Necessary disclaimer: I love Aziraphale; he's a lovely and complex character with a lot of nuance and value. This is not me slandering him or placing Crowley on a pedestal, but rather throwing in my two cents and adding an alternative perspective. I mean no disrespect here! (Please don't yell at me; I will cry.) While his heart may have been in the right place, pleading with Crowley to return to the place where he was abused and abandoned (and in a way, killed, if you consider the Starmaker a character of their own), justified Crowley's response. I completely understand why he'd leave the bookshop. If someone I loved and trusted begged me to return to the place in which I was brutalized (and also essentially questioned my intelligence for not wanting to do so: "I don't think you understand what I'm offering you"), I would likewise turn them down and leave the room (if only to catch my breath). In the case of Crowley, he doesn't even leave leave, as we see him waiting outside the bookshop. If he had driven away immediately, I wouldn't have blamed him either—he's been caught in this hot/cold/push/pull dynamic with Aziraphale for eons and he's just been called "one of the bad guys" (again). I would also be overwhelmed and upset! I see what you mean by Aziraphale not wanting to be a bystander, and that's valid! Although I'm of the mindset that the system is fundamentally flawed and can't be changed, there's no denying that Azi has a good heart. At the same time, I think we also need to acknowledge the weight of what he's asking Crowley to do and the impact that might have on a person. (I would expand on this and a couple other points, but my brain is really tired at the moment, sorry!)

Crowley is the one who left, not Aziraphale.

Aziraphale wanted Crowley to go with him, not because he wanted to return to Heaven, not because he’s traumatized and being gaslit into going back to his abusers, and not because he’s naive. He wanted to go back because he knows exactly how toxic Heaven is and if he ran away with Crowley instead of trying to dismantle that hierarchal structure of abuse, he would be a bystander. He would be choosing his own comfort above everyone else’s in the world and he WOULD NOT BE THE PERSON WHO CROWLEY FELL IN LOVE WITH!!!

What Aziraphale is doing does not make him a fool. It doesn’t make him a bad person and it DEFINITELY doesn’t give s3-era Crowley any right to reject/be furious with him given that Aziraphale asked, even BEGGED Crowley to go with him. Together. so they could help make sure no one else has to go through the trauma they both did. Crowley’s choice, while understandable, was the selfish one (especially because he got angry and made it seem like Aziraphale was going back for power, like he was an “idiot”, instead of understanding and explaining he couldn’t go with him but that that doesn’t make Aziraphale’s choice any less valid). Aziraphale was the one brave enough to risk his safety and eternal happiness because he knew it was the right thing to do. And he wasn’t the one to walk away from their relationship— Crowley was. So before we start hating on Aziraphale maybe we should reconsider what made us (and Crowley!) fall in love with him in the first place.

BOWLING HEADCANONS DO TELL

YIPPEE ok so i gave my hcs in the comments of that post but they were sooo long & they couldnt compete w the word limit . here's a long post ab things aziraphale & crowley would do in bowling

(i bowled through most of high school & have been in several leagues so i do think i'm the supreme ineffable husbands bowling authority /j)

OK so starting off w aziraphale:

aziraphale would probably rly like the whole bowling fashion (prob old bowling fashion the newer uniforms r waackk) & he probably got into it sometime in the 1980s range of time. i feel like he'd have one of those purse-looking bowling bags that're handheld and only carry one ball.

in my mind, aziraphale doesn't throw with much hook, so he only rly needs one ball. he probably throws w the most insane mind boggling eyes bulging out of ur head ball speed so a hook would be pointless anyway

i feel like aziraphale would join a bowling league & spend the whole time girlfailing at talking to ppl but his team doesn't mind cuz even tho he's a loser & his approach is rly dainty he throws a pretty good game

also aziraphale would b obsessed w that little fan in the ball return & rosin bags he'd b using them nonstop. also he puts blue bowlers tape on his thumb

aziraphale started off being excited after every throw, but soon discovered that all of the good bowlers would have subdued reactions and cooly give their friends fistbumps or high fives after good throws, so he tries to be more like that. he's not always very successful but he tries

moving on, i have insanely strong feelings ab bowling crowley

1st of all he'd totally wear a wrist brace cuz he has the weakest wrists & joints & i just need him to put that thing on his hand . when he was starting out he probably hurt his wrist cuz he couldn't keep it bent during his throw & the discovery of the bowling brace was like nirvana for him

i feel like crowley probably got into bowling cuz aziraphale told him that the game mostly involves being sour every time u throw a good ball & crowley thought that was funny. he probably has one of those tryhard rolling bowling bags that can carry 3 or 4 balls

i don't think he'd join a league but i do think that everyone wants him to so badly cuz he's so stone cold after every shot & the other bowlers think thats cool. crowley mostly bowls alone or w aziraphale just cuz

i feel like his hook would be insane . like crossing the lane, has to stand all the way to the left for his approach insane. his balls each have a varying level of hook, and he probably has a specific cleaning regimen for each one to keep them at the optimal level of oily for each game

And I’m so glad to see that you also hated the show lmaooo I was such a devoted GO fan before the show freaking yeeted me out of my year-long hyperfixation. If NG actually reread his own book the show would’ve been better imo. I also feel like he doesn’t rly care about characterization at all, or other (human!!) characters beside Aziraphale and Crowley who SHOULD HAVE ALSO BEEN IN S2, given how he handled the Dove TM and how, at this point, the show has become the new Supernatural. I’ve forgotten how disappointed I was with the show when it first came out and S2 served as a perfect reminder.

Season 2 really played as if Neil Gaiman has never read Good Omens. I was telling my friends that my ideal Good Omens sequel would have been Adam all grown up and living a banal human life, until one day there is another crisis on Earth, and Adam has to come out and save it once again -- because he's the goddamn antichrist after all. Meanwhile, Aziraphale and Crowley are still off to the side trying to help but actually doing absolutely fuck all 🤣 I just think Aziraphale and Crowley should never have been the main characters. I was even shocked about that a little in season 1 because I didn't think of them as the main characters from the book. I think making them the main characters in the show ultimately led to the "they are actually important and high-rank" concepts that we hated so much, because god forbid you have main characters who are loser nobodies who fail at everything they try to do 😂

I believe this is our first meeting with heaven and hell ever since the rebellion... am i correct? {Micheal and Uriel exchange uncomfortable look at the opposition, Uriel feels like something is off... however they can't put their finger on what it is, however they feel as if something will happen between them and the demon in the yellow coat? what was their name again? ah yes, Hastur}

Beelzebub: yes, indeed it is archangel if you weren't so idiotic you would have known this beforehand. {Beelzebub gives a dangerous glare to Gabriel who returns back a sarcastic smile} Uriel: ok, enough with the small talk we need to get onto matters with the suspected traitors.. Micheal: yes, i have been given some complaints regarding the demon Crowley and the angel Aziraphale? Beelzebub: i have not heard of this? Dagon is this true. Have you gotten any complaints recently? {Beelzebub says this while remaining full eye-contact with the supreme archangel causing him to look away in a flustered hurry.} Dagon: yes, I gave it to you on last week and i reminded you throughout this week.

Tbf and this is an unpopular opinion in the fandom and I get why, I've thought since my second watch (I always focus more on the main plot or characters the first go, then do a second watch for the details, side characters, etc) that if anyone was decently set up for a redemption arc it was Gabriel.

Okay let me explain that lol.

Gabriel is kinda different from the other archangels. Sure, he's still distanced, still mocks Aziraphale's hobbies... But he's also the only one who also has not one but two earthly hobbies. I think he doesn't eat because he's kinda scared it's Gluttony since he doesn't need it. But he also doesn't need jogging or clothes, and to me that looks like the Well Actually excuses of a very very early Aziraphale. He's not a hypocrite and a liar like Michael, who wants to kill Aziraphale for a crime she's guilty of. Not sadistic like Sandalphon. And he can be cruel, but more in an oblivious way than deliberately like Uriel does. Beelzebub did way more harm than him -both were pissed at the airbase but Bee told Satan about it while Gabriel just huffed and puffed.

During the execution he just wants to get it over with and more importantly, I think, when Crowley spits hellfire at them, Gabriel yanks Uriel and Sandalphon behind him and shields them with his body even though it's just as lethal to him. His first instinct is to protect his siblings.

Besides the fact that he can be obnoxious and rude, I think the real problem is that he's way too convinced that he's doing the right thing. He's genuinely flabbergasted when Crowley suggests that She may have different plans and I think the 'God doesn't play games with the universe' 'Where have you been??' exchange is very revealing. (God Herself admits She does lol). God hasn't talked to the angels for ages, and Gabriel is the Messenger. He's still operating on a very old plan because he thinks if it had changed he would be the first to know. But nobody is because God has fucked off the premises and only left the equivalent of a voicemail machine. Gabriel didn't have a Crowley to help him shake off Heaven's programming, and I think a lot of people forget Gabriel is programmed too. He's higher on the hierarchy but he's been taught the same rote and he believes it wholeheartedly (Michael doesn't, see back channels).

So even though I enjoy villain! Gabriel stories because there's a great setup for them, precisely because aside from a few details he's a blank sheet, I love redemption arc stories because that setup is there too. What if he gets to discover and enjoy more of Earth, rediscover himself outside of his role, rebuild his life now that the plan he followed blindly is moot? What if he feels lost, unmoored, and trying to recover he becomes better? Idk I just feel like out of all the others, he has the most potential for that kind of thing. So even though he did worse things in Myosotis than in canon, I'm like 👀 at his pain and where this goes.

It’s not impossible that Gabriel will receive his redemption arc in canon (or maybe an arc where he gets kinda redeemed but he’s still kind of an asshole and no one rly wants to spend much time with him lol), based on the stuff we know about him so far. I agree with some of your points!

But my opinion for canon may not necessarily reflect within this Myosotis: Falter, I keep these two separated!

(The Gabriel in my GoodGardenerAU actually does get sorta redeemed (in the way I mentioned above) but I've barely shown him so far so I won’t open that box for now,,,,)

I…have mixed feelings. (Btw, SPOILERS FOR GO S2 so dont read if you plan to watch ;-;)

On one hand, ITS SO FUCKING TRAGIC AAAH WTF THE ANGST THE HURT HOW COULD THEY. I already knew the ending from tumblr, but man that made me cry :((( It was MASTERFULLY DONE but IT HURT and not even in a good way (like for example reading a rly good angst fic)!

But on the other hand…i guess from a plot perspective and a series making perspective, putting a cliff hanger per se would technically be logical. And THE ANGST!!! I feel like it’s building up on a lot and addressing Aziraphale’s mixed feelings about heaven & its bad management of earth, as well as him balancing that with his relationship with Crowley.

On a general level tho, i feel like they should not have done the ending. They could have ended on a positive or even ambiguous note, but NO they decided to end it on a FUCKING TRAGIC NOTE ALMOST RUINING 6000 YEARS OF ONE OF THE SLOWEST BURNS!

finally watched the star beast episode

last time i really watched alot of doctor who was like when that old guy was the doctor checks notes peter capaldi. was rly fun. dont remember much but i remember liking it. i then stopped watching it for no reason.

and then oh woman doctor now so i went to check it again. watched a few episodes but didnt really get me interested with it again so i just completely stopped again. BUT NOW FUCKING AZIRAPHALE (EDIT: CROWLEY. I AM FORGOR IM SORRY) IS THE DOCTOR AGAIN NOW ?!?!? THE SAME MONTH I FINISHED WATCHING GOOD OMENS TOO ?!?!

and the episode itself i dont know what to say. actually i do lol. i thought bbc is transphobic ? how the hell did this get through.

i am not complaining though. that was fucking awesome. definitely gonna watch the next episode when it comes out
