Artemis Crock Whump Headcanons #2.2

Note: Many of these hcs are gonna get pretty gruesome, so be warned. They'll also get sad at times as well. I'll probably start putting specific warnings on these.

TW: Torture, starvation, abduction, vomit

The second time Artemis is kidnapped and tortured happens about a year and a half after she joined the team. Her father caught her off guard in an alleyway as she was walking home and managed to grab and sedate her quickly. With the help of some other members of the Shadows, he transports her to an abandoned warehouse across the country. Once again, his aim was to make Artemis suffer as long and horribly as possible without killing her. This time, he does all of the torturing on his own. When he leaves to sleep, he has a guard stand in the cell with her in case she tries to get out. The few times she tries, it ends in the worst possible ways. If Artemis fell asleep while her father was gone, the guard would throw a bucket of freezing water on her. If she spoke, the torture would get worse. Sportsmaster soon decided that physical torture wasn't enough. He began describing what he was going to do to her mother, her friends, and her mentors. He would describe in graphic detail how he was going to torture and kill each and every one of them and then what he would do with their bodies. He described what he had done to his past victims, what they had said and done, how he had killed them, and what he had done to their bodies. Almost every time he did that, Artemis threw up. After a couple times, only blood and bile came up. The League found Artemis a week and a half after she was captured. By then, she was delirious and hallucinating. She was dehydrated and malnourished. Her wounds were some of the worst that many of the leaguers had seen. After being brought back to the cave, Artemis didn't utter a word for weeks. Not to Wally, not to Zatanna, not to her mom, and not to Ollie. She mainly nods or shakes her head and everyone gets into the habit of just asking yes or no questions.

Watching 13 year old Dick Grayson in Young Justice is everything. That more-or-less-resposible, more-or-less-reasonable big brother nightwing Dick, was a menace as a kid. He's so sarcastic, such a little shit, I love him.

Artemis Crock Whump Headcanons #2.1

TW: Torture, abduction, severe injuries

Artemis has been abducted and tortured not one, not two, not three, but four times. Three were by her father and the Shadows, the other one was Joker trying to get rich off of a ransom from the Justice League. The first abduction happens 6 months after she joins the team. They're on a mission, trying to stop a drug ring that's being run by Sportsmaster. Artemis ends up fighting several henchmen and she had the fight under control at first, but in just a couple minutes, she had too many on her and she couldn't fight all of them at once. She tries to use the mind link to get help but the rest of the team are caught up in their own fights. The henchmen end up overpowering Artemis and drugging her into sleep. When she wakes up, she's tied to a chair in a cold, concrete cell. Her uniform is torn. She tries to get free but her father enters the cell and begins a torture session. Artemis was tortured for three days straight, the torturers switching between her father and his henchmen, all day and all night. By the time the team found her, all of her ribs had been broken in some way, several of her internal organs were damaged, she had glass, metal, and other things stuck in her skin, and much more damage. Wally is the one that ultimately gets her out of the cell and onto Bioship. Before then, he had never seen anyone so badly injured. Ollie and Dinah were waiting for Wally on Bioship so they could treat Artemis as quickly as possible or at least sedate her until they got back to the cave. Once they got to the cave, Artemis was rushed into Medbay for emergency surgery where they repaired several organs, pulled scraps of several different objects out of her skin, and much more. After seeing what those sick fuckers did to Artemis, Ollie wanted so badly to break the "No kill" rule. After staying completely conscious through excruciating torture for three days, Artemis passed out on Bioship. For those three days, she had been fighting against her body to stay awake until she was rescued or Sportsmaster finally decided to just kill her, which she was beginning to wish for by the end of those three days. She was put off of missions for three months and patrolling for two. She never completely recovered from it.

Estelle Blofis is going to be so loved, it's almost hard to comprehend.

Despite the fact that her parents are literally Sally and Paul who are absolutely amazing.

The entirety of Percy and his friends would love her so much. She will never ever be in a situation where she will think that she's alone. She'll always have someone to call, always have somewhere to go back to, always have a home.

And they will make sure of it, she will never go through what they did. She'll never have to worry about going home and getting yelled at or hit, worry about people not caring for her, worry that what she does being the only thing that proves her "worth". She will be loved unconditionally which many of them weren't.

I don't think you understand. She will be the counter of all their fatal flaws, she will never think she isn't enough, she'll never believe herself to be a burden, she will never question the love people have for her, she will never be afraid to make decisions in fear of failure because she will always have people to fall back to, she will never feel the need to risk herself for others, she will never have a intense desire for something like power, because she has the people she loves, she will never think of herself as useless, she will never have to wonder whether her life is at risk, she'll never have to believe that it's up to her to fix her broken family, never have to worry about not having a home to go back to. Never worry about her self worth being tied to something she was "destined" to do.

And she will NEVER wonder whether she is alone.

She could be thousands of miles away from home and even there she would have someone. She could be anywhere on the planet Earth hell even not on Earth and she will never be alone, she will never fear for her life.

And she will ALWAYS be loved.
