summary: Noah and Natalie met in high school and developed a relationship through their love of music and art. Falling in love, innocent and young, they think nothing can keep them apart. However, sometimes in the pursuit of your dreams the things we love the most get left behind.

I picked up Erin from Ashely’s house at around 10 am the following morning. I don’t think anything will ever compare to her seeing me and running with excitement into my arms for a big hug. I just hope she still feels that way later today when I tell her about Noah.

“I missed you Mom!” she calls out and I pick her up and swing us around in a circle. “Oh my sweet girl, I missed you so much!” I tell her and kiss all over her cheeks and the top of her head. We finish gathering her things and thank Ashely and her mom again before we eventually get into the car and head off to begin our girls’ day. “So nails first or food? How are you feeling?” I ask as I turn on the radio and begin backing out of the driveway. 

“FOOD! Please! We only had cereal for breakfast and you know I need more than that.” I laugh because I know exactly that. My girl can eat! “Okay, so first food and then nails!” I say, then reach over to turn up the radio when I hear “Dancing Queen” by ABBA come on. We sing our hearts out on the drive to our favorite breakfast spot near our house. We sit in our regular corner booth by the back window. I order a coffee and a full stack of pancakes with eggs and bacon. Erin orders an orange juice and the same amount of food and I know she’ll finish it all. She recaps me on the last two days and all the fun she had with her friend, “but I missed you and Hales a lot. I’m happy to be back home now.” she says stuffing a huge piece of pancake into her mouth. “I’m happy you’re home too little bug, but why don't you take smaller bites? I don’t need you choking thirty minutes after getting you back.” She smiles with her mouth full of food, “okay” her muffled voice comes out and I can’t help but laugh. 

With breakfast finished the two of us head to the nail salon and I decide we should really pamper ourselves and we get the deluxe mani/pedi package. The salon I like plays old MTV music videos on big TVs all around the room. The sound of Paramore while my feet soak in the soothing heat and the massage chair digs into my back puts me into a state of complete relaxation and I find my mind wandering. Stuck on a moment from the night before, Noah and I sitting together on the couch and our almost kiss. If things were different, if we lived in an alternate universe and it wasn’t ten years later I would have closed the distance and would have let myself be sucked into his gravity. He has everything he wants now, his music, his band, it’s what he left to find ten years ago.

I look over at Eric who’s set the chair to the back-patting setting that has her voice bouncing “Ah, ah, ah, m-o-o-m, d-o-o-o I s-o-u-n-d w-e-i-r-d.” the smile that breaks across my face is full of love as I take in the beautiful girl in front of me. “You sound perfect baby,” I say and ruffle her hair softly. The rest of our appointment goes by in a relaxing daze. We laugh while Erin tells me about her last two days. We finish up and I mentally prepare myself for the conversation we are about to have. I am going to tell her about Noah. I just hope she doesn’t hate me afterward. 

We get back to the house and she rushes into her room to unload her dirty clothes and reunite with the stuffed animals she had to leave behind. “Fluffy! I never want to be separated again!” I hear her exclaim from outside of her room. Before talking to her I head into my room and open my closet door, I’m looking for a certain shoe box. “Where the hell is it?” I ask myself, “Ah ha!” It’s nestled deep into the corner hiding under the Carhart hoodie I borrowed from Haylie who stole it from who knows. I take a deep breath and lift the lid of the box. On top are several photos of me and Noah, some of the two of us, and Nicholas as well. Wadded up in a tight ball is the Bring Me The Horizon shift Noah gave me all those years ago. There’s also a CD, some random ticket stubs, drawings, and more pictures at the bottom. I decide to just take the whole box and head towards Erin’s room.

Knocking on the door I hear a soft, “Come in!” I walk into her room and see that she’s decided today is the day she’s going to reorganize her bookshelf. 

“Hey sweety, can I talk to you about something?” I ask and try to hide the nervousness in my voice. “Umm yeah, is everything okay? You sound weird.” So I didn’t do a great job at hiding it. “Yes, everything is okay. There’s just something that I need to talk to you about. Something important.”

Two lines appear between her eyebrows and her face contorts in confusion. “Is this an I can keep working and listening important or do I need to sit next to you on the bed?” she asks and I pat a spot next to me on the bed to wordlessly answer her question. “Oof, okay,” she whispers out and climbs next to me on her bed.

“You remember how I told you that I got pregnant when I was still in high school but my boyfriend and I had already broken up?” she continues looking at me with confusion all over her face but nods slightly, “Yeah, I remember. You said you two never saw each other again.” I take her hand and smile, trying to fight the tears in my eyes.

I open the box and hand her a picture of Noah and I. “His name is Noah. This is your father.” She takes the photo and looks back and forth between me and and younger version in the photo. “You look so different,” she says and I huff a laugh. “Yeah, that’s what growing up will do to you.” 

“Where is he?” she asks quietly looking up at me. “Well, he’s actually in town for a few days if you would like to meet him.”

“Where has he been?” she asks and that takes me off guard. I struggle with what to say, not wanting to keep anything from her but also not wanting to upset her. “He’s been in Los Angeles. That’s where he works.”

“What does he do?”

“He’s in a band, playing music, and sings all around the world.”

“Hm,” she says and I’m not sure what she’s thinking. 

“So he didn’t want me?” and there it is. The knife in my heart makes it hard to keep the food down from earlier but I push through, remaining strong.

“Oh no sweety, that’s not true at all. He didn’t know for so long. It’s very complicated adult stuff. Things that took me a long time to understand myself” I try to explain to her. 

“Will you tell me when I’m older the complicated stuff?”

“Of course baby, I’ll tell you anything you’d like to know about him.”

“Is he nice?” Erin asks in a quiet shy voice, “Do you think he would like me?”

I wrap her up in my arms and squeeze her tightly, “he is very nice and he will like you very much I promise.” I run my hand down her head, soothing her soft brown hair.”Does that mean you’d like to meet him?”

The air is still in the room as Erin takes time to think. Her small face scrunched in concentration. “I think I would like to meet him, yes. But are things going to change? My friend Brody’s parents don’t live together and he goes to his dad’s house every other weekend. Do I have to do that now?” I pull her closer until my head is resting on top of hers. “Nothing will change without you making that decision. Right now, we take things one step at a time.” she nods her head and wraps her arms as tight as she can around me.

“Would you be interested in meeting him tomorrow? He will be leaving again soon with his band so we won’t see him again for a few weeks. I can tell him we can wait if you’d be more comfortable.” I’m also definitely scheduling an earlier therapy appointment for her this week. Her head remains buried in my side while she takes everything in. I am giving her all the time she needs to process, so if she wants to wait until he’s more available I don’t blame her. 

“I think I would like to meet him. But what if you just invited him over here? So I can show him my stuff and maybe he will like me even more?” 

I move back so I can take her small face into my hands. “I can do that but I need to to listen to me now, there is no one on this planet that could possibly not like you Erin Howlston and I know for a fact that he will love you so much because you are you and you are perfect,” I emphasize my point my giving her cheeks a little squeeze. “But you have to think that because you’re my mom.” she quips through pursed lips. “And he’s your father, so by your logic, he must also think that,” I argue back and I see her eyes turned down slightly in the corner.

“But he made you sad right? That’s why you broke up when you were in high school. I don’t want him to make you sad again.” My heart swells. While I drop an atomic bomb of information about her life she’s worried about my feelings. I must be doing something right with this whole parenting thing.

“Sweetie, that was a long time ago. My heart is all better now and I’m not sad anymore. I am so so so unbelievably happy with our life. With you and Aunt Haliey, Uncle Kyle and Aunt Mags, and little Natasha. I think Noah is a very good person and he wants to be in your life because he cares about you. Even without having met you.” She gives me a small smile and hugs me again.” okay, I want to meet him. You said tomorrow right?” she looks up at me with her deep brown eyes that have always been just like his. “Tomorrow it is. I will give him a call later today, but what do you want to do now? Play? We could watch a movie? Or draw together?”

Quickly detangling from my arms she races to pick up her paper and stretching pencils, “Drawing please! I need help with the cat I’m drawing.” 

We spend the next few hours drawing together on her bedroom floor laughing and listening to music. For Christmas last year she asked for a Google Mini so she could ask it to play music whenever she wanted. Now we are listening to “The Very Best Of Otis Redding”. When she was a baby I listened to it all the time. I used to sing “I’ve Been Loving You Too Long” while rocking her to sleep. Sometimes I walk by her room and she is listening to it while reading or playing with her toys and it reminds me of holding her when she was so little and how she would hold my finger so tightly.

I feel the tug of guilt in my gut about Noah having missed those moments but force it down, there’s nothing that can be done about the past but we can create new memories with the three of us together. Even if Noah and I aren’t together we can be the two parents that Erin needs. Maybe we can even be friends.

Later, once Erin wanted time alone to play with her toys I went into my room to call Noah. I haven’t been able to talk to Haylie about any of this yet, she woke up late with a hangover and had to run out of the house for the day to meet with her editor to talk about her next book release.

I close my door most of the way, only keeping a small sliver open in case Erin calls out for me. I sit on the edge of my bed and hit the green call button on my new Noah contact page, It rings a few times before I hear the sound of him picking up on the other end.

Hey! Natty, how are you doing? How’s it going?

Hi Noah, things are good. How are you? 

There’s rustling in the background of his call, “oohh is that Natalie??” I hear who I think is Folio.

Yes, shush…not you Nat! You don’t have to shush. Sorry, Folio is being an idiot.

I’m good, just working on some new remixes for our deluxe album.

I just finished talking with Erin and she suggested I invite you over tomorrow to meet. Is that okay?

Tomorrow sounds great! What time is good for you two?

How does 12:30 work? I can order us sandwiches from the sub shop in town, Erin’s favorite.

Perfect, 12:30 is perfect. Thank you so much, Natty. I won’t let you down again. I promise.

I try not to blush like a preteen at the way his voice goes almost breathless as he makes his promise to me. 

Um. so I’ll see you tomorrow then, bye!

I try to rush off the phone as fast as possible before I let myself word-vomit anything stupid.

Bye Natty, I’ll see you tomorrow, looking forward to seeing you and meeting Erin. 

A few minutes I hear Haylie unlock the door and head into the house and she calls out like she did the night before. “Honeys!! I’m home!” she calls from the front room. “Hey Hales!” Erin and I both call out.

Before I have the chance to call down to her to come up so I can relay everything that’s happened since we separated after the concert, she is racing up the stairs taking two at a time. She swings my door open, stepping into my room with a huge face-splitting smile on her face. “Sooo?? How did it go?” she asks moving closer into my room and creating the same small gap in the door before sitting down next to me on the bed. “Well, before I drunkenly barged in. sorry about that. That Folio knows how to throw them back, he’s pretty hot don’t you think?”

She has this twinkle in her eye when she says it and I laugh and roll my eyes at her. “It went well, he was a little upset at first which I wasn’t surprised by. He cried I cried, it was very emotional. He wants to meet her and then stay in Austin during their break in between tour dates.” As I recant my mind whirls and everything hits me more than I expected. “He said that he wanted this life with me, wanted the family and the happiness and the love that he should have fought harder for me, should have never let me go.” I try to keep my voice steady but I can feel my throat getting thick with emotion. Haylie wraps her arm around me and remains quiet while I continue telling her all about what happened. “And then when I was showing him pictures in her baby book there was this moment..” I slowly trail off and she pops forward and her eyes widen in surprise.

“What kind of moment?” she asks in a voice that goes all jelly-like and I manage to look slightly shameful before I tell her. That I so easily folded in his presence is borderline embarrassing, just shows how powerful his hold is still over my heart. But right now I can’t think with my heart, now is the time to think with my brain. While also considering Erin’s heart. 

“We might have almost kissed,” I tell her while I bury my face in my hands. “OH MY GOD! NATALIE !” she shrieks and I quickly throw my hands over her mouth. “Shush! Haliey oh my god, Erin will hear you!” and just like that I hear her little voice calling from down the hall, “everything okay in there?” she asks. “Yes!” “Everthing is fine!” we answer in unison and I think she retreats back into her room.

“You almost kissed him! How? What did he say? Did he lean in? How did he act after the almost kiss,” she shoots out the questions in a rapid-fire succession and I rub the sides of my temples before answering her. “Um. I guess he was kind of leaning in, he was doing that thing you know. When a guy looks between your eyes and your lips. I felt so weak. Oh my god, I almost kissed him, and then the book fell and I remembered what we were doing and why he was there and I felt so stupid.”

“You are NOT stupid! There were a lot of emotions flowing, you hadn’t had a moment alone with him in years and it’s not like when you broke up you two weren’t completely and totally in love with each other. It’s not like those feelings just go away.” she says while rubbing up and down along my back. 

“I just can’t do that with him, It’s not a good idea for the two of us to do anything that could jepordize Erin’s happiness.” I nod to myself, wiping one of my hands down my face and then raking them through my hair. Haliey and I flop backwards onto the pillows while I finish catching her up on everything that happened, including my conversation with Erin and then my phone call with Noah right before she got home. 

“You want me to clear out tomorrow so y’all have some privacy?” she asks and I balk at the thought. “No way! I would never ask you to leave your own house. Plus, you’re such an important person in Erin’s life, I’m sure she would also want you here.” 

The three of us spend the rest of our evening lounging in the living room watching TV in our pajamas. We make homemade pizzas and cookies for dinner together in the kitchen while singing along to Disney’s greatest hits. We end the night all cuddled together on the couch watching Erin’s favorite movie “The Secret Life of Arrietty” and when she falls asleep I carry her up the stairs into her room and deposit her into her bed. I gently kiss her forehead and turn on her glowing nightlight before closing the door and heading back to help Haylie finish cleaning the kitchen. 

The next day is quickly upon us and I nervously watch the clock ticking away as we get closer and closer to 12:30. I picked up the subs a few minutes ago so hopefully Noah isn’t late. No one likes a soggy sub.

Just seconds before the second-hand crosses over the 12 on the clock there is a knock on the door that causes me to jump straight out of my seat. Haylie laughs at me as she rubs my shoulders walking past and into her room. She told Erin that if she needed her at any time to just barge in and get her. I walk towards the door and Erin suddenly looks very nervous and gets up to hide behind my back. “Are you okay baby?” I ask her quietly before answering the door. She nods her head against my back and whispers, “Yes, I’m fine.” she gripping the back of my jeans but I think if she didn’t want to do this anymore she would say something, she’s just nervous. Hell, I’m nervous. 

I open the door and Noah is standing there with a bouquet of wildflowers in one hand and a stuffed monkey in the other. “Hi,” he says in a soft and nervous voice. I return his greeting with a warm smile. “Come on in” I open the door wider so he can come in and Erin scoots along with me not quite ready to reveal herself. “How are you doing?” he asks and hands the flowers over to me, “these are for you.” He gestures to the monkey, “And this is for Erin.” she peaks her head out from behind me and looks up towards Noah and the monkey. “That’s for me?” she asks quietly. Noah crouches down to be at her eye level and hands out the toy to her. “Yes, this is for you. Do you like monkeys?” He asks and I see a small smile appear on her face. “I do like monkeys. I saw some at the zoo a few days ago with my friend Ashely.” She holds out her hand to accept the offering. “Hi Erin.” he says with a warm smile, “I’m Noah, it’s very nice to meet you?” She slowly eases out from behind me and is now standing beside me and at eye level with Noah, still crouched. “It’s nice to meet you too. Even though you made my mom sad.” 

Oh, Jesus, this is going to be an interesting afternoon.

Jingle Bells🎄 What is your favorite holiday?

I honestly really like Easter! My family was never very religious growing up, but my mom loved any excuse to cook. So she's always made ham, potato casserole, and croissants on Easter. She usually follows it with some really good pies too! I also just really love this time of year, the weather is usually beautiful and there are flowers blooming and everything is green again. Painting and collecting eggs was always really fun to me too!

Nintendo🎮 Which animal crossing game is your favorite?

Definitely New Leaf!! It's a really nostalgic and comforting game to me. I think the soundtrack is absolutely wonderful, and the pixelated graphics are just really cute to me. Not to mention the furniture in New Leaf is so adorable! The bug collection and the mushroom collection are my favorites. I just think that overall it's a lot cozier than New Horizons. To be completely honest, I'm not very impressed by New Horizons. I was soooo disappointed with their soundtrack when the game initially came out. Wild World is really fun too, but I haven't played it nearly as much as I've played New Leaf. New Leaf is also so much more fun to play with friends too since there are the multiplayer games on the island. Not to mention I love collecting all the ore gems in New Leaf!

Hello again! I am doing better atm - I've basically had like, one long bug for three weeks, and like...I'd start feeling better. Go to work. Get worse from the exertion. Have to miss work. Get better slightly, so go to work...yeah XD I do seem to be on the mend now, I've just got a bit of residual pain and cough, and some of my underlying issues are being a bit unpleasant. But I'm taking it XD I had to take almost a week off work last week but I think the prolonged rest helped.

And hey that sounds really cool though!! So guessing you're in uni then? How's that going? Where I am it's starting to come up to exam season, so the people that I know are in uni at the moment are all quite stressed, bless them.

I don't mind showing you them like, privately, but due to my style being quite...unique (by courtsey of making a lot of it) I try to keep it off public tumblr to some extent, just because anyone who knows me would know immediately this was me. Tbh it's not a big deal if they did, but since I work with kids I feel the need to be more careful with social media these days.

And ok but see, I have very straight hair, and I've always wanted frizzy/fluffy hair!! Sometimes I fear we just want what we don't have XD

I think the hypocrisy is related to the modern world however! Social media kinda encourages a very black and white thinking of things, and most things are not so black and white (I mean like, obviously if someone's like. "Haha, I want to murder babies"...that's not a black and white issue. But you get me XD) So you end up with people being like "x is always bad". Then they'll later be like..."this thing that's basically x is fine"?

Inflation is SHIT. Look when I moved into my current place my phone bill was exactly 10 quid a month. It's not like 13 something!! It's not the biggest hike, my energy bill has freaking doubled, but by nature of it starting at a solid 10 I can see the inflation so much easier. It's a 30% increase!!

And see I am very lucky, I have seen a few online friends! My gf and I met through tumblr, and I've got two close friends that by thankful virtue of being in the same country I've been able to meet quite a few times...I met one who I've since lost contact with sadly, but I'm hoping to meet a couple more! OH and one is in a ldr with one of my close friends so I'll see her when she comes here (well I should do) but idk when that would be yet.

And look I have SO many fast fashion complaints. A big reason why I do so much thrifting and sewing is because I just hate fast fashion. I know it's sorta popular in some circles to talk about the shit quality, but it's shit because companies are paying people like a penny a piece for it -.- I refuse to use places like shein and temu...

I think in the next five years...generally I'm wanting to see a shift in climate change. I have a lot of climate anxiety, and I'm hoping that we start getting actual change in how politicians and companies approach the issues?? I want more eco changes. More bikes, cheaper plant based food, less fossil fuels, etc...I also want my government to stop making life harder for no reason. They recently decided people who have visas to work in the care industry over here can't have their kids come from overseas too?? Like there are people who now have their kids in other countries cause of this shit??? If they're working here, they deserve their kids to be here. How is that not the default idea!!

Less generally, I'm hoping to see improvements in my personal life XD I want to see a couple doctors to get some shit sorted out, and I want to improve my art further, and sort out where exactly I'm going with my career.

Demigod MC Series: Athena

So. I have to deal with the virgin goddesses… By mythos, there really shouldn't ever be children of Artemis, Hestia, or Athena (yes, Athena was a virgin goddess). PJ got past that by making it canon that Annabeth and her siblings were born from cracking open Athena's skull (yes, that's also more or less the canon explanation). They gloss over it real quick but I remember, Rick. I've always remembered and that mental image has haunted me for years...

I can't, in good conscience, ignore the history around Athena's worship (call it an academic restraint) but I REFUSE to do the skull thing. So, since I make the rules here, I'm going with magic adoption. They still get magic powers, they're just more human than demigod. Cool? Cool.

Lucifer

The human that popped out of the portal seemed to have enough sense not to attack everyone in the room for a change, but even Lucifer could tell that was more of a strategic choice than for lack of ability...

Their very existence was highly unusual… and quite worrisome. He wasn't even aware Athena could have "children" of her own, but apparently she had been taking in some particularly bright humans to raise and train like her own...

Unbeknownst to him, a surprising amount of human scholars, diplomats, and generals have her to thank for their trade… and that alone should speak to the level of intrigue at play here. 

Was this an accident or Athena's attempt to plant an Olympian spy in the Devildom too…? Either way, he didn't trust them from the get go…

Look, Lucifer isn’t stupid. Athena is a goddess of Wisdom and War and war happens on more than just the battlefield… 

Since they've shown up records have been going missing, official documents keep getting misplaced, and he swears that there's some kind of bug in the student council room...!

It's infuriating watching the MC suck up to Diavolo when he's almost certain that they're running their own agenda behind the scenes! And he can't prove any of it!! They cover their tracks too well!

Lucifer has one of those corkboards covered in newspapers and string in a secret wing of the Castle - 100% dedicated to just tracking the MC's activities…. The longer they're there, the more obsessed he becomes...

He swears between Simeon, Solomon, and MC he feels like a shepherd wondering why the sheep are growling… The Devildom has never been in more danger than it is right now... Send help.

Mammon

To be honest, he kind of thought that they were just going to be Satan 2.0 but that's not really true.

They're more than just a book sponge! Though they do read, like a lot. Let’s just say from one schemer to another… Game recognizes Game.

They come up with plans and ideas soooo fast, it’s insane! Honestly, there are times where he has a new money-making plot and he just brings it to the MC first to run it over. 

Nine times out of ten, not only do they sniff out any problems but they have a solution for him in a matter of minutes! His scheme game has been on point since they’ve shown up!!

They’re also even better tutoring than Satan is, so he’s even managed to get a couple A’s for the first time in his life! Lucifer actually told him he was proud (which he secretly recorded and now uses as a ringtone much to his brother’s regret...)

So yeah, he likes them... buuut that doesn’t keep him from thinking they act a little weird sometimes... 

Mammon: *points to a unused tower close to the RAD building* Over there is the Tower of Sorrow. We use it for storage.

MC: Ah. Interesting… *starts writing in a notebook, muttering* It may need a few minor tweaks but the location is defensible...

Mammon: *stops* Ya say somethin’?

MC: *looks back up* Nope! Say, you’ve been to the Castle a lot haven’t you? Do you know any good ways in?

Mammon: Uhm… Why do ya want to know that…? *starts looking around for Lucifer*

MC: In case of emergencies. I like being prepared. 🙂

Mammon: Look, I don’t know what Lucifer might’a told ya…

MC: I’ll pay you a thousand Grimm for it.

Mammon: Well shit, ya want those maps with or without color?

... Yeeeah, that’s pretty weird… But it’s probably fine. I mean, as long as they keep giving him money, who’s he to complain? 🤷‍♀️

Leviathan

Also thought that they’d be a lot more like Satan but was pleasantly surprised that they were into more than books.

What else did they like exactly? Military strategy!!

It’s been a looong time since he’s been able to talk to someone who’s actually interested in all the battles he’s fought, both in the Celestial Realm and the Devildom, and their curiosity is kind of flattering...! Not a lot of people take his strategic prowess all that seriously anymore...

Plus, they are the BEST partner to have any turn-based strategy game. Hands down. He once got stuck on a level of D-COM for weeks until the MC walked in and mopped the floor with the AI!! They have a serious head for probability and tactics.

The House once made the mistake of letting these two be on the same team during a Hell Game and they absolutely demolished the competition. Mammon didn’t even get a single shot off before half his team was lost to a rigged paint grenade… It took a whole day to clean up… 

However, Levi’s also noticed some odd things about the human… He likes that they’re interested in his past but maybe they’re a little… too interested?

Levi: -and that’s how we defeated the Four Horsemen before they escaped from Purgatory. 

MC: Wow, Levi that’s seriously impressive!! *furiously scribbling on a notebook*

Levi: Well t-thanks… 😅 But, uhm... are you writing that down…?

MC: Hm? Oh no, just doodling. *they lift up the notebook to show a bunch of cute little sketches on the page… and not the magic-based invisible ink all over them…*

Levi: Oh you draw too? Can you do fanart???

MC: Eh, sometimes. But say Levi, can you tell me about your naval ranks again? I’m still really curious… *gets the pen ready again with a smile*

Satan

Oh, it's been a long game of cat-and-mouse between these two… and unfortunately, it’s been pretty addicting too.

He honestly had every intention of tricking the human into making a huge mess do he could bother Lucifer, but at every turn they proved just a hair too clever for him...

He once gave them a cursed book to “lend” to Lucifer, but they saw through it the moment they touched it and lifted the spell before handing it over.

He rigged a podium to spray glitter during one of Lucifer's speeches but the MC disconnected the trigger mic before he even got on stage. It was pretty dang frustrating...

At one point he got so desperate that, just as a test, he tried to trap them in the House's Music Room. Fortunately for them, it only took a few minutes to work out an escape. They even passed by him in the hallway with a wink!

It's confounding! It's infuriating!! 

...and it's so damn sexy... He should be furious but he’s just in awe!!

Add on that they know their art, literature, and multiple different crafts thanks to the tutelage of their adopted mother and that’s it. He’s finished. This boy is in love.

Truthfully though, a part of him is 90% sure that they’re also gathering state secrets… Like, they’re watching Barbs and Diavolo far too close for comfort - but he just can't bring himself to care. 🤷‍♀️

The MC could walk into his room one day and say, "Hey, do you want to help overthrow the monarchy with me?" and he dreads it because deep down he knows that he wouldn’t say no…

Take some notes, kids. Some bad influences get you to drink or do drugs. Others pull you into a centuries long conspiracy to destabilize and topple rival realms from within… But he has fallen for their brain hard. Devil help them all…

Asmodeus 

They’re pretty clever, he’ll give them that, but uh… Are they a little off to anybody else?

Asmo is a charmer by birthright so he has a bit of nose for when someone’s just a liiittttle too nice… Not much of a nose mind you, because he can be thrown off by compliments himself, but enough to think that the MC might be a little too… “kind” for their own good...

First off, who wants to spend that much time with Levi?? They don’t even seem that interested in anime! They just keeping asking him for old war stories…

Then all the sucking up they do to Diavolo and Barbatos? Look, he gets it. Diavolo is a delicious piece of man-hunk and his butler could give him a lesson or two in sweet-talk (and he has), but they seem to be just a little too… nosy.

Of course, Asmo’s suspicions disappear pretty quickly after they start to spoil him with spa nights and beauty secrets they picked up from “casual research” into the subject.

And you know, get a little Demonus in Asmo and start massaging his back? Oh, sweetie he’ll sing like a bird!! … with gossip. Singing with gossip.

Asmo: So I’ve heard that Lucifer has been spending more time at RAD than usual… His whole club is talking about it, they think he’s meeting with some witch!

MC: Hm, is that so? *works on a knot near his shoulder blades* What do you think?

Asmo: Ooh~! Right there, MC! *purrs and lays his head on his arms* Well come on, this is Lucifer we’re talking about! I’m sure he’s just working.

Asmo: Hmm... though come to think of it, I think I heard him asking Barbatos for the spare keys to the Tower of Sorrow…

MC: Oh really? Huh. *works out the knot and gets up* I just remembered that I left some papers with Satan... I’ll be right back.

Asmo: You’re going already??

MC: *waves him off quickly* I’ll be right back, Asmo. *hurries out the door to do totally on-the-up-and-up things… surely*

Beelzebub 

Honestly he doesn't like this one… But not for the reasons you'd expect.

He agrees with everyone else that they seem a little shady, but Solomon and Simeon are too so it's not like that's anything new... 🤷‍♀️

No, no. He dislikes them because they're the person who FINALLY figured out how to keep him from eating all the food in the kitchen!!

Turns out that the trick was to put a teleportation charm on the fridge door that would send all the food away if it’s opened after a certain time of night… 

And where does it go? The Purgatory Hall fridge. And where does the Purgatory Hall food go…? The HoL fridge…

It doesn’t sound so bad until you remember that it means half of their fridge is now Solomon’s leftovers…. 🤢

After they put the same kind of spell on the pantry, it was all over… He couldn't get midnight snacks from the House anymore… Everything was contaminated by Solomon…

The MC is a nice enough person, he doesn’t have a lot of complaints about them, but he wants them to leave. Now. This is inexcusable… He’s so hungry… and he doesn’t want to die by ��goulash” or whatever Solomon calls his latest culinary catastrophe… He’s still too young for death… 😓

Belphegor 

In a way, he absolutely could not have asked for a better person to help him get out of that attic.

… In another way, he got one of the worst possible people to try and kill... Like. They saw through his scheme sooo fast…

How was he supposed to know that the human had training in body language and sniffing out lies???

Getting the door open was a piece of cake for them. They knew enough magic to undo the seals and just rummaged around Lucifer's stuff long enough to find the key to the door. He could not have found a more competent individual for a break out, really.

It’s just… well he didn’t expect to go from locked in a room like a prisoner to tied up in enchanted rope, still like a prisoner but now mobile. 😑 

They even used his own hug ruse against him! They caught his wrists when they got close and tied him up before he could shake them off...

Admittedly, it wasn't exactly the best look for them either - what with walking Belphegor downstairs to the others like a one-man-prison-caravan but they're as silver-tongued as they are sly so they talked their way out of it beautifully… 

And like hell was he going to trust them after that!! And not even Beel liked them so something had to be up...

Well, you want a detective? Look no farther than Belphie (no seriously, it’s in the canon). He can put things together pretty fast when he puts his mind to it and watching the MC for a while gave him enough proof to work off of...

He always knew that, humans were bad news and the MC just proved it to him all over again. They are bad news, bad bad news and they’re going to-!

Overthrow… Diavolo…? Is that what he is getting from them…? Huh…

Wait a second, MC. You might just have him interested… 😏

Your love for pet names Johnny gives V made me think about some other names he could call them, and I tried to come up with something less common... I think "lark" could be kinda cute, Johnny could probably say sarcastically that it's because they're drab and live on the ground and eat bugs, but larks are well-known for their beautiful voice and singing ability, and Johnny's a musician so of course he'd value and relate to a creature that understands music... Not sure if I think he'd know this factoid, I can see him either not giving a shit or him just learning it accidentaly and keeping it in mind for no reason (untill he met V, so maybe it was fate, who knows 😉). Also, larks pick the best singing males for their mates, sooo... 😏😏😏

As you said, I love nicknames in ships so much, and just nicknames in general. Like even if they’re used condescendingly instead of genuinely affectionate, or betttttter they start off condescending and then become genuinely affectionate. 

My Princess/Prince and My Little Merc are my two favorite canon nicknames, because A) I die for nicknames prefaced by the word my, like just heheheh it make me happy and B) for me I love diminutive nicknames with things like little thrown in front of them, (which is probably linked to some internal bullshit for me but I choose not to unpack that at the moment) 

Some others I go crazy for darling, doll, and dear; (look Johnny is technically from Texas and technically a yeehaw boy, though I can feel him strangling me through the computer screen for that. BUT THE SOFTER SOUTHERN SOUNDING PET NAMEs GET ME OKAY)

​With my own V, they’re compared to a puppy a lot so that could kinda be a nickname. They’re the young immature puppy compared to Johnny the cat and Takemura the trained lap dog; cause animal symbolism.

I like Johnny having a lot of honey related nicknames for them. Cause my V eats a lot of (synthetic cause cyberpunk) honey suckers and candy (Its what Vik gives them for being a good patient as a joke and its like one of the three things they always remember to have in their fridge.) So, honey bee and honey bear; maybe on the table (which i know they’re probably too cutesy, but like my V loves honey and also has like a big cozy hoodie they wear at home with bear ears on it, so it fits) 

I also was hoping he’d call V samurai more, like in the promo and he doesn’t actually. Which, how dare, call me samurai, you whore. Like they really made me think that’d be like a thing. Speaking of me calling Johnny a whore; insults used affectionately. are chefs kiss. Johnny and V’s entire relationship half the time is just, “ASSHOLE (affectionate)” and I loooove it!!!!!!!

It never did. I think these two shows are some of the best television ever created.

Picking a top five (in no particular order,) since these are inherently sad and tragic shows...

1. Rebecca’s forced suicide at Peter’s hand.

2. Nellie’s death and realization that she is the Bent-Neck Lady.

3. Luke’s reaction to Nellie’s death - how he could literally feel it.

4. Jamie going to the lake and seeing Dani’s body and begging her to take her, too.

5. Dani having sleep paralysis and being unable to help Arthur when he has an aneurism.

Most well done character death:

I mean, they’re all really good and well-done. Appropriately heart-wrenching, shocking, and they all work in context of the plot. If I had to choose just one, it would probably be Nellie’s, since it’s the basis of the entire first season. The hints about the Bent-Neck Lady and the way we slowly get to know Nellie, and then come to love her the most right as she’s finally about to die - ugh, so good, so sad.

Well, the series is officially on a semi-permanent hiatus. Mike Flannagan said he has no plans for future seasons in this universe. He is currently finishing up work on another horror show, Midnight Mass, so I’m looking forward to that. I would love to see more from this universe and this cast, though.

Most shocking twist:

The Bent-Neck Lady, for sure. So well foreshadowed, and still so shocking when the realization hits. My stomach dropped through the soles of my feet. 

When did you start watching/reading?:

I caught this bandwagon pretty early - only a week or two after the first season premiered. I remember watching and realizing they had synced up the show’s timeline with real life - if you watched in 2018, Nellie dies that same year, and her date of death was just a week or two after the premiere. An extra little detail that made me very sad.

Best animal/creature:

There are no good animals in this show, lol. Fuck those kittens.

Bly Manor is soooo pretty.

I gotta go with Henry Wingrave’s doppelganger. It didn’t really do much for me, and I think the episode that centers on him, while showing important exposition, was one of the weakest in the anthology.

I would argue Olivia Crain. She starts out as a creative, kind, loving mother, and is slowly unraveled by the house - but that core of goodness is still inside her, and still motivates everything she does.

I think this show does a great job of making all of its characters complex and interesting. I wish we had learned more about Joey, but I think she’s meant to be unsympathetic on some level. But at the end of the day, she’s kind of just Luke’s addict almost-girlfriend, and a pretty weak character among much better ones.

Scariest moment:

Ooooh, that’s tough. I think for me, it’s when Steve sees Nellie’s ghost. It’s not a super spooky episode, up to that moment. But that close-up shot of Nellie’s graying, dead face, her eyes all fucked up, her mouth gaping open unnaturally wide - and the sound she makes. Woof. Ugh. Aaaaah. It’s a lot.

Manigoldo and “beauty standards”

I’ve been rereading Lost Canvas and commenting on stuff on Twitter, but there’s something I need more space to address after it was brought to my attention. It’s a mistranslation from the anime that bugs me A LOT, and it has to do with Manigoldo. This is the scene in question, during the Manigoldo vs Veronica showdown in episode 16:

The translation has Manigoldo saying: "Are you hitting on me? I don’t like people who wear too much make-up. I’m only interested in pretty girls!” Excuse me, “I only like pretty girls”?????? NO.  And here is why this is important for Manigoldo’s character. Let’s take a look at the original phrase:

The first part “Are you hitting on me? I don’t like people who wear too much make-up” is acceptable. But THE SECOND PART. Oh boy. What Manigoldo is saying (in his messy Manigoldo way of speaking): “Bijin ni urusai!”  The structure “ni urusai” has to do with “being picky about.” What you put before “ni urusai” is what you are picky about. In this case, Manigoldo is basically saying he is picky when it comes to what he considers beautiful people (bijin).

The word “bijin” ( 美人 ) means “beautiful person”. It refers to someone with a special kind of beauty, an elegant, ethereal, very refined beauty. Usually it’s used when talking about a type of beautiful women, but not always. Still, I guess that’s where the mistranslation comes from. If it had been translated as “beautiful people” I’d give it a pass.  The official French and Argentinian edition of the manga got it right in different ways, by making it gender neutral:

Argentina: “My (beauty) standards are high!” France: “I’m pretty picky when it comes to beauty criteria” THANK YOU, FRANCE AND ARGENTINA. Also yes, I have both editions because I’m a NERD, leave me and my various editions of Lost Canvas in different languages ALONE, okay. His problem is not with Veronica being a man. It’s with Veronica not being beautiful enough and also being too flashy. You may be like, “Oh, but you said BIJIN is usually used when talking about beautiful GIRLS, so you’re nitpicking!” Well, let’s see an example where the word in question, BIJIN, is used to refer to a MAN. Can we find one in Lost Canvas? And how about we take something Manigoldo himself said? Who does Manigoldo call BIJIN? I guess we’ll never know. Oh, wait. We do know. Because he says it about someone who is famous for being beautiful, and he uses the exact same word to describe him:

“Okage de BIJIN de buaisou na douryou to futaritabi! Ureshii to oumou ga yo, Albafica!” “Thanks to that I'm on trip for two with this beautiful (BIJIN) antisocial coworker! I’m so happy about that, Albafica!” So canonically, Manigoldo thinks Albafica is A BEAUTY and uses the word bijin to refer to him. He certainly fits the criteria of the ethereal, refined beauty Manigoldo says he likes (and WHO is more beautiful than Alba?). But that’s not all. There’s another example of a guy Mani describes as “bijin”

“Shikashi, Black Saints ni mo anna BIJIN ga iru” “So there’s someone who’s a beauty (BIJIN) among the Black Saints too” What?? Another person who Manigoldo considers a beauty? Also a guy?? And this is the guy Manigoldo is talking about (man, he really has a type):

To make it clear that Manigoldo really, truly, absolutely loves beautiful people, he again uses the term when saying goodbye to Gioca. Of course, Gioca is too young and faaaar from being “bijin”. But when saying goodbye, Manioldo tells her:

“If by then (in the future) you’ve turned into a beauty (bijin), I’ll go out with you” Alright, Mani, we get it. You really like bijin people. It’s clear, you don’t need to keep repeating it every two seconds. So, are you someone who could be considered an ethereal, refined beauty? If that’s the case, no matter what your gender is, you are Manigoldo’s type. He doesn’t like “only beautiful girls”. He likes “beautiful, refined, ethereal, angelic beauties.”

Among the Gold Saints, of course he likes Albafica! This is not even a theory, this is hard canon. But who else could fit his standard? I’m thinking maybe, JUST MAYBE, Asmita? The other guys are a no-go. Sisyphos might be drop-dead-gorgeous (well, at least for me) but “bijin” is not a word that would be used to describe him.

If we take a look at other characters, I also wouldn’t call people like Calvera or Pandora bijin. Seraphina, on the other hand? Absolutely. Manigoldo would 100% think she is a beauty. But we all know who the most beautiful character is according to the Lost Canvas canon, soooo....

× I'd be a cat, 100%. Cats are my love and my life, I've always wanted to be one, tbh (not in a furry type of way, but I feel like life would be easier if I was a cat, lmao). I love how cats take no shit and do whatever they want. They're very independent and individual and I'm all here for that.

2. What two anime characters or kpop idols are your type?

× Can I do both anime characters and kpop idols??

× As for anime characters, Jaeha from Akatsuki no Yona and Kirito from Sword Art Online are totally my type!!😍

× And in terms of kpop idols... omg,, how am I supposed to *only* name two?? Hmm, thinking about it, I guess not all of my biases are my "type" per se... but there's two that come to mind right now hhhh. One of them is Kevin Moon from The Boyz, he really ticks off (almost) every bullet point in my list for my "ideal type" and honestly, this list is freaking contradictory and has vvv high standards but Kevin is THAT boi, basically my imaginative ideal boyfriend personified. :') And the second one who I'd say is totally my type is Hwang Hyunjin from Stray Kids. I've always loved drawing him the most of all kpop idols and I still do tbh (but I can't fill my feed on my insta art account with JUST Hyunjin drawings,, you know,,,). His fashion!! I'm so here for it and vibe with it so well. Plus,,,idk,,, I feel like I could connect to him in some ways so ajxjsjdjjs yeah. There's just something about him and Kevin that inspires me so much, I really love these two bois.

× YES. I decided to name a few artists because I realize I've never talked about the artists whose artworks inspire me the most. They're all on Instagram, so I'll be naming their @'s

a.) @/shooky_dough: I'm probably not the only one who knows Nikki, hehe, but her art is SO amazing. She's got this really distinct style which I'd put into the category of semirealism. Her kpop fanart is soooo good and I used her tutorials to learn how to get better at sketching. If you look at the sketches I've been posting for the past few months on my insta art account, you'll notice that they're highly inspires by Nikki's art. She's definitely the artist I'm looking at most in terms of inspiration and improving on my own art.^-^

b.) @/angelganev: His art is sooo pretty. He does semirealism and I've found him by browsing through pinterest to find some art inspiration/references/tutorials. He also does drawing contests in which his followers can draw one of his work he selects in their own style and he gives a shout out to the ones he liked best. It's always interesting!!

c.) @/melmadedooks: This man can draw about ANYTHING, he's so talented. He used to draw lots of his 'dooks' and I've found him through seeing some of his works on pinterest (again, lol). I've actually redrawn two of his 'dooks' and posted them to my art account AND HE LIKED BOTH OF THEM, I WAS SO HAPPY OMG!!! He used to draw his dooks using only one coloured pencil, so I've also started experimenting with that and instead of using a graphite pencil, I used coloured pencils for my sketches and those gave off very different vibes that I really liked!!

d.) @/rezajeez: Probably *the* kpop fanartist I've been following for the longest of times. They are AMAZING!! They mainly do huge photorealistic portraits with INSANE details. It's funny actually, because their work is the complete opposite to shooky_dough's work. While Reza draws photorealism on a big surface (probably A3? maybe more??) and draws very detailed, Nikki focuses more on sketches/more semirealistic and "simplistic" art and it's usually drawn quite small, so seeing these opposites really broadens my horizon, I think^^

e.) Last but nor least, @/rossdraws: In my opinion, he's the modern day Bob Ross! His art is so freaking stunning, have you checked out his digital art landscape series?? The amount of talent this man holds in his pinky finger is more than I've got in my whole body like- OOF a huge inspiration to me!!~

4. If you could play any instrument, which would you play?

× The guitar!! I really want to learn how to play it~

5. If you could choose one anime to live in, which one would you choose and why?

× Either Ouran High School Host Club or Your Lie In April. The first one is just so much fun and I'd love hanging out with the host club members and as for the latter,,, I just really want to be here for Kousei and help him through his anxiety because I know so well how it feels like and I also wish I could sing while he plays the piano, we'd be a great duo✊🏻😔 (I'm sorry, I couldn't choose one)

× Hmmm... that's a great question omg there's so many amazing choices I could make😭😭 But I think I'd go with Kirito, I just really really love him ahhhhh

7. Is there anything you would like to do but haven't because your friends/family didn't want to do it with you?

× There's actually a few things I could name... first, I really want to go bungee jumping (preferably from the Macau Tower, as it's the highest bungee jump in the world😍) but my fam and friends think I'm crazy for wanting to do this but I'm actually quite an adventurous person which probably not many people know about me, so I love doing stuff like that.✊🏻😂

× I would also really like to travel with friends... it's not that I dislike travelling with my mom and stepdad but whenever I can't take someone with me, I feel like such a child ??? idk,, never travelling (I wanted to say "without adults" but then I realized I AM an adult) on my own with friends and always tagging along with my parents kind of make me feel like I'm not independent or mature/grown-up for it. × I'd definitely put food and water in the bag, my phone, earphones, a portable solar charger with a USB cable (so that my phone won't die and I could chill for however long I want while watching kpop mv's and then also use my phone to call for someone to rescue me from this island once I start running low on resources), all the books I still want to read, my art supplies and a few sketch books, some towels that I could use to lay on or use as blankets, a pillow and my teddy bear, and obviously a toothbrush and toothpaste, a hairbrush and a few hair ties and bobby pins (you don't want long sweaty hair stuck to your skin during a hot summer ewww), some soap to wash myself and my clothes, sunscreen and also some insect spray to keep the bugs away!! (it's a big bag, okay)

Table Rock Lake Clans

Among the shores of Table Rock Lake, three crepuscular clans stand together. They worship a pantheon of gods that bless them with their suffixes and as far as relations go, they’re fairly friendly towards each other.

I’d like some constructive criticism and some prompts to spur on worldbuilding. They sort of have a story, but only because I can demonstrate my worldbuilding… I’m a worldbuilder first and a writer second, I’m just like this.

Yay more clans! Also thats a big mood if I ever saw one, I too am best at worldbuilding, the writing? Not so much...

HOLLOWCLAN

The clan taking up most of the shore. Their camp is on an island hollow that’s only accessible by swimming. They’re stocky with rudder-like tails (some not even having one at all), normally have diluted colors, lots of white, and lighter shades of eyes (sage green, light blue, pale yellow, etc). Deafness is somewhat common, so there’s a bit of a stereotype that they’re loud. The beauty standard is a gray classic tabby with 40% white spread asymmetrically on a broad-shouldered cat with dainty paws.

I appreciate how detailed the understanding of their appearance is. Im assuming the tailless is the manx gene? I also like the idea of a hidden camp acessible only by swimming, its extra safe.

The most well-off of the clans, they’re very relaxed, but rather distrusting when it comes to outsiders. Probably due to being duped in the past by loners and rogues and allegedly a kittypet at one point.

Thats understandable, and also explains their isolated camp. If they feel unsafe, they would want to have as many precautions as possible, and it would make them less likely to bring in new cats to join as it would reveal their secrets.

Hollowclan cats tend to name their kittens after aquatic animals (Minnow, Swan, Heron), colors (Silver, Amber, White), and phenomena (Ice, Lightning, Cloud). Suffixes are commonly -leg for skilled swimming and -tail for good jumping.

THICKETCLAN

The clan in the most dense part of the forest up the stream connecting them to the Great River. Their camp is in a clearing with logs and stumps and hollowed bushes being the dens. They’re BIG kitties, think maine coon or norwegian forest, with many ticked tabbies. Reds and blacks are very common, with brown showing up every so often. Dilution is fairly rare. Eye colors stick mostly to deeper colors (umber, moss green, copper, amber) The beauty standard for toms and mollies are different. Deep red ticked tabby toms with 20% or less white is quite handsome, whereas brown tortoiseshells with 20-40% white is very beautiful. Long fur is also desirable, with broad shoulders and (especially for mollies) hips.

They sound lovely! As for the ticking, it sounds like they would have great camouflage. When you mention black, do you mean genetic black (which manifests as brown or gray tabbies) or solid black? Either way they sound lovely. Big buff boys and gorls are my absolute favorite.

Thicketclan has a noble pride associated to them, believing themselves to be descendants of the bobcats that prowl the lands. Many of them can speak Lynxish and it’s rumored some kittens are half cat, half bobcat, though that’s still up for debate.

Oh this is really really cool. It makes sense that Lynxes would have a similar language, and it could easily be hybridized. I can imagine that cats from this clan might slip into Lynxish to speak about sensitive things at gatherings or among other cats. It also fits with their appearance, particularly as big cats with ticked fur, and maybe ear tufts? Ear tufts are just so cute.

Thicketclan cats normally name their kittens after birds (Crow, Oriole, Bittern), trees (Maple, Birch, Oak), and patterns (Brindle, Speckle, Spotted). Suffixes are commonly -whisker for skilled hunting and -tail for great climbing.

GROTTOCLAN

The clan taking up the less densely wooded area and the tunnels below that. Their camp is a hollow that’s hidden by bushes and shrubs. They’re very skinny and short-furred with weirdly long legs and tails. There is very little red among the cats, but they do have pointism that pops up often, so much so that they don’t name white kittens until their apprenticeship. This also means they have the most diverse eye color, as they have really dark (bronze, orange, gold) and really light eye colors (ice blue). They often don’t have too much white, but sometimes a white cat pops up. They desire a lean, low figure with a sloped face and a perfectly symmetrical white of any degree with blue points.

Ohohoho Oriental babies. Sounds pretty standard,  although I am concerned about the not naming their white kits until they are apprentices. What do they call them until then? Hey you? Hey Whitekit? 

Due to forming from a loose collection of oddballs and unwanteds when the first two clans were fresh and new, they have a thing about honesty. It’s somewhat of a refresher to have such an honest group. They do know how to keep their cards to themselves, so not everything is laid out on the open.

Grottoclan cats often name their kittens after ground animals (Weasel, Pheasant, Mouse), bugs (Cricket, Hornet, Weaver), stones (Shale, Granite, Flint) and small plants (Chicory, Nettle, Cotton). Common suffixes are -nose for great tracking and -foot for swift running.

After having read suffixes so far, it looks like you are going for a body part based system, which makes sense, its nicely standardized. 

THE OUTCASTS

A recent collection of rebels, losers, and exiles. They live on the farthest reaches of the territories, closer the Harbor. They have cats from all the clans, plus a few loners and former kittypets among their ranks, so their appearance is quite varied.

In the clans, seers perform the promotion ceremonies, but among the outcasts, their leader performs ceremonies. The warriors themselves choose what their names will be, so long as their prefix remains untouched. Most have abandoned their prefix altogether, like Copper, some have changed their name to something unusual, like Morning Glory, and others have picked a name that, while still having a meaningful suffix, isn’t part of the suffix list, like Emberbark.

It seems like they are a more individualistic clan, in that they make their own decisions. Names are so personal too, so its interesting to see how that interacts with the rest of their culture.

If they were to become a clan, they’d probably be called something along the lines of Havenclan (though that might be an endonym). If named by the other clans, they’d probably be called something like Ridgeclan, Rivuletclan, or Beckclan.

Tossing and turning. Flipping the pillow over and over onto the cool side. Rolling onto your stomach. Rolling onto your back. Taking the blanket off. Putting it back on. It seemed like every task seemed impossible for you to go to sleep. An ache formed at your temples, between your brows, and behind your eyes. You whimpered quietly and sat up in your princess bed with messy hair and an angry pout. You heard muffled laughter coming from the living room downstairs. You huffed and grabbed Bernie, tucking him into your arm as you flung the princess sheets off your body.

“Come on, Bernie,” you whispered drowsily and left the cool comfort of your little room.

Your knee high sock clad feet padded across the wooden hallway floors quietly. You held onto the railing and carefully walked down the steps, the laughter getting louder as you came closer to the living room. When you rounded the corner, you stop and see your daddies sitting on the couch playing some soccer game.

“You made a wrong goal!” Jim groans and throws his hand in the air. “Duncan…the other one!”

“Daddies,” you called out softly, rubbing your tired eyes with your fist.

They couldn’t hear you over their chatter. Michael lets out a hearty laugh when Duncan makes another wrong groan while Jim exasperatedly groans and buries his face in his hands.

“Daddies!” You whimpered our loud.

Michael’s head snapped over to where you stood. Jim and Duncan soon follow. They see you standing there with Bernie in your arms. A sad pout is on your lips as your eyes welled with frustrated tears.

“What’s wrong, bug?” Duncan worriedly asks and motions for you to come over to him. “What happened, princess?”

“I–I can’t sleep!” You cried out, burying your face in his neck as he hushed you softly. “I’m s–so sleepy, daddy.”

“Wait right here, baby,” Jim hurriedly says and lovingly stroked your thigh before getting up and leaving to the kitchen.

Michael slides into Jim’s spot and rubs your back as you weakly cry into Duncan’s neck. You’re so irritated and barely functioning from the amount of sleep clouding your mind. It makes them upset to see you this way. Struggling with insomnia was something that happened often, but only when you weren’t little. And you always knew what to do then. But now, you’re more vulnerable and need the comfort of your daddies.

“Okay, gorgeous,” Jim calls out quietly and hands a bottle of warm milk to Duncan. “That should do the trick.”

Duncan leans back and allows you to fully rest against his chest. Your eyes shut as he pressed the bottle to your lips and allowed you to drink the warm milk. You let out a small hum and held one hand on his arm.

“Not too fast,” he whispers and pressed a gentle kiss to your hairline. “You’ll get a tummy ache.”

You let out a quiet whimper and slumped against his body. Michael smiles and soothing strokes your knee with his thumb. Jim takes it upon himself to clean up the gaming system and puts away the video games. Your lazily blink and pull away from the bottle to yawn against Duncan’s chest. Sleep is beginning to creep up on you. There’s a thick feeling behind your eyes that makes it hard for them to open.

“She’s gonna be out soon,” Duncan whispers and rhythmically pats your back to soothe you to sleep.

“I can’t sleep,” you weakly whined, lightly kicking your feet out against the couch as you sat up on the dirty blonde’s lap. “I’m sorry, daddies.”

“What’re you sorry for, dove?” Michael softly asks, using his free hand to push back your messy hair. “You’re not doing anything wrong. It’s okay for you to feel like this. Daddy gets like that sometimes.”

“Really?” You whisper against Bernie’s head. “Like now?”

“Just like this,” Jim says with a tiny smile as he sits on the arm of the couch. “If anything, we could give you some sleepy medicine.”

“No,” Duncan immediately says.

“I don’t want medicine,” you whined and pouted as you began to get fussy, quieting down when Michael taps your butt gently.

“Why not? It works for me and I feel fine the next night,” Jim shrugs and gives you a wink that has you giggling.

“I don’t want her sleep schedule to be off balance,” Duncan replies. “We’ll just cuddle her so she can sleep.”

All three men stand up as Duncan carried you in his arms. It felt like you were floating, and you giggled quietly in his neck when he bounced you lightly in his arms. When you all entered your little room, Jim made sure your nightlight was plugged in while Michael pulled the sheets down. Duncan laid you on the bed and made sure your pillows were all fluffed up. Michael laid on one side while Duncan and Jim lad on the other. Almost instantly, Michael rests a hand on your tummy and rubs in little circles. Duncan gently strokes your hair and allows you to hug his arm and Bernie. They’re not sure how long it’s been, but Jim’s dozing off and Duncan can barely keep his eyes open.

“Is she sleeping?” Michael asks Duncan quietly.

“No,” you whimpered.

“Do you want daddy to tell you a story?” Jim sluggishly asks, his voice rough and thick from the amount of sleep he’s holding in.

“Please,” you whispered against Duncan’s arm.

“Okay, dove,” Michael murmurs softly. “There was was a princess, a frog, a rabbit, and a…”

“Dragon,” Duncan mumbles with a small laugh.

“And a dragon,” Michael grins. “The princess lived deep in a forest with lots birds and flowers.”

Duncan huffs out a laugh and looks down to see if you were awake. A smile comes to his lips when he sees your thumb tucked between your soft lips, your eyes shut and lashes delicately resting on the apple of your cheeks.

“She’s finally asleep,” Duncan whispers, shifting around to get comfortable, but immediately stopping when you let out a small whimper.

“Lets sleep here,” Jim suggests as he yawns into his fist. “We’ll be here for her when she wakes up.”

“Yeah,” Michael sighs with a smile. “We will.”

Farm Station. I grew up in the south and my great/grandparents all owned farms so yeah, probably Farm Station.

2. What would you get arrested for on the Ark?

I think this happened to a character in the book...I would probably get locked up for getting pregnant as a teen! lol

If Bellamy Blake asked me to, you bet I would.

Geographically, I would probably reside in Trikru somewhere. But I really want to live in Shallow Valley. I wish we had seen more of that clan!

He was okay in the beginning. I was pissed when I found out he had a girlfriend in space and was trying to get with Clarke on the ground. I did not like him at all in S2! The guy really lost it in the end.

10. Be honest. How willing would you have been to take the chip without knowing all the horrible things it does?

I would have been able to resist in the beginning. Maybe took a step back to watch others take it first. But peer pressure, man. I would have given in eventually.

11. What character do you relate to most?

Clarke Griffin. She’s been isolated a lot and that’s something I relate to. And her Mama Bear instincts.

I feel like as unlikely as it is, the show really has Octavia set up as Warrior Princess Goddess Hero and she would win. lol. As far as forming alliances and making it to the end...Clarke Griffin could make it with Bellamy Blake by her side throwing back nighlock berries till the end.

I’m instantly bonding with Harper. She’s the sweetest.

I’m going to be a little leary of Bellamy Blake during his Clarke ‘I left her behind’ Griffin Depression hour. So he’s probably really mopey and moody. And let’s just avoid him for a while.

Two weeks? I’d probably starve to death.

HIDE! And then spy on them. Figure out who they are and if they’re friendly. Go to them for help if they are. Take them all out in their sleep if they’re not.

I’m not a big fan of my sister, so yes. Was there any easier way to stop Octavia? I mean, Clarke wanted to kill her. They wanted to protect Madi. As much as that scene pained me I think Bellamy did the right thing soooo I would poison her.

Stay asleep. Unless I’m living my entire life with Bellamy Blake by my side I dont want it.

2. what would you name your future kids?

So I don’t want kids, like at all, however I’ve always said that if by some cruel twist of fate I do have a son I’m naming him Togna. But pronounced like bologna.

3. do you miss anyone?

Yeah, I miss my SO. She’s away on a research trip and I’m not able to talk to her for about 10 more days. Shit sucks.

4. what are you looking forward to?

Vacation! I’m going to Disney in a few weeks and I’m amped! It’s gonna be a lot of fun and I’m gonna eat SOOOO much food.

5. is there anyone who can always make you smile?

A few people. My SO, obv, but also my closest friends constantly bring a smile to my face.

6. is it hard for you to get over someone?

No, people come and go, and while it sucks I try and not let it get to me too much. There have been times I struggled *coughs* but I think overall I’m decent at letting go.

Last year was... interesting. I was in a bad spot mentally and kinda threw myself at people for any amount of attention. I really grew up in the last year and it’s odd to think back on.
