I cannot deal with one more Benophie fan complaining about the lack of Benedict's artistic side in s3.

Aren't you guys supposed to like this character and understand him?

Everyone complains about the show's lack of accountability, continuity, and consequences. But here it is Benedict's artistic plot going through ups and downs for 3 seasons and fans complain!

That was one of my main wishes for s3: NO ART FOR BENEDICT. It had to be this way.

Benedict thought he had entered the Academy by himself, for his talent. He was so happy to have received external validation and Anthony's interference destroyed that. He destroyed his confidence. Of course, he abandoned art. He felt like a fraud.

If Benedict had resumed painting in s3, this scene would have lost meaning and weight:

What would have been the point of this dramatic moment if he would have been fine next season?

In the book, part of Benedict's arc is growing confident in his art. He has been hiding his talent forever (even more than in the show) because he's afraid and Sophie helps him realize he's an artist. The show found a way to show his art since s1, and still follow the book.

This was not the final season, we still have to see HIS season where all of this needs to be resolved. His season is when he needs to regain confidence and share his art with everyone again, thanks to Sophie.

Yes, it was sad to see Benedict holding a newspaper instead of a sketchbook, BUT IT WAS NECESSARY FOR HIS CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT!!!!!

That brief exchange with Paul said everything the audience needed to know about his art in s3:

Paul asks him if he paints (Paul was being a bit of a jerk here, too judgemental just because Ben is part of the ton, but I get it)

How heartbreaking this was!

He couldn't have said 'yes' even if he talked in past tense because Paul would have asked more. 'Why did you give it up?' And what was he supposed to say: 'My brother paid my way into the Academy'? Of course, he said no. The writers did not forget about s1 and s2, they simply were writing a coherent storyline. Benedict's still not over the betrayal and hurt he felt at the end of s2.

In the meantime, Ben has been filling the hole art left in his heart with work during Anthony's honeymoon. Once that is gone, Ben becomes a jerk (I've talked about this in this post after seeing part 1: x) He's extra grumpy and out-of-character but it makes sense narratively because he's frustrated.

It only gets better when he meets Tilley. She is a temporary solution to his frustration. Once he began his affair with her, he went back to his normal, charming self at balls. This is what he does, what he did for 3 seasons. Sex is like a palliative treatment for whatever turmoil he has inside (see how amazingly appropriate this is for Benophie?)

Moreover, Benedict's sexuality needed to be addressed BEFORE his season. Or would you have preferred to do it while Sophie was there?

Thanks to CVD, who refused to address this matter in s2, Jess had to do it in s3. Honestly, Jess did a lot of fixing this season.

This way Benedict is at peace with that part of himself that had been causing so much anxiety since he met Granville. Not only did Tilley offer a momentary escape valve for his frustration, but she helped him accept a part of his identity AND encouraged him to find love. Honestly, the hate she gets from the Benophie fandom is shameful. She did nothing wrong and only helped and supported Benedict. (Plus Luke Thompson loved those scenes, so 🤷‍♀️)

I shouldn't get so upset about other people's opinions, but honestly. These comments come from people who declare to be stans and queens of the fandom. They also have been in a 2-year tantrum and hate campaign against s3, so not really surprised.

It's so funny because if there's one character that has been written exquisitely, it's Benedict. He's the writers' favorite, 100%. Everything he has done makes total sense and prepares him for Sophie.

I posted my “Spark, Glow & Musical Imagery doesn’t always mean mates” post a week ago and I am STILL receiving messages that I angered people, and they are still posting about that post and what I said. Many of which I’ve blocked a long time ago.

All I did was post MY OPINION on why I don’t think The Spark of the Bonus Chapter was a mate bond spark for Gwyn and Azriel and I used a bunch of canon to back up MY REASONING. The funny thing is some of the posts I’ve seen trying to “rebuttle” my post actually just proved my point even more lol. That Spark, Glow & Musical Imagery is used in different ways throughout the SJMverse. Not just mates. You can call me obtuse, attack my reading comprehension, say I’m delusional blah blah whatever other regurgitated arguments the antis use but that doesn’t change the fact that it’s true. You can scream” I took everything out of context “blah blah blah but if the spark,glow and musical imagery is ONLY used for mates… then it’s going to mean mates whenever it’s used between two people. i really admired bastille’s earlier albums (doomdays and wild world are my favs) because of the lyrics and clever wording—everything had a deeper meaning and/or alluded to something else. bad blood did it best but it’s not my fav, haha!!

i found that “give me the future” really fell flat in terms of lyrics and meaning? don’t get me wrong, i did enjoy thelma + louise and back to the future from that album but it really felt like they were reaching for the same success “happier” had, especially in terms of repetitive but “catchy” lyrics and that electronic sound. just didn’t work well for me 🤷‍♀️

when ��what you gonna do??” came out i was SO EXCITED for an album with more of that sound (crunchy!!) but i was very disappointed haha

The fandom is assuming that Lilia was in love with Levan (and also Meleanor)

But in my opinion I can't help but think that it is a more platonic love than something romantic 😅From how Lilia expressed herself in the previous parts, it feels as if they were siblings.

I did also find that most people reacting to book 7 part 5 thought that Lilia “loving” Meleanor and Raverne is in a romantic way. The frustration with this sentiment (ie the automatic assumption of romantic feelings) is actually something a few of my friends have expressed as well, so you’re not alone there!

Meleanor does explicitly say that Lilia once proposed to her. However, it should be noted that Lilia did this when they were kids a few hundred years ago. Therefore, it could be a crush that is no longer applicable to modern day Lilia (since feelings can change over time)! They also are shown to get along in a sort of “arguing siblings annoying each other” way. However, there is also the possibility that Lilia’s old feelings linger. We won’t know for sure unless he confirms.

For Raverne, it’s less clear what kind of “love” they mean. Meleanor simply says that Lilia also “loves” Raverne, so it should be possible for Lilia to (platonically) “love” Malleus/their egg too. Because Malleus is being referred to in a platonic sense but Meleanor (another comparison) was referred to in a romantic sense… yeah, we have two different “loves” and it isn’t an exact science which kind Lilia feels for Raverne. We do know that Lilia considers him a good friend and was distressed at the prospect of losing both him and his princess, but that’s not inherently romantic. You can be distressed at losing a good friend too. Meleanor also says that Lilia and Raverne spend more time together than a married couple/than he has been married to her—but again, that’s not explicitly romantic (at least not as an outright proposal), just a teasing figure of speech.

Who knows, maybe TWST had to be more lowkey with the bisexual subtext to bypass Disney’s standards 🤷‍♀️ It’s also entirely possible that Lilia’s relationship with Meleanor and/or Raverne is purely platonic now! It really depends on the eye of the beholder; I think either interpretation is totally valid. Just remember to be respectful to others that may not have the same headcanons as you!!

Honestly, I didn't hear about it and I'm very skeptical of anything further she might write about the Wizarding World. She supposedly approves of the Cursed Child which breaks lore and characters in unimaginable ways in my opinion, and she wrote the Fantastic Beasts movies that have many writing problems along with being filled with retcons, so I don't think I trust her with Voldemort.

I think, that with Voldemort, she wrote an incredibly interesting character that I wrote a lot about (he's my number 3 fave after Harry and Sirius). Because I find him and his psychology fascinating. I agree with the fact he is often misunderstood and I actually hate his portrayal in the movies. I think Ralph just didn't get his character right (like, the worst thing about the movies for me is everyone's characterization).

Voldemort isn't a cool person, but he knows how to pretend he is one. I think he's a magic nerd who hates himself quite a bit. Like, he manages to both think incredibly highly of himself and despise his very being at the same time. The thing is, even though he hates himself, he hates everyone else more.

He's stubborn and brave and ruthless, not out of cruelty, but what he sees as necessary, plus not really caring for most people. He has no idea what friendship is and doesn't know how to trust while simultaneously being desperate for a real human connection. And validation, he wants everyone to look up to him and tell him how great he is. This is one of the main reasons why he keeps the Death Eaters around, I think.

He is a man of walking contradictions who became a boogyman under magical children. I don't think he ever really cared about ruling wizarding Britain or blood purity and was mostly just running a war as a distraction for the Ministry while he was doing his side gig (being a private sector Unspeakable for very questionable magic in the first war, killing Harry Potter in the second).

But I don't think JKR sees him the way I do.

Like, she happens to write some great things seemingly by accident and I'm not sure what she thinks about Voldemort is what she actually wrote about Voldemort. Especially if she thinks Dumbledore's version of Tom is the correct one (since I don't).

As for how likely I think that series/book is to happen? I'd say chances are low. I mean, she's heavily involved in the HBO show, so I don't think it's likely she's working on something like this. And while I'm not the most aware when it comes to pop culture (I honestly don't care about most of it), I am pretty aware of what's going on with the wizarding world and I've never heard about this, so I'm pretty sure it's not actually happening any time soon if at all, but I don't actually know what she's doing so 🤷‍♀️.

Since you asked, I wanted to share my observations and opinions about the timeline between September 19th and October 11th. It’s honestly a wild ride! Feel free to post it or not, depending on what you think is best. Sorry if I missed anything—I’m just trying to connect the dots here (You probably know more about PR tbh) :

Sept 19th – Sebastian drops some nostalgia bombs in his Variety article about Leighton Meester, which probably sent CAA into panic mode. Cue the scramble to boost AW’s visibility and deflect attention away from his past. They start throwing crumbs in the following weeks.

Sept 20th – In a Today Show interview, Seb mentions a bracelet from his mom, and you’d think he just declared war on the 'Stall' shippers! Their meltdown over his jewelry being tied to AW is peak absurdity. Like, chill—it’s a bracelet from the woman who gave birth to him—his MOTHER!

Sept 24th – Cleide Klock from CAA casually mentions Seb’s “girlfriend” who grew up in Portugal (ahem, AW) in an interview that went nowhere. Classic CAA move to keep AW relevant while trying to maintain their narrative.

Sept 19th - Oct 4th – DeuxMoi gets questions about Seb and AW’s relationship status, and what does DeuxMoi do? She posts screenshots of AW liking stuff and the stories she had about Seb's movie on IG. It’s like DeuxMoi is trying to portray AW as the supportive GF while also playing a game of whack-a-mole to keep her in the spotlight.

Oct 4th – At the Chiltern Firehouse party, Seb looks straight-up stressed while he pushes AW inside and helps Ruby with the straights instead. That tense jaw and body language say it all—definitely not the romantic vibe CAA is trying to sell. And that awkward selfie from Ruby and AW? Yikes! He legit looks constipated.

Oct 11th – DeuxMoi drops the bomb about Seb and Leighton, calling him a “couch fucker.” Like, can you say character assassination? This feels like a preemptive strike for AW to play the “wronged girlfriend” card if Seb doesn’t renew her contract.

Oct 13th – A video surfaces of Seb looking totally distressed while bolting from a hotel, with AW lagging behind like a lost puppy. The dude didn’t even glance back. Talk about a disconnect! Evelyn was there too, but honestly, who cares?

Oct 17th – AW tagged along with the cast at the Apprentice Gala Premiere in Copenhagen (as if she was part of the movie) —a classic desperate attention-seeking move. And Seb's smirk? Yeah, that’s not the look of a guy smitten. I mean, his eyes were doing something, and that smirk? It sounded more like a sarcastic “I’m amused by your antics, but not feeling the love,” totally contradicting the ‘bedroom eyes’ narrative the 'Stall' shippers are pushing.

My two cents:

All this evidence points to CAA trying to keep AW in the picture. Meanwhile, Seb keeps shading her in interviews—like when he mentions how people are addicted to filler, Botox, and social media, implying that those who spend their whole day scrolling lack substance and seek validation elsewhere. I think either she or her team realized he wasn’t going to renew the contract, so they paid DeuxMoi to post the podcast claiming Sebastian cheated on Leighton. Suddenly, we start seeing stories about him allegedly cheating on Jennifer and Diana, too.

It feels like a desperate attempt to either back him into a corner to renew the contract or set the stage for AW to portray herself as the saintly girlfriend who always supported him, only to be cheated on like he always does. Cue the “poor AW” narrative! Seriously, dragging up something that may or may not have happened years ago? Really?

Damn, that was loooong, and I probably forgot some stuff! I didn’t even get into her baiting and lurking on Insta stories because I’d be writing an entire novel instead of an ask (sorry, lol). So yeah, that’s basically my take on things, but who knows… maybe I’m just overthinking this soap opera! 🤷‍♀️

First, I should just say I love snape he’s probably my second fav character, and I think he’s very interesting. HOWEVER. No matter what he’s been through, you can’t deny he is not rly a good person. In his entire adult life he’s, yes, miserable, but also just..not great. But this isn’t a post debating on his morals or whatever. My main point is that he didn’t deserve it, at least in the beginning. I’m not anti maruaders, but how they treated him was awful. And what did they have on him? What had he done wrong? He was poor and unnattractive. And that just because they can. That’s basically it in the beginning. He didn’t deserve that at all. The whole jinx incident was literally assault and a total violation. And no matter how much Severus had been being nosy, sending him to get killed by a werewolf is completely inexcusable. Idk, maybe as he starts to get more into the dark arts and bigotry he does. But for the first few years of Hogwarts, saying he deserved it, even if you don’t like him, is just stupid 🤷‍♀️

So it’s very likely, not canon, by very likely that Severus was stripped further than his pants (or, well, trousers to be more specific in this case) Just like..

i will strive to clarify that me agreeing that dz=worst chuuya deserves better was, as i specified, "on a generalized scale" — on a very, very, VERY surface level this is a jokey way i've seen a lot of skkers talk about their relationship. more of an inside joke atp ig? idk. srry if that wasnt clear

but i do think it's valid to dislike a ship because you don't like one half of it. i totally get how dz's character can piss ppl off, esp if ure missing lns and mangas (which rimu wasn't, but they watched the anime first so the precedent was set). i found the first part of their thesis to be pretty funny actually, just (again) taking it at face-value.

it's also understandable that they try and dissect dz then miss the mark by a mile LOL. but again, can't be blamed if you hate the guy and thus don't read into him too much, which i think is a reasonable way to consume media... probably more reasonable than me. hence why i didn't respond with my own thesis paper. overall idk man it's not that deep, i've been having fun with rimu and i'd advise y'all to also be silly w/ ur Budgeted RPF Dead Author Yaoi, it'll make things a lot better

abt what you've said, i think dz and chuuya can't exist as true characters w/o each other, unless you fundamentally change their truth. a lot of their good & bad (& inbetween) sides are exposed through their relationship, which i believe is asgr's very interesting way of employing "show-don't-tell." i don't think chuuya's storyline is over, because dazai's isn't, and vice versa. this doesn't mean i don't think they have their own arcs, just that these arcs Must involve the other — if dz's main conflict is good/bad + the mafia, chuuya is his biggest amiable tie to it, and if chuuya's conflict is his self + power, dz must be there for corruption. there's more to say there, but again i don't want to feed rimu's claims of us all being dormant essayists LOL

what do you think if theres blogs that are not only deeply obsessing with finding out ateez members exact fs but they also discussing their potential body parts. I tried telling them how weird and gross it was of them but they tell me I was taking it too far. what the fuck? am sorry but this kpop tarot thing is what is taking ppls obsession with idols fs too far. its bordering on creepy rn and its not just one blog theres like several of them that mainly focus on idols fs.

some blogs be claiming they dont dig too much but then they still think it ok to even discuss idols sexuality or some other aspect of their personal life.

i’m not really on that side of tumblr or social media so i can’t really say much about it. i have clear boundaries. im fine with certain readings about ateez’s fs but i wouldn’t do more readings than i have online right now. we already know more than enough. i keep getting a crazy amount of asks in my inbox of people trying to fit especially san’s fs aspects. i’m deleting all of them because none of those people reading my stuff and also myself will be their fs. some people really need to touch some grass. when i see certain physical traits in a reading i point them out, however i focus on personality only. what’s bothering me is how almost everyone on here in my inbox assumes that the members are straight. making their fs a girl at all times. we don’t know their sexuality and it’s quite frankly none of our business. we don’t know if their straight or part of the lgbtq+ community. this is why i keep my readings gender neutral because we don’t know shit.

now in general i don’t want to spread any negativity because life itself is already a big struggle for most of us. i want my blog to be a place where people could just entertain themselves for a bit and. so i won’t say anything about other readers because i honestly just can’t. like i said, im not on that side of tumblr. i get your point but you have to remember you’re telling me this, im a kpop (well just ateez) tarot reader myself and i’ve done reading about their fs too so 🤷‍♀️🤣 like i said, i have my boundaries with readings, won’t do any sexual readings and i don’t focus on looks. being someone who was crazily sexualized since being a child, i really hate this side of any fandom. there’s too many obsessions going on. you wanna know what happened when i saw the most recent pool pics of the members, especially san and woo? as a gym girly i was like “woah i really need to know their routine so i can shape my body like theirs” i can just admire them. viewers here are a little too delulu and have a hard time sticking to reality and form an own opinion it feels like. and I’m sure some readers feed into that. it’s giving you a ton of likes and if that’s their main purpose for posting i guess i get it. that doesn’t mean i’m okay with that but i know many people need validation like that. whenever there’s people coming up and officially date like twice’s jihyo for example i always feel really warm around my heart. gives me the feeling they can still have a bit of a normal life.

i don’t really have anything else to say and only repeat myself. i don’t know if i’m the right person to talk to about that, i do readings and did fs readings like what you just complaint about, but i have boundaries and know what’s reality. none of us will be with any of them, ever and viewers should stop honestly believing “omg XYs fs is like this and that, i’m just like that it has to be me they have to do more detailed readings so i can make it fit for myself”.

on another note, and this is in no means anything bad or hate whatsoever, i love getting asks from you but those long asks are sometimes a bit much because im not your diary, love 🤣 no hate. but it just felt like a rant and i do really like rants but my inbox is maybe not the best place for that because i don’t want to spam any of my followers page with that you know?

Thoughts on RPF

I realized that I've been in the BL sphere a long time and I am now entering a new fandom (stray kids - still not going in the tags way too much x reader stuff that isn't my cup of tea at all) and I never made a post about my thoughts on RPF and how they changed etc. And since both spheres do have a pretty sizable RPF fandom I wanted to write my thoughts on a single post.

I used to be totally against it. We all seen the articles about the ruined friendships and how difficult it was for them (I am thinking about the One Direction boys and the likes). But then I entered the BL sphere and encounter Thai BL (and other spaces BL and K-Pop alike) brand of fanservice. And meet some lovely people who made look at stuff from another prespective.

So my current thoughts on the shipping of real people are the following:

Fanservice is not queerbaiting (Let's just get this out of the way) - Fanservice has been used everywhere in het shows and movies, even recently (see Bridgerton stars of the new season playful flirting in interviews and that Blond girl from Euphoria with the "romance" speculation thing for her het romance movie)

Shipping celebrities is actually nothing new. People have been doing that kind of stuff with het celebrities since we started having celebrity. I am pretty sure gossip magazine were at some point half founded by it. No one ever felt the need to make this into a weird horrid thing until people started to ship same sex people.

ANY FAN behavior that involves sending hate (or protest trucks or whatever else) to a real person celebrity or not is wrong. The reason behind the action is irrelevant, crossing that line because a real person you don't know didn't behave the way you wanted it to is wrong the why doesn't matter.

Shipping is a fan thing, don't ask about it to the celebrity during lives, don't always wonder about the ship or where the other person in the ship is. It's a fan thing, it stays in the fandom.

If the people you are shipping tell you to stop, STOP! If they say honestly we are just friends. They are just friends. Believe what they are saying. Even if that means you might fall for a lie, or whatever.

If they are queer it might not be safe for them to come out. And an acutal confirmation might ruin their carrear. Act accordingly.

Don't assume you know them, or that your opinion and vibes are what's actually true. Also the phrase don't assume other's people sexuality means don't presume any sexuality, straight included it doesn't just mean don't presume they are queer.

Don't make it your all life. There are things that are more important than shipping. I promise. If you base your full existence based on this one ship you will be miserable.

Platonic Love is still important and valid and not everything needs to be romantic.

FINALLY: My personal thoughts on whatever pair braind or ship of real people you see me mention on here is this. I love their realtionship. I like seeing men being openly affectionate and loving. Calling each other baby, and saying their relationship is important. I think it's doing great things in normalizing closensess between men and also platonic displays of affection. It would be neat if they were queer/dating (and some of them do have vibes beyond the ship thing that make me go 👀🏳️‍🌈❓). Because celebrities being openly queer is potentially game changing for large numbers of people. But so long as they are not assholes it's ok if they are just allies who don't behave in a toxic macho way. I don't know them, this is just for fun. If they are queer/dating great, amazing even. If they aren't 🤷‍♀️.

I think sociology can have its uses too and would absolutely encourage those sorts of studies into systems.

But I do believe neurology and psychology have more advantages for the plural community.

First, in the syscourse debate, one of the most popularly parroted lines is that endogenic systems are "scientifically impossible." Psychology and neurology can combat that. And no, it won't instantly end all fakeclaiming. Not everyone will believe the science, as we can see with how many people still think vaccines cause autism. But it's a weapon we can utilize to start shutting anti-endos down.

Like, "fuck the public" is a cute sentiment. But when the public are actively fakeclaiming and harassing endogenic systems... I think maybe these issues need to be addressed so fewer endogenic systems get fakeclaimed and harassed. Just a thought. 🤷‍♀️

Anti-endos may never be completely eliminated, but scientific validation can at least ensure that they'll be relegated to the same status in the public eye as anti-vaxxers and flat-Earthers.

At another level though, tulpamancy is psychology. (At least, for the majority of tulpamancers who have a psychological view of it.)

It's admittedly a loose form of psychology with no budget, and it's based more on case studies than hard data. But it's psychology nonetheless.

We can use psychology to understand plurality and by extension, find better more efficient ways to make tulpas, refine our various tulpamancy skills, and come across new skills we hadn't considered before. Better, more refined tulpamancy methods can mean quicker results, which means fewer prospective tulpamancers give up part-way through the creation process, which means more successful tulpamancers, which means a larger group of endogenic plurals with more political power.

On the flip side, current research into tulpamancy is interested in how tulpamancy techniques could actually be used to learn about voice hearing and dissociative disorders. This research could hopefully prove helpful to the medical community in developing new treatments for these conditions.

A distant hope may even be that studies looking into the positive mental health of tulpamancers could eventually lead to clinical trials to treat disorders such as depression. And if it could provide a successful treatment method, that would be pretty awesome in my opinion.

Sociology is valid too and both types of research can co-exist and be valuable in different ways. But I thing between psychology and sociology, the former is going to prove the more useful field for plural research. And I think plural research will benefit the field of psychology too.

Why do some people say Izzy is homophobic? Flippant jokes I get, but there are people claiming this seriously. Yes, he's often very mean towards characters who just so happen to be homosexuals... But what in the world would make anyone conclude he's not a perfectly equal-opportunity mean person?!? Same with the racism accusations. Probably preaching to the choir here... And I personally don't even like Izzy (as a person; as a character he's brilliant), but it still gets annoying.

I mean... if the question is whether or not Izzy Hands can plausibly be interpreted as homophobic, then I think the answer is unambiguously yes.

I don't think it was avoidable with the story they are trying to tell. Homophobia is pretty deeply entangled with expressions of masculinity and how people see gay relationships. Izzy's literal purpose as an antagonist is to be so against the BlackBonnet relationship that he was willing to try and get Stede killed over it. And thematically, to do anything interesting with stuff like embracing self-expression or arguing that open honesty and vulnerability are good for people, someone has to fill the role of objector. In a televised medium especially - where you aren't sitting in Izzy's POV and you definitely can't read his mind - there is going to be a level of interpretation to his motivations and what, exactly, he's finding objectionable, and some people will come to the conclusion that he's a homophobe. 🤷‍♀️

It's a side effect of trying to say something not completely shallow in your writing - you will run up against grey areas and you can't make the audience unanimously stay in the intended track. Multiple plausible interpretations will exist. A character who objects to other masculine characters expressing emotional vulnerability will plausibly be read as homophobic.

It's our job as we watch the show to look at all the plausible interpretations and decide which is the strongest, just like it's the writers' job to make sure their intended interpretation is the one the most audience members settle on. Complete consensus is impossible, so I'm not, like, surprised that some people are sticking to their guns on that one, but I'm still pretty confident Izzy being homophobic will end up the weaker interpretation.

I actually think Izzy being more or less doomed to being plausibly homophobic is what makes the writing for him so good. Because a much easier option, or a weaker writing team, would have gone in on it. Yet another story about homophobes making gays' lives unhappy, only this time the twist is we make the homophobes a punchline. It's way harder and more interesting to pull off an antagonist that hates a gay relationship but is only plausibly homophobic, and there's a perfectly valid and even encouraged read of the show where he's not. That's actually cool (and why I'll be pretty disappointed if it turns out he is just Mr. Internalized Homophobia).

🤔 My more controversial opinion, though, is probably that I think once you get to a certain level of theorizing unconscious / unintended homophobia in fiction then it functionally doesn't exist. That's pretty much what I'm trying to say here. In real life there is some value to recognizing that everyone has some unconscious biases they're probably acting on without realizing, but in a story... if the character / their actions won't be acknowledged or treated as homophobic, or they won't make the leap to homophobia at any point in unpacking or addressing their flaws, and you aren't trying to say anything about the author's personal biases or blindspots coming through? If a tree falls in a fictional universe but nobody writes about it, does it make a sound? Did it even fall?

Personally, and as I've mentioned countless times here, I've always been an apologist for freedom of speech and freedom of thought. Therefore I have no problem with there being more blogs. Tumblr is a free space after all, and people are free to create, visit and interact with as many blogs as they like. My blog? Their blog? Both? It doesn't matter. Everyone is still very welcome here and everything will remain exactly the same. 😊

I can understand this blog's not being everyone's cup of tea, but is there really anything that is? 🤷‍♀️ There could be a million valid reasons why some people wouldn't enjoy the blog, however, the presented argument is, in my opinion, the most untrue of all. They claim that "it's not good if there's only one person controlling the whole thing", when, first and foremost, this blog has never been the only one of its kind around. There's @alexhandersenblog, which is an older, more established blog than this one, and one which I personally respect and admire. 😊 And secondly, "controlling" is the polar opposite of everything I've always stood for here. Those who've been around since the blog started last July, and those who've just arrived and are just catching up with older posts, can see that everything gets posted — the negative opinions, the positive ones, the discussions, the jokes, the playful banter, the available news, and everything in between. Do I always agree with everything that gets posted? Absolutely not! Does it prevent me from posting it still? Of course not. Because here I don't think no one's opinion is worth more than others. I'm some sort of "moderator" yes, and still have to click the "answer" button for asks to be posted, because — newsflash! Tumblr still hasn't made it possible for asks to be automatically posted without some human (in this case the blog's owner) action. But that's about it. Sometimes I also share my opinion, other times I don't think it's necessary, but I never thought of it as being the absolute truth. It's just my opinion, as valid as anyone else's. And if someone actually agrees with it, and/or thinks some of its arguments are enough to change their own way of thinking, fine. If not, also fine. You're still absolutely free to disagree with me and I'll always still respect you as a person. As I like to say, there are as many opinions as there are people, and it's actually a good thing. It means people are capable of thinking for themselves and it makes room for discussion. Moreover, I always make sure to differentiate when something is just an opinion (by stating "in my opinion", "I think", "I believe", etc...), a fact (by presenting actual proof, such a screenshots and/or links) or a gossip (something written on reddit, some second-hand info from various sources, etc... in which case I'll always remind people that it's impossible to attest the info's veracity and to take it with a grain of salt). All of this is always mentioned on my answers, and it always will be.

Returning to the subject of not posting all asks, unless it's a case of Tumblr malfunctioning and not delivering them to me, which is beyond my control, all of them do get posted. (You may remember this post, when Tumblr notified me of an ask, but the inbox appeared empty, so I asked people to resend it, in case their ask got "eaten". Because it's important to me not to ignore anyone.) And all of you who visit the blog regularly and contribute with your thoughts and opinions know that's true, and that's enough for me. 😊 (Unless the person who keeps accusing me of not posting their asks is the one and only anon I had to block so long ago, for keeping filling the inbox with asks regarding cyberbullying — literally just definitions of the word and some mildly related ones such as catfishing — which added nothing to the discussion, after being publicly told more than once that the topic had been discussed enough? It's the only thing that occurs to me. 🤷‍♀️ Can blocked anons still try to send asks, though, and Tumblr just won't deliver them? Just trying to clear any possible misunderstandings.)

Anyway, and because this is already too long, I'd like to finish with a statement my mother always says — "actions are for those who practice them". My conscience is clear. I've nothing to fear and nothing to hide. I've always done my best to make this blog the most neutral space possible, where everyone and all opinions are welcome, where no one will be attacked or judged for thinking differently. I'm sorry that some people apparently failed to understand this, and I can only thank all of you who've been along for the ride and have made this a fun place to be. Because at the end of the day, it was never that serious and we're only here to have a good time. 😉 And I'll do my best to always keep it this way.
