I know Tim is usually portrayed as a "thinks mayonnaise is proper seasoning" white guy, but I love the idea of mixed Tim, especially half east Asian Tim, and even MORE specifically, half Japanese Tim. Idk why it just makes sense in my brain. Every Tim I write is half Japanese in my mind even if it doesn't make it to the final product.

I also like the idea of white passing, half Korean Tim. Imagine everyone thinking he can't handle spice because they've seen Bruce trying to eat takis and he almost died, but Tim grew up with his mother's kimchi which was made to burn through solid steel and has an unhealthy obsession with spicy noodles (think buldak, shin ramyun, etc). This guy could eat California Reapers like grapes without so much as flushing and is honestly terrifying to witness (i guess this scenario would also work with Japanese!Tim, but tbh I know more about spicy Korean food than spicy Japanese food).

Morning Routines

We're all looking at those Instagram influencers who somehow manage to wake up at 5 am, do meditation, journal, do a 15-step Korean skincare routine, and go to the gym. And then they make a green smoothie and avocado toast, get dressed in a Chanel outfit and then sit at their fancy desk with a vanilla latte and a croissant.

This is not realistic. You probably already know that, but it likely won't stop you from trying to change your routine bit by bit to look a little like theirs. That didn't stop me, at least.

But now I've come to realise that no matter how much I try, I'll never be able to have a routine like the ones I see online. Because it doesn't exist. It's all curated for aesthetic appeal and generates a sense of false productivity in the watcher's brain. We feel motivated looking at those videos and never get around to changing our own life because we're too busy living vicariously through our phones.

Here's some things you should add to your morning routine, not to be fancy, but to feel better. This is coming from someone who's tried the unrealistic routines, and I now incorporate all of these into my routine. You can skip or add things according to your schedule.

S-T-R-E-T-C-H: Do your body a favour and loosen up your muscles. Nothing better than having a good stretch that wakes your body up.

Drink water: Before you put anything in your system, drink water. Not coffee, not tea. Plain warm water. And I don't mean lemon water. Some people might not agree, but lemon water strips your teeth of the enamel. It also is acidic, so all that bullshit they talk about it being "alkaline and pH balancing" is nonsense. Warm water is the way to go.

Make your bed: A clean bed should be the first thing you do after you wake up. At the end of the day, you'll thank yourself because it will be clean, and fresh and you can fall into bed immediately.

Hygiene: Wash your face to get rid of crusty eyes and sleep. Do a basic skincare routine (cleanser, moisturizer) so you'll feel fresher. Brush your teeth and hair.

Move your body: It doesn't matter what you do, even if it's for 15 minutes. Go for a walk, do a Zumba workout, or squeeze in a HIIT session. You can find lots of tutorials on YouTube (Caroline Girvan, growingannanas, Chloe Ting). Either way, working out will help you feel more motivated and happier. It's the endorphins.

Clean yourself: Set aside some time for showering, slathering on lotion, and doing your (real) skincare and makeup routine. Pick an outfit that makes you feel good about yourself.

Eat something: ALWAYS make some food. Your body has been famished for hours on end, give it some fuel. Make a healthy breakfast, or prep one the night before. If you don't get very hungry in the mornings, have a banana, and pack a mid-morning snack beforehand so you don't reach for chips.

Do 3 things: Make a to-do list of everything you need to do today. Don't overwhelm yourself. Then, knock off 3 easy tasks from the list that you can do quickly. You'll be filled with a sense of motivation, and it'll be easier for you to complete your list. It can be chores, it could be some assigned reading. Just get it done.

Gratitude or prayer: You don't need to sit for 15 minutes to practice gratitude. You can think of things your thankful for on the way to school or work or practice deep breathing/say a small prayer on the subway or bus. You don't HAVE to do it, but it definitely makes you realise how much you have in life and appreciate it more.

Kindness: Start your day with kindness. Compliment your barista, smile at the old lady on the street, pet the stray cat. There's so much love in the world, and you have so much love inside you, and it's beautiful to be a part of it.

No longer will I be stuck in a rut. I cannot be confined to being a bitter, unhealthy person when I know there's a smiling, healthy, happy version of me in the future. Deep breaths. You'll get there babe.

I have something to say...I was very annoyed with what I saw on X the day the news about Taeil being dropped from NCT because he is under investigation for sex crimes came out. Of course when something like this comes out people immediately try to point their fingers to the other members and question if they had known all along that someone they've been working with for 8+ years was capable of committing sex crimes. That's a valid question, I'm not going to sit here and deny it, but what annoyed me was the fact people kept talking as if anything related to the other members came out and confirmed these suspicions. What detail between Taeil and his victim has you so convinced that the other members knew what was going on? We know nothing. Nothing official about his victim and his actions have been reported so why are we running rampant with all these rumors? Not only that, but all these hypotheticals are just taking the attention away from Taeil, the one that's under investigation for sex crimes. Now you're directing your attention to people who weren't reported to have done anything to anyone. You're paying attention to speculation instead of official reports from the police. Please...

Another thing that pissed me off was the spread of unofficial information provided by random twitter users. Information that hasn't even been confirmed being spread around like it is fact. I think it's probably just me but jkk either "change" a lot or they just didn't and I'm the one overthinking. I'm talking about all the shipping stuff.

So you know jkk was and is a popular ship.

I became an Army in 2020 and i think before, in 2019, I was lurking around in bts/army stuffs. And I must say jkk has been popular since then. I fell on their videos and I was so into it. It was interesting to see so much skinship occured. At least for a bl fan.

Things started getting different when I got into taekook. I couldn't look back at all. There were times I would doubt, forget the idea of them dating and then come back and notice how obvious they were.

So of course I tended to compare the two ships a lot. First I would go on popular sites like Quora and see what was people opinions. Most of them will show undeniable taekook moments and the other half, jikk ones.

Since I was in my doubting era and I wasn't familiar with any of the korean/kpop culture living, I would take jikk skinship to a whole new level. My brain would just switch off and I'll tell myself over and over that no friends touch each other that much. Especially if I thought that taekook were a couple.

But even if I thought like that, nothing could crush my belief for taekook. It just co fused me a lot.

Years passed and 2023 put like a big hole in my head because aside from the footages we were offered by the company in 2022, I failed to remember what jikk was like back then. Anything related to them just vanished.

Let's Talk Innuendos and Queer Subtext: TXT's Poppin' Star Lyrics Analysis

One of the joys of making progress in my Korean language journey has been the ability to analyze lyrics more critically by dissecting tone, word choice, or rhyme schemes that would have otherwise slipped by me a few years ago. And as someone who has a deep love for literary analysis and kpop, there's an unparalleled joy in getting to bridge the two together. I'm happy I have this space to do that. So without further ado, let's take a look at TXT's Poppin' Star from their first full-length album, The Dream Chapter: Magic (thank you nika for requesting this!).

This song feels like a sonic representation of this memefied image:

It's literally bubblegum pop at its finest. It sounds sparkly, cute, uplifting, and deceptively adorable, and anyone who has seen the choreography can attest to watching the video with a ridiculous smile on their face.

I could give high praise endlessly about this underrated early TXT Bside, but I wanted to prioritize the lyrics for this post! We're going to talk about the superficial meaning of the song before we dissect some of the more suggestive, metaphorical elements. Heads up I'll be mentioning sexual innuendos, so if that's not your cup of tea then please kindly leave.

My goal is to get you to see that, at the very least, this song is not just about eating candy. Whether or not we agree on the queer subtext is another debate, but I'm hoping this analysis post can be a lesson on interpreting figurative language and grasping inneundos.

Whenever I do analysis, I always start with the surface level face-value of what's being presented, and then I try to peel the layers and discern the underlying themes or suggested connotations based on context clues. Usually I leave out the initial face-value in my posts because it's something so obvious that it feels contradictory to present it. But it feels relevant to include for Poppin' Star. So what is the face-value meaning of the song when we look at the lyrics as a whole?

On the surface, this song appears to be about a young male protagonist who experiences a burst of emotions - dizzying warmth, sweetness, and a clouded brain - after he eats a variety of flavored candies. He states that he is not satisfied with the burst of flavor he's experiencing - now that he knows this intense feeling, he's craving more.

It doesn't take much of an analytical eye to catch the innuendo presented in Poppin' Star. What exactly is an innuendo? An innuendo is an allusive hint to something typically sexual. The keyword here is hint - it's something you pick up on based on subtly provocative language. Critics could argue that "your brain must be in the gutter" if you find sexual context where there is supposedly none. I'd say blaming the observer for a sexual interpretation is disrespectful to the art in question. Inneundos are meant to be spotted and discussed - they have the potential to heighten the art and unveil a greater message. Just because something is sexual does not mean it is bad.

Now that we have that cleared, it's pertinent to reflect on the surface value of the lyrics in contrast to the glaring inneundo jumping out at the audience. Let's look at the opening lyrics together:

One look at the lyrics, and you'll raise your eyebrows and go, "Really? You sampled a mouthful of candy and can't stop talking about how you're tingling all over, feel dizzy, and are melting from the sweetness?" The song's lyrics and language is quite figurative: the audience is guided to see beyond the literal meaning.

If we break down the individual feelings our protagonist shares, it sounds reminiscient of a first kiss or sexual experience. Considering how strongly the lyrics center on oral pleasure (oral as in the literal sense of the mouth), the rightfully assummed metaphor here is kissing. Let's look at all the instances where the song connects pleasure to the mouth:

별가루 가득 물면 느껴지는 불꽃놀이일까? / (Is this) fireworks that I feel when I bite a whole mouthful of stardust?

입 안을 채운 콕콕 따끔한 이 느낌은 또 / This tingling feeling that has filled my mouth

혀끝에 건전지 / A battery at the tip of my tongue

Our protagonist talks extensively about the pleasure in his mouth in correlation to feeling dizzy, warm, fuzzy, electrified, and excited - all feelings heavily associated with heightened sexual experiences, and notably kissing.

A striking detail is the fact that our protagonist is not alone during the story - he's actively talking to another person, meaning he's not literally eating candy by himself and getting an explosive sugar rush as the superficial interpretation insinuates. We notice this from the opening line which calls to a direct "you":

짜릿한 정전기 you’re popping star / Electrifying static, you're popping star.

Not only is this a reference to the title, making it an important detail to note, but it's also inviting the audience into acknowledging the relevant prescence of another character, some unnamed you. He goes on to say:

머리가 띵하게 기분 좋은 my love / Making my head feel dizzy, that good feeling, my love

He's directly saying "my love," so this person is clearly special to him. This person is his popping star - someone who evokes all of these explosive, tingling feelings.

The chorus is riddled with suggestive language: "This isn't enough / I need something stronger / A chew full of lemon, lime, orange, yeah / I need more, more, more / A stronger popping / A chew full of lemon, lime, orange, yeah"

Our protagonist is craving more flavor as he seeks a pleasure high. My interpretation is that the other character is wearing flavored chaptstick, perhaps fruit-flavored or candy-flavored, and our protagonist wants to taste more of the character's lips. Another interpretation is that they're both chewing on flavored gum, and when they kiss, the flavors blend together in a satisfying burst. Both feel plausible to me. The chorus suggests a kiss through the explosive repetition of surprised "oh's" that the members sing. It's hard to explain without hearing it, so skip to 0:48 in the song to catch what I mean. The explosive instrumental paired with the high-pitched oh's feels representative of an epiphany, or at least a heightened emotional state.

Perhaps one of the most glaringly suggestive parts of the song is Beomgyu's line after the first chorus, where he says:

잠깐 쉬어갈 땐 slime vacation / When (I) take a short break, slime vacation

This implies he's taking a break from exchanging slime, or saliva, with the aforementioned "you". Keep in mind that Korean sentences don't always need an explicit subject, so it's unclear whether Beomgyu is saying "When I take a short break" or "When we take a short break". However, later in the song, during a critical moment that I'll get to shortly, Yeonjun explicitly mentions the pronoun 우리 (we/us) which means we can assume this whole candy-tasting fiasco is, at the very least, a pleasure-seeking high that our protagonist is doing with someone by his side.

The kissing metaphor is more strongly suggested when Taehyun says:

어제 했던 건 벌써 지루해 / The things that (I did/were done) yesterday are already boring

더 더 더 강한 popping이 필요해 / I need a stronger popping

which tells me the song is self-aware enough to recognize it's not just about eating candy. Why would yesterday's candy be described as "the things that were done yesterday"? I also find it interesting that he's using the verb 지루하다 instead of 심심하다 when mentioning boredom. Both of these verbs mean "to be bored", but 심심하다 refers to boredom through a lack of action, whereas 지루하다 has the connotation of being bored by something because you've been doing it for a prolonged time; as in, you're getting physically tired of it. So, Taehyun is saying that the stuff he did yesterday has become repetitive and tiring, and he's now seeking a stronger high. Very suggestive language.

There's a line from Heuningkai that really stands out towards the latter half of the song. He goes:

가끔은 조금 위험해도 돼 / Sometimes it can be a little dangerous

엄마 몰래 자물쇠를 열어봐 / Open the lock without my mom knowing

The conjugation here is very interesting!! He uses the 아/어도 되다 pattern at the end of the adjective for "dangerous", which is a conjugation used to give permission for something. So, rather than him stating the fact that it's dangerous, he's giving permission to the speaker to be a little dangerous. It's a subtle nod at him approving risky behavior, so perhaps a better translation would be "it's alright if sometimes it's a bit dangerous".

"Open the lock" reminds me of Soobin's verse in Sugar Rush Ride:

, which I interpret as a more blatantly sexual inneundo for losing one's virginity. I don't think Poppin Star implies more than kissing, but asking someone to open your lock without your mom knowing, and engaging in risky behavior, appears symbolic to doing something you wouldn't want your mom to see, so at the very least it's suggestive language.

This interpretation aligns with the direct album overview provided by Bighit, which states that "The Dream Chapter: MAGIC tells the story of 'magical adventures' that boys encounter together with their friends [...] the boys share their transformation, confusion and exploding emotions that arise during their transition to adolescence." Notice that the official statement itself says that the album centers on a boy and his friends as they transition into adolescence. Interesting.

I'd be happy to leave the analysis there and say, "See? The song is clearly an innuendo", but then the writers toss in the gayest shit during the last third of the song that forces the audience to pause and reinterpret.

Yeonjun and Taehyun sing the following lines:

이건 어쩌면 나라에서 허락한 / Maybe this is something that the country has allowed

우리끼리만 숨겨둔 유일한 / Something we have kept hidden just among us

자 아무에게나 허락된 게 아냐 / Alright, it's not allowed to just anyone

입안 가득 터뜨려 / Burst a mouthful

The verb used here is 허락하다 which means to allow, permit, or approve. Talking about what your country allows in connotation to something you've kept hidden among the two of you…feels queer-coded. Especially when the rest of the song has been dedicated to pursuing a thrill from "my love", a pursuit which they acknowledge is intimately private given the line "without my mom knowing". Why bring up what's allowed in your country in a song that centers on a boy seeking pleasure? The last line is odd too - it's conjugated as a command, so our protagonist is telling us, the audience, that we should pop a mouthful of the candy too. In connection to the line above it, it's implied that he knows popping the candy aka kissing his love is not allowed for everyone, but he's encouraging others to try. Adding to the intrigue is the fact that they repeat the last two lines again, but change the command to 입안 가득 터뜨려 봐 which is a less forceful command and more like "Give it a try".

If the song truly were just about candy, talking about what your country allows and who is allowed to do it feels very out of place and strange. This, paired with the striking fixation on oral pleasure makes me believe the song is about a boy kissing his friend, and it's been a fun, exciting little secret between the two of them.

It doesn't feel like an exaggeration to find queer subtext here. If you're an avid TXT fan, you'll know their songs are very queer-coded, from 0x1=lovesong having the most blatant thematic connection (I still regularly think about Soobin's "I can't go to heaven, I don't belong there" line) alongside Sugar Rush Ride, which suggests we "swallow the sugar rush"....sir, swallow what exactly??!

I hope this could spark your interest and see the lyrics from a new perspective. Sorry not sorry if this burst your innocent perception of the song...like I said, it sounds deceptively adorable 😂 let me know your thoughts and thanks for reading!

God I am so excited. I love you.

What I need you to know is I spent multiple hours over multiple days researching this just for Leo Bardonaro backstory that I am probably never going to get to write in detail anyway. I headcanon Leo as an anesthesiologist. Also I think it's a shame that they stopped having at least one or two dedicated anesthesiologists in the show after Ugly John because it's such a complex set of measurements to understand and as important a trained specialty as any other. It's difficult to pick it up off the cuff if you haven't been properly educated. I appreciate little moments such as in Bug Out when Hawk snaps at BJ when Beej is the one setting up the anesthesia. Very true to life and history when anesthesiologists were thin on the ground in Korea and doctors or nurses did have to double up, and also affording MASH their smaller cast to focus on.

Side note, I discovered first in my research that anesthesiologist and anesthetist are two different terms. An anesthesiologist is a medical doctor while an anesthetist is a nurse who has received the training to administer anesthesia, either assisting the anesthesiologist or working independently. The more you know!

Now let's get to excited autistic rambling :D :D :D

This is the Ohio 685A military model anesthesia machine, affectionately referred to as The Pig. This is the machine that was most commonly in use during the Korean War, all the way through to the beginning of the Vietnam War. It was important because it was lightweight, easy to disassemble, and it broke down into an easy-to-carry box in the event of the MASH unit needing to bug out.

Look how cute it is!!! My best friend The Pig I love them so much. An anesthesiologist was not only keeping a close eye on vitals and ready to spring into action at a moment's notice, but they were also constantly watching the levels of administered nitrous oxide (what we know colloquially as laughing gas) and oxygen (which has to be administered as a level of at least 20%) to make sure they were giving enough to keep the patient under but not enough to cause them long-term damage of any kind. This is important given that nitrous oxide causes intracranial pressure, for example.

An interesting thing to note is that while they had begun to pioneer intubation as a way to administer an anesthetic in WWII and saw impressive results, in the Korean War, the majority of patients were still anesthetized by mask on account of the doctors having to work so quickly and efficiently that they most often defaulted to the techniques they were familiar with if they did not have to change. This might also be why a large number of doctors would choose to administer a spinal anesthetic instead of using a mask.

So the rabbit hole I really went down was how we typically see anesthesia used in media versus the reality of it. We're used to seeing them just put a mask on the patient's face and they're out immediately. Not quite accurate! Nitrous oxide alone will not put a patient to sleep. It's a wonderful pain reducer and produces a sense of euphoria and it's incredibly fast-acting, only taking a few minutes to reach full effect. But anesthesiologists would first administer something to induct unconsciousness, most popularly a dose of thiopental into the patient's IV line.

Thiopental is a barbiturate often used as an induction agent. Within 30 to 45 seconds, the drug reaches the brain and makes the patient unconscious (an interesting thing is that thiopental also reduces intracranial pressure, which was also helpful with the comment above about nitrous oxide causing that). But thiopental itself will wear off within around 5 to 10 minutes as the drug leaves the brain and circulates through the entire body, thus meaning the patient would wake back up.

This is where nitrous oxide comes in!! The thiopental injection induces unconsciousness and the nitrous oxide maintains it. Because nitrous oxide as a gas dissipates so quickly in our system, removing the mask will have a patient coming back to consciousness within minutes.

With how rapidly things had to move in surgery in a Korean War MASH unit, the anesthesiologists had to be on their fucking game. If they administered just a little too much of an induction agent or nitrous oxide, severe side effects could occur. Patients would suffer convulsions, damage to the brain. A wrong dose was a ticket to total shock, heart attacks, death. It's so stressful to read about and also so cool. The surgeons always get the big bucks but other doctors deserve their flowers too.

Mina and I ended up meeting at the Steak house 15 minutes later despite several protests I had received. She seemed happy to see me. We sat down and as soon as the waitress handed us the menu neither of us could help ourselves. we ordered two large steaks, three appetizers, and two deserts and she got beer but I just got water. it made sense she was so hungry she had just spent 4 hours dancing but I was just. ...huh what was I doing? My brain was having a gap in memory.

"You're so cute when you're thinking," Mina said. I turned to her and smiled before saying thank you. She looked at me confused.

"Did you understand that?" Mina asked surprised

"Yeah, you said I was cute. Wait I know that look. What's wrong?" I questioned

"Dahyun, Chae, and I have been drilling it into you for months and now it all clicks?" she asked

"Huh, what," I said. it was then that I realized something. As I spoke with Mina she was speaking a lot clearer, and her accent seemed to change.

"Huh, that's weird. I guess all of your lessons have finally sunk in. I replied

Mina smiled and said, "Oh that's great."

"Oh before I forget. I got you something for our anniversary. well, two things." I space-sifted her gifts under the table before I pulled them out and handed them to her. It was a Lego set she had been eyeing and a mana vault for her Mirrym deck. I slid both to her. She gave me that bright gummy smile

"Oh thank you, but how did you know I was eyeing these?" Mina asked confused and surprised

"Well, I make it a point to know what my friends and loved ones want so when I do give gifts I can bring appropriate ones."

"Oh I love both so much and I will for sure put this mana vault in Mirrym," Mina says with her bright Gummy smile

As we were talking two familiar faces saw us and approached

Siyeon was surprised to see Mina and I at the restaurant. So much so it took her and Sakura out of their little anniversary date they had going on. The couple approached us just as the first appetizer came, and we had both taken our first bites.

“Tj-ah?” I heard and turned to face the girls as they sat with us instead of at their table. I swallowed what I had in my mouth just to make the hunger pains go away and then turned back to the girls.

“What’s up?” I said not realizing they didn't know I was dating Mina.

Siyeon points to Mina and me. "what's this?" she asks with a blank expression. Mina and I look at each other then our eyes widen. We had been caught we realized

"Uh...I..."I stammered because I didn't want to disclose too much without consulting Mina, but she bit the bullet

"We are on a date celebrating our one-month anniversary," she says confidently. She grasps my hand and I can feel her subtly shake. I caress her hand in reassurance as I silently smiled and nodded. The two girls who joined us looked at me shocked.

"Why didn't you tell us," Sakura asked surprised and a little louder than I would have liked

I squinted uncomfortable before my answer, "Well we kinda wanted to keep it a secret." I explain.

Siyeon looked at me with her sharp eyes and focused pout before speaking again, "Since when can you speak Korean so well?" Siyeon asked confused

"Well, I have been practicing with Mina, Dahyun, Chaeyoun and Sana. They make it super easy to understand." I say with a smile as Mina reaches over and grabs my other hand. Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed that Sakura was doing something with her phone. I am assuming she's texting the rest of Le Sserafim but I couldn't be sure

Before I can follow up Siyeon begins to speak again dismissing my train of thought, "It's so clear but it has a weird accent. Wait is that what you sound like in English?" Siyeon asks eyes wide.

"I guess so," I answer, and before anything else could happen my stomach began rumbling again, and Mina and I started to eat again. In between bites, Siyeon asked me about hearing how I passed out earlier.

Mina turned to me shocked, and concern painted her face"Wait what happened?" Mina asked confused

"Your boyfriend passed out earlier today and when he woke up all he wanted to do was eat," Siyeon answers bluntly

Mina laughs then stares at me, "Is my dear Jio feeling okay? I remember we didn't get breakfast earlier and you are always on top of eating usually." Mina says having calmed down

"I don't remember passing out, but I do feel great at least now," I said.

Sakura nodded and said this as confirmation, "Yeah you look "stronger than when I last saw you have you been working out." Sakura asked I shrugged which made her laugh and say, "Still not as strong as me." she flexed her bicep to tease me. although I knew for a fact I could bench press her weight. I don't think she could do mine.

I laugh with her and respond "Well, thanks Kkura. I feel...Vibrant I think, but also hungry so hungry." I responded. talking to her reminded me about her phone stuff earlier and I was about to ask what she was doing on her phone when the question was answered for me right after.

"Tj-ah!" I heard Chaewon yell. She ran over to us along with the rest of the Le Sserafim girls.

"Tj-ah don't scare me like that. Connor told us you just dropped to the floor," Chaewon said before hitting me. I shrugged and let her get all her rage out. Eunchae smiled and joined us. She turned to Mina,

"Hi unnie. So how did you and TJ meet," she said with a wide smile. Mina smiled with bashful grace as she explained what happened all that time ago. Eunchae rolls her eyes when Mina brings up Magic the gathering but is more invested when she talks about the dates that we have gone on and how I have been there for her. whereas Yunjin in classic Yunjin fashion Looked at me then at Mina then back at me. Her eyes grew wide as it clicked what we were doing here.

"you two make such a cute couple." Yunjin said loudly, "I mean both of you have this quiet calm that works well together."

I look at her surprised, "I talk like a lot."

"Yeah, but you also don't," Jen says

"that makes no sense Jen" I reply

"Yes, it does. back me up Kkura.", Yunjin asks

"Yeah, Tj-ah. there have been days where you talk to us forever but then there are days we are lucky to get more than a (Sakura shrugs, and gives a thumbs up)" Sakura says which causes Yunjin to laugh hysterically

At this point, I turned to Mina who was laughing and I mouthed "I am sorry."

Mina smiles and then mouths, "It's okay."

"Capture time. Capture time." Eunchae says before taking her phone to take a photo of us, faster than I can ask for her not to post it she posts 4 and 5 pictures to Instagram. I groan, to which Eunchae teases "Oh is Oppa sad his picture didn't come out good?"

"No that's not the problem," I say.

The next day I am woken up to Astrid running in with a crazy grin.

"You absolute Stud," she says.

"I hesitate to ask but why do you say that Astrid?" I ask

Astrid smiles as we get up and follows me to the kitchen where I set up a bowl of cereal and two PP&J sandwiches. "You and Mina. I saw Eunchae's picture yesterday."

As I finish setting up I ask, "What are you implying?"

"that you upgraded and Upgraded hard, because while Yujin was cute like super cute Mina is gorgeous. Also, I am glad you finally got an older girl I know you kinda had a certain appreciation for them," Astrid said

"Astrid she is only slightly older than you...also please don't put down Yujin," I ask politely

"Wow, such a gentleman. I love it, but seriously what is she like? When I've talked to her she seemed so cold." Astrid teases

"Well to not kiss and tell she is chill, she is also super warm and loving. you just have to know what angle to crack." I answer vaguely

"Oh come on tell me more. (Astrid notices me eating) What's with you? Do you have a tapeworm or something? You are eating like back when you were playing football in college." Astrid asked in a tone that went from annoyed to teasing.

"No, these last few days I've just been super hungry all the time," I answer.

"I can see that. Also question why do Twice keep mentioning a person named Jio? I thought their leader's name was Jihyo?"

I laughed and responded, "It's them mispronouncing Theo."

"Oh, that makes so much sense. Also, your Korean has gotten so much better." Astrid noted

"Oh, thanks... you know everyone has been saying that." I respond

"I get it. because before it sounded like you were ten speaking Korean but now it sounds like how you sound in English. What finally clicked?" Astrid asked

"Well, Mina and Dahyun only speak in Korean to me so it was kind of a sink-or-swim scenario," I explained

"Well, it worked that's for certain," Astrid said with a smile. her smile grew mischievous again, "Hey can you like spend the night with Mina tonight?" Astrid asks meekly

I shrug at Astrid, and she then gives me a confused look, "Oh yeah sure," I answer

"Wait really?" Astrid asks hopeful

"Yeah, I know you want alone time with Emma so sure," I answer

"You are the best, but I am still not buying you that Porsche," Astrid said teasingly

"Hey, I'll get it eventually." I tease. "Also I might just get a hotel for the night.", I add.

Astrid looked at me confused, "Wait why I thought you were going to stay with Mina?"

"Well yeah tonight is date night but I don't want things to progress too far," I answer

Astrid laughs before replying, "Oh right I forgot you and Dexter are good Christian boys."

"Uh Dexter is not Christain nor is he as good as you think" I respond

"Wait him and Eunbi?" Astrid asks

"Yeah turns out Dexter loves his mommy, and that is all I am going to say about that," I respond and Astrid begins rolling around the floor laughing. She stays like that until Emma walks in and looks at me surprised.

"I told her about Dexter and Eunbi," I explain

Emma begins to laugh and join her lover on the floor. the two begin kissing of course. I finish my chocolate milk which doesn't go unnoticed. "You got enough to eat there?" Emma teases.

"yeah I could still eat but this should be enough to get me through the morning?" I say.

"Sheesh. you've been ravenous these last few days. you should get that checked out. You might have a tapeworm" Emma said

"See I told you that?" Astrid said sitting up.

"Okay, I will go after we talk to Andariel the sponsor," I say to Astrid. Astrid smiles. I clean up my meal and get ready to head out with Astrid and Emma who were making out on the couch at this point.

"ugh get a room you two." I tease which causes them to break the kiss.

We all get in Emma's nice car (Yes it's a Porsche... a Panamera to be specific, although not in the color I want) and drive to the office. everyone was already waiting for us with the mysterious Andariel.

We walk in and I remember everything as soon as I see Andariel's face.

"You!" I hiss as I summon recollection and I throw it at her. My aura amplifies the attack as the weapon hurls towards her She is only saved by Emma, Dexter, and Connor creating a defensive field that gives her just enough time to dodge, but not fast enough to stop me from grabbing my weapon from the wall that impaled it. I get to attack her again and am stopped by Dexter, Yujin (her vampire powers blazing forth), Connor, and Emma. "Guys get out of the way. She's not who she says she is?"

"Long time no see TJ." the lady says, and I see the worried looks of everyone around me.

"TJ how does she know you?" Astrid asks, but I don't hear her. My mind is driven mad by the hunger to finish her off once and for all.

"You don't get to call me that. not anymore." I say to her my voice is cold

"Oh, would I call you by that name?" The lady asked with a knowing smile

"How dare you come back." I hiss

"Well you were always my favorite so I figured I get to see you, but you're so different from that sad and lonely little boy you once were. Now you are what was it you said you wanted to be, "Top of the Food" " The lady said with a wicked smile

"Friends, and Emma I am begging you to get out of my way," I ask calmly trying to calm my aura.

"What's going on? What's wrong Jio?" I hear Mina ask in my mind. her voice is a calming presence in the storm, in my mind.

"Everyone this is Andy. the lady who made me the monster you all know and love (I turn to Emma) or hate," I say.

"I'd say the best one at that. Look at all the power they have to use to stop you, and you are barely even phased. I was legitimately worried you finally had me for a second." Andy teased. Emma grew annoyed and worried

"TJ stand down. she is not here to hurt you," she said but I didn't care. Revenge was so close I could almost taste it. My mouth began to salivate at the thought of getting back at the woman who broke my mind.

"Why did you come back?" I ask Andariel one more time

"To see you, Establish order, of course, You humans so clearly need someone to guide you so I came back," Andariel says one more time.

I blink twice and realize just how true the Wendigo's words were. I dismissed my weapon, to the relief of everyone, and walked out of the office. When the pain becomes too much to bear I space-sift to the La Brea Tar pits and just take photos. The room is silent for a moment before Andariel begins laughing manically

"Haha haha." Andariel says after I leave. "you all should have let him kill me." She adds.

"Why is that?" Emma asked worried.

Tshomba Sobek Moore Jr. aka Project Freedom is my greatest success and greatest failure." Andariel says malevolently. "I showed him infinity I pushed him to insanity and he came back, untethered. He has grown so much. I showed him how weak humans were and he agreed something needed to be done, but we could never come eye to eye when it came to what to do with the power I granted him. He wanted to be free of his burdens hence my name for him freedom. it's why he stayed with me. He saw me as his vehicle to achieve it, and he made do which is more than I can say for the others brought into my care. His parents brought me him, but he chose to be better than they expected. From what I see I am also pretty sure all of you have benefited from his idiosyncrasies." Andariel began

"So why does he want to kill you?" Astrid asked

"Because I am an evil tyrant. Most of you humans crave to be under the boot of someone more powerful than you, which is why you all cling to Mass murders and psychopaths. I am just filling the vacuum," Andariel said with a malicious grin. "Freedom was different though. he wanted the freedom to be himself, and would never bow. He was also so compassionate and wanted better for you and all his would be friends. Sadly, and expectedly you all never listened to him and that's going to cost you all. now let's get down to business, while he cries and laments The hero he could have been if not for the monster I made him." Andariel added.

The meeting after that was brisk, to say the least. she made her demands of everyone and how conduct would be operated and for most of the people, it was all stuff they were used to except Emma, Connor, Dexter, and Astrid who began to piece together some rather problematic things from them Amazonian woman. After the meeting, Emma sequestered herself with the mentioned 3 and began trying to figure out what to do.

"Okay, that lady is wicked," Dexter says. Connor and Astrid nod

"I can't believe I am going to say this but we need to deal with her, and we are going to need TJ," Emma says. She was terrified, as everyone in BRIPE knew about The Pale Witch and very few lived to tell the tale.

"But why didn't he tell us about her?" Astrid questioned worried.

Astrid looked to her friends confused, "Have any of you met her before today?"

"I had, but TJ didn't mention anything about her before that otherwise I wouldn't have accepted her generous offer." Astrid laments

"Honey I love you but if the offer was enough you would have accepted regardless of TJ's wishes." Emma chastizes her girlfriend

"I...I don't think I would have." Astrid Stammers

"It's fine don't worry about it besides she used to go by a different name." Emma figures

"Well that's a relief but why does TJ hate her so much?" Astrid asks

"Oh, I can answer that," Andariel said as she approached the group silently.

Andariel approached them and pointed to Emma "Emma right?" she asked Emma nodded, "Great well you are correct TJ knows me as Tasha but most usually call me "The Pale Witch Queen", and why TJ hates me is simple. I fattened him up to be killed, by one of my many pets. As typically that's all psionics are good for, but he was the first in a very long time to surprise me. so I fostered his mind, I grew his powers, indulged his appetites until he burst, and what came out of the shell of a child is the monstrous man you know today. You know he could have killed all of you if he wanted, so for him not to do that means he cares about you all more than he cares about his appetite. You should be proud because I made sure he didn't let anything get in the way of his hunger. I will say this his power is different though when I first met him, and it suits him." Andariel said maliciously

"What are you talking about?" Dexter asked

"That aura I mean come on it was massive and the manifestation of the monster whose antlers change shape into other animals and concepts. incredible. Although his appetite for mercy was always one of his weaknesses, I guess it served him well. what was that thing he would say...Oh right why prey upon the weak when the strong are usually better fed? Man, he something, and I mean he still is." Andariel said glowing.

"why would you do that to him?" Dexter asked disgusted and terrified.

"Because you humans are animals. always fighting and destroying each other over petty dreams and desires. It is my right as a higher being to do what I want with you all? I mean I forged Excalibur for crying out loud, and all you've thought to do with it is subjugate others and win wars. instead using the more interesting properties it has, for example, visiting other planes of existence, gaining knowledge from other cultures, seeing the knowledge of others in their hearts, and changing/bending wills. I made it to be the weapon to end wars and all you have done with it is wage bigger ones. It's pathetic, but there are... what's that phrase you all say...Oh, right Diamonds in the rough, and he is worth more than that. I made him capable of slaying titans by himself I had guided him to the underworld and he came back with the wisdom of the dead. he was taught the art of combat by the shade and gained power over power itself. I had him wander in the drought to starve and he feasted more than ever. he is my crowning achievement. My masterpiece, and so now I am going see what new heights he can go to." Andariel said

Connor shifted uncomfortable hearing all of this and said, "And what if we are to stop you?" Connor said as a wave of protectiveness overcame him.

Andariel chuckled and said, "Please you can barely stop him in the children's card game you all play. you have no chance of stopping me, but you're welcome to try."

While this conversation was happening Mina and and Yujin were hearing this and making some very serious conclusions.

I got a call as I was eating a burrito from a nearby spot as I sat and took pictures throughout the Tar Pits. It was from my lovely girlfriend.

"yeah, Mina? Sure I can be there in a bit."

OK, so the limitations I’m setting for myself are that these books must:

have been published some time after 1st January 2000 (in the edition I read them);

be good.

That’s it. The books are in alphabetical order by author’s surname, because there’s enough variety here that I wouldn’t feel comfortable (or rational) trying to rank each book objectively.

Fiction:

Bloodchild and Other Stories (2005) by Octavia E. Butler - The eponymous story is one of my favourite short stories of all time, and it counts within the time constraints because this is the second edition, with additional stories added. Butler’s commentary on her own works is always insightful.

Gone Girl (2012) by Gillian Flynn - Iconic story of an apex predator who wasn’t getting enough enrichment in her enclosure.

The Vegetarian [채식주의자] (2007) by Han Kang - Specifically the original version in Korean, not the translation.

Slave Play (2020) by Jeremy O. Harris - Very unsettling! The double (triple?) entendre in the title is a good summation of the play entire, I think.

OUT (2004) by Kirino Natsuo tr. Stephen Snyder - Often described as ‘feminist noir,’ Kirino’s writing explores the grimy underbelly of the daily lives of women and girls in modern Japan. Predictably, I have enjoyed all of her novels I’ve read.

The Sympathizer (2015) by Viet Thanh Nguyen - This novel is to me what Eliot’s ‘The Waste Land’ is as a poem to me. That will make sense if you’ve read both.

Theory of Bastards (2018) by Audrey Schulman - I adore every novel by Schulman I have read so far, but this one is definitely my favourite.

Impératrice (2003) by Shan Sa - I read this book as a teenager and was absolutely obsessed with it. Wu Zetian is boss.

Terminal Boredom (2021) by Suzuki Izumi tr. Polly Barton, Sam Bett, David Boyd, Daniel Joseph, Aiko Masubuchi, and Helen O’Horan - I also recommend the sequel collection by the same team, Hit Parade of Tears (2023).

Nonfiction:

Voices from Chernobyl (2005) by Svetlana Alexievich tr. Keith Gessen - Originally published in 1997, but I read the English translation first. I recommend everything Alexievich has ever written, honestly.

The Captive Woman’s Lament in Greek Tragedy (2006) by Casey Dué - You know when you read a book and it makes you feel like your entire body has been transferred to a different plane of existence? I love Dr. Dué’s writing about Euripides and Greek tragedy so freaking much.

Delusions of Gender (2010) by Cordelia Fine - If you’ve ever been trying to explain to a bigot that ‘basic biology’ is not as straightforward as ‘male brain’ vs. ‘female brain,’ this is the book for you. Dr. Fine is super knowledgeble, and the book is excellent at explaining the relevant neuroscience while debunking misogynistic and transphobic misconceptions about how the human brain functions.

How To Survive a Plague (2016) by David France - Really comprehensive book on the history of the AIDS epidemic and how it was solved.

The Landmark Herodotus: The Histories (2007) tr. Andrea Purvis ed. Robert Strassler - The entire Landmark series is excellent, and I highly recommend it. I chose the Herodotus because the maps really are invaluable, but the Thucydides and Arrian were close seconds.

People Love Dead Jews (2021) by Dara Horn - My favourite joke from this book is when Horn describes Anne Frank as ‘everyone’s second-favourite dead Jew... after, of course, Jesus.’

Arguments with Silence: Writing the History of Roman Women (2014) by Amy Richlin - Really I recommend everything Richlin has ever written, but I would like to specifically acknowledge her essay ‘Hijacking the Palladion’ (1992), which remains one of the best articles I’ve ever read on feminism and classics.

Appropriate: A Provocation (2021) by Paisley Rekdal - Really really interesting thinky book about cultural appropriation, appreciation, and interaction.

19 Ways of Looking at Wang Wei (with More Ways) (2016) by Eliot Weinberger - OK, this book is from 1987, but the expanded edition is eligible. This is a delightful and informative, albeit short, explanation of (some of) the difficulties inherent in translation.

Poetry:

The Collected Poems (2010) by Ai - This is also kind of cheating… Ai’s best poetry can be found in her Killing Floor (1973), which is included in this anthology.

The Iliad (2015) tr. Caroline Alexander - I enjoyed Emily Wilson’s translations of Homer as well, but Alexander’s translation of the Iliad is the first complete translation into English by a woman, ever. That’s really cool. Also, it’s a very good translation; I definitely prefer it to Wilson’s translation of the same. (I could go on for hours about the differences in translations of Homer.)

Phone Bells Keep Ringing for Me (2020) by Choe Seungja tr. Won-Chung Kim and Cathy Park Hong - My absolute favourite poetry by Choe Seungja can be found in her book ‘내 무덤, 푸르고’ (1993), some of which can be found in this collection of translated poetry.

Unfortunately, It Was Paradise (2003) by Mahmoud Darwish tr. Munir Akash and Carolyn Forché (with Sinan Antoon and Amira El-Zein) - This is cheating, somewhat, since I originally read most of Darwish’s poems in Arabic, and those versions were published mostly before the relevant time period. However, I do consider this translated collection of his works to be one of my favourite books, especially now that I have ‘edited’ it by hand-writing the Arabic versions of the poems in the margins. It counts.

Li Shang-yin (2018) tr. Chloe Garcia Roberts - Li Shangyin is one of my favourite Tang-dynasty poets, and this bilingual(!) edition of his poems is an excellent read.

Ilias und Odyssee (2008) tr. Johnn Heinrich Voß - Yes, another translation of Homer. Voß’s translation is from the late 18th century, but this particular edition has a bunch of specific appendices and stuff...! Anyway, this translation rocks.

Yi Sang: Selected Works (2020) tr. Jack Jung, Sawako Nakayasu, Don Mee Choi, and Joyelle McSweeney - Once again this is on the line, because I definitely prefer Yi Sang’s writing in the original Korean/Japanese... no translation adequately captures his style, in my opinion, but this one comes the closest.

Closing thoughts:

I do not usually read a lot of newer books (backlog, you know how it is), so I am extremely out of touch with the current literary zeitgeist. This is mostly by design. All of my favourite books in French, for example, were published before 1990, and my single favourite book (Les Misérables) was published in the mid-19th century.

Several of the books on this list I originally read in a different language (mostly French), but I’ve included the English version here if it’s the original OR if it’s the relevant edition for the timeframe.

This was incredibly difficult. Mostly because I had to flip through each book to see if it fit the requirements. I would be much better at curating a list of my favourite 100 books of the 20th century, I think. Or of the 19th century. Or even further back.

Short stories, novels, or poems?

Novels all the way. I've tried my hand at short stories, and they always end up being novellas or straight up novels by the time I'm done with them. May as well stick with what my little brain clearly desires!

What genre do you prefer reading?

Mysteries (cozy or otherwise), horror (especially zombie fiction or apocalypse fiction, yes please), fantasy (especially cozy, I love cozy fantasy so much, have you read Legends and Lattes?), and romance.

Are you a planner or a write as I go kind of person?

I'm a little of both! I'll generally have a plan in my head at the very least, if not a brief outline written down somewhere, but when I actually sit down to write, my writing tends to veer off wherever it wants and do its own thing (for example, FUCKING CHUCK). As long as it makes sense, I tend to just let it go wherever it wants lol

What music do you listen to while writing?

Surprisingly, I don't listen to much music while writing. I'll daydream to it, absolutely, but I mostly just throw on some Markiplier or an old debate that I've heard ten thousand times and write to that. It's more about the background noise than the actual content, y'know?

But when I DO listen to music, I drift toward lofi or mood music compilations on youtube. The kind that DMs play during their DnD sessions. Love those so much, they really help keep me locked in a single mood, which I absolutely need when I'm writing a scene.

Favorite books/movies?

Oh god. Lord of the Rings (including the Hobbit don't @ me). Train to Busan (or any Korean zombie movies/shows, really). Some Disney and Pixar - Big Hero 6, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, Emperor's New Groove, etc. The Strain is one of my favorite TV shows - I also love Cutthroat Kitchen above all else, a bunch of different anime, and Dance Moms (yes I know it's toxic and yes I am ashamed of myself for enjoying it. I pity the kids but I rage at the moms.)

As for books, my favorites are the Beechwood Harbor Mystery series, The Luminous Dead, Thief Liar Lady, All Systems Red, Legends and Lattes, A Wizard's Guide to Defensive Baking, anything Holly Black, Suffer the Children, Contagion, Luck in the Shadows, Assistant to the Villain, Dead of Night, and Surviving the Evacuation!

Any current WIPs?

Oh gosh. I'm bopping between From Carnival to Chamomile, a prequel to a cozy mystery series, and Dauntless, a zombie apocalypse trilogy, right now. Sometimes I'll work on Priestess Without Honor, a paranormal low-fantasy romance, and Chosen Against My Will, a dark mafia romance. I also have zer0 ALPHA, a lit-rpg isekai zombie apocalypse novel, but I haven't touched that in years and have only recently rediscovered my notes for it.

If someone were to make a cartoon out of you what would your standard outfit be?

I wear the same thing every day, surprisingly. That's the autism for ya. I love jeans and a T-shirt, especially if that T-shirt has a picture from an anime or show or something like that. Printed shirts, I think they're called. Oh, and mismatched socks. That's me.

Create a character description of yourself: 

Too tall for her own good and unwanted curves for days. Bobbed dark-blue hair with steel gray eyes. Too busy writing or gaming to really notice what's going on. Expect a text back within seconds of receiving it - she reads faster than most people expect and tends to read every text twice just to give it that safety buffer. If there isn't a snack and a drink nearby, call the police.

Do you like incorporating actual people you know into your writing?

Hehehehe maybe. But not exactly in a good way. I'm very much the kind of person who will put someone I dislike into my book just so they can get the justice they won't get in the real world, even over something as minor as pronouncing my name wrong on purpose (I'm looking at you, Keiara).

Are you kill happy with your characters?

I want to say yes because I kill off characters constantly, but when it comes to my main OCs, no. I can't bring myself to kill them at all. I go out of my way to create characters for death (like FUCKING CHUCK) rather than put my favorites in the line of fire. I think that's a problem I need to work on.

Coffee or Tea while writing?

but I do love tea, especially in the fall. In the fall, I tend to drift toward tea and apple cider rather than coffee.

Slow or fast writer?

Fast writer when I actually sit down to write! Slow writer when I'm procrastinating. I've been working on Dauntless for...thirteen years? Twelve?

Where/who/what do you draw inspiration from?

I get inspiration from EVERYTHING. Dreams. Books. Movies. Something dumb my partner says offhandedly.

If you were in a fantasy world, what would you be?

I absolutely want to be something cool, like a shadow mage. But I'm probably a little gremlin that hides in the edges of the woods and steals your socks. Mmmm socks.

Most fav book cliche:

Enemies to lovers! Especially when one person is smitten at firstt sight and doesn't realize it.

Least favorite cliche:

Friendship is magic. Don't get me wrong, I'm fine with powerful friendships being front and center, but when the big bad is literally destroyed because fRiEnDsHiP I gag a little bit. I also hate undeserved happy endings - make the ending make sense. If it's a sad or horror book, sometimes the ending needs to be bad. And finally, forced romance. No. No thank you. Some stories don't need romance.

Descriptions! Am I good at them? No. Will I spend three pages describing a tree? Maybe.

Also conversations. I tend to do a lot of conversations and monologues in my writing. Need to work on that.

Reason for writing?

If I don't write down the ideas in my head, I will explode.

Personality: I am an INTJ Slytherclaw, Aquarius and a Type 6 when it comes to anagrams. Lawfully Neutral. I am a huge overthinker and stress a lot with anxiety. People tell me that I can be blunt which results in people thinking that I can be cold but in reality I try to be a kind person when it is needed. I am a realist and many consider me to be intelligent, often asking me to help with their work. I’m incredibly passionate about things I like to do and have a thirst to know everyone’s opinions as I feel that if someone is left out. I’m a creative person but sometimes my brain just goes blank, I hate when it does. I have a really dry sense of humour that usually is a mix of sarcasm, fandom jokes or self degrading jokes. I'm an extremely stubborn person and have to be right about everything. From a young age, my parents were extremely strict and had expected the best out of me which resulted in me being an overachiever. I have to get things perfect or be the best at what I’m doing. I'm really sensitive, even some small harsh words are enough to make me teary. I’ve been called a crybaby because of that and to be honest, that is true. I give too much to other people since I’m afraid of saying no since what if they hate me? And I'm too scared to ask for help or to have something cause I think they will think I'm selfish and worthless. Not the best self esteem 😔 I love to listen to other people since I think not a lot of people have others that they can tell what they wish to say without getting judged or outcasted. But the problem is that I judge too easily too. As much as I want to show a good image to others and help them, I tend to focus on my own needs and how everything can affect me for the better or worse. I hate repeating things, especially in front of a big crowd. I daydream too much. When I get excited, I speak really quickly and stumble over my words which I get embarrassed by and stop talking. I am very sensitive, especially when it comes to my appearance and personality. I’m always afraid that people are constantly judging me or hate me, which is why I tend to avoid public spaces or being around people in general. When I get familiar with someone or a crowd, I’m not that afraid to state my opinion. I get jealous and possessive easily, like I mentioned my parents are strict meaning I got very few things of my own and those things only came to me because I tried so hard to get it. So when I see someone else with it, it just irks me off. I always make plans but I know I’m not going to complete them, I just like to imagine the future if I actually had motivation and energy to accomplish things. I can never start new things while completing old ones. I am also the oldest child and have 4 younger ones, another reason why I stress too much. I don’t think I mentioned this, but I get angry really easily. The slightest mistakes just pisses me off. I suck at short talks and starting conversations, it’s much easier to have lengthier conversations. I can never do presentations, I always get too nervous. Plus, my friends say my voice is really soft so no one ever hears me much, especially since I’m uncomfortable. When I get angry, my judgement is clouded. I am terrible at holding grudges. I would be upset at someone but the second I see them again, I feel normal and happy in a way. Probably said this before, but I’m a huge day dreamer and stubborn. I can’t concentrate on my work because I always get distracted and daydream about things I will never have. I normally appear composed but have a fiery temper. I really want to be a lawyer. My parents never let me use the internet much as a kid so I pretty much live under a rock but I am incredibly book smart. 

Looks: Half-Korean and Half- White. I’m slightly chubby and curvy with a pear-shaped body (Double D cups). Upon seeing me, many people point out my eyes which are hazel with slight flecks of many colours such as green and amber being the prominent ones. Almond eyes that are doe-like and slightly turn up at the end but barely noticeable. I have a button nose and thin heart shaped lips. My face is round and my eye shape is almond. I am approximately 5’3. Two small moles are fixated on my right cheek and underneath my lip. Long dark brown hair that almost appears black but that solely depends on the lighting. My hair reaches my hips and is kinda wispy at the end. It’s usually on a ponytail with a few strands framing my face. My clothing style tends to be anything comfortable and classy. I prefer to wear black and colours that are darker, you will never find me wearing orange or neon colours.

Yes! You hold those grudges! Bakugo's right there with you. I definitely see him as the type of person to listen to you talk about someone and immediately start holding a grudge against them as well.

You're both very competitive and this can sometimes lead to conflict. But if you and Bakugo are able to see it as someone pushing you to be the best version of yourself, you'll be okay.

Food buddies! I see Kuroo as someone who enjoys good tasting food. He doesn’t really have a preference between savoury or sweet and he can handle spice, so wherever you want to go, he's happy.

There are a lot of unavoidable loud noises in volleyball so if you're not comfortable going to practise or competition matches, he completely understands. He's not going to force you to do anything you don't want to. That being said, if you do go to his matches, he'll be delighted.
