Alright guys here’s some Hori-brand freshly juiced bkdk meta.

Before chapter 415, I was writing a post on twitter about how I really love the “Dokun” of Shigaraki’s heart beat when Izuku punched him and how it’s the same sound effect for Izuku’s panic attack and also when Katsuki’s bead of sweat brought his heart back to life.

at the end of my post I casually wrote: It definitely feels like this is being written in a way that gives: “memories are bringing Shigaraki’s heart back to life.” and then it just freaking hit me about the other place DOKUN showed up… chapter 403… Katsuki’s first appearance after reviving.

I realised OH. OH SHIT!! “DOKUN” is the onomatopoeia Hori has been using for their hearts being brought back to life…

Katsuki in the literal sense, Shigaraki in the spiritual sense, Izuku in the ROMANTIC sense.

Now that we have Shigaraki's example of it, we can see this pattern that “DOKUN” is Horikoshi's chosen sound for hearts being revived.

And if we look back to after Izuku's panic attack, with this retrospect, we can surmise that the one last big “DOKUN” was drawn when Katsuki was finally revealed alive because Izuku’s “heart” had revived.

And so through the narrative’s subtleties, we are once again being told that Kacchan is Izuku’s heart. 🧡💚

Returning this ask sorry it took so long, my influences were from video game arts but I would’ve loved to of had access to anim as easily like you. Besides the usual Disney and Don Bluth growing up, I was absolutely fascinated with game art and miss the days of game manuals that come with art in the box 🥲

These days I draw to improve on storytelling and get back into traditional since I’d stopped after moving into CG, then Unreal, but inspired by recent shows like Arcane, Demon Slayer and Love, Death and Robots. What makes me go ‘I must draw this’? In some ways to give myself closure on quests or give dumb observations on HL similar to many in this fandom 😅 like this, my very first HL post

Another Post-Canon headcanon I have:

Mickey starts looking at getting more tattoos. He finds an artist he likes and over time he builds up a sleeve of sorts. He starts liking tattoos that are stereotypically feminine (eg a rose or something) and he has to grapple with all the toxic masculinity he got from Terry to get those. He ends up sort of designing a tattoo that’s a rose & dagger or something because he likes to draw.

He likes it so he sort of starts co designing his next tattoos with the artist. He doesn’t have the patience to be an actual tattoo artist but he likes drawing different designs & sketches.

Ian loves Mickey’s drawings and there’s one that he particularly loves so for their anniversary Ian gets a tattoo of it on his chest and surprises Mickey with it

a little afterthought from the last post about Ichigo, which I didn’t want to leave as a tag, cause it felt kinda unrelated, but yeah: the amount of existential and identity crises this boy had to go through is astounding.

he sees ghosts;

he killed his mother;

finding out he’s a shinigami;

finding out he’s a hollow;

finding out his father is a fucking liar (that one was a banger, straight up A+ parenting, give it up for Isshin);

finding out his whole life was planned and orchestrated by Aizen (I know Eren would go mad if someone pulled this shit on him);

finding out the spirit he thought was his sword wasn’t his sword all this time and actually is kind of the god he’s supposed to go defeat (casually, yk, like we all do on a nice Tuesday morning), and his actual sword is the Hollow he thought he needed to fight. but oh no, wait a moment, BOTH of them are his swords:

and oh yeah, he’s a quincy;

also don’t forget his mum dying wasn’t his fault, but wait no, it kinda was??

and of course that time he lost his powers aka the only thing allowing him to fulfil what he sees as his purpose in this life;

and then that one time a random dude pulled up and started gaslighting everyone around him, to the point that Ichigo started thinking HE was the one going mad (all that while still being powerless, so his sanity was already nonexistent);

and yeah, don’t forget the training with squad 0 when he got kicked out no sword, no nothing! (and was so ashamed and afraid of his father’s reaction he couldn’t go home, so he went to his boss???)

I could probably add some other stuff, but it’s not really canon, so let’s settle on these 11 points. obviously not in chronological order, bc I have memory issues and haven’t re-read the manga in a while, so don’t hold that against me, pls.

also, if this seems a little bit erratic, manic and unhinged… it’s bc it probably is, tbh. so I’m putting down tumblr before I write more bs.

maybe it’s the easy quitter in me, but I started this book called filthy rich fae last night (that I absolutely love and am already halfway through) and the FMC is sooo stubborn about him taking care of her and like. I get it bc she quite literally sold her soul to him. but if a literal filthy rich faerie prince offered to pay my student loans, get me a new car, never have to work again, and can live in a five star hotel with a shit ton of books I don’t think I’d put up that much of a fight tbh

i like how every time kyman are in a deadly serious situation cartman is always the one to be helpful, he’s willing to stop their fighting and he even lets himself say something nice and genuine.

and that makes me think that when they grow up and kyle eventually gets in a reaaaally shitty situation when he needs help, cartman will be the one to immediately get serious and help him with anything that’s possible. (if kyle accidentally fucked up and committed a crime, cartman would totally be the one to help him cover everything up)

he can be serious when he realises kyle actually needs his help (but of course he’ll laugh and mock him after taking care of everything, and maybe he’ll even ask for a payment just because he’s still an asshole lmao)

examples under the cut: imaginationland, bigger longer uncut, kenny dies, SMUG ALERT!!!!!

in addition: cartman, surprisingly, is very sentimental, and he was pretty open about his feelings in first seasons (bigger longer uncut, kenny dies, tourette syndrome, conjoined fetus lady, etc.) but none of the boys really appreciated it, always making fun of cartman’s genuine expression of his positive emotions, and it makes him bottle up those nice things he want to say.

the best proof of this theory is definitely “tourette syndrome” where he says all those sincere things to kyle (“i love you kyle, you must really care about me”) at the exact moment when he was physically unable of lying or hiding his true thoughts.

summing up, cartman thinks of his friends (and kyle especially) much more than he tries to show it and you all gotta admit it.

Constantly thinking about how WWX thinks about JC how he thinks JFM thought about YZY but mostly as how he denied and yet carelessly commented JFM thinks (disregards) about JC

It is so, so, so fucked up and one of the reasons why chengxian is so doomed by the narrative bc no matter what JC does or says, WWX already "knows" what is about. Bc JC is his shidi and WWX knows best. And still, pre masacre, pre core exchange, it could have work. It could have, because they love each other so much but JC lost his core. WWX thinks he chose his parents. He thinks Jc choose the dead bodies of his parents, a filial duty, over survival, over him. And he never forgave Jc for it.

Bc now is WWX turn to assume the consequences of his shidi actions, now it is his turn to bear the pain for him. And he does not do it with reluctance, he does not, he does it bc he loves Jc so so much, but still. Still. The hurt it caused it. The hell it send to him. The hopelessness.

And then to see his shidi thrive were he can’t no longer. To see him shine when he is but a shadow. To see him reach for the impossible time and time again as if it was not WWX who never gave up before, who rallied his shidi over his (small, imagined, greedy) woes. To see all that and know envy, envy he had denied his whole life and envy he will repress into resentment, into sth useful bc WWX is not like yzy or Jc he is not, he does not hurt the ones he lives with his jealousy and sense of inferiority. Bc how can he not envy, when one says his dad doesn’t love him but he still has a dad? When one says he is not enough for his sect when he has such a inheritance, such a clear path at life. And WWX never cared never ever ever, how could he? He loved his shidi best, in spite of all the bad things.

And somehow, Jc himself is a thing he has to be loved in spite of. And it’s heartbreaking.
