I made this shaker keychain for myself, and I love how it came out! Some oopsies happened on the way, but I still think it's my best resin creation yet.

Also, I was at the German Football Museum in Dortmund today for work reasons and decided that would be a fun occasion for this keychain's first outing, lol. I would have liked to take a more... representative picture, but I had no time to ಥ_ಥ

nothing gives me more joy than waking up to a beautiful sunny morning and knowing that I can sit in my home the whole day and either make my resin shakers or listen to horror stories or edit my little videos... bro? not to sound like the most hermit of hermits but I've accepted that nothing has ever felt more comfortable and happy than this. I don't think my life is very exciting, nor do I need it to be but I don't get bored being myself. I don't despise living a very normal and plain life, and if I could I'd love to do this for a living. I don't hate going outside but I don't want to or need to do it everyday especially when I fucking work everyday anyways like??? my form of relaxation is straight up being at home and eating chocolate turtle chips and I wouldn't want it any other way 😭

Oh yea, while I wait for my drawing pen to charge, I don't think I ever shared the little resin things I like to make in my down time. I had like twelve haunted cassettes but they all sold out, and I didn't take the haunted tamagotchi ones with me to my last convention. I love making little glitter water shakers and stuff! Info and Intro

Hello there, this is a blog dedicated to the niche aesthetic that I dub "ita kei". I have never coined an aesthetic or fashion style before, and to be honest this isn't really my "coining" anyway- I just sought to put a name to it! This post will contain a good deal of information, so I will put it under a "read more".

What is ita kei?

Ita kei is a kei (type) aesthetic involving fashion, aesthetics, and household items that utilize some kind of transparent container or pocket. Ita bags are by far the most popular ita fashion item out there, as they are backpacks/purses/bags with a clear protective window to display merchandise and decorations:

Another ita fashion item that has risen in popularity is the ita jacket. The majority of these jackets are designed and produced by Jellypinch apparel, a major source of inspiration for this aesthetic:

However, ita items, while the core of this aesthetic, are not the only thing under this label. The actual definition is intentionally left loose, but ita kei includes items that have some sort of translucent container section with an inclusion of sorts meant for decoration. To lead by example:

The inspiration behind coining ita kei

I have noticed all of these different scattered fashion items and art that has the same core idea behind it: what if you made something silly into a container, when it normally isn't? The charm of a rose under a glass dome, of an acrylic pocket keeping an enamel pin safe, and of a cute toy rolling around in a gachapon ball all hold the same endearing similarity in my mind.

I thought it very fitting to use the term "ita" (stemming from the Japanese word "itai", a term akin to "ouch") as the ita bag community likens its hobby to pain. The pain of spending a lot of time and money on an ita bag, as well as all the pins poking you! But there is another layer of pain to the aesthetic of seeing something so very pretty locked behind a glass, acrylic, or plastic barrier :0

"Kei" aesthetics usually involve a heavy visual fashion style too. In this way, ita kei is like visual cousins with decora kei; the spirit of maximalism drives them both! Ita items are very popular fashion elements, and making a maximalist ita fit is the inspiration behind the "kei" part of this aesthetic.

Not sure if something qualifies as ita kei? Feel free to ask! This is my first "public" blog per se and absolutely my first time coining an aesthetic of any kind, so the definition will get stronger with time as I learn to navigate it and this blog.

Okay so obviously I'm quite like fandom orientated? Like idk how to word it I just see what I enjoy and latch onto it like a baby koala.

So I was looking for resin stuff on tiktok and found these:

They're resin shakers that involve stickers/fandom images. Like, logically it would be so obvious to merge the two but I hadn't seen any until today???

Anyway I'm so happy (especially as a lot of them seem to be idol/music themed) AND they're resin. If all goes well, I'd love to be able to make some one day!
