Reblog to let your followers know that despite your current obsession your previous obsessions still exist and are simply lying dormant until they awaken and strike again
#yes i'm currently into [redacted] but trust me. trust me.#(i'm only not telling bc i'm embarrassed that after six years of sticking to one fandom i've gained TWO new obsessions within this year)#(also i'm scared of the fandom)

Staring Down the Grim Reaper
A short vignette fic, a snapshot of Ryousuke's mind before the Shinigami battle.
I started this for Halloween but only had the energy to finish it today, but it's also kind of a way to settle my gripe about the anime adaptation of this battle.
Shinigami's car is WAY too nice, too clean, perfectly polished and everything, in the anime whereas in the manga it's scuffed and dull, the wheels are mismatched, the tail lights are cracked, it looks grimy and worn and like it's owned by someone who only cares that it runs and neglects everything else.
Which, tbh, I kinda relate to since my Impreza is the same way, I gave up on life years ago and rely on escapism (and alcoholism, and stimulants) to keep me going. It's fast and I'm good, but god if it ain't a beater with a fist-sized dent in the oil pan that somehow never leaked and a bumper held on with deck screws...
Anyway, here's the fic, hope you like it.

If you're a writer you're supposed to write a lot of bullshit. It's part of the gig. You have to write a lot of absolute garbage in order to get to the good bits. Every once in a while you'll be like "Oh, I wish I hadn't wasted all that time writing bullshit," but that's dumb. That's exactly the same as an Olympic runner being like "Oh, I wish I hadn't wasted all that time running all those practice laps"

"you're the writer, you control how the story goes" no not really. i wrote the first sentence and then my characters said "WE WILL TAKE IT FROM HERE" and promptly swerved into an electrical fence.

i love when an author truly understands a character so well that they can just put said character in any situation and still have them act correctly. like yeah okay hes a cat cafe owner. hes a middle school teacher. hes a dog. and hes acting exactly how he would act if he was a dog.

So I thought this was commonly known internet navigation (but apparently it might just be those of us who have been using the internet since the 90’s who still know it). Or so it seems based on… a grumpy comment I got.
When you see an arrow like this:
It means you click it to expand out a hidden section.
It’s an accordion section/menu! It’s useful in web design to hide information that may be overwhelming under specific headers so people can only see what they need.
Here I’m using it for people who need the content warnings to be able to check, but for those who don’t need them and don’t want to be spoiled to just move right past without accidentally reading anything.
It’s still the user’s responsibility to click the arrow and read things as they need! But it is all warned. (And, yes, the all encompassing issues are already a tag on the fic, I’m just providing additonal warnings per chapter.)

It's such an amazing feeling when someone picks up on something in your writing that you 100% intended but didn't think people would notice. Like, YES!! My writing properly conveyed the thing it was supposed to!!! You are so awesome for noticing that!!! I am so awesome for writing that!!! I feel so good about my story now!!!!
