In the labyrinth of life we meet,

A soul so captivating, so complete.

They had everything you ever desired,

And more, your heart was truly inspired.

But as time passed, things began to fade,

Blame and doubt, a painful cascade.

You found yourself at the center of the maze,

Every path led back, in a bewildering daze.

You longed for an emotional connection,

A sense of comfort, a deep reflection.

tried as you might, it could not be found,

Your heart ached, with every painful sound.

Pouring your heart out, you shared your pain,

Hoping for solace, some sort of gain.

Yet the distance grew, the gap unmet,

And You knew in your heart, the end was set.

It tore you apart, to walk away,

From someone who meant so much, day by day.

But sometimes, despite all you may try,

The pieces don't fit, no matter how high you fly.

So your left with no choice but to part ways,

To heal your heart, in bittersweet days.

Though hurting deeply, you must let go,

For in the end, it's the only way to grow.

Can you imagine if it didn’t happen? The first hello goes unsaid. The first phone call never dialed. The first note never written. And the first kiss never tried. Hands that were never held. The late nights never had. And I think after all these years that I’d know, I’d know there was something missing. Some great void in my cosmos. And even if I’d never met you, I think I’d be so very sad. No matter the hurt, no matter the pain we’ve caused, I love you so very much. And to have never known such joy, it would be as if a ghost haunted me. And I’d know. I’d know.

It Just Don’t Feel Like Christmas #163

In the quiet of the night, a longing heart does yearn,

For the magic of Christmas, for love's sweet return.

With lights twinkling bright and songs in the air,

The ache of solitude, a burden hard to bear.

The laughter of couples, wrapped in each other's embrace,

Leaves a wistful ache, a void in this space.

Dreaming of shared moments, of traditions anew,

Of matching pajamas and cookies with you.

The lights may flicker, the world may glow,

But without you here, it’s a hollow show.

I smile through the pain, I wear a brave face,

As I conjure our moments, our own special place.

So I’ll sit by the fire, with thoughts of you near,

Imagining laughter, the joy, and the cheer.

Though it’s not quite Christmas, not yet in my heart,

I’ll hold onto hope, for love’s just the start.

For one day I’ll find you, and we’ll write our own tale,

With traditions and memories, our love will prevail.

But for now, I’ll embrace this bittersweet call,

As I whisper to the stars, it just don’t feel like Christmas at all.

Heartbreak

You shouldn’t awoke the heart in my chest

If you had no intention of loving the rest..

The good parts, the raw bits, the vulnerable too..

Who are you to choose which parts you

Treasure, and which you throw away..

This is my wholeness and my broken

Not one false word I have spoken

I gave you my heart.. it was yours from the start

You took me to places I never knew,

How can I see differently after that view

How do I turn around and pretend you never existed

My mind it is racing and it is twisted

I feel so empty now you have gone

My tears they roll down my cheeks and into my lap

My life now.. with a gap

I’m sure the void it will fill with time and healing

Still I can’t move on from that feeling

My soul it aches for you today

I’m hoping this pain goes away

I’ll hold myself tighter each night while I’m here

And lean on my friends who hold me so dear

I’ll never forget you whilst I am breathing

And maybe one day when my mind whispers your name

I will be able to smile without sorrow

Today though, I pray for that tomorrow ❤️
