something I really miss about cable tv is how easy it was to discover new movies. channel surfing to a random film was such a lovely way to fall in love with movies you'd never have seen otherwise all while avoiding the decision fatigue of streaming services. you'd pass by a screening of a mid budget 80s flick only ten minutes in and discover a classic that once existed only in the dark recesses of your dad's memory. there's just something so special about the experience and it's a feeling I haven't had in a long time.
