Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
omgg i love this thought <33 — context
at first, she'd ignore it, avoiding thinking about it altogether. she liked doing her own thing, so admitting her feelings, even to herself, wasn't her style. deep down, though, she knew. but whether she admitted it to herself or not, you didn't pay much mind, since she kept her cool as always.
then, a conflict started brewing inside her. on one side, she craved a real connection with you, but on the other, she preferred independence and shied away from commitment. sometimes, she'd ponder over it while watching you sleep peacefully beside her. but once she left your dorm, she'd throw herself into other things to keep her mind off it.
but gradually, she began showing her feelings through actions instead of words, even if she didn't intend to.
the first thing that gave it away was that she didn't call it quits with you after the two weeks mark. she brushed it off, saying she just really enjoyed being with you—sexually, of course. but who was she kidding? she didn't even last a week with the hottest girl on the hockey team.
around the third week, she started sleeping in. that was unusual for her; she usually slipped out before her fling woke up, or at least tried to. but now, she lingered, whether it was staying in bed longer or sitting by your window to smoke. whenever you woke up, she was there.
she cared about her self-image, though, so she tried not to do anything that seemed inconsistent with her usual behaviour. so even though she was doing these things, she'd play it off like, "my roommate’s being annoying these days. don’t feel like heading back if that's cool with you lol," and then end up staying over the entire week 😭
at first, whenever she noticed you were awake, she'd just leave without much conversation. but as time went on, you two started talking. it began with small talk, but then turned into long conversations. slowly, she started opening up to you, sharing things she hadn't with any of her previous flings. they weren't too personal, just stuff like her favourite songs, opinions on certain topics, even her favourite disney princess—yeah, she has one. it might've seemed trivial, but it meant something.
but alongside this, she started sending you mixed signals; sometimes she'd be affectionate and intimate, but then she'd pull away and act distant. the more she shared with you and the closer you got, the more distant she became at times. once, she didn't even come over for a whole week.
naturally, you started to worry because now you felt closer to her than ever before.
“it’s not that deep bruh, i’m just busy with homework. don’t feel like screwing tonight anyway,” she’d say. and her words stung, because you didn't see her as just a fling anymore. but maybe you misjudged her, and the rumours were true. maybe she really didn't give a shit.
so, of course, you started pulling away too. even when she tried reaching out and acting like she hadn't been a jerk, you kept your distance. you ignored her texts and calls, locked your door at night, and avoided her on campus.
eventually, she got the message and left you alone, moving on to the next person.
nat never admitted it, but after things ended between you two, she hardly felt satisfied with anyone else. she'd pretend she was, but truth be told, whenever she closed her eyes, she'd think of you. the sounds you made, the way your skin felt against hers, your hitched breaths against her ear—it was only when she thought of you that she'd climax.
she’d also remember those mornings you spent together, her fingers through your hair while you slept, stopping as soon as she felt you stir.
though there was still no contact, you couldn't help but notice her from afar. catching her staring at you often, she'd quickly look away, but it happened too frequently to be coincidental. it happened in the cafeteria, the locker room, even the library—what was she doing there anyway? she didn't even study.
it wasn't until some other girl got overly touchy and flirty with you at a party that nat finally reached out.
 ୨   ﹙ 🦇 ﹚drabble ୧
natalie, nursing a cheap beer in her hand, watched with silent fury as the girl wrapped her arms around you. she cursed to herself, taking a swig of her drink to calm her nerves. it was ridiculous how possessive she felt. she knew she had no right to feel jealous since she'd never even made her thoughts known to you, but there it was–jealousy bubbling beneath the surface. angry at herself, natalie pushed through the crowd, stepping between the two of you.
"excuse me," she interrupted the interaction, the other girl stepping back in surprise. her voice held a dangerous undertone, the mocking tone replaced by a sharp edge. "she’s with me."
with a forceful grip on your arm, natalie pulled you aside, leading you towards the balcony. the cool air outside felt refreshing in comparison to the warm, stuffy atmosphere indoors. she pushed you up against the railings with little effort, standing so close that her body almost brushed up against yours. her breath hung heavy in the still air, her grip tight around your arm.
“so,” she said, her tone soft yet menacing at the same time. “are you with her?”
"so?" you retorted defiantly. "why do you even care?" your words sounded harsher than intended, but you were growing annoyed. she had ignored you and now acted possessive? no fucking way.
her grip tightened around your arm, the change of tone in her voice making her serious. "don't play dumb," she said forcefully. "just answer the question."
"i'm not playing dumb, and screw you," you said angrily, moving your hand away from her grip and pushing her away. "you treated me like shit and then acted like nothing happened, and now you're being all territorial?" you asked incredulously. "what's your fucking problem? do you have any idea how much pain you put me through when you ghosted me?"
she stepped back, surprised by your sharp words. for a few moments, she stood still, seemingly stunned by your response. her face remained expressionless, but from the quick way her gaze darted to the ground, she appeared to be caught off guard. eventually, she straightened up, a bit of coldness settling in her demeanor.
"my problem?" she replied. “you’re my fucking problem!”
"why the fuck would i be the problem?" you demanded, your voice rising slightly.
"why would you be the problem?" natalie echoed, her voice tinged with frustration. "because every damn time i try to move on, i see you everywhere. i hear you and think of those days we spent together. every time i try to just go and be with someone else, i’m always thinking of you instead."
you stood there, taken aback by natalie's raw confession. her words hung heavy in the air, punctuating the tension between you. "shit, natalie," you said, your voice softer now, your anger dissipating into a mix of frustration and empathy. "why didn't you say something? we could have talked about this."
"i couldn't," she admitted frankly, her expression softening slightly. a brief silence followed, the sound of traffic below filling the air. "i was scared," she confessed. "i've never felt this way about anyone. and you know my reputation, i don't exactly fit the 'girlfriend material' mold," she added with an ironic chuckle.
"so, i stayed away," she went on. "i convinced myself i could just stick to the usual. have a fling, move on, forget. but it never worked." there was another pause, this one lasting longer than it should. the atmosphere between you grew heavy, almost like a weight pressing down. "i’ve been trying to move on from you for so long," she confessed, "but no matter how many other people i tried to be with, no one ever measured up. nothing felt the same."
"the way i could just watch you for hours as you slept beside me, the way i always looked forward to sneaking into your dorm at night, the way my hands trembled when you touched me, or the way my heart raced every time i thought about you..."
she had to pause to gather herself, her voice starting to crack and falter as she continued. "i was scared to feel that, so i avoided it."
a heavy silence hung in the air as nat took a deep breath, finally calming down.
"then i realized," she continued, a newfound seriousness in her voice. "that no matter how many shitty one-night stands i had, no matter how many random people i tried to distract myself with, none of it mattered. i would always come back to you, to those feelings that i've tried my damn hardest to run away from."
she stepped closer, her voice lowering to a barely audible whisper.
“but now, i'm willing to put all that aside, because i know what i want."
as nat finished speaking, her words hanging in the charged air between you, she closed the distance between you with a determined step. without hesitation, she reached up, gently cupped your face in her hands, and pressed her lips softly against yours. the kiss was tender yet full of the intensity of her emotions, conveying everything she couldn't put into words. you couldn’t resist returning the kiss, missing the familiar taste of her lips, like cheap beer and cigarettes. as she pulled you closer by the waist, you wrapped your arms around her neck.
"i want you," she continued after breaking the kiss, her voice firmer and more certain. "i want to be with you. i know i haven't treated you fairly, i know i've made a lot of mistakes, but i promise i'm willing to change all that."
you looked into her eyes, searching for any signs of dishonesty, but found none. “if you ever hurt me, i swear i’ll fucking kill you, natalie,” you said seriously. "i'm not just a toy for you to play with, do you understand?"
"i'm never going to hurt you," she replied softly, her hands still gently caressing your waist. "i know i've been a jerk, i know i've been distant, but trust me, i'm not going to do that again. not when you mean this much to me," she said sincerely.
"you mean it?" you asked, feeling the tension in your chest release as you saw the honesty in her eyes. "you're not going to disappear like you did last time?"
"i promise i will never break your trust again," she said solemnly. this time, her words sounded more genuine, as if she believed them herself. she tightened her grip on your waist and continued, "from now on, i’ll always be upfront with you, no matter how messy or hard it gets. i won't give you any more mixed signals."
“well, looks like i’ve gotta believe you now,” you said, suppressing a smile. “i'm ready to trust you again; let's just hope it works out this time.”
the two of you stood in silence for a while, soaking in the moment and each other's presence. you couldn't help but notice the faint smile on natalie's face, as if she was just as relieved as you were to be together again. then, she finally broke the silence.
"so, does that mean you’re my girlfriend now?" she asked, a playful smile spreading across her face.
“all yours,” you replied, pulling her into a deep kiss, which she eagerly returned.

Need to make out with Natalie to fade into you, like, I’m not letting that travnat breakup claim that song 😡
Like imagine her driving you home from a party and you’re both a little drunk, and you beg her to let you have the aux and she’s like ‘fine fine…’ and you put on that song, and she giggles as you sing along and everything. She then suddenly pulls over just to kiss you, and then that turns to making out… she doesn’t even care that the song is on repeat she’s just so in love :(
(totally wouldn’t mind a mini fic/blurb on this concept…..)
also btw good luck for college!!! you’re gonna do great 💕💕
Fade in to You
Ooooh yes (but I don't condone drunk driving so you're both sober)
Also thank you!! I hope I do lmao <3
--------------------------------------------------------
"Nat! Just let me play one song! Just one, I swear, and then we can go back to listening to whatever this shit is," you beg, giving your best puppy eyes. Not that she was paying much attention.
"Fine, okay, whatever. One song. That's it. And my music isn't "shit", by the way." She rolls her eyes, handing her phone out to you. By this point, you've earned the rights to her password, so it's easy to navigate to Spotify and cue up the song you want.
As soon as it starts playing, you begin humming along.
"I wanna hold the hand inside you," you sing softly, reaching out for Nat's hand. You knew it was extremely corny, but you couldn't help it. Not with her.
She rolls her eyes but takes your hand anyways, still keeping her eyes on the road. You keep singing, getting more exaggerated as the song goes on. At this point, you're waiting for her to break and start laughing. What you're not expecting, is for her to pull the car off the road and into a grocery store parking lot.
"Nat-?"
Before you can even finish your sentence, she leans over the center console and kisses you. It's soft and sweet, and after a moment she pulls away to look you in the eyes.
"Fucking idiot," she says, and kisses you again. It starts off like the first, slow and gentle, before she's slipping her tongue into your mouth. It's still sweet, but rougher. More Natalie.
You practically melt, wrapping your arms around the back of her neck as she kisses you. One of her hands cups your cheek as the other one tangles into your hair.
The two of you stay like that for what seems like hours, just lost in each other, until you inevitably have to pull away to breathe.
"So I'm guessing you like my song more than you thought you were going to, huh?"
"Yeah, it was the song that I liked. Nothing else." She buckles back in and starts the car back up before intertwining your fingers again. You just grin stupidly from the passenger seat, and don't make a move to change the song at all.

Yo so these are head-cannons from this thot a while ago.
Also the internet has come back, hopefully long term (never ever been this happy before), but enjoy for now xxx
*****
transmasc Van and Nat btw (I LOVE THEM!!!)
*****
Tumblr media
Was definitely way too into it at the time to notice wtf you were doing.
Continues to not know about it until she goes on there later (Callie set her up on it, of which you did not know).
"Y/n……. What is this?" "Uhhhhhhh nothing, just a BeReal." "I can see that sweet thing, but who else is in it?"
You know you're fucked regardless of how you respond.
That's pretty much all I can think of honestly (I'm out here tryna keep yall fed, sorry).
---
Tumblr media
Again, was probably way too into it at the time to notice.
Then she looks over your shoulder later on, while you're sat together watching TV.
"Watcha got there, love, hmmm?" "Nothinggggg" "Nothing huh, well if it's nothing can I see it?" "Nooooooooo"
Somehow ends up getting her hands on it (definitely did not chase you around to try and grab your phone, and/or tickle you when you wouldn't give up). "Oh?"
Honestly kinda flustered at first (even though she probably has no idea how it works).
Then makes it her screensaver for like a week, until someone accidently picks up her phone.
Poor baby gets so scared that someone's seen it, and changes it back to a more PG photo of the two of you.
Tumblr media
100% gets a lesbian spider sense and looks up JUST as you post it.
But doesn't say anything until way after, when she somehow gets her hands on it.
"Baby, I love you, but I swear to god, if people find that and use it as a reason to not elect me, I will be mad." "Oooooooooh, maybe I like it when you're mad 😏." "Y/NNNNN!!!"
You end up taking it down after a couple hours (idk if you can do that, I haven't used BeReal in ages), cause you don't wanna actually make her mad.
Again that's pretty much it, idk.
---
Tumblr media
This boy has no idea wtf BeReal is or how it works, but is definitely a little curious about it.
Honestly like extremely flustered by it when he finds it while looking on your phone for something (idk, like something you asked him to look at or grab from it).
"I'm not mad about it, it's actually kinda cool, but outta curiosity, how many people are gonna see that?" "I don't know." "Wha- how can you not- HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE YOU FRIENDS WITH?!"
Poor baby boy is very confused, but it's okay, he's cool with it.
---
Tumblr media
The most smug motherfucker on earth when he finds it.
But then again honestly doesn't really give much of a shit.
But also 100% screenshotted it and sent it from your phone to his and looks at it alllllllllllll the fucking time may of masturbated to it once or twice when you weren't there 🤫.
Definitely makes it his screensaver too like Lottie, but has no shame about it whatsoever.
Not really got much else to say other then that honestly, but they speak for themselves, baby boy Nat has no shame whatsoever.
---
Tumblr media
A little confused by it, like the whole sorta aspect of it, like "Why do people have to know everything about what people are doing?"
SAYS THE FUCKING STALKER/KIDNAPPER! anyways......
Defo hacks into your phone later on while you're asleep (cause that's just so much more fun then just taking it and unlocking it or whatever).
And also definitely stares at it for like an hour straight (that babygirl is such a freak and a perv, but it's okay, we love her for it).
Let's just say poor baby boy Caligula gets demoted to home screen, and then she changes it around, and he gets bumped back up to lock screen.
As much as Misty loves you, the photo, and just the whole aspect of the situation, she doesn't wanna loose her job for unprofessionalism.

i think the most unrealistic part of yellowjackets is that the girls haven't experimented with each other
like wdym
ur trapped in the middle of nowhere with no connection to civilization
odds are ur gonna die
everyone on the team is objectively hot asf ok (cue that one deleted line of nat saying that they all have nice tits or something like that)
I DOUBT jackie and travis were the only virgins. like ur telling me no one else is like "I can't die a virgin"???????
yall saw how horny mari and nat were on DAY 3. for TRAVIS. ur telling me by winter they arent more unhinged???? bffr
like you cant tell me that almost every relationship in the teen timeline is borderline homoerotic and only two of the girls have canonically boned
in conclusion: yall have literally eaten ppl. go down on each other. u guys r always fighting. like goddamn. if u just fucked already maybe u would stop

synopsis. taking care of natalie after she kills ben.
pairing: natalie scatorccio x gn!reader
genre: angst, comfort, fluff
warnings. mentions of death and blood
wc: 951
· · 𖦹 · ·
you could only hold off misty for so long.
natalie was in there for hours staring at what she had done. ben's sickly face finally looks at peace though, and it eases her anguished heart just slightly.
you could hear her quiet, wheezed sobs for hours, and you weren't ready to see her come out of his shelter, barely able to keep herself upright as she stumbled past the gate. your heart sinks when she rubs his blood on her cheek. all you wanna do is pull her into a hug but misty's sudden yell makes fear coarse through your entire body.
this isn't gonna end well. it was never gonna end well for natalie, but now there's gonna be a huge scene.
"what did you do?!" misty screams at nat, looking at her with the utmost disdain. she pushes your hand away roughly when you try to calm her down.
"misty," you call out her name, trying to get her attention away from nat. it doesn't work. not even when you grab her shoulders to try and turn her to face you. the word "murderer" flies from her mouth and you look toward nat, her face covered in snot and ben's blood.
no, she was doing the right thing.
"it was the right thing to do." nat says shakily, swallowing down her snot. "i'm sorry, but it's true. he was suffering."
you walk up to the group and stand protectively next to nat, glaring at shauna who looks at her with malice. she's acting like she wasn't the first to suggest killing him in the first place. it makes you angry. what makes you even angrier is her barking chihuahua behind her who shouts at nat.
"shut the fuck up." melissa utters.
your arm gets brushed by nat's as gen pushes her from behind, muttering the same words as melissa. as you watch nat fall to her hands and knees, your fight-or-flight response kicks in, and it's fight that wins when it seems like everyone is ganging up on her, starting with van who chastises her. you shout and shove gen back, telling her that if she ever lays a hand on your girlfriend again, she won't have any hands soon.
the chatter in the background as shauna rants to the girls means nothing to you as you kneel next to nat and grab her, helping her sit up on her knees as you brush her hair back.
"are you okay?" you whisper, wiping snot off her lips and attempting to wipe the smudges of blood on her cheek.
she gives you a half-nod, realizing that actually, no, she's not okay.
you tune back into the conversation at the worst time.
"natalie will prepare the feast." shauna says smugly.
· · 𖦹 · ·
nat's not even gripping onto your hand as you lead her back to her hut. she's looking past you when you turn back to glance at her, needing to make sure she's even there in the first place because it sure doesn't feel like it.
you set her down gently on the seat, looking into her eyes and trying to get her to look at you. it only works when you grip her chin, mumbling her name softly as you make her look up.
"nat? natalie?" you mumble, your thumb rubbing gentle circles on her chin. you give her a sad smile when she finally looks at you, hand leaving her chin to rest on her knee, squeezing comfortingly. "i'm gonna clean you up, okay?"
she nods stiffly and wipes at her bloody cheek, lips opening in a heavy sigh. you scratch the side of her head and get up, telling her you'll be back in a minute. your stomach twists when you bump into gen on the way out, glaring harshly at her before you walk to the spot where the water buckets are. you collect one and bring it back to the hut, setting it down next to nat and searching for a rag.
"do you want me to help you?" you dip the rag in the bucket, squeezing some of the water out before dragging it along her cheek. "with...ben."
you're not sure you could do it if you wanted to, even for nat. saying it is one thing, but actually cutting him up? you used to help shauna with some of the animals back at the cabin during the first spring, but that was just cutting up the meat, not actually bleeding them out.
nat's eyes flutter shut as you clean up her cheek, pressing it lightly against your hand as she shakes her head. "no, i can do it. not like shauna'll let you help anyway. it's a punishment."
you hum sadly and twist the blood out of the rag over the bucket before dipping it in again. you wash over her cheek once again before moving to her nose and lips, making sure all the snot and dirt get scrubbed off it.
"thank you." she speaks up. "for looking out all night. misty would've caught me and killed me herself if you weren't out there." both of you laugh lightly, and she grabs your hand with the rag in it and takes it from you to set it to the side. "i love you."
nat looks down as she plays with your fingers mindlessly, her body still trembling from a few hours ago. you bring your hand back to caress her cheek, nat fully melting into it now as she kisses your thumb.
"i love you too." you reply, cupping her other cheek and kissing her. "should probably start getting ready for the feast. let me help you get ready..."

Perhaps the wilderness in Yellowjackets is not just a symbol of death. Perhaps it is also—in its own way—freedom.
In the wilderness, Lottie didn’t have to hide her visions for fear of being called crazy. She was exalted as a leader and a prophet. But when she returned, they called her crazy and locked her up.
In the wilderness, Misty didn’t have to be ashamed of her intensity and eccentricity. She was helpful, she was needed, she was important. But when she returned, they called her a freak and exiled her once again.
In the wilderness, Tai didn’t have to pretend to be something she’s not. Her other self was not a weakness but a strength, it gave her power, and kept her alive. But when she returned she had to suppress her urges and hide her other self, or lose everything.
In the wilderness, Shauna didn’t have to be small, and hide the fire inside her. She was angry, and violent, and powerful. But when she returned, she was forced back into a supporting role, forced to contain her darkness and her drive in order to fit a role she never wanted to play.
In the wilderness, Travis didn’t have to put on an act to fit the societal expectations of masculinity. He was feminine, and emotional, and soft—not the man of the group, but just another Yellowjacket in the hive. But when he returned, he was forced back into the cage—back into the closet—isolated, hardened, closed off and separated from the girls once more.
In the wilderness, Natalie didn’t have to feel guilty for surviving. She was the hunter, the provider, and the gun in her hands made her a savior, and a leader, not a killer. But when she returned, she was a killer once again, haunted by guilt, and outcast by society for the things she did to stay alive.
The wilderness gave them the freedom to be their truest and most authentic selves, but the cost was the blood spilled. The cost was their old selves. The cost was a place in the world upon their return.
Maybe the wilderness did not destroy them; it simply changed them into something new, something irrevocably different, something that would never—could never—fit back inside the narrow box of their old lives, and because they could no longer fit, society called them broken.
The wilderness freed them, but it never let them go. Because once you’ve tasted flesh and blood, once you’ve stared death in the face and overcame, once you’ve been to the very brink and seen the true depth of your own capacity for violence, once all the former markers of morality and success have become meaningless, in a world where survival at all costs is the only law, how can you ever go back to a world ruled by pointless, hollow, conventions? Once you’ve shed every remnant of your humanity, once you’ve run with the wolves, and howled at the moon, and become one with the ancient wild gods, how can you ever be a human again? Once you’ve had a taste of complete freedom, how can you ever be satisfied with a fake, insignificant, half-life, made up entirely of half-truths and haunting?

Nat making reader squirt for the first time... NO THIS ISNT BASED ON ANYTHING!!! SHUT UP!!!
-🦷
ofc its not dear 🦷!! anyway, i have a lot to say about this…(she looks TOO good in these photos)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Thinking about Natalie who won’t even give you two seconds to come down, fucking you with abandon after your first orgasm.
She has your leg thrown over her hip, on her harness resting an approximately 8-inch dildo, which you can take most of, but trust she’ll bury it inside you to the HILT.
Whispering what is praise mixed with a bit of degradation in your ear
What if she spits in your mouth too, what then…
Okay, she does, and that’s what makes your second orgasm crash over you.
You’re pretty sure she’s done for the night, even though her cock was still inside you, but ohh you are naive…
A few minutes later, she moves her hips slowly again, rubbing that one gummy spot inside you perfectly UGHHH
Honestly she gets fucking feral very soon, throwing your legs against her shoulders, giving your calves sympathy kisses while she jackhammers your pussy……..
The sensation that washes over you is strange and unfamiliar, but not entirely unwelcome. It just feels different- you knew you were close, but still, there was something.
However you couldn’t dwell on it too much, when you looked up at her, she had that lustful, flushed look plastered across her face, which broke you immediately.
It took you a millisecond to realize that you actually fucking squirted.
You saw the triumphant smile that pulled at Nat’s lips above you, fucking you through it…….you never even thought your body could do something like this and were just fucking shocked.
Definitely says something like “Gotta wash the sheets.” in a veryyyyy sarcastic way, and yeah, no fucking shit Sherlock, you made a whole puddle
But once Natalie got over her glory, she reassured you that this was the hottest thing you ever did, and that her now sole purpose is to make you squirt!!!
Gives you such such good aftercare too…..

thoughts on fuckgirl!nat? 👀
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
she’s very laid-back and mysterious, she has this sort of “enigmatic" presence that draws people in, but she always maintains a distance and only reveals her true self to a few ppl.
when she connects w someone romantically, it’s very intense and all-consuming, but she struggles with commitment due to her fear of losing her freedom. so, her relationships are very passionate but very short.
due to that, she has gained a reputation on campus; pretty much everyone knows that she doesn’t give a shit, and that she tends to leave a trail of broken hearts.
despite this, many girls and boys still take a chance, hoping to be the exception. unfortunately, it usually ends up as a short-lived fling or outright rejection.
she loses interest quickly and tends to ghost after fucking a couple of times.
she also tends to ghost when things get too routinary or she starts to develop feelings.
she's not a complete asshole, though. sure, she struggles with commitment and disappears 90% of the time, but she's very chill and respectful. she wouldn't cross any boundaries or push you into anything you're uncomfortable with.
however, if any of her flings say “i love you,” she’ll literally say something like “oh lmao” and disappear IMMEDIATELY 😭😭
she adheres to the bro code; if you've been involved with one of her friends before, she'll steer clear.
her wardrobe consists of worn band t-shirts, ripped jeans, and a variety of vintage leather jackets.
wears lots of rings and silver jewelry.
probably has a bunch of piercings.
"just got a lip piercing. wanna taste it?"
she’s very unpredictable. sometimes she’ll be very energetic n give you lots of attention, but then she might ghost u for days at a time. eventually, she'll reach out again as if nothing had happened.
your best bet is to just go with the flow and play it cool, as if mirroring her actions. if you start complaining, she might lose interest and disappear for good.
she'll text you 'wyd' at 3 am, and if you respond, she'll be there asap, filling your room with the scent of tobacco and cologne.
by the time you wake up, she's already gone.

omg okay I have a hurt/comfort request (I loooove all your writing btw 💕💕)
So reader goes with Tai and Van on the expedition south, and ends up with a leg scratch, however they hide it whilst helping Van back, because it’s ‘less important’.
When half the group arrives back to tell the others that Van is injured they go out instantly, Nat sorta notices the readers slow pace but didn’t think much of it.
Once they’re all back at the cabin and watching Van get patched up, the reader sits down, deathly pale from blood loss, Nat realises something is really wrong and she’s worried sick 😣
She gets you to admit to you leg wound and rolls up your jeans to see how bad it is and her face visibly drops. Reader prepares themselves for harshness but Nat is so sweet and gentle and worried, she can’t even comprehend scolding.
Nat bandages the wound and comforts the readers pain so sweetly, (being like “I know, I know it hurts, I’m nearly done”) and gets her to bed etc, reader falls asleep with her head in Nats lap
It's Gonna Be Okay, Baby
Summary: Your explorative trip ended worse than imagined, and your girlfriend helps patch you up.
Warnings: canon typical depictions of violence, injury, and mentions of death (nobody dies dw), mentions of nausea and vomiting, mentions of passing out
Thank you anon, for the compliment! It means a lot :)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You stood in the cabin, alone with Natalie as the rest of the girls stood outside, waiting to send everyone off.
"Y/n, please. Stay here. I want you here." Natalie was practically begging you, but you'd already made up your mind. You were going. Going wit Tai and Van and the others. You had to.
"I'm going with them. Taissa's finally doing something, and I'm not leaving her. I know that you can't go, that you have to find food for the others. But this is my way of helping. You can see that, right?" You take her hands in yours, squeezing them gently.
"They'll be fine without you, please. I'm sure they'll be alright. I just-" She inhales, composing herself. "I just want to make sure that you'll be safe."
"I will. But I'm going to be safe out there, finding help. I have to do this."
For a moment, it looks like she's going to keep arguing, that defiant look still in her eyes. But she softens after a moment, nodding. She knows that this is important to you, that you want to do what you can for the good of everyone. That didn't make the fact that you were leaving her hurt any less.
You almost say it for the first time. I love you. The words are on the tip of your tongue. They have been ever since you crashed, ever since you kissed that first time in the middle of the night, both of you unable to sleep. The two of you'd been dancing around romance for months, and it took a goddammed plane crash to get you to admit your feelings.
Instead, you opted for silence and a hug tighter than any you'd given her before. You hoped that it conveyed everything you were thinking.
I love you. I need you. I promise everything will be alright. I'll be back.
She hugged back, hands grasping at the back of your t-shirt. When you pulled away from the hug, she looked at you for a moment, seemingly drinking you in. Like she wanted to commit every part of you to memory.
The two of you walked outside, Natalie trailing behind you. Tai and the others who decided to come with her were already in the midst of saying goodbyes. Van comes up to hug Natalie, and you move to find Shauna and Lottie.
Lottie finds you first, pulling you in for a tight hug.
"Stay safe, okay? I don't have the best feeling about you leaving." She sounds genuinely terrified, and you squeeze your arms around her reassuringly.
"We'll be fine, Lot. Nothing's going to happen to us." You release her from the hug, and spot Shauna a few feet away.
She gives a small smile as you approach, and you return the look. Unlike Lottie, she doesn't say anything, just gives you a quick hug. Shauna's never been overly sappy or sentimental, but you know she loves you.
Once everyone had said their goodbyes, you turned to start your trek south. Before you can fully leave the clearing, Nat grabs your wrist to pull you into another hug. It doesn't say as much as the one you shared inside the cabin, since everyone was around. But you felt the love in it nonetheless.
When she pulled away, you give her another quick smile and turn to follow the rest of the group. You don't want to be too far behind.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In front of you, Tai and Van chattered on about horror movies and the bone necklace Lottie gave to Van. You couldn't help but feel jealous that your own girlfriend wasn't there. Not that there was any solid confirmation from either of them that they were together, but you knew. They were always sneaking off together, always glued to the hip, always coming back from foraging with puffy lips and messed up hair. It was endearing, in a way.
Part of you wanted to be upset that Taissa hadn't at least told you about the relationship, but it wasn't like you had revealed to her your own sexuality, let alone your relationship with Nat. So you let it slide. Everyone was entitled to their own secrets.
With Taissa occupied by Van, and Mari and Akilah being attached at the hip, that left you with Misty to talk to or to be alone with your thoughts. You chose the latter. Not that you disliked Misty, but she could be a lot to deal with sometimes. You were already preoccupied enough, you didn't need to end up snapping at Misty and have everyone pissy at you.
So, you walked alone with your thoughts. Thoughts about what might happen on this trip, thoughts about what Lottie was saying earlier about having a "bad feeling". But mostly, you thought about Nat and what she might be doing right now. Hunting, probably. She didn't do much else. She could be talking to Shauna, or more likely Lottie, or even Coach. It was a little upsetting knowing that she wasn't here with you, but you also knew she had a responsibility to the rest of the team. She was their hunter, even if there wasn't much to hunt anymore.
All of a sudden, you felt your foot catch on something and you lurch forward, stumbling right into Van. Luckily, she catches you, and she's laughing.
"God, fuck, I'm an idiot. I wasn't watching where I was going. Sorry, Van." By now, you're smiling, too, and you can hear giggles from behind you.
"You didn't twist your ankle, did you? It'd kind of suck if someone had to be your crutch until we found civilization," she joked, clearly not upset at all.
you right yourself and do a quick assessment, noting that everything felt and looked fine. "I think I'm good. I'll pay more attention, promise."
With that, you all continued on for a couple more hours before the sun began to set. Mari and Misty started a fire, and everyone else just sat around the firepit, getting warm and comfortable. Well, as comfortable as you can get in the middle of the woods.
After a few beats of silence, Van starts to tell everyone the plot of some rom-com that she had watched. It was entertaining to hear about, especially since you hadn't seen a movie in months, and the one she wad describing was one you hadn't watched. She rattled on for was probably twenty to thirty minutes. Not that you had much sense of time out here, especially at night.
Then, you heard it. Wolves. Everyone froze for a moment, remembering Coach Ben's words from months ago.
"Wolves are scared of humans. Plus, they sound pretty far away. No one has to worry," Tai assured everyone, her words sounding so firm nothing could convince you that they weren't true.
"You know who does have to worry? Our girl Sandy." Van quickly goes back to her retelling of the movie, and you relax a bit. By the time she finishes explaining the plot, everyone seems ready to go to sleep. You volunteer to take first watch, knowing it would be easier for you to stay awake rather than have to wake up later.
As everyone else fell asleep, you sat with your thoughts. It started to hit you that this might not have been your best idea, but it was too late to back out now. You missed Natalie, you missed the warmth of all the other girls in the cabin, you missed feeling at least a little bit safe. You honestly wished you were still trekking through the woods, because at least then everyone would be awake.
Taking a deep breath, you try to calm your racing nerves. Everything was fine. You were doing this to find help, and you weren't going to go back empty-handed. They needed you. Natalie needed you.
So you watched, and you waited, and you stayed awake until it physically felt impossible for you not to fall asleep. When you knew you couldn't keep your eyes open much longer, you gently shook Taissa awake.
"Tai... Taissa, wake up. It's your turn." She barely moved, and you were surprised. It wasn't that Tai was normally a light sleeper, but if someone intended to wake her up, it was never this difficult. You knew that, often sharing a room with her, both for away games and sleepovers.
"Taissa. Tai." With that, she finally woke up, still a bit groggy.
"Sorry, Tai, really. But I can't stay awake any longer."
She just stares at you for a moment before slowly sitting up, nodding as she does. It almost feels as if you're back home, waking her up for breakfast at one of your many sleepovers. Almost.
You shoot her a grateful smile and curl up on the ground, begging for sleep to take you. It does, quickly, and you're relieved for that.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The next morning, everyone wakes up only a bit worse for wear. Dirt on the arms, hair messy, mouths tasting like shit. Not much you can do now, but it's still a slight annoyance.
It doesn't take much to get everyone moving, the promise of finding help nudging you along. The morning goes by largely uneventfully, a little less chatter and a little slower than yesterday, but you move.
That is, until you find the dark red stream. The water honestly just looks brown to you, but Van's paranoia about Lottie's dream isn't helpful for morale, but neither is Taissa's outburst. Sometimes you wonder how the two of them could possibly fit together the way that they do, but somehow it works.
The afternoon brings a little more tension, now tired and already grumpy. No one is talking, save for Misty, and it's honestly driving you a bit insane. But you suck it up and smile, trying to bring everyone's mood up, at least a bit.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You take first watch again tonight, to avoid a fight between Tai and Van on who should get to sleep first. It largely goes the same as the night before, trying to stay awake as long as you can to help the girls to sleep for longer, waking Tai up before falling dead asleep.
It's only about an hour later when it happens. First, of course, you hear Van's screams. It takes a moment to process what's going on, and when you do, you immediately jump into action with the others. Fighting off the wolves. You don't know how long you're like that before Taissa appears, finally scaring them away, but by then it's too late.
Van's dead.
Building the pyre, you almost feel numb. Nothing is going on inside your head, except for mild grief at the loss of a friend. So, it's no surprise that you don't notice the large gash on your upper thigh. The adrenaline coursing through you blocks away the pain.
When you do notice, it's an easy decision to cover it up. You'd be fine, it wasn't that bad. Honestly, it barely hurt. That's what you told yourself, anyways.
So, you change your pants before Van's makeshift funeral.
"Really?" Van chokes awake, sputtering on her own blood. "Fire?"
In an Instant, Taissa is hysterical, and everyone is moving Van off of the lit pyre. Part of you is relieved, the other terrified.
Misty helps Taissa to wrap Van's face as best as possible, and you again forget about the pain in your leg. When you start moving back to the cabin, you can barely feel it, you're so focused on getting Van back alive.
"Just leave me here to die." It hits you like a punch to the gut, and you can't imagine how it feels for Tai.
"No. We're getting you back there." Taissa is firm, and you're grateful for her. When she tells the four of you to go on, you do it.
In hindsight, you aren't even sure how you managed to make it back. Your jeans were soaked with blood, a combination of both yours and Van's.
You practically collapse into Natalie when you see her, only managing to get out "Van," before trying to drag her into the woods. Luckily, Misty and Akilah seem to be more eloquent, explaining to the rest of the Yellowjackets what happened.
It doesn't take long for everyone to get moving, wasting no time in trying to find Taissa and Van.
"Van!"
"Tai!"
"Taissa!"
You join in on the yelling, trying to keep up with everyone else. your leg is beginning to really hurt now, but you force yourself to keep pushing. Van needs you.
"Is she okay? She's limping," Natalie asks Akilah, voice low, as if she doesn't want you to hear.
"She tripped the other day, it might just be because of that. I'm sure she's fine." Suddenly, you're grateful for your fall. You didn't need someone freaking out over you instead of Van.
It isn't long after that you find them, curled up together on the forest floor. Taissa looks determined, more determined than she ever has before. And Van looks horrible. But with the help of Shauna and Natalie, she stands enough to drag her back to the cabin.
The stitches are the worst part. Everyone holding her down, the screams. You want to cover your ears and cry, but you don't. You hold Van down as she gets her stitches, and when she's done, you all but collapse on the floor.
Natalie comes to sit next to you, wrapping her arm around your shoulder.
"Hey. Are you okay? I noticed that you were limping earlier. And you've got blood all over you." She looks concerned, but you brush her off.
"It's Van's. And I tripped the other day." Neither thing was a lie, but it definitely wasn't the truth either.
"Y/n, seriously. You're pale as shit, you're limping. Just let me check your leg, okay?" She looks at you, and you immediately cave. It's easier to just pull off your pants, and by this point everyone has seen your underwear anyway.
She looks genuinely terrified, and you brace yourself for harshness, for "I told you so" or "Why wouldn't you say anything?" or "How could you be so stupid?"
Instead, Natalie softens, looking more worried than you'd ever seen her, save for the plane crash. She inspects the gash, noting the length and depth of it. You don't want to look, knowing how ugly it had looked before, sure it was worse now.
"Shit, fuck, okay. Relax, I'm going to get Misty or Akilah, and they can sew it up for you. It's gonna be okay, baby." She squeezes your hand softly before finding Akilah and the same needle and thread used on Van. She also brings water, and a stick for you to bite down on.
You take the water gratefully, sipping it slowly. The blood loss is making you dizzy and nauseous. While passing out could be a blessing when getting stitches, vomiting wouldn't be.
Nat sits beside you again, holding your hand as Akilah starts the stitches. You cry out, gripping Natalie's hand tightly.
"Shh, it's okay, it's going to be fine, you've got this." She keeps whispering soft, reassuring words to you, and you've never been more grateful for her in your life.
The stitches make you feel ten times worse, and it takes all your strength not to lose consciousness. You focus on Natalie next to you, trying to match her slow, steady breathing. It helps a little, and so does the fact that she's still telling you how strong you are, how amazing you're doing.
Finally, Akilah finishes, and you breathe a sigh of relief.
"You should wrap it up with a clean bandage," Akilah says to Natalie, and you know she means with a strip of cloth. Nat nods, grabbing one of her own t-shirts and ripping a strip from it.
"I'm gonna have to touch it, I'm sorry." She genuinely looks so sad, but you're grateful for the help.
"No, it's okay." When she hears you, she just nods again before wrapping the cloth around the wound. You wince, but the sting is mild compared to all that you'd been through in the past 24 hours.
Nat sits next to you again, and you're so exhausted that you don't care who sees you. You lie your head in Natalie's lap, and she immediately starts running her hand over your hair. It's nice, soft and intimate, something not readily available in the Wilderness. You drink all of it in, the way her thighs feel under your head, the way her hand feels on your hair.
"I love you." The words are firm, like they're the realest thing in this place. You feel Natalie's breath hitch for a second, but you don't have time to worry about what it could mean.
"I love you too." She leans down to press a kiss to your temple, and you swear this is heaven.
It doesn't take long after that to fall asleep, feeling safer than you have in months.

mistys devotion to nat in the adult timeline is suddenly making so much sense. if nat knew about the transponder and said nothing, spared misty just out of kindness because she knew what mistys fate would be if the others found out, how could someone like misty do anything less than fall hopelessly in love with her.

yapping yapping to you dudeeee. have you seen how nat treated mari's brat ass (and some of shauna's, too)? i was like: panties? where? *inserts that meme of an emoji with a dangling lingerie* like, the way her care and natural protective instincts kick in, even though others might give two fucks about her 😭😭 my baby, come here, i'll take care of youuuuu imagining a brat!reader making nat's days a living hell, but she can't possibly lash out, so she puts reader into a time-out (house arrest tf), or even brings them their portion of the food into their hut, ending up in nat "teaching reader" how to behave 😇 yuk, an innocent lesson
Tumblr media Tumblr media
what if i said i wanted to be put in my place. what then. what if i said i need to piss nat off until she snaps at me, realises that i liked it, and then does it again?
nsfw blurb / smut / gn!afab!reader / porn w some plot / self-indulgent / not proofread we die like the cabin at the end of s2/ wc: 1260
natalie stands outside your shelter, the fresh scent of damp earth and cool spring air brushing past. the spring out here is deceptive—warmer than the cruel winter was but still bitter in the mornings and evenings. the soft hum of insects punctuate the silence that settles in the dim light of the evening.
inside, you restlessly lay on your makeshift bedroll, leg bouncing as you trace the light strips that filter through the gaps in your structure with your eyes. when she finally steps in—carrying a wooden bowl of stew—you glance up with a cocky grin that you already know nat will not like.
"well, well." you drawl, sitting up. "The Queen herself. To what do I owe the pleasure on this fine evening?"
nat doesn't bite. she places the bowl on the tree stump in front of you unceremoniously. "dinner," she says simply, straightening and crossing her arms.
"wow, room service?" you let out a low whistle, leaning back and lacing your fingers behind your head. "i gotta say, i'm kinda liking this whole 'house arrest' thing, you know? the perks are nice." a beat, "actually, is it too much to ask, or could i get some dessert?"
her jaw clenches, but she manages to keep her voice in check. "you seriously think this is funny?"
"i mean... yeah." you shrug. "let's be real, nat. you're supposed to be running this place or whatever, but here you are, babysitting me." you groan and sit back up, "doesn't really scream..." a beat as you feign thought, "fearsome leader, you know?"
nat's eyes narrow, and you swear you can feel the frustration radiating off of her. the distant sounds of the wilderness around you seems to grow at the sudden tension, filling the space between you two. "you really wanna test how far i'll go?"
your grin falters slightly, but you can't deny the subtle rush that builds inside of you at the way her voice lowers. "what are you gonna do? give me another stern talking-to?"
she steps closer, her worn combat boots crunching against the forest floor. she leans down just enough to meet your gaze, her voice shifting to that tone she knows gets you weak. “no. talking doesn’t seem to work with you.”
before you can fire back a retort, she's grabbing your jaw with her right hand and squeezing. "you aren't leaving this hut until i say so, and honestly?" her voice lowers further, "i don't think you deserve to leave after all this shit you've pulled, do you?"
you stare up at her, unsure if you're supposed to be feeling afraid, aroused, or both."uh…" you blink a few times, "wow, nat. you really got the whole… 'scary leader' thing down. i'm shaking in my boots."
a scoff leaves her lips, but she doesn't visibly react further to your sarcasm. "you can joke all you want, yeah? but we both know you'll listen to what i say. because if you don't…" her eyes flash down to your lips for a moment, "well, they don't last very long."
your stomach twists, but not because you're scared. well, maybe a little. but mostly? well, mostly you're just aroused.
and nat knows, if the way she smirks is any indication. "yeah. you know that, don't you?" her voice carries a teasing lilt that does unpleasant (but not unwelcome) things to your insides. "all you really want is to be put in your place." she grips your jaw a little tighter, "open your mouth more."
you do. your lips part on command, and you're rewarded with nat spitting into your mouth slowly. "close. don't swallow." you do as she asks, of course. there's no way she doesn't know you're ruining your underwear right about now.
you swear you haven't taken a breath in a million years as she looks down at you, eyes sharp and calculating. "good. swallow." you comply, maintaining eye contact, then open your mouth to show her that you listen.
nat grins. "look at you. you can listen."
she gives you a firm shove back onto your bedroll and follows you down. "but i think i still need to prove my point."
one of her hands slides underneath the waistband to your pants without hesitation, and it takes everything in her to not make a sound of satisfaction at how wet you are already. "jesus. already?" she manages, the words almost coming out in a whine and breaking this facade of control. "you're fucking soaked."
"can't help it." you reply immediately, already feeling the fight in you leave the second she gets her hands on you, "it's you. you do this to me." you're already clenching around nothing, staring up at nat's form over your body with an expression of pure want. "please."
the girl almost scoffs at how quick you get to begging, considering it usually takes far longer to break you down. "damn. that was fast. you a little desperate?"
"fuck you—" you try and start, but your protests are quickly cut off with a sudden push of her forefinger into your cunt. "oh—"
"that's what i thought." she grins, starting to move her finger without giving you time to get used to the intrusion. "all talk and no game, yeah? not so big once someone actually starts taking charge."
your fingers dig into the soil around your bedroll, knowing better than to grab onto her right now. "that's not fair—"
another finger. "nothing is fucking fair." she bites, leaning down closer to your face, "we're trapped in the middle of goddamn nowhere, and you're talking to me about fair?" a harsh scoff leaves her lips as she begins pumping her fingers faster, "life isn't fucking fair."
you'd make a smart reply to that if you could, but it's sort of hard to do when her fingers are ruthlessly fucking in and out of you, your wetness soaking into the fabric of your underwear. "already so worked up." she tsks, "bet i could give you a third finger right now and you'd—"
she does.
three fingers deep, fingers curling in and out of your pussy with a passion that only nat can possess, you groan and throw your head back.
nat slaps her free hand over your mouth with a hiss, "jesus! do you want them to hear what's going on in here?" her fingers never cease in their actions as her gaze flicks to the entrance for a moment, watching to make sure no one is about to walk in on you two. "shit, i would never hear the end of this…" she murmurs before returning her gaze to you, hardening it slightly. "should have known you wouldn't be able to keep quiet."
she grinds her palm against your clit with every crook of her fingers, and you can barely keep your eyes open at the harsh movements she fucks you with—pain and pleasure blurring together somewhere along the way.
her breath ghosts over your ear as she leans down, and you can feel her smirk. "you're gonna come for me, and when you do, it's gonna happen again." you whine, and she chuckles lowly in response. "and again. until i fucking decide that you've finally understood how to listen to fucking orders."you stare up at her with wide eyes when she pulls her face back slightly, and nat's grin only widens further. "and we both know you have a hard time following orders." her fingers find that one spot, and you swear you see stars—"so i think it's gonna be a long night."

hii! i just watched the finale and would like to request reader who's dating natalie and involved in the plan to get them out of there. maybe instead of natalie hiking alone, reader goes with her? anyway, i really enjoy reading your fics <3
Tumblr media
synopsis. you're involved in the plan to call for rescue.
pairing: natalie scatorccio x gn!reader
warnings. ⚠️ season finale spoilers ⚠️

· · 𖦹 · ·
all you can do is stare blankly at the transponder in misty's hand, nat saying everything you feel as she yells at her.
"fuck you! fuck you! fuck you! fuck you, misty!"
misty looks desperately between you two, a pulse of utter anxiety flushing through her body as you stay completely silent while glowering at her. "i know, i just, believe me, i wish i could undo it."
the next thing you know, misty's on the ground, looking all puppy dog-ish as her mouth bleeds. it manages to break you out of your detachment from reality, and you stumble forward to put a hand on nat's shoulder as she leans over and wipes her face. she looks back at you, nodding to let you know she's alright.
"are you gonna tell everyone?" misty cries, and for a split second, you feel bad after hearing her shaky voice.
"tell me how this could get us home." nat almost sounds like she's begging, like she's praying that this could work, that misty could get all of them home.
something in your heart seizes as misty goes on to explain how the scientist had this "radio phone" and how van's been trying to fix it. the hope that left after hannah killed kodi slowly starts to reappear, and you kneel next to nat, listening intently to misty as she explains her plan.
you feel anxious on the morning of the hunt.
you already know what's supposed to happen, but instances of things going wrong play in your mind. specifically, nat picking the queen card. or you picking the queen card.
if you picked the queen card, nothing in the plan would change. if nat picks it, there's no hope. you believe in her. she can get you guys out of here.
you lick your dry lips and stare at nat, who is putting on this black pigment around her eyes. you think she sort of looks like a raccoon.
"if i pick the queen, you'd still go right?" you mumble. speaking about it just feels weird. it's been so long since a hunt occurred out here. and talking about it makes it feel even more real. "you wouldn't mess the plan up just to save me?"
"i don't wanna think about that." nat responds, because the answer is yes, she probably would fuck the plan up if you picked it, even if she desperately wants the girls to get rescued.
"van says she has it under control anyway." you try to look on the bright side, even if it means rigging the hunt against an innocent teammate. she didn't specifically say the word rigging, but you can guess what she was insinuating.
nat nods and turns to you, rolling her shoulders as she adjusts her fur coats. before you can speak, the question you've been wanting to ask on the tip of your tongue, you hear the blow of a horn.
· · 𖦹 · ·
you feel satisfaction in your soul as mari shoves shauna, and you smile lightly as nat and van rush to keep shauna from pouncing. you're with mari and some of the others, helping her back up, and all the tension comes crawling back to you when lottie starts counting again.
"you deserve everything that's coming to you!" mari tells shauna before running off.
you really hope she has a chance.
you glance at nat as everyone else looks around, wondering what to do. it's when lottie looks at them that everyone starts walking towards the table to grab their weapons. you nod at nat and pull your hood over your head, snaking the cloth around your neck to cover your mouth as you head over to grab your knife.
you start jogging into the forest, not wanting to seem suspicious if you had waited for nat. you hide behind a tree, watching all of them rushing for mari, whooping and screaming, and as nat starts running out with her spear, you follow behind.
· · 𖦹 · ·
nat drops down and frantically pulls away the snow-covered bush and twigs. you watch from behind and keep a look out, shaking your legs with anxiety as you make out the faint sounds of animalistic hollering.
"they sound close." you whisper to nat, kneeling next to her as she opens the box. "hurry."
both of you freeze when you hear a bush rustle from behind.
you glance at each other, barely moving your necks, and you look down at the radio to try and tell her, "close the fucking thing. let's get out of here."
you could almost smile at how well she knows your look as she shuts it quickly, but you're too terrified right now. she grabs the box whlie you shove the blanket back underneath the bushes and twigs, leaving it like it was almost never disturbed.
almost.
you were in a hurry, what can you say?
· · 𖦹 · ·
you swear you hear a third set of footsteps run behind you as nat and you sprint in the direction of the mountain.
you stop nat with a pull of her coat. "i think someone's following us."
she breathes heavily, trying to catch her breath. she thinks so too. whoever it is has been with you guys since she retrieved the box. she adjusts her mask and looks around, squinting for a sign of someone out there. they can't be far behind.
"we hide. wait for them to come to us." her teeth clatter as she speaks, and you step forward to grab her forearms, rubbing them up and down to try and warm her up.
"i take this one, you take that one?" you ask, nodding to the trees.
she agrees and the both of you hide.
the two of you wait for the culprit, your toes freezing and your body on the brink of shutting down. the fuck is taking them so long?! did they get bored of following you? you're just about to come out and tell nat that you should just keep going when you hear the sound of rustling, then the sound of nat pushing whoever it is against a tree.
you come out with your knife, eyes widening as nat lifts their mask to reveal hannah underneath.
"please," she begs, looking between the two of you. "i'm on your side, i swear."
you raise your knife to her throat as nat speaks. "of course you are, you're on everyone's side."
"if i didn't kill kodi, shauna was going to kill us both." hannah explains.
"that's why you're following us? for ssshauna?" nat stutters, the cold clearly taking a toll on her.
hannah gives her story about how she's trying to survive out here, the same as any one of you. it makes you realize how true it is, how all the shit you guys have done out here is just for survival, no matter how fucked up. you start to lower your knife but keep your forearm on her chest, and turn your head to look at nat.
"i think she's being honest." you say, your voice muffled slightly due to your mask. no way in hell you're taking it off. it's too cold.
nat's still shaking, both from the cold and anxiety about whether or not to trust hannah. she lets out an exasperated sigh and pushes off of her, lowering her spear. "okay. okay. what do you have in mind?"

you watch as nat and hannah exchange clothes, glimmers of hope flickering in your chest that this could work. it could. they're both similar in height, nobody could really tell so long as hannah keeps the mask on and avoids talking to anyone. which could be hard you guess. but all you need is for her to be decoy for one night.
all you need is for nat to get to the mountain safely.
"okay," nat sighs, lifting up hannah's mask over her face. she looks at you. "take her back to shelter."
you frown at her, which she misses because she bends down to pick up the box. "no. no, i wanna go with you."
she opens her mouth to shut you down, but you give her a look and continue. "it'll be dangerous alone." you can just make out nat rolling her eyes. stepping forward, you grab onto her arm and pull her in close. "what happens if you get hurt and can't call for help? hannah can do it alone, right?"
you give her a begging look.
hannah understands and nods, giving nat a smile before putting on her disguise.
"fine." nat agrees, handing you the box. "i lead then."

"look," you point up, eyes squinting in the sunlight. "up there would be a good spot to try. i think it's high enough."
nat smiles at you, panting slightly from all the walking you've had to do. "we're really fuckin' doing this."
you smile back equally as hard and lean in to kiss her lips hard, both of you chuckling because, fuck, you really are doing this.
"c'mon." you move the radio box-thing underneath your armpit and grab onto her hand. "we're almost there."
you take your time hiking up the snowy mountain, carefully placing your feet against the rocks as you climb up higher. nat goes first, and you wait a few moments just to look out for her before following behind. your heart sank to your stomach when she nearly slipped a few times, but thankfully, she fell back onto you, and you fell back onto solid ground instead of off the cliff. you had to take a few seconds to get your heart pumping again because holy fuck, that was the scariest thing you've ever experienced.
while waiting, she warmed you up with kisses to your lips and face, mumbling that you only need to walk for a few more minutes then you're there.
and then you're there.
and nat's frantically setting down the radio on the ground, you next to her, holding your breath in anticipation as she sticks the transponder in.
you let out a choked gasp when the battery-signal thing starts up, your face breaking out into a smile. "holy fuck."
"come on." nat whispers to it gently, like it'll stop working if she's any louder. the signal reaches a light green and beeps, and nat rushes forward to take out the phone. "fuck it."
you huddle closer to her, the sound of static discouraging you just a little.
"please, help... please, god, uh, send fucking help!" she yells erratically.
"we're stuck out here!" you screech into the phone as nat holds it—cradles it—and taps her fingers against it repeatedly. "we need help!"
more static and more silence.
you hold onto nat's wrist as both of you cry and scream for help for god knows how long, her whole body shaking along with yours.
then it happens.
the static crackles.
you and nat sit up in an instant, both of you speaking at the same time.
"can you hear me?"
the sound of a man saying, "hello?" over the radio makes you laugh. you don't know why. you fall back onto your ass as nat screams out, "can anyone one hear me?"
tears fall down your face as you look up at her, a wide smile on your lips.
"i can hear you." the man says.
