I Dare You...
Pairing: Loki x female reader (Y/N) - established relationship
Summary: You and Loki are playing truth or dare and you think you found a dare he won't do.
A/N: Thanks @soubi001 for helping with the randomness of this one 💚 and to answer the question no one asked... no, this is not what I was supposed to be writing tonight 🫣
Loki sighs in defeat, "Very well."
"Wait, seriously?" you ask in disbelief. You were sure he wouldn't agree to this and you would finally win your hour long game of truth or dare.
"I told you, pet, I have no intentions of losing this game," he tells you with a mischievous grin.
"Fine... but you have to do it for ten seconds," you add a clause with your own calculating smile.
"Two," he counters quickly.
"Five," you cross your arms over your chest and sit back against the couch cushion.
"Two," he smiles as he leans closer to you.
"Seven," you roll your eyes and move your head slightly so he kisses your cheek instead of your lips as he intended.
"That's not how negotiations work," he chuckles and pulls back to look at you.
"Keep being annoying and I'll make it 30 seconds," you smile threateningly.
"I believe your lowest offer was five seconds," he says after a moment of silent consideration.
"Five," you nod your head in agreement.
"Brother," Loki calls for Thor's attention when he enters the common room, you wait in the hall where no one can see you.
"Loki, there you are," his older brother says cheerfully. "I thought you were seeing Y/N tonight."
"I am," Loki provides the shortest response possible and you try not to giggle, putting your hand over your mouth.
"Did you need something reindeer games?" Tony asks, annoyed that Loki interrupted their poker game.
Loki holds his hands behind his back and asks, "Thor, would you stand up for a moment?"
Thor looks at Loki then back at the other members of the team seated around the table. Tony shakes his head no adamantly while Steve and Clint shrug. Thor, being the ever trusting older brother, pushes his chair away from the table and stands to face Loki.
Before he can utter a sound, Loki pulls him into a tight hug.
"One Mississippi, two Mississippi-" you count quietly from your hidden spot just outside the doorway.
Thor's eyes go wide in shock and he doesn't move, his arms pinned to his sides with Loki's arms wrapped around him.
Tony reaches for his drink, his eyes fixed on the brothers and knocks the glass over, spilling it on his cards but no one notices.
Clint leans his chair back for a better view of the two Gods and Steve mumbles, "What the hell?"
"- Mississippi, five Mississippi," you giggle as Loki releases Thor and abruptly turns away.
"Loki, what-" Thor starts to ask but Loki leaves the room.
"I can't believe you actually did that," you tell him in shock.
"I do not like losing," he shrugs as you walk back towards your room together. "Plus, that will confuse all of them for weeks," he chuckles.
"Damnit, you're right," you sigh when you get to your room.
He smirks as he closes the door, "So darling, what will it be? Truth or dare?"
I hope you liked this!! Please like, share and comment if you did 💚💚 Please let me know if you want to be added to my taglist!

Imagine: Loki finding the Norse mythology book in your room and thinking you’ll be terrified of him now.
You set the book down on your bed, leaving it open at the spot you’d been reading, and walked out of your room, not bothering to close the door. You had no worries about anyone coming in.
Well, except for Thor. And that would only be because he forgot something of his on your desk after playing a game with you and Loki. (By playing I mean losing miserably)
Loki poked his head in the doorway. “Y/n?” When he didn’t see you he turned to leave but stopped, the brightly colored book on your bed catching his eye. He took one look at the contents and his stomach turned into a tight knot. You were the only one who didn’t judge him for his actions in New York. But now that you have read this? He would be shocked if you could even walk past him without cowering in fear.
Loki walked down the hall with his head hung low. He went into the kitchen and plopped down in a chair. He had been planning to tell you something that had been at the front of his mind for weeks now. He was going to tell you that he loved you but now? Now he was heartbroken and angry with himself. Why did he have to be so foolish all those years ago?
“Loki, you ok?” You asked, bringing him back from his thoughts.
Loki took one look at you and scooted his chair away, not wanting to frighten you. “I-I’m fine…” he said in a quiet voice, not meeting your gaze, trying to seem as unintimidating as possible.
You went to touch his shoulder when you saw, though he tried to hide it, a tear slipped down his cheek.
Your heart clenched at the sight and you gave his hand a gentle squeeze. “Are you sure you’re ok?”
Loki trembled before letting out a sob that he tried to suppress, his whole body moving as he did so. He then stood and silently walked out of the room, brushing away tears as he did so.
You waited a moment before going to his room and knocking on his door.
“I need to be alone right now,” came a muffled voice.
You frowned and walked away, wondering what was bothering him.
You re-entered the kitchen and decided to make a batch of cookies. You’d overheard Thor mention that Loki hadn’t gotten to try many Midgardian foods yet.
You settled on just a simple batch of chocolate chip cookies, nothing too extravagant.
Thor walked in as you began to put the ingredients in the mixer. “What ya doin’?”
You looked over at Thor with a slight frown. “Loki is in a bad mood, something upset him so I figured I’d make something for him, sweets always seem to make me feel better.”
Thor put an arm around you. “I’m glad Loki has you looking out for him.”
You smiled.
Thor ended up helping you with the cookies, occasionally sneaking chocolate chips along the way when he thought you weren’t looking.
“Thor Odinson! Put it down! Quit eating the ingredients or there won’t be any left to make cookies with!” You scolded, shaking your head and playfully waking his hand as you chuckled.
Loki decided to slip out of his room and head to the kitchen, he wanted to steal Thor’s leftovers from the Chinese restaurant. That’s when he saw you laughing as you held up a spoon to Thor's mouth. “Say ah.”
Thor ate whatever was on the spoon and smiled. “Perfect.”
Loki felt a new wave of tears and ran back to his room where he cried into his pillow. Did you love Thor?
-.-.-
When you finished with the cookies you put a few on a plate. “I’ll leave the rest for whoever wants it.” You said. “Don’t eat them all, Thor!”
You knocked on Loki’s door. No answer. You slowly opened it and found Loki asleep on his bed, his shirt had ridden up a bit revealing a few scars on his back. You quietly walked over set the cookies on his bedside table and scribbled a little note. You then covered him with an extra blanket since he’d fallen asleep on the comforter.
You were about to leave when Loki let out a sad whimper in his sleep. You frowned and hesitated before leaning down, brushing aside the hair that fell on his face, and placing a gentle kiss on his temple. “I love you Loki…” you whispered. “I wish I could say that to you when you were awake…”
You turned to see Thor standing in the doorway, phone in his hand. “I got it all on camera.”
“Thor!” You whisper yelled and ran after him. “Come back here!”
Loki roused from his sleep and placed his hand on his temple where you’d kissed him only a moment before. He looked over and saw the plate along with the note. He grabbed a cookie, biting it and he glanced at the note.
‘I’m always here if you need someone to talk to
-y/n
P.S. Thor helped make the cookies, I can’t take all the credit.’
Loki closed his eyes and slowly chewed, feeling a little better already, knowing both you and Thor went out of your way to make him feel better.
Then Thor walked passed with you swung over his shoulder. “Put me down!” You hissed. “Oh Loki you’re awake! Please save me!”
“No, she’s mine!” Thor yelled, running off.
“Loki help!”
Loki found himself smiling. If you were asking for help, maybe you didn’t fear him after all. “Thor unhand the fair maiden!” Loki shouted, setting down the half-eaten cookie and running after him, dagger in hand.
“Loki!”
Loki tackled Thor then decided to take the chance. He took you bridal style and walked away.
You smiled letting your head fall on his chest. “Thank you, Loki.” Loki found himself blushing at your words and took you to his room, setting you on the bed. He sat next to you, offering a lopsided smile.
That smile made your heart swell and you smiled back. “I’m here,” you whispered, squeezing his hand.
And just like that, a sliver of dread coiled on his stomach. His expression fell and he felt tears threatening to return.
Just as he was sure he’d break down in another wave, he felt something wrap around him. He looked down to see you holding him close. “I’m here, I’m willing to listen if you need it.”
Then, Loki’s phone buzzed. Loki put one arm around you and picked up his phone with the other. He clicked on the message from Thor, watching the video with the volume of. He watched with a straight face as you left the cookies. A small smile adorned his face when you put the blanket on him. Then shock when you kissed him. He looked down at you as you continued to stay with your arms wrapped around his middle.
Loki smiled. “Y/n…”
You looked up. “What is it?”
“You really aren’t afraid of me?”
“What?”
Loki frowned. “Y-that book you were reading… aren’t you… don’t I scare you?”
You sighed. “Is this what was upsetting you?”
Loki nodded, tears collecting in his eyes.
You put your arms around his neck. “Loki, the past doesn’t define who you are today…”
Loki smiled.
“Though I am curious as to how accurate that book is…”
He raised a brow.
“Are you really a giant?”
Loki’s face lost its color. “I-I…” he sighed. “Yes…”
You looked up at him, placing your hands on his cheeks. “C-can I see?”
Loki hesitated for a moment before allowing his skin to slowly change to blue and his eyes to turn red. He expected you to cower. But instead, you slowly traced the designs on his body, stopping at the collar of his button-up shirt.
Loki hesitated for a moment before slowly unbuttoning the shirt.
You stared at this muscular chest as your cheeks heated up before you traced the outline of his abs.
Loki blushed at the realization that you were admiring his body.
You looked up at him and smiled. “Why would I ever fear this?”
Loki felt tears prick his eyes once more. Not tears of sadness but of relief. You didn’t see him as a monster.
You put your arms around him before shivering. “L-Loki your c-cold as ice…” Loki frowned, noticing Thor in the doorway.
Thor smiled, winked, shoved an entire cookie in his mouth, and walked off.
Loki hesitated for a second before placing a kiss on the top of your head. “I love you…”
You looked up at him and smiled softly, pulling his blue head closer and placing your lips on his.
Loki turned back into his Asgardian form and you moaned from contentment, he was warm now.
Fifteen minutes later, you were asleep at Loki’s side. A smile on your face.
When you woke, you found Thor had posted a picture of you asleep on Loki’s chest in the avenger’s group chat with the caption. “Took these two long enough” underneath.
Loki fumed for a moment, sighed, and tossed the phone on the carpet. “I’ll get for that later but as for now…” he looked at you with a smirk before pulling you closer and placing his lips on yours. “For now I’m content…” he mumbled, holding you in his arms and closing his eyes.

I love you all immensely. Take care. 💖
Laufeyson returns with a second drink. You still have your first, nursing it as you find your head spinning with the activity all around. As more guests stream through, raucous as they meet others they know, the stage hums and the speakers crackle to life.
Bragi begins his set, a brief tidings for the event before he strums into a tune. You wiggle your foot to the beat, peering over at the full band behind the lead. It's all so big and bright.
You turn back, reaching for your glass, as Laufeyson draws from his own. He watches you over the brim, eyes traveling down your body, focusing on the movement of your foot. You still it and uncross your legs, setting your soles flat.
He puts his drink down, half-finished. You sit back and fold your hands in your lap, peering around evasively. He probably saw you slouching or was annoyed by your fidgeting. You blow out between your lips as the party blooms around you.
Voices thrum in ripples beneath the steady rhythms of the stage, hollers go up now and then, piquing your interest as you look over to see a group cluster. They stand around smaller tables framed by two chairs each. You can barely see those sitting at them moving small pieces around the board.
“Hnefatafl!” The cry goes up as Thor stands and the pieces scatter on the table before him. You quickly look away as his head pops up above his audience.
“An old game,” Laufeyson explains, “rather dry for an event like this.”
You raise your brows curiously. You’re almost tempted to ask him more but think better of it. He hardly seems interested. Distant thunks bring another roar from a crowd further down. You twist in your chair to see across the field large round boards set up. A man with blond hair hurls an axe towards the wood, embedding it. You flinch and face the table again.
“Chaos,” Laufeyson mutters.
“Yes,” you agree, your toe tapping on the grass until you stop it again.
You sink into a silence which exists only between you and him. The furor of the party crackles around you, circling you in a whirlwind. There in the eye of the storm, there is no sound. It is deafeningly hollow.
“Ahem,” the clearing of a throat and tap on your shoulder brings you around. Laufeyson looks over your head, fixing his posture as you face Odin, “hiding in the corner?”
“Not exactly, father,” Laufeyson says, once more taking up his drink.
“There is much to enjoy. Your mother’s put in so much effort, I’d for her to see you glowering like this,” Odin reproaches.
“I do not glower,” his son snips.
“Mm, yes, well, you are more than welcome to wallow alone,” Odin replies flippantly, “but you needn’t cast a cloud over others…” he shifts to face you, opening a hand to you, “might I be so humbled as to request a dance from the lovely lady?”
You look up at him and your mouth falls open, “dance? I don’t know… how.”
“Well, then it is a good thing I must take it slow,” Odin insists, “it isn’t so hard to learn.”
Laufeyson sighs and drains the last of his whiskey. He stands abruptly, “I need to top up.”
Odin eyes him tensely but doesn’t remark. He looks back to you, “you don’t need to sit in his shadow all night. One dance, fair maiden of Walpurgisnacht, I see you can barely contain yourself.”
You look down as his gaze falls to your foot, once more wiggling. You still it and accept his hand. You hope Laufeyson isn’t too upset. It is only his father after all, he can’t be too put out.
“Thank you,” you stand and let him lead you away.
Odin brings you amid the other dancers, on a flat white floor laid out over the grass. He guides you to face him and helps you place your hands before he hooks an arm around you. He’s gentle but firm in leading you, counting with the rhythm between directing you how to move your feet.
“That’s it, dear, you’re a natural,” he praises as you let the music guide you, “and a beauty. That dress is very becoming, though it pales on you. You look immaculate…” he continues to sway with you, “my son is a fool not to say it himself.”
“Odin,” you look past him sheepishly.
“It is the truth. You are glowing and he is playing the troll, secreting you away from the light,” he tuts and shakes his head.
“It isn’t my party,” you utter.
“You belong here,” he insists, “don’t you think otherwise.”
“I am the house manager–” you rebuff.
“You aren’t,” he says, “my son didn’t get his senselessness from me. No, that is bred of mistrust. Fear, truly.”
“Odin, it’s true–”
“If he says it, it cannot be,” he counters, “when he looks at you, he is not looking at a house manager. He will claim I do not know him but he is my son. I see through him, it is only a pity he looks in the mirror and cannot do the same.”
You stare at the button of his vest. You don’t believe him. You don’t want to. You’re too afraid to think it could ever be true. Yet how can you tell him the truth? That would be humiliating. You are only half-right, your son wants more of me but only to sate his worst urges. It isn’t sentiment, it is convenience.
“Pardon,” a voice has you tripping over your own feet but Odin keeps you balanced, turning you as another figure stands close, “father, may I… take over?”
“Ah, but we are having such fun,” Odin taunts and twists you away from Laufeyson again.
“Yes, it seems so,” Laufeyson says thickly, “perhaps the next song…”
“Oh, don’t be so mopey,” Odin stops you as he chuckles, “I was only trying to pep you up, yes? It’s a party.” Odin raises your hand and kisses it gently, “thank you, dear, for humouring an old man.”
He stands straight and lets you go. He faces his son but you cannot see his expression, only the way Laufeyson’s eyes gleam back dangerously. Odin departs and Laufeyson’s attention flits onto you. He takes a step forward, once more looking you up and down.
The music ebbs and a new song begins. The soft plucking begins, then the reedy tone of a flute. Mr. Laufeyson offers his hand and you accept it, awkwardly coming closer as he sweeps his arm around you, his hand stretched over your lower back. He looks down to place his feet with yours before he begins. He is lithe and graceful, you feel otherwise.
“This is your song,” he says as the melody comes clearer.
You tweak an ear as you follow it, then lyrics begin.
“Moon River, wider than a mile…”
Your heart pulses in recognition. You smile towards the stage. You didn’t expect him to truly do it but it’s wonderful.
“I like it,” Laufeyson says, “it is very… whimsical.”
You turn your head straight, focusing on your footwork, careful not to trod his feet, “it is.”
He’s silent as you feel his gaze upon you, bearing down. He must be annoyed by how you follow his lead, uncertain in your body. How pathetic; never had a birthday cake, never had a dance. You look up and gulp shakily.
You almost stop dead in your heels as you see something less than agitated in his expression. He is fixated on you without a trace of chagrin. His hand shifts on your back, his other on your hip as you hold his shoulder and his upper arm. He is handsome in the dimming approach of the evening.
“When I said before that you look nice,” he begins, “I was remiss. You look… beyond anything I could ever put into words. You are magnificent, pet.”
“Mr. Laufeyson,” you stutter, “well, you look very handsome as well.”
“I am not looking for compliments,” he dismisses, “and I think I owe you more than that.”
You don’t know what to say. Is it an apology? You don’t know entirely what he means. He’s had three glasses of whiskey, just like that night, and in the morning, he was just the same as before. You won’t count on the kindness he finds at the bottom of a bottle.
A sudden flash makes you squeak. You look over as Yvonne smiles over the large lens. You give a nervous giggle and brace Laufeyson tighter. He sweeps you away from the camera.
“Tomorrow, we will talk,” he avows, “but we can enjoy tonight. It is Walpurgisnacht and it is a new beginning.”
“Yes, Mr. Laufeyson.”
He winces and exhales, “can I be Loki for tonight?”
“Loki,” you echo, “yes.”
As the song ends, the heat speckling in your skin licks to flames. You don’t know if it’s being so close or his constant gaze or the thought of tomorrow and whatever you might talk about. You’re sweating and you're uncomfortable and you need a breath.
“Excuse me, um, I need the bathroom,” you gently pull away.
He reluctantly lets you go, his hand lingering on your hip as he points, “there, in the tents, I believe mother had facilities put up.”
“Thanks,” you offer a weak grin and step away from his grasp.
“I’ll be here,” he promises as you go.
You try not to hurry. You don’t want him to see how desperate you are to be away. It isn’t him, it’s you. This is all too much for you. It isn’t you. You’re not one of these people but they treat you like one. You’re just a poor girl born of cigarette ash.
You find your way to the tent housing the stalls. You take your time and try to collect yourself. Your nerves are tingling in your fingertips and where he held you; just along your lower back and your hip. It’s that urge that worries you, the one that made you think of resting your head on his shoulder.
You emerge and use the outdoor sinks set up in front of the stalls. You dry off and measure your breaths. You can do this. You go back down towards the fervour and as the night sets in, the large lights come to life and light the crowd.
You search the clusters of bodies. Where is Mr. Laufeyson? As you inch along the threshold, a shadow shifts to your right. You glance over but the figure disappears. You shake off the eerie sensation creeping down your spine and march forward into the tide of people.
You weave around bodies and tables, dizzy from the flurry all around you. You stagger as you’re nearly stampeded by a rowdy group of guests and you spin around to face a table in the far corner. There you find a scene that makes your heart plummet into your stomach.
You can’t stop yourself as you near the pair. Laufeyson, Loki, sits in a chair, two drinks on the table; his whiskey and another bright purple concoction. But beside him is Sif. She leans forward, her wrist clutched in his grasp as she whispers through the curve in her delicate lips. He stares back at her, eyes fiery, jaw locked.
“Loki, we had something good…” you hear her slither as you get closer. Her blue eyes dance over to you and her lips curl, “I still love you.”
She looks at him again and smashes her lips into his. He winces and turns his head, his gaze finding you as you stop, paralysed as you watch helplessly. You blink and swallow, wetting your lips as you bring your hand up to your sickened stomach.
“I’m sorry,” you murmur, “I didn’t mean to interrupt.”
You turn and race away on clacking heels. You don’t look back as you elbow through bodies, running without direction, without escape. You just need to be away from it. All of it.
You find the pathway into the garden, plunging into the brush as your heels wobble with each step. You stumble and grunt in frustration. You stop and bend to unbuckle the shoes, tossing them away before you hurry on.
You find the stone gazebo, lit only by moonlight, and throw yourself inside. You land on a stone bench and hang your head in the frame of an arched window. You deflate as you hunch over, trembling so much it hurts.
You won’t cry. Why would you do that? It doesn’t matter. It shouldn’t matter. Mr. Laufeyson only said you looked magnificent then turned around to kiss his ex-wife. And why wouldn’t she? She’s much more than you’ll ever be. She fits neatly into their puzzle.
“Ah, little maid,” the gazebo darkens as the moonlight disappears as if a clouds passed over the nocturnal guardian, “what is the matter?”
You sit up and shudder as Thor’s burly silhouette limns in silver. You brace the edge of the bench and stand.
“N-nothing, I was only… having a break, I should head back–”
“It is peaceful out here,” he says, unmoving as you gesture around him. He fills the entire doorway.
“Yeah, but er, I should–”
“How do you like Walpurgisnacht? Are you having fun?” He asks, propping and elbow against the stone.
“Sure, I guess.”
“And did you play any games?” he sneers.
You falter and lean back on one heel. You have a bad feeling. You wring your hands as the air breezes in, a shiver rattling you.
“No…”
“That is too bad. This is a day of fun! Games are fun, aren’t they?”
“Please, Thor, I have to get back–”
“Let’s play a game,” he ignores your protest and steps into the gazebo, “I know a special game.”
“Thor,” you croak as you glance towards the windows. You see the lights above the trees and hear the muted noise of the partygoers and Bragi’s tunes. You look back to him as he takes another step towards you.
“You can be the mouse…” he says, “and I shall be the cat.”
“No, please, I don’t want–”
“You best be nimble, mouse. for the cat is hungry,” he growls as he looms closer, “and ready to pounce!”
He lunges and you jump back. Your shoulder hits the wall and you cry out. You turn and feel around, nearly falling through the opposite doorway as your feet slip over the stone steps. You stumble at the bottom, slipping in the grass as twigs and stones poke into your bare soles.
You hear him behind you, laughing as he makes a steady but easy pursuit. You sprint across the small field towards the row of brush, skirt catching on bramble as you dive into the wilderness. You don’t know where you’re going, you just need to get away.
Your feet slip on moss as dirty sticks to your skin. You puff as you pump your arms, glancing back over your shoulder frantically. He isn’t running, but he is coming. You can hear him laughing.
You swerve around, towards the noise of the party. You just need to get back there. You need to find a path. You don’t know where you are, the further you go, the more lost you are. The noises fade further and further. Oh god, wrong way!
Suddenly, your toe hits something hard and you nosedive forward. You don’t have time to get your hands up as your face crunches into a thick trunk and you collapse to the ground. You roll over as you taste iron on your tongue. Ow.
You sit up and touch your throbbing nose. As you plant your feet to stand, you hear a rustle and suddenly, you’re pushed flat to your back. Thor snickers as he holds you down by your shoulders, straddling you beneath him as he huffs.
“Ah, I’ve caught you, mouse,” he taunts as you squirm and whimper, “now the cat must feast.”

Something considered normal would rarely be considered wrong.
So, registering your soulmate’s image via looking in a mirror at 18 and having a photo snapped had never worried you.
Everyone did it.
It was normal.
It was safe.
It was how most people found their soulmates, and even then some just didn’t.
This early spring day started as every day usually did. You got up and ready for work, took public transport to the office, and logged in at 9 a.m.
Lunch came and went, spent with the coworkers you got along with best, all venting about the small annoyances of the morning. You all returned to the office and the afternoon crawled by.
Last minute, your boss asked you to finish a report now rather than tomorrow morning and you waved goodbye to your co-workers with a shrug and a put-upon smile. They’d all been in your position at one time or another. No-one found it strange.
The report dragged on for a few hours and you had no idea why it couldn’t wait until tomorrow, but your boss was hardly known for his patience. He at least had the decency to stay behind too.
You sighed and printed a quick copy before knocking on the door to your boss’s office.
He called out and told you to come in, taking the report when you handed it over. His eyes barely scanned it before he spoke again; “Hey, I know it’s late, but we have a visitor in the conference room. Go keep them company, will you? It will just take a couple of minutes.”
You bit back the sigh and the roll of your eyes, knowing both could lose you your job. Stupid, tight ass boss. “No problem, boss,” were the words that came out of your mouth, a false smile before you turned and left - heading to the conference room.
You took the liberty of rolling your eyes hard before you plastered the smile back on and pushed the door open. “Hello.” You stepped into the room and held out your hand as you gave your name. “Mr. Dickson is sorry to keep you waiting, but how can I help you?”
Not the normal sort of client, if a client he was. Most clients showed up in suits or some sort of business attire, but this man wore a black T-shirt, combats, and a jacket certainly not of the suit kind.
“Brock Rumlow.” He smirked over at you and you saw the way his eyes gave you a once over. Slowly. Urgh. Double ugh when he continued with; “No problem at all, sweetheart. Don’t suppose you could get me a coffee?” He nodded over to the machine as he eased back into his seat.
“Of course, sir,” you answered with a smile.
“Feel free to grab yourself one, too. Your boss sent you in here to keep me company, huh?”
“Something like that, Mr. Rumlow.” The pot only needed warming before you poured two cups and offered him one, taking a seat opposite the man.
“I hope he doesn’t make you stay this late all the time, I hate it when my boss makes me work overtime.” He snorted and rolled his eyes as he took a sip of his coffee. “Do this, do that, clean up some mess, collect an alien’s soulmate, kill that politician, clean up more mess. Not a day’s rest I tell ya.”
You nodded politely, staring down at your cup as you fully processed his words. Aliens, soulmates… killing politicians? You didn’t know which was the most out there. “I-’m sorry I’m not sure I follow…”
He only looked more delighted at your confusion and the way your body had stiffened. “Well, you see, sweetheart, there’s this guy, Loki, who showed up outta nowhere and, see, he talks a big game about taking over the Earth and we figured, seeing as you’re his soulmate, that he might rethink those big ideas if we offer you up instead.” Brock shrugged as if this was just casual conversation and didn’t have you frozen in your seat. “’Course, if that doesn’t work, maybe threatening to harm ya will change his tune. But what do I know about aliens? I’m just part of the STRIKE team.”
Brock smiled, as though he hadn’t just threatened you or spouted what sounded like absolute bullshit. A beat passed as you stared into the cup in your hands, eyes unseeing. “So why don’t we-”
He growled angrily as you threw the coffee and the cup containing it at him and jolted to your feet, running for the door, pulling it open-
Your short-lived escape attempt ended when another similarly dressed and built man stepped into view. His hands clamped down on your arms and the panic really set in as you protested and tried to escape. “Let me go!” You kicked and thrashed, hoping the noise might cause your boss to call the cops, but that small slice of hope was soon ripped from you. He appeared from his office, face like thunder.
“You said this would be quick, hurry up before someone hears this racket.”
Brock huffed from behind you, fingers sliding into your hair and tugging hard to drag your head back. “We coulda done this the nice way, bitch, but that’s off the table.” He pressed a cloth to your mouth, harder than necessary.
The thought of not breathing hadn’t even crossed your mind before the fumes entered your body and you soon slumped into unconsciousness.
You woke already knowing you weren’t at home. Everything felt off and you hadn’t even opened your eyes yet as you laid on what felt like a bed. You took a shallow breath, trying to remember, but everything before falling asleep stayed fuzzy at the edges.
You had been to work and… right, your boss had made you stay late and there had been coffee and…
Your eyes snapped open but so far it seemed like you were alone. The edge of the bed wasn’t far from the wall and you hesitated before rolling over. Good. No-one there either and this side of the wall had windows.
You shuffled over to them, eyebrows furrowing at their size. Small and curved at the edges. you slid the blind up to be met with the sight of clouds and uninterrupted sky.
You scrambled to the edge of the bed and the one door that led in and out of the room. “Hey! Hey!” you yelled, banging on the door, fear skittering through you. How long ago had last night been? What time was it now? Where were you now?
“Quit ya banging!” A stern thump that made the door rattle had you stumbling back and falling down to sit on the edge of the bed. “We’re nearly there, no need to get your panties in a twist, bitch.” It sounded like the man you’d met in the office… Brock if you remembered correctly.
He’d certainly changed his tune, but you had thrown coffee at him. Bastard deserved it.
“Where are we going?!” You had no idea if he would answer, if anyone would. Did it even really matter?
You were to be offered up as some consolation prize to an alien invader in the hopes he might go away.
You weren’t convinced of the plan; who would change their plans for the mere idea and appearance of their soulmate. You probably wouldn’t if you were in Loki’s position.
“New York,” came the answer before you heard footsteps leave the door.
You sank to the bed and flopped back on it, unsure what to do with yourself or for the rest of the flight.
You sat in what had to be some kind of interrogation room, a bit rich considering these guys had kidnapped you. A window made up much of the wall in front of you; the blank expanse of glass left you with nothing to look at but the reflection of your soulmate. It hadn’t changed for several years, but you’d noticed recently his hair had grown longer and it didn’t seem as well kept as before.
The sharp lines of his face had always left you flustered, but now they left you worried at the gaunt paleness that clung to him. What had happened? You couldn’t possibly know, you didn’t even know his name. Well, you hadn’t.
Loki. An alien. An invader.
You continued to sit silently in the chair, not knowing that an agent and your soulmate’s brother were busy deciding your fate.
“Father will not be pleased. Midgardians are not welcome to our realm and Loki is likely to remain in prison the remainder of her short life.” Thor spoke calmly but firmly. “Besides which, you tell me she is dangerous? A criminal? Why should Asgard take a criminal of Midgard to the golden realm? I do not think our prison is the best place to introduce them.” Thor couldn’t be certain, but he doubted the two would get along from what SHIELD had told him.
His brother would likely perceive another criminal as a threat or he would keep his guard up. Loki was not one for letting people in so easily. Especially not now. Whether she deserved kindness or not, he doubted Loki would afford her any.
“What if your brother wants to bring her?”
Thor’s eyes narrowed, giving the agent a sidelong glance. Hardly normal to accept a prisoner’s request… but he did love his brother fiercely - despite his recent tricks. “If,” Thor stressed, “Loki wants to bring her… I may agree,” Thor conceded. But he doubted such a thing would happen. “I will speak with him.”
Neither you or Thor knew the thin thread by which your fate hung.
The car rumbled through central park, you seated in the back wearing handcuffs and some gag like thing over your mouth that stopped you speaking. You still wore the bright orange scrubs and white shirt as though they’d plucked you from a prison somewhere.
You were free of Rumlow at least, you didn’t even know if the agent driving knew that you hadn’t been picked up from a penitentiary. This new one aligned more with what you imagined an ‘agent’ to be. Black suit, white shirt, sunglasses. Very Men In Black, which, ironic, since you were about to meet two aliens.
The car came to a stop and you looked out at the people milling around. You only recognised two for sure - one of them being your soulmate. Tony Stark confused you, for a moment, before you recalled his shift into heroism the last few years.
An equally tall, blond man held your soulmate's arm just above his elbow, so you had to assume this was the brother you’d heard murmurs about.
Your car door opened and a hand grabbed similarly below your elbow to help you out. Curious eyes turned on you and all you could do was silently, desperately, plead for someone to step in. Someone to take the gag off. You just needed one of them to be curious.
“Er… I don’t remember any plus ones going out to this little party.” Tony Stark gave the agent at your side a look over the top of his sunglasses, his gaze briefly sliding to you.
“She’s Loki’s soulmate,” the agent replied, no judgement but not much other emotion in his voice. He turned and marched you towards the pair of aliens.
“Now, hang on a minute.” A different voice objecting this time and you craned your head behind you to see a blond dressed in a check shirt and a brown jacket. You thought you might have seen his face somewhere before, but you weren’t exactly firing on all cylinders and you couldn’t place him. “She might be a criminal of some kind, but you’re going to send her to another planet?”
“I’m sorry, Captain, but it seems she may be more dangerous than a Midgardian prison could handle,” Thor answered. “My brother told me he has made many a visit to her on Earth.” Fucking news to you! Your eyes flicked to Loki, brows furrowed, but he didn’t meet your gaze. “I do not think he could have taught her many of the tricks he uses, but SHIELD assures me that they have indeed met before.”
Now you understood the reason for the gag. Can’t contradict made up bullshit if you can’t speak. You were about to turn a furious gaze on the agent that brought you out of the car when the soft clinking of a chain drew your attention.
Loki curled a chained arm around your waist, grip firm, and tugged your back flush against him. The action forestalled anything you had been about to do or say and you attempted to catch his eye. He ducked his head and you felt the cool press of his own gag to the top of your head.
The gesture had you stilling in surprise and seemed to only cement the story that Thor had been spun.
You felt eyes on the two of you, studying intently, before Loki’s little stunt seemed to be accepted as proof and preparations began again. You assumed for travel to this Asgard, but how exactly? There weren’t any space ships nearby and you were fairly certain the car you’d arrived in wasn’t about to escape Earth’s atmosphere.
Something with Loki here?
Thor reappeared in your line of sight holding one of two handles of some canister. A blue cube glowed inside, but it didn’t make any more sense than it had a few minutes ago. He caught your eye, his look intense and serious. “Make sure you do not let go or you will be lost to space as Loki was before he came here.”
You felt like meaning lay beneath the words, something you were supposed to glean from them, but still struggling to process what had happened the last few days you simply nodded and took hold of the other handle. Loki’s hand settled beside yours, overlapping slightly. Unsure if this stemmed from kindness, or an attempt to be sure you didn’t let go. or something else to drag you further into the fiction and lies that had been created around you... Well, you had no way to protest, anyway.
You hoped nobody would spend too long looking for you. Maybe the local police had already told everyone you were dead, covering up the act that you still couldn’t quite understand.
You wondered if you would ever see Earth again after this.
Your hand unknowingly reached for Loki’s at your waist, gripping tightly in fear of what was to come and in sorrow that you didn’t know what mess you were leaving behind.
Silence as Thor turned the handle, anticlimactic, but you felt it as your stomach dropped similarly to when an elevator descends too quickly and you were pulled upwards. The blur of colours was almost too much for your eyes to bear as your vision blurred, but soon enough your feet settled on solid ground once more.
You desperately blinked back the blurring at the edges of your vision to take in the bright gold that lined the room you had landed in. Or maybe an observatory of some kind.
“Welcome home,” a deep but firm voice greeted, your eyes drawn to a man in gold armour whose eyes glowed just as brightly as the metal. He sheathed the sword into the metal stand in front of him and approached the three of you.
You thought you could see something sad in his gaze as he touched the metal on your face, drawing it easily away from you and returning your ability to speak. “I am sorry you were dragged into this mess, miss.”
“How did you…?”
“My name is Heimdall and my duty is to watch over the Nine Realms. While I cannot see all at once, and some have managed to evade my sight in the past,” At this he gave Loki a look before returning his gaze to you - eyes softening once more, “I have kept an eye on your journey these past few days.”
“Heimdall, of what do you speak?” Thor asked in utter confusion.
But you found the words and breath to speak first. “They lied to you, I’m not an inmate! I’ve never even gotten a parking ticket!” you protested, courage mounting with every word you got out. “I was just doing my job like always and a couple of thugs came to the office and kidnapped me.” A squeeze at your waist reminded you of Loki’s presence and you pulled out of his grip, turning your annoyance on him. “And we have never met! I’ve only ever seen his reflection.”
“Loki-” Thor growled at his brother, but received only a simple shrug and a look that lacked all remorse in reply. “Why did you-?”
Warm hands took your wrists and distracted you, your gaze drawn by watching Heimdall break the cuffs on your wrists as easily as if they were made of paper. “My apologies, miss. I had no way of letting anyone on Earth know of the misconception.” He didn’t smile, per se, but he seemed genuine and his greeting kind.
He took a step back and you breathed with relief to finally be free of all your chains. “At least someone knows what’s going on.” Though Loki had to have known too, so why had he lied to Thor and SHIELD? “How exactly am I supposed to get home?” you asked, looking between the two brothers as if scolding children.
“Heimdall is to use the Tesseract to restore the Bifrost and once it’s fixed, he will be able to send you home. If I can, I will return with you and explain the situation to the Avengers - they’ll be sure to help,” Thor rushed to assure you.
To be fair, they had tried, but Thor had been so convinced by SHIELD… Well, he just seemed to have gotten all mixed up in all of this so you nodded. “So, I’ll just have to wait until the bridge is fixed?”
Thor smiled brightly this time, like the sun bursting through on a cloudy day. “Yes, just until it is fixed. I’m sure Mother will be happy to provide hospitality.”
“I see my son is already volunteering me.” Her voice sounded light and happy despite the situation, drifting over from some as yet unseen doorway off to the side.
“Your Majesty.” Heimdall bowed to her and you quickly followed suit - you didn’t want to end up in the dungeons for however long it would take to fix the Bifrost.
You straightened up to find her gentle smile turned your way, her beauty and motherly face stealing your breath. “I’m glad to finally meet you, though you are such a familiar sight that I feel as though I know you already.” Her arm settled softly around your shoulders and she started to steer you along the beautiful bridge you stood on.
Loki huffed behind you and you wondered if he might be embarrassed? No, probably not.
“I’m sorry you were brought here under such circumstances, but welcome to Asgard.” Weird space travel and spy stories coming to life aside, maybe spending some time in the golden city laid out before you wouldn’t be so bad.

It took a long while for the shock of Jane’s revelation to set in, the small court just stared at her for a while, a strange breeze that came from nowhere seemed to drift through her hair so that it floated around her face in artistic waves.
“Well.” Brunnhilde said, shocked, “that’s quite the party trick, Jane.” Her lip quirked up into a smile as she looked her friend up and down before turning to Thor. “And you were going to share this information, when? I assume you must know?”
Thor opened and then closed his mouth, at a loss.
“Thor, she has your hammer.” Korg looked more confused than anyone. “I thought that was your magical hammer?”
“It is,” Thor grunted, looking more than a little betrayed. I still have Stormbreaker though, I am still as mighty and powerful as ever, do not worry about me.” He attempted a casual laugh but it came out as a weak cough.
“I’m sure that’ll come in very useful,” Brunnhilde didn’t move her gaze from Jane until she’d put the hammer down, the armour, hair and magical wind vanishing as quickly as it’d appeared.
“All this to say, Estrid, I’d be happy to come with you to save Loki. He saved my life, once, I thought he’d sacrificed his own life for mine and Thor’s. I feel like I owe him, even if he is still alive.”
You’d yet to hear this story, but you were even more determined to hear it with Loki present. There was still so much you didn’t know about each other, and the loss of him was still so keen, so painful. You needed him back, so you could discover everything there was to know and relish in everything you already knew him to be.
“Thank you, Jane, you’re a good friend.”
Jane reached out and squeezed your hand. “I suppose we have a rescue mission to plan then.” And you smiled for the first time since Loki had been taken because, for the first time, you thought there might actually be some hope of seeing him again.
Brunnhilde called a recess on your, admittedly, very casual court and strode into her back office, slamming the door. You weren’t sure if it was Jane’s admission that she too held powers similar to Thors, or that Carol wouldn’t be joining Asgard any time soon, that had led to her unusually emotional outburst. You’d known Brunnhilde only a short time, but she was always collected, snarky almost, releasing her emotions carefully out of sight of her court and her people.
You took a step, aiming to follow her. It must be very, very, lonely to have to keep a brave face all the time. Your own had been woefully unsuccessful, but you could at least offer her your support.
Thor touched your shoulder, tightening his fingers and drawing you back with his gentle strength.
“Leave her, Trouble, she just needs some time to - process.” He looked sad, tired, and for the first time you thought about what a toll this must be taking on everyone.
Korg slid a pint sized mug towards you, liquid sloshing over the sides, “it helps.” He offered.
You took the mug gratefully, lifting it to your lips and sipping expecting tea or coffee - spluttering you sat the mug down and looked at the smiling Kronan.
“This is mead,” you coughed.
“Yes, it helps.” And you allowed a rare smile to creep to sneak onto your face.
Loki had been alone before. He had fallen through space, probably time as well if he really thought about it, he had been cast aside by his family, made poor choices and been equally as punished by his father as he had Thanos. He had been alone and rebuilt his life on Sakar. But he had never felt the crushing weight of this loneliness as he did now, staring at his own gaunt reflection in the reinforced glass of his prison.
He had never before remembered your touch, his home had never had another dwelling in it that he felt such an affinity for and he hoped that you were still there, still safe.
Loki’s thoughts drifted constantly, even when he was with strangers at least he could talk to them. He had created quite the social circle alongside Thanos and in Sakar, though he did rather regret aligning himself with both rulers. Here no one spoke to him, no one even looked at him.
He remembered being alone on Asgard as a young boy, how thrilled he’d been when his mother had told him that her friend was bringing her own child. Someone of a similar age and disposition, who liked to read, who was learning magic, who enjoyed games. Loki had imagined someone like himself, a tall boy who he could hunt and fight with. He had been shocked when a girl had peaked around her mother’s skirts at him.
“Estrid, you very welcome here in Asgard. May I present my son, Loki. He has similar talents. Perhaps he could show you the palace.”
He had peaked between his mother’s skirts to look at you, hidden inside your own mother’s cloak. Loki had bowed, just as he’d been taught and looked back at Frigga for confirmation that he’d done so correctly. In return you’d stepped forwards, holding your dress and curtseying.
He had missed you dearly for many years and not even known that the ache in his chest was you. How had he let you out of his sight for even a moment.
You, who had brought him everything he’d been looking for, a go-between to soften the often difficult relationship with his older brother, a playmate that was on his side and, eventually, someone who saw him as he truly was. Loki closed his eyes, unable to look at his own sullen face a moment longer, and reached out to you again.
I miss you, my darling, and, though I would hate to ever be the cause of your distress, I hope that you miss me too.
Watching the waves in the harbour you felt a surge of magic, as if it had wound about your heart and tugged you. Looking back at your door the lantern light that, since Loki had vanished, you couldn’t bare to turn off, flickered and danced. The artificial light stayed where it was, but something more flared and jumped, slithering towards you. The fiery snake moved swiftly and your own calf appeared from behind you defensively. But you knew it wouldn’t harm you. With a smile you waved the calf to the side and allowed the snake to coil around your ankle and slink its way up your leg. Reaching down it coiled into your cupped hands and you held it close, allowing its warmth to sink into your chest.
“I miss you too, Loki.” You whispered to the waves, hoping they’d take your message back to him somehow.
The council didn’t pick up again when you returned to the Long Hall the next day. A walk along the wharf had cleared your head and a glimpse of Loki, even just his sedir, had given you the courage you needed to keep going instead of just staying at home and crying as you wanted to.
He was right, you were a Goddess, a Princess and you would act like one. Wiping a few tears from your cheeks you stepped back into the hall to be met with a familiar face.
The man was sat with Brunnhilde, the King in her throne, a worried look on her face. The older women were cooing and fussing, filling a trestle table with tea, mead, beer, biscuits, half a fruit cake, anything they could get their hands on. His blonde curls formed a halo around him, even in the harsh fluorescent light. His spear was propped against the table casually and, hanging up your own coat, you noticed his green cape on a hook.
Lugh.
He had found you then and, after all you’d heard about his friendship with your mother, you were unsure how to proceed. Embarrassed that you had argued with him so fiercely when he had cared so deeply for your family.
“Estrid.” Brunnhilde looked up, beckoning you closer, “I think it’s time we all talked.”
Lugh stood, offering you his chair, which you cautiously accepted.
“Thank you for not running, Princess, I believe you listened to the prophecy?”
Lugh took a chair opposite you, folding one leg neatly over the other and lacing his fingers together.
“Yes,” you said, warily. This was the first time you’d met without the panicking variables of your previous encounters. There were no Avengers or Gods to distract you. This was the Long Hall, Brunnhilde had been talking to him just moments before, and yet you couldn’t let yourself settle.
“So you see how this simple prophecy, possibly even just a dream, has caused so much…chaos.” He smiled slightly on the last word, taking a sip from his cup.
“You think it’s about me?”
“I know other people think it’s about you.”
Lugh’s casual demeanour was making your blood boil, fire danced between your fingers and your calf was back, nuzzling into your leg.
“And I also know what I believe, knowing your family and your history. I saw your raw talents as a mere babe.”
You stared at him, everyone did, waiting for him to go on. But he remained silent, waiting for your request. When you said nothing he raised a single eyebrow and sipped from his cup again. With a sigh, you gave in.
“Please, tell me.” Your teeth were gritted, fingernails digging into your palms. The last time Lugh had been given free reign to talk to you, it had ended with you storming off and, this time, there was no Loki around to cool your fire. You could still feel his cold touch in your memories, the way he surrounded you and doused you.
“Your gift,” Lugh pointed at the flames that sat above your skin, “you have been able to do that since I first saw you, swaddled as you were in your mother’s arms. It never burnt you, or her, but it kept others away.”
“Bres?”
Lugh nodded, “yes, Bres was already jealous, knowing you were not his, but he is not entirely cruel and had wanted to try for your mother’s sake. No one could get close until Brigid and Frigga tamed the flames. Bres believed you to be a Goddess of Fire,” at this Lugh rolled his eyes, “he always was so literal, such a bore. But the idea stuck, not just for him but with the Vanir as well. They wanted you to bring fire and chaos and Ragnarok so that they could seize power. So, naturally, Bres made a deal.”
“The betrothal.”
“Exactly.”
“But, when he came for me, he said I would be the Goddess of Lust.” Your brow furrowed, “there’s nothing in the prophecy about that.”
“You are correct, that was his intention. But he did not know you well, he believes he can control these things simply by being a King, forgetting that the universe has its own path, that gods forge their own way. Bres believed you to be a goddess of Lust because he wanted you to be, and then you seduced Loki -”
“I didn’t seduce him I -”
Lugh held up his hand, “child, do not fret on these details. You were but youths, you cared for one another.”
You mused on this idea for a while and Lugh allowed you the quiet of your own thoughts.
“If I’m not the Goddess of Lust, then what am I?”
“I can only answer for myself, child, for you have yet to ascend and truly come into your powers. But I believe you are the Spring, the way you forge through the darkness and bring new hope and life to those around you. It can be nothing else.”
Spring? You settled into the thought, it was kinder than Lust, yet, there was something wrong, something missing. It didn’t spark your magic the way Loki described enjoying mischief, it left you feeling hollow and empty. For a moment you considered arguing with Lugh, but he’d been so patient and kind it didn’t seem fair to push him away again.
“And now, child, we must think about the future and not the past. Bres resides on the cliffs of your home, on the very limit of Asgardian territory, and one of your court is missing. I must request that you come with me for protection while the warriors deal with this threat.” Lugh said, matter of fact, standing and brushing the tiny wrinkles from his fine clothes.
“Absolutely not.” You ground out, your blood cold at the thought of running again.
As if from a shadow Thor approached again, having left the two of you to talk privately. “Trouble, I really think it would be best if -”
“Thor, don’t, I know you just want to keep me safe -”
“We all want to keep you safe, Estrid. Come with me and we can wait for this to be over.”
“I won’t leave my people, I won’t leave my court, I am a sworn warrior of the Asgardian court and my place is here.”
“There will be no court if Bres unleashes hell upon you!” Lugh shouted, it was the first time he’d truly raised his voice in anger towards you and it made you shrink back, fire tingling at your fingertips.
“If you really don’t want me here, let me leave to rescue Loki. If you really want me safe, help me.”
Lugh cast a withering glance back at Thor, who shrugged his shoulders and looked over at you with a half amused, half indulgent, look on his face.
“Ah Trouble, you always know just how to twist things.” Thor reached over as if to pinch your cheek, but you batted his hand away, holding it out for Lugh instead, “do we have a deal?”
Lugh sighed heavily, “is this the only way you will leave? To go from one firefight straight to a viper’s nest?”
“It is, either stay here and fight Bres with me, or go with me to rescue Loki.”
“Then I shall accompany you to rescue the mischief maker,” he agreed, holding his hand out, “after all, this village will need all the heroes it can find.”
You had barely made contact with Lugh’s palm before an enormous bang rocked you from your feet, Thor caught you quickly, righting you as his armour manifested. With a half a thought, yours did too, the velvet and metal a reassuring squeeze against the echoing screams of the people outside.
Brunnhilde ran in from the kitchen followed by Jane, both in their armour, swords drawn, Mjolnir and Stormbreaker hovering near.
“What on Earth was that?” Jane shouted over the continuing rumble of noise. Clouds of brick dust billowed from under the doors and misted the windows.
The largest windows faced out onto the harbour and village square, where snow sludged over the edges of the quay into the freezing waves beneath. Now sepia toned from the stone dust the harbour was at least intact. Brunnhilde marched into the back kitchen where high thin windows looked into the alleyway behind but, with the right angle, she tilted her head up and peered at the cliff above the village.
“Fucking Bres.” She growled, storming from the kitchen, across the hall and out into the melee.
Thor was close behind with Jane on his heels, Mjolnir in hand.
The village was in disarray, rocks and mud sliding down the cliff edge had settled on the rooftops, an entire house had crumbled, its occupants thankfully free of the debris but sobbing in front of the ruins of their home and, from every corner, shadows and soldiers swarmed.
The cliff seemed to be covered in them, all carrying Bres’ or the Vanir banner, headed by Bres himself, flanked by a cruel looking man at his side, his eyes narrowed and a smirk curling the corners of his lips.
“I warned you,” Bres sneered, “I told you to come with me, welp, or you would suffer the consequences, I told you to know your place, or I would put you back there.”
“My place is here,” you shouted back over the chaos unfolding around you, “this is where I belong, these are my people and you will leave them.”
“Or what?” The Vanir beside him laughed, “I shall enjoy breaking you.” He leered, unsheathing his sword, and lept from the jutting rocks to the fallen debris below, getting closer and closer with each lurching stride.
You wanted to fall back, wanted your stomach to stop churning, but you held your ground, spear aloft and bursting with flames as he charged.
On signal from Bres the soldiers gathered closer and closer, the villagers backing up into the square where Thor and Jane corralled them into a circle behind them.
He was getting closer, so close, and you missed Loki so much, missed his reassuring touch, missed the feel of him beside you, ready to face any challenge, missed knowing he believed in you…but that belief, that knowledge, it didn’t reside with him. Your left hand unfurled, fire whipping from your fingers and curling at your feet, a wall of heat rising before you. He had told you enough times that you believed him, whether he was with you or not.
“Or, you disgusting pig, I’ll show you your place.” With a speed you didn’t realise you had, your left hand moved forward sending the flame snapping towards him like a bull whip. It cracked on the ground, cutting into the front of his leather boots.
“You little bitch,” he parried forwards again, pushing through the shield of heated air you’d created, his skin crackling and his sword clashing with your spear.
“Your argument is with me, leave the people alone.” You snarled, using your spear to push his sword back towards him.
From across the square you could hear Bres cackling maniacally, his own magic flashing as reflections in the windows, you could hear Mjolnir zipping past you and Brunnhilde’s battle cry as she pushed the soldiers back, towards the cliffs. Time seemed to slow, the sun hot on the back of your neck despite the grey clouds and biting wind.
He stepped closer, pushing through the shield despite the pain until he was nose to nose, flecks of spittle settling on his chin in his fury.
“I was promised a beautiful, lustful, bride and I have had to chase you across the universe and through the centuries just to discover that you are a wilful, disrespectful harlot.”
“So fuck off.” Your jaw hurt from gritting your teeth, but you refused to back down, stepping toe to toe.
“Like I said, I endured all that, and now I get to break you down too and I will savour every -” he pushed you backwards, “single -” his sword raised again, - “moment-”
Everything went black, the dull roar of fighting in your ears and the startled whites of his eyes as the darkness took over and then blinding light.
He had fallen back onto cobblestones, but there was no longer a Long Hall behind him, just more empty space, fields and trees, stones and even alpine flowers forcing their heads through the depth of the fresh snow fall.
“Where the fuck have you taken me?” He jumped back to his feet, sword out. Behind you Thor and Jane backed the last of the soldiers over the harbour wall with a splash before turning to see the empty countryside.
Beside you, Lugh placed a gentle hand on your shoulder, “you did it,” He smiled softly, “you summoned her cloak.”
The Vanir fled towards Bres, vanishing with a crack.
Loki felt a tremor deep inside, a stirring of a preternatural sense, something deep seated and startling. He had felt it only once before, although it had been very recent, when Hela had brought down the palace of Asgard and he had helped the people flee onto a rescue ship bound for gods know where.
It made him sick, roiled in his stomach and he marched for the windows, banging with all his strength.
“You must release me, Asgard requires my help. Release me! I must go and protect my people! Let me lose!”
There was no answer, only the subtle dimming of the lights and the echo of his own pleas.

If you send noods and quickly unsend it saying its a wrong send as prank🤙 (Hades, Poseidon, Thor, Hermes, Apollo)
Lots of love for u❤️💕
-You couldn’t help but grin, wondering how your lover was going to react to this viral trend you’ve been seeing around, to see not only how he reacts but to see if he truly does love you.
-There was a brief moment of your conscious questioning if this was going to be a good idea or not, but you decided to ignore the little voice in your head.
-You had taken a handful of pictures, before trying to select the best option, laying on your couch, humming quietly under your breath.
-Finally, having the perfect one selected, you pressed the button, “And send~ now to wait just a moment or two then send the second message~”
-When he got the notification that you messaged him, he couldn’t help but smile softly, he loved it when you messaged him. He eyes went wide, and mouth went dry, seeing the beautiful picture of your naked body, a mischievous smile on your lips.
-When he received a message only moments later, ‘Sorry wrong person!’ he froze, reading over the message several times.
-Knew you were pranking him, as he had seen the same trend around, but he couldn’t help but smile, seeing you trying to get a rise out of him. He left you on read before rushing to your home. He peeked inside, seeing you pouting that he left you on read before he entered, “My-my it seems like someone is pouting for not getting what they want~” you squeaked, panicking that he was there before he quickly swan dived into your arms, pinning you to the couch, “I’ll give you want you want, as long as you promise to send me my photos like that~” the squeak of delight was all he needed before he attacked you.
-Hermes and Apollo
-In the distance you felt a deep rumbling, the ground shaking and you looked up, “I wonder what’s causing that?” your lover had yet to respond, but he had seen both messages, so you held your phone, waiting for his response. It was when the rumbling got closer, like someone charging towards your home, that you got a little nervous before you let out a shriek as your front door burst open, showing your lover who looked furious, eyes glowing red that you were sending something scandalous to someone else. You panicked, showing him the prank, quickly telling him the truth that it was a prank, and you weren’t sending it to someone else. He quickly put you in your place, railing you to the bed until you were unable to walk. As you gasped for air he brushed your hair from your face, “Don’t try anything like that again. But I wouldn’t mind more photos.” You smiled softly up at him, knowing he had forgiven you before he went to go get you food.
-Poseidon and Thor
-Knew that you were pranking him, and he was quick to lock the door of the room he was in, shedding his clothes before sending you several pictures of his own. You sent him lots of hearts, loving to see his response before he sent you the same, ‘Sorry- wrong person.’ You quickly sent him crying and pouting emojis which made him laugh loudly, seeing that you got the message before he sent, ‘On my way.’ which made you smile, knowing you were about to have some fun. By the time he made it to your home, he was nearly feral, as you had sent him more pictures of yourself, including some new ones of you touching yourself, begging him to hurry to you. You unknowingly unleashed a beast as well as a new kink for the both of you as he rushed into your home, tearing his own clothes off.

Kinktober day 3- Hate Sex: Loki
Summary: You and Loki hate each other. Can you fuck it out?
Word count: 2,346 words
It had been about 6 months since Loki had come to live in the avengers compound, and about 2 years since you were rescued from hydra and began living with them. In that time you’d both made amends and became close with the team, but not with each other. In fact the opposite was true, you couldn’t stand one another.
This feud had started off innocently enough, with you just not liking his arrogance and him liking to stir up the young midguardian woman but it’s grown worse since then. Neither of you can stand to be in the same room for too long and Nat had even made Steve change the training schedule so you 2 wouldn’t have to be around each other. Once you were even in the elevator with each other for just a bit too long and almost blew it up.
Everyone on the team had tried many times to get you both to at least tolerate each other but nothing would work. You both simply could not stand each other.
One night you could just not sleep, tossing and turning for about 2 hours before you decided to get up and do something. Your brain was not tired and your body was not shutting off so you decided to get dressed and head to the compounds gym, maybe a run or a couple punches on the bag would help.
So far it seemed to be doing the trick, but as you manoeuvred around the bag to give it another combo, you spotted him. As soon as your eyes found each other you both seem to roll them in unison.
“What the fuck are you doing here?” You spat at him, taking your earphones out.
“Well it’s a gym, darling, where one may workout, maybe that’s what I’m doing.” He retorts, words laced with sarcasm and venom.
“Fuck you, Loki! And don’t call me darling.” You roll your eyes again as you turn to face away from him and return to the bag.
Before you could make another hit however you feel a hand on your waist and see another resting on the bag. Turning around you find, Loki towering over you.
“Why don’t you like when I call you ‘Darling’, darling?” He asks you teasingly with a smirk on his face.
“Because!” You accentuate as you shove him away.
“It’s you saying it.” You reply back with just as much, if not more attitude.
“Well I suppose if it was another one of the team saying it you’d be fine? Someone you actually consider worthy of such attention.” He bites back at you.
“Yeh someone worthy, someone like Thor. He’s the worthy one, not you.” You spit back at him, knowing that would hurt him.
A snarl made its way to his face and you knew you’d won as you turned around and began to put your earphones back in, but were too late before he started up again.
“Well maybe I should save my compliments and pet names for someone who’s actually attractive. Perhaps Natasha or Wanda would be appropriate.” He bites back with just as much venom, knowing that was also a low blow.
That hurt, but you kept your head up high as you turned back to him with a smirk.
“Funny you think they’d actually want you. You’re nothing, Loki. You’re second rate and you know it, the only reason you’re even here is because we like Thor. He’s the only reason you’re not locked away,” anger now evident in Lokis face and trembling fists as you continued your assault “he’s the reason you’re not dead. Your brother, Thor, the worthy one the one who’s actu-.” Your torment filled rants was cut short as Loki smash his mouth into yours, pushing you all the way back until your back collided with the wall.
At first you wanted to push him off but in your own twisted way you saw this as a challenge. Grabbing onto his gym shirt you deepen the kiss, now opening your mouth as your tongues fight for dominance.
“You are a rude, disgusting woman!” He says now grabbing your hair and pulling it back as his body pushes against yours, using his godly strength to keep you caged in.
“Maybe you need someone to teach you some manners, or maybe you just need someone to fuck some into you. Maybe that’s why you’re such a bitch, because no one wants to fuck you.” He growled, his face now getting closer to you.
“What you think you’re the one to do it? You think if you fuck me maybe I’ll be nice to you? Maybe I’ll be compliant? That I’ll see you as a mighty god?” You ask him tauntingly with a rage filled smirk on your face.
Flipping you around before you have a second to fight back he pushes your face into the wall, his hand pulling on your hair roughly and a tight grip squeezing into your hip. Pushing his strong body against your back and ass you can now feel his very hard cock pushing into your lower back, feeling every inch of him. Without meaning to you let out a small moan and leant into his grip, your body betraying you.
“Oh haha, who’s not worthy now, little girl?” He whispers hotly into your ear, taunting you once again.
“Fuck you.” You yell back as best you can with your face being forced onto the wall.
“I will if you like. Is that what you’d like?” He asked, his hand now reaching around to grab your covered pussy, feeling just how wet you are even with your workout pants and panties on.
“Mmmhhmm it feels like that’s exactly what you want.” He moans in your ear, playing with you through your clothes and slowly but strongly humping against your back.
You both stayed quiet for a moment, the only sounds echoing through the gym were both of you quietly moaning and grunting.
Loki truly did have skilled fingers because only moments later of just playing with you over your clothes you could feel your body tingling and you knew you were close.
“Oh you dirty slut. You’re about to cum aren’t you? Do you want to cum?” He asks you tauntingly.
“Yes! Please I want to cum!” You begged, all rage now being flooded by pleasure and a need for release.
“Beg. Beg me and I’ll let you cum. Beg me to fuck you, to turn you into a good girl.” He growled in your ear, his thrusts on your behind becoming faster as did his strokes on your clit. You didn’t want to give in, you wanted to fight him and win but god damn it you couldn’t deny how hot he was and how good he was making you feeling.
“Oh fuck! Please, Loki! Please fuck me! I need you, make me a good girl. Please fuck me hard! Please! I need your cock.” You sobbed out, desperate to get some release.
“Good girl.” Was all he whispered before he took his hands away and took a step back.
Being denied your pleasure made the rage in you flood back with a great vengeance.
“What the fuck, Loki!” You shouted at him as you made your way towards him. Before you could even take a step forward though he was back on you, pushing you against the wall, hand on your throat and harsh kisses shoving your head back.
“You really think the first time I would make you cum would be over your clothes like pubescent boy? Darling I intend to give you an orgasm only a God can give you. So you be a good girl and lay on your back on the floor for me. I’ll show you why they say a have a silver tongue.” He whispered against your lips as you looked into his eyes with need and submission.
“Okay, Loki.” You said quietly, earning you a playful slap on the ass as you made your way to the ground.
Loki was quick to jump on top of you. Making quick work to use him godly strength, tearing the clothes from your trembling body, leaving you completely naked on the cold gym floor.
“Couldn’t you just have magiced them away.” You ask rudely, seeing your nice new gym outfit ripped to shreds beside you.
“Yes of course,” he says pushing a hand around your neck, pushing you further down “but then you wouldn’t be able to see my godly strength, little one.” He whispers hotly into your ear teasing you.
Before you can respond he removes his hand from your throat and drags a moan out of you as he bites down onto your neck. This bites followed by sweet kisses down your neck, to your throat and landing on your first breast. He takes your nipple in his mouth, sucking and nipping on it as your hands tangle in his hair as your eyes roll and your head falls back.
Once he’s satisfied with the treatment your first breast received he moves on to the next, giving it a similar treatment. Once he’s happy with the attention he’s given your breasts, his kisses continue down your stomach and all the way to your pussy.
He just stares at your pussy for a while taking you all in as he licks his lips and spreads your legs apart, big slender but strong hands squeezing your thighs. Suddenly he licks up your pussy and tauntingly sucks on your clit for other half a second.
“Oh, darling, if I knew you tasted his heavenly I would have shut you up ages ago.” He smirks at you cheekily as begins to lick and suck at you again.
Loki truly did have a talented tongue because less than a minute later you felt yourself about to cum again. Not wanting a repeat of last time you began to beg.
“Please, loki, please I’m about to cum. You can fuck me as hard as you like, I’ll be a good girl for you just please let me cum. Oh please let me cum, baby, I’ll be such a good girl.” You begin to babble as you can’t wait for a response any longer and you cum before you can even stop yourself. A wave of pleasure like you’ve never felt before rushes over you as you grab onto Lokis hair and scream out a moan, head falling back and eyes rolling.
Once Lokis face comes back up you begin to worry, trying to babble out an apology, still in a state of great euphoria.
“Loki I’m sorry, I couldn’t control it, I needed to cum, I’m sorry.” You begged him, worried you’d done something bad.
“Shh shh, don’t worry, darling, you did wonderful.” He told you as he stroked your face.
His sweet and calm demeanour didn’t last long however as he grabs you by your throat once again and flips you over. Pushing your head down into the ground and shoving your ass up in the air. You moan as you feel his hard cock against your ass, this clothes now removed by his magic.
“Didn’t think I’d forget to fuck you did I? You naughty little girl. I’m gonna fuck you so hard you’ll never want to be mean to me again. Make you into such a good girl.” He growls in your ear as you try to rub yourself against him.
Before you can begin begging however, he’s shoved him cock all the way inside you, forcing your body forward.
“Fuck, you’re already my good little girl, your pussy was so wet I could just slam right into you.” He taunts as he begins to fuck you at a godly pace and power.
His hands dig into your hips so hard it hurt, no doubt leaving bruises and pain you’ll feel tomorrow. He truly was a god, the roughness of his thrusts not calming down, not even once. He fucks you full speed and force for what feels like a splendid eternity.
Your head begins to go dizzy as you can feel your orgasm approaching, sensing this Loki reaches around to lightly touch your clit, his speed and power not letting up once though.
“You’re close are you, my good girl? You gonna cum for me? You want to cum for your king? Be such a good girl for me?” He asks you sweetly.
Loki had been hitting all your right spots and fucking you so hard that all you could manage was a weak nod of your head, as another moan left your body with Loki pushing down harder on your clit.
“Oh is my good girl too cock drunk to answer? To full of pleasure? Don’t worry, my darling, I’ll let you cum. Come on, little girl, cum for me.” He says only now panting as he gets closer to finishing himself.
Mere moments after his words of encouragement you scream out a moan of absolute delight and pleasure as your eyes roll back. You feel a burst of wetness between your legs as Loki holds onto your hips and fucks you even faster, now cumming himself.
He roars out a moan as he finishes inside you, both of your cum mixing together.
Before you can fall to the floor Loki quickly pulls out of you and scoops you up into his arms. As you feel the warmth of his chest and his racing heart beat you realise he’s transported you under the covers in his nice warm bed.
He’s cleaned you up nicely and holds you lovingly against his chest as he kisses your forehead and strokes your arm.
“Are you going to keep fighting me now?” He asks playfully.
“Well if being mean gets me fucked like that then I might have to.” You joke back.
“Hmmm,” he sighs “how about being nice and seeing what I give you then, sweet girl.” He whispers to you seductively as he squeezes your ass before you both drift softly off to sleep.

"What you need is a little distraction"
Loki x reader
Summary: Official parties are boring, luckily you know exactly what to do. Or, you sneak away with Loki.
Word count: 965
CW: the grammar is dead/eng isn't my first language
The night was boring. Dreadfully unamusing.
And while Thor and his four loyal friends were away, Loki had to attend the official party. All of this because of a bet he lost against them earlier that day. He knew he should have listened to himself and cheated during the game. He could still hear the taunting victory sound of Thor, the moment the blond had won, ringing in his ears. This misfortune had only reinforced his want to erase this troublesome party, the day he would be King.
"The party is here to preserve our relationships with the neighbors.” Had said Frigga once, explaining both to Thor and him the importance of organizing those events, politically and military speaking.
Loki couldn't care less about the neighborhood's world. His brother would have said that ‘it had to be done to keep Asgard above all’ while still not attending, the very same person who wanted the throne. This contradiction wasn't something the blond even tried to hide. He wanted to be king without the inconvenience of being one. And this was part of the many reasons Loki found himself to be more fit to have the crown on his head.
Unfortunately, he was living in Thor's shadow. The almighty Thor, God of thunder, son of the all father. While he was just Loki, the mischievous tricker, with a tongue made of silver. It was easy to see who was the favorite in people and their father’s eyes. And he knew, he knew perfectly he wasn't perfect. But Thor wasn't either. He was dumb, only thinking with his muscles, not looking at the entire picture, only wanting to fight, and fight, and fight. The blond was strong, stronger than Loki even, but being kind wasn't just about strengths. It was also about brains, something Loki was proud to have plenty of. No one could ever say that Loki wasn't smarter than his brother.
In Loki's mind, he was probably smarter than all the people present at this party. Except for his mother, and maybe, just maybe you. You, who had happened to spill your liquor on his fine asgardian's attire.
"I'm so sorry!" You exclaimed, falsely apologetic, putting your hand over your mouth. Something the prince perceived in an instant as lying was his expertise. “Please, let me clean it for you.” Putting your glasses aside, you took his hand in yours, leading the both of you away from the party.
All happened in a span of a few seconds, but it did not get Loki off guard. He knew what you were up to the moment your eyes laid on him. He had just been waiting for you.
“Well you sure did take your time love.”
Gasping and shaking your head, you answered à hint of banter at the back of your voice. “Excuse me, you highness. I was not aware of your precious time.”
“Plus, you didn't have to ruin my gracious clothes.” He remarked, drawing a small annoyed huff from you. "Thank you nonetheless, you saved me from a pathetic party. Again."
The castle's corridors were silent, only the sound of your footsteps echoing, filling the calm night, as Loki remembered how you both met in those exact circumstances.
It was a few years back, at the same uninteresting party. You were both bored out of your mind, standing to the side, a glass in hand looking at everyone being falsely nice to one another to maintain the peace. In a quest to entertain himself, Loki showed some easy tricks to some guests, ending up gathering a little crowd around him, looking in awe at his magic.
Green sparks that got your attention, as it was the first interesting thing happening. Looking from your spot, you saw the far away look in his green eyes, a detached look similar to yours, telling all you needed to know as you made your way to the prince, putting your empty glasses aside.
You were what some people would qualify as a bold one, and that night you did well to validate their saying. Getting near Loki with assured steps, you quickly snatched his hand in yours, as you passed through the little crowd in a flash.
You were leading the both of you as far away as possible from this suffocating party.
While Loki wasn't one to register people's presence, you caught his attention well, taking him by surprise even. Finally registering what was happening to him, he instantly halted, making you stop too, ripping his hand out of your grasp.
“And who do you think you are!?” He demanded, offended and irritated, eyebrows furrowed.
Turning around, hands on hips you answered calmly. "I'm (Y/N), and you could be a little more polite with the one who saved your night."
Crossing his arms against his chest, he scoffed, "I do not need any saving, even more from someone like you."
"Alright.” You challenged, mimicking him closing your own arms, one eyebrow raised and a small taunting smile drawing your lips, you continued. "Go back to the party then, I apologize for having ripped you from all the fun."
That was new for the prince, someone daring provoking him. He couldn't stop his lips shaping in a rather charming smile. “Why, never in my life would I have except this night to take such a turn.” You had picked his interest.
And years after he still was. Loki grew less hostile towards you, never letting go of your hand. Never again, he promised himself. He was feeling at ease in your company, away from all the judgements, finally having his own light shining upon him and him only.
"What do you want to do?" You asked, bringing the prince out of his mind.
"Whatever you want, love."

Loki Taglist: @lokisprettygirl22 @otakumultimuse-hiddlewhore @high-functioning-lokipath @thereadinggeek @el-zef @beakami @lokiprompts @ilovefanfictions @eleniblue @novena-proxy @lulubelle814 @beakami @laurenandloki @tjellisworld
“Stay” he pleaded against your hair, “Give me one good reason”.
“I really…uhm” it wasn't the best moment to be at loss of words, but he tripped with all sorts of different sentences, not a single one made sense or was good enough to express how he felt.
He took way too long, in tears you sighed, putting your hands on his arms to force him release you, "I knew it" you murmured.
"Fuck" he cursed. Loki turned you around, closed the door with your back against it, and before you could protest he kissed you.
That kiss took you back to the beginning of the year. New year's eve, you just got back from a two week mission, that wasn't supposed to last two weeks.
You almost missed New year's eve, your plan was a night of sleep, not caring about the whole thing, because you were bruised and tired, because you just had to be undercover rescuing some dumb cop that got caught spying some mobsters.
Apparently it involved the avengers because the cop is a mutant of some sorts, so because of his dumb ass you were stuck in a dirty cell instead of celebrating.
And why you? Because no one else wanted to go, and you were late to the meeting. Stark had the laugh of his life.
Stark on the other hand, teared that plan to shreds with his whole event going on. There was no way to reach the dorms with the party in your way. Also with Natasha and Wanda being all over you to get you to stay and have fun.
You ended up staying because, what the hell, right? You needed the drink and to kick someone's ass for the horrible mission they threw you in.
After a lot of drinks, Thor saw pertinent introducing his brother to the team, seeing that no one would be within reason enough to refuse him, bold but smart move.
Loki, in your drunken eyes, was the most beautiful being you had ever seen, though, what came out of your mouth was simply humiliating.
You called him weird, because you believed aliens were supposed to be green skinned, he actually laughed and told you his actual skin color is blue, in his ever so sarcastically polite manner of course.
Since he was in a mean mood, your drunken ass had no other better idea than making him absolutely uncomfortable. "So if your skin is blue, then so is your tongue and your dick?" Everyone of course laughed at your dumb question, Thor on the other hand was a bit worried the temper of his brother might get him to set you on fire.
"You talk to me like that again, mortal, I dare you" his voice resonated through the room, making the other 'ooh' in response, like when a classmate is being called out by the teacher.
After a good laugh, you stood up, poked his leather covered chest and spoke, "Listen popsicle, I had a rough couple of weeks, okay? Threaten me again, and I'll throw you out that window" pointing the open window behind you. "You wouldn't dare" he lowered his head enough to be face to face with you, his lips very close to yours.
After a little snicker, you stole a kiss from him, "Behave handsome, and you'll never know" after a wink you sat again, taking a big sip out of your drink.
To say he was stunned was an understatement, he had his revenge though. After Wanda changed your liquor into water, pulling what you called a reverse Jesus, you weren't drunk enough for when Loki cornered you against a wall and kissed you.
"An eye for an eye, minx" he purred in your ear before vanishing in the air.
Funny, he swore you wouldn't remember, but when you reminded him of it the morning after, he spilled his coffee all over the kitchen counter.
--
"Please stay" he brought your mind back to the situation, "Ask the bitch you were with to satisfy you, she must be looking forward to fuck you" he chuckled at your spite, finding it both cute and alluring.
"Is that why you've been unbearable all week? You're jealous." His eyes shone with the power that emanated from within him, power that he knew he had over you.
"I'm not jealous." Your denial made him laugh, even more than he was already having fun with your anger. "Honey, if you wanted my attention so much, you should have told me." He closed the distance, raising one knee to separate your legs and have you closer. .
His goal must have been to devour you, because of the way his tongue tasted the inside of your mouth, a kiss that lit the candle of passion for him.
"Wait," you moved your face, breaking the kiss, searching for air more than anything. He waited a couple of seconds for you to say something else, that you didn't want him, that you hated him, with no response.
Your lack of words guided his hand to cup your neck, gently at first, then pulled roughly until he devoured your mouth again, biting, without regard, the soft flesh of your lips.
"Darling, I've realized how careless I am to leave your needs unattended, let me fix that" he lowered his head to your collarbone and from there to the base of your ear he licked like a wolf getting a taste of his prey. The sensation sent a shiver down your spine.
You wanted to resist, but his kisses, ever so skillful, his hands traveling from your ass to your hips, just enough to hug them and lift you up, automatically you hooked your legs behind his back, then your hands flew to hang on his shoulders, for support. It was all too much.
This is what he does to get you in motion, you knew it. He pulls you up and then you're so lost in him, there's not enough sense that can overthrow your hunger for his clever touch, the bites he likes to leave as he goes down on you, his smart silver tongue against your clit.
In one swift motion, he laid you down on his bed, still having at least one hand on your hips to keep you grounded.
He wanted to have you again, fast. You, were doomed and lost in his caresses, your hands were all over his back and hair, his own matching your movements, while his pelvis teased yours, thrust after thrust, both undergarments were soaking wet.
As time went by, your doubts dissipated, all that remained was the lust you felt for the evil-born god, who with his hands got rid of all excess clothing. He didn't pay any attention to your lingerie, much less to your wounds. His cock was no mystery to you, he was huge and veiny, perfect for touching all those internal areas that needed his attention, and boy was he good at using it.
His hips collided with yours with each thrust, the sound of skin touching and the wet sound filled the room, as did your moans and his.
Ecstasy was a word you wouldn't use for that moment, there was a knock at the door, and it turned out to be none other than the bitch who accompanied him to the party, which made Loki hit you much harder to divert your attention.
He pulled out of you for a few seconds, then pulled your body towards him, rotating your hips until you were on all fours. He grabbed your hair and he continued fucking you, the thrusts getting stronger and more accurate, hitting every single spot he knows make you week.
"You're mine, to touch, to have, only mine" he breathed against your ear, to which you couldn't respond, the heat clouded your senses, a warm feeling crawled up your core to your chest, a feeling you knew the meaning.
"I love the way you squeeze me when you cum" he said in between panted laughs, "Now, stay, please" you shook your head, "Please love" he then pulled out, grabbed his boxers and came inside them. Disgusted, he threw them on the sink in the bathroom and left the water running on it, until they were soaked, then turned it off and returned to your defeated, tired and ashamed being.
He reached for you as soon as he positioned by your side, but you rolled away from him, "Darling, my sweet love" his hand caressed yours, it was so warm, but of course your pride was stronger than your love for him, so you moved it away from his touch.
"You're still mad at me?" he sounded so surprised, so you laughed, sarcastically obviously. "All this time, you made me believe that you liked me enough".
"What do you mean? I like you," you didn't want to believe anything he said at that moment, "But you still go out with other women, you kiss me, you fuck me and I'm still not enough," again he was left without explanations, " Honey, that's not-" he tried, but he stopped himself, biting his tongue before saying something he'd regret.
"I don't care, you made me think you wanted more than just a quick fuck, but then it was slut after slut" you stood up, first putting on your bra, then your stockings, then your dress, your shoes were actually too much for the state of your legs, so you had them hanging
“Y/n” he called out to you, but you still hadn’t gotten everything out of your chest.
"I'm sick of this, Loki, I don’t wanna do this anymore" holding a tear behind while saying it, burned, but you had to either draw the line or break the cycle.
"But I do like you" that wasn't enough, he thought, still being at loss of proper thinking.
"That’s not the point, horns" he saw in your eyes, and on the way you were hugging your shoes close to your figure, a way to feel your words, deep inside him they resonated.
But before he could feel bad, "It's been a while since you called me that" he purred that sentence like a way to ease the tension.
But you huffed and rolled your eyes, making him lose some of the sanity he had left, "Norns woman, will you tell me what I did wrong?".
"Geez Loki, do I have to think for you too? You used to be so witty, maybe the whores sucked off your brain too"
“Right, stay mad at me for absolutely no reason then, that’s fine by me”
"No reason? I wasted a year of my life to a god, that resulted no different from a regular human asshole"
“Mind your words, mortal”
“Funny, I thought you liked my dirty mouth, horns”
“Just tell me what I can do”
“Figure it out”
As soon as he saw you leave the room, he jumped out of bed, dressed with a spell, and ran after you. The sounds of the party were getting louder, obviously the party continued, a simple fight was always part of Stark's meetings, so people saw it as something common.
“Y/n, you were right” he caught your arm, just before you stepped out to the living room. “I started feeling things for you, but, I couldn’t bring myself to fill in the role of partner you need, not because I didn’t wanted to, the reason is unknown to me” his doubt was the only reason you needed to know that he was still the same prince that blew up his own planet a year ago.
“Sounds void to me” your coldness gave his frozen heart frostbite, so full of truth nonetheless, “I know, but I can’t afford to lose you” it had to stop, you thought, “But you can’t bring yourself to love me properly” you slipped your hand from his touch, “I…We need to stop, I can’t with this”.
It's hard to let go of something you thought you loved but that was destroying you with every kiss and empty promise, but the feeling of freedom that invaded you after a month of detox was unmatched.
Finally, after a month, you stopped caring who he was dating or not, and also the gifts he left at your door, with letters begging for your forgiveness. "You're forgiven, Loki, I'm just not interested in having anything with someone who doesn't know how to take things with responsibility and commitment," much less with a prince who has always had everything on a silver platter and women who lined up to have sex with him.
Maybe he was much more than that, but you didn't know, he never let you see beyond his superficial way of being. You saw some vulnerability when he hugged you after sex and stayed with you until the next morning, and then he said goodbye with a kiss, but after so much pain, you started to doubt if he was really opening up to you, or it was only the reflection his exterior facade.
Either way, life goes on, and so did you.

Language (Part 6 - Final)
Part 1 / Part 2 / Part 3 / Part 4 / Part 5
Pairing: Loki x female reader (Y/N)
Summary: Captain Rogers thinks you curse far too much at work so he came up with a way for each word to cost you fifty cents no matter where you are in the Tower. You are desperate for it to stop and go to Loki to see if he has a spell or trick that can help you outsmart J.A.R.V.I.S.
Warnings: swearing lol... obviously?
A/N: Thank you everyone who read this series! I'm sorry this last part took me so long to get to but I hope you all love it!! 💚💚 I'll be working on finishing the Night Nurse now then going back through my requests! 🙂
You watch anxiously when Thor pulls away from his younger brother. "Remove the spell from Y/N," the God of Thunder demands.
"To do that I will need the vial," Loki counters and takes another step forward, closing the distance between them. Loki reaches for it but Thor pulls his hand away, holding it just out of reach.
If you weren't so concerned about the safety of the vial, you might be able to appreciate how much they simply look like bickering brothers and not two Gods arguing over your voice.
Tony steps in, "Thor, give it back to the sea witch."
Loki glares at Tony, "I do not have the patience for you today tin man."
He looks back at Thor and without a word, he flicks his wrist, sending his seidr towards his brother. The green cloud surrounds his hand in an attempt to pull the vial free but Thor clenches his hand and pulls violently against Loki's magic.
"Stop!" Natasha yells.
Your eyes go wide and you cover your mouth with both hands as the vial slips free from Thor's grasp. Loki's seidr doesn't react fast enough and the small glass vial falls to the floor at the older Asgardian's feet, shattering into pieces.
You lower your hands slowly, watching the cloud of gray smoke quickly evaporate into nothing before you can even think to move. Your hand runs slowly up and down your throat, vaguely listening to the reactions of the team around you.
"Y/N... I did not think... I am so sorry-" Thor tries to apologize but you don't look at him.
"No... this was not supposed to happen," Loki runs his fingers through his hair, his expression full of guilt and concern but in an instant he becomes angry. "Thor! I told you not to touch the vial, why do you never listen to me? Look what you have done!"
"What I have done?" Thor asks, taking a step towards his younger brother. "None of this would have happened if you hadn't been so reckless with your magic."
Your attention finally shifts from the broken glass to the two Gods. Walking between the brothers, you interrupt their argument. You point angrily at Thor and ask, "Why the fuck couldn't you just listen to Loki, for once!? All you had to do was not touch the damn thing and you fucking broke it!" Your mouth moves quickly and you breathe harder but you don't make a sound. You turn to look at Loki and slowly mouth, "I never should have trusted you. I knew you were fucking useless."
Loki lowers his head, putting his hands behind his back to fidget with them while Thor rubs his beard, trying to think of something to say to you.
"Y/N, don't worry," Natasha says, keeping her voice calm and level as she pulls you into a supportive hug. Over your shoulder she glares at the trickster, "Loki is going to fix this."
"Damn right he is," Tony agrees angrily. "How the hell could you have screwed up this badly?"
"I do not see why all of the blame is being put on me," Loki takes a small step away from the team. "Thor is the careless oaf that dropped the vial after I specifically instructed him not to touch it."
"I was just trying to help Y/N," Thor defends his actions.
"As was I," Loki argues back.
"By stealing her voice?" Clint asks.
"I will remind you one final time, I did not steal anything," Loki clarifies. "How was I to know someone," he glares at Thor, "Would be foolish enough to disregard my very direct warning and break the vial?"
"What was the plan then?" Bruce asks as everyone gathers closer.
"It was supposed to be a simple trick. We thought once you saw the lengths Y/N went through to avoid swearing, Captain Rogers would turn off that ridiculous computer program to appease her," Loki explains and you nod along as he speaks, confirming that was the plan. "As soon as it was off, I was going to return her voice."
Loki turns to face you, "I am truly sorry Y/N. I never meant for this to happen-"
Steve interrupts Loki's apology, "I can't believe you trusted him to do this Y/N, you know how unreliable he is. Who's to say he would have given you your voice back even if this didn't all go to sideways?"
"Whatever other sea witches do when they steal voices," Bruce mumbles.
"Of course I would have honored our agreement. What would I do with Y/N's voice?" Loki asks.
"I am not a sea witch," Loki reminds them all angrily. "I am a god you pathetic mortal," he looks directly at Bruce who takes a step behind Clint.
"So if you weren't going for the shittiest impression of Ursula possible, why the hell would you take her voice if you knew it could be lost so fucking easily?" Tony swears at Loki.
Before Loki can answer, J.A.R.V.I.S activates three times in close secession. Each time it says, "Tony, fifty cents has been deducted from your upcoming paycheck as you are in violation of SHIELD's Inappropriate Language Policy, per Captain Rogers' orders."
"Oh, shit," Clint says and J.A.R.V.I.S charges him a second time. "Steve your little project is going rogue."
"What the hell was that?" Clint asks, looking at the holographic display.
"Clint, fifty cents has been deducted from your upcoming paycheck as you are in violation of SHIELD's Inappropriate Language Policy, per Captain Rogers' orders," J.A.R.V.I.S. announces.
Steve ignores the computer and Clint, grabbing Loki by the collar with one hand, "You will help Y/N and you will do it now. Is that understood?" You look quickly between Steve and Loki, biting your lip nervously.
"I may have a spell that can restore her voice," Loki pulls himself free from Steve and straightens his clothing. "But I cannot think with all of you swearing at me and threatening me."
"I haven't started threatening you," Tony says.
"Maybe you'll think faster if the hulk was around," Bruce adds, finding his confidence once more.
"That is not necessary," Loki says, his expression switching from annoyance to nervousness at the mention of the hulk.
"Then you better start fucking thinking," Tony says.
J.A.R.V.I.S activates, charging Tony again.
"If you wish for me to think here, I must insist you silence that useless program," Loki waves his hand at the holographic display.
"Steve, seriously shut that damn thing off," Tony says to the captain as J.A.R.V.I.S repeats the announcement.
Steve groans, "Fine. J.A.R.V.I.S, disregard SHIELD's Inappropriate Language Policy."
J.A.R.V.I.S confirms the order from Steve.
"Are you happy now?" Steve asks Loki, his arms folded across his chest.
Loki asks, "It has been turned off for everyone?"
"Yes," Steve nods.
"Even Y/N?" Loki looks over at you.
"Yes, not that it matters unless you can figure out how to get her to talk again," Steve answers.
A smirk creeps across Loki's lips and you take a step towards him. "I can't believe that worked," you tell him.
"I told you it would work," Loki responds proudly.
(This morning)
"Ah brother, what a pleasant surprise," Loki smiles when he opens the door to a very confused looking Thor.
"Um... it is?" Thor asks, immediately feeling concerned by the God of Mischief's greeting.
"Of course," he opens the door wider and gestures inside the apartment. "Won't you join Y/N and me for a moment?"
"Okay..." Thor shrugs as he enters Loki's apartment. "Wait, Y/N is still here?"
"Morning Thor," you wave at him from the couch. He looks from you back to his brother and you don't miss the smirk of approval he gives Loki. You push aside the awkward feeling that Thor assumes you've slept with his brother and ask him to sit.
"I would prefer to stand, if you don't mind," Thor refuses your suggestion politely. "I sense my brother is playing some game with me and I am not willing to relax quite yet."
Loki smirks, "You are finally becoming more perceptive, but you are not the intended victim this time."
"I'm not?" Thor asks, his shock obvious in both his voice and his expression.
You try not to laugh, knowing he probably walked in here expecting the worst. "We need your help to pull off our plan actually," you tell him.
"I would love to help you, Y/N," he replies then he looks at Loki, "But I am not sure I want to help him."
"That hurts brother," Loki's smirk doesn't fade. "Would it change your mind if we offered a trade for your assistance?"
"I'm listening," Thor answers cautiously.
"I know where your wallet is," you tell Thor.
"I believe you have something of mine," Thor holds his hand out towards his younger brother. Loki nods and with a flick of his wrist, the missing wallet appears in a flash of green in Thor's open palm. The older Asgardian frowns, "Where is my money?"
"The deal was for me to return your wallet," Loki grins. "Which I have. You did not specify that you wished to have your money returned as well."
"I assumed that would have been obvious," Thor groans and tucks his empty wallet safely away.
"Wait... so the three of you planned this whole thing just to get Y/N out of being charged for swearing?" Steve asks, placing his hands on his hips in annoyance.
"Midgardians have a saying about making assumptions, I believe," Loki says and you roll your eyes at him. He chuckles and adds, "Consider it a charitable contribution to Y/N's swearing fund."
"Oh, you have to be fucking kidding me," Tony says, throwing his hands in the air.
"I only wanted my property returned to me," Thor insists, holding his hands up and taking a step away from you and Loki to avoid any blame.
"And what's your excuse, Laufeyson?" Steve turns his attention to the God of Mischief.
"Do I need one?" Loki doesn't seem phased by Steve and Tony's disapproving looks.
"You know you are not permitted to use your magic on any member of SHIELD or Stark Industries," the captain reminds him of the rules. "This was reckless and-"
"He was just trying to help me out," you cut off Steve and offer a defense for Loki which only brings everyone's focus back to you.
"By using his magic to trick us into overriding a SHIELD policy?" Steve asks you.
"Yeah..." you fidget with your fingers nervously. Loki might have been prepared to face the wrath of the team as calmly as ever but you hadn't thought this part of the plan all the way through. You had been focused on having the swearing policy reversed and not much else.
"Y/N," Tony says your name and you can hear the disappointment in his tone. He folds his arms across his chest. You recognize his expression, it means he is getting ready to deliver a long speech about how he expects better from you.
"I... well..." you stumble over your words then makes eye contact with Loki for a brief moment. He looks towards the door and back at you, signaling that it is time to go. "Well, this was a lot of fun but I've got shit to do... somewhere else."
You barely register that J.A.R.V.I.S is still quiet as the two of you quickly move towards the exit. Loki pushes open the door, ignoring Steve and Tony telling you they are not done with either of you yet. He laughs when the sound of their voices is cut off by the door closing and walks with you towards the elevators.
"You played your part excellently," he complements you, pushing the call button. "You are a natural trickster."
"Thanks," you feel yourself blush and look down, hoping he doesn't notice your red cheeks. "You and Thor were pretty good too."
"My brother has his uses," he says. "But do not tell him I said so," he adds quickly, looking at you.
"Oooh, I'm definitely gonna tell him," you laugh.
"Turning you into a frog is still on the table," he says with a wicked grin.
"I think you would hate that more than I would," you smile back and he furrows his brows in confusion. "I'd just hop along after you all day and sit on your pillow, ribbiting in your ear while you tried to sleep. You would turn me into a human again in no time," you snap your fingers.
He laughs at your response and shakes his head, "It seems I need to find a new way to threaten you, hmm?"
"Yeah... or you could just be nicer to me," you shrug.
"I'll think about it," he smirks.
"Don't try to act like I'm not your best friend after last night," you say sarcastically.
The doors to the elevator finally open. You step inside first and select the floor your office is on. Loki doesn't move to select the floor his office, apartment or training room are on and you realize he is following you.
"That reminds me... your question from earlier this morning," he says when the doors close. You turn to face him, remembering when you asked if you were friends now or something you hadn't defined yet. "I do not wish to be your friend," he informs you and you look at your shoes before you have a chance to read his expression.
"Oh... Okay, yeah, that's fine," you feel your heart sink in your chest. You knew you shouldn't have gotten your hopes up that Loki would still want to be around you. He had done what he promised and aggravated the whole team in the process, that was good enough for him.
"I would very much like to take you on a date though," he says and you look up, seeing him smile at you.
"Wait, really?" you ask, sounding more surprised than excited.
He clears his throat, looking unsure of himself and asks, "Would that be something you are interested in?"
You smile and nod, his smile returning quickly, "Yeah, absolutely." You laugh when he relaxes and add, "But we need to work on how you phrase stuff cause it sounded like you were tired of being around me, not that you were going to ask me on a fucking-"
"Y/N, seventy five cents has been deducted from your upcoming paycheck as you are in violation of SHIELD's Inappropriate Language Policy, per Captain Rogers' orders," J.A.R.V.I.S. announces from a speaker in the elevator.
You look at the holographic screen that appears in stunned silence, the rest of your sentence lost. Loki chuckles and says, "It seems they not only reinstated your punishment but raised the rate per word."
"I can't believe this..." you shake your head in disbelief. "Ugh! This is fucking-" you feel a rant of swear words getting ready to be unleashed.
Loki's arm wraps around your waist and he pulls your chest flush to his, the swift action shocking you into silence. He smiles at you, cupping your cheek gently, still holding you close with his other hand on your waist. "I have thought of one more trick to help you," he says, his lips coming closer to yours.
You giggle nervously, "If you say anything about frogs..."
He laughs and shakes his head then clears his throat. "J.A.R.V.I.S, disregard SHIELD's Inappropriate Language Policy," Loki repeats Steve's order in the captain's voice and J.A.R.V.I.S confirms the command. In his own voice he says, "I am not sure how long it will take them to notice so you might want to get in all the swear words you can now."
"I knew you liked me," you smile up at him, his arm still holding you close to his chest.
"I tried very hard not to," he says, his fingers running gently down your cheek to your chin. He tilts your head slightly up and brings his lips to yours, kissing you deeply. You grip the fabric on the back of his shirt when he takes a step forward, pressing your back to the wall of the elevator.
The elevator stops much too soon and Loki smiles down at you when he breaks the kiss. As the doors open, you sigh and rest your head on Loki's chest, "I can't wait until Steve and Tony find me."
"Tell them to come speak to me," Loki runs his fingers through your hair.
You laugh, looking up at him, "Why, so you can turn them into frogs?"
"Would it make you feel better?" he asks as you walk out of the elevator together.
"A little," you tell him with a shrug and he grins mischievously.

Under his influence (Post Avengers! Loki x female reader)
Read chapter 13 here // Series Masterlist
Chapter 14
Summary : Loki wants to take you to the tower with him, you have a strange dream about you two.
Warning: 18+, mention of sex, mention of psychological torture, angst, insecurities, self deprecating behaviour, cute aggression, also Melissa again
“Come stay with me at the tower while you’re healing”
"Wait what?" You propped yourself on your elbow as he put forward his proposition so he placed his hands on your shoulder.
"Alright, first of all, lie back down my darling you need rest" he laid you down, tucked you under the cover and kissed your forehead, the small adorable smile on his face was your undoing, you didn't know why but the gesture made you want to squeeze him to death. So you did. You cupped his cheeks and kissed him as furiously as you could, an aggressive growl escaped your throat and once you pulled away you found him staring at you.
"What just happened?" He chuckled
"I had the urge to smother you because you're so cute, it's called cute aggression, it's an actual thing, get used to it because I'm going to do it alot because you're so cute it hurts my brain and gets me all mad that I can't just squeeze you until you're all pulpy" his mouth gaped in shock for a moment before he leaned down and kissed you "You'll forget what I just said right?I'm on heavy drugs"
"I will try, it's just hard to do so after learning that you have violent fantasies about killing me because I'm so cute" he air quoted the word cute and it made you smile.
"Not killing, it's just me wanting to squish you until you're all flat and pulpy, I want you all squished together, I also want to bite you..like this part right here" you trailed your fingers over his developed deltoids "Ohhhhh goooodd" there it was, the animalistic growl again and it made him laugh.
"Do it then"
"I'm not going to bite you..it will hurt lo"
"Hurt me? I am god you dainty little creature, you can't hurt me, go on, you know you want to"
He leaned down and kissed on your neck, pushing his delts right onto your lips so you grabbed the bulging muscle to bite with your teeth.
"God you're delicious" you licked a stripe to soothe the bite, there wasn't even a tooth mark there but you still wanted to soothe him. The action got him all hot and bothered though.
"Norns darling you have to do that to me whenever we are being naughty"
"Yeah you liked that?" you giggled and he kissed you lovingly, maybe he was getting the case of cute aggression too, unfortunately he wasn't going to act on his fantasies, not so soon atleast.
"You don't think I'm weird?" You asked him as you caressed his cheek,
"So what if you are"
"Yeah that's not a deal breaker?" Your fingers caressed his cheeks so he smiled
"No, that is a deal clincher for me"
"Awnnn baby" your arms curled around his neck as you kissed him softly "Oh my god I almost forgot about the proposition, did you really ask me that or I was hallucinating?"
He shifted a little to the side to prop himself on his elbow and used his hand to support his head.
"You did not hallucinate, i want you to come with me"
"Really? I mean we haven't even started it yet" you joked and it took him a second to understand it, he closed his eyes as he laughed a little "How's it going to work lo? I mean you can't just hide me in Avengers tower, they'll know and how would I even go there, what about my work?"
"I can definitely keep you hidden there, leave that worrying upto me, Thor will take you the way he does me and you can not work in this condition can you?" He answered all your questions and left you with a question to answer in return.
"I know I can't..but..lo..i ..what about my mom, she's going to flip if she finds out about this"
"Then do not tell her"
"Are you sure about this? I mean isn't it too soon for us to ..you know "
"What's wrong with two friends sharing a room? Haven't we done that already?"
"We have.. I just..i am kind of scared, I am not good with such situations, it's fine here because it's my home, i know everything here, I can go wherever I want and do whatever I want..I'm just so anxious about it" you mumbled hurriedly.
"I know..I understand sweetheart, I do" he placed his fingers between your hair to massage your scalp gently. You really wanted to go with him, afterall it was just a matter of a week and he wasn't asking you to leave earth, you can do this right?
"What will I do when you're busy?"
"Are you considering this?" He smiled
"I want to be there with you lo, i really do.. I'm just terrified"
"Well I promise you love I will take the best care of you, you trust me?"
"Ofcourse I do"'
"I'll be there for you i promise, and when I'm not, he will be there"
He waved his fingers and you gasped as you saw another Loki in front of the bed.
"Who is that?"
"It's a clone"
"A clone?"
"Now I have to be around him in order to control him but even if I'm not atleast you get a life sized replica of me with whom you can live out your aggressive fantasies" you chuckled as he said that.
"Hello darling" the clone smiled at you so you waved a hello at him.
"I don't understand…how? How would I know that he's the clone and you're not, what if you're clone and he's the real one"
"Wow i have never been asked that, I made him and I can make him go away ..like this" he waved his fingers and the clone was gone before he brought him back again.
"He can't do that..see, Loki can you send me away?" He asked his clone
"No my liege, you are the who controls me" the clone answered
"Seee"
"Okay so he's like a robot"
"In a way yes"
"Okay ummm.. I don't want him..I mean i appreciate you thinking of that for me but I don't want a clone, I only want you and I'll wait for you to come back to me, those fantasies are reserved for you" you cupped his cheeks and he smiled before he kissed you softly, he waved his fingers and his clone was gone to wherever he came from.
Next morning when you woke up, the pain was somehow worse, your ankle felt swollen, the fall had made your ankle twist horribly and you were wondering how it wasn't broken.
He laid you down on the bed after you had showered and when you winced he immediately sat down on the edge and started to take the bandage off from your swollen ankle.
"Hurts?" He asked
"Yeah, those meds are useless" your eyes teared up and you could see the look of worry on his face, he rubbed his fingers over the area to massage gently, that worked like a charm and you immediately felt ten times better. What would you have done without him?
"Oh lokii...thank you" he wrapped your ankle carefully before he crawled up and kissed you.
"You still want to go with me right?"
"Yeah ..let me just talk to my mom, I'll tell her that Mrs Geller will help me"
"Mhnmm I will go inform Mrs Geller of our evil scheme" you smiled as he kissed your forehead and left to go see Mrs Geller, you picked up your phone and sighed before you called your mom. As soon as she picked she started to yell at you.
"I had called you several times..where were you? Stephen said that he won't be able to see you, what happened?" She asked you.
"Umm did he tell you why?" You questioned her and she went quiet for a moment.
"He didn't tell me, I asked" her voice lowered down.
"Well I had an accident and my leg is sprained badly so–"
"What? How did you get into an accident?" She was yelling again.
"Just some guy on a motorbike speeding"
"Oh honey, okay I'm going to talk to David and I'll be there as soon as possible" your eyes widened as she said that.
"Mom no…look I'm fine, it's just a sprain and Mrs Geller will take care of me, you don't have to come all the way and especially since you were just here"
"My child is hurt and I want to be there, I am coming" you squeezed your eyes as she said that firmly, that would dampen your plans with Loki.
"You don't have to mum i promise, I'll come see you when I'm healed, it's been a while anyways since I have been there " she sighed deeply as you said that.
"Well, okay, was he there when the accident happened?"
"Yes he took me to the hospital ".
"Ok good, I have told you so many times to keep your eyes on the road but you never listen" your eyes teared up as you noticed the concern in her eyes
"I know mommy I'm sorry but don't worry I'm fine"
Loki came back so you smiled at him, he did notice your sullen face though so he sat down next to you and wrapped his arm around your shoulder in a comforting manner.
"Okay mom i have to go help Mrs Geller with a recipe..I'll talk to you later okay?"
As you hung up you finally sniffled so he placed his fingers on your chin to make you look at him.
"What happened? What did she say?" You wiped your tears before you started to speak.
"You know some kids have parents that are just too good to be true and then some kids have parents that shouldn't have procreated?" He nodded as you questioned "Well it's easier to either love or hate them fully but then there are my parents and I'm talking about my own father here, not the step dad, they're so critical and anything I do in life it's never enough for them but they love me you know, everytime I'm hurt they get hurt, they get worried sick, and it's not easy for me to just hate them even though they make me want to hate them when they're constantly demeaning me and my life choices"
He wiped your tears as they shedded incessantly from your eyes,
"You don't have to hate them sweetheart, they love you and you love them but they also want you to live a life you don't want to live, they want you to carry forward their dreams and live up to their expectations, it's burdening and it's also reasonable for you to hold a certain amount of resentment and you need have that sort of boundary so you can protect yourself, you're not doing anything wrong" your eyes welled up even more as he said that.
"Really? Because I always feel guilty that I'm not who they want me to be and I have wished so many times that they could have had the daughter that they really wanted" a broken sob escaped your lips so he cupped your cheeks and kissed you softly.
"But it's not your fault, if they can not get rid of their picture perfect image of you then it's not your responsibility to continue to appease them my little one. You are absolutely divine just the way you are, I'd never ever change anything about you, not even a single quirk because all of them together makes you who you are, this sweet little princess right here is nothing short of a goddess and if I had the power, I'd build a new realm for her, her own realm that she could rule over, I'd have worshippers willing to beg on their feet just to have a glimpse of her"
The hiccuped cries clenched his heart as you hugged him as tightly as you could. You once read that the term I love you were the sweetest words of endearment a man could use. Yeah right. Beat that.
"What did I do to find you?" He chuckled as you questioned him.
"I ask myself that very question ever since I have met you"
He wrapped his arms around you and held you until you were calm.
As Thor came, he initially flipped out when Loki told him about the secret plan but then he was convinced pretty easily.
"How are we doing this? I'll take you first and then Loki?"
"Why can't you take us both?' Loki questioned him
"I have one free arm, kindly do the mathematics"
"Well take me first then, that way I'll be there to greet her"
"Awnnnn" you and Thor both made the noise at the same time.
"Be careful with her, she's hurt as it is"
Loki warned him and Thor nodded.
Thor took Loki first and he was back in less than one minute. Damn how fast was this hammer ?
"Ummm thank you for doing this, i hope karma will pay you for this in sexual services"
You mumbled nervously, you had never been flighted by a god with a hammer, it was surprising you weren't saying something more absurd. He opened his mouth to retort but he came up with nothing, what was he even supposed to say?
"I'll have to wrap my arm around your waist for safety, Is that alright?" He asked you so you hummed in agreement.
"Do you wrap them around Loki's?"
"He won't let me, he grabs onto my shoulder but he's a god like me so i trust him to not fall down"
"Understood "
You will never be able to describe what you felt when he flew you away with him, it happened in seconds but it felt like you were falling from a cliff and having the worst nightmare of your life. As you felt the ground beneath your feet Loki's arms wrapped around you to keep you steady.
"Are you alright darling?"
"Yeahhh just …dooozzzyyy" he smiled as you said that. He quickly conjured a blanket and wrapped it around you, when you looked down you couldn't see your body, it had turned invisible.
"Holy mother of maple syrup toast ..what did you do?" He smiled before he cupped your cheeks to peck your lips.
"Cloak of invisibility, when mother gifted me this on my 80th birthday. I never understood the use of it, i was learning the invisibility charm myself but I think I know what it can be used for now " he explained excitedly but you were still in shock.
"Cloak of invisibility? Like …Harry Potter?"
He looked at you confused before he wrapped you completely in the blanket and he disappeared too, he then picked you up in his arms because you couldn't walk on your own.
"Is she visible in any way?" He asked Thor so Thor fixed the lower portion where your legs were visible still.
The cloak was transparent so you looked around as he took you inside, your eyes widened at the infrastructure, you have never been into a place like this, and that's when you realized that you were actually in New York City at the moment.
Somehow he was able to transport you to his room without bumping into anyone, he sat you down on the bed before he took the cloak away from you.
"Okay the hard part is done right?" You asked him and he smiled
Looking around his room you noticed that it was the size of your apartment, infact bigger than that, he didn't have many furnitures but his bed was thrice the size of your bed, there was a full sized couch in the middle of the room with a tv on the front, his room also had a balcony, there was an elegant looking dresser next to his closet, the intricate designs and the fine woodwork was enough of an indication that it was something from his vault because it didn't really go with the rest of the modern setup.
"I will bring us food"
"You're leaving me alone.. please don't leave me alone" you clutched onto his arms so he leaned forward to kiss you.
"I will be back in a flash i promise" he assured you.
"Okay"
As he left you got up and hopped your way to the dresser, you sat down on the dressing stool and looked at yourself in the mirror. Jesus What happened to your hair? Must be the Ride on the Mobonil.
You picked up the comb to brush your hair but then put it back down feeling as if you'd taint the pristine comb with your greasy hair, there were several bottles of cologne on his dresser and they all smelled like him.
There was also an attached drawer so you pulled on the handle to open it, there was a picture of you in there, your eyes teared up as you picked it up, it wasn't a photograph but a sketch, you didn't even know when he had made it..
You closed the drawer and stood back up, that's when the door opened making you jump in your spot a little. He closed the door and then he conjured a huge tray out of nowhere,
"You know I'm just one person right?" He chuckled as you said that
"Well I brought those Snacks as you midgardians like to call it, you can reap the benefits whenever you're ravenous"
"I'm going back even fatter aren't i?" He tilted his head as if you had said something completely outrageous.
"You're not fat darling "
"And you're not pretty" he shook his head before he walked towards you and kissed the moment of insecurity out of you.
After eating you laid down with him on the bed to snuggle him
"God this is nice"
"It definitely is, isn't it?"
"I feel drowsy"
"Must be those medicines darling, care for a sleep?"
"Yes please"
He caressed your back until you fell asleep in his arms, this is the most impulsive thing you've ever done in your life so far, you still couldn't believe that you were in New York City. If five months ago someone had played you this exact scenario in front of you, you would have laughed uncontrollably.
You always dreaded your 30th birthday then how come it was going superbly then all your years before?
You were at a party but you couldn't recognise the place, you could see the people dancing around you, they seemed a bit blurry though as if you were in a hazy dream. You were tired of dancing so you whispered something into the ears of the woman in front of you and made your way to the bar to get a drink.
You sat down next to a gentleman in a suit black, you both were in matching colours as if you came here together, he was attractive, he probably was the most attractive man you had seen in your life, his raven hair went past his shoulders and when he looked at you, those green eyes bored right into your soul. You also felt as if you had seen him before.
"Sorry i didn't mean to stare, i felt as if i had seen you somewhere" he chuckled as you said that, that mere smile gave you butterflies. What was happening to you? This wasn't like you at all. You had never felt such an attraction towards a man before,
"Perhaps you have seen me on news, I invaded your planet with an army a few years ago" your eyes widened in realization as he said that.
"Oh my god you're Loki" you said to him and he turned his head to look at you, his lips sipped on the neat whiskey he had ordered for himself.
"For a moment I was afraid my popularity has plummeted around here" you let out a nervous laughter as he said that.
"Noo i.. I read about you at the time, my ex husband actually made me see why we were supposed to hate you"
"Well I hope your feelings are not the same anymore" you gulped nervously as the intense eye contact made you feel flushed. Your cheeks felt warm.
"So what are you doing here?"
"I was summoned here for a crucial discussion"
"Ohhh" you mumbled.
"I watched you dancing over there"
"You did?"
"You have a way with your hips don't you?" Was he flirting with you? Oh god it's been years since a man this attractive had flirted with you. A man you actually wanted to flirt with you.
"Ummm well i wanted to be a dancer once"
"I can tell, makes me think of other situations where you could show me how those hips would work" you bit on your lips subconsciously at the comment and he leaned closer to you, he placed his fingers on your chin to make you look at him and brought his lips to your ears, if he was some other guy you would have pushed him away by now but for some reason you felt hypnotized by his mere presence, everything about him enchanted you, you felt as if you were under his influence, his cologne attacked your senses and all you wanted to do was kiss him.
You had never felt such scorching heat with someone in your life, you never thought you'd ever get to feel it either, you didn't think it existed for you.
"Care for a dance?" He whispered in your ears and you could only whine in response which he took as a yes. His fingers laced with yours as he dragged you to a secluded corner of the hall.
Baby, you can
Ride it, ooh, yeah
Bring it over to my place
You moved slowly with him to the rhythm of the music, he placed his hands on your lower back and the action made you gasp, dipping you down slowly before he pulled you up smushing you so close to him in a moment, your chest were pressed to him, you were too close to man you barely knew.
And you be like
"Baby, who cares?"
But I know you care
Bring it over to my place
Your hips rolled in circles and hands curled around his neck, what was this feeling? Your lips were so close to him but he wasn't kissing you, even though you wanted him to just kiss you desperately.
You don't know what you did, did to me
Your body lightweight speaks to me
I don't know what you did, did to me
Your body lightweight speaks to me
"Goddd" You whispered and a small smile curved the corner of his mouth.
"There you are i have been looking for you"
You heard the voice so you pulled away from the man you had met a few minutes ago. Even after the divorce was finalized you still felt as if you owed him your loyalty,
"What happened?" You looked at him and he snickered in response.
"I was talking to him, I called him here to discuss something important"
You directed your attention towards Loki and he smiled at you before he looked you up and down from head to toe then he leaned into you to press a goodbye kiss on your cheek,
"See me again sometime later?"
You nodded as he said that, he walked towards your ex husband and went along with him leaving you to ponder over the question.
Now What did Stephen want from Loki?
You woke up feeling out of breath, you put your head up from top of his head to breathe properly, he was still sleeping holding you like a baby.
What the hell was that dream about? You couldn't even imagine marrying someone, let alone marrying that arrogant weiner Stephen Strange and why were you talking to Loki as if you two had never met?
Well it was probably just a stupid dream, you have had such vivid dreams before, maybe it was the result of your constant daydreaming combined with the pain medication you were taking.
Loki woke up a few moments later and pulled away from you a little, so he could look at you properly.
"What time is it?" You asked him and he chuckled before he looked at the clock he had on his bedside drawer.
"It's 6 in the evening, I missed the training session so I am afraid i have to go do that now" he kissed you softly before he pulled away.
"Mmmm I'll miss you"
"So will I, I shall return in two hours and I want you to keep this in case you'd need it" he conjured the cloak of invisibility and handed it to you.
He kissed you goodbye and you barely lasted three minutes before the boredom kicked in. The meds had kicked in and you didn't feel pain, so you wanted to go see the tower and everything else. You got off the bed, wrapped the cloak around you and looked at yourself in the mirror to make sure you were completely covered. You sneaked outside and Loki had told you that the training room was on the 30th floor so you sneakily pressed your finger on the elevator button.
"Let's go watch those boys fight"
You heard a voice and your heartbeat sped up, you looked to the side and you saw the person you despised the most, it was Melissa, damn she looked even more gorgeous in person, luckily for you her personality stank. There was black widow by her side, as well as Pepper Potts, the CEO of Stark industries. There was one other woman as well that you didn't recognise.
"Wait up for me" you heard Thor's voice, and it made you more nervous, you just hoped none of them would bump into you in the elevator.
As soon as the door opened you got in and pressed yourself into the corner,
"I see you people met Lady Jane already"
He chuckled nervously and they all hummed. Ahhh that was Jane, his mortal girlfriend.
As the 30th floor arrived you followed them from behind, an access passcode was required to enter the training room so you were glad these people followed you.
You spotted Loki stretching his arms, he was in a gray shirt and a fitted workout pants, why did he have to look so sexy?
"Had no idea we were having an audience today" he mumbled in frustration, just the sight of Melissa made him fume with anger. You also saw Hulk, Hawkeye and Iron man there.
"You know what Loki, why don't we fight one on one today? No magic, no gimmicks, just me and you as who we are"
Brave words coming from someone whose powers were injected in him you thought.
"As who we are? Captain, I do not reckon you can handle me as who i am"
"Bring it on Loki, let's see what you got"
"Can you guys just fight?" Hulk intervened and you were so thankful for that.
Loki took off his shirt in one quick motion, you were so glad he was yours and you were definitely going to lick those tiny chest hairs later, your thoughts were utterly filthy. Why did he make you so horny? You saw Melisaa biting her lips and squeezing her legs at the sight of your sexy half naked boyfriend cum best friend. She really needed to watch herself.
You snapped back to reality though when you heard the sound of collective gasps emerging from the people around you.
When he talked about the real him, he meant it. You saw him transforming into someone else, he was taller, he was bigger and he was all blue. You noticed the rough ridges that covered him from head to toe, the pants he had on tightened around his body, so close to ripping if you were being honest. The stark difference you noticed was his head, he no longer had his raven hair, he was bald but his head wasn't smooth like a human being, his skull was protruded with even thicker ridges. He didn't even look like himself from a distance. He was in his Frost giant form.
"Ewwww what is that..that's disgusting..I need to leave…I'm sooo scared" Melissa got hyper and all you wanted to do was rip her tongue out of her mouth. How dare she? He looked at her and that's when you noticed his Ruby colored eyes, you also noticed the tears in them, your eyes moistened too as you looked at his sad little face, that was your lo, your soft little lo and he didn't deserve for anyone to be so cruel with him.
"What is this?" Captain asked him and Loki averted his gaze to look at him before he snickered, his jaw were clenched in anger.
"You wanted me to be who I am. No magic, no gimmicks right? Here I am, so fight me now"
You knew this wasn't going to end well for Captain Rogers.

To Have and To Hold - Chapter 8
THaTH Masterlist Complete Masterlist
Summary: Loki and Violet reunite. Violet gives birth. A/N: I wanna give a big thanks to @michelleleewise and @lokisgoodgirl for being my BETA readers and for helping me along with my unhinged ideas. Pairing: Loki x OFC/Reader Word Count: Over 1.8K Tags/Warnings: Pregnancy. Early labor. Pain. Dividers by: @firefly-graphics
The pain was blinding. Your vision was fading around the edges as you tried to focus on something, anything that might relieve the pressure taking over your lower body. It was as if God himself wrapped his hand around your pelvis and back and squeezed. It came in full force, and He was not giving you any mercy.
You were taken to a brightly lit room. There were many people in black orderly uniforms standing alongside the walls, ready and willing to be of service. Two of them tended to you and took you away from Thor’s embrace. Hands were flying everywhere as they stripped you and placed you in a lightweight silk shift.
“Loki? Where’s Loki?” you cried out.
“Thor, fetch your brother,” Frigga whispered.
“But Father would never allow that,” he answered.
“I’ll deal with your father. You get Loki here any way you can. Do you hear me?”
“Yes, Mother.” Thor nodded as he ran out of the room.
“It’s too early. It’s too early,” you kept repeating to Bruce who was holding onto your hand.
“Vee, it’s gonna be ok.” Bruce squeezed your hand, and rubbed your shoulders, comforting you the only way he knew.
“Why…how, Bruce? It’s too early. Please…” you cried. “My baby.”
“I…I don’t know, Vee. But right now, let’s focus on getting that baby out.” He nodded, his nerves betraying him. “I’m sorry I’m not Loki. But I’ll be here for as long as you need me, ok?” You nodded as you breathed through your mouth.
In. Out. In. Out. The occasional screams of agony tear from your lungs as you try to wrap your head around what’s happening.
“Lady Violet, my name is Gilda. I’ll be your midwife today.” The woman said to you gently. You nodded at her while keeping Bruce right by your side. “We have set up the healer’s bath as a birthing pool for you, milady. The soul forge on top would be able to help us assess the baby and help you along. All right?” You nodded and agreed. “Ok let’s get you in.” Gilda went to your opposite side and helped walk you along to the bath.
“Do Asgardians normally give water births?” you asked, your curiosity winning over your wincing pain.
“Some do, milady. However, it is the preferred method of the Jotunns. And since…” Gilda looked up at you, contrite. “I apologize for being so bold, milady.”
“That’s all right. Since the baby is half Jotunn, you thought it would be significant to honor this method. I appreciate the fore…aaaahhhhhgggg…the forethought,” you screamed.
“Your contractions are getting closer together. Let’s get the soul forge over you and we can begin.”
“No! Wait! Loki. I need Loki. Please,” you begged.
“There isn’t much time, milady.”
Thor ran down the corridor. Beings of all shapes and sizes hollered and screamed at the sight of the god of thunder. Some were loud and angry for being put in there by the prince himself.
Thor descended one more flight of stairs until he found the one Loki was in privately. His cell was bright and furnished. A contrast to the dark and desperate appearance of Loki wallowing in the corner of the cell.
“Loki…” Thor huffed.
“You’re a tad too late, brother. The sentencing was done hours ago. It was stupendous!” Loki’s crooked smile didn’t reach his eyes.
“Loki!”
“I believe, Father tried to sell tickets…”
“LOKI! Will you shut your insufferable mouth for just one moment?!” Thor yelled and suddenly looked around to see if there were any guards in sight. Thor placed his hands on the lock by the door and the electric borders fell.
“What are you doing?” Loki asked confused. He got up, ready to run, not wanting to waste any time.
“I arrived with Bruce and Violet moments ago.”
“Violet is here?!” Loki asked shocked.
“Yes. She is in labor. Come I’ll fill you in on the way.”
“Where? What room?”
“Healer’s temple. The baths.” Thor said only seconds before Loki grabbed his arm and transported both of them into the hallway of the temple. Thor looked around to orient himself and pointed at the door to his left.
Loki didn’t waste any time as he opened the door and searched the vast room for you. Healers and dignitaries crowded around to bear witness to the birth of the next royal line. He heard you first before he saw you. Your screams of pain were loud and heartrending. “Darling.” He said pushing through the crowd. Running over to you. Reaching for you.
“Loki? Loki!” You held your hand out reaching for him too. And as you both crossed your fingers together and finally held each other, a sense of peace entered your body, making you lose your breath and hitch. He was here and he felt like home. Memories of those long nights sneaking behind the compound where his hands, the same hands that caressed your cheek and held your face, were now finally holding you.
Tears fell down your face as you held on to him tighter. You were afraid that if you let go, he would disappear. And you didn’t think you could handle that right now. “My beautiful Violet. I’m here. I’m here,” he whispered, leaning over you and kissing your forehead. Loki started looking around. “Who the hell are all these people? Did you want them here?”
“I…I don’t know. I just thought…they needed to be here…” you answered.
“Everybody out!” Loki screamed as he pointed to the door.
“All right, you heard him! Anybody who is not necessary, out!” Thor yelled, ushering other bystanders and chambermaids. Frigga hugged both you and Loki tightly before leaving the room. Thor clapped his brother on the shoulder for support and followed his mother out.
“Loki. I watched her as best I could.” Bruce came up to him.
He shook Bruce’s hand, “I am grateful to you, my friend. I can never thank you enough for all that you’ve done for me…and my family.” Loki said holding you tighter. Bruce gave you a small kiss on the cheek as he said goodbye too and left the room. The only people who were left were Gilda and two other nursemaids.
Loki stripped bare down to his tunic. “Are you ready, my heart?” He asked as he picked you up and carried you over to the large tub. You shook your head as more tears fell from your face. You held on to your stomach as he lowered you down into the warm water. You were submerged up to your chest in the shallow tub. The shimmering fabric of your tunic floated around you like a halo making you look ethereal.
Loki stepped in shortly after you, making you pause. He pulled you gently in front of him as he sat behind you and cradled you in between his legs.
“I’m never letting you go again.” He said adamantly in your ear. You relaxed into Loki, his strong hands cradling your hips. His lean frame protecting you, lifting you up and supporting you, reminding you that you didn’t have to do this alone.
“I’m sorry, Loki,” you started to cry. “I’m so sorry.” You repeated the words in between your screams. Over and over. Loki shushed you wiping your tears, a useless endeavor with his wet hands.
Gilda stood at the foot of the tub as the two maidens placed the soul forge above you. She took one look at it and was about to say something, but you had screamed at the top of your lungs. You grabbed Loki’s knees and squeezed. Your fingernails digging into his skin.
“Ok, milady. Push.” Gilda ordered, kneeling down and reaching into the water.
“I’ve got you, Violet,” Loki said into your ear. You nodded, answering his devotion as you screamed out some more. Your head rolled back as he wiped the sweat off your brows. “You’re doing great, my love.”
After what seemed like hours of pushing, and breathing, you felt momentary relief. You felt your life, all the love and knowledge you had acquired since your birth, pushed out of your body. Your breathing came in easier but was still ragged. You sobbed when you saw Gilda pull your babe from the waters and heard the first cries of your newborn child.
Loki held onto your face, kissing you endlessly, sighing soft praises to you. “You did it, my love. You did it. You are radiant, mother goddess.”
You cried, extending your arms out to hold your baby. Gilda handed it to one of the maidens. “Tressa, place this mirakel in one of the smaller soul forges.” Gilda turned to you, seeing your look of anger and disappointment. “Not yet, milady. You still have one more to deliver.”
“One more?!” both you and Loki yelled out instantaneously. As if it were being summoned, you felt another contraction. Gilda pointed to the soul forge atop of you. “I was going to mention it, but there was no time.” You both looked up, and the quantum field generator showed you an image of another small baby, still inside your body.
“Are you ready to push again?” Gilda smiled.
You nodded, as you barred down and held onto Loki’s hands. His nose running alongside your face, whispering nothing but encouraging words to you. “My darling Violet,” he chuckled. “Always giving me more love back than I give you.” He kissed your temple. “Two miracles in one. I will forever be grateful.” With those beautiful words, you felt his love. You pushed one last time and the third love of your life was born.
You were so exhausted. So overwhelmed. Gilda took the baby and handed it to another maiden who wrapped them and placed them lovingly in the soul forge along with their sibling.
“I want to see them,” you cried.
“You will, milady. But let’s clean you up first.” Gilda instructed. In an instant, Loki picked you up and transferred you over to another tub. The clean waters ran over you and Loki as he joined you.
“Gilda, please tend to the babies. I will look after my wife.” He said in a low voice.
“As you wish your highness,” she said smiling. “Shall I inform her majesty, the Queen?”
“Yes, please. But no visitors at this time.”
“Yes, your highness.” Gilda left to tend to the babies, while one of the handmaidens delivered Loki’s announcement.
Loki’s voice was soothing and gentle as he washed your body. He took great care with you and healed what he could. “I’m afraid the rest will have to be looked at by Gilda or perhaps one of the other healers. Do you feel all right, darling?” he asked.
With fatigue creeping its way to you and the events of the last two days overwhelming you, you couldn’t help but give in to the tiredness. You nodded your head and closed your eyes.
“Sleep, then. I’ll watch over you. I’ll watch over our family.”

Lost Together II
Sequel to Forbidden Lessons
Warnings: possible dark elements such as noncon, age gap, abuse of power, coercion, mentions of suicide, depression, pregnancy and abortion, violence. Y'all know I do it dark and spicy. You have warnings, use them.
Note: I never really intended for Thor to get his own little thing but here we are.
Thots, comments, screaming, and feedback are welcome and highly encouraged. Thank you. Thanks all for following along.
As promised, you have a bed to lay your head. A room to call your own. For now. You're not yet convinced this will be forever. Loki needed to hide you and do it quick. You would hate to overstay your welcome. Especially once there's a squalling baby attached to you.
You don't have much. Thor found some clothes for you, freshly washed along with the bedding. Some loose cardigans, a few oversized dresses and some wool stockings. He apologised profusely that it was all he could get for you. You assured him it was fine but he was less than content with your affirmation. You're flattered by his concern.
You settle in, exhausted but without reason. You didn't do much aside from read an old book about a woman on an ocean liner, travelling to a new life. Every time you tried to help, Thor firmly but gently ordered you to stop. You'd hate to disrespect his home so you obeyed.
Little by little, the displacement fades away and you doze off. You sink into a deep sleep, on your back, snoring loud enough to hear in your dreams. For once, you make it through the night without waking up, but when you do, you hear a sonorous rumbling from the hall.
It takes a moment to remember where you are. You stare at the blank ceiling and let your eyes travel down the wallpaper. You roll onto your side and sit up with a groan, folding back the flannel sheet and thick quilt. You rub your shoulders and stretch out your neck as you stand. Ugh, you feel gross.
You rub your stomach as it boils. It isn't going to settle. You put a cardigan over your borrow nightgown and twist back the creaky oval handle of the door. You step out into the hall, the floorboards cold against your soles.
You turn towards the bathroom and as you make your way down, the low deep mutter comes clearer. You slow down even as the constricting in your stomach gets more urgent.
The door is slightly ajar. You can see Thor's shadow moving on the other side. There's another bathroom on the first floor, you might-- nope, you can't make it.
You knock on the door, more frantic than you mean to as you clap a hand over your mouth.
"Huh!" Thor grunts and the door swings open. He holds a wide brush with a furrow in his forehead as he faces you. You wave your free hand as you desperately clamp your other palm against your lips.
He moves and ushers you in with his arm. You don't think of how cramped it is as you race past him and flip up the toilet lid. You drop to your knees and hug the bowl, wrenching without restraint as your insides spasm.
"Oh, mouse," Thor grumbles over you. You wince as his large hand touches your back and he bend over you, "get it all out."
You have no choice. You heave until you're empty then hang heavily over the contents of your stomach. You reach up shakily and flush. Breathless, you accept a washcloth from Thor and wipe your mouth.
"I should've warned you. Any blood of my brother will cause trouble," Thor jokes as he gently squeezes your shoulder, "here."
He offers his hand and helps you to your feet. He cranks the four-pronged faucet and lets the water flow. You rinse your face then your mouth, before reaching for your tooth brush. He hovers behind you, his hands clutched over his large stomach as he watches you in the mirror. You spit out the toothpaste and look at him.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to interrupt," you saw as you wash the bristles.
"Not at all, I was only..." he raises a hand to rub his neck, "I... was trying to deal with this... rat's nest."
He lowers his eyes and you see how his cheeks turn rosy. You look at the counter and see the broken comb and the brush he held before. You glance at him again and notice a few shakes smoothed out.
"Oh, uh, did you... did you have any conditioner? Or coconut oil?" You ask as you face him. "It will help with the tangles."
He pets his beard meekly and stares at the floor, "I didn't think of it..."
"Can I... Can I help? It might be easier than doing it yourself."
He blinks and peeks up at you, head still tilted down, "you would do that?"
"Sure. Why not? I'm kind of an expert. My barbie's used to get all matted," you shrug.
"Hm, I suppose I wouldn't be able to get the back... my next option was the razor," he says grimly.
"Oh, no, we can handle this," you grab the brush, "so... let me see if I can find anything to make this easier..."
"I shall find a chair," he suggests."
You look around the bathroom but only find shampoo and soap. Not of much help. You hear Thor approach from down the hall and he enters with a wooden chair and a jar. Hr presents the latter to you as he plants the former on the tile.
"Oil," he announces proudly, "might be a bit old..."
"That'll do," you smile and twist off the cap.
He lowers himself onto the chair, his shoulders straight and set. You near as scoop out a little oil with your fingertips. You take a lock of hair and grease it up, putting the brush to the tails of it as you start to work out the knots.
"It's easier if you start at the end," you explain, "then you don't make new knots."
"Oh," he utters. "You know, you don't have to..."
"Please, it keeps my mind off of how crummy I feel," you say, "and really I don't mind."
"Mmm, I shouldn't have let it get so bad."
"Nothing that can't be fixed," you use your fingers to loosen some matting, working closer to the scalp.
"I suppose..." he murmurs and you notice his shoulders relax just a little.
"You have beautiful hair," you say, "it's a nice colour. Thick. Not like Loki's."
He snorts. You let yourself laugh as you continue on your task. He shifts but doesn't pull away.
"He's adopted, you know?" Thor says, "if you can't guess."
"Ah, well, that's... interesting," you comment; that might explain a few things. "I don't have any siblings."
"They are both good company and the worst," he chuckles, "how's it looking, mouse?"
"Not so bad," you move on to a new section, "but you might smell like coconut for a while."

Thor, Jane and Brunnhilde stared at you in shocked silence. The soldiers that had teamed down the mountainside had vanished, either vanquished and tossed into the water or simply…gone. But then, so was the village. The long hall, the houses, each shop with its large stone front and sweeping roofs, gone. Except…when you really looked, when you tried to find your doorway, the wreath and light that made it feel like home, you could see it, shimmering where it should be as if from the corner of your eye.
“Can you guys still see the village?” You asked, mouth dry, hands trembling.
“No.” Thor answered.
“Not even a little bit?”
“Not even a little bit.”
“But you can, child, is that right?” Lugh placed a hand on your shoulder.
“A little.”
“I am so proud of you, your mother would be proud too.” His hand squeezed gently, as if he wanted to pull you in for a hug but was restraining himself.
“What did I do?” The reality of vanishing the village was setting in, all the people, the families and friends inside, you heaved in a ragged breath.
“Calm yourself.”
Thor took up space on your other side, rubbing a large palm up and down your back.
“The village is not gone, you did a wonderful thing, you protected them.”
You turned your shining eyes back up to Lugh.
“You have manifested your mother’s cloak, I thought it either lost to the eons, or that you had hidden it deliberately. But here it is, back where it belongs, with you. The village is quite safe beneath it, Bres will not be able to enter and no harm will come to those beneath, just as it protected the precious flowers during winter. The snow may settle above, but the village will be ready and waiting to bloom again when it is safe to do so.”
Brunnhilde swept a calculating glance over the protected village, “can we get in, to help them?”
She looked at you, but her eyes flicked quickly to Lugh.
“That entirely depends on whether young Estrid can lift it and, as she did not know that she could manifest it, perhaps we should plan for them to remain under it for a while. I trust you have others in your court, besides the warriors before me?”
It felt comforting to still be included as a warrior, despite the gaps in your knowledge and experience.
“They have supplies under there, but it’s a modern village, we expect food deliveries every few days or so, I don’t think we should leave them longer than a week.” Brunnhilde chewed on a nail, counting boxes of emergency supplies in her head.
“We won’t need a week though, will we? Because Estrid and Lugh are going to get Loki back, and then we’re going to finish this, right?” Jane looked around, Thor nodded enthusiastically, Brunnhilde shrugged, her smile contemplative but Lugh squeezed your shoulder tighter.
“Of course, King Brunnhilde and her wonderful court, will protect the village further and fight off the siege. I will accompany the Princess to…” he trailed off.
“America.” You supplied, “the Avengers Compound.”
“I will accompany the Princess to the Compound of the Avengers, aid in the rescue of Prince Loki of Asgard, and we will return to put an end to this ridiculous nonsense once and for all.”
Lugh was so confident, his stance that of a true God tested by time and battle ready, for once you didn’t want to run from him, you were ready for battle too.
The light remained the same throughout the day, always from above, no windows or natural openings.
Loki was considering going completely mad on purpose, simply to pass the time, when a door in the far side of the room snicked opened and a familiar face appeared. Loki stood, the picture of poise despite the basic clothes they’d allowed him, he kept his hands behind his back and schooled his face to look neutral, rather than simply bored, before speaking.
“I wondered who they’d send.” He mused, taking slow deliberate steps across the width of his prison.
“And are you happy, or not?” The Black Widow asked, stepping out from the shadows into the light cast by the prison’s eternal glare.
“Is anyone particularly pleased to see their kidnapper?” He lifted an eyebrow, hoping for some reaction from the assassin, how did she view herself in this game that Stark had dragged her in to? She had always struck him as having quite similar morals as his own, firm and unwavering even if it meant getting your hands dirty.
“Kidnapper? Hmm,” she mused, mirroring his stance, hands behind her back, but she was steady, ready to fight, dressed in her black catsuit, widow's bites glowing on her wrists and daggers sheathed on her legs and arms.
“I do not recall leaving with Stark and Rogers willingly, so I can only assume this is a very ill thought out kidnapping attempt. I am intrigued to hear your demands and then we can begin negotiation.”
“This is not a kidnapping, this is an arrest.”
“And my crime? So that I may defend myself in some way?”
Natasha’s face hardened, “New York, Laufeyson.”
Loki rolled his eyes, “still? I have served my time in an Asgardian prison. My brother, the Crown Prince of Asgard and your colleague -” Loki sneered at the thought of Thor working with them, he’d always found it distasteful that his brother lowered himself this far, but the more he knew of them, the worse it became. “- freed me. You see, I may not always have the correct path, but I am a God, I am not one of your mortals to beat and bully. We have our own ways and they have been satisfied at the highest level. In fact, I now hold a vastly superior place in the Royal Court and I am quite sure they’re missing me terribly. So, with that finished, I shall be leaving now.” He stopped in front of her, he had a grudging respect for her, but he was tired of the games.
“We can’t let you leave, Laufeyson. You know that. And there’s still the matter of Estrid.”
“What matter could there be to resolve?”
“You kidnapped her.”
Loki let out a genuine bark of laughter. “How rich, I have kidnapped someone, have I? What kind of awful person would forcibly take another and lock them away, unable to escape?” He stepped back, lifting his arms and turning away from Natasha. “She has not been kidnapped, she just does not wish to work with you.” Loki sat on the cot and stretched his long legs in front of him, giving the agent a leisurely smile. “It just eats you all up, does it not, that she cares so little for you all. Did you think you’d found yourself a new pet? A new ability to consume like you have the others.”
“Estrid is a danger to herself and others, we were containing the threat.”
“My lady may be a threat,” Loki clenched his jaw, “she may be powerful, magical, in a way that you Midgardians cannot understand, but she is perfectly capable of controlling herself. We have no need of you, she never did. In fact, if I recall, you were so desperately outmatched you asked me for help.” He sat forwards slowly, standing to his full height and approaching the glass again. “And if she has experienced one ounce of pain, one iota of worry or sadness about this sorry situation then you will wish you had never made that call, you will wish you had ignored her from the start. You and your little band of would-be do-gooders have seen nothing of the power that Asgard wields, that I wield.” He snarled, slamming a hand against the glass. It rattled, but held firm.
On the other side Natasha stayed firm, her feet set and back straight, but he could see a question wavering behind her eyes. What were they doing locking him back up, why had they sent her?
Natasha shifted on her feet and smirked. That raised lip, that quirked eyebrow. It made Loki’s blood boil.
“Is this love, Laufeyson? Do you really think you’re defending Estrid’s honour?”
“What was it you said to me once? Love is for children? You owed the archer a debt, as I recall. I owe Estrid more than a debt, I owe her a lifetime that she has been denied. More than you and your band of self satisfied superheroes could ever imagine.” He spat, fingers pressing into the glass wall. He could feel anger rising within him, the need to let his magic lash out was unbearable, the controlling magic surrounding his prison tamping it down like a cork in a bottle of champagne.
“We were never trying to take anything from her. You were tasked with helping her, you were tasked with a mission and you didn’t check in. You both vanished, Laufeyson, when you were supposed to return her to the compound. ‘Round here we call that kidnapping.”
“I made a different call.” Loki’s voice was a low growl, “because she is no object to be bargained over. She is a Princess, a Goddess. And you must allow me to return to her to defend the Asgardian people, we both know there's been an attack. You cannot hide it from me.”
“How the tables turn, Laufeyson. This feels very familiar, in fact, it’s a shame you have nothing to bargain with. But you have to accept that you can't control her forever.”
“There is no coercion here, merely the truth. And your hurt feelings of course.”
“We have a job to do, an organisation to maintain and a government to answer to.” Natasha moved slightly to the side, no doubt some code or suggestion to her superiors. Loki admired her bond with Barton, he had been touched by her dedication to gaining him back and, though it hurt him to admit, he hoped she could see his need to return to you too. But it seemed she had other plans.
“And regimes fall every day, Agent Romanoff. Or have you forgotten that, now that you’re so comfortable here? This regime of Starks, his Avengers. It cannot last forever, you mortals pass like butterflies in the summer and so will this. You’ve gone soft, I’m disappointed.”
Loki moved, slow and calculated, like a cat about to strike. He backed away from the glass and placed his hands behind his back again.
“I have a job to do, protecting Estrid. And I am tasked with making sure you don’t escape again.”
“You believe I owe you imprisonment? A punishment? We have not even begun to discuss what is owed to my Asynja for her sufferings in this place. So I would tread - oh - very, very carefully. I would think, very, very carefully. And I would scurry back to your superiors and tell them that I may be the one locked up, but I am certainly not the one to fear. You should have contained her while you had the chance, because my Asynja, my Goddess - she will be most upset to have woken up alone, so I would consider what that might look like - what that might feel like - for those responsible, when she does return.”
Lugh held your elbow as you landed on the outskirts of the Avengers compound tucked into the shadows forming from the rising winter sun. As you stared at it it seemed to glow warmer in return, light flaring in amber beams that cut swathes through the manicured lawn towards the lake.
It would be a lie to say your time here had been completely terrible, though it was certainly a low point in many ways. But Loki had made it shimmer with magic. It had been here, in these grounds, that you’d practised your gifts with him, had seen him bring forth his armour for the first time and had begun to form a friendship with Thor that now felt like family.
Loki was not to blame for this place being ruined, it was the Avengers and their need to control and box off everyone they came into contact with.
You stepped forwards, over the still brown grass that marked Loki’s entrance into your life all those months ago and, as you did so, your armour strengthened. The silver breastplate that sat over navy velvet flashed in the sun, new patterns forming on the surface, a snake, a calf, the sun and moon, twined together.
The cape at your back rustled in the breeze and your spear ignited with a blue flame, tall and proud even in the building wind. It was time, and you were ready.
“I will distract these Avengers,” Lugh said, tripping over the unusual phrasing, “you will need to find Loki. Do you know the layout of this…castle? Where will their dungeons be?”
“Don’t worry,” you eyed the large picture windows that faced out onto the grounds, “I know exactly where they’ll be keeping him, I just need to get inside.”
“I can not use the bi-frost to enter.”
“There’s an exit from the roof that no one uses, it’s locked but I can try and melt the mechanism.” You pointed to an overgrown corner of the building, “but I need you to go that way,” you pivoted to the water, motioning towards the towering entrance to the compound. “If you can lure them that way, to the water maybe, and hold them there it’ll give me more time.”
Lugh clasped a hand to your shoulder and drew you closer, patting your back, “your mother would be so, so proud of you, child. I hope you know that. I will gladly cause a distraction for you.”
Lugh strode off across the grass, bold in his gleaming armour, the sun dancing in his long hair. Immediately the guards at the gate began panicking, talking into their radios and reaching underneath their desks.
Now or never, with a shimmer of magic, you broke into a run.
The bottom of the metal staircase was, quite sensibly, locked tight and caged in with a huge padlock, but the metal bars heated easily under your flaming hands, twisting away until you could shove at the gate, forcing her way in.
You took the stairs two at a time, racing towards the roof and towards Loki. You knew he was close and resisted the urge to send a wave of power through the compound. Anyone could pick up on that, you knew the Avengers had all manner of monitoring equipment and it had probably been ramped up since your swift entrance, and exit, from their world.
The roof was as you’d left it, lawn chairs scattered around, an ashtray perched on one arm let you know the Bucky had still been using it regularly, there was a cigarette with lipstick on it as well - Natasha.
You were expecting them all to be present, but confirmation felt worse, a rock settling in your stomach. You’d never wanted to hate them, to fight against them, you just didn’t want to be them but it seemed to amount to the same thing.
From the roof you could see Lugh, popping up and vanishing around the perimeter of the compound. There were already a good number of recruits and agents chasing after him, but you needed to see Avengers, needed them to be out there to know that they weren’t inside.
Each heartbeat felt like a seismic event, your breath whooshing in your ears and limbs heavy from the stress of keeping them still. You needed to get to Loki now, why was it taking them so long to respond!
The air shifted and suddenly a blur of red shot across the open grass towards the perimeter, Iron Man. In his wake Captain America and the Black Widow took up flanking positions on the ground. No doubt the Soldier was hidden somewhere and the Falcon was probably airbourne somewhere as well, at least, you hoped.
Your heartbeat loud in your ears you reached for the locking mechanism on the door. They were all biometric, you remembered the way the Avengers have clicked in and out of rooms using their finger prints or eye scans alongside the little cards clipped to their belts. You didn't have a little card anymore, but you were pretty sure Natasha’s fingerprints would get you in.
The lock clicked, the door swinging open silently and - you weren't alone.
There was someone in the shadows, a hand reached out and tugged you against the wall.
“Shush, be quiet.”
A woman then, but - “I wasn't saying anything.”
“Shush, they're looking for you okay, Jane called me and she said ‘Darce there's this woman and-’ well anyway she told me you were coming and wow you’re sure fast I'll give you that.”
“I don't know who you were expecting but this is Natasha and -”
The woman laughed, “sure you are. The Widow’s out there -” she motioned with her hand towards the edge of the compound, “we all know that.”
With a sigh you allowed yourself to change again. If you were going to be found out anyway you might as well be comfortable.
“Ohhhh I love this get up, very Goddessy I like it a lot -”
“Didn't you say I had to be quiet?” You hissed, looking down into the dark stairwell.
“Oh yeah, quiet, yeah, so Jane told me you were coming and girl this is a stupid fucking plan but if you're for sure sure you're going down there then you'll need me to turn the cameras off.” She smiled, pulling her phone from her bomber jacket and tapping on the bright screen.
In the light from the phone you could see her more clearly, dark curling hair tucked under a beanie hat, bright red lips and headphones around her neck.
“There, okay, so I've moved the feed but you won't have much time. Do you need any help? Do you need a sidekick?”
“Do you know where they're keeping Loki?”
She stared at for a minute and then a wide grin burst onto her face, “of course I do, the medical wing I can take you if-”
“Got it, thanks.”
“I could come?!”
“No need, thank you!” You stage whispered, running into the darkness.
The compound was as you remembered it, cold despite the climate control, echoing and vast and full of people rushing around below. You crept across the higher levels of the atrium and made your way towards the medical wing. There was a cell there you’d seen that was wide and glass, made for the Hulk, if they were going to keep Loki anywhere, it’d be there you were sure of it.
As you moved through the corridors the thrumming inside of you grew deeper, the bass drumming of your heart reverberated in your bones, called to you, drawing you closer and closer, faster and faster. Your footsteps beat on the floor, breaking into a run. Skidding down corridor after corridor until, finally, you were there. The medical wing - only a door away. He was here, your bones knew it, your magic knew it.
As you passed each CCTV camera you noted the red live light flickering off, you could only hope you wouldn’t trip the fire alarm with the way your fingers flared with heat and smoke.
There was movement, behind the small window in the door and there he was, Loki, your Loki, pacing and clenching his fists.
Your flames sputtered, too excited, too overwhelmed to control and the smoke billowed.
Smoke alarms blared and Loki’s head shot up. He looked dishevelled, upset and unkempt in a way you’d never seen before. Even when he’d found you locked in the castle he’d kept an air of controlled grace and cunning. Now he looked wrecked.
Behind the glass his voice was stolen, but he was shouting, his neck and jaw tight with the effort of it.
“I’m coming,” you shouted back, uselessly, your words swallowed by the soundproofing and ongoing flashing alarm.
You tried your palm against the lock shifting just your hand into Natasha's and hoping that the Widow had clearance to open the prison door. But nothing happened, just a shrill beep and a flash of red on the screen. Access Denied, Clearance Level 1 Required.
Fuck.
“Loki, I’m going to get you out. I promise!” You called, hoping he could understand you even if he couldn’t hear you.
The thrumming inside of you grew stronger, pulling against your chest as if it was reaching for Loki.
Summoning your flames back to you, you blasted the door, all finesse vanishing with desperate need.
Loki stood back from the glass wall in his prison, waiting, patient now, staring in awe.
The flames just licked higher.
There was something on the other side and Loki motioned to the space above the door, there was nothing on your side, but he made a shape with his finger - runes.
You sent another barrage of flame but it only tickled the impenetrable door, instead you wedged the end of your spear in the gap, attempting to leverage it open, but there was still no movement.
Instead water began to spray from the overhead sprinkler system and your flames gave a last angry crackle before going out.
On the other side Loki held his hand up to the glass, a twisting smile on his face but defeat in his eyes. He was so close, so fucking close, tears welled and you screamed despite yourself, allowing your anger and fear to fill you to the brim, sucking in every speck of light from the corridor, Loki’s prison turned pitch black and then there was a shattering, a rocking and the door simply melted. The doorway dripped metal and molten glass, the searing heat a mere ghost of a touch when you passed through and there, in the middle of the room, stood your Loki.
You dropped the spear and ran to him, throwing yourself at him and trusting him with everything that he would catch you.
He swung you into his strong arms, his face pressed into the crook of your neck, breathing you in for the first time in forever. His heart raced with yours, racing towards your freedom.
“Loki -”
“Asynja -”
“I missed you, I missed you so much and I have so much to tell you -”
“In time, my darling, but first -” he bent towards you, hands cupping your cheeks and drawing you close to place a devastating kiss on your open lips. His tongue swept into your mouth, tasting your fear and need and, dare he think it, your love. You gripped him back equally as hard, your hands clutching in his messy curls, and pressed your body to his.
From some inconsequential place in the room you both heard a creak but, wrapped in Loki’s embrace you ignored it until - your stomach dropped, the singular sensation of your entire body moving at once without your input, like a lift releasing too fast.
“The prison, we must leave.” Loki tugged you towards the exit but it was too late, the prison was collapsing in on itself, the darkness below swallowing it and suddenly you were both plunging.
You lifted your arms, ready to go with Loki wherever this dreadful place was taking you, but instead a comfortable warmth settled over you both, heavy, like a cloak, and smelling of spring rain on new buds, grass and flowers and the first warm day.
“Hold on,” Loki scooped you into his arms, swinging your legs out from under you with an arm below your knees and one at your back - then the bifrost took you. Propelling you through space away from the compound, away from Loki’s prison and back to Tønsberg. Where the village lay bared to Bres once more, and you landed with Loki, wrapped in the cloak of protection, with an army at your doorstep.

--- “You will never be a god.“
Those were the last words you would ever hear of Loki speak, the man you loved more than anything and who had promised you to always be by your side.
The horrific crack that could be heard as his neck snapped in two in Thanos' unforgiving grip made you fall to your knees. You tried your hardest not to break down. Tears ran down your face as you saw your lover’s dead body fall limp onto the floor.
“No resurrections this time.”
You crawled over to Loki, not even caring whether Thanos was already gone or he'd kill you, too. The only thing you had left was Loki. Thanos had destroyed your home, murdered everyone you'd held dear, and now he had taken the only person who you had left. Crying your heart out seemed like the reasonable thing to do and you let yourself fall halfway onto Loki’s chest.
Your body was wracked with sobs as you felt for a heartbeat at his wrist, his chest, or anywhere that you hadn’t checked before. Yet, you did detect no heartbeat. Loki was dead and you would never see him again.
Never again would you hear his voice. Never again would he tease you, trick you or prank you. Never again would you feel his warmth or see his smile. Never again would he hold you. And funny enough the first thought that popped in your head was to talk to Loki about this and find comfort in him, but that could never happen again.
Another sob wracked your body as you came to terms with the fact that he was in fact dead. You didn’t know what to do or how to move on from this. In the background, you could hear Thor calling out to you but you didn’t listen.
When you didn’t listen, Thor tried to drag you away, his own eyes filled with tears. You didn’t listen; you just clung to Loki’s body harder. Thor eventually sat down next to you, apparently giving up on trying to move you, tears now running down his face.
You didn’t look at him, didn’t talk to him. All you did was cling to Loki and cry as you felt the warmth leaving his body.
Nothing mattered anymore. Loki was dead.
—
You awoke with a strangled scream, bolting upright in bed. A quick look around confirmed to you that you were in your room on the Asgardian escape ship. Quickly, you put a hand to your mouth, trying to stop yourself from sobbing too loudly. As the contents of your dreams came back to you, a fresh wave of tears assaulted your eyes, and only then did you notice that you were crying.
A voice from next to you called out your name.
Turning your head, you saw Loki, breathing and looking at you. Without a second thought, you flung yourself at him, clinging to his frame and breaking down in earnest. The god didn’t know what was wrong but wrapped his arms around you nonetheless.
“What happened?”
“Night-- nightmare.” You managed to choke out. “Or a vision of the future. Oh, I hope it’s not the latter one.”
“A vision?” Loki asked softly. You were a clairvoyant but your visions only ever came randomly, sometimes in dreams even. “What happened in your vision to make you weep like this, my little dove?”
The thought of recounting this nightmare to Loki made you cry even harder, your breathing now coming out in short gasps.
“You can tell me later but for now I need you to breathe, little dove.” He whispered, hoping the pet name would calm you down a little. He then slowly began to trace shapes into your back. “Focus on my touch and voice, could you do that for me?”
You nodded and sobbed again, trying to focus solely on the shapes he traced onto your back and his soft voice.
“I am sure it was not a vision. Perhaps it was simply a nightmare and you are so insistent on it being a vision that you frightened yourself like this.” He whispered, slowly beginning to trace a star onto your back.
“Is that a star you're tracing?"
“It is indeed. Well done, my little dove.” He whispered and began to trace a heart onto your bare skin. “Can you find this one out, as well?”
“A heart.”
“Another job well done. You are breathing more evenly now. You did well.”
Slowly, you leaned back into him. “You died.”
“I died?” He asked softly. “I am right here.”
“In my dream, I mean.” You clarified. “Thanos, he wanted the Tesseract from us and he snapped your neck. You lay there, cold and unmoving. It was horrifying.”
“And why did he murder me in your dream?”
“You had the Tesseract with you, instead of it being destroyed on Asgard. I've been afraid that you had taken it for the duration of this journey.” You whispered.
You felt Loki swallowed and looked up at him. “Don’t fret, my dove. It was destroyed with Asgard.”
“Are you lying to me?” You whispered.
“Would you be able to go back to sleep?”
“I suppose, I would be able to.” You mumbled. “Loki, could I lay my head on your chest? I would like to hear your heartbeat.”
“Of course.” He gently maneuvered the two of you back onto the bed, your head on his chest. “Like so?”
You wrapped an arm around him and listened to his heartbeat, nodding slowly. It was a steady rhythm against your ear and you were calm within seconds. Loki put a hand onto your head to hold it on his chest and you began to trace little shapes onto his chest, closing your eyes.
“Loki?”
“Yes?”
“Can you promise me that whatever happens, you will try to survive?”
“I cannot.” He said quietly.
“Why?” Your voice was shaking again.
“Should it be your life or mine, I would always choose your life.” He explained in a calm, yet sad voice.
“I don’t want you to sacrifice your life for mine!” You protested.
A small chuckle vibrated in his chest “Have I ever done as you told me to?”
“Could you at least promise me that you will fight to survive as much as possible? That you will not let him kill you easily?” You whispered into the darkness.
“That I can promise you.” Loki whispered. “Now sleep, my dove.”
“Sleep well, love.” You whispered, holding onto him. “And promise me to stay by my side should Thanos find us.”
“I will always stay by your side.”
Lies.

AN: I've really enjoyed writing this series. I'm deeply appreciative of all the feedback and reblogs. They've fueled my writing and truly made me thankful for each and every one of you.
Series masterlist
Summary: Our darling couple take the first step toward the rest of their lives
It's a cold November morning and once again FRIDAY is calling your name, dragging you from your precious sleep.
"Nooo," you grumble, nuzzling into Loki's chest and tugging the fur comforter over your head. It collides with his nose.
He snorts, pulling it back below his chin. "I'll take it from here, FRIDAY.
"Darling, you do need to get up." He shifts beneath you.
"No," you whine, your voice muffled by the blanket. "I want to stay like this forever." You reach your arm over his bare chest, squeezing it for emphasis.
"As much as I'd enjoy that," he chuckles, "your absence downstairs could cause significant upheaval. Not to mention the breakdown of our fearless leader.
"You weren't here when he went on his feeble-minded caffeine fast. There are beings in Niflhel far more pleasant than our dear Captain without his 'morning Joe.'"
"But you're warm, and...you smell good, and...and...I love you," you say between yawns, before peaking up at him with a pout.
"I love you too," he smiles and gives your forehead a peck. "That doesn't change the fact that it's Monday and you have to go to work."
You throw off the blankets with a dramatic huff. "Fiiine. I hate it when you're right."
Loki chuckles and grabs a robe as he stands, handing another to you.
☕
First things first when you get in the elevator. "FRIDAY, please preheat the ovens for kolaches and turnovers, then check the A-Team agenda and load orders for whoever's on call to the POS."
You can't fault Tony's design; two separate confection ovens, freezer and refrigerator on a vertical conveyor. The contraption stands in the back of your circular kiosk cafe along with a cooling/rising rack, sink, employee entrance, and ample counter space.
Nearest the lobby doors sit the POS station, espresso machines, grab&go fridge, and pastry display. In addition to base cabinets, there's bulk storage accessible via elevator to the garage level. With a voice command to FRIDAY, a central circle in the floor descends while a safety barrier ascends into the workspace.
Plenty of square footage for three people, and on a Monday you need all the help you can get.
Chrysa clocks in with a muttered "Morning" as you're reviewing the Avengers' order:
Medium red eye, black - 'Nat's home from her mission and there's a morning debrief.'
Large dark roast with a shot of DynaPep - 'Tony, apparently trying to kill himself after a night of post-mission "tinkering."'
Extra large cup of Joe, extra cream and an order of mixed pastries - 'Steve got his run in and feels guilty about the early debrief.'
Small cocoa with cinnamon and extra whip - 'Peter's going to be late for school. Really, Steve needs to put that kid's education first.'
Medium Dutch apple pie a la mode latte - 'Thor, making his way through the seasonal menu.'
Extra large dirty chai - 'Scott just got into town.'
You notice a distinct lack of Earl Grey with excessive honey - 'Loki went back to bed. Dick.'
The next few hours are busy, as to be expected. They have you, Chrysa and Dementy rushing around, baking, steaming, and ringing up customers as quickly as possible.
Things begin to slow by 9:30, and around 10 Wanda wanders down in sweats and clogs, a maroon hoodie covering her unbrushed hair.
You start on her turek as soon as you see her. "Hey, what would you like for breakfast? And weren't you supposed to be at the debrief this morning?"
"Hmm...a pumpkin muffin," she smirks. "I popped my head out, told the kid to keep his mouth shut, and bewitched Steve to think I was there before going back to bed.
"I'm not getting up after three hours sleep just to tell Steve everything went as planned."
"What about Nat and Tony?" you ask.
"Stark sent Mark 93 and Nat doesn't sleep half the time anyway."
☕
Wednesday afternoon finds you at a boutique with Nat, Wanda, and Hope, who's visiting for the annual gala. The latter, focused as always, has chosen six sleek, black, barely differentiated dresses and hovers with them hanging over her shoulder while the rest of you decide.
"I can't believe it's been a year since we met," you say as you hold a one-shoulder gown against yourself in the mirror.
"You should try that one on," Nat says, her sultry voice soft but insistent. "It has been a year, hasn't it? So this is a particularly special gala. Is that why you're only looking at dresses in Loki's colors?"
You grin down at the gold taffeta. "Partially. It's more a feeling he's going to do something especially dramatic? I don't know what, exactly, but I haven't seen him this cagy since my birthday. He sent half the people in Times Square to his pocket dimension because I turned down the street before the flash mob was in place."
Wanda snickers.
"You're kidding!" says Hope.
"No," Nat replies, "There was a huge fallout when Steve got back from his 'emergency mission.' Something about 'We don't know if pocket dimensions are safe for humans...that's abduction...what if someone had gotten hurt?!'"
"And don't forget," adds Wanna, "'If you're so concerned, Rogers, I'm happy to send you in there to create safety protocols. We could all use the break from your incessant nagging.'"
☕
You were going to spend Saturday lounging around the flat until you needed to get ready, but Wanda had different plans. She insisted you and the rest of the girls all have a spa day. Thus, in the late afternoon you're stepping off the elevator on your floor with goodbyes to Nat, Shuri, Wanda, Hope and Pepper.
You open the door to find Loki already dressed and pacing nervously in the front room. His curls are raked in lines from the many times he's run his fingers along his scalp. "Loki?" you say. He freezes like a child caught sneaking candy, a hand shooting to his breast pocket before he takes a breath to steady himself. "Is everything ok?"
"Yes," he attempts a carefree smile. "Of course, darling, everything is wonderful. I...uh, I was just concerned you might not make it back in time to get ready."
You raise an eyebrow, amused by his ironically poor lie. "You do realize we don't have to be downstairs for another two hours, right?" Cupping his cheeks, you pull him down to kiss him. "Whatever it is you're so nervous about, I promise it will be ok. God or not, no one is perfect, and I'm not going anywhere."
He calms a bit. "Right. Well, I'm just going to, ah, see if Stark needs any help getting things organized." He checks his pocket again before rushing out the door.
You do your hair and makeup, wandering around the bedroom in only shoes and panties as your gown simply isn't bra-friendly. You're unhooking the dress from its hanger when you hear the front door open.
"Great timing," you call out. "I'm going to need help with this zipper."
Loki enters the room. "Ravishing as always, darling," he grins at your bare chest. "I could help with a lot more than your zipper, you know."
"Says the god who was worried we'd be late?" You smirk.
"Right," he chuckles. "Let's get you into that so I can get you out of it later."
☕
The event space is nearly unrecognizable; Tony's modern minimalism nowhere to be seen.
The chrome columns are covered in black silk, green velvet held against them in sandglass form by thick gold cords. Grand chandeliers twinkle from the high ceilings, alight with five thousand candle flames. A brass quintet sits atop a raised stage opposite the bar, the dance floor spread between them.
"You weren't kidding when you said you'd help Stark," you smile, nodding at the decor. "It's very you." Standing on your toes, you give his cheek a peck.
"Thank you," he takes a steadying breath. "Shall we, er, have a drink? Perhaps some appetizers? Oh look! There's T'Challa and Shuri catching up with my brother. Why don't you join them while I find us sustenance."
You wander over to the group, letting your anxious lover gather food. "Hey," you greet, lightly grazing Shuri's shoulder as you siddle between her and T'Challa.
The king greets you with a tight hug. "It has been far too long. You have to come visit us in Wakanda.
"Okoye keeps talking about getting a Starbucks, but I told her there's better coffee to be had from international sources."
Thor lights up as his brother joins the group, handing you a cocktail and a plate of hors d'oeuvres. "Are you ready?" he asks Loki, a shiteating grin on his face.
"Will you desist?!" Loki says through gritted teeth, attempting to surreptitiously stomp on his brother's toes.
You pop a stuffed mushroom in your mouth and pretend not to notice while you listen to Shuri describe her latest invention. As your discussion of the device begins to dwindle, you hear the opening notes of a familiar waltz.
Loki clears his throat, his hand extended. "May I?"
You take it and he leads you to the dance floor. You can't take your eyes off him. His floor craft is perfection as together you dance smoothly through the other couples.
You know not just the steps, but how he'll take them, making reflexive shifts in your footwork to blend precisely into his.
His hands are comforting as he holds you, his natural scent like burning pine and fresh snow. His vibrant green eyes are full of awe of you and the glowing adoration reflected on your face.
When the song ends, he spins you to the center of the dancefloor. Your skirt settles and you find him kneeling as he holds your hand and a stunning emerald ring.
"Darling," he looks at you with batted breath. "Will you do me the honor of being my princess?"
"Loki, oh my god! Yes, yes, of course I will. Nothing could make me happier!" As soon as he slips the ring on, you pull him into a fervent kiss and the band strikes up the wedding march. You know that wherever you are, so long as you're with him, you'll be home.
