Their friendship means so much to me, you have no idea.

Since the very beginning, Joris has always treated Yugo and Amalia with nothing but respect, even when everybody else looked down on them at one point or another. And in turn, Yugo and Amalia have never underestimated Joris, like when Amalia assured Eva he'd be completely fine dealing with the Sadida guards on his own.

Even if their relationship isn't focused on as much as that of the core members of the Brotherhood, the three of them are a bunch of misfits who treat each other as they truly deserve.

Then, there's also the fact that despite learning of his connection to Grougalorasalar and of the tense atmosphere from last chapter, it's quickly made clear by the levity of their interactions that Yugo and Amalia don't resent Joris or hold him responsible for what the Black Dragon did to Yugo. Deep down, they truly wish it could just be a friendly visit instead of a request for help.

And Joris? Look how shocked and horrified he is for Yugo's sake! And when he learns of Asalar's involvement? He is literally shaking in rage upon learning he could go that far!

In spite of their centuries-old bond, he doesn't stop to consider the reasoning behind the dragon's actions. All Joris cares about is giving the orphaned Ouginaks a roof over their heads and helping Yugo and Amalia. Why? Because Grougalorasalar attacked his friends. And that's something Joris has never and will never be able to forgive.
