So I saw the post of Void, Andromeda and Polarity as kids and I've been wondering why does Polarity look so scruffy and injured compared to his siblings? 🤔

Void and Andromeda both have regenerative abilities due to their Black Arms DNA! Polarity, unfortunately, was not blessed with such miraculous healing properties and often shows the marks of the various experiments and trials he is forced to go through. That isn't to say Void and Andromeda are exempt from such tests, they simply don't show the scars from what they go through—at least, not physically.

And good question! I'm honestly not sure how I got where I'm at, but I've been "popular" a handful of times in the past in different fandoms, and in my experience there seem to be a few different factors:

•Passion!! Almost every instance I've had where I've gotten fandom popular have been when I'm at my most passionate as an artist. I don't make stuff for notes or recognition, I make stuff for me because I like it! I think people can sense that kind of thing, and it makes your ideas easier to resonate with.

•Originality/interpretation! Obviously, it's impossible to be 100% original in this day and age, but that's where your own personal interpretation can really shine! Showing off your own skill sets and strengths with the ideas you put forward really help people gain interest in the things you create. Don't try to just imitate other popular artists, try to create something that is all YOU! Make art you are proud of, make your mark on every piece! There is only one of you in the whole world, show everyone what makes you special through your work!

•Storytelling! I've noticed people are far more likely to engage with art that they can really sink their teeth into. My own specialty is character-driven world building, where I use my art and skills as a writer to create a universe people can explore through my work! Putting effort into writing out your ideas for people to read creates intrigue and investment in your ideas!

•Kindness! Actually try and put effort into being accessible with your audience. Reply to comments, asks, DMS, and engage with fellow artists! Obviously, it becomes harder to do the more presence you have, but it's important to take time to engage with the people that care about you and the things you create. Being approachable really helps develop a community, which in turn helps to uplift and highlight other artists, too!

All in all, I'm by no means a professional at getting popular. I'm extremely fortunate to have the following that I do, and I am so grateful to have so many people who love my ideas and my art! These are just a few tips that I find make it a easier to get started, at the very least.

As for the folks who follow me—what made you decide to engage with my art? Is there some other reason I'm missing? Any other advice you might have to offer? Feel free to let me know in the replies if anything else comes to mind! I have a hard time accepting just how much reach I have sometimes, so I may be a bit out of touch with what makes my work appealing. 🤣 Anyway, good luck anon!! I believe in you! ♥️

I was wondering, what helped you most when learning how to draw sonic characters?

SHAPES!! All of the Sonic characters have very strong shape language, making it easy to break them down into various pieces that can be used to base your sketches on. Circle for head, bean shape for torso, cylinders for limbs, yadda yadda. Try drawing over your favorite character with shapes! It'll help you get an idea of how to apply then to your own art.
