*crawls out from the fiery depths of writer's block* I PUBLISHED FIC AGAIN
Whenever I have really bad writer's block, I use a word randomizer to choose three prompt words to work with. Lately, I've been working on a bunch of these oneshots, and I just finished the first one!
It's Wilsons angst! What else is new :) Lincoln and Casey talk about (or, rather, do everything to avoid talking about) familial tension and grief. This probably appeals to nobody but me but ENJOY! :D
PS: I am working on some other oneshots in this "series" of random prompts (they're not interconnected in any way), but I'm also working on my ongoing series! I pinky promise. I just want to make sure they are good, and I haven't been totally loving my writing lately, so I'm doing some shorter exercises like this to help me get back into the swing of things. It's going well so far! ^_^

I would have to follow it up#with like ''HOPEFULLY you can come over to my house in a few months'' or 'They'll come over in a few months MOST LIKELY''. Because just#stating that something will happen matter of factly takes for granted like.. what if somehting horrible happens and I DONT have a house#in a few months? or what if something bad happens to me. or to the person coming over? I can't ever DEFINITELY say with 100% certainty#that one could ACTUALLY come to my house in a few months. anything could change. So I have to allot for that in my phrasing. hbjjkn#There are a lot of situations where you're expected to just Assume Things but for some reason that bothers me. My brain literally does not#even Assume the most basic things.. like how do *I* know that just because it's someones birthday that they want to be wished a happy#birthday? what if they dont? everyone is different and has different preferences. I should check with them first. or wait until they public#ly announce that theyre accepting birthday wishes. I have to allot for all 5034859069 rare possibilities at any given time and never take#anything for certain. etc. ghjbjhbh.... ANYWAY.. I have been feeling a bit sick lately as usual.. but still slowly making progress on some#things. Moslty I need to edit costume photos. make sculptures. and work on the game. #im posting this very late because i was sort of weary of how it came out and ended up messing w it until it was like 4am oops.#and i have plans tmrw so... oh well! i did my best and ill put it out while i can!#and i tried to make the scene match barnard's colors lol#finn's ocs#finn's art#i know i said id do more sillay stuff with the simpler screentone only style but i had a couple more of these in me#and this is the first piece im making thats like an actual part of the story too rather than just setting stuff for fun#i wanna write something to go with it too but for now ill just sort of briefly explain the context in the tags here:#barnard has a pretty bad case of OCD and his compulsions have made it difficult to make friends in the past#he was never outright bullied or anything but people just didnt really have the patience to deal with it#he has compulsions that include stuff like walking through doors until it feels right and needing things to be perfectly aligned#which in group settings has lead to people having to wait for him to finish his rituals and join them#they might find it tolerable at first but eventually they grow impatient and hes just... not invited to stuff anymore#but juno is a newer member of the guild who ends up frequenting the same library. hes also kinda a little weird#and they dont become fast friends or anything but just sort of naturally spend time in the same place#though they never plan meetups they eventually fall into a routine. around the same time theyd just both be at the library#and read next to each other. and maybe talk a bit. and eventually they end up walking back to the guildhall together#since theyre going to the same place after all. and juno always waits for barnard outside the door#eventually barnard asks if this bothers him. juno kinda just tells him 'of course it does' without any malice or anything. just a statement#barnard is surprised and apologizes and juno says not to. but the next day juno doesnt show up at the usual time.#barnard assumes hes committed somekinda more by bringing it up. he ends up staying there late reading to get his mind off it & not ruminate#but when he leaves juno is in fact still waiting for him down the hall (see pic) having collected a bunch of books literally abt ocd#he fell asleep bc barnard stayed later than expected. and hes an eepy guy generally. and also one very bad at expressing himself#but now barnard gets that juno's 'of course it [bothers me]' had the implication of 'but its worth it' which no friend has previously done.#and from the interaction juno was also able to understand that this isn't something barnard just does for the hell of it so. he studies.#and checks a bunch of stuff out because he thinks it could help his friend too (theres ocd workbooks and such- i remember working w them)#and thats the point where they became more ''friends'' than ''pleasant library acquaintances''#from there on they also do get into juno's problems. whole other bag of worms. but this specific scene is more about bernard from his pov#sorry about when i said briefly explain. i lied </3#but compared to the whole sequence im picturing its brief so shhh

I've got too many games I want to play and not enough free time 😭 I still need to finish my BG3 playthrough but since Endless Ocean: Luminous came out I've been playing a lot of that instead. Also just got back into Wizard101 last night. Started playing House Flipper again last weekend. Still need to finish BOTW so I can start a TOTK playthrough and finish Pokemon Shield so I can start on Pokemon Violet. I've been fighting off the urge to start up a new Skyrim playthrough for weeks. My brother just told me that Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door is getting ported to the Switch. And now I'm suddenly feeling inspired to replay DAI... And throughout all of this I'm also playing the hell out of DragonVale on my phone. Someone just pay me to play video games all day please
#and before anyone suggests it: no i cant try to get into streaming#the way i play video games is extremely frustrating for other people to watch ahdjsksl#no one is going to give me money for producing a video where i spend two hours checking every barrel in the map while juggling my inventory#and then immediately give up on a puzzle and just sit in silence for 30 minutes while i look up a walkthrough instead#i need a situation that pays me $200 a day just to be autistic at the screen alone in the comfort of my own home#rambling#a few years ago i made it a mission to play all of the dragon age games and dlcs in order and i did not complete it#i got all the way to inquisition before i quit#i had already played it on ps3 but i wanted to replay on my new gaming laptop and unfortunately my computer decided it was too complicated#and also i just wanted to play as an elf again and i was resisting that urge bc i played as an elf the first time and wanted something new#so i didnt connect to my character as much#BUT ive learned a lot about optimizing my games from getting bg3 to run on my computer#so i think i could get it to handle dai now. especially if i upgrade to ssd like ive been wanting#and i just saw a dai post on my dash that made me daydream about possible characters and i was struck with inspiration#when i first played through on ps3 i didnt know anything about da lore. it was my first dragon age game#i was just doing whatever i thought seemed coolest#so i basically modeled my inquisitor after my dnd oc and then just picked a vallaslin i thought was pretty#and then when it came time to pick a specialization i was just like 'i mean my hand has rift magic right? seems obvious enough'#but now i know the LORE. and the dalish really interest me. and i want to make an inquisitor thats their own character#i didnt want to replay another elf mage bc i thought it would be too similar#but at the same time i wanted to re-experience dai (and experience trespasser for the first time) now that i knew more about the dalish#(with mods that fix the annoying bits where your character seems to not know about their own religion of course lol...)#i was thinking about that and i just got hit with some inspiration#instead of 'my dnd character but with a cool tattoo and rift magic and they kinda roll with the inquisitor stuff bc idk whats going on'#what if i made a more intentional character with a much different personality and their own backstory#theyre still the first of their clan but i know what that means now so theyre not really into the herald of andraste stuff#theyre a devotee of falon'din with his vallaslin and fittingly choose necromancy specialization (tho theyre annoyed by all the maker talk)#they can look cool and goth and maybe they even make some different choices about the well of sorrows 👀#i could keep rambling but im running out of tags gah#anyways ive got lots of ideas now and i think the playthrough would be unique enough to be worth it

throwing fandom characters into death road to canada is so funny.
i made some genshin characters a couple years back (kujou sara & diluc) as well as some of my lobcorp ocs (one of my flowerfield floors) and a pokemon oc (and a random oc of mine named daphne???) as well as homura. theres also my completely original dr2c oc named rebecca. Also slugcats from rain world.
last night, me and my roommate made the sinners + charon & vergilius + angela & roland
the most recent run (roommate is not an active player in this run):
me and roommate (hereon out going to be called pancake) started driving
we recruit gourmand
me, pancake, gourmand refuse monk, recruit rebecca (monk has bad traits & rebecca is actually really good)
i proceed to die to explosion in a gas station
ishmael shows up. we recruit her because yeah.
seige at a yallmart kills pancake, ishmael, and gourmand in that order
we're out of food a this point
hong lu shows up and he has the gun nut perk becuase i did not have any better perks for him LMAO
rebecca and hong lu are fighting because they are starving. rebecca kicks hong lu out and steals all his shit. roommate and i agree that hong lu might be able to survive by the zombies not realizing he has a brain.
rebecca robbed a resturant called Boiled Potatos for all of its food. car broke down. rebecca raided a tourist trap for food and a car. please be aware she is on 1 hp. i have no medical supplies.
rebecca finds rodya at a random camp and recruits her. rebecca then gets her dna zapped because why not. rodya has what i believe to be the worst perk (friend of dog) at this point [i love the dogs in this game, theyre really good, but this trait makes EVERY possible human a dog and i am playing familiar faces mode for a reason. i wish i could toggle perk stars tbh]
rodya and rebecca (aka I, the player) discover how busted guns are in a siege. i will remember this. hong lu may have saved the run.
the car breaks for a third time (not enough gasoline)
rodya suggests making moltovs which. feels in character tbh.
we recruit a doggo.
rodya tries to reason with a mob trying to kill the group but it doesnt go well and she gets hurt :(
we lose the car. again.
we find dog car. dogs are SO good when you need to go fast. they speedy :3
doggo and rebecca die trying to rescue some random guy. rodya was still at the car so she survives. random guy does some first aid. she is now soloing the road to canada. where is her bug husband and sad son.
we lose yet another car.
random dog shows up. i take the dog because at worst we get a supertrained dog and no rodya.
we find another car. is this a bad time to mention that irl idk how to drive and so its really funny how often i lose the cars in this game?
the dog gives up. rodya is alone again. girl please you have 1 day left. girl live for your maybe dead bug husband and your probably dead sad son.
diluc shows up at the final trader camp. this feels in character.
and the run ends to the seige right before the canadian border :( rip to rodya and diluc (i was built different [i was already dead])

i just finished iron blooded orphans and need to lay down for a bit

#hen party from hell today at work#my coworker who was taking their order did fuck up a few times im ngl (like she kept going back to check stuff etc altho she did get#it all correct once it was put through to the kitchen)#but like i KNOW our service overall wasnt that bad bc a table that arrived at the same time + similar size tipped us 20 eur and said#“everything was great”#but like !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the hen party !!! ohhhh my god .#17 people all trying to pay separately . i need my workplace to set up a policy of no splitting bill more than idk 5 times#anyway when there was about 5 ppl left my coworker was like “would you mind splitting the bill between you? it would make things simpler”#they said sure and paid#AND THEN THE BRIDE (?) CAME UP TO US AFTER AND OCMPLAINED#amongst other things she was like “halfway through paying you told us we couldnt pay separately and at the start u said we could”#GIRL MY COWORKER ASKED IF YOU COULD SPLIT IT BETWEEN YOUS. YOU COULDVE JUST SAID “NO WE WANT TO PAY SEPARATELY”#LIKE YOU HAVE THE POWER HERE#i just .. .. we told the manager after she complained and he was chill abt it lol#but then she SENT AN EMAIL. WITH PHYSICAL DESCRIPTIONS OF US#“the one w nose piercings the blonde the redhead etc” like jesus crhist. if i gave you a gun you would def shoot me without hesitation#anyway . im sooo. i just had a coffee so now im like intensified. and i have to do hashtag homework mmm yummy#long post#<- in case the long tags r a pain. i probably couldve made a separate post but i couldnt be bothered to be quite honest. anywya. <3#live laugh love guys <33
