i love the foreshadowing in yellowjackets, i love how mundane things or simple dialogues can have a heavy weight. i rewatched a few weeks ago and found this:
so on ep 7 s1 we follow taissa’s group and their adventure to find help and get out of the woods and we have this conversation
then, in episode 10 jackie refuses to thank the wilderness for the dead bear. it didn’t mean that she was going against shauna or any of the girls, she was skeptical at first and the seance session was a joke to jackie
this always gets me into thinking, what if the wilderness does choose and the only way to find forgiveness and get a chance to survive is by believing in it. because we know what happens if we go against it
and when they see the consequences, the skeptical ones turn into praying, thanking and asking for the help.
whether you feel like it saves you from the infinite torment
ep 5 s2
or because it shows you just how powerful and loyal it can be
ep 9 s2
i don’t know if anyone has mention this before but i wanted to write about it and give my take on it. if you have any theories about it im all ears eyes

Geralt of Rivia rode through the dense, ancient Caed Dhu forest, his silver hair glistening in the dappled sunlight that filtered through the leaves. He had been on the path for days, following rumors of a dangerous creature that plagued the nearby village.
As he ventured deeper into the woods, he couldn't shake the feeling that this particular hunt would be different.
In the heart of the treacherous Caed Dhu, Geralt of Rivia, the renowned Witcher, found himself in a dire predicament. A contract had led him deep into the ancient woods, where he faced a foe more formidable than any he had encountered before. The beast, a grotesque hybrid of wolf and wyrm, had proven to be a match for Geralt's skill and swordsmanship.
As the moon hung low in the night sky, Geralt's silver sword clanged against the creature's impenetrable scales. The battle had raged for hours, and his strength waned with every strike. Blood oozed from numerous wounds, staining his armor and leather boots. His trademark white hair clung to his sweat-soaked forehead, and his golden eyes burned with determination.
But in a moment of miscalculation, the beast lunged forward, its jaws snapping shut around Geralt's forearm. Pain seared through his body as his bones cracked, and he let out a roar of agony. With a swift, desperate maneuver, he wrenched his arm free, leaving shreds of flesh in the creature's maw.
Battered and bloodied, Geralt knew he was outmatched. With a heavy heart and aching limbs, he made a fateful decision. He turned and sprinted through the darkened forest, leaving behind the monster he could not defeat. His every step sent waves of agony through his injured arm, but he pushed himself to the limit.
As he escaped, he couldn't help but reflect on his countless battles, his victories, and his unshakable resolve. Yet, this time, survival took precedence over valor. The Caed Dhu closed in around him, a labyrinth of twisted trees and shadowy threats. Geralt, the fearless Witcher, ran for his life, vowing to return to face the beast another day, once he had healed and prepared for the inevitable rematch.
Deep within the heart of the dense and mysterious Caed Dhu, Geralt of Rivia stumbled upon an unexpected sanctuary. The cabin's solitude was a haven for a Witcher in need, a sanctuary where he could mend his battered body and prepare for the inevitable return to the treacherous wilderness.
The cabin stood as a solitary sentinel in the depths of the forest, its timeworn facade hidden beneath a canopy of thick foliage. With aching limbs and a resolve unyielding as steel, Geralt pushed open the creaking door and stepped into the dimly lit interior.
Inside, the air was heavy with the scent of herbs and alchemical concoctions. The flickering candlelight revealed a modest yet well-equipped witch's lair. Shelves lined with vials of potions and bundles of dried herbs stretched to the ceiling. A cauldron simmered with a mysterious brew, its aroma tinged with both magic and healing properties.
He needed rest and healing. Inside the cabin, a fire crackled in the hearth, casting a warm glow across the room. The scent of herbs and potions filled the air, a telltale sign of a fellow witch's presence. He knew he wasn't alone.
From the shadows, your hooded figure emerged, revealing the gentle features of a young witch. You had been tracking his progress and had prepared the cabin for his arrival.
He got a closer look of you, which allowed him to see the medallion of the Viper, which matched your dark green eyes, that were glistening under the candle's light. You were, definitely, one of the few Witches left after the Trials that erased most of them from the surface of Earth.
Without a word, you approached Geralt and began to help him remove his clothes, your touch gentle yet firm. As the clothing fell away, his battle-worn body was exposed, covered in cuts and bruises. He hissed in pain as you examined his wounds.
"I'll take care of you, Geralt," you murmured softly, your voice soothing. You mixed herbs and applied salves, tending to each injury with practiced care. Your fingers moved with a grace born of years of training.
Geralt watched you work, silently grateful for your presence. The pain began to ebb away as your healing magic flowed through him, knitting his flesh together.
Once the wounds were tended to, you stepped back, your eyes meeting his yellowish ones with a warmth that belied the harsh world they inhabited.
"Rest now," you said, guiding him to a nearby bed. "You've earned it."
As he lay down, his body slowly relaxing, Geralt couldn't help but feel a sense of gratitude for the kindred spirit who had tended to his wounds. In a world filled with darkness and danger, he had found a glimmer of light and solace in your healing touch.
Also, your touch brought up a slow burning fire within him, making him feeling the need in his body to bring you closer, to lick you, to taste you. He needed to show gratefulness by giving pleasure to you after healing him with such care and knowledge... as if you knew exactly how his body reacted to each one of the remedies you were using. That made the White Wolf groan in approval.
He couldn't help but grab your wrist before you stepped back, not applying so much pressure to hurt you, but enough strength to keep you where you stood. Your breath hitched in the back of your throat, making you stare back at his intense stare.
He started slowly and gently rubbing your inner wrist, where your pulse was accelerated, with his thumb calming it, you, without words, and no further movements needed.
"You're safe, Geralt. You made it home. Let me go, and you rest." You whispered, not wanting to break the calm and enchanted ambience. You don't know how you managed to sound firm, calm, steady and confident, but your tone left no doubts.
He kept staring at you, his jaw tense while the candles in the cabin lightened his skin, and you couldn't help but break eye contact and admire his body. His injured body. But, also, his fit figure.
Suddenly, Geralt pulled you into him without effort, and a groan escaped from him, low and deep. Something that made your body really happy, but you knew you couldn't risk hurting him more than he already was. You needed him fully recovered.
"If you want to keep that hand and arm, I'd suggest you let go." You had no choice but to warn him.
"I can smell you, Witch." He simply replied, his voice low and raspy, while not letting you go. You swallowed the lump in your throat, as you smelled his arousal, too. There was no possible denial in what was going around between you two, in that cabin, as the darkness of the night and the moonlit mixed with the candles surrounding you both.
With his other hand, he grabbed the Viper medallion hanging from your neck, pulling your face closer to his while keeping his firm stare at you. You could even notice the smallest of the dilation of his pupils in that position.
"After taking care of me, let me take care of your needs, witch." Geralt whispered. You knew fighting him was useless, and you couldn't deny the way your body was craving him, either. He tilted his body, not giving a flying fuck about his fresh wounds.
You stared down at his lips, and back to his eyes. He grinned a little before grabbing your medallion and pulling you close until both of your lips were a wet mess against each other, not even letting the air pass between you two.
You moaned against his lips, your groans and whines making him feel rougher and animalistic each passing second. His hands were everywhere on your body, not allowing even one millimeter of skin escape from his touch.
No previous warning, he ripped your dress from behind and continued tearing off your undergarments. You were speechless as you could only feel him. You tried touching him, but he didn’t allow that. He had you naked in front of him in a matter of seconds.
Furthermore, you looked into his eyes, waiting for his next move. "Geralt-" You were anxious for more of what he had to offer.
"You're exquisite, aren't you, witch?" He was appreciative of your exposed body in front of him, meanwhile using your condition as a pet name, which didn't annoy you at all.
He took your silence as an invitation to switch positions, grabbing you by a fistful by your long hair, having you bent over the same surface he was laying on not long ago.
Geralt directed his right hand to your pussy, moving his fingers between your folds while humming appreciatively at your wetness. The sounds filling the room, and the sights you had thanks to the little mirror that wasn't too far away on the wall in front of you, were too much to handle. It didn't take long for your thighs to begin to shake, and the White Wolf knew it too.
His hand, which was teasing you, was now wrapped around your small neck, pushing you down, taking out his digits, spreading you apart with his large girth, and slamming into your cunt.
As you wrapped your small hand around his, he tightened his hold on your neck, taking your gesture as an invitation to be rougher.
He tilted his body on top of your back, replacing the hold of his hand on your neck with his teeth burying in the delicate spot of your skin, as he kept slamming into your wetness, and you could feel his medallion swinging over you as his movement fastened, and his cock was buried deep, still pounding, into you.
"Ah, fuck, Geralt." You mumbled, not being able to keep your eyes out of the reflection in the mirror. The candles lightning his sweated skin, you underneath him as he dominated you on that unstable surface and his aura surrounding your senses.
Your hips began to move on his, as you needed that sweet relief. Geralt's bite on your neck became harder and you could feel and smell a bit of blood running down your skin, which heated up both of you even more, if possible.
His groans were louder against you, the slamming of his cock inside of you more frenetic and he dug his nails into the sides of your hips to keep you steady. He let go of your neck to press his mouth on your shoulder. "You're so fucking tight and behaving like a good girl," he moaned. "Keep milking me, witch, so I can breed you and fill you up with my cum until it oozes out."
The way he was talking to you, saying those things, had you closer to the edge. You needed to feel his cock pulsate inside of you, stretching you out and getting you full of him. Your moans were unstoppable as nonsense dripped out of your mouth.
"I wanna see those pretty thighs of yours covered with my cum." Geralt wrapped an arm around your waist to hold you in place as he circled your nipple with his thumb and index, pinching it.
“Yes, Geralt, yes." Your mind was blank, dazzled with lust and desire, almost making you forget your own name.
Your thighs began to shake, and he felt them, “Yes, witch, come all over my cock.” His encouraging, husky voice praised you. You called out the White Wolf's name, your orgasm hitting hard and uncontrollably, your head dizzy as you saw stars and lights in your vision.
You felt Geralt exploding inside of you, with a few more snaps of his hips against your ass you felt his girth tighten up, and a few more spurts of his cum filling you up as you rode off your orgasm.
"Fuck, you milked me so good, you emptied me, didn't you?" He moaned and grunted again as he felt your pussy tightening lightly on him. "What kind of witchcraft did you use on me, huh?"
He let go of your breast, not moving his position so you were still under his dominant figure while his cock rested inside of you, feeling your thighs sticky of his cum and other mix of fluids.
"Well, you loved the way I was curing you earlier and the attention I gave you, didn't you, Witcher?"
"I'm not one to turn down a healing session when I'm offered one." Geralt whispered in your ear, still not getting off you. "But what's the catch?"
You smiled, feeling chills down your spine. "The catch is, I get to pamper every inch of you and make sure you're completely healed."
"I think I can handle that kind of catch."

Babylon 5 Rewatch - A Voice in the Wilderness (Part 2)
This is a post I originally wrote several years ago for Mark Oshiro’s Mark Watches blog. I don’t really plan to edit them before posting, so there may be some references that don’t make sense. If you see words that look like gibberish, they are actually rot13, which was our way of discussing spoilers. There are plugins you can install to decode the text (Cryptext is the one I use), or you can copy/paste to rot13.com, or just ignore it.
Overall, I’d rate this two-parter as being fine. Nothing really stands out as exceptional for me (except the B5 Mantra in part 1), but there is nothing I particularly dislike either. I don’t mind watching it, which is good because it sets up certain things down the road, but there are definitely better episodes. Vg'f nyfb uneq gb nibvq pbzcnevat vg gb gur frevrf'f bgure gjb-cnegre, gb gurfr rcvfbqrf' qrgevzrag.
Now that I can talk about the main plots, I find that I don’t really have much to say. I find Captain Pierce irritating, but then again, you’re supposed to. One of the most annoying things about him is the fact that it’s actually not that bad of an idea to have a warship as backup in this situation, as we can see once the alien ship shows up, but Captain Pierce is entirely the wrong person for the job. In fact, he’s so much the opposite of the kind of person you’d want on your side in a situation like this one that he’s almost a caricature.

We find out in this episode (or at least, Draal guesses) that the reason Varn appeared to Londo, as well as to him and Sinclair, is because the three of them are most familiar with the third principle of sentient life—its capacity for self-sacrifice. I can definitely see this applying to Draal and Sinclair, but Londo? What do you guys think? Does this characteristic apply to him?
In the same scene, Delenn warns Londo seriously, “I don’t think you fully understand what Draal is asking of you.” Londo replies, “One of us will not return, yes?” This scene is trying to be super dramatic, but come on. Draal is clearly the redshirt in this situation. Not only is he the only one of the three not in the main cast, but he’s even come to the station already in the process of letting go of his old life. Attempt at creating tension: unsuccessful.
I suppose I should talk a little bit about Garibaldi’s story in this episode. It’s interesting that early on in part 1, there is a scene which really emphasizes Garibaldi’s interest in Talia (in a weird stalkery way), before dropping the subject entirely for Garibaldi to focus on this old relationship. I do like that when he asks Talia for help, there is some acknowledgement of the awkwardness of the situation and that he is completely professional and polite. This is the Garibaldi I like, and I suppose we’ll have to wait and see what effect, if any, this little interlude will have on his behavior towards Talia.

One more thing about this subplot: Garibaldi finally manages to contact Lise, and she starts to try and tell him something, but he interrupts her because he just has to get his confession of love out before he loses his nerve. Oh, Garibaldi! Don’t you realize you’re in a work of fiction, and in a work of fiction nothing good can come of interrupting someone who is trying to tell you something? You could have been saved the embarrassment if only you had recognized the trope!

Favorite scene: This episode has a few great lines scattered here and there, but not really any extended scenes that captivate me. If I can be permitted to link two short scenes across a commercial break, I’d pick Londo piloting the shuttle. He’s so clearly having a blast, but, whoops! he’s a little out of practice. Plus, there’s another great blooper involving this scene. Skip to 7:05 in the video below.

I felt like hurting myself so have some Angst
Simon didn't understand why he decided to go, maybe he felt he should be the one to personally deliver the tags to the poor woman, a woman he had only heard about once from Johnny lips. Pretty little thing he had called her, pregnant with his sons… he had just gotten the letter telling him a few days before they had set off. He had already talked to Price about taking some time off to be with her, Simon had remembered how happy he was to see his wife.
His tags clutch in his hands, dead brown eyes looking down at the small house, a small river behind it, and plenty of trees surrounding it, a perfect little safe haven nuzzled in the Scotland wilderness. His boots crunches through the sticks and leaves that had fallen, every step closer felt like he was disturbing the perfect sanctuary that Johnny had created for himself and his family.
He stood and stops at the outline of the trees, where he finally see her. Johnny's words ring in his head, pretty little thing, She was down right gorgeous. He watches her with a little too much interest, she was only hanging some clothes and linens up but he just couldn't help to stare. The urge to move closer to her, to talk to her… yet anytime he tried, the feeling of crossing a boundary he wasn't ready to cross.
He knew he took the easy way out when he heard the pain cries and screams. He left the dog tags and the official letter of John Mactavish being K.I.A at the edge of the forest but in view for her to see them. As he walks back, he listens to her heartbreak it was the least he could do after taking such a cowards way out and simply hiding. A part of him knew he would her her screaming, he would rewatch Johnny's death in his dreams and the only sound he would hear would be her's.

Can you describe the dynamics of jackienat?
I know it is not naty bully jackie and jackie start crying like people are characterizing it in their fic.
ofc 😁 i can write some bullet points on the way i see it
keep in mind that i haven’t had time to rewatch the show so maybe some details might be off lmaoo if there's anything i forgot to add u can lmk
i honestly don’t think they’d bully each other at all 😭 i see that more as a headcanon. i know that many people like to think that since nat is an “outcast” and jackie is the stereotypical popular blonde girl, they would pick on each other and stuff, but i disagree. although they do fit those stereotypes in terms of looks, that doesn't necessarily dictate their actions lmaoo.
on the show, you can see that most of the times that jackie was portrayed as a brat or an asshole was through shauna's perspective/narration or when she was calling everybody out for doing weird shit, like when the girls almost killed travis and then pretended that it didn't happen.
the one time i remember jackie being actually mean was when she lashed out and called nat a slut for sleeping with travis instead of getting food, which obviously was wrong because she was in fact mean, but haven’t we all lashed out at someone at some point? that doesn't mean u're a bad person 😭 this explains it more in-depth.
and in general, regardless of jackie's stubborn attitude when adjusting to the wilderness, you can see that she's a very nice person. for example, it's evident when she helped misty put on makeup and told her that she deserves to be loved, or when she gave her last piece of food to shauna cuz she was feeling sick. not only that, but most people also acknowledge that she's a nice person. for instance, when the girls were talking about excluding allie, someone said not to tell jackie about it, probably because she wouldn't be cool with doing that. the coach chose her as the team captain because she influences and motivates people. and when shauna noticed jackie's stubborn behavior after the crash and gave her the pep talk, she said, and i quote, that she “makes people feel like things are gonna be okay just by showing up, and her dumb hot awesome self" lmaoo 😭 that should be enough proof.
as for nat, i have nothing to say other than i think we can all agree with the fact that even though she puts up this strong and aloof facade, on the inside, she's very sweet and caring. despite being labeled as the "outcast" who engages in drugs, drinks, and possibly breaks the rules, it doesn't mean that she's a bully or anything of that sort. most of the times i recall her being mean or acting like an asshole were when she was defending herself because someone else had picked on her first. for instance, when tai would tease her about her addictions or when she threw the alcohol bottle at those guys who were teasing her and her friends, or during that fight with jackie, that jackie started. i know there might be other instances where she lashed out first, but i honestly don't remember right now 😭 nonetheless, i think y'all get what i'm trying to get at lmaoooo. i also don't think she'd bully anyone because she's just not that type of resentful outcasted bitch LMAOO. a proof of this is that she was always against the plan of excluding allie—and then confronted shauna about it at the bonfire when everyone started arguing 🥊🥊 my girl might be bold and blunt but she's mad chill and don't even argue with me about that 🙄
WITH THAT BEING SAID, taking all those things into account, i don't think either of them would bully the other for no reason, as they're not the type of people to go around bullying others for fun. just because nat is your stereotypical alternative rule breaker and jackie is your stereotypical hot popular girl, it's not a good enough reason to believe that they would bully each other.
NOW, let's talk about their relationship.
the initial interactions we witness between them, occurring both in the pilot and throughout the show, involve nat bringing some sense into jackie lmaoo. for instance, in the pilot, when jackie mentioned that allie's wound "might not be as bad as it looks," nat responded, "you could see her fucking bones, jackie." this highlights nat's unwillingness to indulge in jackie's optimistic—and perhaps slightly naive—outlook and shows her straightforward and blunt nature. so, right from the first episode, we start to see the contrast in their personalities.
then, the first direct interaction that we see between them is jackie telling her, "nat, i love that you don't care what anybody thinks, and you're so completely yourself." instead of viewing her as an outcast or teasing her due to her addictions like others do, jackie admires how she doesn't care about people's opinions, probably because jackie herself does care about what others think.
i don't recall seeing many (if any) deep conversations between jackie and nat that highlight their friendship more in-depth out in the wilderness. however, one thing i know for sure is that by the last episodes of the first season, jackie and nat are pretty much the only two team members not buying into lottie's beliefs. even if they did argue and have disagreements, what would have happened if nat had been present in the cabin during jackie and shauna's fight? in my opinion, nat would've definitely defended jackie. i know that there might've been some recent resentment toward jackie cuz she slept with travis the night before, but they share a similar perspective regarding not worshiping lottie, and we know about nat's blunt and outspoken nature, which contrasts with jackie's. nat would've seen jackie struggling without anyone defending her and would certainly voice her thoughts, especially when jackie confronted everyone about nearly killing travis, because nat would've agreed with her. not only that, but she could've even defended her from shauna. although it's technically none of her business, shauna was clearly coming at jackie out of jealousy, and even admitted that she slept with jeff and was pregnant with his baby. not a single person called shauna out on it, letting it slide due to their resentment toward jackie for calling them out on their weird-ass behaviour, but nat wasn't being blinded by that, because she didn't believe in that bs. i just know that nat wouldn't have let that slide. she would've shut shauna's and mari's ass in record time and left the cabin with jackie.
and nat was literally the only one who buried jackie's remains when no one else would, not even shauna, who was consumed by guilt for what happened to jackie.
if nat had intervened, jackie might probably still be alive, and we could've seen more of their friendship. perhaps they would've grown closer or formed an alliance of some sort, but i guess we'll never know 😔

Misty Quigley thoughts?
:0!! Excellent question
Been thinking alot lately about how Misty could be a representation of a Hazard ⚠️ warning in the wilderness. I think each girl represents something associated with the wilderness and its dangers— Jackie being starvation/lack of preparation, Shauna being a direct foil to that by being hunger (which I would argue is very different than starvation but that’s a whole nother post)/a reversion to primitive urges, etc.
But specifically for Misty, I think she represents those warning signs you see at the front of the entrances to forests/the wild. Turn Back, Do Not Enter, Certain Death Ahead. One of my not as solid points for this is just how much yellow the show puts her in— and yes, most of the cast is in yellow, but (if my memory from several rewatches serves me correctly) she is the one most absorbed by it, at least in season one. Even before the plane crash, years before, we are given an insight to her room, which is, well—
The most yellow bedroom I’ve ever seen.
She has always been a person that is manipulative, smart, dangerous, even as a child. She takes the hate she receives and turns that into fuel for her to work harder for acceptance from her peers, and no matter how much she fails she just keeps going, and going, and going, despite all signs to turn back.
She joins soccer probably as a way to meet other girls, only to be assigned team manager/water boy. And instead of getting upset and quitting, she uses their blindness to her skills as an advantage. She is in a pretty replaceable role (feel free to correct me as I’ve never played a sport lol) and instead of taking the “hint,” (turn back. Do not enter. Certain social death ahead) she fights to make herself irreplaceable. She cheers the loudest, is the first to try and fix Allie’s leg, is constantly by Ben’s side ready to receive directions.
During the plane crash in the script, it’s noted that when Misty sees Lottie and Laura Lee grasp for each other, she realizes how alone she is. She is shown that in the wilderness ahead, she will have no friend. No guide. No path out. (TURN BACK. DO NOT ENTER. CERTAIN DEATH AHEAD.) And, again, instead of submitting to the crash around her, she comes out of the plane BLAZING, ready to help and save the other girls. She isn’t scared of the very real danger that is the wilderness. She thinks she can overpower it, make it submit like everyone has made her submit.
Now, we have to talk about *sigh* the Ben situation. I would argue he— at least, at the beginning— is the only one not fooled by Misty’s overall confidence towards them and him surviving. He is pessimistic (which is. Valid lol) towards her and her help, and when she tries to approach him in a sexual manner (which I believe is influenced by past abusive experiences she may of experienced but that’s just my hc) he completely dismisses her. Which is what he should do, even though I do think he could have said it in a “nicer” way but that’s a whole nother post.
You know what does make him submit, though? His fear of her. No one else is scared of her, has given her this power to show her raw power/darkness. So, when he rejects her, she tries a different route— poison. You know how some hazard signs notify hikers that there are plants that look almost exactly like non-toxic plants, and that telling the difference is impossible to someone who is unprepared/ignorant? Well.
I could go deeper into this in a separate post as I’m still playing with this interpretation of her character and haven’t written it down before, so I’m open to any ideas/thoughts/arguments someone could have for or against this interpretation :3

Bells Hells playing stardew valley
Orym - chooses forest farm, makes the cutest little garden in the shape of 2 moons. Best friends with leah because shes a character that just makes sense to him, and romances elliott because dramatic dudes with lucsious hair seem to be his type ;) he also loves the junimos
Laudna - Laudna plays co-op with imogen, and they have a really cottagecore farm. Its a wilderness farm though, and laudna will not let imogen fight any of monsters because the add to the atmosphere. Her favourite festival is the flower dance, and she loves the tailoring aspect of the game
Imogen - shes a farm girl what can i say. While laudna works on the crops, imogen will gather resources to build barns and coops and look after every animal she can afford (they all have names) she downloads a mod to make the horse look like the one she used to own
Ashton - Ashton loves the mines. Once they unlock skull cavern, he will deep dive as far as he can go and use as many bombs as possible. He doesnt usually make friends with people but eventually when fcg convinces them to he cries over shanes story just a bit.
Fearne - Fearne has a very pretty flower farm, and is invested in what is happening with marnie and lewis. Once she gets the pants she will find as many uses for them as she possibly can. Her favourite festival is the egg hunt.
Chetney - Like fearne, he is very interested in marnie amd lewis' relationship, and will try to romance marnie because he can. When he finds out he cant actually build buildings by himself he tries to steal robins job, or try to marry robin. All the bachelors and bachelorettes are too young for him.
FCG - FCG loves to make friends with people, and will memorise each persons loved gift and talk to as many people as they can every day. They try to give therapy to shane but are happy that he still gets help. He decides to move in with krobus because they have a smiley face when you hug them. Because of his attwntion to friendships, his farm mostly consists of just things needed to build relationships.
Dorian - Dorian is a pretty well rounded player, with a nice farm hes spent way to much time on. He always grows blue jazz in spring, and can never decide who to romance, (he suffered rejection from hayley at the flower dance) so he invites orym to his farm and immediately proposes, and explains this with "i need the stardrop so uhhh" orym accepts. Dorian loves the music in the game and often restarts the day just so he can rewatch the dance of the moonlight jellies.
First time doing headcanons and stuff, i saw a post with orym playing stardew in it and got inspired, ill try to find the og post if i can. Sorry for any spelling mistakes, currently very tired. Let me know if you want more of this! :D

Shannen Doherty's Courageous Life: How the 90210 Star Made It Her Mission to Inspire Others Amid Cancer Diagnosis
The actress, who died at 53 following almost a decade with breast cancer, faced life’s ups and downs with strength and humor
By JP Mangalindan
Published on July 15, 2024 02:40PM EDT
When Shannen Doherty reunited with her Beverly Hills, 90210 castmates for a 90s Con panel in Tampa, Florida in September 2023, she welled up with tears as she received a standing ovation from the audience and her castmates alike. Just three months before, the actress had shared on social media that her stage 4 breast cancer had spread to her brain. Wiping her eyes, she expressed her gratitude. “Thank you so much,” Doherty told the crowd, adding, “I have a fight for my life that I deal with every day.”
Doherty's remarkable journey ended on July 13 when she died at age 53 nearly a decade after she was diagnosed with cancer. She was surrounded by loved ones and her beloved dog Bowie. Tributes poured in, a testament to a woman whose acting career touched generations of viewers and whose cancer advocacy inspired others.
“Shannen was young and so courageous. By sharing her journey, she has helped so many,” former 90210 costar Gabrielle Carteris says in this week's PEOPLE cover story, on newsstands Friday.
Her friend and follow cast member Brian Austin Green honored her on social media: “You were a big part of my understanding of love. I’ll miss you more than I know how to process right now. Thank you for the gift of you.”
Noted Jason Priestley: “She was a force of nature.”
Even as “things turned much more difficult in the last couple of weeks, we just kept loving and hoping and supporting and fighting,” says Doherty’s friend and oncologist Dr. Lawrence Piro, who was with her in her final moments.
Still, Doherty never let her work ethic and determination diminish. On June 24 she announced on her podcast Let’s Be Clear that she was beginning a new round of chemotherapy. Just days before her death she recorded five episodes of The House of Halliwell, a Charmed rewatch podcast she was cohosting with former costars Holly Marie Combs, Brian Krause and Drew Fuller.
“Too young, too talented, too loving, too grateful, too early,” Krause said in the July 15 episode. “Shannen was just so motivated and determined to help make this show a success.”
Born in 1971 in Memphis to John Thomas, who worked in a bank, and Rosa, a beauty parlor owner, Doherty learned resilience early on. When Doherty was 8, Rosa was diagnosed with a brain aneurysm with a 10 percent chance of survival and beat the odds. “I come from a woman who was determined,” Doherty told PEOPLE in November 2023. "She impressed that upon me as a very young child."
The pair remained close throughout Doherty's life. "She is my beautiful girl and my heart," Rosa tells PEOPLE.
Doherty's family, including her brother Sean, moved to Los Angeles in the late 1970s. A few years later, when Doherty was 11, she landed the part of Jenny Wilder on Little House on the Prairie.
In 1989, she showed off her darker side in Heathers, playing a member of a high school’s popular clique. Then Doherty was cast as rebellious Brenda Walsh on Beverly Hills, 90210, where she and her telegenic costars were catapulted to a stratospheric level of fame.
Being thrust to the forefront of pop culture was surreal for the actress. During a magazine cover shoot with costars Priestley and Luke Perry in 1992, Doherty recalled being awestruck by the show's popularity. “We were all looking at each other like, ‘This is amazing,’” she said in 2008. “To be 18, 19 years old, and having a show blow up almost overnight, was overwhelming.”
As her status was rising, she remained grounded. She spent her first big check from the show helping her father, who was having health issues, pay his medical bills. “He was the example of what every man should strive to be,” she wrote last year in honor of his birthday; he died in 2010 nearly a year after suffering a stroke. “My father was the best man that ever walked this earth.”
Doherty's unabashed frankness became something of a calling card over the years. “I think that growing up on TV in the ‘90s as a woman was very different than it is currently, and I like to say that some of us sort of paved the way,” she said in 2023. “Women are taking such huge strides in the world currently. Being on 90210 and being someone who didn’t necessarily play by the rules, I didn’t placate the men in my business.”
Her 90210 costar Tori Spelling applauded her on Instagram. "She was a rebel in an era when most women didn’t feel comfortable being strong," Spelling wrote. "She always stuck up for me. Always had my back. Always believed in me when I didn’t or couldn’t believe in myself."
Actress Rose McGowan said Doherty “had the heart of a lion” in her social media tribute. “Passion for craft is often mislabeled as trouble. Shannen was passion.”
Although she was let go from 90210 after the fourth season, she’d clearly made an impression on mega producer Aaron Spelling, who cast Doherty in another of his TV projects destined for cultural relevance, the WB supernatural drama Charmed. Prue Halliwell, the eldest of three sisters-turned-witches, became another memorable role for Doherty.
The actress worked steadily in the years that followed, popping up in TV movies, starring in the short-lived reality TV show Breaking Up with Shannen Doherty and competing on Dancing with the Stars. In 2019, she appeared with several of the original 90210 cast members on the cheeky, short-lived revival BH90210.
Doherty did not have any children, though she said she “always wanted” to be a mom. She was married three times and agreed to finalize her divorce from photographer Kurt Iswarienko one day before she died. She often looked back on her romantic relationships with humor.
“Listen, Elizabeth Taylor still has me beat as far as husbands and divorces, so I’m good. I’m not there yet, so there’s no reason to be negative about it,” she told PEOPLE in 2023. “S--- happens.”
Decades of ups and downs in Hollywood had made Doherty a private person. But following her breast cancer diagnosis in 2015, she had an epiphany. “When I got cancer the first time, it was this really beautiful thing, because it finally stripped all of that away,” she said in 2020. “Those walls were, like, eliminated. That sort of childhood resentment — 19 to me is childhood — was gone.”
She revealed she was in remission in April 2017, but when she announced in 2020 that the cancer had returned, Doherty had a steadfast determination to live life to the fullest. She continued to work, raised money for breast cancer awareness, supported animal rights charities and chose to spend more time with those closest to her, including her mom, actresses Sarah Michelle Gellar and Roma Downey and real estate agent Chris Cortazzo.
"How do you possibly find the right words to sum up 30 years of friendship? I keep reminding myself it only hurts this much because, there was so much love," Gellar, 47, wrote on Instagram before urging followers to honor her friend by supporting animal rights charities, a cause Doherty cared about deeply.
In 2023 Doherty debuted her Let’s Be Clear podcast, where she was open about her career, the great loves of her life and living with cancer.
“I’m not done,” Doherty said last year. “I’m not done with living. I’m not done with loving. I’m not done with creating. I’m not done with hopefully changing things for the better.”
It was crucial for the actress to prove that people with cancer could still live full lives and make meaningful contributions. “People just assume that it means you can’t walk, you can’t eat, you can’t work. They put you out to pasture at a very early age — ‘You’re done, you’re retired,’ and we’re not,” she told PEOPLE in 2023. “We’re vibrant, and we have such a different outlook on life. We are people who want to work, embrace life and keep moving forward.”
Her experience, she said, allowed her to peer into life’s greater depths. “You really have to dig deep to face cancer, and in that you find all the stuff that you had hidden away,” she said in 2021. “And it’s beautiful things that you find. You find the vulnerability, you find your trust in people again, you find forgiveness.”
Doherty often expressed gratitude — “I wake up and go to bed thanking God, praying for the things that matter to me without asking for too much” — even as her cancer thwarted aggressive treatments like radiation therapy.
Still, “I’m not afraid of death,” she told PEOPLE in November 2023 when she revealed her cancer had spread to her bones. “I know where I’m going — and I know the people that I’m going to see."

Since today is headcanon kinda day, I would like to suggest something I thought about few weeks ago.
I was hit by nostalgia and rewatched few videos about bookcanon of Game of Thrones. One of them was about real size of Winterfell and it made me think about Exile.
I don't know if the castle in the Exile is big - you didn't specify it I think (but maybe, I should re-read it since it is one my favorite fics of yours), but... If it is big or there is free space, my headcanon is that Steve would plant a little forest within castle walls like a godswood in GOT universe. He knows that Reader would be content living in the forest for the rest of her life if she wasn't stolen by him. Her connection to nature, her ability to live off the resources the forest provided fascinated Steve and (I think) he would want her to have that land of solitude, where her soul could rest. So, he would ask to plant lots young trees as a start (I think it was possible even in medieval times to replant trees that has grown for some time), maybe also some wild flowers and forest berries to create beautiful glade in the center of the forest.
idk - but reading how devoted Steve is and how much he loves Reader even when she fights with him, made me think he absolutely would do that for her.
(Tumblr, please, don't make the ask disappear 😢)
While I didn’t specify how big it was, I love this idea of Steve giving her her own forest in the interior grounds of the castle. Its her own private escape and it helps mend bridges between them
“I told you not to look.”
“I told you I’d cut your hand off and feed it to the crocodiles.” You spur him and his attempt to scold you almost playfully, and jut back against him when he gets a little too close to your back.
And that still doesn’t stop him.
“There’s no crocodiles in this area.” Despite your warning, Steve still leans in close enough to whisper in your ear, a husky drone that elicits a shiver.
“Where are you taking me anyway? To a torture chamber? A bottomless pit?” Your spite draws a laugh from him and with his hands still covering your eyes you’re forced to put a little faith and trust in him.
“I think I’ll suspend you from the tower, make an example of you.” The teasing continues and Steve is decidingly coy about how eased he is now, and much to your dismay you find yourself relaxing around him.
Instead of commenting on the teasing nature as you perhaps should have, you avoided the immediate easement of your relationship to comment on the surprise that he had for you.
“What are you doing? Where are you taking me? And if you don’t tell me in the next few minutes, I’m going to-”
“A surprise, spitfire.” Steve embraced you fully, drawing his hands from your eyes to place them on your hips, and as your vision had come to fruition you had seen an encased forest and meadow before you.
“Your own private meadow and wilderness. Somewhere for you to feel safe with nature while being home-”
“I remember these flowers.” You departed from him immediately, drawing toward a bushel of petals and greenery that reminded you of the brook you’d cross every morning on your walk.
“And these vines…” you were at a loss for words, truly and wholly unaware of how much detail Steve had picked up on when he heard you talk about missing your freedom away from this all.
It was overwhelming to see it, no small amount of space for you to experience life as you once had and yet you were safely nestled within the confines of the castle walls. It was endless, a seamless and even compromise between the nature that raised you and the man who would be your husband.
“Steve-” you turned on your heel, silence befalling you as you watched him, gazed at him with some unreserved and unfiltered emotional shift reflecting in your eyes.
It was as if you were seeing him cast in an entirely new light, as if every ounce of bitterness had been carved away to reveal true person lingering beneath his animosity and heavy guard he had held in place.
“Do you…want to walk with me?” It wasn’t what you really wished to say, but it was something akin to the truth bubbling on your tongue.

sooo i don't know if this means anything but i was rewatching the pit girl scenes for fic purposes and in my scrubbing through the pilot to find them i realized something i never had before, which is that every SINGLE cut to a pit girl scene (other than the opening scene of course) is a cut away from natalie...
first scene
natalie going to group at rehab / pit girl being dragged and butchered (the dialogue before the scene change is natalie, time for group)
second scene
natalie at the kegger on LSD / the first glimpse of the ritual meal (this transition had always fascinated me because it is set up to insinuate that young natalie might be hallucinating misty AND because the transition to the wilderness scene is very smooth compared to the others, blurring time more than usual because young natalie hasn't BEEN there yet, she can't be remembering it, yet it looks like we're in her head a little bit); before the scene change natalie says misty?
third scene
natalie getting her car and her rifle from storage / the presentation of the food (the dialogue before the scene change is i wasn't sure how i'd feel, but i think it'll be good to reconnect with some old friends)
fourth scene
natalie watching misty leave work / the aftermath of the ritual (plus flashes of what we saw earlier in these scenes and the actual eating) and a wide shot to establish the setting
bonus round (because i was already there screenshotting and it sort of interested me) everything we cut to after each pit girl scene and the dialogue immediately following it
jessica roberts interviewing allie
allie: i'll never forget the day i heard their plane had gone missing. i mean, that could've been me.
jessica: would you say you were close with any of the girls on the team?
natalie in group
counselor: remember, anger can be good.
jeff driving jackie and shauna home from the kegger
jackie: turn on port monmouth, it's faster.
misty at work
misty: happy friday, mrs. degenaro. time for your meds. we been a good girl today?
shauna reading her journals (in her bunny pajama bottoms which clearly aren't featured in this shot but do make me insane so i can't help but mention them)
no dialogue / snippets of shauna's journal flash
#i truly don't know what this means but always cutting away from natalie feels super intentional to me!!#if you have any thoughts i would love to hear them#i have a few floating around my brain but nothing i can put into words currently other than HUH INTERESTING#natalie scatorccio#yellowjackets

omg the pure joy that just brought me ahhhh i need more. can i request an angry first kiss in the wilderness?
Yes, you may.
Lottienat drabble time!!!
Rated 17+!
Features: Lottienat angst, Lottie POV, making out, light petting, choking??? tw for blood (visually and textually)
I think i played around with the timeline a bit? Time for a rewatch!
Word count: 1242
you bleed how I bleed (but don’t let that mislead you)
Nat’s mad at her, and not for the first time Lottie has little to no idea why. She tries to help, she tries to offer comfort, she tries and tries and tries, and yet nothing is ever enough. She tries to protect Nat, and even that is enough to upset her. Travis accepts her offerings with thanks - a welcome reprieve, but arguing with Nat is like arguing with a bull. She’s stubborn, headstrong and fierce and worst of all — Lottie admires all of these traits and more.
It’s why when Nat finds her, blood dripping from the self-inflicted wound within her palm, she’s not surprised at the ire that follows.
“What the actual fuck are you doing?” Nat yells - or, it’s less of a yell than it is an exhausted exclamation.
Lottie watches as if in a sort of trance as she clenches her hand and the blood drips from her palm onto the marking she’d carved into the cavern of a tree. “I just want it to be enough,” She tries to explain, “I don’t want anyone else to - to get hurt.” To die, is what she means, but it’s too raw — everything is too raw. It’s not at all what she wants to say, but she never seems to say the right thing when it comes to Nat.
In a moment her wounded arm is snatched away, the cut stinging with the removed pressure.
“Fucking - acting like this is not going to do anything, Lottie! Can’t you see it? We’re going to fucking die out here, and instead of doing shit you’re worshipping something that doesn’t even fucking exist. It’s just us, and we have to - I don’t know, we have to do something, and you think this is the answer? Hurting yourself?”
Lottie whimpers, blood crimson as it drips onto the snow. “I’m protecting us. It will see that I’m offering myself, and it won’t hurt anyone else, and everything will be okay-“
“Nothing about this is going to be fucking okay! Jackie’s dead - she’s in a fucking meat shed, Lottie. It’s just going to get worse, and you acting fucking crazy - pulling everyone into your bullshit, that’s not helping.”
“It’s not bullshit! It was in me, and It’s in you too. You just can’t see It yet.”
Lottie sees Nat shove her before she feels it, amazed at the aggression. It’s in her, she knows it. “It’s shit like that! You’re scaring people, Lottie! There is no ‘It’! There’s just you, and this shit you’ve made up to cope, and people actually believe you. Do you know how insane all of this is?”
Stumbling a little from the push, Lottie uses her uninjured hand to brace herself against the tree moments before impact. She can’t help the grin that spreads across her lips, the shudder that racks through her when she’s pushed again, back hitting the tree harshly.
Nat’s pissed, cheeks red with cold and something else - eyebrows furrowed and fangs bared like a wild animal. Lottie hadn’t intended to get her to this point but it was always an inevitable, their butting of heads. Still, it fills her with a giddy sensation, pulls a manic laugh out of her. “I told you,” Lottie couldn’t wipe the grin off her lips if she tried. “It’s in you. You just have to set It free, Nat, and you’ll understand. All of it.”
A hand wraps around her throat threateningly, though there’s no pressure behind it. Nat’s looking at her incredulously, using an iota of strength to pin Lottie to the tree - it’s not like Lottie would fight back anyway. “You’ve officially fucking lost it.”
It’s the closest Nat had chosen to be to her aside from the pre-hunt ritual. It only serves to make Lottie more giddy, to broaden her grin.
“What’s so funny?” Nat asks irritably, now beginning to apply pressure. Lottie’s limp arm proceeds to drip blood onto the snow as if emboldened, scarlet and beautiful.
Lottie licks her chapped lips and doesn’t miss the way Nat’s eyes flicker down. “You’re shaking.” Lottie laughs, though it’s a little choked through the grip on her neck. “You’re scared It’s in you. It’s too late.”
“That’s not why I’m shaking,” Nat says, malice behind every word.
“Then why?” Lottie asks, though she’s almost positive she knows the answer.
“I fucking hate you.”
Then lips are against Lottie’s, cold and chapped and bruising, dripping with unbridled rage. It’s not innocent, it’s not sweet, Lottie’s certain it’s not how Nat has kissed Travis.
It’s quick - Nat pulls away as if she’s been burned, hand leaving Lottie’s throat as if she’s finally come to. Lottie levels her with a sickly-sweet smile. “How much?” She ignores the heaving of Nat’s chest, the way she’s biting her lips as if in restraint. “How much do you hate me, Nat?” She takes a brave step into Nat’s space, uses their height difference in an almost demeaning way.
Maybe Lottie is a little unhinged. That doesn’t make It any less real.
The act spurs something in Nat, something raw and animalistic as she yanks Lottie down by the cuff of her winter coat and kisses her again this time - more assuredly but just as fueled by anger. This kiss burns, and Lottie can’t help but hiss as she realizes Nat has bitten her bottom lip hard enough to draw blood. It smears against the both of their lips and quickly warms the kiss, the pain shooting through both Lottie’s hand and now her lip nothing compared to the euphoria of seeing Nat let go.
The kiss turns filthy, blood mixing with saliva as it turns open-mouthed, the taste of iron tinging both of their tongues.
Lottie feels Nat push her back up against the tree with her free hand, the bark rough even through the fabric of her clothes. Her bloodied hand dangles uselessly, though she doesn’t hesitate to tangle her free hand in Nat’s hair. Nat started it - she wasn’t backing out so easily.
It’s impossible for Lottie not to moan into the kiss, not when it’s this dirty, this angry. Nat’s lips are insistent, the pressure behind them making Lottie’s newly-attained wound sting even more. It doesn’t help when Nat bites again, when she dips her hand under the fabric of Lottie’s layered clothing to dig furious nails into her skin.
“Nat,” Lottie moans, sensations building until this isn’t enough, until she needs something more.
“Shut the fuck up.” Nat growls against her lips, nails pressing harder as their tongues resume their dance, Lottie’s dangling hand itching to paint Nat red with her blood.
Obediently, Lottie fights the whimper that threatens to bubble in her throat. There’s something about this Nat that isn’t like her usual self, that sends a little shock of fear down Lottie’s spine. It may be inside all of them, but within Nat It’s vicious, scathing and unrestrained.
Nat’s hand climbs Lottie’s side, scratching at the skin until she skims the underwire of Lottie’s bra. At this Lottie can’t help but murmur a “Please,” thighs clenched tight as Nat toys with her, Nat’s own sadistic grin pressed against Lottie’s lips.
When she pulls away their lips are connected by red-tinged spit, Lottie breathing heavily while Nat, aside from the flush in her cheeks, looks strangely collected - pleased for once, even.
“We should head back - get your hand wrapped up.” Nat says, like she cares.
Lottie, briefly, understands this ‘hate’ feeling.

Bimonthly Media Roundup
- Wind Breaker (Anime) - Surprised to include this 4 weeks in a row as it was a pretty simple and quick season, but I found myself going back to quite a few moments for a second watch, either to appreciate the pretty fight choreography or to aww at all the wholesome emotional moments that the "feral cat experiences love and affection for the first time and cannot handle it" protagonist gets. I still wouldn't call it a must watch or anything, it's specific brand of ridiculousness isn't going to appeal to everyone, but I had fun, I'll check out the second season when it drops.
- Alien Stage (Web Series) - Final video dropped for this portion of the Alien Stage saga, and as a whole the series was very entertaining. The music slaps every time, the characters have nice designs with tragic gay romantic entanglements, the art is super pretty and the plot was intriguing and interesting to dig deeper into. I love animatics, musicals, and music videos in general so it's perfect for me, though I suppose it would be easier to convince other people to watch it if it was an anime or webcomic, not everyone is as in to the interpretation through song and visuals with limited dialogue thing. Anyway a good time, I for one will be rewatching quite a bit.
- Mouthwashing (Video Game) - This was an interesting little single session horror game. I wouldn't say it was mind-blowing, a bit too short and simple with sometimes janky graphics, but it had some neat visual ideas, a straightforward and poignant lesson about SA Culture and Avoiding responsibility/confrontation, and produced some really stellar fanworks. It's structure keeps it interesting and it's a unique enough concept where I can see how it stuck in peoples mind, It's worth a watch/play for horror fans, especially given it will only take around 2 hours.
- The Locked Tomb Series (Books) - If I had a nickel for every piece of media on this list that contained cannibalism as a significant story beat I'd have 6 nickels. Which is kind of a lot considering there are only 9 options here. 2/3rds cannibalism ratio. Should I be worried about myself?
- One Piece Fan Letter (Anime) - Honestly the best One Piece content to come out in quite awhile. Obviously the animation style helps alot as its bright and flowy and very charming, but honestly the plot was really cute as well. In general it's nice to get Outsiders POV in the world once in awhile, and seeing how many people where positively affected by the briefest encounters with the Straw Hats/ Encouraged to follow their dreams and take risks is really nice, striking the heart of the series and tapping into the best parts of it. OP has plenty of flaws but when it's good it's really good, and you can tell this was made with a lot of love and passion for the show. Good stuff!
- Malevolent (Podcast) - Yuppers.
- Yellowjackets (TV) - So this was the big one of the month, the survivalist lesbian cannibal show has captivated me. I was actually a bit worried about the cannabalism aspect when pitching we watch it to my sister, as from what I've heard a mystery/suspense show about a group of girls whose plane crash's in the wilderness whose story alternates between the past timeline of them struggling to survive and the current timeline of some of the girls struggling to forget what happened and function normally in society with an ongoing question of "who survived and what did they do?" sounds right up both of alleys, but my sister would probably not be down for the eating eachother thing. Luckily she decided to watch it anyway and that aspect hasn't been too bad so far , though I suppose that really depends on your tolerance for that kinda thing, uh. People do get eaten. Anyway that's really underselling it, what makes the show work is it's slow build of tension, both in the past and present timelines the situations keep building until they spiral out of control with the show somehow continually making you shocked at the escalation and sheer insanity of it all. The vast majority of the cast is made of of complex and interesting women who have complex and interesting relationships to other women, which is certainly a nice change of pace. It's not all doom in gloom, there are emotional highs, characters you root for, and real sympathy for everyone involved, no matter how many bad choices they made. Plot wise it's great as well, the first season can be a little slow at times with some of the modern day plotlines but the latter half of that season and season 2 really spices things up with the adult timelines, and the young timeline is just solid throughout. Lots of fun visuals, memorable moments, and possibly a supernatural presence, though that remains to be seen. The only nitpik I can really think of that hasn't been addressed is that music hasn't really stood out so far? There's been a couple of good pop/indie tracks that were incorporated well but I can't recall any instrumental tracks that stood out, so we'll see if season 3 adds some new ones. If you're not squeamish I honestly recommend it, it's good TV.
- Dungeon Meshi (Manga) - Yup.
- Genshin Impact (Video Game) - Yes.
Listening To: Tongues and Teeth by The Crane Wives, Dream Girl Evil by Florence + The Machine, Creep by Radiohead, Ruthlessness from EPIC the Musical, The Main Character by Will Wood, Lunch, Stick Season, Feeling Good, and Too Sweet Covers by Reinaeiry, Like A Prayer Choir Version from Deadpool 3, Dial Drunk Cover by Chloe Breez, Kiss From A Rose by Seal, Could Have Been Me by The Struts.
#weekly roundup#my post#honestly the cannibalism ratio may be even higher#like if you told me there was some in Alien Stage or Genshin I would not be shocked.#Windbreakers probably clean though lmao

still rewatching beyblade with my kid brother and i have newfound brainrot about hyoma, especially after his character gets so thoroughly beaten by reiji
to see him lose his cool so completely was genuinely unsettling, and it's impressive given how late in the game reiji was introduced. they didn't take the time to build him up to be the major antagonist that he ends up being but i think that works in creating the mystery and fear of unknown that surrounds his character.
when the mechanism behind just how the "poison" works is revealed in his fight with yu, it becomes even more clear just why hyoma crumbled so thoroughly in front of everyone. even if he didn't know exactly what was happening, feeling pieces of your beyblade chip away must have been so damaging to his psyche, especially since it happened so slowly and insidiously. then when aries is revealed to be completely shattered and destroyed when it lands in front of him at the end, it's no wonder why even someone as composed and evasive as hyoma was reduced to a sobbing mess on the national stage. speaking of the national stage, while i don't think hyoma is one to let venue daunt him, exactly, the added humiliation of being toyed with couldn't have been helpful to his mental state and at least partially must have contributed to the total panic and despair we see engulf him, particularly because a big part of hyoma's fighting style is to choose terrain for maximum evasion and defensive utility (this tendency of his is why he seems to drop off so heavily in power as the season progresses-- he doesn't get weaker, but the style of battle presented are no longer the type he excels in; they move from casual and wilderness/survival battles to formal arena based competitions, which have never been hyoma's style).

DUDELZ of the Damned | Rosie of the Jungle, Pt. 1
HEY THERE PEOPLE OF TODAY AND ROBOTS OF TOMORROW! IT'S ME, CLARK!
A chill is in the air. You can feel it can't you? Perhaps you even recognize it. That same chill arrives every year right on the dot. With it comes a frightful howl in the moonlight, the only other sound to be heard. Otherwise there is a strange calmness settling around you, like the point of ease before the storm. By now the howling has stopped. It has been replaced by a different sound. Footsteps. Big, heavy, dragging, as if the figure didn't quite know how to use their legs. Perhaps it's a random passerby. Perhaps it's a rotting, frightful feature freshly risen from the grave. Perhaps it's some other, unspeakable horror waiting to pounce! Whatever it is, you're not waiting around to find out! Yet no matter how far you run, it can't be escaped. The chill in the air, the howling of the wind, the heavy footsteps, it all leads back to one thing: October is here! And with it comes the return of the DUDELZ of the Damned!
Yes weirdos, like last year, my approximation of Sketchtober has returned. I call it an proxy because there was no list of prompts. Nah, that'd be too limiting. This is yet another case where I compiled my own list of ideas, sketched them out, then used one color per picture. With all that said, let's see what spoopy scribblings await us today!
Legend says there is an ancient city hidden deep within the jungle of Africa. Many have ventured deep into the wilderness to find it, but seldom have come back successful. Or alive. This fabled city and all of its riches is at risk to becoming lost to time. Unless Rosie Stardust can find it first! Finding herself on Earth-618, the cosmic cutie becomes acquainted with a naval merchant named Paul D'Arnot, who tells her of the infamous civilization the locals call Opar. Never one to shy away from a challenge, or the chance to discover something new, the sentient spacial-anomaly tasks herself with finding the jungle's last hidden treasure. After she dresses for the trip, of course. Luckily this world is still stuck in the late 1800s, meaning she's sporting the trendiest dresses coming out of London. Luckier still, Rosie is able to befriend most creatures she encounters, so the local animals are more than willing to help. One baby baboon quickly grows to liking the Cosmic Cutie.
Needless to say, Rosie has an easier time traversing Africa than Jane Porter did. This sketch idea came about after my friend @burningthrucelluloid watched Tarzan earlier this year. He was providing commentary over on my Discord server and it got me to watch the movie again. I say, as if I needed an excuse. Disney's take on this classic story is easily one of my all-time favorite films. It features amazing animation, a sensational soundtrack, doesn't treat the gorillas like savage monsters, makes its lead hero more compelling than he's ever been, and their version of Jane Porter is hot. She's brainy, competent, managed to teach a man with no English how to speak it fluently in like a week, and voiced by Minnie Driver in her prime. You might think that's why I drew Rosie in this outfit, but really it was the realization that her curious nature and kind spirit would mean she'd get along swimmingly with the cosmic cutie. From there the image of Rosie in Jane's dress refused to leave my mind, so here we are. Actually this was my second attempt at putting this idea on paper. My first draft turned out great, save for Rosie's arms. She was meant to be holding the baboon in awe while the furry rascal looked on in confusion. Upon rewatching the movie it dawned on me that having the monkey draw the lady would be a funny reversal of roles. Either way, happy 25th anniversary to this fantastic film! I hope you all enjoy this sketch. And remember: be kind to baboons. They usually roll with backup.
BONUS QUESTION: Are you a fan of Disney's Tarzan?
MAY THE GLASSES BE WITH YOU!
