i can hardly believe the bait and switch that elrond and the rings of power pulled on us this season. in the beginning, he is far too busy self-righteously blaming poor galadriel for falling for sauron's tricks. but then he puts on armour, lets his wild curls free, and transforms into a warrior-librarian covered in mud and blood, punching orcs in the face, and setting other orcs on fire. and i loved it.

Hi! What about Will x Merlin??

Hi there!!!

Will x Merlin… first of all, I get the idea. I completely understand where this ship comes from and why it exists.

But to me, they’re platonic. I like the idea that, as young children, Merlin and Will were like, “hey you ever heard of kissing? You wanna try?” And then they did a quick peck and laughed and went “ew Nevermind”.

Will is very protective of Merlin and I honestly think there’s probably a slightly codependent side to their relationship, at least on Wills side of things. it seemed like there weren’t many others their age in the village so I imagine they leaned on each other heavily and Will was probably devastated Merlin left.

But I still see it as mostly a platonic thing. The most I can imagine between them is a one sided love. Where Will always harbored a secret crush on Merlin but it was not returned. I actually kind of like that idea because it’s tragic and puts an interesting spin on Wills attitude towards Arthur.

The more I wrote this post, the more interested I became. A one sided pining.

i posted this to Pillowfort earlier but a couple days ago i did an unfinished redraw of this older sketch from 2023 of Salesman Barry and High-rank Craig together :3 Barry had a really rough day trying to sell his gramophones and he's struggling to deal with his financial issues and pressure to uphold a family tradition, and Craig can understand how he feels as he has to work for a pretty shitty boss (cough cough brains), and his job as a scientist, while enjoyable, was partially pursued out of being pressured as well.

additionally: i have created a digital redraw that's still a work in progress but i thought it looked good so i'm posting it :) i have been trying a newer style from my earlier digital stuff and i think it works well with the Jetpack Joyride characters!!

the Pillowfort post has an earlier version with slightly different tears and colouring and stuff, i wanted to put a more up to date version here. also fanon Craig with colour for the first time!?!?!?!?? what!!! i like to think Craig wore a similarish kind of outfit to Runingunin when he first appears in Brains' lab in AOZ. i like to think Craig would wear a "Trust Data Not Lore" t-shirt underneath his coat loll

thinking about my blorbos (the entire subculture of the telerin elves) again. does anyone happen to have any thoughts or headcanons on what they wear as swimwear? in my head different elven cultures have varying opinions on what's considered scandalous and some who are generally more "conservative" than others (i've seen a few people write about the noldor loving hair and considering touching it to be very intimate, for example, which i LOVEEEEEEE) and i like to think because most of their traditions and day-to-day life is spent near the ocean or swimming in it that they're a lot less bothered by nudity, but i'm not sure being naked would be practical all the time

i've tried to look up what people in our world used to wear before what we recognise as the swimsuit was invented, but all i could find involved veeeery heavy, uncomfortable garments meant to conceal women's bodies at all cost (and in some cases the men just went full commando) which doesn't match my thought process at all. as far as i can tell, there aren't a lot of fabrics that could mimic what we use in their time period and what they used as undergarments wouldn't be suitable in the water at all. if anyone has any thoughts PLEASE let me know i spend way too much time being bothered by this already
