Best visual representation of functional depression I’ve ever seen. You go to work, do the things that people expect you to do, then come home and just… blank out. Microwave is your best friend. Cleaning makes no sense. Drinking helps a little, sometimes. Every evening is the same. Nothing ever changes except the amout of trash waiting to be thrown out.

Easter at the Barton Farm

Easter isn’t a big holiday at the Farm. It’s something on the calendar, and the kids always make stuff at school that they drag out every year and put up everywhere. Fire hazard, Clint says, as he puts chickens made out of paper on the fire place. 

Laura loves painting and hiding eggs, though. And Clint loves spoiling the kids with candy. (He likes eating it too, after the kids go to bed.) The kids… the kids love the candy too. And hunting for eggs. 

The only one who doesn’t really like Easter is Lucky. Poor Lucky.

Barney nodded and he got a beer out, and he opened it for her before handing it to her. He figured he probably would let Clint be, and let him play with Lucky. Besies, Lucky missed Clint, he knew that much.  "How're you?" He asked as he moved to toast the rolls that the hamburgers would go on.

Clint laughed as he let Lucky knock him over, and he lay on his back as Lucky jumped ontop of him and his whole body was wagging as he licked and was overwhelmed with the fact that Clint was home, and here, and giving him scratches. Clint laughed as he gave him love, scratching behind his ears, talking to him, his energy feeding off Lucky's, and Lucky's off his.
