The lighting change in time bastard is probably one of my favourite details. I’m not sure if it was intentional or not but the change of lighting to become a cooler, more somber colour is genius.

I’ve seen a lot of people get confused when Noel is considered the “Most Romantic Boy in Town” instead of Mischa, but I feel like it actually does make sense when you think about artistic romanticism.

Artistic romanticism is more about the extremes and beauty. Like all those paintings of huge, thundering ocean waves against rocks, It’s not meant to go with the “Rational Mind”, leaning more into the emotional side of things going “wow omg art is cool life is cool”

Noel fits this to a T with his romanticism of being a sex worker in post war France. He’s singing longingly for a smoking addiction, murder, and dying from an overdose. Plus, he’s mentioned to be a Pisces, the sign of passion. He’s not the most romantic because he has someone to love, he’s the most romantic because he sees everything through rose-tinted glasses.

Paul LOVES horror movies, specifically in the gorno genre (Saw and Hostel are great examples of this movie genre). He specifically likes these types of movies because he loves the practical effects that are used. Anytime a kill happens he’ll rant to whoever’s watching it with him about how they made the kill come to life with practical effects. He also got Richie into the genre, so Richie tried showing Paul Blood C, he didn’t enjoy it that much but they have that in common.
