Here are some of my HI3rd Au Nemi pieces! Anything related to that au is just angst- I still don't feel like explaining the lore in detail so I'll just rapid fire it:

-Junqiao is a herscherr

-Junqiao possessed Nemi (via gem)

-Junqiao is a homewrecker bc he slowly made Leona fall for him while possessing Nemi's body

-Nemi got forced to become a valkyrie against their will after regaining a bit of control from Junqiao

-end game plan is for Nemi to give up their body and consciousness over to Junqiao since they no longer have anything to really "fight" for as Leona loves Junqiao now instead of them :D

-all Nemi wanted was a simple life, no valkyries, no honkai, just a simple life by Leona's side (but even that is a pipe dream eh?)

Nemi's hair has been slowly shifting from purple to a more blue tone! It's also slowly getting longer, but I think it's going to settle around the shoulders!

When she was a little kid, the only way Kyle got her to eat her vegetables was when he will eat them in front of her and say something like “you can’t eat it because it’s grown up food.” She will then beg to eat them because she was “grown enough” to eat vegetables. Grew up to really love cooked broccoli

Kyle calls/texts her as much as he can (literally misses her so much and bawled his eyes out when he helped her move to her dorm). But, she does face time her family around the weekends 🥲

gets along with Grandpa Randy 😭 and it sends Stan into cardiac arrest every time he drags her to one of his adventures

likes to get into deep talks and debates with Kyle. When they disagree on something, they get louder and louder to prove their point. It never gets too serious tho cuz most of the time, Isa is just trying to rile her dad up by hitting him with some shit like “well if you don’t agree, then you hate women 🥱. You don’t hate women, right dad? 🫢 unless….” and Kyle would just go “WHERE DID THAT EVEN COME FROM?!? WHAT?!?! HELLO?!!”

Has the same laugh Stan has, they even snort the same way

Omigosh! I've been searching for MONTHS your Jinafire Long redesign. I really adored it and I wanted to see it again for some inspiration for a restyle but I could never find it yet again.

Hi hi hi!! I’m so glad you liked the redesign!! It’s kinda outdated and I know I could do a better job now but here it is ! I also thought it was funny that the show ended up using the same pun I did with Fanghai/Shanghai lmaoo

That’s so funny I was literally just watching the music video for her character as this ask came in oml. I actually quite like her retool in g3!!!

I love that they kept the gold aspect of her in her limbs and tail rather than making her skin completely yellow for one, and that goes hand in hand with the emphasis on luxury. Especially since she’s from Shanghai (or Fanghai) which is considered a pretty bougie city lmao. Also she’s a water elemental now!!! Yippee!!

Love the jade on her, love the cloud print, the reds, the wave and water motifs on her skirt and the knotwork on her other ear (中国结/Chinese knot— it’s a really frequently used piece of folk art that has ties to Buddhist and Taoist traditions representing good luck)

The shape of her top also calls back to 肚兜 (dǔdōu), which is a more traditional style of top that I guess you can call a bodice.

I will say though I prefer her hairstyle in the show version with the braids rather than the dyed streaks (and it calls back to older more traditional Chinese hairstyles). Her design feels very modern already, so having more traditional touches are interesting to me because it not only strengthens her cultural identity but also implies her age and longevity since lóng are practically immortal.

I also think her more greenish skin tone could be a reference to the 青龙 （qīnglóng) Azure dragon constellation (there’s no perfect translation for 青 into the English language so some people will say it’s blue but it’s highly context dependent— here, it’s greenish)

Overall I’m really happy with the extra thought and consideration put into the redesign, and that the character is overall less stereotypical while displaying so much Chinese culture in her design!!

Its so weird seeing miraculous be more queer nowadays but still being a somewhat poorly produced product for the mid 2010s owned by DISNEY. and its like yeah no the main characters will never be allowed to be queer. But what if it was being released today rather than 10 years ago? How would the characters change? Would the writing be different?

Its just how miraculous has changed to fit eith the times. I dont think it will ever stop feeling kind of outdated but the change in focus to problems that are very important for kids who watch the show are very cool to see.

A background focus on the environment and justice and protest, queerness, opposition to unethical tech development, and opposition to ablism.

Its interesting, not perfect. I still think the writing is stuck in the same place as it was 10 years ago, but theyre including these things that kids care more about.
