feat. | kaveh, kaeya, xiao, and ayato! summary | you're moving, but he'll wait an eon for you. - angst a/n | ahahaha i haven't written angst in so long. my ayato one is the best lowkey so i'm putting it at the top 😇😇😇

that night, as ayato refers to it in his head, left him wounded and reeling and never wholly himself again. that night, where you had kissed him gently, too gently for the words cutting out of your mouth, and then left. that night, where you had vanished without a trace and promised you'd be back. that night, two years ago.

you had been eating a picnic dinner in front of the kamisato estate, the waves lapping at your bare feet, leaning against his shoulder. moonlight had wreathed his face in a holy glow, and a sharp pang of regret had dug itself into your ribs and stayed there. did you really have to leave? couldn't you just stay here, frozen in time, on this sandy beach, with the man you loved?

"ayato," you tell him, leaning into his ear. "i've got something to tell you."

he rests his chin against you, leaning his cheek on the crown of your head. "what is it, love?"

and suddenly you don't want to tell him, but the words are out of your mouth before you can stop them, and he draws away from you, hurt flashing in his brilliant blue eyes. he caresses your cheekbone with his finger, telling you it'll be okay, it'll be fine, you'll be back before the blink of an eye, it'll be okay.

his heart protests as he wraps ice around it, willing himself not to cry. he's not emotional; never will be. you smile at him, telling him thank you for being so understanding, telling him i love you and i'll miss you and thanking archons that he isn't upset.he nods through the rest of the night, numb and hot and cold all at once.

and then you leave, and there's a sinking pit in his stomach, because he wonders if you'll ever come back. how many years, he wonders, can he go without you until he withers up and fades away?

he's never been overly sappy with you, choosing instead to shower you with trips and picnics, flirtatious smiles and fancy dinners (although how he affords it, you don't know), as he's done with every other one of his lovers. he's considered himself a man of strong self-worth, never shattering when he's been dumped.

something about you, though, has him on his knees. he wants to beg and plead until you stay, cry and confess his love to you a thousand times. he's not a very emotional man; ask anyone. the pain in his eyes makes you want to stay and take his face in your hands and kiss him until he feels better, but you've got to go. a droplet of rain hits the back of your neck, making you shiver.

"i have to go. i think it'll be good for you, maybe you can branch out--" you start, but he cuts you off. he reaches for you, taking your hands in his.

"do you think i would want anyone else but you? all the days we spent together, did those mean nothing to you?" he pleads of you. wind whips your hair into your eyes, and he reaches forward and tucks it behind your ear. you've never seen him so vulnerable, and you have to leave before you can't.

and so you do, turning your back on him, leaving him standing in front of the akademiya, a dark silhouette against the cold, troubled sky.

"i'll wait for you," he calls after you. "i'll wait forever and ever until you come back."

kaeya's never loved anyone as much as he's loved you, and between his devil-may-care exterior, and the way he won't share anything with anyone, you hadn't realized. when you tell him you're leaving, he's drops his wine glass. it shatters, and he steps over it, reaching for your arm. "no, love," he says, eyes desperately searching your face.

you swallow back a lump in your throat as you step away. "i have to go, kaeya," you tell him, tears pressing behind your eyes.

the sun highlights your body, and he thinks bitterly that you've never looked more perfect than you are now. it's the middle of the day, and you're on the balcony, his wineglass at his feet, shattered and akin to his heart.

you press your lips together to stop them from trembling and whisper, "i'll come back, kaeya. i promise."

he can't conjure up a response, instead turning away and leaning against the railings, looking down at the sidewalk below. he's tense; you want to change your mind and throw yourself at him and hug him and never let him go but.

but.

"if you're going," he says thickly, refusing to look at you, "then go."

his split heart doesn't pick itself up until many years later.

xiao |

xiao has known pain, agony so deep and gut-wrenching it doubles him over. xiao has known loneliness and sadness. he has known ecstasy--but only after he met you.

he always thought the two of you were perfect, forever a package deal, a pair. you clearly had different plans, and now his pain is back, familiar and terrifying.

"xiao," you plead, "it's not for forever."

he takes a deep breath, inhaling the petrichor air, the rich smell of the ground that you're lying on. rain pelts his face and his hands and his hair, beading on your eyelashes and concealing the tears that trickle down your cheek and into your hair.

you watch him anxiously, considering turning towards him and taking his hand until he looks at you, maybe--

"oh, my love," he says finally, turning towards you. there are so many words he could say. with you, i am happy. i am calm and safe. i can smile and laugh. with you, i am complete. he says none of these, instead opting for, "why?"

you blink away more tears, raising your arm to shield your face from his cut-glass gaze, his hurt eyes. i love you, you want to blurt. i'll always love you. but it'll hurt more, and instead, you get up and turn away. "i'll miss you, xiao," you tell him. "i'll come back."

he watches your retreating form, wondering where he went wrong. how many more years would he spend back in grayscale, without you to light up his days with splashes of aquamarine and vermillion?

Here we go again! These do not include Domino or Phlox questions as I plan on addressing those in a separate post. I couldn't get through as many questions this time around but I did what I could. I'm sorry, I'm just a little mentally and emotionally overwhelmed right now so I can only respond to so many at a time.

sayain-princess-vegenta asked: What is some original artwork or stories you've been working on lately? I know you probably get a bunch of questions for established fandoms but spoil us with your own thoughts! 😇

A: Well that's very kind of you to ask! To be perfectly honest, I mostly stick to fan art or creating original characters that exist in an already established world. I only have one personal project that is completely original, but so far it's only character designs. I don't have a full story or world built yet. I'm not sure if I'll ever share it on here.

Anon asked: Who or what made you wanted to do art?

A: There wasn't anyone or any particular thing that made me want to draw. I've just been drawing since I was able to grasp a pencil (or crayon) in my hand and I've never stopped! 🥰

Anon asked: Do you still like sonic boom or are you over it?

A: My love is everlasting!

Anon asked: Hello Evay_art I always wonder have you always thought doing Amy Rose game???

A: Hi! Do you mean for me to make an Amy Rose game? I don't have the talent to do that, but gosh do I want there to be an Amy game so badly! ☺️ She deserves it! I would love to play a game devoted to her. I thought The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog was especially great because she was a major character in it!

Anon asked: What is your opinion of Sally Acorn? Do you like the idea of her and Sonic have had a relationship? In fact, something I never got an answer for, is she considered canonical?

A: I'm not a fan. Plenty of people can argue for or against Archie characters, but Archie is not considered part of the game canon like IDW is.

Anon asked: I keep on hearing everyone talk about Hell Hath No Fury, so I finally got curious enough to read it! I have to say that it was coming out really good! Do you plan on working on it again any time soon?

A: Thank you for checking it out! I'm glad you were enjoying it. Yes I do plan on picking it back up eventually.

Anon asked: Does HHNF take place in Sonic Boom(Sorry if this is a stupid question)

A: It's not a stupid question at all. HHNF is a Modern Sonic story, not Sonic Boom. Also, it is not part of my AU. It's a completely separate story 🖤

A: Oh I plan on it! I love drawing werehogs!

Anon asked: I have a question since sonic boom has been over for a while now. Do you still like the designs from it or have you moved on? Cause I know the sonic boom designs are somewhat of a future designs for some of your comics. I was just wondering if it would be Recon at this point

A: I still love the Sonic Boom designs and they're still part of my canon. I try to draw more than just Boom (I've been especially neglectful of the Modern designs and I need to do a better job of that), but the Boom designs are still my most favorite to draw.

sonicx1027 asked: Hey Evay, I’m curious if you are going to make another comic in the future, especially with the new Sonic Characters being added from the IDW series. If you are, have a story in mind?

A: I definitely plan on including IDW characters in future comics! I need to catch up on the IDW comics before I feel comfortable enough to write anything. I want to make sure I keep them as in-character as possible. But in the meantime I do have plans of having them make little appearances.

A: WHY ARE THEY TORTURING US?! GIVE US A TRAILER!!!! I am sure it will be worth the wait but it's killing me.

Anon asked: How do you feel about Mighty the armadillo?

A: It's funny because I think one of the Tailstube videos (or perhaps it was one of the Twitter takeovers) made the point that Mighty is basically just a more mellow version of Sonic and I do agree, I've always thought that. I actually think he's like a fusion of Sonic and Knuckles, but super chill.

emceevoices asked: In Boom Baby, what was the movie Sonic, Amy, and Eggman were watching? In my dub, I had them watch the 93 Super Mario Bros movie, but did you have any specific movie in mind?

A: I believe you're talking about Chapter 5.1 of My Gal. They are watching my own make-believe Overwatch movie lol I just wanted an excuse to draw Mercy as a Mobian

I do have one question, if you were to have the time and willingness to, would you draw designs for the Freedom Fighters (Sally, Bunnie, Antoine, Rotor and Nyx) that fit in your AU and try to work them subtly into it?

A: I'm still alive! Haha 😄 Thank you so much, I'm really glad you are enjoying my new work! I'm sorry to disappoint but I was never a fan of the Archie comics or characters, so no I do not include them in my AU. Sorry!

A: I do plan on adding Tangle and Whisper 🥰 I need to get caught up on the IDW comics to make sure I'm writing them in-character, but they will make an appearance in the near future.

A: Thank you so much, I'm so glad you like her! 💗 I don't like to include exact ages because I don't think Mobians age the same way humans do. Especially since SEGA has redacted the Sonic characters' ages. But for majority of my drawings, Aurora is the human-equivalent of about 20-23 years old.

Anon asked: can you draw super Aurora and tell me what abilities she has

A: 😊 I've drawn Super Aurora (aka "Aurora Borealis") quite a few times! [x] [x] [x]. She has all the standard Super Hedgehog powers (Flight, strength, invincibility, etc.)

thechosenflow asked: How does Metal sonic interact with Aurora? Are they friends or does Metal act as a guardian?

A: I've only drawn the two crossing paths once. I like to think that Metal Sonic is secretly in love with Amy, and so when Amy and Sonic get married he is pretty devastated. Maybe he gets his own Metal Amy and has his own Metal family??? 👀

Anon asked: So we know that Sage is best friends with Aurora but how is she with Rouge and Knuckles son's? I forgot their names😭

A: That's okay, I have a lot of characters. You're asking about Ruff & Tumble! Honestly I don't see her having much of a relationship with them. They are quite a bit younger than Aurora so I don't think Sage would have much reason to be around them often. HOWEVER! I do write Sage to have a friendly-competitive relationship with CC, and since CC does not care much for the hyena boys, that means Sage automatically gets a kick out of them.

antooogamer asked: What happened to Sonic's scarf? Do you keep it or when you retire will you give it to one of your grandchildren?

A: With how much danger that hedgehog gets in to, that scarf would have been ripped to shreds! No way it survived long enough for his grandkids to have it 😆

Anon asked: Have Aurora ever met Blaze, Sliver, and Amy's parents?

A: Blaze and Silver are friends with Sonic and Amy so she definitely would have met them at some point. I originally wrote Amy's parents as having passed away before she and Sonic got married, but I recently decided to change that! The Rose 'rents will be alive in my canon! So yes she'd have met them, too!

cyberdiesel asked: What is Aurora's relationship with the Gogobas and Froglodytes (including Og) like?

A: Aurora does not have any relationship with them (I did not care for them so I don't plan on ever drawing them haha)

Anon asked: What did Sonic and Aurora do for Amy on Mother's Day?

A: They spoiled her rotten by making her the most delicious, sweet, unhealthy breakfast imaginable with pancakes and ice cream and all the flavor syrups! Sonic even cleaned up after!

Anon asked: Does Aurora loves Chillidogs like his father?

A: Nobody loves chilidogs as much as Sonic haha But she does enjoy them. She kinda has to, chili dogs are a staple in the Rose household!

A: Of course! Cream is Amy's best friend. Aurora absolutely would have met her!

echidnapower asked: So, difficult philosophical lore math question for you. 👀 Aurora and Sage are besties. Aurora is the daughter of Sonic the Hedgehog. Sage is Dr. Eggman’s daughter. Dr. Eggman wants to destroy Sonic and take over the world. Sage never wants to hurt Aurora. Eggman hurting Sonic would hurt Aurora. Sage is "presumably" loyal to Eggman. Solve for X, if you know what I mean. >:)

A: echidnapower you always ask the tough questions! It might not be very exciting, but Eggman mellows out in my AU as he gets older and he even adores Aurora, so he has no intention of hurting her. Sage does want to rule the world and make the Eggman Empire reign supreme, but she wants to do it passively and by intelligent means, not through destruction ;) Sorry that's a boring answer for you!

km0901 asked: Hi again! A question that's been on my mind lately comes from your "Time travel" comic. In it, we know that Aroura goes back in time to save Shadow, but from what? I first thought it might be DR. Eggman, but he has seemingly moved on with his life along with everyone else. This leads to the big question, who or what is this new menace?

A: I know this is a disappointing answer, but I can't reveal what the threat behind that storyline is yet! You'll have to wait when I can finally write that story out as a fic. All I can confirm is that the threat is invented by me. It is not an antagonist from the game canon. I'm so sorry I can't share more!

Anon asked: will you ever draw your human AUs for sonic again sense you have a newer art style ( btw speaking of art style i Love it and absolutely adore everything you post)

A: You are such a sweetheart, thank you! I'm really happy to hear that. I'll draw human Sonic characters again, just not sure when :) Some people really hate the way I draw the gijinka Sonic characters so that's why I don't do it much. But whatever, it is what it is. It's not going to stop me forever lol I'm happy you like it!

Anon asked: I love the design for Movie Aurora!! Since Tom and Maddie are like Sonic's adopted parents (if Aurora lives on earth), would you see Tom and Maddie show her tons of affection like grandparents?

A: Thank you so much! Yes I'm sure Tom and Maddie would be over the moon to have a grandbaby! I have the cutest vision in my head of them having to buy doll clothes for her since she's so little.

A: The Shadora Horde are aware of their lineage [x] [x], but no they don't have a relationship with Black Doom at all. If Black Doom were alive, Shadow definitely wouldn't let him anywhere near his kids.

A: My Gal came about simply because I thought, if Sonic were to ask Amy out, how would it go? Although I love sappy romance and angst, I actually prefer writing comedies so I put it in the Sonic Boom universe because I could go super silly with it! Though, I still think their date might go sort of like the events of My Gal no matter what universe it takes place in 😉 As far as why I first started shipping Sonamy, it was simply by learning who Amy was in the first place! The moment I saw her and got to know her character I thought, oh, this girl is the one. I wrote a very detailed post about it a long time ago if you'd like to read it! It wasn't meant to persuade anyone, it was just meant to illustrate why I'm so passionate about those two!

Anon asked: Your Sonamy art always gives me life and I love whenever you draw them smooching😘😘 Question: Do you have any art of Sonamy making out? Or if you know of another artists could you point me to them? I'm having cravings!!

A: Thank you so much! Honestly I feel like I draw them making out all the time 🤣 The entire ending and Epilogue of My Gal is just them kissing constantly haha! I'm working on some birthday drawings that should satisfy that craving of yours 👀

Anon asked: Hope I’m not annoying but what are Shadow’s, Sonic’s and Amy’s orientations(sexualities)? I know you answered What are shadora children sexualities but I really am curious about this. Also,love your art💜🙌

A: You're not annoying and thank you for the compliment! Honestly I can only answer for my own characters because they are 100% made by me. Unless SEGA officially confirms what Sonic, Shadow, and Amy's preferences are then I can't say for certain. We can all just imagine what we want.

Anon asked: Are Sonic and Amy still an active couple when their grandparents? And what do you mean by active e-vay? 😏Plz explain if you want😊…. I’m very curious 😂

A: Anon, you are too funny. You can't ask me a question and then follow it up by "what do you mean" when it was your question! 🤣 Yes they're still very active, however you mean it to mean! 😜

Anon asked: Do you think boom sonic has feelings for amy as well?

A: Absolutely I do! He was so sweet on her in that show!

Anon asked: What if sonamy was a same gender couple?

A: I've said it before but I'll say it again: As long as they're together and they're happy, I'm happy!

A: Hi! Wow, that's really difficult for me to pick. Boom was definitely the most fun for me. That show made me laugh so hard and Sonic and Amy were both so handsome and pretty, and they were so funny the way they interacted. I am still 100% of the belief that they were secretly dating during that show!!! But Modern has the most potential. It can be fun and it can be serious, so if they ever wanted to take Sonic down a romantic path I think it would be more meaningful in the Modern context.

This Mafia Bucky means business.

Now... Did you unknowingly tap into this image as exactly the Bucky I have tucked away on a story I've told no one about?

And because I'm feeling a little wild this Wednesday, WHY NOT LIFT SOMETHING OUT OF THE MESSY WIP AND PUT IT OUT THERE???

Working title for the AU is currently Shedding My Velvet...

Bucky turns to his head to the left, and Steve monitoring the security cameras and on comms with him, asks, "What do you see?"

“Green cardigan,” Bucky specifies.

To his credit, Steve doesn't let much of the smirk Bucky knows he must be smirking to bleed through his tone as he responds on the ear piece. "Got it. Running her through the database now."

One he takes his seat in the crowd, Bucky only glances back your way twice more before the boss of the Bronx finally shows up for their meeting.

Quill’s not late, they arranged to arrive at staggered times to draw less attention, but Bucky never likes to wait. Still, he chose to arrive first because he didn’t want Quill ahead of him in any way in any arena.

“Barnes,” the man says in greeting.

“Quill,” Bucky returns.

Bucky doesn’t roll his eyes, but he wants to every time he sees this man in the dark red leather jacket he’s built into his identity.

Quill waits for Bucky to speak, but Bucky doesn’t. He’s not verbose by any means, and he knows it irks Quill, especially when Bucky forces him to speak first. So he waits in the silence waiting for Quill to push the conversation they've both come here to have forward.

“Tony says you’ll agree if I agree.”

“Yes," Bucky affirms.

“Well, I agree.”

Bucky nods. He doesn’t respect Peter Quill, but he has no professional qualms. He neither trusts nor mistrusts him, but he does know Quill is a man of his word, and he’s got a track record of reliability within the accords of The Five. Bucky told Tony as much, and that’s why they were sitting on this bench. If Bucky heard it with his own ears, it would be done. He’d still monitor with a healthy amount of skepticism as he always did, but that was modus operandi.

“Then we leave Queens to the kid.”

“Eighteen months,” Bucky states.

Bucky nods again. Out of the corner of his eye, he sees Steve stand from his bench and leave.

“And you think Danvers will stay out of it?”

Bucky scoffs, and this time he does roll his eyes. “Come on, Quill, you know Danvers has made it clear she barely deigns to deal with us and only indulges the accords to make sure she can operate her own territory as if we don’t exist.”

“All right, all right, I was just getting your read on the situation.”

“You and I are ostensibly the wildcards.”

If there were to be a turf war over trying to expand the territory and take over Queens, it would be Manhattan, the Bronx, and Brooklyn who stood to gain. Tony had already stated he would maintain status quo. Tony and Ben hadn’t been in power, but they’d both been around when the accords of the five had been fought out, and they’d battled through the chaos before the lines were drawn. Tony and Ben were old school, and they’d respected each other when they both came into power, ascending around the same time.

They were quiet again, but in this moment, the impatience on Quill’s end for Bucky’s silences had been put on pause.

“He’s young,” he finally said.

Bucky shrugged. “So were we.”

“He’s too young,” Quill qualified. It wasn’t a criticism; it was said remorsefully.

Bucky sighed. “Maybe.”

Ben Parker had been clear that his nephew Peter would take over Queens, had been unquestionably preparing him to take over, but everyone expected it to be another ten years and retirement before Ben was out of the scene, not an ascension due to a brutal murder of the mob boss, killer still unknown and at large.

After a few moments, Quill speaks again. “We done here?”

Bucky nods. They both stand, shake hands, and then turn their backs on each other and depart. Bucky looks to Steve first, then his eyes flick to the now-empty table where you had been, and then back to Steve, who falls into step with him as they walk away from the meet.

“Quill agreed to the terms,” Bucky starts. “Eighteen months from the day of Ben’s funeral to let Peter Parker step in and establish his power in Queens.”

“We knew he would.”

They both slip into the back of the black SUV at the curb, and once they’re settled in, Bucky turns to Steve. “Now tell me what you really want to tell me. You’re hardly keeping the grin off your face.”

Steve then lets the smile break freely - but it's warm, not gloating. “As it is the first time you have ever had me look into the identity of a stranger you’ve developed a crush on at first sight, you can’t blame me for being incredibly happy about this.”

Bucky grunts.

“I’ve got preliminary findings for you from Joaquin,” he starts.

“Torres?” Bucky protests. “You put the new kid on this?”

“He is our intelligence guy. Who else would I put on it?”

Bucky rolls his eyes.

“He’s younger than us,” Steve continues, “doesn’t make him a kid. We’re past the days when we were the young guys in this business. You’ve been nothing but impressed with him up to this point, and he’s coming up on a year with us.”

“Fine. Continue.”

“I already told him to keep this close to the chest. You, me, him – not even Sam.”

“Sam is the last person who gets to learn about anything like this.”

Steve laughs. “He’s already got her identity narrowed down to two possibilities and he’s confident he’ll have the full dossier ready to report by the time you come out of your meeting with Tony.”

i just finished my rewatch (thank god my local cinema is cheap as hell) and i wish i took photos for drawing reference because i am SHAKING with the need to make stuff, but i was too busy taking notes!! please imagine me in the darkened theatre furiously scribbling in a notebook the entire movie, like a totally normal person who is sooooooooo normal about things.

ill be back with. more discussion stuff and also sizey thoughts because i was watching and thinking abt Sentinel keeping a human and hrhhhrhgghhhhh,,, so good. That gets an ask of its own though.

Ugh out of sight out of mind is the perfect way to describe it. I’m kind of brain rotting about the g/t tfone au now…… in my head I’ve now dubbed it the “cogless borrowers” au hehee. Perhaps I should make a tag for it if enough people are interested? 🤔

Ggggod that visual is so good. Sentinel’s massive, flashy and polished blue hand reaching out to pluck two faded little cogless miners from their spots, and placing them on his huge shoulder pauldrons. Wasn’t he a bot of the people? Looking out for even the poor, unfortunate little guys in their merciless world? Oh, make sure the camera gets his good side— there, yes, perfect. As he was saying, all he wanted to do was do right by his people… and his search for the Matrix would never cease until that day arrived, he swears it.

Right, little ones? As he shifts his shoulders up and down to jostle Orion and D-16 in their spots, and they have to cling desperately to his freshly waxed armor, all while Sentinels laughs boastfully. Oh, but it was all in good spirit, he promised! These miners were going to get all the energon they wanted after this.

About the Touhou drawing, even though it really underperformed, it did the thing that I really love about obscure crossovers: there were some people who connected the dots and went “ah!”. It ended up being a drawing for a very specific audience lol But I am extremely happy that those who liked it did like it, including you! It means a lot that we still get support on stuff that doesn’t necessarily click with a lot of people.

Katsu said it the other day, but I’ll say it too: we really don’t want to seem ungrateful because all the support we receive is honestly insane and we’re really happy that we could be this self-indulgent about stuff that we post. It motivates both of us a lot, and I feel like no matter how much I thank you all, it’ll never feel like I’ve said it enough time to express just how much we appreciate it properly.

So yeah. Cheesiness aside, as long as it’s fun, let’s keep doing it.

I’m pretty sure I talked about this before, but I can’t find the post right now, so I’ll answer again!

Jade and Floyd are interesting because even though they act together a lot of times, they don’t really like being “a set” to each other, so I guess whether they would do something like this or not really depends on a lot of stuff. I do love to sandwich one character between them, and I tend to do it with Idia because of course I do lol But it still doesn’t feel like a poly ship to me, more like two creeps harassing poor guy because he amuses them…

I agree that it would be an interesting dynamic to see Jade and Floyd fighting for a piece of meat someone else’s attention because it would showcase their pettier side, like two kids hissing at each other. But in practice, I don’t really know who would fit to be that one person these two would fight for like that 🤔 They are too good at minding their business when it comes to each other’s love affairs.

I’m waiting for an epiphany on this one.

This is a hot idea, Anon! Silver is very good at being a good boy trying to please others, even if they’re clearly just trying to belittle and abuse him. Of course he would tolerate anything, of course he would patiently do anything they ask him to do because changing their minds and appeasing them would be this important to him.

Can you draw a tutorial for full bodies, similar to what you did for faces and heads?

I probably will, but not right away bc I feel like I’m still figuring out anatomy too😅😅 I’m working on it a lot though (the sketches on this blog are mainly so I can keep practicing more dynamic poses & draw more than just a face) & I’m jotting down a lot of tips that are helping me as I learn💓💓 once I have enough I’ll definitely do a write-up & share it with you guys though!! (And I’ll definitely do one for hands too bc I love drawing hands!)

Here are my tips in the meantime, that I’m doing right now (if you’re interested);

1) LOTS of figure drawing, I like to do exercises where I give myself 10 min to draw something, then 5, then 1, then 30 seconds (4 drawings total, I normally just split a page into fourths). Drawing from gifs helps a lot too bc the people are moving and not static.

2) study the masters!! I have huge art books full of gorgeous quality prints, of baroque art, Renaissance, Impressionism…(you can probably find some at the library). This also helps SO MUCH with clothing draping/folds etc. these artists already did the work figuring out how to exaggerate things to make them look as beautiful as possible and we can learn from them😇

3) do studies of your favorite artists on social media!! It helps you figure out WHAT you like about their art, and how you can incorporate it into your own style. (I don’t do this but I should jajajaja). Some of my inspirations on Instagram are: withapencilinhand (super nsfw, look at your own risk😅), hamletmachine, Paul Heaston, Tony DiTerlizzi, etc etc (I can do a full write-up of my fav artists but the list is sooooooo long)

3) focus on drawing rough lines of movement, and build on top of those with shapes. But always focus on getting fluid and natural looking poses 💓 (or just draw noodle limbs like I do) (don’t do that). If I get really lost I force people to take pictures of me and then copy from that 😅 but I know a lot of professional artists & every single one uses references. So don’t be afraid to use them or feel like you’re “cheating” for not being able to just draw something straight from your brain. Bodies are hard to draw! Perspective is hard! Shadows/lighting are hard!

4) think of the bodies you’re drawing as solid forms, and think about line weight & shadows. It helps a lot!!

5) @traceyc-uk shared an amazing article in the comments that explains everything a million times better than I ever could about adding life and movement to poses so they don’t look static🙏😇 I’m linking it here since you can’t click on links in comments🥲

These ones are master studies, and I was focusing on line weight, line direction, shadows etc etc

Here are some of my under sketches so you can see how messy and confusing it is before I erase them all and start to go in with the black pencil😅

Pre inked:

🪕 he can play many different instruments but banjo is his favorite

🥃 his favorite drink is whiskey

☠️ he is a very serious and grouchy guy who rarely smiles , but hides a lot of how he is when others aren't around

🕳 my version of Sammy had blue eyes and blonde hair, which changed w the ink, he also has freckles when in the sun, they're more noticeable in sunlight

🎹 he likes dogs , they are one of his favorite animals

🎂 his favorite food is chocolate cake

🎻 he is dramatic and picky and people consider him hard to work with and mean. So he doesn't have many friends he hangs with. But he does seem to enjoy the company of Norman and occasionally jack,, and susie

🎵 he is a perfectionist , and pretty ocd about things especially getting messy or things not going right

🚬 he smokes a lot. Susie gets concerned about it often

🎙 he acts different around susie than anyone else. She warms his cold heart and brings down his walls easily. He loves her voice and looks a lot. And how nice she was to him despite his rep and how he acted often

🥁 he wasn't considered famous in music til he met Joey who helped him gain fame from making music for the bendy cartoons , another reason sammy knew he needs the job , can't quit so easily despite everything , Joey was using him for his ability mostly tho

☕️ he grew up near the Appalachian mountains. He finds that area soothing and used to vacation there.

🎼 he has a softer, less serious side he rarely shows , and hides emotions a lot , susie knows this , loves his other side he hides away from everyone

Inked:

💫 light bothers him and can heat him up to melting point , and hurt his eyes so he hates the projectionists light and avoids it or tries to at least

🖤 once the ink began getting to him he cut his hair short for a reason: the ink would stain the blonde and would not come out no matter what he tried so he eventually gave up after getting so much ink in it on a daily basis, Susie found the black streaks still cute looking lol

😇 the ink became addictive , first drop he immediately craved more, immediately heard the voices

🎶 but eventually it started to change his very body, it slowly was becoming ink, melting into ooze, and his hair was turning darker, and black and eventually disappeared until he became what he is now , the day of his coworkers murders was the day he completely lost himself and became a ink puddle, and eventually, his ink self,Joey saw this and tried to simply sweep it up a rug despite the fact he almost got killed that day too, he even left the ink sammy in the music department to do whatever. Simply walking off. Forgetting what happened. Leaving the studio.

🍰 susie liked any haircut he had so she didn't mind.

🕯he grew up on a farm before getting into music

✒️ his eyes turned golden and shining after the ink fully got to him

😈 he has barely any mind left, his head is basically just full of ink now lol

🐑 he can melt and reform as a ink person, makes it easy to come back like he does, not good in the rain tho, getting soggy

🙏 something draws him towards susie even if he has barely any memories left in him

💛 he hears voices of the ink demon in his head quite often

🪓 he does get flashes of old memories at times. Certain things make him remember.

👿he can travel through ink puddles as a ink person.

⚠️ as a ink person now he's the complete opposite of what he used to be personality wise, just crazy insane and mind just goopy ink , the ink really effected him

💀 he misses his old hair a whole lot

🩸 he remembers nothing not even the fact he killed and tortured all his coworkers out of insanity from poisonous ink, Joey tried to cover up everything of coarse. He blamed it on stress or something.

Just a little something for chapter 2 of my Good Omens fan fiction. And... and... I think I like drawing Aziraphale more than drawing Crowley. There, I said it. I mean... look at him! 😇💖 Also, I'm finally happy about the way I draw them. I think. There's still a hint of Michael Sheen and David Tennant to spot, sure, but also enough of my own interpretation. I hope.

And here's a tiny bit to read from said chapter, which consists mostly of a stretched out thought from a nervous angel. But now he gets some tea.

„Your tea, angel.“

The demon stood in the doorway, with a white mug in one hand and a black one in the other hand. He had taken off his jacket and set aside his glasses, just as he usually did in the bookshop, making himself more comfortable. And Aziraphale was fond of that, especially when he could get a glimpse at those beautiful eyes. Yellow had been his favorite color for a while now, unsurprisingly.

„You really did not have to…“

„I won’t drink two mugs of this stuff. Go on, take it.“

Aziraphale took the white one which Crowley handed him. He immediately noticed that the tea was just at the right temperature. It smelled fantastic as well. So, he simply held onto the mug for a brief, yet enjoyable moment. He closed his eyes.

„Thank you, dear,“ the angel said with a pleased smile after inhaling some of the fragrant steam and then took a sip, carefully, though it clearly wasn’t too hot. „It’s perfect.“

This panel is giving you a closer look at how there’s going to be a serious fight and shit is actually about to go down. Gun and James here look like inhumane beings who are about to go all out, and we’re finally going to see the full strength of what Gun is actually capable of. James Lee will be a potential fighter against Gun and we’ll be able to see that in the next chapter. Who will peril in the end?
