Not Interested (Jasper Whitlock x M! Reader)
Summary: You never understood the hype over the Cullen family. Sure, they were beautiful, but didn’t anyone at school have enough common sense to notice something was off? Too bad a certain empath is smitten with you and merely finds your open disdain entertaining.

You never understood the hype over the Cullen family. Sure, they were beautiful, but didn’t anyone at school have enough common sense to notice something was off? They looked like marble statues—flawlessly sculpted but lifeless, almost artificial. And then there were their mannerisms, too controlled to be teenagers. It was all a bit too uncanny for your liking.
Jasper Hale was no exception. Out of all of them, he seemed like the biggest walking red flag. He wasn’t an asshole, exactly, but his whole demeanor screamed danger. Every time you glanced his way, he was as stiff as a board, eyes unblinking and hands clenched into fists beneath the table, like he was holding himself back from doing something. There was a reason people said he was the second most unapproachable Cullen, with Rosalie taking the number one spot. Yet, despite his apparent hatred for people, he seemed determined to catch your attention.
He'd linger by your locker, his eyes burning a hole in your back. When you snapped at him to get lost, he didn’t flinch. He smiled. HE FUCKING SMILED LIKE YOU WERE A KITTEN THROWING A TANTRUM. In class, he'd try to strike up a conversation, blatantly ignoring your clipped and cold responses with a patience only a saint could have. Not only did you notice this, but the whole school did, too. Jasper’s odd behavior had quickly become a hot topic.
Jessica, damn her soul, was at the head of the rumor mill, spinning far-fetched stories about you and Jasper being secret lovers. If punching someone—much less a girl—wouldn’t get you expelled or possibly arrested, Jessica would have been target number one. You tried to keep your anger in check, especially when the whole school (students and staff alike) kept staring at you and Jasper like you were part of some soap opera. But one rumor, in particular, pushed you over the edge.
“I’m not a sugar baby!” you hissed at Jessica when she tried to strike up a conversation about the nonexistent gifts Jasper was supposedly giving you. “What bullshit gave you that idea?”
“He gave you a pencil—”
“Oh, fuck off and shove that pencil—” You couldn’t finish that thought as the bell rang, signaling the end of lunch and the beginning of fourth period. Jessica just waved goodbye and scurried off, knowing your temper wouldn’t be stopped by a bell. Huffing, you made your way to history class, where, lo and behold, Jasper was already seated, a grin on his face.
As the class dragged on, you couldn’t keep ignoring Jasper or the hushed whispers of the other students. His grin never faltered, and neither did the feeling of his gaze burning into you.
Screw it.
Without waiting for the teacher to finish his lecture on some historical battle you couldn’t care less about, you stood up abruptly.
“Out,” you muttered, grabbing Jasper by the arm with a grip that brooked no argument. Jasper, taken aback, allowed you to drag him to his feet. A low murmur rippled through the class, but you didn’t care. You were done playing around.
You hauled him out of the classroom, ignoring the teacher’s confused calls after you, and pulled him down the hallway to the nearest janitor's closet. You shoved the door open, pushed him inside, and slammed it shut behind you. The tiny space was dimly lit and filled with the scent of cleaning supplies, but you didn’t let the cramped quarters intimidate you. Instead, you crowded Jasper back against a shelf, glaring up at him.
“Alright, Hale,” you snapped, eyes blazing. “I’m sick of the staring, the lurking, and the creepy smiles. What's your deal? Are you trying to get under my skin, or are you just that bored?”
For a moment, Jasper didn’t respond. Then, slowly, that infuriatingly calm smile spread across his lips. “You know,” he drawled, his voice like honey dripping off a knife, “for someone who claims not to care, you seem awfully worked up about it.”
“Cut the crap,” you growled, slamming your palm against the shelf beside his head. “You’ve been following me around like some kind of deranged puppy, and I want to know why. And don’t you dare feed me some bullshit line about coincidence.”
Jasper’s smile faded, and for a moment, his eyes flickered with something darker, something almost… amused. “Maybe some of the rumors are true,” he admitted, his voice low but steady. “Maybe I do want to get to know you better.”
The words hung in the air, surprising you. You’d expected deflection, but this was something else. You narrowed your eyes. “Get to know me?” you echoed. “And what exactly does that mean?”
“It means,” Jasper continued, his gaze meeting yours head-on, “that you’re different from the others. You don’t fawn over us like we’re gods, and you’re not afraid to speak your mind. It’s… refreshing.”
You snorted. “So, what? You think acting like a creep is the way to get my attention? Newsflash, Hale: it’s not working.”
His lips twitched, almost like he was holding back a laugh. “Oh, I don’t know,” he said. “It got you to drag me in here, didn’t it?”
That did it. You reached out, grabbed the front of his shirt, and pulled him closer, your faces mere inches apart. “Listen to me,” you said, your voice a low, dangerous whisper. “If you want to know me, try acting like a normal person instead of some stalker freak. Got it?”
Jasper didn't reply immediately, just stared at you before his gaze briefly flicked to your lips. “Got it,” he murmured, a reverent expression crossing his face that confused the hell out of you. You let go of him, expecting him to step back, but he didn’t. He stayed right where he was, not seeming at all bothered by the confined space or your proximity. “Just so we’re clear,” he added softly, “I’m not giving up. I’m still going to try to get to know you, whether you like it or not.”
Feeling a mix of frustration and something you didn’t want to name, you turned around and opened the door. “Fine, but try anything like this again, and I won’t be so nice.”
Jasper chuckled, that damn smile creeping back onto his face. “Deal, but somehow, I think you like a little chaos.”
You rolled your eyes. “Let’s get back to class, Hale.” you grumbled, stepping out into the hallway. But as you walked away, you couldn’t shake the feeling of his gaze on your back—a challenge silently hanging in the air between you.

Carlisle Cullen X Fem Reader - Night Shift
The fluorescent lights of the clinic buzz incessantly above you, casting the empty waiting room in a sterile glow. You sit at the reception office desk, flipping through patient files, but your mind is not on your tasks, it's instead focused on him—Dr. Carlisle Cullen—the head of the clinic and your boss for the past few months.
From the moment you first stepped into the clinic, nerves buzzing in your chest, his calm, commanding presence was undeniable. You hadn’t expected someone so strikingly handsome to head the small-town clinic. And yet, there he was, his golden eyes warm and inviting, his smile kind. You felt the pull instantly, though you brushed it off as a simple crush, one that would fade with time.
But it hadn’t.
Every day since has been a challenge. You sometimes lingered in the break room longer than necessary, stealing glances whenever he passed by. It feels like he's doing the same sometimes—his gaze held on you just a little too long, his voice getting slightly softer when he speaks your name. But it could all be in your head.
It’s after hours now, the last patient is long gone, and the clinic is unusually quiet. Your shift is almost over, and you prepare to shut down your computer when you hear footsteps behind you.
“Y/N?”
Carlisle’s deep voice pulls you out of your thoughts. You turn around, startled to see him standing in the doorway of his office, his white coat still on, sleeves slightly rolled up, exposing his forearms. You can’t help but notice the way his muscles flex slightly as he leans against the doorframe, his eyes locked on you with a soft intensity.
“Dr. Cullen,” you manage to say, a smile tugging at the corners of your lips, though your pulse quickens. “I didn’t think anyone else was still here.”
“I was finishing up some paperwork,” he says, his tone casual, though his eyes seem to flicker with something deeper. “But I noticed the lights were still on out here. Are you staying late?”
You shake your head, trying to focus. “Just wrapping up a few things. I’ll be out of your hair soon.”
He steps into the room, his presence filling the space, making the air feel charged. He walks toward the desk, stopping just a few feet away, close enough that you can smell his familiar scent—clean, crisp, with a hint of something more enticing.
“You don’t have to rush,” he says softly, his voice laced with something you can’t quite place. “I actually wanted to talk to you.”
Your heart skips a beat. “Talk to me?”
Carlisle nods, and for a moment, the silence between you is heavy, palpable. His gaze holds yours, and you feel like he’s seeing straight through you, reading every thought, every feeling you’ve tried so hard to hide.
“You’ve been doing an incredible job here, Y/N. More than just competent… you’ve brought a warmth to this place that we didn’t even know we needed,” he says, his voice deep and sincere. “And, if I’m being honest, it hasn’t gone unnoticed.”
His words make your heart race, your breath hitching as you process what he’s saying. There’s something in his tone that suggests more than just professional praise.
“I—thank you,” you stammer, feeling a warmth creep up your neck, your pulse racing. “That means a lot coming from you.”
Carlisle steps closer, rounding the desk until he’s standing just a few inches away from you. Suddenly, the air between you feels charged, electric. His eyes, golden and piercing, hold yours in a way that makes it impossible to look away.
“There’s something I’ve been meaning to ask you,” he says, his voice lower now, more intimate.
“Yes?” You reply just a little too quickly and you can't help but cringe internally.
“ If I were to ask you on a date would you say yes?” He asked
“You want to as me on a date ?” The question came out a little self-deprecating.
You’ve spent months wondering if the tension between you was one-sided if those fleeting glances and the soft brushes of his hand were just coincidences. He steps even closer now, his hand reaching out to gently brush a stray strand of hair behind your ear. The touch is soft, but it sends a jolt through your entire body, making your skin tingle where his fingers linger. His hand had felt cold when he had gently brushed your ear but the contrast of it against your flushed skin felt amazing.
“I’ve been trying to ignore it,” he admits, his voice barely above a whisper. “But it’s getting harder every day. You make it impossible, Y/N.”
Your heart pounds in your chest as his words sink in. There’s no mistaking it now—the attraction, the chemistry that’s been simmering between you for months is real. And he feels it too.
“I know,” he says softly, his eyes searching yours. “I know this is complicated. But I can’t keep pretending I don’t want you.” He stares down at you towering above you looking like a god.
Your breath catches in your throat, and for a moment, time seems to stand still. The only sound in the room is the soft hum of the overhead lights, and the only thing you can focus on is Carlisle—his piercing gaze, the way his lips part slightly as if he’s holding back everything he wants to say.
“ Carlisle I don't care about any of that I just thought you were way out of my league, to be honest.” You couldn't help the honesty. Not that you didn't have self-confidence but Carlisle was way beyond any man you had ever seen look wise. His perfect features and natural charm made for a deadly combination.
“Come here Y/N.” The command was firm yet gentle. You stood up and he still towered over you. He is so close to you, within arms reach. Then as if he can read your wishes his cold hand returns to your face to gently grasp your jaw and cheek. He seems to examine your face thoroughly and then he scans down your body taking his time. His look of pure approval and lust has your heart beating out of your chest and your stomach doing flips.
“Absolutely beautiful. I don't understand how you cannot see that.” Carlisle’s voice feels like velvet on your skin.
And then, without warning, he closes the distance between you, pulling you closer to him suddenly with one arm around your waist his lips crashing against yours in a heated kiss.
You gasp against his mouth, your hands instinctively reaching for his chest, feeling the hard planes of muscle beneath his shirt. His kiss is intense, demanding, yet somehow gentle, like he’s been waiting for this moment just as long as you have.
Carlisle’s hands find your waist, pulling you closer as he deepens the kiss, his lips moving against yours with a hunger that surprises you. You’ve imagined this moment so many times, but nothing could have prepared you for the way it feels—the way your body melts into his, the way his hands seem to know exactly where to touch you to make your pulse race.
He pulls back slightly, his breath hot against your lips as he whispers, “Are you sure about this?”
Your heart pounds in your chest as you look up at him, your mind racing. But there’s no doubt, no hesitation in your voice when you say, “Yes.”
That’s all the encouragement he needs.
Carlisle’s lips find yours again, more insistent this time, as he backs you up against the desk. You feel the edge of it press against your hips, but all you can focus on is him—his hands roaming over your body, the way he’s kissing you like he’s starving like he’s been holding back for far too long.
Before you know it, he’s lifting you onto the desk, his hands sliding beneath your shirt, fingers grazing over your skin. The coolness of his touch sends shivers down your spine, and you can’t help but arch into him, craving more.
“Tell me you want this,” he murmurs against your neck, his lips brushing against your skin, sending sparks of electricity through your body.
“I want this,” you breathe, your voice shaky with anticipation.
Carlisle’s hands move with purpose now, slipping your shirt over your head, his eyes dark with desire as they take in the sight of you. He leans down, capturing your lips in another searing kiss, his hands exploring every inch of your skin, igniting a fire within you that you can’t control. Your hands grab at his clothes, his jacket slides off him and then you start helping him with the buttons of his crisp white button up underneath. He helps you and suddenly you are staring at a muscular broad chest. He is more defined than you expected and you can't help but let your eyes trail down to where his abs are and then his faint happy trail of light blonde hair. Your mouth water at the sight of the bulge that tented his black slacks. You bring your hand to his chest and trail it down slowly to start undoing his belt. You notice he doesn't look like he is breathing but then as your eyes meet he catches his breath. He looks at you with hungry eyes that make you melt inside. Once his pants are undone you pull out his long hard cock and stroke it gently. It is surprisingly cold and the sight of it is magnificent, long with a few visible veins and the pink tip makes you want to place your lips around it.
“Y/N I am going to try my best to be gentle with you my darling but if I hurt you please tell me and I will stop immediately.” He whispered into your ear, making goosebumps rise on your skin.
“You won't hurt me, Carlisle. I know it.” You whispered back knowing he wouldn't but somewhere deep down inside you, hoped he would. You liked it a little rough and you wanted to see him fully unleashed. Not his usual calm, collected, controlled self. You pushed your hand gently against his chest and he stepped back allowing you to slide down from the desk and onto your knees in front of him. You decide to unhook your bra quickly and his eyes are glued to your movements, like a predator watching carefully. It turned you on, encouraging you to continue. You look up at Carlisle and he is the most still you have ever seen him be. He waits for you, letting you have full control. You reach up and stroke his length then you rise up on your knees and lick the pale pink tip. He groans his head falling back, You take him in your mouth slowly and start sucking gently. Part of you wants to tease him until he loses control and takes exactly what he wants for you. Your hand continues to stroke him as you take more and more of him in your mouth, your tongue tracing the bottom of his shaft with each motion. From under your lashes, you look up at him and notice the look of pure pleasure on his face. It made a low moan escape from your throat and then you felt his hand entwine into your hair. You moaned once more at the contact, his icy fingers against your burning hot scalp. He gently griped and then followed his hand as your head bobbed up and down getting closer and closer to taking him fully. You know he will hit the back of your throat and you want to try. You don't usually like giving men head but this is Carlisle and he is worth it. You push yourself further on your toes and take him to the hilt, you gag slightly and your eyes water, his grip on your hair around the base of your neck tightens. Your hands grip his hips where slacks have slightly slid down exposing sharp hip bones. Your nails press little half-moons into his velvety skin. He pulls you back, gentle but firm and you look up at him, drool on your lips, watery eyes. You know your mascara might be running slightly. He makes a low growly sound from the back of his throat, admiring you and looking down at you with such intensity.
“You are exquisite, my love.” He murmured and your heart skipped a beat.
In a fluid motion, he somehow picks you up from the floor your legs wrapping around his waist. Your arms around his neck, your arch up to kiss him. He kisses you with a passion that leaves you dizzy. You feel the desk under you once more as he continues the kiss. He slides your skirt down and then pushes your panties to the side and you break the kiss to release a breathy moan. He smirks at you, his cold fingers brushing against your slick core.
“So wet for me, my beautiful girl.” He purred
“Carlisle please I need you to fuck me.” The request was more of a demand and you knew it sounded needy.
“I was going to return the favor but maybe we can save that for another time.” His smile revealed a breathtaking white smile that could have blinded someone.
He didn't waste time positioning himself at your entrance. Carlisle’s strong arms bracketed your hips and caged you into his intoxicating scent. You leaned back onto the desk, sending things flying to the floor. He pushed all the way in and you let out a moan your head falling back at the feeling of him fully seated inside you. He filled you in the best way just on the verge of being too much, but just right. His pace was slow at first as if he was savouring the feeling of you around him.
“You feel amazing darling.” He leaned in to whisper those words into your neck. Then he was kissing in, trailing down to your collarbone and then your breasts, all the while still slowly pumping in and out. You gripped his forearms, needing to stabilize yourself, you moaned when he finally picked up the pace slightly. He looked into your eyes and then as if he knew exactly what you wanted he gently grasped your throat with one hand, holding it in a firm but gentle grip. He sped up once more, his hips slapping against your hips making the desk rock shake and rock slightly. He leans in to kiss you, still holding your neck in a firm grip, then his other arm snakes under your waist pulling you into him while he fucks you at a steady pace. He pulls you up into him until you are no longer touching the desk as he holds you to him by the waist with little to no effort. Your arms wrapped around his neck but with the way he holds you, you don't even need to hold on. He breaks the frenzied kiss looking deep into your eyes, the intensity of his thrusts force quick pants out of you with each time he pounds into you. He uses you exactly how you want like he is crazed with desire.
Your moans got louder as you felt the familiar feeling of a rising orgasm. Your nails dug into the back of Carlisle's neck, your back arching into him further your nipples pressing against his chest. He ground into you and then he released your neck to reach down and rub your pulsing clit. It tipped you over the edge and sent you hurdling towards your climax.
“Carlisle, I'm gonna cum.” You moaned out trying to form the words in your lusty haze.
“Yes cum for me beautiful.” He rasped rubbing circles on your clit as you reached orgasm. Your toes curled and you saw stars as you came hard.
He let out a low groan as he came. You both rode out your orgasms together, breathing hard, pressed against each other. His skin still felt cold somehow and you were grateful as it helped to cool you down from the hot flush from your orgasm. He slowly pulled out of you and then rested you back down on the desk as he reached over to a box of tissues on the office desk and then used it to clean you both up. He helped you dress in a comfortable silence, as he looked at you with a warm gaze.
“I still have intentions of taking you out for dinner, my love. This is usually not how I got about things.” He chuckled low, giving me one of his amazing smiles. Your breath hitched mesmerized by the way his golden eyes sparkled as he looked into yours.
“I am looking forward to it Dr.” You smiled up at him teasing him by using his title.
His smile turned lustful as he leaned down to kiss you.

Sorry to Meet You
Carlisle Cullen x Reader
Summary: The moral dilemma of the patriarch of the Cullen clan finally meeting his mate after 350 years.
Warnings: Angst, death, blood, accident, surgery, not beta’d, turning, grief
Word Count: 5.8k (sorry, I got a little carried away and I’m getting used to writing one shots again)

I rounded the corner within the halls of my father’s hospital, heading towards his oh so familiar office. I  had spent a good portion of my childhood playing in the office halls of the hospital so as to not get in the way of an emergency. Every take your child to work day, every early dismissal, random day off from school, and every weekend he had to work and couldn’t find someone to watch me, he brought me here up until I was about 12.
Now I was in college, studying biology as a pre-med student at Johns Hopkins University. But today I was returning to Forks for my summer vacation in between my freshman and sophomore year. He was supposed to pick me up from the airport tomorrow but I had wanted to surprise him at work so I left a day early.
Reaching the door to his office, I entered. Embarrassingly, I had been so eager I hadn’t even checked if he was busy. As the door swung open I was met with the golden hair and eyes of the most gorgeous man I had ever seen. Given his youth I assumed he was a student or a resident but one look at his badge told me he was an attending.
“Y/N? What are you doing here?” my father’s voice broke me from my trance.
“Hi!” I smiled at my father, ripping myself from the mystery man’s enchanting gaze. “I wanted to surprise you,” I explained, returning his hug. “I was so excited I didn’t even consider that you were busy. Sorry,” I apologized to both men.
“Don’t be,” the blond said in an almost melodic voice. “Trust me I understand the importance of family.”
“Yeah Dr. Cullen’s kids are here all the time,” my father laughed.
‘This guy has kids?’ I thought. ‘Plural? He looks no older than 25.’
Seemingly reading the confusion on my face he explained. “Adopted kids. My sister and I were foster kids so we always agreed we’d adopt as many as possible. So far we’ve adopted five teenagers, hoping to give them a new shot at life.”
“Wow,” was all I said, unsure of how to react. ‘Well this guy was definitely out,’ I noted to myself. ‘Not only is he your father’s colleague, he had five teenagers.’ “Well I should let you get back to it,” I said shyly, already backing out of my father’s office, embarrassed. “I’ll be at the house and we’ll get dinner after?” I suggested to my father.
“Sounds good. See you later sweetie,” he called after me.
~
Carlisle tried his hardest to focus on Dr. L/N’s words but he couldn’t, he was so focused on his colleague’s daughter. When she entered the office he had sucked in a breath he didn’t need. He had heard that some mate connections hit you like a brick but he hadn’t seen it with anyone except presumably between Rosalie and Emmett when she demanded he save him.
So as soon as he was done with his meeting he hopped into his Mercedes and headed towards Dr. L/N’s house. Once he reached it he found no cars in the driveway or any indication that there had been a car there recently, only wet footprints leading up to the porch and inside the door, presumably from Y/N getting out of a cab.
Continuing past the house he parked about half a mile away before running back to the house, a feat that only took him a couple seconds.
Taking a page from Edward’s book he began creeping along the side of the house, trying to spot Y/N through a window. But when he couldn’t find her he was forced to climb up some trees until he found her in what was presumably her bedroom, unpacking a suitcase full of clothes.
He watched, admiring the girl as she sorted through the clothes, tossing some in the laundry bin and others in piles to be sorted in the closet. He realized that he could watch her all day, admiring the quirks of her expression as she reacted to different situations. He hadn’t understood the other Cullens’ obsessions with each other until now.
He continued to watch for hours. His eyes sometimes drifting to the delicate curves of her body but always scolding himself for thinking of her like that given that she didn’t even really know him. But a small part of his mind whispered that she’d be his one day.
He only left when he heard her father’s car approaching, swearing to come back to learn more about her so he could strike up a conversation about her favorite things the next time they “accidentally” ran into each other.
~
The next time I visited the hospital wasn’t just to visit my father, it was because I had managed to slip in a puddle, earning myself a gash on the forehead.
I was sat in the waiting room going on two hours with a blood soaked rag pressed to my forehead. I truly didn’t mind waiting seeing as I knew there were far more injured people getting treated. But as I continued to wait I started to get more and more light headed. I began to make my way to the desk in hopes they could give me some answers when I got a head rush, stumbling into a very cold, hard chest.
“Y/N?” I heard the melodic voice again. This time dripping with concern. “What happened?”
“Oh nothing,” I dismissed, reluctantly pulling away from the grasp he had on my arms. “Just slipped in a puddle and my head kind of ate it,” I chuckled.
“How long have you been here?” he asked, more concern ebbing into his voice.
“I don’t know about two hours?” I shrugged, trying to not make a big deal of it. “Please don’t tell my dad, he’ll just get all concerned and angry and wonder why I wasn’t immediately treated.”
Inside, Carlisle was already feeling all those things I just described. “Well you shouldn’t have to sit there for two hours, bleeding out of your head. You should’ve been brought for a CT. C’mon, can’t have Dr. L/N’s daughter bleeding out in the waiting room.”
I smiled shyly as I felt his strong, cold hand be gently placed on my lower back as he guided me towards an exam room.
~
All throughout the exam Carlisle had to hold his breath. He has excellent control, it’s what many believe to be his special ability and it allows him to do what he loves but Y/N’s blood? The faintest smell alone made venom flood his mouth. And the blood soaked rag along with the fact that he had to bandage up her forehead didn’t help.
“Okay, that should do it,” he smiled, thankfully pulling back from his mate as he finished taping a bandage onto her head. “You’ll have to keep it bandaged for a couple days but your father should be able to help with that. And you most likely won’t scar.”
She breathed a sigh of relief. “Thanks Dr. Cullen. I owe you one.”
He shook his head, breathing a laugh as he looked down at the girl’s chart. “Please, I’m happy to do it. And you can call me Carlisle.”
“Carlisle,” she repeated, nearly melting the vampire right there, “that’s an interesting name, never heard it.”
“Well my parents were a bit old fashioned,” he explained. “So your father tells me you finished your first year at Johns Hopkins? That’s very impressive.”
He admired her blush as she looked down at the ground. “Thanks. I think I was the only one of my graduating class to go out of state.”
“Yeah, I’ve figured out Forks is a very small town. Not many people leave,” he chuckled. “Do you know what you want to study?”
“Um I’ve always kind of wanted to be a surgeon. I know it’s the most difficult specialty but I enjoy the precision of it,” she shrugged.
Carlisle felt a sense of disappointment at the news that his mate wanted to be a surgeon. Being a doctor was hard enough as a vampire but having to literally cut people open? Even he didn’t think he’d be able to focus surrounded by so much blood. He was already dreading having to tell her that she couldn’t be a surgeon after she turned, not at least for decades while she learned control. He was suddenly snapped from his fantasies realizing that this human barely knew him and practically everything he knew about her came from his lurking outside her windows.
Dragging himself out of his thoughts which had no doubt created a long, awkward pause he spoke again. “Yes, well if you made it to Johns Hopkins then I’m sure you can do it.”
“Thanks Doc- Carlisle,” Y/N corrected before standing up off the table and heading for the door.
As she exited, taking most of her intoxicating scent with her, Carlisle sucked in a breath he didn’t need. As much as he hated watching his mate leave he needed a break from her blood. No one had tempted him the way Y/N L/N had, even when he was a starving newborn. And he realized that he would have to figure out a way to get close to her and get her to love him before he even told her about the mate bond. A difficult feat considering her father’s place as his colleague.
~
When Carlisle got home that evening he immediately went to his room, tipping off the family that something was different.
As he collapsed backwards onto his sofa he let his mind wander to his mate. He could picture her face so clearly, and more frighteningly he could still imagine the smell of her blood with eerie accuracy. He imagined all his future endeavors to keep her safe as a human. He’d watch over her, always be within reach to step in when she needed. He pictured their love story. It’d be slow and start with glances and fleeting touches until he invited her out to dinner once she became more comfortable with him. He’d kiss her goodnight on the porch and then make sure she got into the safety of her home before leaving. Their relationship would develop from there with more dates, with Y/N’s father’s approval of course. And when she uttered the words ‘I love you,’ he’d tell her about him and his species because he knew he had earned her love. And as much as he didn’t want to damn her to a life of hiding and being a monster, he couldn’t help but imagine her turning. He’d gently bite into the soft flesh of her throat, injecting his venom into her veins, cementing her as his forever. But the thought of hurting her and turning her into a monster made him hesitate.
As Carlisle continued to immerse himself in his fantasies, his sister entered. “Carlisle?” Esme called softly. “Are you okay?”
“Yeah,” he agreed, sitting up. He wasn’t sure whether or not to tell his family that he had met him mate, considering they were already dealing with the human mate to Edward, Bella, who they had just moved back to Forks for. Of course no secrets stayed secrets for long thanks to Edward and Alice’s gifts. Edward could be counted on for discretion but Alice’s overeager nature wouldn’t allow that. He was surprised that Alice hadn’t already planned a party but maybe she hadn’t seen his mate in her visions yet. He had also wanted to keep her his own little secret for a while but clearly that wouldn’t be happening so he relented. “I- uh met my true mate.”
Esme’s eyes widened as she gasped. Of course living in a house full of vampires everyone heard and immediately began rushing in.
“You met your mate!” Alice practically screamed, nearly knocking over Esme.
“What’s she like?” Emmett asked with a grin. “Or he?” he added hesitantly.
“It’s a she,” Carlisle confirmed. “It’s very new. She doesn’t even really know anything about me and everything I know about her comes from lurking outside her window,” he groaned in embarrassment.
“Well that worked with Bella,” Jasper laughed.
Edward shot his brother a glare before looking back at his adoptive father. “Just find an excuse to be around her, ask her on a date.”
“That’s the thing, she’s 19-”
“You’re physically 23,” Alice cut in.
“Her father is my coworker,” he elaborated. “Besides they think I’m 31 at the hospital. And she just finished her first year pre-med.”
“So you’ll see her around the hospital!” Alice insisted, still trying to convince her adoptive father that everything would be fine. “Suggest that she comes to the hospital more to observe or do an internship! Then you can get to know her and ask her on a date.”
“That’s not actually the worst plan,” Edward admitted.
Carlisle thought for a second. That could actually work, he’d just have to figure out how to bring it up to her and her father naturally.
“So what’s she like?” Rosalie asked suddenly.
If vampires could blush Carlisle would be bright red. “Well um she has H/L, (hair length) H/T, (type) H/C (color) hair. She actually looks a lot like her father, Dr. L/N. She goes to Johns Hopkins. Look can everyone just go back to what they were doing?”
“But we want to meet her,” Alice practically whined.
In his frustration with everything Carlisle blurted out, “You may not even get to meet her.”
That dampened the mood. “What?” Esme asked softly.
“Nothing is decided yet but she’s human. We’re already dealing with Bella, the Volturi are already keeping their eyes on us, and I don’t want to doom her to this life if I don’t have to.”
“But this is your mate,” Alice insisted. “You’ve been alone for 350 years!”
“He has a point,” Rosalie cut in. “We can’t afford to have another human know about us especially with the Volturi sniffing around us. And we shouldn’t be turning people unless they’re actively dying.”
“But she’s his true mate!” Alice maintained, practically stamping her foot on the ground. “He can’t just turn his back on her.”
“Look nothing is decided,” Carlisle tried to calm Alice down. “I have to be back at work in a few hours and I need to hunt so if you’d all please let me be.”
Everyone shuffled out of the room reluctantly except for Edward. “It will break your heart to let that girl go.”
Carlisle paused. He knew that, the idea of letting her go live her life and potentially fall in love with someone else broke his heart. “I know,” he admitted. “But the thought of having to hurt her and make her like this hurts just as much.”
“So love her for the duration of her mortal life.”
“Just to watch her age, live in pain, and die? I couldn’t handle that.”
“But you’re doing it for her,” Edward pointed out.
“But if I’m doing it for her shouldn’t I just let her go live a normal life?”
Edward shrugged. “I don’t know the right answer here just that no matter what you choose it’ll kill you in some way. That’s the unfortunate truth about loving a human.”
~
A few weeks went by and Y/N became a routine part of Carlisle’s day. He’d usually see her at the hospital, working as a secretary. (A job she acquired even without Carlisle’s suggestion.) Because of that he had gained a reputation for hanging around the nurses station, flirting with Y/N. Not only did he learn about her through actually talking to her, he would make frequent trips to her house to watch her through the windows, even occasionally going into her room, which he felt wrong about but being surrounded by her scent dismissed any doubt from his mind.
“Y/N,” he greeted like he did every morning, bringing her a coffee.
“You must be spending a fortune on coffee,” she commented, taking the cup. She had protested several times, insisting that she pay him back but he refused every time so she just began to accept it.
“It’s nothing,” he dismissed. “But if it was it’d be worth it,” he flirted, earning a blush from the girl. Carlisle had learned a lot about flirting in these few weeks. At first it was a bit clumsy but he picked it up fairly easily with a little coaching from Rosalie and Emmett.
“Yeah well you won’t have to spend like $4.50 everyday for much longer, one of my professors is starting a research project a month before the semester begins and he invited me as a fellow,” she explained, a glimmer of disappointment behind her bright, casual expression.
If Carlisle’s heart wasn’t already frozen it would’ve stopped beating. He tried his best to hide his shock and disappointment. “Oh, well congratulations. Getting invited to stuff like this is really good for med school applications.”
“Yeah, and I like being here but it was too good of an opportunity to pass up, y’know? Plus it’ll be nice to see the sun again,” she awkwardly laughed, sensing the doctor’s unease.
“Yeah, um well I have to go get some labs. Congratulations, I’ll see you around,” he rushed out with a forced smile. He didn’t stay long enough to hear her response, rushing out of the room as fast as possible without being suspicious.
He couldn’t think straight. He of course had thought about her just leaving but now that it was actually happening, as well as happening sooner than expected, he didn’t know how to deal with it.
~
Carlisle had no clue what to do when it came to his mate leaving. He couldn’t stop her, that wasn’t fair to Y/N, so instead he kept his distance. Which was easy considering that he could smell her from a mile away. Until one day at the hospital when the scent of her blood was particularly strong.
“19 year old female, car crash. Resuscitated once in the field, three times en route,” the panicked voice of the paramedic echoed through Carlisle’s sensitive ears. He rushed into the ER, spotting her through the window of the trauma room. He mostly recognized her through her scent but would know that H/T, H/C hair and S/T skin through purple and blue bruises from a million miles away. But the next words from her attending doctor only confirmed the worst. “Page Dr. L/N, it’s Y/N!”
It felt like Carlisle had been sucker punched in the gut. It took everything in him not to stagger back and let out a dry sob right there in the ER. When her heart monitor flatlined he wanted to slaughter every person in that room in his grief. It was ridiculous, 350 years of self control would be gone just because of a girl. But not just any girl, his girl.
When they finally got Y/N’s heartbeat back they wheeled her up to surgery, just as Dr. L/N entered the ER. “Where’s Y/N? Where’s my daughter?” he demanded, trying to launch himself at the ER desk.
“D/N, D/N,” Carlisle tried to calm the distraught father. He had to physically hold the man back with vampire strength. Fortunately the ER was too chaotic for anyone to notice. “They took her up to surgery, she’ll be fine.”
“Surgery? Oh god,” the man began to cry. “But that’s my baby, she’s all I have.” With those words Carlisle began to feel guilty. Just a few weeks ago a part of him had been so ready to basically just kidnap this poor man’s daughter and completely shatter his world without a thought. “Oh god, surgery here is a death sentence.”
Carlisle began to protest before really thinking about it. Forks Hospital was small, their surgical staff consisted of two surgeons and whatever nurses that had completed the surgical nurse program. No one came her for surgery, they all went to Port Angeles and their non-emergent traumas went there too. The only people who came here were on the brink of death and unfortunately the two surgeons here weren’t exactly outstanding in their field. They were good enough but nothing remarkable and they usually lost their patients due to the circumstances.
~
Carlisle tried to carry on his day as if the love of his life wasn’t dying in a surgical suite right now. But the ordinarily smooth, confident doctor was distracted and constantly messing up. Until finally his shift was over and he went up to his mate’s room. He had orchestrated the nurses’ charts so she’d be placed in a secluded room should Carlisle need to intervene to prolong her life.
When he entered the room he was met with the most heartbreaking sight. Y/N was laid on the bed, an intubation tube sticking out of her throat. Her entire face was black and blue, some bones in her face looked like they had been broken. She hardly looked recognizable. On the only chair in the room sat her father looking like a worried mess. “Oh, hey Carlisle,” Dr. L/N said dejectedly.
“I’m so sorry, D/N.”
The man shrugged. “She’s tough. She managed to claw her way out of this place. She’ll survive this.”
“I hope so,” Carlisle agreed, staring longingly at his mate.
He didn’t want to arouse too much suspicion from Y/N’s father so he reluctantly went home to change and hunt.
After his quick hunt he re-entered his home finding Alice. “Carlisle, I’m so sorry,” she said softly. He wasn’t sure what to say to that but fortunately he didn’t have to come up with anything because she spoke again. “But you have to stay with her at the hospital if you want any shot at survival.” By now Edward had joined them.
“What?” Carlisle asked.
“She won’t survive this. You’re a doctor, you have to know that. So you’ll have to change her.”
Carlisle would be lying if he said he hadn’t thought of the scenario where Y/N was severely injured and he needed to change her. He looked up at his oldest son. “There’s nothing wrong about saving her life if she’s already dying.”
Not wanting to waste another second Carlisle sped off. He almost ran to the hospital but realized at the last second he should take the car. So he floored it, doing 150mph practically the whole way there. And finally parking in the back so he’d be able to bring her home unseen.
When he got to the hospital his ears were bombarded with thousands of sounds, something he was now used to, but because of his experience he was able to tune into his mate’s heart monitor while he got his plan ready.
Heading to the morgue he found a body that was a similar build and coloring to Y/N. Carlisle was by no means squeamish but it felt weird to break her bones and watch bruises form over her skin until her face was unrecognizable. He then scraped up as many ashes as possible to make it look like someone had cremated her so no one would go looking for her body. Setting the body aside he headed back upstairs finding Dr. L/N slumped over in a chair.
Carlisle hesitantly shook the older man awake. “Hey,” he said softly, willing the man to take his suggestion. “You should go home and rest. Get changed. I’ll watch over her.” The man hesitated, still staring at his fragile daughter. “She'll be fine, I’ll call you if anything happens.”
He reluctantly agreed before heading out, making Carlisle promise to call him even if her heart rate changed by two points.
Carlisle sat for a while, waiting for the hospital to calm down a bit before enacting his plan. First he went to the nurses station while no one was there, turning off the monitors that connected to his mate’s room. He then went back downstairs, using his hearing and sense of smell to bring the body up without being detected. Finally it was time to turn his mate. He stood over her bedside, observing her mortality for the final time. Through the black and blue of her face he admired her beauty, reminiscing the unique, flawed beauty of mortals.
This would be the most difficult transformation of his life. He was more nervous than when he had turned his sister who was his first turn. Y/N’s blood smelled so sweet he wasn’t sure he’d be able to pull away. He took a deep breath through his mouth before lowering his head to her throat, biting quickly. It took everything in him to pull away. He had never killed a human but he had tasted blood when he turned them and Y/N’s was like nothing he had ever tasted before. He knew he had to hold on long enough for the venom to inject into her bloodstream which made it even harder to pull away but he did it.
When he pulled back he could see blood seeping from her puncture wounds telling him he didn’t kill her. He quickly began disconnecting her from the machines before the venom could wreak havoc on her system. He then swapped her body for the one from the morgue, connecting the machines once again. Running down to the car he placed her unconscious figure in the backseat before going upstairs to reconnect the nurses station, alerting them that Y/N L/N was dying.
But by the time they reached her room with a crash cart Carlisle was already escaping with his prize in the back seat.
~
It took three agonizing days for Y/N’s transformation. Carlisle spent every moment he could at her side. He had to go to the hospital in order to not arouse suspicion where he unfortunately had to deal with her grieving father. He had called him on the way home to tell that he had gone to the bathroom and when he got back she was coding. But it didn’t seem to make anything easier for Dr. L/N as the man tried to tackle Carlisle when he walked into work. Fortunately for his secret a nurse stopped him. “You left her!” he screamed. “I lost my baby. I didn’t get to say goodbye because of you!”
At first Carlisle had been elated to finally have his mate (among other conflicting feelings) but now he was confronting the grief he had created. He realized that even if she was going to die anyway, if he hadn’t intervened her father would’ve gotten to say his final goodbye.
Meanwhile at home Y/N was laid on the soft couch in his room. She had spent the first two days sleeping fairly peacefully to the point that Carlisle was afraid he had killed her but her slowing heartbeat was assurance that she was okay. The third day was the hardest, he learned from Jasper that he could feel her pain. He was at work when the pain started and Alice had called him since she would be awake soon and Carlisle had wanted to be the one with her when she woke up.
Carlisle had been sitting by her side for a few hours, admiring her now clear skin, pure from all the bruises and broken bones she had received. In his own cold, stone hand, he now felt the same in her hand, all the warmth having been drained from it now as he played with her fingers adoringly.
~
Even before I opened my eyes I could hear so clearly. I could hear the rustle of clothing, the sound of skin rubbing skin as I realized a cold hand was playing with my fingers. As I became more aware I realized that my throat felt so dry it felt like it was burning.
Peeling my eyes open I was met with what seemed like the brightest object in the universe. I was half convinced I was staring directly into the sun except I could heat the hum of electric lighting.
“Is it too bright?” a voice— Carlisle’s voice asked.
Turning my head I met his warm, golden expression. When I nodded in agreement he ran towards the switch faster than I had ever seen anything move. Weird, but maybe I was just really groggy, but strangely I didn’t feel groggy, I felt more alive than I ever had.
Carlisle’s face reappeared in my field of vision, I could now more clearly see the flawlessness of his skin and the flecks of gold in his irises. Unbeknownst to me he was was also now observing the smoothness of my skin and the deep red hue of my eyes. Something about him felt safe and warm, like I never wanted to leave his side again. “Carlisle?” was all I could think of to say.
His adoring smile widened when I said his name. “Hey, Y/N. How are you feeling?”
“Good…” I answered hesitantly. I felt better than I ever had but his question made me think I shouldn’t feel good.
“That’s good. The transformation can be rougher for some people,” he explained, pulling away slightly to allow me room to sit up.
As I pushed myself up I moved so fast the couch slid to the side. My eyes widened, realizing what happened. “What’s going on? What transformation?”
He took my hands in his, now kneeling on the ground in front of me. “This is going to be strange and you won’t believe me but bear with me, okay?” he asked, looking up at me. One look in his eyes and I was melting so I just nodded, allowing him to explain. “I’m… a vampire. And I made you one too.” Laughs began to wrack my body, this had to be a joke. But one look at the grave sincerity on his face told me he wasn’t joking. “It’s true. It’s why when you sat up the couch moved. Why you’re probably really overwhelmed with all the sound, smells, lights, and feelings. Vampires are the most dangerous predators. We have better senses, are faster, and stronger than anything else.” Seeing my lost expression he rushed out the next words. “I know it’s a lot and I’m sorry I did this to you.”
“Why did you do this to me?”
“How much do you remember?”
“The last thing I remember is driv-” I suddenly realized what must’ve happened. “I was in an accident wasn’t I?”
Carlisle nodded his head regretfully. “You weren’t going to make it. That’s why I turned you. I didn’t want to do it. I was going to let you live your life as a human whether that be with me or with someone else but I couldn’t just let you die.”
“So what? You just turn every dying patient in the hospital?” I asked, trying to wrap my head around his words.
He shook his head no. “You’re the first I’ve turned in nearly 70 years. I couldn’t let you die because… well you see-” Carlisle was struggling with the best word choice to keep from scaring his mate off. “We’re mates… I knew the instant I saw you. Humans can’t feel it as strongly and it’s rare to meet your true mate but that’s what we are.” I didn’t know how to react, I didn’t even know exactly what I was feeling. “You don’t have to stay, you certainly don’t have to accept our bond but I thought you should know about it. Before you got hurt I was planning to hopefully be worthy of your love the old-fashioned way but given the circumstances…”
Before I could say anything the door swung open, revealing three more vampires. One had blonde curls, another with a brunette, short pixie, and the third had caramel hair and had a strong resemblance to Carlisle. “Hi, I’m Alice!” the bubbly brunette introduced.
“Um, girls-” Carlisle attempted to dismiss them so as to not overwhelm his mate.
“She’s probably thirsty,” the blonde insisted. Everyone looked over at me expectantly. Remembering the burning in my throat I nodded. Alice approached, opening a cup allowing the most appetizing scent to permeate through the air. I took it eagerly, frowning when I looked into the cup to find a thick, red liquid. Blood.
“It takes a bit of getting used to,” the caramel-haired one empathized.
“Trust me, you’ll like it,” Alice encouraged.
I gingerly brought it to my lips. The more I could smell it the thirstier I got so I downed the drink. The second the blood touched my lips I couldn’t get enough as I began to down the drink. Once it was all gone Carlisle gently brought the cup from my hands. “C’mon, you should meet the others,” he said, gently taking my hand in his. He led me out of his room, the three women following us into what looked like a very modern living room where there were three men waiting for us. “Y/N, these are my adoptive kids,” Carlisle explained as the blonde and Alice went to stand with their… brothers? “That’s Alice and Jasper, Emmett and Rosalie,” he pointed out the couples, “Edward, and my sister, Esme.”
~
The Cullen clan welcomed Y/N with open arms, including Bella when she eventually met the new vampire. It took a day or two of warming up but soon enough Carlisle and Y/N began to behave just like other mates. They were constantly together, and the rest of the Cullen clan were happy to finally see Carlisle so happy with his mate after 350 years.

Humanity (Rosalie Hale x M! Vamp Reader)
Just got my computer fixed. Something I wrote some time ago, and may be considered unfinished
Summary: What if Rosalie had been accompanied when Royce attacked her? What if her lover got turned into a vampire, and believed it was for the best to break up with Rosalie due to his new status?
tags: blood, death, vampire transformation, the reader doesn't believe Rosalie would continue to love him as a vampire, open-ended
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Go see her." Carlisle advised again, as if you would magically change your mind this time. You turned away, staring out the window at the endless stretch of forest. You didn’t trust yourself, not around her. Every time you closed your eyes, you were back on that cold street, Rosalie’s hand in yours as Royce stumbled toward you both.
He was drunk, furious, and desperate, demanding Rosalie to return to him. It wasn't out of love, no, it was to soothe his ego; no woman had broken up with him, rejected his advances, and gone for someone he perceived less of his status. When Rosalie denied him once more, and Royce stepped forward, you pushed him away, and in the drunken man's rage, had pulled a knife. A quick flash of steel, a sharp sting, and your own blood pooling in your hands.
Carlisle had found you barely clinging to life, and his decision had been swift. The transformation was agony, but nothing compared to the heartbreak of waking up to a world where you couldn’t offer Rosalie the life she deserved.
You’d decided then to let her go.
She deserved more than what you could give her now—a wedding, a family, the chance to grow old surrounded by grandchildren, and eventually, the peace of a natural death. If it were up to you, the moment you awakened, you would've moved to another city—continent even—but Carlisle prevented it. Your red irises would raise questions, but you knew he was also bidding time in case you changed your mind.
“What’s the point, Carlisle?” you finally asked, your voice low and tired. “Seeing me won’t change what’s been done. And I'm not naive as to believe she'll accept...this."
“She’s lost without you.” Carlisle said softly, but you could hear the urgency beneath his calm demeanor. “You both are.” It was true; from what he had told you, Rosalie had been devastated since the news of your "death" reached her. She had become a shadow of herself, locking herself in her room for days, her sobs echoing through the halls of her family’s home. Even her parents' desperate attempts to match her with another suitor fell flat. She wanted no one else—only you.
And as broken as she was, you were worse. A vampire couldn’t die by conventional means, but that hadn’t stopped you from trying. You had thrown yourself from great heights, hoping that maybe, somehow, the impact would do what nothing else could. You had waded out into the deepest waters, letting yourself sink, waiting for the ocean to claim you. And when those failed, you’d simply stopped feeding, your body wracked with a pain that almost matched the one in your chest.
"She's better off without me."
A heavy silence fell between you both. Carlisle’s patience seemed endless, but even you could tell it was wearing thin. He sighed deeply, a weary sound that spoke of centuries of burdens. “Maybe it’s not your choice to make.”
You turned to him, brow furrowed. “What do you mean?” But before he could answer, you heard it—a heartbeat. You stiffened, your senses snapping to attention.
“Carlisle, what did you do?” Then came the sound of her footsteps—soft but purposeful, echoing through the halls. Each step sent a jolt of panic through you, your instincts screaming at you to run, to put distance between yourself and what was coming.
“She deserves to make her own decisions.” Carlisle said quietly, moving past you to open the door.
You didn’t turn around. You couldn’t. Even without looking, her scent flooded your senses, more vivid than you remembered—fresh rain, soft roses, and something uniquely hers, something you could never forget. Your throat burned as venom pooled in your mouth, a stark reminder of the monster you’d become.
This was why you stayed away—why you refused to see her. You couldn’t trust yourself, couldn’t guarantee you wouldn’t hurt her. She deserved better than this dangerous temptation, better than the hollow existence you could offer. Carlisle excused himself, providing you both with some semblance of privacy, but you knew he would be listening. He had faith in your blood control, but accidents always occur.
“Why won’t you look at me?”
Her question hung in the air, heavy with the weight of her pain. You could hear the strain in her voice, the tears she was trying so hard to hold back.
“I’m not who you remember.” If you faced her now, she’d see everything—the darkness, the hunger, the inhuman red of your eyes.“I’m not the person you loved.”
“Then let me see who you are now.” she countered, her voice stronger this time, laced with determination. “Don’t I deserve that much?”
A surge of emotion broke through your defenses, and despite everything, you found yourself turning to face her. The moment your eyes met, the world seemed to stop. Rosalie stood there, her golden hair cascading over her shoulders, her eyes wide and filled with an overwhelming mix of emotions—relief, pain, anger, and something else, love.
Rosalie's breath hitched as she took in your appearance: your crimson eyes, the paleness of your skin, but you were still you. The man she'd fallen in love with.
"I’ve been in hell since you left." she said, taking a step forward. "I mourned you, cursed the world for taking you away from me. But now you're alive, and you expect me to just walk away? To forget?"
"Yes, I'm dangerous now. One wrong move—a moment of weakness—and I'll hurt you."
"You won't." Rosalie promised, taking a determined step closer. Her voice was steady, filled with a confidence that you could only wish you shared. But the reality of your situation loomed large, the danger too real to ignore. You couldn’t afford to let her get any closer—not when every instinct in your body screamed to protect her from yourself.
In a flash, you moved to the other side of the room, putting as much distance between you as possible. You watched her closely, the slight widening of her eyes betraying the fear she tried so hard to hide. It cut deep, but it was necessary. She needed to understand.
"I can’t give you the life you want—children, growing old, a normal marriage, grandchildren. Nothing." You hissed, your voice trembling with a mix of frustration and anguish. "This isn’t a life I’m going to subject you to. Not if I have a say in it."
Rosalie’s face hardened, the pain of your words clashing with her stubborn determination. “You don’t get to decide what I can or can’t have.” she snapped, her voice rising with defiance. “You don’t get to take away my choices. I want you! Why is that so hard for you to comprehend?”
"Because I don't want it." you admitted, your voice raw with vulnerability. "I’m scared that you’ll come to realize that this—” you gestured vaguely to yourself, to the shadows that clung to you, “—is not what you think it is. That you’ll see the truth of what I’ve become and hate me for it. I can’t bear the thought of you hating me, Rosalie. I can’t bear losing you like that.”
Her eyes softened, the intensity of her defiance shifting to something gentler, more understanding. “You think I haven’t already seen you, all of you?” she asked quietly, taking a step closer. “I know what you’ve become, and I still want to be with you. I’m not afraid of the darkness that’s part of you. I’m afraid of losing you because you’re too afraid to let me in.”
You were silent, struggling to find the right words to respond, the weight of your fears pressing heavily on your chest. The idea of Rosalie coming to hate you was a nightmare you couldn’t fully escape, a specter haunting every corner of your mind. And yet, here she was, standing before you with nothing but love and determination in her eyes.
“You’re not a monster.” she said firmly. “You’re someone I love deeply, someone who’s hurting and needs me just as much as I need you.”
You remained planted on the other side of the room. Your mind was fighting with your heart. You wanted Rosalie, but the risk was too high...she was still a human. Weak. A temptation to the beast now inhabiting you. Could you accept her love when it might soon turn the tide and leave you grieving?

As If To Turn Back Time

Carlisle Cullen X Female!Reader
——————————————————————————————————
Pairing: Carlisle Cullen x Female!Reader
Genre: One-Shot, fluff, reunion
Warnings: literally just ignoring Carlisle’s backstory a bit cause I’m too stupid to understand dates and such, failed attempt at me writing people talking from the 1600s with only Bridgeton as a guide
Summary: You and Carlisle met in the 1600s, you had grown close and wanted to come clean to him. However, you had no choice but to leave. The two of you meet years later, Carlisle realising you are a vampire and you discovering that he had turned.
Word Count: 2.7k
A/n: This poor draft has been sitting in my drafts for way too damn long, so long that you can probably see how my writing style changes half way through :(
——————————————————————————————————
The two of you had often walked long walks during the day, talking about seemingly anything and everything. The conversations never pausing or becoming overbearingly dull, it seemed as if you could talk for hours on end.
You, despite not wanting to, grew close to Carlisle, even starting to be on a first name basis. He had always been gentlemen like and was not like the other men you’d talked to, simply wanting somebody to ‘woo’ and eventually marry.
Of course, you never stayed long enough for engagement to even be considered.
However, you didn’t want to leave this one. He was kind, kind unlike the others. His words were genuine, his smile was not faked nor was it practiced. He didn’t say the things he wanted you to hear, he was true about his thoughts and feelings.
He was as though he was too good to he true.
Carlisle thought this about you too. Kind, genuine, true. However, he was correct about being too good to be true, because you knew you had to leave, to break his heart.
Each evening, after parting ways with the Doctor, you cursed yourself. How could you be so careless with your heart? So quick to fall in love? You would outlive him for God’s sake! You would leave before you even got the chance to tell him you loved him, before he could even realise that you were going to leave.
There was no way to ever have a human and a vampire together, not without the Volturi knowing or without the human dying. Having both end up being dead, Carlisle would be buried and you would have half your heart ripped apart. There was no way to run from this problem. You loved him.
You loved Carlisle Cullen.
On June 2nd, 1661, at 3:26pm on a Tuesday afternoon, you had decided to come clean to Carlisle. He was already beginning to piece together that there was something wrong with you, not eating, ice cold skin, never being out in the sun, so coming clean was not going to be a big deal.
However, when you decided that, you had heard talk of your unusual behaviour and your never aging body. That was when it hit you, you had to leave Carlisle before being truthful to him. There was no time for rushed letters or quick apologies.
And so by the 3rd, on the Wednesday morning, you were already out of London and heading to Scotland where you planned to soon move to… Well, you weren’t too sure. You had planned to go to Scotland, but you knew you most likely had to go further, with all your time spent with Carlisle you didn’t think of where you would go next.
When it hid Midday of the Wednesday you left, Carlisle had gone to the house you were staying at, an old friend of yours. He knocked on the wooden door, expecting you to show up in one of your usual light blue dresses. However, one of the Lady of the house’s maids opened the door.
Confusion had hit Carlisle almost immediately, you were always there to greet him, as if you already knew it was him at the door, “Excuse me, Miss. Is Miss L/n home?”
The brunette woman shook her head slightly, “No, Sir. She left not too long ago, I’m afraid.”
“Do you know when she will return?” Carlisle asked, questions circling around his head, you never mentioned leaving.
Once again, the woman shook her head, “She won’t be returning, Sir. Miss L/n said she was not to return.”
Heartbroken, Carlisle almost forgot how to breathe, “She has left London?”
This time, the woman nodded, “I am afraid so, Sir, she said it was something of last minute arrangements, she was adamant there could be no postponing. She mentioned something about Scotland, or Germany.”
Then, right there and then, Carlisle was certain his heart had broken into a multitude of pieces, never to be pieced together again. Had it been something he’d done? Weren’t the two of you getting along well?
• 1936, Forks, Washington •
Thirst was making your throat burn, making you agitated and irritated. You haven’t been able to slip away and hunt yet, since the work you had was piling up and unavoidable, so you had been pretty much relaying on pure luck that you wouldn’t rip open these people’s throats.
It was tempting. Really, really tempting. Especially since the majority of your co-workers were stuck-up, stubborn, assholes of men who got on your nerves on a daily basis and did not respect women what-so-ever. However, with a seemingly unbearable thirst that made your entire body beg to kill them, it became more easy for your thoughts to drift to murder and made the thirst even more unbearable. Almost as if it would kill you.
If you could get headaches, you were sure you would’ve gotten one from these idiotic people. You watched the time and counted the seconds, hoping that focusing on the time would make the thoughts of their blood fade away into the back if your mind.
You barely made another minute before you abruptly stood from your stool and muttered, “Excuse me for a moment, I feel sick.”
You hastily left before anyone could say anything, then when you exited the building and was out of site, you ran towards the woods in hopes to find literally any animal.
You, centuries ago, decided to feed only on animals after slaughtering a family of four in the late 1500s and going into the early 1600s. The guilt still pulls at you randomly, which is why you started studying sciences, history and art wherever allowed women to have an education.
When you had gone far enough from the town, you tried to find anything. Luckily, there was a deer close, the pure smell of its blood had almost sent you mental.
Without even hesitating, you ran towards the sent, making it run from the loud rustling you caused. However, it didn’t get far because you had mercilessly murdered it and started feeding on it before it even fell to the floor.
You might as well have been a newborn with the way you were acting, impulsive and without a second thought. Well, perhaps this would have been a lesson to regularly feed instead of putting work first.
When you had your fill of the deer, and it was completely drained of its blood, you had stood from your space and simply started walking. You weren’t ready to go back to your workplace, certain that if one of those bastards said something stupid again, you would kill them and probably end up getting hunted by the Volturi from the inevitable frenzy it would send you in.
You had been in the of calming yourself down when you heard the very distant noise of footsteps, fast ones. Panic hit you almost instantly, you hadn’t been aware of other vampires in Forks.
Listening attentively, you prepared yourself for a fight. Often, vampires were somewhat territorial, if you’d accidentally wondered onto another’s land, you were expecting a fight. Usually, you were always aware if there were other vampires. However, clearly, you were not as careful this time.
However, you became terrified when you started hearing four pairs of footsteps. You definitely couldn’t fight four vampires, not by yourself anyway. Sure, your ability was good, but it took a lot of effort to hypnotise one person - let alone four.
Wiping the small specs of blood from your mouth, you spun your head around, scanning your surroundings. They were definitely getting closer, no doubt about that.
In seconds, four vampires appeared in front of you. One with short black hair - almost a buzz cut -, one with brunette hair, one with long blond hair and the last one, oh, the last one you knew too damn well.
“Holy shit…” You muttered, “Carlisle?”
If vampires could cry, you knew you would start sobbing right there and then. Ugly crying like you had done so when you were being turned over four hundred and fifty years ago.
“Y/n?” Carlisle asked, as if you’d been a ghost. Maybe, in his eyes, it was all you were. A phantom, a ghost, something of the unimaginable.
You took a step closer to the four, each eyes clouded with utter confusion, then Carlisle's whose eyes were clear with a multitude of emotions, “If I had known you’d been bit, I would have helped you.”
You were hesitant to hug him, even though all you wanted to do was tackle him down and feel his arms around you.
“Carlisle, who is this?” The woman with blond hair asked, she seemed hesitant to trust you and seemed defensive - as if ready for a fight, even if Carlisle knew you.
Carlisle’s eyes did not move from yours, a faint smile on his face as he recalled memories from lifetimes ago, “An old friend, from before I turned.”
This time, Carlisle walked closer to you and in a second, he’d wrapped his arms around you and had you in a tight embrace. It seemed so odd to feel his warmth completely replaced with coldness, he'd finally matched your temperature, you didn't find him warm and he didn't find you cold anymore.
You completely melted in his arms, breathing in his scent and closing your eyes in content, you'd never hugged him before, you and him had only exchanged quick and harmless touches of the hand when you knew him as a mortal. It was nice. “I’m so sorry I left, Carlisle. I’m so sorry.”
He had one hand planted behind your neck, making his fingers intertwined in your hair, while his other hand was rested on your back. You knew you would have felt chills go up your back if you were still human, “It’s okay, I understand why you left now.”
When you let go of Carlisle, he let go as well, though, you could tell the man was hesitant to let go. You took a few steps back and took in the other three’s appearance. They all had one thing in common, yellow eyes - one that always reminded you of gold, meaning they all fed on animals like you.
“Hi.” You awkwardly said to the three teenagers, “Sorry to intrude.”
“Who are you exactly?” The brunette haired boy asked, he seemed tense, he didn't trust you and you assumed he must have been one of the eldest - taking Carlisle out of the equation.
You awkwardly fiddled with your hands, a habit you’d had since you were human, “My name’s Y/n, I met Carlisle a few hundred years ago.”
The three exchange looks with each other, then the blond woman looked back at you, her voice was cold. Sharp, "How come we have never heard of you?"
That was when Carlisle spoke up again, turning to the younger vampires, "I thought she was dead." Then he turned to you, "I looked for you, but after you left for Scotland, there was no trace of you."
You stared at Carlisle for a few seconds, did you feel relief or upset that he knew where you had left for? "You knew I left for Scotland?"
"Yes." He simply said, "One of the women who worked for your friend told me, but also mentioned something about Germany."
"Ah, yes." You smiled softly at yourself, looking at your boots. It was almost as if you reminiscing over those sweet, old memories, "Miss Delphine, a sweet lady, a shame I had to leave in such a hurry." You looked back up at Carlisle. "I was headed to Scotland, but I knew I was going to go further, just in case."
When no one spoke again, and the silence grew awkward, Carlisle turned the other three, then back to you, "Y/n, let me introduce you to my family, Edward, Rosalie and Emmett."
You nodded at them nervously, you were never good at introductions, even when you were expected to do them so frequently due to your consistent moving. “Hello.”
There was an odd silence between the five of you, but Carlisle was quick to end the awkwardness. It must have been odd. He had spent this much time by himself, believing that a dear friend of his was dead, only to find out you were perfectly fine - well, aside from the fact that you were a walking corpse for over four hundred years.
It was odd for you, you knew that too damn well. After all these centuries, beating yourself up for the unfavourable situation you and Carlisle were given - him having been a human when you met and you being a vampire. You had loved him for so long, never being able to get his damned voice out of your head, his smile, his face.
He was different from when you last saw him, that was one of the many things you were going to have to wrap your head around. His eyes were no longer their beautiful previous colour, now replaced by the shining gold colour you both now shared. He was paler than before, matching your frozen temperature and you could no longer smell his blood. Perhaps, you could be grateful for not having to take in the scent of his blood - it was a struggle for you all those years ago, and still arose as a problem even after centuries of living as a vampire.
"You three should head back home." Carlisle suggested to the three teenagers, they seemed hesitant at the thought, so Carlisle continued. "Please, me and Y/n have catching up to do."
It was took them a few moments to trust that Carlisle had faith in you, trusted that you wouldn't pose a threat of any kind. It was only when Carlisle made eye contact with the Edward boy, giving him a small nod. Edward had taken only a few, short seconds to give an approving nod, before speeding off with the two other hesitant vampires.
When the two of you were alone, really alone, you both simply stared at each other. Both of you wanted to say something, anything. But how could you? It had been around three hundred years since the two of you last each other, what if that spark between you two had died out? What if you two could no longer hold a meaningful, flowing conversation like you did before?
"Carlisle, I-" You only sighed out quietly, rubbing you eyes with your hand. "I've missed you, so much."
Carlisle only gave you a small smile, he took a step closer to you. "I have too."
You looked up at his golden eyes, you would miss his old coloured eyes - you decided - because you had found his previous eye colour so mesmerising, so different from yours. You wouldn't have wanted this cruel fate for Carlisle, never in your entire immortal life. Though, how bad could it really be? He was like you now, there's was no longer anything stopping you from trying to rekindle that old flame that burnt in your cold, dead heart for him.
You swiftly wrapped your arms around Carlisle, hugging him tightly. It wasn't long before his arms around around you, too. It had been the first time you two had ever hugged in the long time you've known each other. It held up to your expectations, to say the least.
"I don't want to lose you, Carlisle." You admitted quietly. "Not again. I don't want to leave your side, not like last time."
"I don't want that either." The blond replied almost as soon as you stopped talking, he didn't even want you to move from his embrace. "So don't leave my side."
"And stay?" You asked slowly.
"Stay for good." Carlisle said, looking down at you as his hands moved to cup your face. "Please."
"You mean join your coven?" You asked in a hushed voice, looking up at him as he looked down at him. Your question only resulted in a quick nod from him, even if non-verbal answers always seemed so confident.
You wasted no time in leaning upwards and placing your lips onto his, closing your eyes as you kissed him, which he kissed back as soon as your actions registered in his head.
The best part about being a vampire was that you two didn't need to breathe, which meant you two could have stayed like that for a few moments. However, when you parted your lips, you looked up at him.
"I'm never leaving your side again."
