Personality:

Zera is a sweet and caring woman, she always puts others before herself. But that doesn’t mean she’ll let you walk all over her. She is also known to have a bit of a stern and assertive side to her as well which tends to surprise a lot of people since not many people see that side of her. She loves plants and calls them her “babies”, she even goes so far as to talk to them and treat them like they were human children as she believes it helps them grow and flourish.

Background:

Zera was born in the Common Realm of the Clover kingdom to parents whose names and faces she can’t remember.

When she was about 4–5 years old, her parents were arrested and charged with selling illegal goods, and instead of being sent to a church or orphanage, she was left out on the street to fend for herself. As a young girl, she thought that her parents would come find her when they were released from prison, but they never did.

Instead, for the next two years she was raised by the vendor’s in the Black Market; they would sometimes give her food, water, or a place to sleep…however, none of them would take her in and adopt her. They gave her just enough to survive the day before sending her on her way.

One day, when she was being bullied by other children for “eating out of the trash”, she was found by Rika, a former Magic Knight, and his ‘sons’. Seeing her strength and potential, he brought her to his home and adopted her as one of his children.

As she grew up, she began to grow and sell flowers in the little garden that Rika and her brothers made for her. Eventually, she began to import plants from various other continents, as well as sell the ones she was growing in Clover to those other continents.

Meaning, she had become a flower smuggler.

After gathering enough money smuggling flowers and other various plants, she opened up her own flower shop in the city of Kikka at her father’s encouragement. However, she still goes to the Black Market every day and sell’s the vendor’s flowers.

Started looking at a few of ur artworks and Im absolutely blown away with how unique it looks!

Starting as a beginner artist, was it hard to find ur niche and audience? Or was this something u never really thought about/ realised?

Funnily enough I had the opposite in terms of trying to find an audience when starting out. A lot of my earlier art was just a bunch of random furry ocs/nonsensical doodles/etc just trying to hop on whatever art bandwagon was going on to try and fit in and prove myself as an artist. It was only when I realized I wanted to create impactful art for myself, along with wanting my art to be something that can stand alone and not have to be influenced by context for the viewer to connect with it, that really let me start creating the work I make now. After shifting to more personal work I found people were a lot more receptive to my work, and I just managed to build my little niche over time. Peoples reactions to my current art definitely influences what I make now, but even then I always just created works for myself, and I’m very grateful people like it :)

I do consider the work below as one of my “cornerstone” drawings in terms of my development as an artist, it was my first work were I actually tried working a full scene, along with using it as a vent piece. Really set the tone and standard for all my other works

I feel like I should say since there's been a recent uptick in a lot of communities I'm in/see stuff from a lot of white people pretending to be Asian, but you are not welcome here if you are in anyway stealing from Asian cultures for clout or the aesthetics of it

This includes if you're white and you give your self inserts Asian names, I truly do not care if your f/o is from an anime, you should not be using an Asian name under any circumstances. I hate that whenever I see someone using an Asian name online, I feel like I have to start searching their account to see if they're actually Asian or just a white person who likes the aesthetic of it bcs far too many white people will use Asian names here just bcs it sounds cool, with no regard for the actual cultural meaning behind it. Meanwhile actual Asian people will be mocked for their names, or treated like their names are too hard to learn to pronounce, or discriminated against based on their names

Asian cultures are not a fun little costume for people to dress up with. They aren't just a nice aesthetic, they aren't just a thing you can borrow from bcs you think it sounds cool
