The letter

A wriolette ficlet

One morning Monsieur Neuvilette received a letter, expected or not, it was from his beloved Duke of the fortress of meropide:

"Hey neuvi, I know I shouldn't write you letters when I'm just bored but.. Sometimes I wish you were here, so we could hang out or.. Do something together, it gets somewhat lonely down here and i.. I just love you"

Neuvilette was surprised by the way this letter had been written, how much love was put into it, Wriothesley even fixed his hand writing for this one. That goshdarn letter had been in his head for the whole day, so, when all the trials were done he decided to go down to the fortress.

When he made sure he looked perfectly presentable, he ordered to open the gate, but to his surprise there was nothing, but waters of the primordial sea. The guards ran away to report about the situation. But neuvilette just couldn't believe his eyes, he fell on his knees, his eyes filled with tears, but he was so silent, it's like he wasn't there at all, but the tears, the unstoppable tears that descended from his face said it all. The storm clouds crowded owner Fontaine, trying to hide it from celestia. He reached into the water, screaming, just screaming all the built up emotion out if his heart. He knew this would happen, he knew the gate would burst but he thought that he would be there in time. But he was late.

He sealed the entrance to the bridge to the fortress with his dragon power. And he was there for hours, just crying and crying and not being able to stop. The storm raged upon Fontaine. When he didn't have the strength to cry anymore, he just..

"You said you wanted to hang out.. You said we could do something together.."

"If you felt lonely, why must you leave me alone?!" - he screamed into the emptiness, the silence only worsened the pain. Oh how he wished to see Wriothesley come out from some corner and say it was a prank. Neuvilette could have sworn he heard his voice, but he knew it was just his mind playing tricks on him.

At that moment he just wanted to dissapear, to dissolve into the water to be with his loved one, but that would never be possible. So he is now forever bound to stay alone, roaming this realm in his eternal dragonhood.

It irritates me alot when people say that making medic more compassionate is ''missing the point of his character'' when he is literally shown to be in the comics.... did you miss the part where he showed concern for both sniper and miss pauling's well being in comic 5 and 6.

His actions are a combination of genuine attachment + clinical interest and these things do not cancel out one another. He is always pushing boundaries and going against the grain and i think this is what led to him losing his license in the first place. He felt stifled by the rules imposed on him.

He is shown to be extremely passionate so it makes sense that he would use his endless fascination with medicine as a way to show his affection. He loves his friends so he will find a way to make them borderline indestructible. Malpractice is his love language.

#it makes me really angry how adamant some people are against exploring his sweeter side beyond just ''heehoo evil doctor''#idk how to tell you that giving a character a wider range of complexities and oftentimes contradicting traits #does not equal 'woobification'. him being friendly social and cheerful and fascinated with the world around him (which he canonically is)#is not the same thing as writing him as a helpless softboy. those two things do not correlate #he was visibly worried when sniper wanted to get back in the fight!#it's so abundantly clear that medic just misses social cues and doesn't always react accordingly #plus his quote unquote evilness is a joke it's not. something that is meant to be taken seriously #he's more comparable to a saturday morning cartoon villain except he is a protagonist #the way he approaches medicine to me is very similiar to #a child playing potions if that makes sense. he is throwing shit together to see what sticks #and having fun with it #i might rewrite this later to be more coherent because i have alot of thoughts on him that are jumbled together #and there is so much to say abt him #also i find it so funny how inconsistent he is. he tells them they all hallucinated before brain death #yet he personally went to hell multiple times. why did he do that #tf2 #medic #tf2 medic #medic tf2 #team fortress 2

Please let it be something kind. PLEASE.#The consequence of living with linguists is that you'll wake up with a wacked up voice -#suddenly you're sitting you down in front of a program called something like Praat having your shimmer and jitter levels calibrated.#They gave me a GRBAS of 33012. I have a fun thing called a pitch break where a whole octave just does not exist.#My vocal pain was bad enough I ended up seeing a speech pathologist and that whole experience was super neat!#I learnt a lot about voice - to be honest I might make a little comic on it after some more research. Fascinating stuff.#For example; your mental perception of our voice modulates the muscles of the vocal folds and larynx.#meaning that when you do have changes (inflammation = more mass = lower frequency)#your brain automatically attempts to correct it to what it 'should sound like'. Leading to a lot more vocal strain and damage!#And it gets really interesting for trans voice care as well - because the mental perception of one's voice isn't based on an existing sampl #So a good chunk of trans voice training is also done with the idea of finding one's voice and retraining the brain to accept it. Neat!#Parkinsonial Voice also has this perception to musculature link! The perception is that they are talking at a loud/normal volume #but the actual voice is quite breathy and weak. So vocal training works on practicing putting more effort into the voice #and retraining the brain to accept the 'loud' voice as 'normal'.#Isn't the human body fascinating?#Anyhow; Now I have vocal exercises and strategies to reduce strain and promote healing.#Which is a lot better than my previous strategy of yelling AAAH in my car until my 'voice smoothed out'.#You can imagine the horror on the speech path's face. I am an informed creature now.#I'm my own little lab rat now. I love learning and researching. Welcome to my tag lab. isn't it weird how if you get up at 7 or 8, do your work all day, then have free time and go to bed at 11 that's absolutely fine

but if i said i get up at 10, do fun stuff in the morning then work in the evening and go to bed late, i could be called lazy, nevermind that i'm getting just as much or MORE work done as i would in a traditional work day

#ramble #idk if this is a me problem or not #i've tried to do the early rise early bed thing again and again and it just does not work for me doing freelance right now #maybe it's bc i used to work at a bar so i'm more comfortable being active in the evening #i love working at night because there's less going on to distract me #what used to happen is i would get up early then fight executive dysfunction all day saying i couldn't do fun stuff until i did my work #then my will to work would hit at 10pm and i'd be up till 2am anyway #right now my routine is waking up later and playing a game or knitting for an hour or so and then working in the afternoon and evening #something something capitalism and 9-5 and adhd don't go together #this sounds like i'm just making excuses but it works and i'm actually getting shit done and sleeping enough so i don't see the problem #i just figured i'm probably going to sit and do nothing for a few hours in the morning anyway so i might as well give myself permission to

Trans Leo pride is something I see a lot, but personally, FH Leo wouldn't celebrate his gender. He grew up around Gali, who went through a lot of gender struggles, especially in his younger years, and with the brothers being so accepting, it's just another part of his life

But his lack of romantic attraction? That's something that stands out to him. He sees the brothers with their own attractions and crushes and such and realizes he stands out. He's different. But that's okay because he's still him and he's still valid

Call me homophobic, but I don't actually think it's great representation to stick a complex, dynamic, newly-realized bisexual character permanently with a flat, boring, underdeveloped love interest just because that was the first guy who showed interest.
