You've been talking in your sleep (you've been having real bad dreams)

pairing: Karl Jacobs/Sapnap

word count: 1392

angst, hurt/comfort, kinda fluff?

summary: Just give me a reason by P!nk feat. Nate Ruess. thats it.

note: i havent written anything other than essays in english, it's not my first language, and i havent written fanfiction in 6 years, let me know my mistakes :)

It was late at night when he started to hear it. The voice of his boyfriend rang in his head, saying things he never heard before.

''I'm so tired of always trying to make you feel better'' he heard. He felt the arms around his waist tighten and he froze. Nick. He must've been talking in his sleep.

Karl didn't know what to think of it. His boyfriend, his one and only, the person he trusted the most in life just accidentally told him he was tired of him. Was he really that hard to handle? Sure he had his problems, the ghosts of past relationships hanging around him made it hard for the two boys to even start their own, but Karl genuinely thought he was getting better. He was communicating better, he was generous with physical affection, he tried to always be there for the other, he couldn't help it if his self-consciousness sometimes got in the way of that.

Karl tried to make sense of it all, but sleep sucked him back in before he could form his next coherent thought.

From that night on, Karl tried his best not to show Nick when he was feeling down. He tried to be as good for him as possible, in fear that if he got too vulnerable, Nick would get fed up and lash out. Every night he would turn his back to Nick as a silent offer for spooning, but also so that the other wouldn't see the tears that might slip out of Karl's grey eyes. But every night, he would hear Nick say something in his sleep. Sometimes just venomous mumbling, sometimes real words about how Nick felt like he was used for emotional support and not a real partner. Karl wondered why Nick hadn't said anything about it when they were both awake, he never seemed to be bothered about Karl's worries before, but all frustration needed an outlet, he supposed.

''Baby, are you okay?'' Nick asked a few days later while they were hanging around on the couch, both clanking away on their laptops. Karl was in a particularly bad mood, the things he heard at night eating away at his wide awake brain made him lose focus and have to restart his work for the second time. He felt like however hard he tried to be good for Nick, the other just saw him as a burden, and messing work up didn't help the feeling of uselessness.

''Yeah, just tired'' he tried for a smile but it came out more as a pout.

''I don't doubt that. You've been restless for the past few nights'' Nick put his laptop on the coffee table and turned to Karl with his whole body. ''Have you been having nightmares?'' he asked, concern clear in his voice.

''You could say that'' Karl murmured and tried to turn his attention back to his screen, trying to ignore the conversation the other attempted to have with him.

''What do you mean? You've been tossing around, and then suddenly freezing each night. Something must be going on'' Nick moved closer to him on the couch, hand moving to his back, but Karl jerked away involuntarily.

''I don't want to talk about it'' he said quietly, moving to stand up and try to leave the room, but Nick stopped him with a careful hand on his forearm and pulled him back down. Nick took his laptop and put it next to his so they could both sit with their legs up, body turned to the other.

''Too bad. You need your rest if you wanna keep up with your work flow. I want to help you, but you haven't talked to me properly in days. I thought you were just working up to saying it, or I don't even know, but you avoid my eyes every time I look at you, you turn away in bed, and even now you're avoiding it. Avoiding me!'' Karl could see Nick was desperately trying to keep his cool to not scare him away and he appreciated the calm tone but it didn't really work.

''Why would you want to help me?'' Karl jumped up and walked to the other side of the room.

''Why would I not? Your work is important to you, and you are important to me! I care about your physical well-being as much as your emotional!'' Nick tried to reason with him, but Karl wasn't having it.

''You? You care about my emotions? Take a fucking hike!'' Karl finally snapped. This was it, the dam broke, everything was going to come out. Nick braced himself, he knew he had to listen to everything very carefully, because Karl couldn't always express himself when he got too worked up, but Nick has learned to read between the lines. ''You talk in your sleep! Did you know that? You say some real weird shit sometimes! Talk about how I haven't talked to you in days, when you only speak your mind when you're asleep! If you're so tired of trying to fix me then why are you even here anymore? Sincerely, thank you for fixing my heart, but if I'm such a burden to you, then just leave! See if I care!'' Karl was fuming, which didn't happen often, but Nick couldn't really focus on Karl's tears and red cheeks as he was still stuck on Karl's words.

''What do you mean I talk in my sleep?'' he asked, choking back his frustration.

''You said-''

''No!'' Nick interrupted. ''What do you mean I talk in my sleep when I haven't slept a single minute the past few nights? You've been tossing and turning and silently crying, and wouldn't wake up however loud I called your name, so I tried to hug you as close as possible so you wouldn't hurt yourself! When would have I had the time to talk in my sleep?'' Nick was close to shouting, but he had the mind to stop himself from getting too loud in case Karl would react poorly to the volume.

Karl couldn't say anything. Looking at Nick he noticed the dark circles under his red rimmed eyes, and thinking back he remembered Nick drinking copious amounts of coffee. Nick didn't drink coffee normally. That could only mean one thing.

''So you said them while you were awake?'' Karl looked like a crazy scientist in a movie, lightbulb above his head and a franctic look in his eyes. ''You said those things to me while I was asleep so you didn't have to face me?'' His voice got lower and lower as his heart broke all that much more.

''What?'' Nick was taken aback. ''What the hell are you talking about?'' He had no idea how Karl came to that conclusion, but frankly, didn't even want to find out. He shook his head. ''No. What I'm getting at is that you might have dreamed it. All of it, probably, because I swear on everything that is holy that I have not said anything about you being a burden. Seriously'' Nick started to approach Karl and held out his hand so that the taller boy had the option of getting closer or staying away.

Karl placed a tentative hand in Nick's, but didn't move otherwise.

''I- I don't understand'' Karl shook his head slightly. ''But- I hear your voice. Every night.''

''I might do actually talk to you while you're asleep'' Nick said sheepishly, scratching st the back of his neck with his free hand. ''I couldn't tell you how much I love you and miss you these past days and I needed you to hear it, even if you were unconscious'' he confessed. ''I guess the message got lost in the in-between.''

''Oh'' Karl felt his cheeks heat up as he moved his eyes to the carpet of their livingroom.

''Yeah'' Nick said dumbly as he squeezed Karl's hand a bit.

''Could you- Um- Could you tell me now?'' Karl asked softly, eyes catching Nick's.

''I would love to'' Nick sighed in relief and led his boyfriend to their bedroom, lying down facing each other, cuddling for real for the first time in days.

Karl might have fallen asleep midway through the confession, but he didn't have any more doubts about his place in Nick's heart.

All goes well when you are ignorant is what my dear best friend would say to me now, as I sit in the very back of the class unfocused on how our teacher is introducing an activity I have no chance of participating in. All I knew was that when Mr. Aizawa walked up to the board and wrote names of people getting offers, I wasn't one of them. Not that I expected to be, considering I wasn't in the sports festival, let alone the school at all back then.

However, I did notice a small inconsistency in the order of the most offers. I was pretty sure that boom boom had gotten first place in the festival, him being there is what convinced me to transfer, but his name was actually second on the board.

Todoroki had taken the place of first as far as offers were concerned. Todoroki the nice boy who I used to meet when I snuck away from my fucking prison cell. Call me privileged for complaining about living in a mansion All my life, but I much prefer being here. With common folk. They ground me.

I peeked up from my phone at the red and white head of hair in front of me, he didn't seem all that fazed. Although maybe it was just the lack of seeing his face that made me believe he couldn't care less about all but one of those offers. Still, his business is his, and my business is the new Ao3 update on my favorite chrollo lucilfer fanfiction. What a babe.

I decided that the class as of right now would be of no importance to me, considering I will have no offers, and bakugou-the reason I came here- hates me like I'm a piece of gum stuck under his shoe. Through that conclusion I allowed myself to dissolve into the world of hxh and forget about how boring this world is.

Could my power beat Killua or go in a fight? I mean, it doesn't enhance my strength like they did trying to get into Killua's house so physically they must be stronger.

"Y/n! Is there something you would like to share with the class?"

Mr.Aizawas voice seemed almost shot at me as my gaze rose from my phone in my lap to meet him at the front of the room. He looked displeased to say the least. Well good for him, im displeased too, I might not be able to beat a fucking twelve year old in combat.

"Huh?"

"You were grumbling, what's so important you had to tell us, hm?"

I thought it through for a second- just kidding, I never think anything through.

"Oh, well I wasn't sure if I could beat Gon in a fight, but I'm not coming to the realization that if Chrollo is my boyfriend, I shouldn't have to fight anyone at all. I can just be a pretty face in the backgrounds and then after he wins for me i'll suck his-"

"Enough, y/n." Mr.Aizawa no longer held a tired looking face, his eyes were wide and an uncomfortable cringed was set on his face. As I peered at the rest of the class many also had shocked eyes, but unlike our teacher, held faint blushes.

Minus midoriya, his face was completely red and his eyes void of life. I must've killed him, huh.

"Wait!"

In an attempt to regain some dignity, I tried to correct myself.

"I would....not suck his-?"

"Don't even say it, shitty princess !"

"Woah bakugou, you spoke to me on purpose!?"

"Shut up!"

"Hey, how come you call me princess, you like me or something?"

He growled at that, neither of us paying mind to the fact that everyone in the class was either dead from nosebleeds or extremely uncomfortable and staring at us.

"Its cuz you act fucking entitled like a princess"

"I'll be your pillow princes-"

"Enough!" A robotic-like hand sliced the air in front of me. The voice sounded firm, almost more teacher-like than our teacher's voice. I followed my gaze up the hand, not failing to notice how as I drew up the guy's arm his muscles only seemed to get bigger and bigger and- iida?

"Oh class rep-"

"Y/n this vulgar language and border-line harassment needs to cease immediately. I will not tolerante overtly sexual language and acts in this class-"

As he was speaking I noticed something ironic about the situation. If everyone here didn't like sexual jokes or banter, how were they so flustered at comments that objectively should be unknown to them.

"How did you know what I meant, iida?" I rasped in a low sultry voice, allowing my fingers to dance up his arm starting at the wrist in front of my face.

I heard a few chuckles from, who I would say are the only two people enjoying this situation: kaminari and...stinky mineta. Iida's face grew more red than previously and the arms in front of me began shaking.

"Mr.Aizawa it seems I've disarmed the robot. Is there a restart button or something?" I question with a serious face using the search as an excuse to wonder my eyes all over his body. Perverted? Yes. Rightfully attracted to this giant hunk of a nerd. Yes ×10.

"No, there is not." Todoroki, who was in front of me, finally turned around to address me. I guess he was unfazed by my words. Looks like someone here can be cool. Whether he is okay because he is more comfortable with sexual jokes, or because he has yet to pick up on them, its nice that somebody in here can still function. Otherwise, I'd feel like a nuisance.

"Y/n I'm not really sure how to- let's just say to have detention with your m- midnight. Detention. Yeah." Aizawa publicly convinced himself of my punishment?

"Okay"

"Now, back to this, even if you didn't get any offers ALL of you will have an internship"

And so went on the class, kids chose their hero names, not me though. I wasn't even sure I wanted to be a hero at all, this was just a little less boring and sad than the way I lived before. This school had people who laughed in joy, not just to mask the pain. That was the real benefit, not being a hero, or being strong. Likely no one here realized that there were many places where none of this joy was possible.

Some of the kids in class gave me suggestions for a hero name, but I didn't like them anyway. They lacked personality, and while I have many adjectives to describe my personality, my life, none of them are all that heroic.

"Dark element"

See, I'm not the best at this. Even bakugan names had some sense to it...well no. I'd say we're about the same, but still. Ugh.

She came up with no hero names. Fucking entitled brat. Everyone at this lunch table seems to have no problem with the fact that she is here, just happy to have another pair of tits to stare at like perverts. Their gross. I bet she doesn't even want to be a hero, she sure as hell doesn't act like it. We don't even know what her whole quirk is. Ive seen her do that plant shit a couple times, fucking with flowers or whatever. Still, there's more to it. Something we don't know, at least. Cuz in the middle of class she gets up and whispers to Aizawa and he just lets her go. Where the fuck does she go?

Interrupts class, got into the school because her moms a teacher, won't use her quirk. What a nuisance, I can't believe she is not expelled yet. Plus those bullshit sex jokes are so shitty. She is obviously faking something when she does them. Not like midnight, who always at least seems like she means that gross shit.

"Hey, who did you guys choose for your internship? I haven't chosen yet."

"The number three hero guy," I spoke, knowing I'm the only person here who already chose.

"Really? Best jeanist! That's so cool, but are you sure that for you bakugou?" Shitty hair raised a shitty brow at me.

"What the hell is that supposed to mean!?"

"Just that he seems pretty...uptight..for you?" Dunceface added, but he spoke like it was a question. Of course he is the hero for me, he is the highest ranting hero on my list. If I wanna be number one, I gotta train with the best.

If I go to his agency I'm sure there will be a lot more action, since he is so high ranking. Then i'll get some real experience kicking villain ass, well, other than the USJ.

"Of course he is the right option!"

"Woahhh~"

Shit. It's her voice. I honestly should applaud her for using it less often around me but, how can one small girl be so goddamn annoying. I don't even know what she has to say and I already wish she would just put a sock in it. How can someone so entitled like her, probably never had to lift a finger, walk over here and talk like she has something to say.

"You're working with the best jeanist! So cool, one time he saved me from a group of rapist guys, it was awesome with all these strings everywhere and I could only see half of his face. Oh and he had goofy hair too!"

Oh. I didn't really know how to respond to the girl who looked so excited about almost being violated. Another thing wrong with her? I looked back at the other people at the table to see if they knew how to respond to something like that.

Dunceface was frozen, tape arms were frozen, shitty hair was frozen, and alíen eyes were looking like a lost puppy and trying not to cry.

It didnt seem like the shutty princess was exactly understanding how what she just yelled was making things weird. She just stood there expectantly. She kinda looked like she thought being raped was something that must happen to everyone. Did she think that? Wouldn't put it past her weird ass.

"Uhm...anyways, i'm sure you'll do awesome, he likes to put boys in tight jeans. Wish I could intern too, I'd love to see that boom boom~" she winked.

A perverted joke...and then she had the audacity to wink at me.

"You wish you could see me in tight jeans, shitty extra!"

"I know...thats what a I just said." She dead panned, blinking a couple times at me.

"Tch, screw you!"

"I would-"

"Can it, i don't wanna hear your shitty voice anymore"

The girl stopped herself after my words, pushing all her hair behind her head, except for the two blond stands in the front.

(You don't have to acknowledge these if you don't want, but I made it so that they change color depending on what element your using and I thought it was hot*if you have short hair, then you just got a lil nishinoya type thing 🥰)

Lifted her obnoxious hands that moved around while she talked and made a zipper-like motion over her lips. Then she just stood there looking at me. I really wanted to just let her stand there and go back to eating. Ignore her completely and let her hope fizzle out and die or something like that.

Yet here I am, still looking at her. Silently. Wishing she made a stupid joke so that I could stop flickering between those images I'd seen of her dancing. How even though ballet is a princess fucking dance, the pictures felt nice. Like if I was watching it live I would probably be unable to criticize it. That pissed me off, because I want to hate everything about her, but I can't hate those photos. Where she looks like she is flying, without any need for a quirk.

I see her in that weird gown, and now, in the UA uniform. I see her looking respectable, formal, and serious. Then I see her stupid little smirk as she takes pride in being able to shut up for more than a minute.

"Why are you still standing there?"

Instead of answering, she took her hand up again, made a pinch with her fingers and unzipped her mouth.

"I was enjoying the look in your eyes."she smiled.

The look in my eyes? Could she tell I was seeing two different people? What the hell does that even mean? Even said it without that shitty flirt voice. Like she meant it.

"You tryna make fun of me?"I stood up from the table to get in her face.

"Not right now, maybe later, I gotta do something." She smiled sincerely at me, for a second as she walked away, I forgot about how this conversation started. What a wierd fucking girl. I'll never respect her as a hero. Tch. (Yes, its canon he tchs even in his thoughts)

i had an ipod touch for five years, i have experience in getting offline music. i hope you’re okay with breaking the law a little. i don't usually share this information but i can’t say no to my inbox.

disclamier #1: i’m not pirating “apple music” but ive been putting stuff in my apple library free of charge for years. i have free spotify so i dont really need ANOTHER streaming service, but i like downloading music for offline play.

disclaimer #2: i have an iphone and an hp laptop. i have no idea if this works on android/mac/linux, but feel free to try.

SPOTIFY

*ive heard this only works if your phone is jailbroken. its worked for all of my friends just fine, so give it a shot whether your phone is jailbroken or not*

1. alright so first you’re gonna delete free spotify off your phone.

2. you’re gonna google this thing called a configuration profile on your phone. i use app valley, but there’s a few out there.

3. find one and download it, and allow it to makes changes to your phone (settings > general > profiles & device management on iphone).

4. open that bad boy up and look for spotify. yes i know it looks sketchy and yes i know they have a lot of jailbroken apps but we’re looking for spotify. i’ve had the most luck with spotify ++ and spotify fix, but you can get one of the colorful ones if you want.

5. download it.

6. once its on your phone, go to the same place in settings and look at your “enterprise apps.” select it and trust it. now, log into the app just like you would spotify.

7. now you’ve got free spotify except you can’t download songs for offline play. that’s where we get into free apple music.

*free premium speads to your computer/console/wherever you have spotify downloaded, so no more ads anywhere*

*sometimes free spotify goes down, you get a notification about how the “certificates can’t be trusted” when you try to open the app. delete it and try to download it again. if that doesn’t work, you have to go back to free spotify, but it comes back. trust me.*

1. open up youtube and a youtube to mp3 converter. ive used mp3juices for years but use whatever makes you comfortable.

2. now, you’re gonna make sure you’re getting ads on youtube by whitelisting it on your adblocker, because in this house we support independent creators and we support those fine ass bitches through ad rev you hear me?

3. now that you’ve done your part, you’re gonna look up the song you want to download, the artist, and “topic”. (ex. “mr brightside the killers topic). this is gonna lead you to a high-res audio of the song without any weird breaks or speaking in it, unlike a lyric video or a music video. some songs don’t have “topic” videos, so you have to quality check them. it really doesn’t matter, but im really picky with what i download. the “topic” audios are part of youtube music but anyone can listen to them. they’re literally made to be downloaded and they support the artist.

4. copy the link and paste it into your converter, then download it. close any other tabs the converter tries to open up and don’t worry about them. you’re gonna download as many songs as you want. i usually do an album at a time.

*if you don’t care about album art/album organization, skip to step 10. i care a lot, so the next part is really important to me*

5. once you’re done, you’re gonna put all of those audio files on your desktop and get to the real pirating. if you’re like me and getting full albums at once, you can make this easier by selecting every song in an album at a time. all the info doesn’t have to go in at the same time. right-click and go down to “properties”

6. once you’re there go over to the details tab

7. i hope you didn’t close firefox bc we’re gonna google the album. you need, in order, the following:

- the song title

- the album artist

- the album name

-the year

-the song # on the album

-the genre

and, if you look down at the “origin”, you need the publisher. the publisher is the record company (island records, warner, billboard, etc).

the internet is going to give you all of this on page one. if you can’t find something wikipedia has your back. while you’re there get the apple music album art. (ex. “american idiot apple”)

8. you can put in things like the album name and artist for multiple songs at the same time. i do that and then go back and change the song names/track numbers. dont forget to change the file name in general as well. this is more for organization’s sake but still, do it. don’t stress about special characters.

9. once you’ve changed all the properties, make a folder for the album. drop the album’s songs in it. if you’re only downloading one song, or a handful of singles/songs on different albums, this is optional.

10. open itunes

11. drag and drop the album folder/re-propertied album file into itunes. let it transfer. there will be no album art. there’s not suppoed to be album art yet.

12. right click on the album in itunes. go over to the “album art” tab. it’s gonna be empty. look at the bottom and click “add album art” (or something similar). upload the album art you downloaded. its gonna be blurry but thats gonna go away once its on your phone

13. now, plug your phone into your computer and sync your phone. the music and the album art should get synced. if you get any error messages, or if the album art doesn’t transfer, retry it. you might have to close itunes or restart your phone, but it usually works. dont give up, no one said stealing from the rich was easy

14. once the music is on your phone, don’t delete the files. i have a music folder on my desktop with all of my albums in it. if you delete the audio files on your computer, your phone will lose the tracks the next time you add music.

15. enjoy your music! if you did steps 5-9, everything will look legit and apple will be none the wiser. if you skipped those steps, you’ll still have music on your phone.

*i have friends that have done this with androids through the google music app. you might have to do something a little different, but it should still work.*

if you still feel bad about stealing music/you don’t have a laptop, there are other options. apps like audiomack and musi let you download music to listen to offline in their apps. both apps have ads online but they dont’ interrupt playback , and both apps let you lock your phone or switch apps. as long as you don’t sell these songs as your own, it’s not technically illegal ;)

A Simple Beginners Guide-HOW TO INSTALL CUSTOM CONTENT(CC) AND MODS FOR TS4 (The Sims 4).

You dont need to be “good with computers” or “tech savy” at all. Its a simple move from one folder to the next.

Common Misconceptions

I know many new cc/mod users are hesitant because they think its too complicated or think cc and mods might give you a virus but i assure you CC and Mods do not give you viruses ( none that ive ever experienced in my 12+ years of cc downloading for ts2,ts3 and ts4). The only virus you may get is if you are clicking ads that have nothing to do with the download. You shouldnt be clicking those ads. They are just spam.

“corrupted cc errors” it doesnt mean its a virus so stay calm. It means something went wrong with creating the file itself and the creator needs to be notified so they can fix it.

Common Things I have heard “mods will mess up your game over time” or “mods will eventually break your game”. Let me straighten this out. if you “know someone, or heard of someone” then its likely they downloaded mods without carefully reading if they had the required expansions or the correct updated game version, or maybe they have mods that conflicted” These problems people have are mostly human error, not mod problems. So always read carefully and test 1 script mod at a time. and check compatibility.

1.Download Winrar. This is a free program that lets you extract the files that are packed for many CC and Mods for Ts4 games. Yes its 100% safe.

2.Now you can begin downloading Custom Content & Mods. It varies from creator to creator how they store their files and how many clicks and sites you end up going through before finding the actual file link, but most should be pretty straight forward and easy to find. In Picture number 2 you can see an example of the screen when clicking a download link. You do not want to click the advertisements on the page or any weird popups. Only click the thing that says “Skip Ad” which you can do after a short countdown. If a popup ad comes up close that and ignore and continue to your file.

3.Dont be confused by multiple links ( they have multiple as backups incase one isnt working for some reason). Just pick and choose and see which works best for you. They most often go through a site that contains an advertisement. DO NOT click on the ad itself. Just wait for the little countdown( often top right, sometimes bottom) .Thats the button you click Next to get to the file.

4. Now double click and open your winrar zipped file that contains the custom content or mod you have just downloaded. Do not try to open the actual package file inside of this.You arent suppose to.

5.Follow the instructions pictured. select the file or files, click the button at the top “extract to” then look through those folders to locate “Electronic Arts-Ts4-Mods), select the mods folder, then at the bottom of that little popup screen click “OK”. now the files are in your games Mod folder.

6. Start up your game. Now open the game Options menu and and under “Other” you need to check “Enable Custom Content & Mods” and “Script Mods Allowed”.Apply Changes. now exit your game and restart. Your new content should be in the game.

Weight today 1/31/19

It actually 110.4 calibrating and my phone. I’m a 243

Where to begin. So much was supposed to be typed out yesterday but I spent the whole day cleaning then fell asleep.

The Binge

I binged for two days and it was an eye opening, learning, as well as a humbling experience.

Why did I binge? Well it started out harmless. I was just going to have one cup of elote. But then I also had a coupon for free chicken tenders at Chick fila. All of that was under 600 calories. The problem was why did I think I just HAD to have the elote? I tried to convince myself that “well I’m never in the area, so I might as well” why? If you are 240lbs at 5’5 why do you feel like you deserve it? Thats the mindset someone should have if they’re a healthy weight. YOU’RE NOT. Having a bit here and there is harmless to someone who is HEALTHY. Not someone who has 90lbs to lose.

I realize that I’m not allowed to have that way of thinking because I haven’t earned it yet. I felt cocky. “Well I lost 10lbs in three days” sis you were 250lbs and you’re now 240lbs. You’re still fucking fat. To me it felt like alot of weight but in reality it was only 10lbs. Not much has changed.

Idk how I went from elote to a box of pizza. The voice in my head was extremely loud and convincing. I’m not strong enough yet to fight it. I shouldn’t give them room to manipulate me. If I start thinking of food some how I will be convinced to eat more than I set out too. I have a food addiction and use it to cope with all my emotions. I have emotions because I live in a toxic environment. I will continue to be fat if I don’t make changes and acknowledge my triggers.

I felt so mad at myself I talked myself into a panic attack. Only to binge again the next day. I know why. Because it was around me. Food in my room will trigger a binge. If I had put it down stairs in the freezer I wouldn’t have eaten it. So why didn’t I take it downstairs? I was full and stuffed to the brim I had no energy to do it. I thought I had the will power to do it the next day. But I didn’t. How could I? I only JUST started this diet.

Realizing I have no self control as much as I thought I did humbled me alot. I thought it was enough to see progress on the scale but it isn’t its actually worse. If I see progress on the scale I will convince myself, I deserve a treat. Hence the elote. I don’t deserve anything until I get out of the 200’s maybe not even then but its a start.

I need to stop thinking I should treat myself with food. The ultimate treat is fitting into smaller jeans. Getting to my goal weight. Start getting attention from guys like I was.

What to take away from this.

Humble yourself

The food didn’t even taste good. It really is true that nothing taste as good as skinny does. Honestly its the truth. Putting on weight for temporary satisfaction is not worth it. Especially when I was doing so good. Now I’m behind. I could have been in the 230’s going back to work. Skinnier than the last time they saw me. Made my boss like me even more. But no. I HAD to eat. I’m ashamed of myself.

Weight loss: When do you see it?

Another thing to note is when I lost that 10lbs I didn’t really see it until 2 days later. I lost it over the weekend Friday-Sunday. Didn’t see it until Tuesday. It takes time for the body to adjust to weightloss.

Motivation

I completely forgot what I started this journey. I want to be a cam girl. I’m not going to be successful at the weight I am so thats why I need to lose weight. I want my own place. The reasons I eat is because I’m in such a toxic environment. It is dangering my mental health the longer I stay here. I’m only realizing it now. I HAVE TO GET OUT. My uncle told me this 2 years ago and it didn’t register until now.

I will never get out of this house if I don’t get money and I will never get money until I lose weight.

The next time I want to binge I’m going to remember this. Remember how much weight I gained. Remember the urges to continue binging the next day. Remember the triggers. Remember the money spent. Remember the bloating.

All I need is about 10k to fully move out and furnish my apartment. I can live there a good 5 months. I know I will be happier. Imagine how bad home life has to be that you would rather pay rent than live free.

My mother.

I’m realizing just how toxic she is. As much as my father is physically and mentally abusive so is she. I will always hate him more though. But she is a sick individual. She will tell me to pay the light bill with her card but also tell me its my fathers bill to pay. She knows I will get angry, but told me anyway. The light shuts off, and I told her the light is out. She tells me to stay out of it. All these months you dragged me into the drama but when I say one thing you tell me to stay out of it!?! How would I have even known it was his bill if you didn’t tell me?! And when I call her out on it she says then maybe we should help pay the bill. Fuck you. I’m not paying for shit in that house I will pay for my own. And when I leave who will you direct the bill towards? Not my brother lmao. You never bother him. Its just so funny. If I think long enough I can probably pin point a whole bunch of manipulative stuff she does. Honestly she was happier when I was 300. She controlled me. She knew I had low self esteem and I was easier to manipulate same with my father. He used my car added mileage to it for 7 months and not once did he ever tell me to get a job or lose weight. He didn’t care as long as he had a car. As I get older I realize just how sick these people truly are. My own parents. And how living with them has affected me mentally. School isnt an option right now. Though I do want to go back. I have to do what I got to, to get out.

I am not waiting for another incident. I need to get out as soon as possible. That alone should be my motivation to get out. If I sit there and cry and eat I will be stuck here like I have been. Its time to TRY, my life is at stake.

WEIGHT

I gained 5lbs and so far lost 2lbs. I should be at least 237lbs now but I’m not because of the choices I made. I’m not going to keep thinking about it. Just moving forward I can’t afford (literally) to do it anymore. Restart.

Keep myself busy

I’m trying to get out of this house. I should try multiple avenues to get money. I have so many clothes and shoes to sell and haven’t started listing them yet. That could bring extra income. When I’m not busy I tend to think of food. I need to do more I am not doing enough

Privacy

Another incentive to losing weight and getting my own place. I’ve had opportunities to do skype calls for money but I can’t be overheard doing them because I don’t have any privacy. Someone will ask what am I doing. If I have my own place I don’t answer to anyone.

About the iOS 12.0.1 Software License: The Serpent Behind the Bite

usually, when i update my iPhone 6 to a new version of iOS, i just click or tap Agree and go on with my life. but the update to iOS 12.0.1 was different. i wanted to know exactly what rights i am renouncing in my compulsory agreement to the iOS software license. these contracts are not friendly documents and show a company’s real personality instead of its bubbly and friendly marketingeese. when it comes to an internet company’s relationship with its customers, license agreements is where the rubber hits the road.

an alternative to Apple would have as its North Star the happiness of its customers, not profits. this alternative would be honest, respectful, humane, and reliable. and it would not hide behind disclaimers to protect itself against defects and failures of its products, because its products would be built on solid and secure foundations by knowledgeable professionals who follow sound development practices and who put the needs of their customers first, second, and third.

starting the update

after launching iTunes on my Mac and plugging in my iPhone to it, this dialog appeared:

i need a concierge not a coach

the iPhone Software Update window now points me to safety information. it identifies an Important Product Information Guide document, apparently located here. that webpage, titled Manuals, doesn’t feature such document prominently.

the webpage offers me 49 search results for the term iPhone. now i have to look for a document that has “important safety information about my iPhone 6.” after clicking the “Load more results” button, i found the “iPhone 6 – safety, warranty, and regulatory information” result. clicking it reveals the document that usually comes in the little booklets included in iPhone packaging. are these booklets no longer included in the box? according to Flossy Carter, they still come in there. maybe Apple wants or is required to provide access to the content in those booklets regardless of how a person obtained an iPhone device. but getting pointed to it on every operating-system update seems weird.

iTunes knows exactly what device is being updated. a person-first experience would’ve displayed the document that applies to my device with no fuss instead of directing me to open a search page in a web browser, where i have to scan search results looking for a document whose title doesn’t match the very specific title the iPhone Software Update window provides.

the interaction thats supposed to get me to the “iPhone 6 – safety, warranty, and regulatory information” is very inefficient and, ultimately, unsatisfactory. the messaging in the update window makes it seem that my viewing the “iPhone 6 – safety, warranty, and regulatory information” document is a critical task. it isn’t.

instead of displaying the safety content directly, iTunes gave me a text URL, which i had to open in a web browser where i got to a confusing webpage. in there, i had to figure out that the page is a search page. then, i had to scan the results in search of a document using inaccurate information. because i am not using the latest devices, i had to click a button to the get to the right result set. and finally, i had to click what appeared to be the right to find out that the content wasn’t really that important for me.

Apple wasted my time. first, the iPhone Software Update window is the wrong place for me to access the iPhone 6 safety, warranty, and regulatory information. second, the name used to identify that content in the window is not accurate. third, iTunes shouldn’t have pointed me to a search page to find the content that an integrated software ecosystem—in this case macOS, iTunes, and the back end software—should have presented to me directly.

also, iTunes knows (or should know, with the appropriate data model) that i have used this phone for years and that i have updated its operating system many times through iTunes. (i back up the phone to my laptop and there are several backups present.) the iPhone Software Update window should not have asked me to read safety and regulatory content at this point in my ownership of the device. it’s 2018, software must be smart. it should bring the content i need to see to me, not send me on a wild goose chase to find it. it shouldn’t make me do things i don’t need to do. it shouldn’t waste my time.

to agree or to decline, not really an option

the iPhone Software Update window gives you two options (apart from the ability to save the license agreement to your Mac):

Decline: reject the new contract and remain on iOS 12.0

Agree: accept the agreement and continue the update process

i first clicked Save and then spent about 50 minutes reading the software license agreement. i have already accepted the iOS 12.0 license agreement (even though i didn’t read it then). the iOS 12.0.1 agreement should be almost the same. but Apple doesn’t provide a summary of the contract or the changes from the previous version; it’s on me to read the entire agreement, whether i already read the iOS 12.0 agreement.

every time you update the operating system on your phone, you must spend about an hour reading a contract that is very similar to the previous contract! this is not a good user experience.

installing the update

after reading the new contract using the Pages app, i clicked Agree in the iPhone Software Update window. iTunes did nothing to let me know what was going on. it didn’t say that it was downloading anything, the main status display didn’t change, the interface reflected nothing about the update process. all i could do what wait for something to happen. that was a very frustrating experience because i didn’t feel that iTunes cared about my time. software must always show the user respect, dereference, and value of eir time.

my only recourse for determining whether something was actually happening was to launch Activity Monitor, and examine the CPU and Network panes of its main window. at first, i saw that iTunes was busy doing something, its received bytes were increasing, but after a short period its activity stopped. so, maybe because it took me 50 minutes to read the software license, some operation of the update process timed out, and the process failed silently (i hadn’t unplugged the phone from the laptop). iTunes had failed in its task and didn’t tell me about it. silent failures in software is a sign of disrespect for the user.

i restarted the update process, this time with no delay for reading the license i compulsorily agreed to; i also clicked Download and Update in the update·process-initiation dialog. however, i got this:

note: an “unknown error occurred” doesn’t instill a lot of confidence in the software i use to manage the installation of my phone’s operating system. if iTunes doesn’t recognize a particular situation, it should ask the software component that produced the error to elaborate and come up with language that can be presented to the user. the “most advanced operating system in the world” and the apps that run on it must stop using the most archaic language in computing to communicate with its users. the time of unknown errors in software is gone. when communicating with people, software must use language they can easily understand. i shouldn’t be left wondering what could’ve gone wrong, or whether it was my fault. and, no, a “catch all” webpage that gives you steps to take that may fix an undetermined problem (like the one pictured below) is not the solution. smarter, reliable software is the solution. all that powerful silicon, all those cores must be used for something useful for people, not just for producing smooth animations.

because i know better, i unplugged my phone from the laptop, restarted iTunes, and plugged the phone back in. now, after starting the update for the third time, i got some information about the update process:

so iTunes appears to be sensitive about timing, which results in a bad experience, something that should be abolished when it comes to personal computing. it appears that no one at Apple is following the workflow Apple tells its customers to follow when updating the operating system on their phones. no one at Apple is updating the operating system on an iPhone device while simulating what a regular user would do when updating the software on eir iPhone device: actually reading the software license agreement before downloading the software.

an analysis of the agreement

after installing iOS 12.0.1 on my phone, i was ready to spend some time going through the software license again, more carefully and making notes along the way.

Apple expects you to read the entire license agreement every time you update your phone’s operating system. this is because it says that you must agree to be bound by the new agreement while not providing you with a list of changes made to the previous agreement, or even a list of statements that summarize the agreement for those who would like to get an idea of what it says without reading the entire document.

that’s a terrible experience.

companies such as Apple need to provide a faster, easier way of communicating their license agreements with people if they expect people to keep buying and using their products, and trusting them with their valuable personal data.

providing a video that describes what you’re agreeing to using multimedia would be a great approach. also, summarizing the agreement into a bullet list of its most salient points, from the customers perspective, would help to give people the essential information they need to make a solid decision about the very consequential contract they’re about to enter into. for people who have agreed to the previous contract, a list of the differences between the previous and the current contract would inform them of how their relationship with the company is evolving, and give them confidence that they are dealing with a trustworthy entity who values its relationships with its customers, as opposed to a stranger who wants to take them for everything they got.

the following sections provide snippets of the iOS 12.0.1 software license agreement along with my comments.

2. Permitted License Uses and Restrictions.

(i) You acknowledge that many features, built-in apps, and Services of the iOS Software transmit data and could impact charges to your data plan, and that you are responsible for any such charges. You can view and control which applications are permitted to use cellular data and view an estimate of how much data such applications have consumed under Cellular Data Settings. In addition, Wi-Fi Assist will automatically switch to cellular when you have a poor Wi-Fi connection, which might result in more cellular data use and impact charges to your data plan. Wi-Fi Assist is on by default, but can be disabled under Settings. For more information, please consult the User Guide for your iOS Device.

out of the box, iOS is configured in such a way that you may incur significant data charges (depending on things such as your cellular-service provider and your location)

to help prevent high cellular-service bills, Apple should make the Wi-Fi Assist feature opt-in (a “good” experience at a high cost is not a good experience).

this default configuration—in combination with the cellular carriers—may be construed as collusion between Apple and the cellular carriers to increase the revenue of cellular carriers, which would be untrustworthy behavior. making Wi-Fi Assist opt-in would alleviate that concern.

4. Consent to Use of Data.

When you use your device, your phone number and certain unique identifiers for your iOS Device are sent to Apple in order to allow others to reach you by your phone number when using various communication features of the iOS Software, such as iMessage and FaceTime. When you use iMessage, Apple may hold your messages in encrypted form for a limited period of time in order to ensure their delivery. You may turn off FaceTime or iMessage by going to the FaceTime or Messages settings on your iOS Device. Certain features like Analytics, Location Services, Siri, and Dictation may require information from your iOS Device to provide their respective functions. When you turn on or use these features, details will be provided regarding what information is sent to Apple and how the information may be used. You can learn more by visiting https://www.apple.com/privacy/. At all times your information will be treated in accordance with Apple’s Privacy Policy, which can be viewed at: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/.

Apple, and many other companies, use phone numbers as a main way to identify people. phone numbers, email addresses, and other similar data should be treated as the private data that it is; they should not be required to communicate with a particular person. people without a phone number or an email address should be able to live a full digital life.

people should have just a few core identifiers that entities use to connect with a particular person. the core identifiers should be:

fullname

birthdate

birthplace

other identifies could be picture and nickname.

a people-centric internet would ensure the privacy of personally identifiable information, such as phone numbers and email addresses. current infrastructure and practice makes that impossible.

we need an internet capable of making connections between people that doesn’t require knowledge and disclosure of phone numbers and email addresses.

5. Services and Third Party Materials.

(i) In addition, Services and Third Party Materials that may be accessed, linked to or displayed on the iOS Device are not available in all languages or in all countries or regions. Apple makes no representation that such Services and Third Party Materials are appropriate or available for use in any particular location. To the extent you choose to use or access such Services and Third Party Materials, you do so at your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with any applicable laws, including but not limited to applicable local laws and privacy and data collection laws. Sharing or syncing photos through your iOS Device may cause metadata, including where and when the photo was taken, and depth information, to be transmitted with the photos. Use of Apple services (such as iCloud Photo Library) to share or sync such photos will involve Apple receiving and storing such metadata. Apple and its licensors reserve the right to change, suspend, remove, or disable access to any Services at any time without notice. In no event will Apple be liable for the removal of or disabling of access to any such Services. Apple may also impose limits on the use of or access to certain Services, in any case and without notice or liability.

why would Apple “disable access to any Services at any time without notice”? Apple is saying that without any justification to you, it can stop a service that you’re counting on. this is vile, untrustworthy, and mean behavior.

but, really, why would Apple have this statement in its software license agreement? to protect itself because your happiness is not Apple’s North Star. profit is Apple’s North Star. regardless of what its executives say in public, keeping its shareholders happy is Apple’s main motivation (as it should be because it is a publicly traded company).

a trustworthy entity that provides a service to you must provide that service without fail, or disclose to you the failure or the reason for the suspension of the service. if you ordered fries, you get fries, or you get a substitute. there is no third choice. oh, yes, you could leave. but where to? to your own platform, one that uses smart software components based upon reliable foundations that puts your interests first, in every respect.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties.

7.1 If you are a customer who is a consumer (someone who uses the iOS Software outside of your trade, business or profession), you may have legal rights in your country of residence which would prohibit the following limitations from applying to you, and where prohibited they will not apply to you. To find out more about rights, you should contact a local consumer advice organization.

section 7 of the agreement is very important and is the most difficult to understand because its purpose is not to inform. the purpose of the section is to give Apple its minimal default liability in regard with its dealings with users of iOS 12.0.1. its implications depend on where you live and the laws enacted there to protect your rights as a consumer of Apple products and services.

Apple is disclaiming all expectations of quality and performance (implied as a function of its offering of the products for sale and you purchasing them, or stated through its literature); it’s providing a “default” condition where it’s not liable for anything. but in your jurisdiction some or all these disclaimers could be legally meaningless because it may have laws that protect consumers from inaccurate or false product claims, failures, and not meeting implied or expressed quality and performance expectations.

companies could engender goodwill by providing comprehensive licenses that take into account a person’s location, or providing assistance to their customers in finding out what are their legal rights regarding the company’s products. in this regard, a third party could offer a service to companies and their customers that aggregates a company’s product information with local laws to determine a product’s real liability in a particular jurisdiction.

ultimately, you should consult with a lawyer to find out the true warranties of iOS 12.0.1 in your area.

7.3 TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE iOS SOFTWARE AND SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITH ALL FAULTS AND WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, AND APPLE AND APPLE’S LICENSORS (COLLECTIVELY REFERRED TO AS “APPLE” FOR THE PURPOSES OF SECTIONS 7 AND 8) HEREBY DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES AND CONDITIONS WITH RESPECT TO THE iOS SOFTWARE AND SERVICES, EITHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES AND/OR CONDITIONS OF MERCHANTABILITY, SATISFACTORY QUALITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, QUIET ENJOYMENT, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT OF THIRD PARTY RIGHTS.

this is where Apple disavows all legal responsibility for the performance and quality of iOS 12.0.1, including those Apple states in its literature. for example, if the iOS 12 lauded privacy features are ineffective and your information is accessed by a third party or you are tracked surreptitiously, Apple’s default position is that it isn’t liable, even if the reason for you getting an iPhone was its capability to protect your private data and prevent you from being tracked by third parties.

but if there are laws that protect your rights as a consumer where you live, you could have a case against Apple for providing a defective product or using deceptive practices. consult with a lawyer to find out your legal rights.

7.4 APPLE DOES NOT WARRANT AGAINST INTERFERENCE WITH YOUR ENJOYMENT OF THE iOS SOFTWARE AND SERVICES, THAT THE FUNCTIONS CONTAINED IN, OR SERVICES PERFORMED OR PROVIDED BY, THE iOS SOFTWARE WILL MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS, THAT THE OPERATION OF THE iOS SOFTWARE AND SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE, THAT ANY SERVICE WILL CONTINUE TO BE MADE AVAILABLE, THAT DEFECTS IN THE iOS SOFTWARE OR SERVICES WILL BE CORRECTED, OR THAT THE iOS SOFTWARE WILL BE COMPATIBLE OR WORK WITH ANY THIRD PARTY SOFTWARE, APPLICATIONS OR THIRD PARTY SERVICES. INSTALLATION OF THIS iOS SOFTWARE MAY AFFECT THE AVAILABILITY AND USABILITY OF THIRD PARTY SOFTWARE, APPLICATIONS OR THIRD PARTY SERVICES, AS WELL AS APPLE PRODUCTS AND SERVICES.

Apple is protecting itself against lawsuits due to a faulty iOS 12.0.1. in 2018, people must have a way to maximize their chances of using services from companies that stake their reputation on the quality of those services. users must know that services never fail because they’re built by knowledgeable professionals using sound development practices. they must also know that if a service does fail, for any reason, the service provider will not hide behind lincense agreement that is very favorable to it to avoid any consequences of its failures to its customers. i call this the stand by your product pledge.

trustworthy companies use trustworthy and reliable software components built on solid foundations. trustworthy companies treat their customers with respect.

we need a network that helps companies behave honestly, respectfully, and with accountability towards its core members: people. we need a person-centric internet.

7.6 NO ORAL OR WRITTEN INFORMATION OR ADVICE GIVEN BY APPLE OR AN APPLE AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE SHALL CREATE A WARRANTY. SHOULD THE iOS SOFTWARE OR SERVICES PROVE DEFECTIVE, YOU ASSUME THE ENTIRE COST OF ALL NECESSARY SERVICING, REPAIR OR CORRECTION. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OF IMPLIED WARRANTIES OR LIMITATIONS ON APPLICABLE STATUTORY RIGHTS OF A CONSUMER, SO THE ABOVE EXCLUSION AND LIMITATIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

unless your jurisdiction protects your rights as a consumer, according to Apple you are responsible for the costs of fixing Apple’s failures. but local laws can protect you against this position, taken by a company who has made its fortune from people who buy its products based on its image and reputation, an image and reputation that’s soundly betrayed in this section of the license agreement.

8. Limitation of Liability.

SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF LIABILITY FOR PERSONAL INJURY, OR OF INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, SO THIS LIMITATION MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU. In no event shall Apple’s total liability to you for all damages (other than as may be required by applicable law in cases involving personal injury) exceed the amount of two hundred and fifty dollars (U.S.$250.00). The foregoing limitations will apply even if the above stated remedy fails of its essential purpose.

250 USD is what Apple is willing to pay you if its found liable for its failures (after it takes every possible legal recourse to avoid that outcome). companies that stand behind the quality of their products and their dedication to their customers don’t need to make statements like this one.

trustworthy companies don’t behave this way.

we need to establish a new relationship model between big, powerful companies and their customers.

9. Digital Certificates.

The iOS Software contains functionality that allows it to accept digital certificates either issued from Apple or from third parties. YOU ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR DECIDING WHETHER OR NOT TO RELY ON A CERTIFICATE WHETHER ISSUED BY APPLE OR A THIRD PARTY. YOUR USE OF DIGITAL CERTIFICATES IS AT YOUR SOLE RISK. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, APPLE MAKES NO WARRANTIES OR REPRESENTATIONS, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, AS TO MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR ANY PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, SECURITY, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT OF THIRD PARTY RIGHTS WITH RESPECT TO DIGITAL CERTIFICATES.

apart from the unreliability of digital certificates, Apple is saying that it’s up to you to determine whether a certificate is trustworthy. if you don’t know what digital certificates are, that’s exactly why Apple’s statement is so troubling.

we need an internet with rock solid identification and authentication infrastructure, policies, and procedures. current infrastructure, policies, and procedures are woefully inadequate for providing secure and reliable identification and authentication services for entities of all types.

summary

these are my takeaways from analyzing the iOS 12.0.1 software license agreement:

the operating-system update process for an iPhone device on a Mac is very inefficient. iTunes should be more useful to people by presenting recommended content directly instead of directing them to look for a search page and scan the search results for the right document.

Apple makes you read a 7,000–word contract every time you update the operating system on your device.

to avoid high cellular-service bills in certain situations, you should turn off features like Wi-Fi Assist on your iPhone devices.

we should have infallible ways of connecting with people and stop using phone numbers and email addresses as personal identifiers because bad actors use them to profit or to access data illegally.

Apple says that it can “disable access to any Services at any time without notice.” trustworthy companies provide the services they promise to their customers without fail or provide reasons for failures and disconnections.

Apple hides behind mean license agreements to protect itself against the consequences of defects in its products. trustworthy companies, however, develop and offer their customers reliable products that don’t fail.

Apple says that you’re responsible for the costs of fixing defects in the products you buy from it. your jurisdiction may differ with this statement, check with a lawyer.

Apple says that it’s up to you to determine the validity of certificates entity send you to prove their identity. a safe internet would provide better ways for entities to identify themselves to you. digital certificates are not safe.

a/n: psa I have done surprisingly little planning for this fic beyond the synopsis and basic plot-point interactions and ending so if you have some specific fluffy (or non winky face ((JUST KiDDING ⁱˢᴴʰ))) moments in mind for future chapters, my inbox is SO open and welcome also this will pick up pace after this chapter I promise, I just really needed to set up enough emotional stuff to make ur eyes wet later. ok das all read it n sheep.

Chapter Three: Draw the Oceans

Chloe stopped in her tracks and stepped backwards at the sight of such distress on the girl’s face.

“Oh my God, I’m totally invading your privacy! I’m so sorry, I’ll leave you alone.” The girl had stopped as well and after a second of Chloe standing back with her hand over her mouth she reached forward and touched her back gently. Hoping she could add at least a small amount of positive energy into the situation, she quickly added “...Although, um, don’t take this the wrong way, but I can also stay with you if you just need to vent to someone who isn’t gonna judge you and who you’ll probably never see again- if thats what you need. Just let me know okay? It’s kind of my thing to go out of my way to make people feel better.” She smiled and made the kind of eye contact that she hoped would give off the most telepathically generous vibes.

The girl stared at Chloe, taken aback but still in consideration. A small split in the cover overhead had opened up briefly to illuminate the pair of them and Chloe saw her face for the first time. Her lips were sucked in and her eyes spilled shimmering streams down her cheeks . “I’m fine. Really. Thank you. I um...It’s...it’s complicated. It’s Really complicated.” Her voice broke on the word ‘really’ and her quaking hands passed to her face to rub at her eyes. Chloe begrudgingly let her do this contrary to her instincts of taking the girl’s wrists away and hugging her- she didn’t want to violate this stranger’s privacy more than she already had. She waited patiently for the girl to think about the situation while she kept her hand on her shoulder to stabilize her.

Beca’s stomach churned and she chewed her lip as she weighed her options. The three best responses that sprung to mind were not the most reliable ideas she’d ever had, but they would be better in the long run than simply to lay on the ground and give in to a breakdown. Firstly, she could reject Chloe’s help and give no explanation for her current state, but ask her to keep walking with her ‘for comfort’ to hopefully form some kind of closer connection which she would use later to see her again. Secondly, she could, as fast as possible, concoct a story similar to the truth but somehow without mentioning the factors of reincarnation, the confirmation of some kind of legitimate higher power’s existence (or at least a medium power), that Chloe was supposed to die almost two years ago, and the matter that Beca was a fucking guardian angel. Or thirdly she could just tell Chloe the truth. The last one was, she admitted, both the worst idea and the most tempting one. No. She doesn’t know you, remember, she’s going to think you're high or something. (her brain did feel very unprepared for this sudden mental gymnastics, she thought.) Her heart physically ached with want to hold Chloe tightly and sob into her shoulder about how she thought she’d never see her again and how exhausted and lonely she felt. She sighed heavily and tried her best to smile without letting her emotions contort her face (harder than she expected) and prepared herself to express the second biggest lie she had ever told to her best friend.

“Thank you. I really appreciate that. Let’s keep walking...um, I’ll try not to bore you too much.”

“No, no, please! Onward!”

Beca frowned as the comforting warmth in her shoulder from Chloe’s hand left her shoulder blade.

“Well...basically, a few years ago I had this friend. We...cared about each other a lot. We’d been really close since high school and we’d gone through some really tough shit together. She was there for me and I did my best to do the same. We were kinda like each other’s moms in a sense.” Beca chuckled softly. “Then about a year and a half ago...she...my friend was in an accident. She was hit on the highway by a drunk driver and she wasn’t found till a few hours after. When she was, they did their best but...um...she didn’t make it.” Beca paused, to both protect herself from crying again and also to stall for a second to think about what could possibly replace the concept of swapping places with the dying girl you love and returning to earth a guardian angel.

“I was um...My mental health plummeted and I was in a really bad place for a very long time...I developed a bad drug and alcohol problem. I did some horrid, inexcusable things to a lot of people I cared very deeply for, which left me basically without my friends and family...But starting two months ago, I decided to get better for her. I’ve been sober for um...a few months. I was in rehab in Massachusetts up until a few days ago and I came back to New York for the first time in over a year today...honestly, I don’t know why. Closure? A message from her?! Maybe I needed to see you- her. Sorry, I’m just really disoriented. This is the first time I’ve been in the neighborhood where we used to live since...” Her tears were back, this time as equally fake as they were real. “I reached out to a few friends but no one will talk to me. I’m just filled with so much remorse. Like, immeasurable guilt. You have no idea. Fuck, I don’t even have a place to stay, I’ve only been here a few hours.” She hunched her back and hid her face in her hands taking deep shaky breaths. She did pride herself on her woven web, however, especially the bit about her friends.

Chloe had been quiet and patient with Beca through her whole story and finally when Beca had made it clear she had finished Chloe placed her hand on her shoulder again. She then spoke such soft and warm words that made Beca’s stomach tighten even further with emotion and nerves.

“Wow. I am so sorry. You’ve gone through so much, I really appreciate you sharing your story with me. You are such a strong human being and...I really admire how far you’ve come after everything you went through. Can I...Do you want a hug? I don’t want to invade your personal space.” Chloe’s voice grew somehow even kinder as she said those last few words and Beca nodded, not wanting to seem too eager.

Chloe enveloped Beca in her arms and tightly held her to her chest as Beca’s sobs became involuntary and incessant. She had not felt so many emotions at once since...well, since as long as she could remember. Her knees were week and she almost clung to Chloe to stay upright. Chloe rubbed slow circles on her back and murmured comforting words to her.

“Shh. It’s okay, everything’s gonna be fine. You’re okay.”

Her familiar soft and sweet scent was painful with lost memories and Beca fit just so in Chloe’s arms as if Chloe had retained the experience of hugging her even through Chloe’s memory-obliteration.

Finally after three or four minutes, Beca’s sobs became sniffs and she staggered gingerly away from her, afraid of making Chloe uncomfortable.

Chloe had such a curiously strong impulse to take this stranger in and help her restart her life and make amends with her friends. She knew how potentially dangerous it would be to let someone she had only spoken to for about fifteen minutes into her home but the girl’s story was pretty believable and she had a lot of spare time. The nearest police station was less than a four minute walk away from her home and she was confident that she was safe and unafraid to call if anything happened. She was surprised at herself for how much pity she harbored for this girl, but for some reason her tale struck an empathetic chord that Chloe had not heard before and was unaware had even existed. As their embrace broke, her impulsive thoughts got the better of her and she acted quickly as to not change her mind or overthink.

“Okay, you know what, hear me through. How would you feel if you came back to my house and you can sleep on my couch for the night? I have to stay up anyways. I can drive you in to the city on my way to work tomorrow and you can look at places to stay or job ops, if thats what you need. I have a friend at a café that could use an extra hand! Do you have anyone in New York you can talk to or trust?”

Even though it was still dark out, Chloe could tell the girl was stunned by her sudden advance.

“I...uh...thank you, that’s really generous of you. I...guess? Wow, I feel like such a creep right now, I promise I’m telling the truth. If that’s really okay with you, I would so appreciate the help. Also, no I don’t think so. I mean, there might be someone, but I’m gonna need a couple days to figure out how to even get in touch with her.” She combed her hands through her knotted hair in a fluster.

“Yeah dude of course! Here, come with me. Do you have any bags or anything?”

“Um, no. Most of my stuff is in a storage unit in town. I didn’t really bring anything with me when I left. Thank you so much, I don't think I’ll ever be able to repay you.” Chloe found that odd and questions of how the girl had even come from New York without possessions filled her mind but she pushed them aside.

Half an hour later of Chloe walking the weak girl back to her house in a comfortable silence (Chloe wanted to overwhelm her as little as possible with questions or conversation in her fragile state), they came through the door and she went to the tap to get the girl some water. When she checked the little yellow clock above her sink she was surprised to see that she’d been out for almost two hours and it was nearly 1:00 in the morning. The lights were dim coming from her living room but just bright enough for her to finally see what the girl looked like as she handed her the glass. She was small and frail with long, mousy brown hair and deep set blue eyes that were again cascading tears down pale blanched cheeks. Her minimal tank top and sweatpants were a little grassy but otherwise free of stain or dirt, Chloe supposed she had sat or perhaps lain in the field earlier. When she looked down, Chloe realized the girl’s feet were bare and bruised but said nothing.

“Drink all of that. The bathroom and shower is just through that door behind you. I’m going to run upstairs get you some spare clothes, and sheets for the couch, will you be alright down here?” The girl gave a small nod as she chugged down the water with huge gulps.

Beca shut the bathroom door behind her and immediately slid to the floor, breathing rapidly with her hand over her mouth to stifle her sobs.

The house was exactly as she had left it. All her belongings were gone, but most everything else was the same. Same couch, same photographs covering the stairwell, the same colored walls. Even the odd yellow clock Aubrey had bought them as a housewarming gift was still in the kitchen. She managed to push herself upright and turned on the faucet to the temperature she had grown so familiar using. She leant over the sink and forced herself to breathe evenly as steam rose to the ceiling and filled her lungs.

She was here though and everything was going to smoothly. Everything that she had planned (or rather hoped without depth or consideration) was happening! She was home with Chloe and Chloe was taking care of her! She felt the corners of her mouth twitch as her thoughts grew more hopeful.

An instantly recognizable sensation reached her fingertips and she was no-longer concentrating on her good fortune. Her palms grew hot and it quickly spread to her wrists. Shit.

Her hands were glowing bright white and her veins were accentuated by visible electric currents racing down her arms under her skin. This isn’t supposed to happen, you’re not supposed to glow on earth, it’s literally impossible. Her heart beat faster. This was a regular behavior in the Higher City. It was completely random with no rhyme or reason and it was also another phenomenon that the head-angels refused to digress. But they had strictly told everyone that it wasn’t supposed to happen after they had left to earth. It’s gotta be a glitch or a kink in the system when I changed my fucking assignment. You bitch! Beca Mitchel, you have fucked up so royally. The light had spread down almost the entire length of her arms and she felt her knees grow hot as it climbed up her legs as well. She threw off her clothes and rushed to the shower, desperate that the water could somehow stifle the course of electricity running through her bloodstream. It did nothing but scald her skin and she yelped in shock.

five or six seconds later a knock came to the door which startled Beca to jump.

“Everything okay in there?”

“Yeah, um, I turned it too hot haha,” She laughed nervously.

“Okay, I’ll leave these clothes by the door. There’s fresh towels under the sink.”

“Great, thank you!” She groaned quietly in frustration, but when she looked back down to her hands, they were back to her own pale skin. She sighed heavily in relief. Usually it lasted longer; around five to ten minutes, but she guessed because it was only a glitch it would affect her to a much lesser extent.

Twenty minutes later she sat on her made-up bed in Chloe’s pajamas waiting for Chloe to bring her tea she hadn’t asked for. She had been considering maybe telling Chloe the truth after all. The level of gullibility involved with people she cared about was something that the two of them had been working to correct before everything was shoved at them left and right. Beca had begun to worry that one day in the future she would not be immediately accessible to force Chloe to see every angle of the situation and to hold herself over others when the circumstances required. A significantly large piece of Beca’s mind suggested that Chloe would swallow the whole story with complete belief and acceptance. However Beca had not seen her in so long and she had romanticized their friendship so laboriously during their time apart. There was a chance that the more stripped down version of Chloe that Beca remembered was not as surface-level innocent and credulous as was reality. There was too much of a risk that Beca’s tale would turn her out onto the streets and she would definitely never see Chloe again after that. She was woken from her musings by a warm mug of lavender-smelling steam being gently placed between her palms.

“Here you are! It’s hot, careful. So, I’m leaving around 8:00 tomorrow and I’ll drop you off wherever you need to be?”

“Um, yeah that would be great. Thank you so much for all of this. You have no idea how much it means to me.” No really, she had No. Idea.

“Yeah, no worries! I totally got your back! Um, I’ll just be right here in the kitchen finishing up some work. If you need anything just holler.” Chloe patted Bec’s leg affectionately and stood, still facing Beca. Her eyes suddenly somehow grew wider than her already enormous size and she exclaimed. “Wait, oh my God! I’m such an awful person! I don’t even know your name! And you don’t know mine! What the hell is your name, dude?” Beca laughed and looked down sheepishly.

“It’s Beca. Mitchel.”

“Well, nice to meet you Beca, my name is Chloe. I think we’re gonna be really fast friends.”

hah i wish i had more space. i do have a few things happenin’ right now though-- gonna work on a couple needlefelts and also a needlefelt of my fur/feather-sona? which i want to do Really Good Wings for, which requires some research and so on. but those aren’t super great for quick jaunts between drying paint.

also i’m vaguely afraid that my current energy bubble will burst and i’ll just be left with more unfinished projects BUT i work on telling myself that it’s for fun anyway so who the fuck cares if i have unfinished projects (aside from myself, having to hold onto projects i’ve already spent hours and dollars on and therefore keep around because i can’t bear to throw them out)

but man i haven’t had this much creative energy in... years? i keep remembering projects on my backburner and having to tell myself “well, katherine, you could do that but you have other things you want to work on right now and you can do that later.” plus new ideas and inspirations competing, though those are a bit rarer since idea creation is a bit like a muscle.

in the past week or so, ideas i’ve recalled/come up with that i’ve wanted to start/restart, many of which i haven’t thought about in years:

I’ve had more creative, constructive, and social impulses in the past seven days than I’ve had in the PAST SEVEN MONTHS

this is how my LIFE USED TO BE LIKE!!! i wanna keep it this way!!!!!!!!

The other thing is right now I’m in a good spot of balancing these impulses with my rational, don’t-spend-too-much-money side; I can’t tell for certain why but I know when I’m depressed I’ll be excited for projects that require a lot of new equipment and skills I’ve barely used previously. But in reality, what this means is I spend money and don’t do projects when I’m depressed. (That’s how I ended up with my big “I’ll make stickers!” plan that will probably never pan out, even if the profit margin can be stupid high. I didn’t realize that I a.] don’t draw things that lend themselves to stickers and b.] that an in-home inkjet press was going to create less durable stickers than you can get from, say, Redbubble. And I spent like 500 bucks on a printer and a papercutter for that... though I do plan on using the papercutter anyway for unrelated projects and the printer was a purchase I wanted to make anyway.)

The realistic thing to do is to work on projects with what I have or small test kits, and then upgrade more as I become more familiar and desire better tools for the work I’m already doing. A tablet does not a digital artist make, but it can certainly make a digital artist’s workflow much easier.

Anyway right now I am cautiously optimistic about life and h---FUCK I FORGOT TO RETURN THE CALL FROM THE PSYCH OFFICE AUGH.

i am putting a sticky note on my phone now. fuck

Hey guys! I am in need of a bit of help. Im not... Very happy doing this, but I dont have many other options. My laptop is dying, and I have been saving some money for a new one for a while, which have been difficult since my schedule doesnt allow me to have a job, and I have to spend money on art supplies constantly, so any little money I get, it goes on savings or on art supplies. Some months ago, I though, well, my laptop is gonna last until I have more money, I actually thought on waiting until getting enough money for a kind of fancy thing, but now I realise I dont have that much time. My laptop is suddenly shutting up, doesnt run properly light programs, and whats worse for me,it barely runs programs I need for art, aka SAI and PS. Programs I need for my career, and for fanart, are slow as fuck or I have to restart the programs repeatedly. Believe me, I can bear with a slow browser, with a Word that is always lagging, but im tearing up in frustration as I cant barely work. (As u see in that badly drawn coffee cup, more often than not I dont have sensibility from my tablet and thats purely the laptop) I’ve tried cleaning most of my files, leaving just essentials, and lots of other stuff, I mean, my laptop is 5, 6 years old? It has been through a lot, but by now it just have too many problems. So please, if you could buy me a coffee, even just one, it would be awesome. I do have money saved so I dont need that much and I would be forever grateful for any help!!! I just want to be able to keep working ): And if you cant directly help, it still means a lot to me if you can share!! And feel free to ask anything if you are curious or whatever, Thank you guys, this really means a lot to me.

Hackintosh Joy?

The world of Hackintosh is strange world full of pitfalls and traps and is not recommended for one to run blindly into. However it is one I decided to take upon recently.

Well I say blindly that is not true I did Hackintosh a machine several years ago with Snow Leopard, and before that I had attempted to run OS X 10.2 and using Pear PC from Prasys which was more like a Bochs kind of emulator rather than a Hackintosh.

So for those not in the know what a Hackintosh is… It is the process of getting a PC to run the Mac OS X operating systems. Rather than an actual Apple Mac machine. Is it illegal, yes as you are violating the terms of the licensing agreement of the MacOS which quite categorically states that the OS must be installed on Apple hardware.

So while I await for the letters of cease and desist from Apple and they send the lawyers after me (don’t think they will really). I will explain my fun and games I had to get things running.

First I need to inform you the PC I set this up on is a Dell Optiplex 780 (so definitely not an Apple). Which has an Intel Core 2 Duo 2.93 Ghz E6600 processor, A Nvidia GeForce GT710 1GB Graphics card, 8 GB DDR3 Ram, A USB Wi-Fi card, USB Bluetooth Adapter and onboard sound. The software was being installed on an external 1TB Toshiba hard drive connected via USB.

Ok so I had read that the best way to create a boot USB stick was to setup a Snow Leopard installation and then using that as base to then write the Mac OS X Sierra (which I chose to use as High Sierra was still in beta at the time) because it would support my Nvidia graphics card and others probably wouldn’t.

First make sure BIOS is set to use ACPI which it wasn’t. So sorted that and saved.

So I downloaded a boot.iso and burned it to CD. Dug out my Show Leopard DVD (Yes I have an actual DVD) and installed it to the PC. Normally you have to reformat your drive to set it to GPT but I for some reason had done that previously to the drive so I just had to clear the existing partitions and create a Mac HFS+ Journaled one. Luckily the SL installer disc had the Disc Utility app for this reason. After installation it reboots.

After install I had to keep the boot CD in as there was no readable boot loader for the PC yet on the external drive. So load boot CD, select new Mac drive and wait for it to load.

First you have to install the FakeSMC and NullCPUPowerManagement ones which make the OSX think it’s a genuine Mac and stops the CPU from being recognised. I had downloaded few tools such as Kext Helper and others on a USB stick separate from the one I wanted to write the Mac OS on.

Next you have to setup the sound so I used a kext called VoodooHDA which is probably the most used sound driver in the Hackintosh world. Now I had to install a bootloader that the PC would see. In this case I used Chameleon only because I had used it last time I setup my SL rig and it worked.

Ok time to rebuild all the extension caches etc so it will see the drivers. Reboot all magical and working. This is all going very well. Found a disc I had with the Wifi driver (I remember it took me ages to find the right one and had to download about five different versions until I found the one that worked) so I saved time trawling around the net again.

Installed it using Kext Helper etc…Reboot, setup Wifi and it works a treat…

So far, so darned good then huh? Magic, well as I said I had installed Snow Leopard on a previous machine so doing this one was pretty straightforward.

However for all it can see the Nvidia card it can’t use it as there is no driver for it. So limited to what SL can do and no games will run as it’s using a VESA driver. Most games need Quartz Extreme which allows the usage of Open GL.

So I attempt to get OS X Sierra but for some reason although I have upgraded the system to 10.6.8 and the App Store app is installed by Software Update. Which was fun as after the Combo update you have to reinstall half of the kexts as it has updated several which you don’t want it to.

I could sit and list step by step how you do it but to be honest unless you are doing this, why bother also there are loads of guides which tell you how to do this if you do a minor Google search. Lets just say I did it and the App Store would not connect and I could not sign in using my Apple account ID for some unknown reason so I could not download OS X Sierra direct from the App Store as all the guides instructed.

Hmmm… things are going a bit wonky…

Ok off to the Internet… Various distributions exist although most of the OSX86 websites will admit it, try to get people to avoid them. You can get ones made for a price and ones that are free. I was genuinely going to try and get it from the Apple App Store but it wouldn’t let me in.

So after a scout about I download the Sierra Hackintosh Zone distro from Niresh (I will not include links but it’s not exactly hard to find). There are others out there but this is the one I went for.

Apparently you put it in a directory on the Hackintosh and run the Restore Sierra app that you also have to download from them. Try this and sod all happens.

Other way is to go back to Windows and use a program called TransMac which is what I did. Transmac is not freeware but you can trial it 15 days so all good. To buy it’s about $60. I’m in the UK so probably about £45 for a tool I may never use again we shall see.

So I managed to write the Sierra Setup USB drive without using the Snow Leopard setup, so installing it and setting up drivers for it was a complete waste of time. Fun, nostalgic but ultimately useless.

Now as it’s a distro most of the kexts are built into the setup installer and all you have to do is customise it to use the ones it has. You can update them later yourself.

So I set it off installing after erasing the now redundant SL from the partition. I set it to boot using the Clover Bootloader as I heard it makes upgrading to things such as High Sierra much easier.

Installs fine and boot is set by the installer so all good. Now the fun begins. I have got to install a few drivers such as Wifi and Graphics. Sound drivers (later version of VoodooHDA) were in the distro setup so that’s ok, don’t have set them up.

Right first I attempt to install the graphics driver. I have it on the flash drive used earlier. Insert it and first problem arises. It does not come up on the desktop. SL it had come up fine not in Sierra. I check the System Information and yes it can see it, but is not mounting it.

Right not a great start. Especially as both drivers are on that flash drive.

Back to Windows… Transmac the drivers across to the Sierra drive. This program is proving more useful than I thought. Right restart into Sierra and install drivers.

Graphics Driver installs fine its a PKG (Mac equivalent of an MSI file)file so after asking for my password it installer using the standard Apple Installer app.

However the Wifi driver is a kext (also its from Mavericks so not sure it will even work) so luckily this distro has already installed a tool called Kext Wizard (the Sierra equivalent of Kext Helper used with SL). Install kext and reinstall caches etc. time to reboot to see if this works.

System starts but when it gets to the part where you login it now just turns off the monitor to you can’t go any further. Oh not good.

Now if Snow Leopard had an issue like that I could use the boot CD to get back in with this one I can’t it seems.

Ok rerun setup, erase hard drive, reinstall OS and start again. Back to where I was before I installed the two previous drivers. Thinking it was the Nvidia driver after it was the screen. I thought fine I will install the Wifi driver then I can see if I can find an updated Nvidia driver online once the setup is done. So install kext etc… Reboot

Once again it locks up at screen to login by disabling video. Oh ok then must be the Wifi kext thats the issue well it is supposed to be for Mavericks so obviously it is throwing things although it is rumoured to work. Time to reinstall again.

This time I retried the Nvidia driver which worked but when ever I restarted it defaulted back to not using it. Ok Clover Configurator you turn it on using a switch. Just mount the EFI and change a few settings in the plist file.

Well Configurator won’t mount the EFI no matter how much you try. So it won’t set the switch. Also every time I reboot my PC it is destroying the BIOS setup and I have to reset it which is becoming annoying.

Ok so not working well. I discover the BIOS issue is because the Real Time clock or RTC as better known is throwing out the bios settings.

Drop to Windows, download RTC fix for 10.12, Transmac to Sierra drive and restart. Turns out its a kext. Install kext, rebuild caches etc… Reboot, locked out of video driver again. Why? this was supposed to be for this version.

Turns out that MacOS Sierra has a system to prevent tampering with system files called SIP (System Integrity Protection) stopping me from installing kexts. I can turn it off using Clover (remember the configurator tool does not work, so no I can’t). Getting frustrated at this point and close down for the night. Feeling annoyed and beaten by the Hackintosh.

Ok reinstall for what feels like the millionth time but this time I check to see if there is a Chameleon option rather than Clover. Yes there is known as the Chameleon Enoch bootloader.

Start up so install Nvidia driver. Set up switch using Chameleon Wizard and sure enough it works first time. Ok so now I try RTC kext using Kext Wizard, you know the drill by now… restart but this time it works it lets me back in and the driver has installed. Install prefpane(basically a control panel setting screen) and setup Wifi… it works.

Ok Install RTC driver, upgrade VoodooHDA to latest version. Try to get software App Store, sign in won’t work. Test signing in with iTunes works fine. Time to go internet reading.

Find out this is common. Apparently you need to remove the drivers under network and its configuration plist and Reboot, then next time it should reset the Ethernet driver to En0 and all should work. Handy as I need to reboot for the kexts to be loaded.

RTC patch works as I don’t have reset my BIOS. Thanks for that small mercy. Sound is working still after update. Right try App Store still no joy. I decide to forgo the App Store and just download apps the normal way which seems to work.

Now the sound has this buzzing going on every time it loads. It works just has this constant buzz. I discover I have missed installing the prefpane. Ok so I do now I discover it is using a setting called Speaker which is never used as far as I have ascertained. By muting it the buzzing stops, however sound in the rest of OS is fine. However when I restart the setting does not save and the buzzing is back.

My own fault as a few pages on in the thread where I got the prefpane, it supplies you an app to put in startup which keeps the settings. Which once installed and set to load automatically has done it’s job like a trooper.

So now install a few things such as Steam and test games such as Terraria, Starbound and Batman Arkham Asylum GOTY edition to challenge the driver. All work perfectly fine.

Installed MacJournal and Writeroom which I own from Macheist Nanobundles and I upgraded Writeroom 2 to 3 and bought the new license when I had a G5 a while ago. In fact this whole report has been written using WriteRoom 3 on the Hackintosh.

So that brings to today. I still have not solved the App Store issue but for now it is functional enough to do stuff on. Sod it… Eventually I might need the App Store but as of yet. Most stuff is downloadable from outside it still.

One day I might figure what is wrong… It might need something upgrading or resetting to access the App Store but I am damned if I know what it is.

Installed Audacity and connected my Blue Snowball mic via USB. It found it and it works. also now the USB drives will detect and display. It seems Chameleon does not cause the issues that Clover did.

I am sure people will complain that Clover is the superior product, and in many ways it probably is, but if it does not work very well then I will kick it to the kerb. Faster than anything for a thing I know and have proved to work.

Maybe the latest version of Clover has fixed many of these issues but I don’t care. In time I may consider trying to move to High Sierra and once again the claim is it’s easier with Clover. Well that will have to wait and see.

As for TransMac it seems a useful tool would I invest in it. If I was going to use a Hackintosh regularly then why not it seems quite useful.

Someone who has done the Clover setup which works are probably wanting to beat me up for being stupid. Well you are probably right but I don’t care. They can also sort out the App store issue too. Good for you have a Gold star.

For now it works ok, while not perfect so I leave it at that… Nanoo Nanoo!
