst to deal with. He could be violent, but he preferred to watch you suffer without him having to lift a finger; it made him feel more accomplished somehow, boosting his ego in a sick and twisted way.
But since any and all kinds of suffering were of great amusement and pleasure to him, you'd experience physical violence too. It would often be after you'd done something to piss him off, something that needed a quick lesson.
His psychological tortures were more of just a side-quest for him. You probably hadn't even done anything wrong. But just the act of planning something meticulously and then watching you as you'd fall victim to it - felt so rewarding and addictive, he couldn't resist it.
So I guess you could say that bit was a hobby, one that came with him no matter how well behaved you were.
'' Didn't you like my gift? '' he tilted his head while a sinister smile crept up on his face.
You backed away from him, head shaking frantically as you felt bile coming up your throat at only the mention of that sick prank he had pulled on you.
'' Why not? ''
The box was still in view, its contents scattered due to you dropping it as soon as you took a peek inside. The dead rat's eyes stared back at you, almost looking eerily alive.
Woozi
yandere type: cold
Woozi would be the type to come off as cold or distant even though he didn't really mean to. It was just a bit hard for him to express his feelings. So he'd rather skip the awkwardness and just not voice his thoughts or opinions to you, ultimately making him a mystery.
It was hard for you to read him. He was locked up in his studio, writing and producing most of the day, which meant you barely saw him.
But when he'd come out, he didn't look like he had missed you; immediately he ordered you around, telling you to make both of you food.
While eating there was silence - no questions about your day, nothing about his and he would barely even glance at you.
It was all very confusing. For someone who claimed to be in love with you to the point of obsession, it sure looked like he just said that for a laugh now. Did you even act like a couple?
It felt more like a prisoner - guard, type of situation since he still barely let you go out. The only time he showed affection would be right before bed, when you couldn't see his flushed face in the dark.
'' Come here '' Woozi said sleepily.
You could hear the covers ruffle and assumed he had opened his arms to make room for you, so you slowly shuffled into his warm embrace.
You felt him breathe in your scent and relax, as if you were a sedative to him.
'' I love you '' he murmured into the crook of your neck.
'' I-I love you too '' you said, a bit confused.
DK
yandere type: stalker
Approaching you and actually getting into a relationship would be a difficult task for DK, who had only watched you from afar.
Yet the more he watched you - the more he knew that just stalking you wouldn't suffice. He wanted to be close to you, hold you and make you laugh, just like all those people around you that he had to get rid of.
He craved being the reason you'd smile while looking at your phone or the person that made your face twist in pleasure.
Being so in love with another person while they had no idea, or if they knew they still probably wouldn't reciprocate his feelings - made him feel something dark inside.
Once he'd reach that point he didn't care about all the sweet manipulation it would take for you to date him - because his self-esteem was so low that he believed you'd never accept him.
That's why he just took you one day.
'' This is your new home now '' Dokyeom crouched down to your level and pulled out the rag that was stuffed in your mouth.
He couldn't wait to hear your beautiful voice, finally speaking to him.
'' Who the fuck are you? '' you spat at him venomously, shooting daggers at him with your glaring eyes.
A frown appeared on his lips. Not exactly what he had expected.
'' Well work on that attitude, hm? '' he smiled.
Mingyu
yandere type: obsessive + jealous
Knows every little thing about you. It creeps you the fuck out because he won't reveal how he knows it.
Things from your childhood that only you knew or your friends and family knew; there wasn't a thing that was secret from him.
Of course he kept it a secret from you though. What would you think of him if you found out he would get crazy with extreme jealousy at times, and beat up anyone you had ever taken a picture with?
Searching them up on social media, never giving up even if it took weeks to find a specific person and then going to their homes or stalking them - just so he could beat them to the brink of death.
It was the only way he could get all that jealousy out.
Mingyu hated seeing you enjoy yourself if it wasn't with him. But he hated it even more when you made other people happy. That was meant for him, and him only!
'' Where did you go? ''
Your boyfriend froze in his steps at the sound of your voice. He could hear from the slight huskiness that you had just woken up.
A quick glance at the clock told him it was 4am, so you were probably just up for a glass of water. If he played it right, he might just be able to pull himself out of this.
'' Go? '' he sounded confused, looking at you as if you were crazy.
His eyebrows raised.
'' I didn't go anywhere ''
'' Oh...I thought '' you lost your train of thought and licked your lips, suddenly feeling like the confused one.
Maybe you were just imagining things after all...
The8
yandere type: violent + possessive
Prone to violent outbursts and it's hard to read him. He could have an extreme temper, especially if things didn't go his way - what he wanted you to understand was that things had to go his way, and he wouldn't accept it any other way.
You'd witnessed him lash out at people working close to him and whenever he did he was ruthless and violent, perhaps a bit sadistic too in the way his eyes glinted with burning passion inside.
That alone, was enough for you to be terrified of him when you two were alone. Any small thing could set him off so it was like walking on eggshells 24/7, which was exhausting.
Minghao secretly loved when you were too tired to care, making small mistakes that gave him an excuse to punish you. Arguing made him feel alive after all.
Most of the time, it was when you didn't feel like being rude to people trying to flirt with you or befriend you. You'd feel his burning eyes on you, even if you were across the room from him - because he hated people touching what was his.
'' You shouldn't have done that ''
Minghao's low voice would usually send alarm bells ringing inside your head on any normal day, but you had just had a long day and couldn't be bothered to put up with his childish act so you brushed it off - another mistake.
His lips formed a sour smile as he watched you with amusement.
'' Have you forgotten what I can be like? '' his fingers found your chin, forcing you to look straight into his eyes.
'' Maybe I have to remind you because it's been too long. You've become a spoiled little slut, going around eying other men ''
Finally you understood that you had fucked up, but it was late, way too late.
Seungkwan
yandere type: controlling
Seungkwan feels a need to be in control with you and your relationship. He's not exactly sure where this is coming from, but perhaps certain insecurities arise due to past relationships.
It turns into a bit of an addiction - he decides what you eat, when you shower or sleep, when you go out or what you wear.
But why? If he's not in control of every little thing in your life, he turns ballistic, thinking that you're gonna cheat or leave him, or some other insane thing.
Whenever Seungkwan feels like he's losing control, he'll take it out on you. Because, he's not quite sure how else to fix it. Punishing you for it always makes him feel better, but don't cry - it'll irritate him.
In the end, you're being treated like a doll more than a person but that's exactly the way he likes it. Perfect can't disappoint him in the end, right?
'' I look so stupid, babe please let me change '' you begged, eyes pleading to your boyfriend.
He looked very pleased however, letting you know it was falling to deaf ears.
'' No. You look good, trust me '' he came over to give you a peck, a small smirk decorating his lips.
You were covered from head to toe, wearing something quite childish and he knew that, but at least no one would try to hit on you now when you'd go out with your friends.
Vernon
yandere type: classic
Vernon is a classic yandere - you behave and he'll be generally kind to you, if you misbehave then...not so much.
It was a normal relationship for the most part, if you ignored his yandere tendencies that is. It would mostly present itself in jealousy and some control issues.
For example, he wouldn't stop you from going out. But when you did he needed constant text messages and at least one phone call. If you did that, he'd feel calm as he trusted you.
If you didn't, he'd storm right over with anger evident on his face as he'd forcefully drag you away while flashing a charming face to your friends, so they'd suspect nothing.
Then he'd spend hours punishing you in ways that would leave scars, to make sure you would never forget your mistake.
'' You deserve this '' he'd say, in an almost apologetic way before he'd slash your skin with his knife.
You were about to answer his text after putting off his calls, but you didn't want to interrupt the flowing conversation, of course that enraged him - next thing you knew, you were here in his basement again, getting punished.
You whimpered while looking at him through tearful eyes.
'' Say it ''
'' I deserve this '' you said weakly.
Dino
yandere type: clingy + unpredictable
Quite unpredictable too - he could he smiling one second and then be incredibly angry the next, without you knowing what you did wrong.
As soon as his smile would fade, you knew you were in danger - as he'd tend to get very violent when he was angry. Dino would man-handle the fuck out of you, just to prove a point that he was stronger than you and the one in '' control ''. He did this whenever he felt threatened, which was quite a lot.
'' Let's go home now '' your boyfriend suddenly uttered, making you turn around.
'' What? We just got here '' you protested.
You had gotten dressed up and everything for the occasion, it felt mildly irritating that he wanted to leave the party straight away.
'' I said- '' he stepped closer, teeth clenched '' We're going ''
You had to stop yourself from rolling your eyes or getting angry, that would only make the whole thing worse. Whatever he wanted, he got, not matter how obscure it was.
You weren't even sure what had set him off this time but it was better not even questioning it, just going with whatever he said, for your sanity and safety.

note, thank you to @antoineroussel for yet another amazing fic exchange! you rock! this fic is for bestie maleeha (@lam-ila). i decided to do grumpy-sunshine (inspired by keeley and roy from ted lasso) and second chance romance. grumpy-sunshine is also one of my fav tropes so i really hope you enjoy this! :) another note, breaking my own rule of not writing for players under 20, but i couldn't pass up the opportunity to write for my favorite slovak. last note, this fic is part of "the lover series", my series about 25 different kinds of relationships. this relationship falls under "second time around". check out this masterlist for more. pair, juraj slafkovsky x reader summary, juraj and y/n were... something some years ago. but that was done and over with. so when y/n comes back as a medical team member, juraj knows there's only so much time to avoid all his problems. warnings, juraj gets injured and i'm not trying to romanticize it. this is my best attempt at grumpy-sunshine, and idk how much of this it really is, but i tried. i tried to leave out as much angst as i could, but with a second-chance romance, there is bound to be some angst, but i promise it'll all lead to a happy ending, i promise! word count, 6869 words (literally the longest thing i’ve ever written on here)
(gif not mine)
You and Juraj had something. You weren't officially dating but you were more than friends. It didn't last too long but lasted long enough to leave an imprint on you. After a while, you started to think about him and it didn't hurt and you moved on with your life.
Juraj had done the same, but his moving on wasn't as progressive as yours. He was almost a shell of who he was before. He was once smiley but that all changed after your breakup.
You knew Juraj played hockey and knew he wanted to play in pro in the big leagues, you just didn't expect the big leagues to be in the same city as you.
You had been hired by the Canadiens a little before the season ended, so you had heard the rumors about Wright being drafted first, but when you watched the draft and watched Juraj, instead, walk across that stage first, you were just as shocked as everyone else was that arena.
On the first day of work, you had given yourself pep talk after pep talk in the mirror, while you were getting ready, in case you would run into Juraj.
For the majority of the day, you were in the clear. You had yet to run into him, but towards the afternoon was when more players started coming in for help.
Juraj was one of those players.
When he saw you, he froze. He stopped walking and just stared at you, like a creep. You turned around and stopped the conversation you were having when you locked eyes with him.
"Y/N?" Your coworker, Lorelei called your name, "You okay?" She followed your line of sight and saw you and Juraj having a staring contest.
"Uh, yeah." You blinked, turning back to Lorelei, "Can you excuse me?" She nodded, watching you walk away, over to Juraj, "...Hi." You let out a breath.
"Hi." He nodded, his voice curt and short, but then again, he was only saying one word.
"Can we talk?"
"Don't think there's anything to talk about." He shrugged.
"Come on, don't be like that."
"Be like what?"
"Can we just talk, Juraj?"
"We really don't have anything to talk about, Y/N." He told you, his tone so sharp it felt like it was stabbing you in the chest.
You picked up how much he really really did not want to talk to you, so you took it as your cue to not push him, "Right." You nodded, "Yeah, right." You walked past him, trying to hide the embarrassment you felt.
Right as you walk out, Arber walked up to him, "Who's she?"
"Ex," Juraj responded gruffly.
"Huh," Arber nodded, "Guessing you didn't end on the best terms?"
"You would be right."
"I gotta say, she looked pretty upset when she was leaving." Juraj simply ignored him.
-
"... and I gotta tell you, I was this close to just punching him in the face." Your date, Milo, laughed as he explained yet another story.
This date, so far, was not going very well.
Milo wasn't a bad guy, it was all you. You subconsciously kept comparing Milo to Juraj, and in that sense, they were both very different guys.
You listened to Milo talk for almost the entire night, and for that entire time, you spent it comparing two guys to each other.
"You okay? You've hardly touched your pasta." Milo pointed out.
"Yeah, I'm great." You plastered on a smile, pushing down the internal battle you were having, "Just really tired. Work." You shrugged.
"Work, right." He nodded, looking like he was ready to ask more questions, "You work where again?"
"I work for a hockey team." You answered, not wanting to start by saying you worked for one of the biggest hockey teams in Canada.
"The Canadiens?" He asked.
"Yeah, medical staff." You nodded.
"Wow." His eyes went wide as h sat back. in his seat. You could practically feel the questions he was gonna ask next, "Do you get free tickets?"
You deflated. It was always 'Do you get free tickets?' and 'Do you know so and so?'.
"I don't get free tickets." You shook your head, leaving out the discounted part.
"Have you met Caufield and Suzuki? Ooh, and the new draft? The Slovak?" He asked excitedly.
You resisted the urge to roll your eyes, "Yeah, I know them all."
"Wow, that is so cool!" He exclaimed, "I have like a million different questions to ask those guys."
The rest of your date was spent with you answering all of Milo's questions about your work, and usually, you would happy to answer questions about work but in this case, Milo didn't care about what you did for the team, he only cared about the team.

Walking on the treadmill was something you found relaxing. Exercise wasn't relaxing to you, but something about walking on the treadmill and just listening to music gave you peace.
You were so in your head, you didn't even realize that someone had started walking on the treadmill beside you and started talking to you. You only realized Arber was talking to you when he tapped you on the shoulder.
You nearly jumped out of your skin when you felt him tap you, "Whoa!"
"Sorry, didn't realize you couldn't hear me."
"Yeah, I listen to my music really loud." You took out your earbuds, "So, can I help you with something? Any injuries?"
"No, I just had some questions." He looked almost shy.
"Can't promise I'll have all the answers." You turned to him.
"You and Juraj..." You sighed, "Didn't expect that reaction." He chuckled.
"I don't know what Juraj told you,"
"Said you were exes and that was it."
"And that's all there is." You shrugged.
"No, come on, I saw your face when you walked out of the locker room the other day, and it was not a happy one."
"The end of our relationship wasn't the best." You furrowed your brows together, trying to find the words, "He wasn't there for me when I needed him. I was putting more effort into the relationship than he was."
"That doesn't sound like Juraj."
"And how long have you known him exactly?" You raised a brow. When he didn't respond, you nodded, "Exactly." Arber watched you and waited for you to continue, "He was a good guy at the beginning, really. He was great. But something changed." You explained.
"I'm sorry." He offered a sympathetic smile.
"Well, if that's all the questions you have..."
Arber got the message and took his leave. He stopped the treadmill, "Thanks."
"Glad I could help." You slipped your earbuds back in and continued your walk.
-
You were watching the game from the medical room. You were lying on the bed in the medbay with Lorelei, eating snacks and enjoying the game.
Everything happened so quickly. One minute Juraj was on the ice and the next he was slammed into the boards by one of the other guys.
The play kept going but Juraj wasn't getting up. You were on your feet, trying to get a better look at what was going on, but when everyone noticed he wasn't getting up, the while was blown and the main medic, your boss Matt, rushed onto the ice.
Matt bent down next to Juraj and was talking to him and you so wished you could've been out there, talking to him. After a lot of waiting, Juraj was helped to his feet, his arms slung over Matt's and a couple other players.
He was shuffled down the tunnel and you could hear the commotion as they got closer and closer to the med room.
They carried him into the room and set him on the bed. You tried to figure out what was going on, "What's wrong?" You asked Matt, fiddling with your necklace nervously.
"I don't know yet. He says his entire left leg hurts, so we're trying. to narrow down where it hurts first." Matt snapped on a pair of gloves as he pushed through the crowd of people surrounding the bed.
Matt started pushing down his leg to find the spot that hurt. He eventually got to Juraj's knee, and when he did, Juraj let out the most pained noise you'd ever heard him make.
They pulled all the padding away and saw that his knee was very dislocated, "Okay, there's our culprit." Matt sighed, running a gloved wrist across his sweaty forehead.
"All right, we're gonna pop it back into place, but it's gonna hurt, I'm not gonna lie." The paramedic in the room told him.
His eyes frantically searched the room and when he found yours, it was almost like he was begging you to hold his hand. And you couldn't deny him of that, so you made your way over and hand his hand.
"Okay, are you ready?" Juraj looked anything but ready, "All right, on the count of three." The paramedic nodded.
You looked over at Juraj and saw the nervous look written all over his face, "You're gonna be okay." You reassured, "Just... think of something else. Think of what you're gonna eat after this or your favorite candy."
"I can't." He shook his head, eyes watering at the pain.
"It's gonna be okay. I promise." You squeezed his hand, "My favorite is Milkyway." He was barely paying attention to as he gritted his teeth in pain. You were tempted to kiss his forehead or something, but that wasn't your job anymore. The most you could offer was your hand.
"One, two, three." Once she hit 3, she snapped his knee back into place. He cried out in pain, "All right, you're all done, Juraj." She announced, "Now we're going to take you to the hospital so you can get further accessed and we'll put a splint on there."
"When will I get to play?" Even with tears on his face, all he was worried about was playing hockey.
"Let's just worry about your getting your knee accessed then we'll worry about playing." The paramedic smiled, pulling up the rails on the gurney.
Your hand slipped from his and you watched them wheel him away, "He's gonna be okay." Lorelei told you, wrapping an arm around your shoulders. You took a deep breath, closed your eyes, and let Lorelei hug you.
-
After dislocating his knee, Juraj was out for almost 7 weeks, you didn't see much of him, but after he was cleared, it almost seemed like you were seeing him everywhere.
And it was intentional, on Juraj's part. After the accident, it was almost like a wake-up call.
Even though you weren't together, you showed up and were there for him in the medbay, holding his hand and reassuring him that everything was going to be okay.
During practice, you just so happen to be hanging by the bench with Lorelei, talking about your plans, "You sure you don't want to come out with us?" Juraj heard Lorelei ask as he made his way over to the bench to get some water.
"I'm fine, really." You insisted.
"All right, but next time, you're coming out with us."
"All right." You smiled. She walked back down the tunnel, but you sat down on the bench, watching practice.
"You should go out with them." Juraj voiced. As the words escape him, he wanted to hit himself. You turned to him, brows furrowed together, "Sorry, that was wrong."
"It was." You nodded, "But I want to know why you think that?"
"Because I know you, Y/N. You probably don't have many friends right now,"
"Okay, rude." You crossed your arms.
"But am I wrong?"
You hesitated, "No."
"See? So, go. Hang out with them. You'll have fun." He insisted.
"Why are you pushing this so hard? We don't like each other."
"Who said I didn't like you?" Juraj asked in a tone that made him sound offended.
"You did when you brushed me off the other day." You reminded him. You raised a brow when he stayed quiet, "I'll see you around, Juraj." You followed in Lorelei's footsteps and made your way back down the tunnel.
-
With Matt's secondhand medic being out with a cold, you were taking his place behind the bench. So, during the game, you were standing towards the entrance of the tunnel where the second medic usually would be.
"This your first time on the bench?" Cole Caufield asked.
"That obvious?"
"If your good at your job, you've got nothing to be worried about." He offered you a smile.
"Thanks." You nodded.
Juraj, who was sitting further down the bench, saw Cole talk to you. He saw you laugh at a joke Cole made, a total cliche. He looked away, closing his eyes and taking a deep breath.
"Not your girl." He muttered to himself in Slovakian so the guys sitting next to him assumed he was just giving himself a pep talk.
-
A couple of days later at practice, you were carrying some supplies to the medbay. Your headphones were in and you were in work mode. You happened to walk past the hallway where the locker room was and happened to make eye contact with Juraj.
He was entering the locker room post-practice. You were prepared to just ignore him and walk past him but he offered you a smile, and when you returned it, confused, he stopped in his tracks and made his way over to you instead.
You furrowed your brows together and set the boxes in your hands on the ground, taking out your earbuds, "Juraj." You greeted, "Hope you aren't injured."
"Nope, all good." He shook his head.
"Good." You nodded.
You stood in silence, bouncing on the balls of your feet as you waited for him to say something, "Is there anything else I can help you with?"
"I just... I wanted to say I had no right for talking to you like I did the other day." You were surprised and your face probably showed it, "So, I'm sorry."
You smiled softly, "Thanks. I appreciate it." He smiled in response before turning and heading back over to the locker room. You watched him, a smile on your face and for the first time in a while, Juraj was the cause of it.
-
Somehow you ended up working the medical staff booth at the Habs event. You were standing behind the table, watching as everyone passed by, seemingly having no interest in the medical staff.
You sighed for the umpteenth time, "Excuse me?" You heard a familiar voice and looked up, "Have you ever stitched up Suzuki?" Juraj joked.
You playfully rolled your eyes, "Not yet, but I have stitched up a few of the other guys, ya know, the nobodies." You joked. He nodded along, "Some rookie, Slav-Slafkovsky I think his name was." You laughed when his jaw dropped.
"A nobody? Really?"
"I'm just kidding. You aren't a nobody. You're somebody." You punched him softly in the shoulder from across the table.
"So, where are all the people? Why is your booth so empty?"
"Since you asked so kindly," You joked, "Captain Suzuki and Cole are doing a signing so everyone's probably over there. I'm surprised you aren't over there."
"Why would I be over there?"
"'Cause all your friends are over there and you'd get to take pictures and sign autographs." You shrugged.
"Well, I'm hanging out with a friend right now and I can sign autographs and take pictures from here."
"That's not really what this booth is for, but it's the thought that counts." He shrugged, "Also, we're friends?"
"Are we not?"
"I don't know it's just we don't really talk and on the off chance that we did talk, you were either brushing me off or apologizing."
"I thought we were friends."
"I don't know, I guess we can try to be."
You smiled. He smiled back.
-
Juraj had been replaying your conversation over and over in his head for almost 2 weeks before he finally gathered up the courage to talk to you again.
You and Lorelei were talking in the little dining hall in the arena. He approached your table and when Lorelei saw him approaching, she smirked before pushing her chair out and walking to the fridge, pretending to be busy.
You smiled at Juraj when he sat down next to you, "Hi."
"Hi." He looked nervous.
"Can I help you with something this fine afternoon, friend?" You asked, taking a bite of your sandwich.
"I've been thinking about our conversations for the past 2 weeks." He took a breath, "And I don't want our first conversation as real friends to be an apology, but I need to apologize to you for how our relationship ended." You nodded along cautiously.
"I was a horrible partner to you, and I can't go back in time and change things or stop what happened, but I can offer an apology."
You smiled softly, "I appreciate that. It means a lot." You reached over and grabbed his hand, "But now I think it's time for us to stop apologizing. Well, unless you do something crappy again."
He laughed, "All right, no more apologizing, unless I'm a jerk again."
"Starting now." You held out your hand.
"Now." He nodded, shaking your hand with a laugh.
-
"So, Juraj is doing his first post-practice media since his injury." Lorelei brought it up to you as you were cleaning the medbay.
"Is he?"
"Yeah, he is." She smirked, "Just wanted to let you know, ya know, just in case you want to skip out on me."
"I'm not gonna ditch you." You laughed, but paused, "Hypothetically..."
"Go." She didn't even let you finish.
You smiled before running out of the room and rushing to find the media room where Juraj would be. You stopped in the doorway, surprised that you found the space practically empty save for one reporter sitting in the back row.
Juraj had yet to come in, so you took a seat in the front row. When he did walk into the room, he froze briefly before making his way up to the table.
He locked eyes with you as you flashed him a smile, "Don't all raise your hands at once." He joked.
The man in the back raised his hand, and Juraj called on him, seeing as he was the only guy in the room. He asked his question, and Juraj gave a very "hockey player" response.
Then an awkward silence fell over the room, and Juraj waited for the reporter to ask a question. When he didn't, you quickly raised your hand. He looked surprised when he saw your hand shoot up.
Your arms were moving faster than your brain as you quickly tried to come up with a question, "Yes, in the front." He pointed to you, attempting to hide his shock.
"Yes, Juraj." You nodded, "Y/N Y/L/N with Canadiens Today." He smiled, "My question is what's your pregame meal?"
Juraj laughed, "I'm pretty basic. Pasta guy, maybe throw in some veggies if I'm feeling fun."
You got up from your seat and ran around to the row behind you and took a seat again, raising your hand again. He broke into a smile when he caught onto what you were doing, "Yes, you." He pointed to you.
This went on for a couple more questions. You switching sets and asking him a question. You knew this probably wouldn't get published out into the world, but the room was empty you were there, so you might as well ask the questions.
After media was over, the reporter walked out of the room, but you stayed. Juraj smiled at you, "Thank you for that. It was embarrassing as it was to walk into an empty room."
"We're friends. It's what friends are for." You shrugged, sending him a smile.
-
The Canadiens charity dinner/gala was an event you were looking forward to. Kirby had asked you to go, purely as a friend. He didn't have a date and you were friends.
"Do you want a drink?"
"Sure, thanks." You smiled.
Kirby headed over to the bar while you took in the decorations around the room, "You look nice." Juraj complimented as he approached you.
"Thanks." You smiled, looking back at the large lighting fixture hanging from the ceiling.
"So, you came with Dach?"
"He asked, I accepted." You shrugged.
"We could've gone together."
"You didn't ask." You raised a brow at him, "If you had asked, I would have said yes."
Juraj didn't respond, instead, he took in your words as Kirby made his way back over with your drinks in hand, "Hey, good to see you." Kirby greeted, handing you your drink.
"Yeah, you too." Juraj nodded his head, "I'm gonna go find my seat." Juraj turned and walked towards the tables, trying to find his name card.
You and Kirby followed in his footsteps and made your way over to the tables to find your own name tags. To your luck, you were seated at the same table as Juraj and a few of the other guys.
"What a fun coincidence." You laughed, taking your seat, Juraj on your left and Kirby on your right.
"Yeah." Juraj managed a laugh, one that didn't quite reach his eyes but you and everyone else at the table failed to realize.
Once everyone else got situated and seated at their tables, the event organizers gave a speech and a few other higher-up team members.
Eventually, the appetizer came out, and when you got a chance to look at what was on your plate, you stared at it, "Everything okay?" Kirby asked, noticing your intense staring competition with the olives and cherry tomatoes mixed in with the salad on the plate.
"Oh, yeah, all good." You nodded, "Not the biggest fan of olives and tomatoes." Juraj knew it was the understatement of the year. You absolutely hated both of them.
You pushed the olives and tomatoes to the side of your plate, trying not to make a scene. Juraj, without even thinking, reached over and scooped the two things off your plate and onto his.
You stared at him, watching him eat the olives and tomatoes from his own salad, "What're you doing?"
"You hate them." He shrugged as if it was nothing.
"Juraj..." You sighed.
"What? Were you gonna eat them?" He asked.
"No."
"Then why waste food?" He shrugged again. You laughed, shaking your head and reaching for your drink, rejoining the conversation.
Juraj felt almost like he had won. He made you smile and that was a win in his book.
-
You were slipping a shirt over your head when you heard a knock on your hotel room door. This was one of the first roadies you and Lorelei were given the "okay" from Matt to come.
You assumed it was Lorelei but when you opened it, you were surprised to find Juraj instead, "Oh." You halted in your steps.
"Hi." He stood in the doorway nervously.
"Hi." You smiled, "Gosh, you're shaking like a leaf. Are you okay? Are you cold?"
"Yeah, I'm fine." He nodded, "I was just-I came to ask you-I was wondering-"
"Juraj, geez, it's just me. Calm down, take a breath." You chuckled, watching him stutter over his words.
"Do you want to hang out with me today?" He finally spat out.
"Oh, I'm sorry, I already have plans." Everyone was given the day off so you and Lorelei were planning on checking out the city and being tourists.
"I talk to Lorelei already. She's spending the day with a few of the other guys."
"Wow, you really thought this through." You laughed, "What did you have planned?"
"Well, I've never been to Seattle before, so maybe we can start there?"
"Well, you're in luck, I've been before and I know all the best places."
"Great." You grabbed your bag, a jacket and your room key then stepped out into the hallway together.
You did all the touristy things with Juraj. You visited the Space Needle, visited Pike Place Market, and even got coffee from the first Starbucks.
You tried to convince him it was just overpriced Starbucks that you would have to wait in an hour-long line for, but he wanted the experience and who were you to deny him of that?
After spending the entire day exploring the city, you and Juraj sat down for dinner at a little lowkey restaurant, nothing fancy, "So, did you enjoy the Y/N Tour today?"
"I did. I'd give you 5 stars."
"Ah, thanks." You laughed, "What was your favorite part of today?"
"The Needle was fun."
"I figured it would be."
"Why is that?"
"'Cause it was my favorite too, and we like a lot of the same things." You answered, taking a bite of your sandwich.
He watched you while you watched the people outside the window. He smiled, taking a bite of his own sandwich as he followed your eyes and people-watched along with you.
Later that night, you and Juraj were walking back down the hallway toward your hotel room, "I'm glad you asked me to be your tour guide today."
"Yeah, well it was either you or Wifi, and don't tell him I told you this, but I think you're prettier than him." You laughed as you slid your room key into the lock.
"Well, goodnight, Juraj. I'll see you tomorrow." You smiled.
"See you tomorrow." He repeated, sending you a smile.
You closed the door and shucked off your jacket and bag. Right as you kicked off your shoes, there was a knock on your door. Your brows furrowed together as you made your way back over to the door.
"Did you forget something?"
"Yeah, I did." He nodded, "Can I kiss you?" You blinked like a fish, trying to comprehend what he said, "I would've just gone for it without asking, but you always tell me consent is important."
Your brain started working again, and you smiled, "Yeah, you can kiss me." You nodded. He leaned forward, cupping your cheek and kissing you. You smiled as you wrapped your arms around his waist, pulling him closer to you.
As you pulled away, you could see something in his eyes. It wasn't regret nor was it joy, he looked conflicted, "Are you okay?" You asked.
Instead of responding, he pushed your arms away and turned in the opposite direction, walking towards his hotel room. He left you standing there, confused.
-
The morning after the kiss, you tried to confront him during breakfast, but by the time you made it down for breakfast, he had already left for practice.
"So he kissed you and bailed?" Lorelei asked.
"Just walked away." You nodded.
"That's strange." She commented, "I'm not a betting woman, Y/N, but if I were, I would bet a whole paycheck that Juraj is still in love with you."
You shook your head with a roll of your eyes, "That's not true."
"Oh, it absolutely is. and your denying it is silly. I know you still like him, maybe even love him."
"I don't love him." You denied once again.
"All right, you don't." She shrugged.
-
Juraj had been avoiding you. He didn't know how to confront you. He kissed you. It had been a good kiss, great even. But for some reason, he ran off.
He knew he had to confront you and admit how he really felt, but the one thing he was scared of more than anything was being rejected. He could handle you hating him and not talking to him and being upset with him, but he could not physically handle you rejecting him.
He had tried on numerous occasions to approach you. He approached you but when opened his mouth, nothing came out. Another time, he, once again, opened his mouth to say something, but someone else called your name and before you noticed him, you were being pulled in another direction.
When he saw you walking down the hall, he knew he had to say something, "Y/N." He called out.
You looked up from your phone and when you saw it was him, you were ready to turn around and walk in the opposite direction, "No, wait, please." He begged.
You slowly turned around to face him, and slid your hands into your pockets, "Can I talk to you?"
"Isn't that what we're doing right now?" He winced at the way the sentence had come out, but he knew he deserved it. After all, he kissed you and then ran off.
"Right, I just wanted to clarify something." You nodded, "I'm sorry for what I did. I didn't mean to run off like that, I swear. I just, I think my legs moved faster than my brain." You were confused and your face must've shown it.
"What I'm trying to say is I wanted to kiss you, and I had it all planned out in my head. I was gonna kiss you, and I was gonna confess my feelings for you, but then I ran because I was scared you wouldn't feel the same way. Still am, by the way. Scared you won't feel the same."
"Juraj..."
"I like you, Y/N, and boy does it feel good to say that. Because I've been holding that in for so long. Longer than I'd like to admit." You simply stared at him, eyes wide.
"Say something." He begged. But you couldn't. You were shocked. He actually liked you. He frowned when you didn't respond, only stare at him. He took your silence as his answer and once again, turned and left you alone again.
-
You sat by yourself in the arena, trying to understand what just happened. You were an artist, but you could draw the look on Juraj's face when you didn't say anything, and it hurt that your brain didn't move fast enough to say anything.
No one was in the arena except for the Zamboni which was going over the ice, but you were sitting in the nosebleeds section so you would be left alone by anyone on the ice.
"What're you doing up here by yourself?" You turned around to see Arber standing a few seats away.
"Thinking."
"Hmm." He hummed, "You and Juraj look the same. You're both moping, which means something happened, so spill."
"I messed up." You told him in a tone that let Arber know that it was more than a little mistake. He sat down in the chair next to you. You filled him in on what happened and he sat there and listened, he didn't interrupt you.
"You know what you have to do?" You looked over at him, "You gotta tell him how you feel. You're both hurting. It's so clear you both still have feelings for each other, and the only way to stop the hurting is to admit the truth. Tell him how you feel, Y/N. What's stopping you?"
"You didn't see his face. He was heartbroken."
"Then go." He told you.
-
You stared at his door, hesitating. After a few mental pep talks, you finally raised your hand to knock on his door. You heard someone making their way to the door, and when it opened, instead of Juraj, you were met with his roommate.
"Are you here for Juraj?"
"Yeah." You nodded. His roommate moved out of the way just enough for you to enter. When you walked in, you looked around.
"He's in his room." He pointed down the hall to Juraj's room. You knocked on his door and waited for a response.
"Come in." You opened the door and saw him laying in his bed, looking just as miserable as you, "What're you doing here?"
"You didn't let me say anything."
"I did. I waited."
"Then that's my fault. I was trying to figure out what to say, but I couldn't get it out."
He stared at you, trying to decipher what was happening, "Are you here to reject me again?"
"No, I wanted to talk to you about something else." You stepped into his room, shutting the door behind you, "I talked with Arber, who gave me some good advice."
"Did he now?"
"Juraj," You took a breath, "I'm sorry I didn't say anything earlier. But I'm here now, and I want to say I feel the same way about you." He raised a brow, "I like you, too. Maybe even love you, but I'm not sure about that yet."
He stared at you the same way you had stared at him when he proclaimed his feelings for you, "I probably always have and always will. Somewhere along the way, I forgot about that because I was blinded by the hurt and pain you caused, but seeing you again and spending time with you, it was like all those feelings came rushing back like a waterfall."
He smiled as he listened to you. He could tell you meant it as he watched you, "You don't have to love me right now 'cause I'll love enough for the both of us."
He jumped out of bed and wrapped his arms around you, hugging you tightly, "I do love you." He spoke into your hair before kissing your head. You smiled, letting out a happy and relieved sigh as you hugged him back, relishing the feeling of having his arms back around you.
-
"Special delivery!" Lorelei announced walking into the medbay with a package in her hands, "Special delivery for one Mrs. Y/N Slafkovsky." She joked.
"Okay, you can stop with the wedding jokes. We aren't married, we're just dating. We're taking things slow."
"I know, but it's still funny." She set the box down on the table. You looked over at her, "What? Are you gonna open it?"
You laughed, grabbing a pair of scissors and opening the box. You smiled happily when you pulled out all the bubble wrap, revealing heaps and heaps of Milkyway bars.
"What is it?" Lorelei asked.
"Milkyway." You pulled out a bar and unwrapped it, taking a bite.
-
"Come on, as my girlfriend you have to wear my jersey."
"I already have a jersey."
"Yeah, with some other guy's name on it."
"I'll be sure to tell your captain he's just another guy." You joked.
"Please?" He begged.
"I'm kidding. Of course, I'll wear it." You grabbed it from him and set it aside. You wrapped your arms around his waist, looking up at him, "Be great."
"Always am." He wrapped his arms around your shoulders.
"Score a goal for me."
"Who do you think I am? That would make me the worst boyfriend in the world. With you in the crowd? Now I've gotta do it."
"I'm in the crowd more often than you'd think." You reminded him, "Behind the bench and all."
"But this is different." He pointed out.
"All right, whatever you say." You smiled, pushing yourself up. He got the picture and leaned down, kissing you.
During warm-ups, he skated past multiple times, slammed into the glass a few times, and right before he skated off the ice, he tossed a puck over the glass to you and winked.
You smiled, slipping into your pocket, "You're making me feel really lonely." Lorelei joked.
"Sorry." You laughed.
"Don't you dare apologize." She nudged you softly.
-
Halfway through the 3rd period, the Habs were up by 2 and things looked like they were only going up from there. You watched as Jake Evans passed it to Anderson who passed it back to Jake. He skated down the ice, looking for someone to pass to.
Juraj hopped off the bench after switching with another player. Jake passed it over to Juraj, who skated around the Yotes player and tricked the goalie.
He looked like he was going left, but instead shot from the right. You jumped out of your seat and hugged Lorelei as the goal horn sounded.
Juraj was pulled into hugs by his teammates as he celebrate. Before he skated over to the bench, he pointed over to you. When you locked eyes, he blew you a kiss, dedicating his goal to you.
You laughed as you felt eyes from everywhere on you. The celly replayed as he skated past you and pointed to you and blew you a kiss.
"I'm calling that the Y/N goal." Lorelei joked, nudging you with her arm softly.
-
When you woke up that morning, you felt like everything was wrong. That could have partly been because you woke up late and accidentally pressed stop instead of snooze. And when you got to work, it felt like things were only going worse.
So, during your lunch break, you found yourself on the treadmill, trying to not cry as the stress of your day got to you. You walked at the slowest speed as you closed your eyes and tried to breathe.
"Hey, I've been looking for you all day." Juraj joined you on the treadmill next to you. He was walking at a faster pace as he talked about his day.
He was telling you a funny story about how practice was going when he looked over and noticed you weren't paying attention, "Hey, you okay?"
You opened your eyes, "No, everything is bad."
"What do you mean?"
"Today has not been good, and I've been trying to turn it around, but it's not working."
"Do you want to keep talking about it?" You shook your head, "Are you gonna cry?" You nodded, "All right." He stopped his treadmill and turned yours off.
You stood at the end of the treadmill as he wrapped you in a hug, letting you cry out all the emotions from the day. He didn't say anything, he only rubbed your back and let you cry, and placed a few kisses on your head.
-
About a month after your first game, you were sitting in a different spot in the arena, but it was still out of your price range if you were to buy your own ticket.
You watched Juraj get into a fight then watched him get ejected. The fight wasn't anything bad and it wasn't any different than any other fight, but something was wrong with him, you could see it.
You gathered your stuff up and made your way down to the locker room. You peeked into the locker room and saw him sitting in his stall, looking as dejected as ever.
He heard your footsteps walking into the room, then looked down, "You aren't supposed to be in here during the game." You ignored him and approached him, "Did you hear me? You aren't supposed to be here."
You sat down next to him and reached for his hand. You didn't say anything, but when you slipped your hand into his, his body deflated. and he melted into you.
You didn't say anything as you wrapped an arm around his shoulders. He leaned down and leaned his head on your shoulder as his body molded into yours.
And that was that. Neither of you said anything. You only sat in the locker room, Juraj clinging to you in silence.
-
You and Juraj were sitting in different rooms in your apartment. He came over after practice and the two of you kind of just stayed in separate rooms doing your own thing.
You made your way out of your bedroom and into the kitchen but as you passed the living room, you saw Juraj sprawled out on your couch. His eyes were closed but you could tell he wasn't asleep.
You set your mug down on the table next to the couch and sat down next to him. You ran your hands up his arm, then leaned down and kissed his cheek.
"You finally done?"
"Almost. One more paragraph then I'm all yours for the rest of the night." He wrapped his arms around you and pulled you down to lay on his chest, "One more paragraph, come on." You laughed.
"That's too much." He whined, closing his eyes as if he were going to fall asleep.
"No, come on. I'm almost done!" You begged. He only pretended to snore. You sighed, laying your head on his chest as you gave in to your fate.
You both eventually fell asleep and when you. woke up, it was much late. You woke up before him and looked up at him tiredly, smiling.
"Creep." He muttered as he opened his eyes and saw you staring at him. You rolled your eyes.
He yawned as he began waking up, "Don't you think it's crazy that almost a year ago you couldn't even be in the same room as me."
"Crazy." He hummed.
"Sometimes good things really do take time." You smiled.
"Well, then I'm glad I waited." He leaned down, kissing you softly.

Hong Joshua x female reader / 589 words / fluff
Warnings: None
⊱ ──────────────────────── ⊰
You had one rule at work that you swore you would never break. Do not date coworkers. Every time you heard about coworkers dating one another, it always ended up with a messy break up with someone having to quit their job, and that was something you didn’t want to deal with. Then Joshua came into your life while you were working at the local coffee shop near your apartment. Everything about him screamed boyfriend material. His handsome looks, his cute smile, his charming personality, and his gentlemen like skills. You had been working with him for over two months now and still, there wasn’t a negative flaw you could find in him. Yet you couldn’t date him.
It was almost an unsaid thing between the two of you as every shift you worked together, both of you would tease and flirt with one another nonstop. Some customers even commented on how cute your relationship was. You hated to admit that you had a crush on him, but until one of you quit, you couldn’t do anything about it.
“Hi cutie, did you miss me?” Joshua chuckled as he clocked in for his shift, making you roll your eyes at him.
“In your dreams, Josh,” You giggled with a small blush on your cheeks as you tried your best to focus on the current drink you were making.
“How did you know?” He teased back, making the both of you laugh from his quick witted comebacks, “When are you going to let me take you out on a date? I feel like I’ve been more than obvious that I think you're pretty,” His question made your eyes grow wide as you handed out the drink to the customer before turning back to face him.
“It’s not that I don’t want to go out on a date with you, it’s just,” You stopped, realizing how stupid it may sound to him as you bit your lip lightly.
“You don’t date coworkers? Is that it?” He guessed correctly as you nodded your head.
“I just don’t think it’s a smart idea to date a coworker since a countless amount of bad things could happen,” You slowly got quieter as you went on with your sentence, beginning to play with your fingers.
Joshua nodded his head in understanding before walking over to the manager, “Hey, I quit!” He randomly announced, taking off his apron and clocking out of the register as your eyes grew wide with surprise.
Your mouth flew open to protest his actions, but nothing seemed to follow as your throat felt dry from his bold move. He walked around the counter with a smile on his face to order a drink as you followed him.
“Excuse me miss, I’d like an iced Americano and to take you out on a date this Saturday. What do you say?” He smirked as he saw a small grin beginning to spread across your face.
“It would be my pleasure sir. Would you like room for any cream in that Americano?” You chuckled at his irresistible charming attitude.
“You know my order so well,” Joshua chuckled as he couldn’t keep his eyes off you.
“Hmm I wonder why,” You both continued to giggle as you returned back to him with his drink, “I can’t wait to see what you have planned for our date.”
Joshua smirked at you with a small chuckle before taking a sip of his coffee, “Don’t worry, I’ve had it planned out since the day I first met you.”

Fool Me Twice | [6/6]
Part 6 is finally here! 🎉 (6/6 feels so surreal to write.) I think this will be the last installment out of this mini-arc, but I definitely want to write more of these two in the future (+ have a lot very loosely planned, if I can ever get around to writing it).
Part 6 ft. fake dating, cold-induced exhaustion, and questionable decisions
You can read part 1 [here]! The other parts are listed in my [fic masterlist].
—
Yves isn’t sure what he expects.
He wakes up early to shovel snow from the front porch, makes breakfast, weighs his options over breakfast, and then—maybe ill-advisedly—texts Vincent before he heads out for work.
Y: tell me you got some rest last night!
V: Of course
Y: more than 3 hours?
V: Do you even need to ask?
Y: i’m sure no one would mind if you took the day off Y: give someone else a chance to be the most irreplaceable person in the room for a day! Y: i swear i’ve never seen you take a sick day
V: No need. I’m feeling a lot better today
It’s said with such conviction that Yves thinks he has no reason to question it. It isn’t like Vincent to be outright dishonest, after all. If he’s claiming to be feeling better, he must be at least on the mend.
It’s for that reason that Yves resists the urge to go out of his way to check on him. The office building is spacious enough that neither of them has a reason to cross paths, usually, except potentially at lunch.
And either way, it’s nothing Yves should have to concern himself with—Vincent can take care of himself. He can, and he will, Yves thinks. Perhaps in the future Yves will be able to take him out for a proper dinner, as a way of showing his thanks. But until then, things will be back as they’ve always been, barring the unusual circumstances over the last few days. Yves will go back to regarding Vincent as nothing more than a colleague—as someone he cares about to the appropriate extent, as someone whose life he’s in only tangentially.
And Vincent doesn’t need anyone—least of all, Yves—to look out for him. Yves likes his coworkers, but he knows better than to confuse civility with friendliness. He and Vincent certainly aren’t close enough to be properly considered friends.
It’s with that reassurance that he goes about work for the first few hours of the day. It’s easy, as always, to fall into the flow of it. He’s a little more tired than usual—he finds himself stifling a yawn into one hand during the morning team meeting—but not quite tired enough to be nodding off, at the very least.
Work always feels longer when he’s tired, though it’s never too long of a stretch until lunch. As a general rule, he likes to tackle the more difficult work in the morning, after he’s had his morning coffee, and save the more structured, less demanding busywork for after lunch. It’s interesting, but it’s work nonetheless, and all in all, it goes by especially slowly. He very pointedly does not allow his mind to wander. Halfway through his morning, Laurent shows him some of the ridiculous emails he’s gotten from a particularly standoffish client, and Cara comes over to peek over his shoulder and laugh with him about Laurent’s businesslike, unwavering civility, and the morning goes by faster after that.
It’s only when he’s a few steps away from the break room that he hears—or, rather, overhears—
“I’m sorry,” someone says, from the other side of the door. It takes him a moment to recognize the voice for who it is—the new hire. Angelie. Right. It’s not that he means to eavesdrop, but he thinks it’s strange that she feels the need to apologize at all. It sounds like the kind of apology that she really, sincerely means—not one given out of thinly-veiled obligation, not one exchanged only as a business courtesy, and that makes him pause.
He wonders what it is that she thinks she’s done wrong. Maybe if he sticks around, he can reassure her afterwards—he knows how intimidating it can be to be new. “When I asked you for help, I didn’t realize how much work it’d be.”
“It’s— it’s ndo problem, snf-!” Whoever she’s talking to says. As if Yves doesn’t know immediately; as if Yves hasn’t been thinking—or rather, trying not to think—about said person all morning. “I’m used to it.”
“Still, if I had known how long it’d take—”
“It’s really okay, Angelie.”
“You’ve been such a big help to me. I didn’t know until Charlotte told me you’ve been here all morning trying to—”
“It’s fine. This isn’t any sort of special circumstance. I’mb - snf-! - frequently here early. J-just a second—” For a moment, Yves wonders if they’ve lowered their voices to speak more quietly, but then the reason for the lull in the conversation becomes evident. Vincent coughs—harshly enough that, even through the wall, it sounds almost certainly painful. When he speaks up again, his voice sounds noticeably hoarser than before. “Sorry. I— coughcough - I’m happy to be - snf-! - of assistance, really.”
“Thank you,” Angelie says. “I honestly don’t know what I would do without you. I think I’m good from here—but um, if you don’t mind me asking…”
She hesitates. For some reason Yves can’t quite parse, she sounds uncertain.
“What is it?” Vincent says.
“Um, are you okay?”
All of a sudden, the apology makes sense.
“What?”
“You— seem—”
“I’m fine,” Vincent says.
“Okay.” A beat. “Do you need cough drops? I have a whole bag at my desk. I always get sick when I’m in new places, so—it hasn’t happened yet, I mean, but I wanted to be prepared in case it does. If you want any, I have a ton to spare.”
Yves hears the static whir of the coffee machine as it comes to life.
“I appreciate the offer, but I’m okay,” Vincent says. “Though, you should - hH… hh… hH-hih’GKT-! snf-!” The sneeze doesn’t sound relieving in the least, and the sniffle which follows seems as good as useless. “You should keep your distance.”
“Well, the offer still stands if you end up needing them later,” Angelie says, sounding uncertain. “Thanks again for all the help.”
“It’s no problem. If you run into any issues later, don’t be afraid to reach out.”
He hears footsteps, receding—Angelie is going back to work, he realizes. And, judging by the sound of the coffee machine, Vincent is still here, making his usual morning espresso.
Yves really shouldn’t interrupt. He should turn around and head back to his office desk. Really, it’s none of his business if Vincent is okay. It’s none of his business whether or not Vincent got to the office early today, as usual, despite working so late last night. It’s none of his business whether or not Vincent is feeling well enough to be here in the first place. Perhaps he should go back to his desk—perhaps he doesn’t need coffee as imminently as he’d thought.
Against all logic, he finds himself on the other side of the break room door.
At the sound of the door opening, Vincent looks up. Yves catalogs his appearance in silence. His hair is as neat as usual, his jacket ironed, his tie perfectly straight, but there’s an unusual flush high on his cheekbones, a paleness to his complexion.
“Yves,” Vincent says.
His voice practically cracks on the syllable, as if he’s just a few conversations away from losing his voice. He sounds so distinctly unwell, Yves realizes.
And he looks exhausted. The dark circles under his eyes are even more prominent than before, and when he lifts his elbow to his face to muffle a few harsh, breathless coughs into his sleeve, there’s an uncharacteristic sluggishness to the motion of it. When he lowers his arm, there’s a thin sheen of water to his eyes—from the sheer force of the coughing fit, perhaps. His eyes are a little red-rimmed.
Vincent sniffles, though the sound is so congested that Yves isn’t sure it’s made any difference at all. Past them, the coffee machine beeps to signal that it’s done.
Yves pushes the door shut behind him. His mouth feels dry.
“I wadted to - snf-! - properly thank you for last ndight,” Vincent starts. “I realize that—” His eyes water, and he blinks, reaching up with one hand to rub his nose. “That you - hH-hHih…” He veers away from Yves, steepling both his hands over his face as his shoulders jerk forward with a forceful, “hihH’GKT’ShhuH!” And then, just a few moments later, another - “hH… hiIH… HIIh’NGKTshHh!-!” The sneezes—even stifled—sound loud enough to grate on his throat. It’s no wonder his voice sounds off. “I realize that you ended up staying a lot later than you planned to.”
Yves stares at him. Is this really what Vincent thinks he wants to hear?
“And I apologize if I came across as…” Yves sees the moment Vincent’s gaze unfocuses. He sees the way Vincent tenses, cupping a hand over his face for another, “HIh’Gktt! Hh… hHh… hiih—!”
The look of ticklish desperation—his eyebrows creased, his expression slack—doesn’t let up, even as his breath settles. Vincent rubs his nose with the bridge of his index finger, sniffling again, as if to coax out the sneeze that his body seems so adamant on denying him—
“hiHH-’IksSHuhh! … hHIH… Hh… hh-hIih—HIih-TSCHhuuh! snf-!” A soft, almost imperceptible exhale. “Excuse mbe, I...” His voice practically gives out on that note, and he takes a halting step back, veering aside with another fit of coughs.
“You said you were feeling better,” Yves all but snaps, when he’s done.
Vincent looks off to the side. “I’m not as tired as I was yesterday,” he says. “So, in that regard.”
He turns aside to lift the coffee mug from where it sits on the machine. There’s a slight tremor to his hand when he picks it up, before he steadies it—indicative of one too many cups of coffee, perhaps—or, knowing Vincent, probably a lot more than that.
“In that regard?” Yves repeats. “So you’re feeling worse off in every other regard?”
He doesn’t mean for it to come out so accusatory, but a part of him feels—betrayed, maybe. By the dishonesty of Vincent’s response, by the intensity of his own worry.
“That’s not what I meant.”
Vincent looks like he’s about to say something more, but then he’s hurriedly setting his coffee down, raising both hands to his face, again, for—
“hiIH… HIIH’GK-t! Hh! Hih… HIih’IZSCHhuh!” A single, breathless, “Sorry,” and then - “hhH-! snf-…!” Yves watches his expression crumple as he jerks forward, his eyes watering. “hiIH-NGkt-! Hh…. HHh… hiIH-!... HH‘IIKTCHhuhH-!”
The sneezing fit is punctuated by another round of coughing, which all but confirms that all this sneezing is making Vincent lose his voice faster.
Yves passes him a coffee napkin. Vincent eyes it for a moment before taking it, gingerly.
“You shouldn’t be here,” Yves says. “You’re clearly unwell.”
“I’m fine. I had a couple calls this morning.”
“You didn’t think to cancel?”
“They were urgent.”
“And what do you think our clients would think if they see that you’re clearly coming down with something?”
“I took medicine to suppress the symptoms,” Vincent says, glancing off to the side. “A few hours ago. It’s - coughcough - just starting to wear off.”
“I don’t get it,” Yves says, feeling the frustration build in his chest. “You’re not going to recover quickly if you keep pushing yourself.”
“It’s just a cold. There’s nothing I can do but wait it out.”
“There are plenty of things you could do. You could take a sick day, for one. You could head home early. You could even get more than a few hours of sleep, instead of—” Yves looks toward the coffee mug in his hands. “—insisting on taking cold medicine and keeping yourself awake with caffeine. Just how many cups of coffee have you already had this morning?”
“I’m fine, Yves.
“As you’ve said,” Yves says, a little bitterly. “Though, even if you insist on lying to everyone else, at least you should be honest to yourself.”
Vincent is quiet for a moment.
When he speaks, his voice is carefully even. “Is that why you’re so upset?”
“What?”
“It’s because I told you I was feeling better.”
Yves supposes that’s part of it. But another part of him is frustrated—with himself, first and foremost, for putting Vincent in this situation in the first place, for inconveniencing someone he’s already indebted to, only to have to watch from the sidelines, guiltily, with no way to help. Back then—with Erika, with crew, with university; with the cheating, and the aftermath; with the apartment hunting, with the start of his job, with everything else—Yves has always disliked the revelation that there’s nothing he can do.
“You’re free to lie to me,” he says. “I know we’re not close. But I care about you, which is why I asked.”
“I don’t think you understand.” Vincent takes a measured sip from his coffee. His hand trembles slightly when he lifts the cup, and Yves has the sudden urge to take it from his hands. Vincent sighs. “Do you know why I told you I was feeling better?”
That seems obvious enough. “Because you wanted me to stop asking.”
“Because I don’t want it to be anyone else’s problem,” Vincent snaps. “Especially not yours.”
Before Yves has the time to fully process that statement, Vincent continues. “I don’t want my assignments to be work on someone else’s plate. I don’t want my health to be someone else’s problem. You already stayed so late last night—you went out of your way to get me dinner. How could I possibly ask any more of you?”
The sentence seems to grate unpleasantly against his throat for the way that he winces a little, turning aside to cough harshly into his fist. “I’m not feeling well today, but I knew you’d be worried if I told you. And how could I knowingly take up more of your time? After everything you’ve done for me already?”
His sentence tapers off into another coughing fit, which he emerges from with another wince. It must hurt his throat to speak.
“I wasn’t being honest when you asked me how I was feeling,” Vincent says—finally an admission, but hearing it now doesn’t make Yves feel better at all. “But it would be selfish of me to make this any more of your problem than it already is.”
In lieu of responding, Yves takes the coffee cup from his hands and sets it down, gingerly, on the countertop. He takes another mug—unwraps an herbal tea bag from the cabinets, while he’s at it—and fills it to the brim with warm water, for the tea to steep. He stirs in a spoonful of honey. Steam rises from the cup in white wisps, and with it, the faint smell of chamomile.
When the tea is ready, he holds the cup by the rims, turning the handle outwards for Vincent to take. Vincent regards it with confusion, his eyebrows furrowing slightly, and for a moment, Yves wonders if he should clarify that it’s meant for him.
But then he takes it. Watching him lift the cup to take a sip—seeing the brief, miniscule flash of relief as his throat dips with a swallow—makes something tighten in Yves’s chest.
It takes everything in him not to cross his arms outright.
“You are really a hypocrite,” he says.
“What?”
“You helped Angelie, just yesterday. You helped me when I was just starting out. Both of us made our work—and our training, and our inexperience—your problem.” For all the things Yves has asked of him—for all the things he’s seen others ask of him, however inordinate—Vincent has never once complained.
“You’re always taking on things for other people, because you know you’re capable of doing them,” Yves says. “How is it any different if it’s you?”
Vincent doesn’t say anything, to that.
“You’re harder on yourself than you are on anyone else,” Yves says, with a sigh. “Even if you tell me not to worry, I’m still going to worry about you. But it’s not a burden to me.”
Something in Vincent’s expression stills.
“I know I can’t change your mind,” Yves says. “But you should get some rest—whenever you can. You’ve already done more than enough, I promise. I—or anyone else on the team—can take up anything that can’t wait until you’re feeling better.”
Vincent turns away, his shoulders trembling on an inhale, and Yves barely squeezes in a preemptive “Bless you,” before—
“Hh… hiIH’EKkTSHuhH! Hh… hh… HiIH’IIKKtsCHuhH! snf-! ”
He lifts his free hand up to cover, his eyes squeezing shut as he muffles the sneezes into his wrist. It’s a miracle that the tea doesn’t spill, Yves thinks.
When he emerges, a little teary-eyed, sniffling, he really does look tired. He says, “I don’t understand why you care so much.”
Isn’t it obvious? Yves opens his mouth to say just as much, only…
…Only, Vincent looks genuinely stricken.
“I like you,” Yves says, because it’s the truth. Because he wants, suddenly, for Vincent to know it. “Do I need any other reason?”
“That seems… impossibly simple.” “It is,” Yves says. For a moment, he wants to tell Vincent just exactly how simple it is, just how easy Vincent is to like.
“I didn’t intend to worry you,” Vincent says, looking off to the side. “I didn’t expect for anyone to be worried in the first place.”
Yves—who frequently worries about people, whether they want him to or not—laughs. “If you don’t want me to worry about you, you should hurry up and get better.”
At this, Vincent nods, contemplative. “Duly noted.”
“Which means getting some proper rest.”
“I’ll consider it.”
(Yves half expects that to be a lie. But when he gets to work the next morning, Vincent’s desk is unoccupied, for once, and there’s a small packet of cough drops leaned up against his desktop monitor—so he had asked Angelie for them yesterday, after all—and a stack of files set off neatly to the side, marked For Later.
Yves supposes he can deal with that.)

ummmm uh okay lemme think.... the s1 juvie scene (CLASSIC!!!), all their scenes working at the kash n grab together, mickey finding ian and taking him home, club kiss, like all of South Side Rules pre-sammi fucking everything up, dock scene, literally all of their s7 scenes tbh, prison reunion scene, "I WANNA BE WITH YOU" "you dont get to be," mickey wasting his break getting noodles in the food court for ian instead of making ian get his own lunch, fiance shenanigans, "i only make toast for husbands with jobs," STEALING THE AMBULANCE AND MICKEY GETTING SO TURNED ON THEY IMMEDIATELY HAVE TO FUCK AND MICKEYS KNEES BUCKLES WHEN IAN PUSHES HIM AGAINST THE AMBULANCE, coworker husband shenanigans, "youre such a fucking barbarian" "thank you☺️," being SOOOO cute at their anniversary party together. so honestly all of their scenes
i love all the deleted scenes i literally need the show editors to go to prison for what theyve done. i especially love the original scripts for the s5 deleted sex scene/ians dream and their s5 breakup. favorite headcanons are autistic!mickey, casual D/s dynamics, not-so-casual D/s dynamics, 🏳️⚧️trans gallavich🏳️⚧️, hobby artist!mickey, ian becoming the new vee of their neighborhood (ghetto nurse!ian), annoyingly clingy codependent!gallavich being gross in front of everyone, s6 canon divergence where mickey doesn't go to prison bc wtaf was that, s5 canon divergence with no breakup bc that literally made no sense
ummm i love liam hes the true golden child. mandy. uh ethel i would've LOVED to see more of, and the other milkovich siblings. sheila. karen was a REALLY complex character that never really got more than surface-level analysis from the show writers. debbie and her journey as a child obviously struggling with bpd. i do like carl turning his life around and kinda fulfilling many of the dreams ian had growing up. i kinda wish they did more with kev than just "haha kentucky appalachian guy is stupid" like that whole family reunion arc of his was so fucking weird and honestly embarrassing of the writers. also we..... never really learn about vee's family? theres a whole episode dedicated to meeting kevs stereotypical family, and vee gets.....becoming a believer in the american voting system??? and of course svetlana. missed opportunity after missed opportunity with her character - but hey at least they didnt kill her off like isidora wanted⁉️⁉️🥴
really really wish the writers gave a fuck about showing ian coming to terms with his trauma of being groomed and abused. he never learns that what he experienced was abuse. i feel like if caleb can call mickey abusive, then surely ian wouldve mentioned something about literally any other relationship hes had and caleb or trevor wouldve been neen like "uhhh you should see a therapist about that thats really super fucked up that you were victimized like that as a CHILD"
ohhhh the fic tropes. my #1 is always bdsm i am a bdsm gallavich truther until i DIE!!!! um i like canon divergence fics (sometimes). domestic fics. post-s11 married life. learning to grow together as a couple after being off-and-on for like a decade, autistic!mickey!!!! trans!mickey and t4t gallavich!!!! aus where ian and mickey are actually dating starting s1-3 and are out to the gallagher/mandy. uncle!gallavich shenanigans. taking liam on adventures shenanigans
OK SO. FIRST AND FOREMOST I WOULD FIX THE FUCKED UP JUDICIAL SYSTEM IN SHAMELESS fionas/mickeys/ians court shit was so fucking unrealistic and BAD. how the FUCK did fiona get like 60 days in jail + house arrest for possession of a schedule ii drug and attempted manslaughter AND STILL KEPT CUSTODY OF THE KIDS.
literally what the FUCK did mickey get charged with. did he plea? what the fuck kind of plea is 16 years when the person you assaulted ALSO ASSAULTED YOU and is also a COMPLETELY unreliable witness/victim. youre telling me he wouldnt take his chances in court? as if debbie wouldnt be the perfect witness to prove his INNOCENCE? and bianca was dead and frank wouldnt even give half a fuck to testify to seeing mickey lock sammi in the trailer. literally no proof that ever happened. no proof he drugged sammi because it was FAR too late to test her blood and see how much of each drug she had in her system. just her testimony that she drank soda then fell asleep lmao. any defense lawyer would have an easy time getting him acquitted entirely, at most getting a refusal to comply with officers and disturbing the peace for running from sammi and then trying to kick her when the cops showed up to arrest them
literally what the fuck is ians trial. HE PLEADS NOT GUILTY BY REASON OF INSANITY (WHICH NO LAWYER WOULD EVER DO BECAUSE OFC HE WOULD BE FOUND GUILTY WHEN HE CHOSE TO STOP TAKING HIS MEDS) AND IS FOUND GUILTY. OF ARSON. A CLASS X FELONY IN ILLINOIS. IN THE COMMISSION OF ANOTHER FELONY (KIDNAPPING.) AND HE GETS LIKE 2 YEARS IN PRISON YOUVE GOTTA BE FUCKING KIDDING ME. he could have gotten LIFE for that shit in the real world. i hate this shows pisspoor attempt at a legal system SOOOOO BAD. i stand by my belief that it wouldve made much more sense if he pled guilty and got put in the Chicago-Read Mental Health Center for mentally ill offenders. like he literally thought he was the gay Messiah what do you mean hes in a regular prison. plus it would've been much more interesting to see mickey in this environment - IF everything up to s9 was kept canon. otherwise he would only be able to visit ian like in s5, unless he found a way to get himself committed ?? idk it just makes much more sense than ian in regular prison
the attendees of their wedding. who the hell were those people. people from ians club ing days?? trevors friends???? i mean maybe. i assume sandy just went to every gay bar and passed out flyers saying there was a big gay wedding. it would've made much more sense if mickeys siblings were there especially mandy but what the hell ever. it's not like iggy literally has multiple scenes where he's supportive of mickey being gay and dating ian. WHATEVER. IT'S NOT LIKE THE GAY JESUS FOLLOWERS SHOULDNT HAVE EVEN BEEN THERE AT ALL SINCE THEYRE SHOWN LITERALLY ABANDONING IAN AFTER HIS ARREST AND IT WOULDVE MADE MORE SENSE FOR THE MILKOVICH BROTHERS TO BE OUTSIDE TO KEEP TERRY OUT. FUCKING WHATEVER I GUESS!!!
throw away the shitty homophobic gay man writer and let those 2 bi ladies write s11 gallavich. they were the only ones who wrote decent storylines. fr that gay guy needed to be fired SO BAD i can't believe he wrote the dumbass "who's the wife/bottom/submissive of our relationship" 11x3 plot AND the 11x7 orgy. HE SUCKS SO BADDD??? get rid of that stupid shit. give me more of ian and mickey in the growing pains of their relationship looking for jobs and dealing with the death of terry and trying to find common ground of their plans for the future and mickey being stubborn and scared without being "accidentally" an egregious stereotype of autistic people. LET HIM STIM AND GO NONVERBAL AND LET IAN LEARN TO GIVE MICKEY HIS SPACE WHEN HE'S OVERWHELMED GOOD LORD

03:12 (Simon "Ghost" Riley x Reader)
Not my GIF
A/N: Yo! so its been a hot minuet since i wrote anything so here's a really short Ghost story because i have no self control and love to many characters. Sorry for any mistakes!
Genre: Fluff
Warnings: Ghost is probably OOC, crying, mentions of kidnapping, Ghost struggles with his feelings, hints of smut
Summary: With too much to be said, Ghost can't sleep and confided in the person who is the cause of his peace and his conflict.
Ghost really should’ve been asleep. He should’ve been asleep hours ago. But he wasn’t. He couldn’t sleep. His head was too full of unspoken thoughts. So many things brought into the light in his mind after the events of their latest mission. So many things that had been suppressing for years finally bubbled their way back to the surface.
At this point he knew he wouldn’t be able to sleep. So with a groan, he stood and made his way out to the porch of the safe house where his teammate was sat on watch.
“Wanna swap out?” He asked. His deep voice made her jump a little in the silence of the night. She looked up at him and gave him a gentle smile.
“I’m okay. But I’d be grateful for the company” she shifted to the side to allow him to sit beside her. He took up the seat, the dated wooden floorboards creaking under his weight.
There was a gentle silence over the two of them. Which did little good for Ghost. The silence allowed for his thoughts to get louder. Screaming at him to tell her the truth. Screaming at him to break all his personal rules, all his personal protocols. To rip off the bandaid, spill the beans. To let it out once and for all.
Ghost turned his head a little to look at her side profile.
(Y/N) “Wolfgang” (L/N). One of the greatest soldiers he had ever met. The greatest sniper he had ever met. The greatest person he had ever met. There was a very very long mental list of ways he would describe her. All of which he would never speak aloud to anyone. Out of pride or fear of rejection, he couldn’t tell. They both blended into one at some point.
Besides, they were teammates. Coworkers. Dare he say, friends. And Ghost was happy with that. But he wanted more from her. He wanted everything. He wanted…her.
Ghost blinked himself back to earth. She was so beautiful. The moonlight reflected perfectly off her skin. The stars were nothing compared to the brightness in her eyes. The gentle smile on her face could make anyone forget about the horrors of war. She always seemed so at peace. Like she had no inner conflicts.
Which was why he could never say anything to her. Conflict was all he knew. It was all he had. He was even at war with himself over her. He would shatter her peace and bring his inner horror upon her. He couldn’t bring himself to ruin her tranquility.
“I wanted to ask if you were okay” she said softly. Her voice lighting a warning fire within him. “After the way the mission went”
Ghost blinked again and looked at the frosted grass in front of them. “Seeming as you were the one who was taken, don’t you think I should be asking you that?”
“No. Because I know you. I know that you will blame yourself for what happened because you led the mission. And you don’t need to”
“I’m afraid that’s one thing I won’t be able to shake. So long as I’m leading, the responsibility of the team is on my shoulders”
Wolfgang sighed a little “another thing I know is that you are the most stubborn person I know. But you know you can always share the weight of responsibility with me”
“You’ve got enough shit to deal with without me piling my shit on top. I’m fine Wolfie. Trust me”
“With my life” she smiled “as long as you trust me with yours”
“I trust you with everything. It’s myself I don’t around you”
“What?”
Ghost coughed and shifted slightly. The floorboards creaking again giving away his sudden tension. Piece of shit house.
“You don’t trust yourself around me?”
Ghost said nothing. He felt he had already said enough. Too much.
Fucking bloody hell. You’re a fucking idiot, Simon.
“Ghost?” He asked as she laid her hand on his knee. He immediately tensed and glared at her hand. It was like fire on bare skin. Burning her brand into him.
Noticing this, she moved her hand back. “S-Sorry. I just…sorry” she shuffled away from him. The gap between them growing larger in both reality and within him. He had to real her back. He couldn’t lose her.
“(Y/N)” he said suddenly. He had never used her first name before. Her code name suited her perfectly. But he felt it appropriate to use her name here. For what he was about to say. If he didn’t fuck it up.
The use of her name certainly caught her attention. Her eyes met his.
“Today…I discovered my biggest fear” he began slowly. His voice low and somewhat quiet. “I’ve never thought myself fearless. But I never knew I could feel fear like it. And I don’t know how to deal with it. And if I tell you…”
“I won’t think of you any differently” she assured him quickly.
“Yes you will. Because my biggest fear of you”
Her face dropped and his heart stopped. Her eyes glassed over, now so bright he could’ve sworn he was looking at the stars of heaven.
“W-What?” Her voice had become shaky. His heart was now set in overdrive. Banging against his chest as if trying to escape and jump to her. That was where his heart belonged anyway.
“I love you” he admitted. “And that scares me. Scares the shit outta me. I’ve never loved someone before. Not like this. I thought I’d lost ya. Thought I’d have to live with the regret of never having told ya the truth. I was so scared that I’d lost you. I would’ve done anything to get you back. My biggest fear is losing you. My biggest fear is livin’ in a world that your not in. And I want you to know that that ain’t nothing in this fucking world I wouldn’t do for you”
A minute past and she didn’t say anything. Nor did she move or show any signs that she had listened to a damn word he said.
“I have lost you, haven’t I?. Fuck. I’m such a fucking idiot. Should’ve kept my bloody mouth shut and dealt with it my fucking self. I’m so sorry Wolfie” he pushed himself up to his feet.
“No. Simon. Wait” she leaned forwards and grabbed his arm. He spun around and saw tears streaming from her eyes. Like little rivers of moonlight.
“Say it again” she pleaded “say you love me again. Please”
“I love you” he said. It felt easier the second time to say it. But the swell in his chest remained.
Her eyes flicked between his and then to his mask. She reached out cautious hands to the hem of the black fabric and rolled it up past his lips.
Ghost grabbed his mask and pulled it all the way off and dropped it to the floor. She had never seen his face before. But she liked it. She loved it.
He placed his hands on her cheeks and she mirrored this. “I love you, (Y/N)” he said again.
“I love you, Simon” she almost sobbed. She wrapped her arms around his neck and smashed her lips into his. His hands dropped to her waist and held onto her tightly as he kissed her with years worth of pent up feelings for her.
Years worth of fear and conflict left him. Floating out of his body with every movement of her lips on his. “I love you” she whispered repeatedly against his lips. Her hands pushing into his hair, tugging at the dirty blonde strands.
He groaned and bit her bottom lips. Her mouth opened in a gasp and he didn’t hesitate pushing his tongue into her mouth.
Ghost began to push her backwards until her back hit the wall of the house. His hands dragged up her body and found her own. He linked his fingers with hers and held her hands above her head.
He pulled his tongue out of her mouth and kissed down her jaw to her neck where he sucked and bit at her skin.
“Simon” she whimpered. She let out a breathless moan at the feeling of his warm steady breath in her skin. The simple act of him breathing on her made her legs shake and the point between her thighs burn and soak.
His lips brushed their way back up her neck and to her ear. He let out a few slow breaths before he spoke again. His voice low and almost like a growl “I want all of you”.
Her eyes rolled to the back of her head and she could’ve sworn she came right there and then. She had been without sex for so long that she feared one simple touch to her heated core from Simon and she would simply die. Of course, there are worse ways to go than being pleasured to death by the man you love.
“I want you too” she breathed “I want you so badly”.
“Then,” he let go of her hands and grabbed her ass before effortlessly lifting her off the ground. Her legs wrapped around his waist and her arms around his neck. “Let me show just how much I love you”

Chapter 1: The Happy Pizzeria
Contents (Warnings/Mild spoilers): Lynette meets an average employee from the Happy Pizzeria!
Wordcount: 4,200+
Side note: This will contain experimental writing, first person (Lynette's view) will be implemented alongside third person for the two other essential characters, (mostly) Alexander and (occasionally) Drake. For those third person moments all their text will be italicized and their thoughts in Bold. There will be other characters I write in third person for in the future using this method too. Thank you and enjoy!
'Do giants work here?'
__________________________________________
Day 0 - (Sept. 7th, Wednesday)
Lynette
"Shoot, I used the wrong spell!"
I ran wide circles around the Banshee to avoid its wails while frantically scrolling through my spell list to find the right one. "Wait, please!" I whimpered quietly.
The sudden "livin' la vida loca" ring startled me out of my game. I swiftly paused it and fumbled to answer my phone.
I answered, "Hey, what's up, Charletta?" I adverted my eyes from my coworkers giggling about my ringtone.
Her cheer echoed through the receiver. "Lyn, are you off today?"
I pinched my phone between my ear and neck to resume my game.
"Nope, Tuesday and Thursday are my days off, so I can think about starting school." My enthusiasm waned. Can I handle going back to school? I don't want to fail again.
"I should have called yesterday. Sorry, Lyn!"
"You're fine," I said. "I'm on break for at least another five minutes. We can chat."
"A truly privileged rarity." The guilt-ridden impact of her sarcastic joke made me sink deeper into the plastic seat. I should have called more.
"I'm sorry, I had tons of homework over the summer for my GED, and I've been working double shifts at this job."
"It wasn't a knock at you," she huffed, "Wicks has kept me up to date with your diligent work." She sympathetically sighed. "I'm glad to hear your voice, at least." Her tone dipped in evident dissatisfaction. "I worry for you guys. You and Wicks have a knack for finding trouble."
"Don't I know it." I chuckled, partly because of what I said and partly because I beat the Banshee. I heard another sigh. "We'll be okay, I promise."
"You better be. My wedding is two months away!"
I jumped in my seat, "right." I paused and put the console into sleep mode. "I gotta request that day off."
"DAY!" She exclaimed. "You're the maid of honor. You need to be here for at least 4 days. If not the whole week!"
I brace myself for a lecture.
"You know work won't let me do that." I looked around at the few people in the small breakroom. Everyone was nose-deep in their phone or eating lunch. "I was already out for a week with food poisoning." I glanced at the T.V. playing a fast food-related jingle to mock me. I smirked, intentionally about to joke with Charletta, "I mean, how was I supposed to know eating out of a dumpster would be a bad idea?"
"Are you crazy?!" She exclaimed, followed by a fast fluster of incomprehensible Spanish. Although I learned a lot from Madre and the others, I was unable to understand it when spoken so quickly.
"I'm kidding, Charletta. It was that small restaurant called "Ducky's Dining". I'm sure Wicks told you." I grumbled under my breath, "My aches were so bad I slept most of that week."
I waited for a response. She was quiet.
"Hello? Charletta?"
"Still here!"
Did I say something wrong?
She continued on, "you're going to have to convince your work. You have to be here for the rehearsal and the bachelorette party, and you have to meet my fiancé and his family, and Mom and Dad really want to see you-" She cut herself off. "Basically, you'll have to be here, maid of honor rules."
I smiled, shrugged, and moved the phone to face me as if we were on a video call. "Wicks could pull off the maid of honor position for me."
She laughed, "Lyn, I can't have him looking better in that dress than I do in mine!"
I laughed too. "Okay, fine. I'll ask and see what they tell me."
Her ecstatic chirps returned, "if you can only get the day…I guess I can go over rehearsal with you, but I expect you to materialize as soon as the clock strikes 12:00 a.m. that Friday!"
I talked with my sister a little longer before I said goodbye. I figured work would make me jump through hoops to go since it had been two months since I called off that week.
I put away my console, adjusted my uniform, and put on the best smile I could. As long as I work hard, it'll be fine.
…
Alexander
He dreaded the store—its populated space overtook his focus.
He rarely went out unless he had to, all made possible by his recent birthday present. A young cat chewed through his cables while he was in the shower, including his HDMI cable that he needed to keep himself and his guests entertained tonight. She's lucky I unplug electronics when I'm done with them.
Upon entering, the influx of pleasant smells tempted him to pursue them. I'm so glad I ate earlier, he thought. He considered himself lucky; otherwise, his instincts would be impossible to ignore.
Dismissing the few tempting people he passed, he went to the electronic section.
"I have a party soon. Can't you be quieter?" He grumbled audibly at his body. I'm not caving.
He held his breath in defiance.
Not that it mattered because his stomach immediately tightened. It was a painful twist, something he was used to but not this fast. Alexander's hunger pains never struck this fast.
His gaze intensified, narrowing its focus on the red-headed worker. His slower stride moved toward her. Sneaking up, as he was used to, only being interrupted by the laughing older customer she was helping.
He yanked his body to the next aisle, trembling as he crouched to stay below the short aisle separator.
Stunned, Alexander pressed his hand into his growling abdomen. What the hell is going on?!!
Through shaky breaths, he reluctantly inhaled her sweet scent. It's so potent.
He closed his eyes to calm down, and it worsened his problem.
Alexander reopened them and strove to focus on the headphones locked behind the glass panels. He even pushed up his black-rim glasses to read the labels better. Ignore her, damn it.
Though, his ears were keenly attuned to her friendly chatter with the older gentlemen in the next aisle.
Ignoring his begging stomach didn't soothe it—he was grateful the persistent cries were quiet enough that only he could hear them.
Despite knowing better, he waited until the customer left, stood up, then walked into the aisle. He also expected her to leave, yet her rolling cart was stopped in the section he needed to go, and she was stocking at the HDMI cables.
He maintained a small distance between her and himself and stooped down.
He searched the cords she stocked, about to ask her for one, but his eyes slowly drifted to her body.
He didn't take in any of her delicate features—his mind solely fixated on her size. She's so tiny.
He swallowed hard.
Her obnoxious and vexing aroma told his body that she'd end his hunger, an assurance that didn't feel tangible until this very moment.
"Do you need this?" Her voice snapped him back to reality.
Shit. He flinched and sprang up.
She followed his rise and stood up too. She held out the cheapest HDMI cable to him. He gulped back his temptation to grab and consume her.
Don't do it.
He adjusted his glasses nervously and spoke. "Yeah. I didn't want to interrupt your flow."
He reached out to get the cable, and his fingers lightly touched hers.
"You're fine, sir. I'm stocking them anyway," she flashed a cheery smile, and he ignored it. "Is there anything else I can help you with?"
"Uh..." His thoughts only contained the urge to satisfy his craving, so he couldn't coherently answer her.
FUCK.
He fought to jerk his stare away.
I'm not doing this now. Alexander was busy—no matter how much his body commanded him.
Standing there silently, he struggled and caught the logo on her uniform. It reminded him of a particular clause at his workplace. I don't need that.
His body said otherwise in its desperation. It compelled him to speak to ensure he'd see the redhead again. "Do you like your job?"
Her eagerness for his response melted into confusion. It baffled her long enough for Alexander to regain his composure as he towered over the girl barely approaching his sternum.
"It's work," she said, gathering more thoughts. "Most of the employees are friendly, there are good and bad days like anywhere else, and though more pay would be nice, I can't complain." Her smile was restored. "Were you asking because you wanted to work here too?"
Alexander dug into his front pants pocket and got his wallet. "No." He picked through it to find the company card he received years ago. What should I say? He internally griped. What does that flirty bastard tell them? "My work would benefit from having someone cheerful and friendly to help run the registers," he offered her the partially creased card. "It's a pizzeria not that far from here."
She smirked at the cartoon pizza slice that had a speech bubble that said, "The Happy Pizzeria" on it. He was glad the writing was still legible. If you're doing this, keep going.
He looked over her head to temporarily control his domineering thoughts. "It pays $100 an hour, offers medical the day you're hired, plenty of va-"
"$100 AN HOUR!" Her voice squeaked. She tilted back to the card, embarrassingly, "S-Sorry. Continue."
The two of them fiddled with their respective objects, her with the card and him with the HDMI cable.
"Plenty of vacation time, dental, and vision." He finished.
She looked up. "They'd pay me that much to run a register. Why?"
"The owner's a retired multi-millionaire who one day decided his passion was making pizza." Alexander muttered, "He doesn't care much about money anymore."
"And there are spots open?"
"He only accepts interviews from employee recommendations."
In awe, she pointed to herself, "And you're recommending me?"
I am, aren't I? His eyes fell back on her, and he lurched slightly. Stupidly, "yes."
She kept looking up at him and the card, "I'll look into it. Thank you!"
Alexander ran his hand through his short, still relatively damp, blonde hair, to keep his hand from reaching out. "y-yeah. Call the number on the card later this afternoon. I'll put in a recommendation for, um......"
"Lynette," she responded.
He nodded. "Got it." His legs heavy and reluctant, refusing to take a step unless he was toward her. He sheepishly chuckled, "I'm Alexander." He haplessly put out a hand to shake. Don't pull her in.
Her soft, small one met his larger one. His nearly encompassed hers. I have the party in an hour, body please.
He quickly shook her hand, successfully pulled back, and turned around. "Hope to see you hired soon, Lynette."
He clutched the HDMI cord to his chest and got as far as he could. His painfully aching body harshly reminded him of how unbearable it was to be so close to humans.
It was the longest and most arduous conversation he had with one by himself in years. He talked to customers at the pizzeria, but that didn't require thinking.
And, for some reason, among all the humans he had ever met, she was by far the worst for him to be around.
...
Lynette
Once I got home, I studied the card. That was such a weird interaction. She threw herself back on her couch. What are the odds that some stranger invited me to join a job like that as soon as I'm struggling to start school ? I got out my laptop, and checked over the site. It looked legit with a 4.7 star rating from thousands of reviews. Those pizza’s look so good!
I looked over the number on the card again, then pulled my phone out. My finger hovered over the number pad. I'll get Wicks’s opinion first. I hoped he'd answer while away on his business trip.
He did with a few huffs. “What's up?”
"Is it a bad time?" I asked.
"NO, no—they had me getting everyone coffee, so I was running around doing that.”
I didn't let my mind wander and tried to disregard his exasperated breaths and harsh construction like noises in the background.
"Okay. Well, when I was at work today, I got offered a better job at a pizzeria. The pay the guy was telling me about seems outrageous! It's-"
There was another bang from his side of the phone.
"Wicks! Are you sure this isn't a bad time, where are you?"
"Don't worry, just-." His voice strained. "Trying to carry some boxes!"
I pursed my lips. I could hear the lie hidden behind his nervous chuckle.
I sucked it up and spoke back fast, "nevermind, tell you later. I LOVE YOU. PLEASE BE SAFE!"
"LENTILS!"
I hung up the phone to let him deal with his business.
I clutched it with one hand and looked at the card. This could be my perfect opportunity, don't squander it.
I called the number, feeling the vultures known as anxiety picking at my fears.
As it rang and rang, a female finally answered.
"Hello, this is Sandra with the Happy Pizzeria office line. How can I help you?"
"Hi, my name is Lynette Wayland. I'm calling because I talked to one of your employees earlier today, Alexander-" I don't know his last name, shoot.
She interjected, "Ah, yes. Alexander didn't have your last name when we spoke about your possible call." She cleared her throat. "We're currently hiring for a cashier position. Have you worked at a pizzeria or any fast food establishment before?"
"I'm currently working in the electronics area at a store, which requires me to occasionally work the register…." I corrected my fumble. "Food experience, no." I didn't think to mention my month working at Mickey D's in high school.
She was quiet for a moment, then continued, "any cashiering experience is better than none. Plus, you'll learn everything else you need on the job. And sorry if I go silent, I'm writing down your information for our owner."
I gave her my date of birth, spelled out my name, and a few other things, not my address or social security. It was quicker than expected.
"So, how soon can you be here?"
"Huh?"
"Apologies if you're not busy at the moment; Mr. Clemente is still in, and he can see you for a face-to-face interview."
I looked down at my dirty work clothes and patted my curly hair that needed a wash.
"Miss Wayland?"
"Yes, I can come in for an interview in the next hour!” I hope I don't sound too desperate.
"Great!" She said, "I hope to see you soon, have a pleasant drive here!" She hung up.
I hurried off the phone to the shower, brushed my teeth, and sent the address to Wicks in case. I was glad it was a twenty-minute drive from our apartment.
I soon recognized it, it was hard to miss the giant smiling pizza icon inviting people in.
I'm surprised Wicks has never recommended this place, he loves the weird ones. I thought.
When I parked, it was lively, and probably one of the biggest pizzerias or restaurants in general that I had ever seen. It was the size of a two story grocery store. I wonder if it has an arcade.
I got to the door, and the lovely cheesy and meaty smells blessed me. If I get this job, it's gonna suck, smelling like pizza all day. I got hungry the further inside I went. Whether I get this job or not I should get one of their pizzas.
The floor was a warm, inviting mix of wood and stone, with benches and tables offering cozy nooks and crannies to sit and chat. Somehow, it was cleaner than I expected, as each place to rest looked as inviting as the next. I held a giddy glee seeing them.
My vision drifted to the walls while I waited in line. They were adorned with vibrant paintings and photographs of ingredients, and pizza-themed landscapes. Their soft jazz playing overhead helped sell me even more. This is such a nice place. I swayed back and forth. I have to get this job. I ran hypothetical questions in my head, specifically what might be asked during the interview. Oh, interview! I’m so dumb I didn’t bring my resume!
"Ma'am?" The cashier's voice called.
I perked up, "oh gosh, sorry. I'm Lynette here for an interview?"
He raised a brow, then nodded, "Yes. Right back here." He gestured to the space to slide behind the counter. He pointed down the hall through the kitchen. "Down that way, it'll be the hallway past the kitchen on your left. There is an office at the end marked "Mr. Clemente.""
"Thank you," I said with a bow of my head.
"No problem, and good luck." He said to me as I passed. The kitchen looked as clean as the front and was HUGE. Do giants work here? I sighed. Then again, most people are giants to me.
I briefly saw another person who looked my age rushing back with an older woman in the kitchen.
I got to the hall he mentioned, then went down toward the office. I passed two other doors on the way across from each other. One said infirmary, and the other said record keeping.
It's good for them to have an infirmary.
I exhaled outside the door to the office and calmed my jittering nerves. I knocked and heard a male voice beckon me inside.
I expected a grand giant office to match the very expensive appearing Pizzeria interior. But, I was greeted with an average one. It had a bookshelf, a desk with a comfy-looking head chair, a computer, a framed picture that faced him, and two equally nice chairs across from him.
"Lynette Wayland?" He stood up and walked over to meet me. .
He looks wealthy. He had a very flawless complexion and his clothes were neatly tucked. He wore an all-black, freshly pressed business suit with a red cloth in his pocket and white gloves over his hands. I shook the hand he offered me. He’s about the same height as Wicks…and looks maybe around the same age as Charletta?
"My name is Edgar Clemente. You may call me Edgar. It's nice to make your acquaintance." A firm handshake followed. However, what caught my eye was his oddly colored ones. They looked a little redder than a normal brown hue. Almost with a tint of purple. "Is something the matter?"
I shook my head and moved to the seat he offered across his desk, "you have nice eyes." I made this weird!
"Thank you, they’re a gift from my parents." He chuckled as he sat back in his. "Before I start the classic interview questions, Lynette, I need to ask, how do you feel about pizza?"
"Pizza? I think it's good." Do some people here hate it?
He put a hand to his chest, "I started this place as a passion project. I don't know why, but the impulse to make pizza was too great to ignore. There's something I find so relaxing when I make them." His grin made it hard to tell whether or not he was joking, "and it's kind of become a ritual of passage for me to ask those interested in being hired what it means for them" He folded his hands one over the other, and leaned forward in his seat. His face dropped, holding a serious note, " how do you feel about pizza?"
Should I lie? I asked myself. I could say something like, “I’ve always had a passion for pizza too!” and yet my mouth wouldn’t let me.
"Honestly, sir, I don't have a passion for making pizza. I find it good, don't get me wrong, but not in the same way. I heard what you pay your employee’s and I’d love to save up as much money as possible to pursue another passion. That way, I won’t have to worry about not being successful…in it." I said and lowered my head after.. "It's probably not the answer you wanted."
Chin up. I nudged myself and adjusted my posture in my seat. No moping, you’re not out yet. "However, if I’m hired, I will work to the best of my ability to bring the cheer your customers need when they come inside this pizzeria."
I maintained eye contact, intimidated by his silence. He moved a gloved hand to his mouth and I saw a smile peak on his lips.
"Most people tell me what I want to hear. A time when pizza sparked their "hearts."" He placed air quotes over the word. "I’m glad you don’t look ashamed that you answered with sincerity. I would be after the money in your position too." He chuckled and sat back, "though, unlike you, I would have lied."
He opened his desk and placed down a packet of papers labeled "Happy Pizzeria Contract."
"As you are in it for the money, Lynette, how about I offer you a proposition." He flipped to the second page and wrote on the bottom of it. He turned it back to me. "The pay is $100 an hour, you are allowed up to a month of vacation paid after your first week, and as a bonus, if you stay here for six months, you'll receive $500,000."
My eyes widened, "wh-what-" I was too stunned to say anything else.
He raised a pointer finger, "and if you stay loyal to this pizzeria for a year, working hard, following our rules, I'll raise that bonus to four million dollars."
My heart felt like it skipped a beat. I leaned back in my chair and held it.
He bent over his desk and his lips parted with worry. "Are you alright, dear?"
“I-yeah, just…four million…” I uttered to myself. "A year? That's it."
"If you can last, yes. And I'm sure that'd help with your money problems? On top of your $100 an hour." He handed me a pen, "oh, and we offer some of the best medical coverage around, as well as dental and vision once you start."
I pulled myself up and looked at the contract, "am I selling my soul or something?"
He snickered and gave a shake of his head, "no, I simply have more than enough money for my family, not including how much my wife makes."
I took the pen he held out. "How many hours and days would I work a week?"
"Five days a week, two days off a week, given that your recommendation was Alexander, he'll be training you. And you'd have Tuesday and Wednesday off." He held a finger up, "If possible, you'll start tomorrow."
"That works great." I replied, "what about lunch break and-"
"You receive two fifteen-minute breaks and an hour lunch break. A break after two hours, a lunch break after two more hours, then another fifteen before your last two. Your work hours will also be the night shift. 2 p.m. to 11p.m. is that alright with you?"
"Yes," I said.
I couldn't find anything to disagree with. I skimmed the contract. I was in too much shock to analyze every word. After a few more small questions, I signed it, and Edgar took it back. He walked me into the hall and to the infirmary for the rest of the information. He left me inside while he got the nurse.
The infirmary itself had beds of various sizes. I didn't understand why they would have ones that looked to fit at least six people or more.
I sat at the seat in the far corner and waited. I glanced over the books lying around and then to the medical supplies. A woman walking in drew my attention.
She introduced herself as Sandra, the woman I spoke to earlier.
She had a pale yet beautiful complexion, and her ears were sharper than most people's. It actually reminded me of Wicks and our family. I think Alexander had them with a small point too?
She escorted me to a scale and height machine. Took that down, gave me a small physical, questioned how I had been feeling lately, asked about my medical history, and informed me that she would be contacting my doctor soon.
Her voice during all of it sounded very rehearsed as if she had done it at least a hundred times.
She gave me a uniform from a cabinet full of them. It came with a hat, name badge, red shirt with black trim, and black jean pants. Then stacked me up with a second pair of everything. The fabric felt stretchy and thin yet sturdy.
An image of the mascot pizza slice was on the hat, next to the words Happy Pizzeria. The mascot was also on the shirt's breast pocket.
Sandra warned me how dirty they would get throughout the day, precisely at Lunch. Probably because everyone eats the pizza here.
Later I returned to the apartment teetering on excitement and unease. This is way too good to be true! I sank back on the couch, looked at a video of kittens on my phone, and sipped some tea to relax.
I got five minutes into the video and jerked up with a gasp, “wait! Dang it,” I fumbled not to spill my drink. “I didn't even buy one of their pizzas!”
