Starting a new sewing project! I always forget that I can just. Make things. Like I took classes and practiced sewing for many years. I have the skills. My bedroom needs curtains and I'm so picky about my room decor and all the ones I'm finding are ugly or expensive, so after christmas I'm going to stop being lazy and go to the fabric store and actually make them

Ah yes making dolls includes wonderful moments like having cursed bald Sherlock sitting next to you on a shelf

He is made up almost entirely of fleece, all hand-sewn. His shirt and some of his eyes are felt (also the scar on his foot). He's stuffed with polyfill . He's weighed down with lentils 😭 His pattern is made custom by me :) I'm not sure exactly how long he took, but I'd guess some amount of months. Maybe 2, but maybe only a few weeks of collective actual work days

He does also have a dog toy type squeaker in him

i stopped using them years ago, when i saw they were getting old (not pictured sadly i forgot lol) i wanted to do something with the fabric. it's too cool not to. the example bits came from the hidden heel i butchered before knowing how to do it properly like the one on top lol imma update whenever i do stuff or whatever k bye

My next tote bag! I’ve got the first round of ironing done, all the pieces cut out, and the pockets sewn so the next step is another round of ironing and that’s going to wait for tomorrow

Finished upcycling my Dad's old shirt just in time for the holiday! All done by hand bc I don't trust sewing machines not to jam on me avsksv

Also here it is wrapped bc I worked hard on that too lol (+ my mom's gift which I did not spend hours of work on but still wrapped nicely :])

i really enjoyed my layover in seoul, i got out of the airport on a transit visa and took the express metro to the city and was amazed at how much it was like new delhi tbh. obviously i didn't understand any of the signage so i got lost sometimes and the food options would be very limited for vegetarians but it was amazing. definitely much cheaper than i expected too! i had a nice 5 hour day trip and shopped for souvenirs and spent maybe 50 usd. planning a vacation in the next. 3 years or something.

thought I’d try asking here- other than eBay/Etsy are there any sites you guys like that have antique and vintage sewing supplies? Specifically lace, trims, and ribbons! if there are specific shops you recommend from eBay/Etsy though I’d love to see that too!
