drawing hard

#hmmmm.....#bluebird.txt #saw a youtube video this one artist has and it's how he recommends looking at things as purely shapes and outlines and then working in from #there #when you're drawing from life or a picture #and i've tried it a bit and i like it a lot cuz it helps as far as proportions go #but then i go to drawing from imagination and im like Marinating it in my head bc h think #it's helpful to get the general composition and such and more or less get proportions normal-ish #but i also want to draw realistic or as close to it as i can #so thats when the imagination stuff gets tricky #i gotta figure out what a study is bc i see people say 'i did a study of this!'#all the time and part of me is like does it just mean drawing anything or like. what.#is it just practicing and then people post the finished product and that's why it just looks like drawings?#i suspect this may the case #hm

But I did want to gif this scene. So sacrifices had to be made 🤣#Absolute INSANE behavior Tim. INSANE! and yet justified given how much of a piece of sh-- Caleb turned out to be. He had creepy vibes #from the get go. It's interesting how Tim said that Lucy hesitated with Caleb.#The only hesitancy (and frustration) I detect is this conversation taking place while Tim is there and Lucy being very aware of that.#And Tim at the end handing her the paper. Lucy observing how he's acting and how quickly he shifted into protective mode. Tim standing #there with a part of him not feeling right about this whole thing & later projecting that as Lucy being the one who didn't.#He was overwhelmed by his guilt and in such anguish. Just falling apart at the thought of losing her because he gave her advice #as a friend and not as her training officer. Something awful happening to someone else. To Lucy... collecting more guilt #and piling it on top of all the other times that happened. That someone suffered because of 'his actions'#Neither Tim or Lucy saw this sadistic monster coming. And Tim may not have suspected him...#But there was something about Caleb and that interaction that had Tim stepping into that role of the fierce protector.#And Tim isn't only emitting protective energy here...🟢 * Puts a green circle there and doesn't elaborate * Yaass queen give us nothing 🤣#The green circle of jealousy and Tim is standing inside of it.#But he's also coming across as distrustful of Caleb's intentions which is not alarming as they're in the midst of the chaos #surrounding a serial killer. It's rather expected to be that way. It's how Tim said he should've known. He should've suspected him.#He's a cop. And yet he started interrogating like a cop would & as if he were a suspect. Asking for a last name. What he does for a living.#He behaved in that way for a reason. So something definitely felt off but the need to be Lucy's friend in that moment #that he encouraged her to go out with him came before his instinct to be a cop or even her T.O .#In other words... He prioritized Lucy and what he thought she needed. He shifted the focus from the case onto her by #suggesting she focus on something else. And when she was taken... that focus on her became heightened by the gravity of the situation.#+ The EYE CONTACT. Tim & Lucy having their own private moment. The silent communication between them while Caleb rambles on #in the background about something unimportant. I have so much more to say but I've reached my tag limit 🤣*whispers with feeling* f**k..

I’ve gotten so tired of the “Shadow the hedgehog is 50 years old 🤪” jokes because people use it as an excuse to draw porn of him, so I’m swinging violently in the opposite direction and saying there’s more evidence pointing to him being the youngest member of the cast then there is evidence that he’s an adult.

1: to get this out of the way, he was in STASIS for 50 years, so he did not age physically or mentally in that time.

2: in his Sonic Generations dlc we see that when shadow met Maria they both appear to be the same age, this implies that when shadow was “born” he had both his current mental age and his “teenager” type body.

3: Maria does not (at least visually) age between her first meeting with Shadow and when she dies on the Arc.

So with this information in mind Shadows actual age is based solely on how many years he had with Maria, which all things considered could be less than 1. There is a real tangible chance that the reason that he’s so unstable in SA2 isn’t just because he’s still mourning the loss of his best friend/sister but because she’s all he ever knew, he know her since the day he was born fully conscious, then she’s just gone. On top of that his entire world changed, if I lived in an environment with a complete lack of ambient noise and basically nothing but sterile empty halls and was suddenly on a planet with constant noise and bugs and weird smells I’d consider destroying everything, and that’s without the factor of still being in mourning.

Shadow may have the physique and mental fortitude of a 15-16 year old but clearly would not have any experience up to that point. This also explains why in the Shadow the Hedgehog game he’s so easily manipulated and influenced after losing his memory, he’s been set back to square one, he’s basically an infant.

Now this may have spawned as a “fuck you” to people sexualizing a fictional child but this explains so many quirks about him that I’m surprised that I haven’t seen more people talk about this or play into it in fan works, Shadow is basically a toddler in the body of a 9th grader given the power of a god, sure he’s smart enough to make decisions for himself but it wouldn’t surprise me if there’s huge gaps in his knowledge still even after living on earth for as long as he has.

In conclusion, let Shadow be a kid and stop making excuses to be creepy about him.

You know, if the people giving Cellbit the mysterious messages were really an ally or wanted him to actually know what's going on, they'd give him actual info instead of vaguely threatening and demeaning notes. Like, "interesting performance"? That is basically reducing all of his fear, stress, and actions in the current circumstances to something they find amusing. Not to mention the last time they sent a note, it was clearly something they had to have known could (and did) get interpreted as blackmail/a threat towards Richas. Regardless if they are implying they are on the same side in terms of goals, they are not treating him as an equal in this situation and are purposely keeping him in the dark, likely in an effort to make him do things that would benefit their own end goals, which probably will not lead to the overall health and happiness of the islanders and eggs.

#so i live in an apartment block #and one (or some) of my neighbours have started smoking cannabis recently (or something that smells similar)#i say ''have started'' because i haven't noticed anything until a couple of weeks ago #sometimes i can smell tobacco in the staircase but it has never really spread to my apartment #but the pot? my hallway REEKS of it #(=inside my actual apartment!!!!!)#and look. i could not give less shits about what someone chooses to smoke in their freetime #but PLEASE don't subject me to it ffs🤢#i have a suspicion which neighbour it might be but i'm not 100% sure so i guess there's not much i can do about it #however. the smell is so strong that it would make sense it's from a nearby apartment #and considering my next-door neighbour had a couple of visits from the police last spring... 😐#i know i'm not the only one bothered by the smell judging by the notes some of my neigbhours have left on the noticeboard of the building #i think these notes (''heippalappu'') are somewhat useless though because 1) the neighbour to whom it's directed may never even see it #and 2) even if they did i doubt it would make them stop smoking indoors #because i don't think it's a case of them not realising the smell might affect others #it's more a case of just being a dick and not giving a fuck about other people #just now i googled ''what to do when my neighbour smokes pot'' lol #but i couldn't really find anything useful for this particular situation where i can't be sure from which apartment the smell comes from 😑#and i don't really feel like snooping around behind my neighbours' doors like a sniffer dog to figure out where's the source of the smell #i live on the 3rd floor and as i said my main suspect is my next-door neighbour #and someone in the heippalappu was also suspecting a 3rd floor resident (''you know who'' they had written)#but then someone else had written they think it comes from the 4th floor so 🤷‍♀️#unless it was the pot-smoker themselves bluffing 🤔#i did find a reddit thread (in finnish) in which some people are like ''it's just a smell. deal with it''#ah! so i'm supposed to just tolerate the smell of pot inside my apartment! even though it's fucking disgusting! okay thanks!!!!!!#AITA for being bothered by pot smell inside my apartment caused by my neighbour lol

I don’t have anywhere to go with it but I’m very compelled by the idea of Vi lying about her age to the explorer’s association

#in a universe where eetl's line about not allowing children is more of an actual Thing #normally I tend to think of her as being 17 but for this she's like sixteen and a half. maybe like three quarters. because its funnier #(and I always think about her looking young for her age but that's extra true in this case. because it's exaggerated with her pretending to #be older)#she uses fake id stuff she got from someone in the underground tavern #also have thoughts on that getting 'revealed'#although one of them is an au where muse is around and the very first time she has a moment alone with vi she's like anyway how drastically #are you lying about your age. deadpan. because they're similar enough that she can just Tell #I suppose leif might also suspect her at some point but it wouldn't be as immediate #(this is more of a separate post thought but sometimes I have feelings about the comparison drawn between them)#(I don't personally vibe with the idea of leif and or kabbu being (like) vi's parent but I do think leif has moments where he looks at vi #and is like. sees in her someone that could be a version of his and muse's kid. and emotional)#but anyway back to the other relevant thought. which is that Vi doesn't bring up the age thing until they get to her birthday #(which. the one on her id may or may not match her real one idk)#and leif or kabbu remarks on her being nineteen oh wow can't believe it. and she's like *awkward inhale* /yeah/.....#an aquila original #bug fables #vi bug fables

#new scotland yard #and when you're wrong #1972 #classic tv #alun falconer #bryan izzard #john woodvine #john carlisle #jeremy wilkin #sheila fearn #robert fyfe #frederick treves #keith marsh #leon sinden #tony caunter #yvonne manners #david king #john tatham #a good attempt at a dramatic season finále but it fluffs a couple of key moments and never quite gels together as it should have #Carlisle's sneering‚ increasingly bullyish DI is involved in a high end art theft case‚ tho the degree to which he's involved (and on which #side of the law) is quite cleverly obscured; up until about the halfway mark anyway (one of those fluffed moments i mentioned; it would #have been far more effective to keep us guessing right through). things are complicated by the murder of his informant‚ and then further #complicated by an array of suspects and third parties‚ all just a little larger than life (Treves makes for a wonderfully dithering and #almost edwardian style co conspirator). that's part of the problem‚ that the colourful characters in the case are just a little at odds #with the more serious tone that a potentially corrupt main character should provoke. Woodvine mostly struts around being very annoyed at #proceedings but he is notably sympathetic towards Fearn's (implied) sex worker and even subtly provides some legal advice at the close #with Carlisle busy being partly the subject of investigation‚ his place is taken for this ep by the lovely Wilkin sporting quite a 'tache #oh and it may not come across in text but the quote above quite takes you aback for the sheer lack of respect bordering on relaxed contempt #that Carlisle shows his immediate supervisor (the way he nails that 'You know what I'm doing' with arch disinterest.. the character may be #a shit but give him his dues‚ Carlisle plays it incredibly)

its actually nuts how missing a single vaccination has shaped my entire fucking life. like not only would I not be deaf if I had gotten it on time but I probs wouldn't have adhd either 🫣

#like yeah I have a family history of adhd but im pretty sure the current model suggests u can be genetically *predisposed* but the actual-#development of adhd is thought to be closely linked to environmental 'triggers' like childhood stress or head injuries lol #or in my case brain trauma. fun fact: a suspected 62% of kids who survive hib meningitis later develop adhd symptoms #vs. 5% incidence in the general population.....#when I first heard that I was still in denial bc i thought of adhd as a 'natural' condition like ur just born that way #so if meningitis survivors displayed symptoms that didnt mean they were ACTUALLY adhd. except literally all adhd is-#is a collection of symptoms its not some tangible 'switch' thats flipped in some ppl and not others. maybe thats a rly obvious statement-#but I found it kinda hard to get my head around. i guess just bc of how a lot of psychology is viewed by the public innit #anyway being deaf + nd kinda fucking sucks yall better be jabbing ur babies with every vaccination possible or im coming for ur knees #its funny bc it sounds like im saying watch out !! vaccination may PREVENT neurodivergence NOT cause it !!#*andrew wakefield voice* u wouldnt want a child with autism #but thats not what i meaaaannn obvs ur kid not getting xyz disease that could kill them is the number 1 most important thing #its so cringe actually bc hib b incidence has been down to abt 2 in every 100 000 babies since the vax was introduced in 1985 #so I was one of like. probably less than 10 babies to get it in the fucking country and they misdiagnosed me a bunch of times #bc it was so uncommon + I had some rarer symptoms plus the only way to actually CHECK is to test spinal fluid which is a faff #if theyd realised earlier then i also wouldnt be deaf bc it wouldnt have been as severe. just a series of unfortunate events i guess #anyway. immunology is so fascinating i wish id focused on it more in my degree tbh #over and OUT #.diaries

im like lowkey always thinking about this spreadsheet that was made where it was like. the 100 most written ships on ao3 in 2022 or whatever. and narumitsu made it!!! but there was a section for the character’s races and it said edgeworth was white and even though i am certain it was made by people who aren’t familiar with ace attorney my brain will randomly be like

wah the university hosting the conference I'm attending this spring is also the university my grandparents met at like. over 50 years ago & they got really excited when I told them about the conference and talked about a bunch of the little memories they have and gave me a whole bunch of hotel recommendations near the campus it was sooo cute 😭

also will be driving to the city my great aunt lives in and spending a night there and I haven't seen her in like. I think over 10 years and I know she's very excited to see me 🥺
