Watching Friday the 13th for the first time and I’m really loving how the use of POV shots in the first act of the movie sets up a lot more suspenseful shots later in the film by making the audience question whether the shot on screen is or isnt POV at the moment

like jlm will always be my favourite knightley bc he simply is the one that is the most Knightley as i knew him in the book and i am a purist about that HOWEVER. johnny flynn brings a certain gravitas to the role that i do appreciate. like on one hand i find him too stiff and uneasy generally (especially when interacting with people that aren't emma) and I KNOW THATS PURPOSEFUL IVE READ THE INTERVIEWS but alas not my idea of of the effortlessly easy friend to all knightley which jlm does so perfectly. on the other hand you really do believe that johnny flynns knightley has just realised that's he deeply fucked

...that doesn't mean i didn't write a fix-it, but the series definitely ended exactly the way it should have, even though it hurt so bad :(

Chains of Heart is unironically one of my fave BLs of 2023. Is it messy? Are there far too many named background characters with nothing to do (but all with their own novels - I guess they cast them as fanservice)? Was it in dire need of a script editor? Yes to all of this but the tragedy of it all was just so good! It just won't let me go. I still rewatch parts of this series regularly when I almost never rewatch anything.

The novel even has a happy ending so the script writers deliberately chose to let it end in tragedy and I can respect that. It's like a bad video game ending where you made all the wrong choices. In hindsight every well-intentioned choice Din/Lue made just leads to disaster - until all that's left of him is revenge.

I just love Chains of Heart so, so much.

That being said, Cha-aim (Phayu) and Kut (Din) both have new leading roles for 2024. What about Haii and Boom? They were both incredible as Ken and Lue. I need them back on my screen so bad!

Watched my grandparents make calls on the rotary phone. Liked to stim with the dial while watching TV in their room. But i wasn't really old enough to be making phone calls.

Didn't really use the computer much on my own until I was 7 or 8 and my mom had a laptop and I mostly just played educational games on CD-ROM before that so while I'd seen floppy disks we weren't really using them in my house

Im not sure id seen a vinyl record in person til I was maybe 10. I knew what they were from movies and stuff but nobody I spent any amount of time with had any (tho apparently my moms cousin who's only about 10 years older than me collects them but I never really went to his house so I didn't know that til a few years ago lol)

Ive listened to cassette. My grandparents had a radio in their home office that played cassettes and I used to listen to Rudolph the red nosed reindeer on repeat for hours on it when I was little (and yet no one wondered if I may be autistic lol.) But ive never recorded anything on cassette.

I am very glad we never had dial up in my house. My noise sensitive ass could not have handled that lol. I know what it sounds like. I know it made an awful noise. I would not have been a fan.

I dont know if I would have sent postcards even before 2000.....every time I've bought a postcard its because I wanted it for me lol. With the exception of the wooden one I got as a souvenir for my friend when I went to Colorado (tho I do wish id gotten one for myself)

My dictionary was a childrens dictionary i got at school. Dictionaries and encyclopedias just aren't something my family would have...we read a lot but those would just take up shelf space lol

Ive never personally paid with a paper check but I have received paper checks as payment at work and i know how to fill out a check.

I found a Youtube channel of some local, uhm, blue light enthusiasts? Basically people SUPER into everything EMS and stuff and super into the vehicles lol.

Anyway, not sure how I feel about videos taken RIGHT outside my work filming the yard entrance with just. Documenting which Great Amazing Cars come out and why (like, sometimes with history of the individual car?).

I don't think it's anyone who works here or at least not on a regular basis, because usually people are like "the ambulance fan people are back and I'm uneasy ;_;" when they station outside lol.

Like. Good hobby? Love this shit? Love cars, too, love big cars, love ambulances? But somehow it's scary to get filmed and not talked to, because people are... fans of your work. (We have literally no entrance requirements lmao come join us it's what I did lmao.)

Was glad to see they pixilate our faces tho because every time they happen to film my car I make this O_O deer in the headlight "I'm autistic and I don't like my picture taken" face gdjrzjfz.

Like, I really don't wanna shit on their hobby, but I think I'd be more at ease to be filmed at like. The hospital. Where all our cars inevitably congregate anyway. Than actually being filmed driving the car out of the garage and onto the street at our home station. Where we just. Exist.

Oh, I think I get it, you know?

"Outside", like at a hospital, we are actively in Work Mode and whatever, document the Work and the Vehicles as long as you're not being a nuisance.

But when we're just leaving the station, we're only Getting Into Work Mode and also it's our place to just. Exist. Chill. Not in Work Mode. (It's something like a home tbh.)

Anyway, much rambling.

I don't wanna shit on their hobby, I just don't personally feel at ease with people filming us at the entrance of our home lol. Wait at the hospitals, maybe. Dunno. It's uncomfortable to me, personally. Not forbidding anyone anything and also maybe I just don't Get it. (The cars are amazing ok big reason I choose the job. They're so good.)
