i genuinely hate how people have to sit and write a post that stands out while boosting a fundraiser because most people won't bat an eye at the misery and inhumane conditions Palestinians are living in.

i see people making art and telling others to use it because fundraisers with art are generally reblogged more often. i see people using colored text in order to make the post more eye catching.

palestinians on instagram are using popular audios and stitch trending reels at the beginning to make the world pay attention to them. imagine having to make something look entertaining in order to survive.

they are living under constant threat of israeli airstrikes, bombing, scarcity of food and disease. many have lost a lot in the past few months.

palestinians on tumblr are posting their pictures and the horrible conditions in which they are living. they travel long distances for internet connection only to be called a scammer by some privileged ass who cannot locate gaza on a map.

For those who don’t know me, my name is Alaa. I’m a husband and a father from Gaza, and I’m so grateful to be raising two beautiful children, Maram, our lovely 6-year-old daughter, and Ayman, our energetic 3-year-old boy. We are also eagerly anticipating the arrival of our third child, a baby girl, who is due in just a couple of months. My wife is seven months pregnant, and while we’re filled with excitement, we’re also feeling the weight of the challenges ahead.

One of the things we’ve been discussing is what to name our new daughter. We wanted something that feels similar to Maram, but we’re still undecided. There are so many lovely names that could be perfect for her, and we’d really appreciate any suggestions or advice.

That said, choosing a name is the least of our worries right now. The reality of preparing for our baby’s arrival in the middle of a war is overwhelming. We have no baby clothes, no mattress, and with the current war, basic necessities like diapers and baby formula have become unaffordable for us.

I’m thrilled and thankful that we’re expecting a new addition to our family, but as a father, the fear and worry about how we’ll care for her, along with our two other children, are constant. We are displaced from our home, I’ve lost my job, and our savings have run out. Every day, I wonder how I will protect and provide for my family in these impossible circumstances.

Please help Bisan!

Last week I made a post to raise awareness my friend Bisan Al-Balawi, who I've been speaking with for some time. She is trapped in Gaza with her family facing immense hardship due to the destruction of her home and life, the onset of winter, and the continual threat of violence. Originally, she made fundraiser primarily to buy a new tent to replace the one her family currently lives in, which is damaged by the elements and unsuited to protect them from the coming cold.

However, since then, the situation has become more urgent. Bisan, who has been working day and night to try and find food and water for her family, was hospitalised with malnutrition just this week. Her life is in danger. Her situation is unsustainable without outside help—help that we can provide.

Bisan needs £8,000 both to buy the tent her family needs and also help pay for vital necessities such as food and medicine. This is not something that can wait a long time. Currently, she is only at £1,774 of that goal. Compared to other fundraisers this is very achievable. Just this week I was able to dedicate the spare money from my paycheck to her campaign, and I know that a lot of you also have steady paychecks and cash to spare. i have one more request from you all today. aya, who i have posted about many times before, is distressed because her gofundme campaign manager -- who lives in the netherlands -- is wary of the legal situation of sending funds from the netherlands to gaza, and wants to shut it down soon. this is devastating news for aya, as the funds received from this campaign have fed her, her children, and 15 other family members for a while, and she's terrified that they'll starve once the campaign is closed. so, we're trying to make a final push to get as many donations as we can to aya so that they will have some money to continue surviving. i'm trying to find other alternatives to help aya and her family, but in the meantime, please donate if you can, and spread this fundraiser if you can't.
