This is potentially one of my favorite pieces ever. The pose, the faces, I don't know what kind of art juice I was drunk on that day but I really wanna recapture whatever "it" factor I managed to hit here.

This one was really fun to do even if I'm not totally happy with the result, I feel like its a little flat! But I like all the details and composition.

I have a hard time keeping things simple. I feel like I have a tendency to overdo nearly always to the detriment of what I'm drawing, OR if I do force myself to keep it low-detail I don't like the result. Here I think I really struck that line without going over it while still really liking the art... I should reference this one more often!

I love this pose and the ambience I managed to capture here, particularly Astarion's annoyed pet-cat face.

Now, forgetting all about simplicity, LOL.

I really like how this one turned out EXCEPT for Astarion's face. I don't think it's bad, just not quite what I was going for.

And I REALLY like the two "serious" comics I did: The ascension hijacking comic and the Old Habits comic. Somehow the art in those is always my best, in my opinion.

EHEHEH thank you im so happy you guys are enjoying it!! it took me so long�� i started it during finals around late nov-early dec which was a horrible idea cause all i wanted to do was work on that while i had the responsibility of my college classes so i just worked on all the lineart and then focused on finishing the semester for me to work on it again

but then i got a job😭 so i was coming home tired only wanting to play marvel rivals so that further delayed me finishing it until now lmfao

the only motivation for me making this comic was that last panel, i just wanted to draw that but bc im insane and love putting lore into everything i had to make it into a comic.

also wanted to note but forgot; i wanted to also kinda showcase will’s survival instincts once hes in the UD + mike is in danger. we all talk about protective mike but forget how selfless and protective will also is, having survived the UD at 12 years old for a whole week alone.

no matter what is happening in their relationship, he will always protect mike in any way he can. once he sensed the demodog, he quickly entered survival mode and found a way to protect himself and mike’s clumsy ass

anyways thats my tangent im really happy the comic is getting love everywhere after the sweat i put into it😭♥️

Danny Kaye (The Court Jester, The Inspector General)—Danny Kaye, idol of my childhood, maker of the weirdest faces! This man SETS HIMSELF ON FIRE and then puts himself out in a bucket in a movie based on a Gogol short story. In the same movie (Inspector General), he flirts by playing a carrot as a musical instrument. In Wonder Man, he's brilliant but struggles with things like riding buses. I have been envious of his fake Italian/French/German/Spanish monologues in The Court Jester for the past three decades. As Walter Mitty, he is SUPREMELY SILLY yet also somehow manages to be a comic foil for none other than Boris Karloff. All this is to say nothing of The William Tell Song (TV, thus not linked, but great.) I adore him.

Robert Helpmann (The Red Shoes, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang)—an extremely enticing combination of graceful and balletic and scrungly weirdo who looks kind of like if you put fred astaire and young boris karloff circa the black cat into the splicer machine from the fly. a literal actual ballet dancer, choreographer, shakespeare actor, and theater director, who left a mark on the psyches of many children as the terrifying child catcher in chitty chitty bang bang. undeniably scrungly but elegant and spidery in his scrungliness. in powell and pressburger's opera film tales of hoffmann he can be seen playing four different characters!

In the interests of honesty i will say that I have only seen Robert Helpmann in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang , but honestly does it get weirder, scrunglier or more delightfully creepy than the Child Catcher? REALLY. He is so gracefully off-putting (and thereby utterly captivating). One of my very favourite aspects in one of my favorite chilhood movies. And ASIDE from the child catcher, just LOOK AT HIM!!!

I know we all know him from our childhood traumas from Chitty, but he was also an extremely talented dancer. you can see him here in the red shoes (he is the one who plays her lover).

Guys it has been a week and it's only Wednesday. Somehow. Anyway, I am taking the easy way out here by posting Jessica Nigri. Cosplayers tend to be easy mode cause I don't have to look very hard or very long for pictures. There are a lot and they tend to be good. I am posting her cause she did a Squirrel Girl cosplay, a thing I did not know I needed but apparently I did. I have a long and storied history with Squirrel Girl in that once upon a time in my days as a youth roleplaying online in X-Men based Roleplay servers my password was Squirrel or SquirrelLover or Squirrelllll depending on the server. I did not set these, other people set them for me when they created my login because I had an ongoing joke about how Squirrel Girl was the new character find of the 90's and actually history's most powerful superhero. This is because at this point, Squirrel Girl had exactly one appearance, where she teamed up with Spider-man and kicked the shit out of Doctor Doom. It just was a comedy bit for me because there was no world where Squirrel Girl was every coming back because she was a one off character that was kind of silly and I love the silly side of comics but a lot of people, especially back then, hated it. Comics were serious business. Get this girl with the power to talk to squirrels who kind of looks like a squirrel out of my comics about serious stuff like a teenage boy getting bitten by a radioactive spider so he turns into an asshole which kind of gets his uncle killed and then he feels so guilty he spends the rest of his life fighting Nuclear Physicists who have the name Octavius and somehow end up with mechanical arms so they are like an Octopus and Billionaires who put on Halloween masks and create weapons that are all themed to be kind of halloween adjacent (this is what I would do if I were a billionaire but I'd be a good guy thank you very much) or you know, multiple people who just literally take an animal name and then wear suits to look like said animal. Serious business. Anyway, all that said, the joke got a lot less funny when eventually Marvel started making the same joke. And suddenly Squirrel Girl was the star of a comic about joke Avengers. Then she was just an Avenger. Then she got her own comic and somehow became the favorite comic book character of multiple children I knew in the mid 10's. Crazy. But I have always had that connection. I have not yet faced her in Marvel Rivals, a game I am awful at, I was much, much better at RPing the soap opera stuff in X-men than I am at using Magneto to I guess shoot bolts of magnetism at people. But I like the cosplay here either way. I think she's make a really hot Magneto now that I think about it. Maybe a good Scarlet Witch too but I want every cosplayer to do a comics accurate Scarlet Witch so don't trust me there. Today I want to fuck Jessica Nigri.

putting this under a read more bc i know im gonna get rambly BUT: the main idea behind this comic was that i got the mental image of helper being the first person to greet rusty in the (now) empty venture compound after jonas dies and rusty drops out. after a rewatch of the series i noticed that TECHNICALLY he wouldve seen helper again before this bc we see him in a flashback opening the car door for him as he leaves college so this comic TECHNICALLY doesnt make sense but im pretending that didnt happen. ANYWAY theres just smth so depressing to me about these two.......the fact that helper is the only one whos ALWAYS with him when we see a flashback to younger rusty. this robot loves him more than his actual father and it makes me deeply upset.
